A bit of a toss to the wind, but what if Shinomori is related to Bruce? Probably not gonna happen but

They have:

Straight nose bridges

Thick necks

Same ears

Spiky yet fluffy hair that's still somewhat cooperative

Both their eyes are flat on top with small/single eyelids, and a bit of a tired or intimidating feel about their eyes

Small pupils (sanpaku eyes)

Mouths that naturally frown the same way

Similar chins and jawlines

Long legs

Both are weirdly, VERY tall, and intimidating on first impressions

Both are cautious individuals that rebel against society in their own way: Bruce by fighting directly, and Shinomori by ducking out

The fact Bruce knew where to find him and gave the Factor to some guy he met in the forest, and being as level-headed as Bruce, there had to be a deeper reason for his choice (unless it's just desperation and Shinomori's the most level-headed existence after Bruce dealt with Kudo's experimenting) beyond simply "Shinomori's a good choice"

Because Bruce was not one of the "as they laid down to die, it was passed to an unfortunate soul" vestiges, he had time and passed it on his own terms. There's also some degree of trust when every user passes on the Factor, and Bruce had space to choose his next person.

Shinomori and Bruce are level-headed and self-sacrificial without thinking. (Technically this applies to a LOT of characters, but-)

Shinomori pushed everyone behind him and got snatched by AFO so no one would be stolen, even though he hid from the guy his whole life. No hesitation at all in this.

Look at how there's multiple "whams", he didn't just push one person. Even Kudo's legs are blurred, his arms are raised, and he looks mid-air, despite being on his feet earlier. Like he was thrown back. Banjo and Nana's mouths are open in shock, and you can tell by their bodies' positions they weren't running (except maybe Bruce).

They all look like they were pushed. En got shoved in the middle of his back, and his blur even lines up with Shinomori's hand, Yoichi got thrown back, and Nana doesn't look like she was running, but that she was being tripped from Shinomori.

Banjo panicked and the first thing he did was yell the news to Midoriya. AFO surprised them, but Shinomori did too.

Like I mentioned in my [Shinomori is cute] post,

"His sense of self-preservation is probably heightened by the nature of his Quirk to keep him out of danger too."

And he still put everyone else before him. Even when he was caught, all he said was along the lines of "I leave the Ninth to you!".

Meanwhile, Bruce was willing to go against AFO in a closed space, back when AFO was at his peak and just killed Yoichi. He wasn't thinking either, he just took a stance. And Fa Jin was not as strong as we see Midoriya use it back then. Meanwhile, this is AFO at his strongest point.

Are both very "Do or Die". And both have died in the Do. (Protecting OFA, when alive and dead; passing it on, cultivating on their turns, giving up their Factors to damage AFO and protect OFA in their own ways [being taken, forceful transfer], etc)

Like Bruce, Shinomori communicates. He's eloquent, and explains a lot for Midoriya to understand about OFA's mechanics.

He explained how OFA couldn't be wielded by naturally Quirked people.

He explained his own life story to elaborate and add reasoning and consequence.

He introduced himself and asked Midoriya questions so he could participate and further his understanding about OFA.

When Midoriya was clearly hurt and tired in his running around alone, Shinomori calls him out with "Ninth, your injuries aren't fully healed yet". He remained and watched him go as Midoriya pushed them all away. And Shinomori could tell their Quirks were only giving Midoriya the power he needs to accomplish his goals. He didn't keep this knowledge from the other users, saying it immediately.

Though he's also a bit roundabout in communication like Bruce

"One For All cannot be wielded by a normal person." meaning normal, Quirked people

"This too, is destiny." *is immediately contrasted by Banjo saying it's timing*

"Do you know how I died?" *knows the answer is no. answers himself* "I died of old age."

"I'll get straight to the point." *has to correct himself before he starts to go on for too long*

Maybe just because they're both tall and have muscles, but. Shoulder blades and biceps. (Oh boy, two things most humans have)

If they're related, it just gives more reason to why Bruce can put up with Kudo; he's dealt with Shinomori and his weirdness

his question has leon turning to you with a serious curiosity, no doubt hoping you’d translate something useful. unfortunately for him, and for you, it’s nothing more than what luis hopes will turn into flirtatious banter.

you shake your head at your partner, leaving him unconvinced. you hope his meager grasp of spanish keeps him from understanding too much. “¿qué con que?” you beck your head at luis, who grins upon receiving your attention. “es mi socio, nada más.”

your coy reply does not escape him. at once he slinks to your side, playful gray eyes flicking about your pretty face. “parece que le caes muy bien, ¿eh? te ha cuidado más que a la niñita.” he bumps shoulders, a teasing gesture. gets you rolling your eyes with a hint of a smile on your lips.

across the room of the safehouse, ashley looks on with girlish interest, her brows raising suggestively at the sight of you two so close. you send her a face, a code between young women, that has her fighting back a laugh.

leon, ever responsible, busies himself by placing whatever broken wooden planks he finds onto the dirty glass windows by the entrance door. you catch him glancing ever so often back at where you stand, unable to hide the wary way he eyes the man cozying up beside you. you ponder luis’s words.

“quiero pensar que somos amigos. los amigos se necesitan quererse, ¿no?” you reiterate, shifting your weight opposite of him. a thrill runs up your heart when he inches closer, intentions all too obvious.

heat rises up your face, a trained façade breaking as you laugh him off, unable to stop from smiling this time. luis hovers, incredibly pleased, watching from up close how your beauty lights up. he lingers even when you give him a lighthearted shove, stammering an excuse of having to check upstairs for supplies.

he lays back against the wall, feels the vibrations of your heels clicking up the stairs. knows you won’t find anything, anyway — if you weren’t so flustered, you’d remember he had already gone up there to check as soon as the group arrived.

a satisfied smirk refuses to leave his face, despite the severe way leon glares at him from across the room.

“i’m guessing you didn’t share any valuable input?” leon asks curtly, broad shoulders tense.

friends, my ass, luis thinks. he throws his hands up innocently, appearing clueless to leon’s envy. “no, no, it was. valuable for her to know, at least.” he winks impishly, earning himself a scowl. “c’mon, yanqui, i’m just being friendly, you know?”

though his jaw sets tight, leon says nothing in return, remembering ashley stands not too far from his place near the front door.

“everything’s clear up here.” your voice comes down the stairs before the rest of you does. you pointedly ignore both men eyeing your figure as you make your way to ashley’s side. “there’s a relatively clean bed upstairs if you’d like to rest, sweetie. i know it’s hard to relax in our situation, but i think it’s best you try.”

ashley quirks a brow. i’ll go if you tell me everything.

you offer your hand. well, duh.

“yeah, you’re probably right.” ashley agrees, voice feigning hesitation, placing her hand in yours to lead her away. she gives leon a passing look to gauge his reaction, but can’t seem to look past what she now recognizes as his “cool, calm, agent guy” persona. that, and, he’s a little too occupied watching you walk away to really react.

at least luis shows a little disappointment when you walk by without looking his way, even pouting at the lack of attention. the air sours as the two men are left alone, for plenty of reasons she’s clueless for.

she should really brush up on her spanish when she gets home.

i have an idea for a character design but what animals are usually associated with medicine??? the most common answer i got was snake, but i also thought of lab rats/mice, rabbits etc

#snake has the longest history with medicine especially since its shown on the rod of asclepius and the myths around venom #i also didnt know this but their shedding skin is referenced as symbols of rebirth and growth while their appearance resembles an #umbilical cord which gives it a really strong connection to health in some cultures.. although if i had to think abt modern medicine and #pharmacies the first thing i think of is white lab mice like pinky and the brain. for some reason i also thought of rabbits #bc of how its used for anti animal testing logos but thats more loose. however i did learn that the jade rabbit is shown to #use a pestle and mortar to create medicine in some stories so that could work...???? but its not as well known i think #i also thought of possums but that was more of an irony thing. same for bats but both are ironically really resistant to disease and act #as carriers. a death symbol like vultures or ravens/crows might work with a plague doctors mask but i feel #like that isnt the vibe im going for. black cat would be interesting considering superstition but im also on the fence abt that #actually what else is associated with medicine?? normally its stuff like pills crosses bandaids syringes etc #doctors coats and gloves.. especially plague doctor masks or medical masks in general but not much else huh #hand sanitizer and tissues.. pill bottles... blue nurse uniforms.. gauze and casts with signed names... hmmmm/.........#nurse dresses..??? sure?? i also see scalpels and knives but thats more for like. horror doctors for scary stories #im going for cute maybe even regular ass doctor vibe. like harvey sdv. or tony tony chopper #yapping

starting around 2nd grade or so, i came up with this fantasy world with fantasy animals that can all communicate with each other, and it gradually evolved folklore and a collection of gods that i never quite decided were real or not in-universe

a key figure in said folklore was the god of darkness and ice (and cold and death etc etc) who was stripped of her powers and sealed away by the other gods for being too destructive for a few centuries, gets released by her followers, and regains her powers by gaining the following of the daughter of the 2 most powerful gods, light and life (ie the manifestation of spring), who'd hidden her in a regular village because her physical form was the same species as that of the god of darkness n ice n stuff

i haven't actively worked on anything from this world in a good while, but it came back to me a few days ago and i had the thought that eventually the dark god has a conversation with the god of plague (who's actually the manifestation of entropy and much older than any of them thought) and realizes that she's not cold or darkness or whatever, she's not a destructive force or an absence, but a manifestation of the universe itself trying to reach equilibrium

so she starts to make peace with the other gods because she no longer sees them as competitors but as a part of herself, and she now knows that even without her intervention she'll outlast them and probably see other planets arise with their own gods and she'll outlast those too, until it's just her and entropy

#anyway sealing away the “god of death” didn't stop death or cold or darkness from happening because that's entropy's job #who the other gods had misidentified as plague and was just rolling with it. entropy never overstepped its boundaries so they let it be.#a thing elementary school me thought of was ice/dark having an alliance with wind and water #now me thinks that wind and water ought to have known entropy's (and maybe ice/dark's) true identity before anyone else #i haven't decided whether fire and light should be separate entities but light/sun is the most powerful but also relatively hands-off #so life is functionally the one in charge on the planet #idk how powers work in this world because if power was linked to worship then the most powerful would be some grain god #....which i guess would also be life? huh.#i cant remember any of the gods' names but they each had 2 forms: one resembling a species from the planet and the other is a big ol dragon #elementary school me also had the idea that these stories would be told as stories in-universe #so there's a mix of stories that are mythology or legends and stories that are more historical fiction or biographical #maybe there's the people's perspective and the gods' perspective #where the people start off ignorant (eg separating grain and life) then become more aware than the gods (eg realizing ice/dark isn't evil)

Did I just spend way too much time trying to "scientifically" determine the ranking of my favorite AM albums - even though I'm canonically terrible at math (proven fact) and hate it? Yes. Yes I did.

Because next to being a purely artistic, humanities-focused right-brained person I am also a Capricorn. And earth sign. Obsessed with lists and rankings and determining things as objectively as possible. Even when it's impossible.

(Anyway - my podium is apparently TBHC, WPSIATWIN [a little surprise] and The Car very closely followed by SIAS)

Which actually does make sense when I think it through.

(Anyway - I still love all of the children very much).

#yes all of this was promted by the Radio X post #i didn't even comment on it #I just wanted to see if I can make a ranking at all #and this was the only way that made sense to me #though the 'objective' list very much resembles the list I'd probably write down ofd the top of my head #so very strangely and shockingly my math seems to have worked and made sense #I made this way more complicated than It ever had to be #but maybe that's actually my life motto #I don't even know why I'm sharing this but I guess because its my little blog and ranting here brings me joy #and also I spend way too much time brain power and frustration if simple [but not simple for me] math to then not do anything with it #kisses if anyone ever reads this x #/#thoughts thrown into the tumblr void #my posts #maybe I'm slightly unhinged
