My Love, My Light, My Angel
Tumblr media
Anotha one! Kazutora x Fem!Reader. This is set in the Black Dragon timeline, around a year after Chifuyu was killed by Kisaki. You and Kazutora are old childhood friends. He's been avoiding you since he got locked up but fate has other plans! Smut OBVIOUSLY, Fem!reader, reader is a florist who majored in art and literature cuz I felt like it idk. Enjoy!
When you had walked out of your apartment that sunny fall afternoon you hadn't expected much from the day. But walking down the street you spotted a familiar head of black and blonde hair that stopped you in your tracks almost immediately. It couldn't be. "Kazutora?" You called out, heart thudding in your chest wildly.
Kazutora froze in his tracks, his heart skipping a beat as he heard his name being called. He turned his head slowly, his honey-colored eyes meeting yours. For a moment, he couldn't find the words to respond, his mind swirling with conflicting emotions. "It's... been a while." he finally whispered, his voice tinged with a mix of surprise and hesitation. He took a step closer, peering at you with a hint of longing in his eyes.
His gaze lingered on you, taking in your features, the way you had grown and changed over the years. Memories flashed before his eyes, the shared moments of laughter and friendship, but also the pain and guilt that lay buried deep within him. He knew he shouldn't let himself get too close to you again, but the pull was undeniable.
Just to hear his voice once again sent your head to spinning and your heart thundering in your chest. thirteen years, thirteen years since you'd last seen him. Ten years he'd been in jail and three years after that where you simply hadn't been able to find him. "How have you been? I've missed you." The last part was said softly, and it was true. You had missed him terribly. For all that had happened, with Valhalla, with Baji, it had not changed your feelings towards him at all.
Kazutora felt a pang of sorrow at your words. He had missed you too, more than he cared to admit. The weight of guilt and regret settled heavily within him, but he couldn't help but crave your presence. "I... I've been surviving," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of pain and longing. "It hasn't been easy, but... I've been trying." He looked down for a moment, a flicker of vulnerability crossing his face. "And yeah... I've missed you too. More than you know." His gaze lifted to meet yours again, his honey-colored eyes searching for any sign of forgiveness in your expression. Deep down, he wondered if he even deserved it after everything he had done. Chifuyu had forgiven him, Baji had used his final breaths to absolve him of his murder. But you were different. He couldn't be sure you would forgive him. But he still couldn't deny the warmth that washed over him at the sight of you standing there.
In nearly the same moment he said he'd missed you, before you could really even process what you were doing, you found yourself hugging him. As if afraid he would vanish once more from your life if you didn't hold onto him with as much strength as you could muster. Kazutora's breath caught in his throat as you wrapped your arms around him, holding him tightly. It was a bittersweet sensation, feeling your warmth after such a long time. His body stiffened for a moment, unsure of how to respond, before he finally relaxed into the embrace, his arms hesitantly finding their way around you. "Where have you been? I...I tried to look for you after you got out..." You managed to stammer, you had tried diligently to find him after he'd gotten out of prison to no avail. When you had tried to visit each and every time he had declined your visit. "I'm sorry," he whispered softly, his voice filled with a mix of guilt and regret. "After... after what happened with Baji, I... I needed to distance myself. I thought…I thought I was toxic, that being around me would only bring you pain." He tightened his grip, his voice trembling. "But I never stopped thinking about you. I wanted to reach out, but...I was afraid. Afraid you wouldn't want anything to do with me anymore." He pulled back slightly, his honey-colored eyes locked with yours. "I'm here now, and I want to make things right, if you'll let me." You had practically melted into his touch while he spoke. His familiar smell making you practically dizzy and your heart thrummed happily within your chest despite the heavy words he spoke. "You don't need to apologize Kazutora. You aren't toxic, you were a kid, we both were...what happened with Baji was horrible, but I never stopped wanting to be a part of your life Tora." His old childhood nickname slipped off your tongue with ease despite it having been so long since you had last called him that. Your heart clenched up near painfully in your chest. "I don't wanna lose you again... you're my best friend."
The weight of guilt that Kazutora had carried for so long began to lift ever so slightly as he heard your words of understanding and acceptance. A faint smile formed on his lips, tinged with a mix of relief and affection. "You still remember the nickname," he murmured, his voice filled with a touch of nostalgia. "I promise you, this time, I won't let go. You won't lose me again." In that moment, Kazutora felt a surge of hope, a glimmer of light in the darkness that had consumed him for far too long. He reached out to wipe away the tears that had gathered in the corners of your eyes, his touch gentle and tender. "Hey, don't cry," he whispered, his voice filled with sincerity. "I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere. Okay?" As he spoke those words, a flicker of warmth filled his heart. He knew the road ahead would be filled with challenges and dangers, especially with his current mission to dismantle the corrupt Black Dragon gang. But having you by his side, he felt a newfound strength, an unwavering determination to protect you and cherish the bond that had been rekindled between you. You nodded your head and were quick to bury your face in his chest trying to hide the tears that flowed down your face. The emotions of the moment overwhelming you entirely. "I'm holding you to that promise, Tora. Whatever happens I don't wanna ever lose you again." You sniffled softly, arms squeezing him just a bit tighter. Kazutora had been, and would always be, a large part of your world. The last thirteen years had been hard without him, painful to the point of being nearly unbearable. To have him back at your side felt perfect. "So you wanna come to my place for lunch? We can catch up?" I asked once I'd pulled my face from where I buried it on his chest, my tears having dampened his shirt slightly.
He had gone for so long without a shred of warmth or comfort in his life. Having you standing here now, your arms still embracing him, it felt as if he'd been wrapped in a warm fuzzy blanket and he couldn't help but to fall into the comfort of you. Even though you were crying, your tears dampening the fabric of his shirt, you still provided the same comfort you had always given him even as young children. He held you close, his arms providing a comforting shelter as your tears wet his shirt. He gently rubbed your back, offering silent support and reassurance as he listened to your words. "You won't lose me again, I swear." he whispered, his voice laced with determination.
As you suggested going to your place for lunch, a small smile graced his lips. The idea of spending more time with you, catching up on the years that had been lost, felt like a lifeline amidst the chaos surrounding his life."Yeah, that sounds good," he replied softly, his eyes meeting yours. "I'd love to catch up, to have some time together away from all the chaos. Just...being with you." With a final squeeze, Kazutora released his hold on you, his hand lingering on your cheek for a moment before he slowly withdrew it. Stepping back, he began to walk alongside you, his heart brimming with a mix of anticipation and nervousness.
As you both made your way to your place, Kazutora couldn't help but let himself believe, even if only for a moment, that perhaps love and redemption were not so far out of reach as he had thought for so long. Once you'd arrived to your apartment you were quick to order lunch from a local Chinese place. Waiting for the food you and Kazutora settled into the couch. Now that he was sitting here you couldn't help but stare at him, it almost felt like this was all just some crazy dream.
Kazutora settled comfortably on the couch as you ordered lunch, his eyes occasionally glancing over to steal glances at you. The warmth and familiarity of your home enveloped him, offering a sense of peace he hadn't felt in a long time.
Everything about Kazutora had changed in thirteen years time. Corded muscle stretched taut along his arms, his once rounded cheeks sunken in to make his jawline more pronounced now than it had ever been in childhood, his voice lower and had a smoother quality to it now too. Kazutora was no longer a teenaged boy; and your brain struggled to process this fact. It didn't take long to realize you were staring at him too much and your cheeks flushed a bit with embarrassment. "So, what have you been up to, where have you been?" There's so much lost time to catch up on, so many things that have probably happened in his life and your own that the other wasn't aware of. He noticed the blush that tinted your cheeks as you caught yourself staring at him, and a small, gentle smile curved his lips. The silence lingered for a moment before you finally spoke, breaking the spell. "I've been... on the move, mostly," he replied, his voice carrying a touch of weariness. "After getting out of prison, I found myself caught up in some dangerous business. I couldn't stand by and watch as my friends were consumed by the corruption of the Black Dragon gang. So, I've been doing everything I can to dismantle them from the inside."
He paused for a moment, his gaze focused on his hands, his tone tinged with a mix of determination and regret. "It's been a rough ride, dangerous, but I couldn't let them destroy what we had, what we shared in the Tokyo Manji Gang…. it's…they're not what Baji would have ever wanted them to be." His eyes flickered up to meet yours, the weight of his mission evident in their depths. "But enough about that. I want to know everything about you. What have you been up to all these years? How did life treat you?" His voice softened, a genuine curiosity shining through his words. You nodded your head quietly. The Tokyo Manji Gang had been in the news a lot. Prostitution, Gambling, Murder, they had gotten a lot darker than you had remembered them being when Kazutora had once been a part of the gang. The fact that he was trying to help his friends, more than that the people that had once been family to him, was noble. But it also made a knot of worry form in your stomach. "That's a lot to try and take on all on your own Kazutora." You murmured the words softly your gaze meeting his. It was a dangerous path to walk but one you knew that if anyone could traverse with any level of safety it would be Kazutora. He had always been smart, quick thinking. "Uh, well graduated highschool after you left." You didn't want to say locked up because it feels wrong, you had both been so young back then. "Went to college, ended up majoring in arts and literature. Got a job working as a florist now so life's been ok I guess." It's been lonely too, unbearably lonely, but you don't say that. You have a few friends, sure, but no one ever even came close to the closeness that you and Kazutora had once shared. You smile at him softly, heart feeling at ease for the first time in too many years. "It's good to have you back though...life just hasn't been the same without you" your voice sounded sad, almost wistful, you couldn't help but to wonder how things would have been if he hadn't been locked up. If he hadn't joined Valhalla, if all the horrible events that followed had been avoided.
Kazutora listened intently as you shared your journey over the past decade, a mix of pride and melancholy tugging at his heart. His eyes traced the lines on your face, still as beautiful as ever, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for the years of loneliness you had endured. "I wish I could have been there for you, to support you through all those years." He murmured, his voice laced with genuine remorse. His fingers ran through his blonde-highlighted hair, a nervous habit he had developed over the years. "But I'm glad you found something you're passionate about, something that brings you joy." Your heart thuds heavily in your chest. This moment feels so right, so perfect. To have him back here even after all this time just felt right. "You don't need to apologize." You said the words with a gentle tone. "Look at you, you're so much different, better." There was no more derangement in his eyes, no more delusion, instead his gaze was gentle, kind, and filled with nothing but affection. "I'm happy you got better, that's all that I ever wanted." Too many times you had tried to pull Kazutora from the darkness that had taken over his mind and too many times you had failed. To see him doing better now felt like a weight off of your chest. A soft smile formed on his lips as he met your gaze, the weight of his turbulent past momentarily forgotten with your words.
His fingers reached out, brushing against your hand, seeking connection and reassurance. His voice grew softer, tinged with vulnerability. "I've missed you, more than words can express." When his hand brushed against your own your fingers were quick to move to interlace with his. "Your hands are still always cold huh?" You asked him with a grin, Kazutora had always had cold hands, a bit rough and calloused from all his fighting while being in the gang. There had been a time where you had known every knick and scar that lined his knuckles. The familiar teasing about his perpetually cold hands had brought a chuckle to his lips, breaking the tension in the room, and he squeezed your hand gently."Yeah, I guess some things never change," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of fondness and playfulness. "I'll never have those warm, gentle hands like someone who works with flowers all day." His honey-colored eyes sparkled, his gaze locked with yours. You could feel your heart skip a beat at his words and you gave a small smile. "Suppose we are a perfect contrast to each other then hm?" You both were in more ways than just the temperature of your hands, you had always been two sides of the same coin. "I'm glad you're here with me now. It feels like coming home." He said the words softly: The scent of the flowers in your home mingled with the comfort of your touch, creating a sanctuary where both his mind and body found solace. "There's so much we can do together, so many possibilities," he continued, his voice growing softer but filled with an unyielding determination. "We can build a future that's different from anything we've known. A future carved out of our own choices, our own happiness."
As he spoke those words, conviction radiated from him. Kazutora knew that the path ahead wouldn't be easy, that challenges and dangers awaited him in his mission to dismantle Black Dragon. But with you by his side, he felt a newfound strength, a renewed purpose to protect, to love, and to find redemption not just for himself, but for the two of you. "I can't wait to see it all come together." You murmured, feeling as if you were practically on cloud nine just thinking about it.
Leaning in closer, Kazutora planted a gentle kiss on your forehead, his lips lingering for a moment before he pulled back slightly, his eyes searching yours. "I'm grateful to have this chance with you. And I promise, I won't let go this time." With those words and the feeling of his lips pressed against your forehead, almost feather light, you felt your whole being practically stop. Looking up at him, those same amber eyes you had always so adored you felt years worth of feelings flood back all at once. The absolute enamorment you had once felt with him hitting like a train. Kazutora was not the boy you had once known for certain. But he was still the person you had been in love with all those years ago, and those feelings bubbled up to the surface once more. "I definitely won't let you let me go. You're stuck with me now, I'd probably die if you just disappeared again." The words came out hushed and quiet but they were spoken with a certain conviction and mixture of tenderness and vulnerability filled Kazutora's honey-colored eyes. The weight of your affection and unyielding dedication bore down on him, gently sweeping away the remnants of his self-doubt and fears. A soft smile played on his lips as he reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. "I won't disappear again," he reassured you, his voice filled with a newfound determination. "I've learned my lesson, and this time, I won't let anything or anyone pull us apart. We'll face the challenges together, find strength in each other." His gaze locked with yours, his voice dropping to a hushed tone, resonating with sincerity and love. "You mean everything to me. The thought of losing you again, it's unbearable. I'll fight for us, for our future, no matter what stands in our way."
As the emotions sparked between the two of you, the chemistry that had always been present in your past encounters blazed to life once more. The room seemed to shrink, the world outside fading away, leaving only you and Kazutora, locked in an intimate connection that transcended time. Unable to resist any longer, Kazutora leaned in, his lips capturing yours in a passionate, lingering kiss. In that moment, the weight of the past slipped away, leaving behind only the promise of a future filled with love, redemption, and the unbreakable bond that had endured through the years.
Both of your mouths moved against the others with a gentle desperation, tenderness, desire, years of pent up love you had felt for each other pouring out in an instant through the touch. You were drowning in all things Kazutora as the kiss deepened. Gently your arms moved to slip around his shoulders pulling closer to him, needing that connectedness with him like air in your lungs. Caught in the passionate embrace, Kazutora felt his heart race, matching the rhythm set by the fervent exchange of your lips. The taste and feel of you after all these years left him intoxicated, a wave of desire crashing against the shores of his being. His hands moved instinctively, caressing the small of your back, holding you closer, as if he could merge his existence with yours. The world around the both of you faded away completely, as if there were only the two of you, entwined in a dance of affection and longing. Every touch, every movement was laden with emotion, and as the kiss deepened, Kazutora couldn't help but feel a healing balm spread through his wounded soul. His mind, which had once been plagued by the darkness from his past, now found solace in the warmth of your touch, the shared passion and mutual understanding. In this moment, there was only the present, the intensity of your love threading together the broken pieces of his spirit, infusing him with renewed vitality.
The room seemed to pulsate with the raw desire and yearning of your entangled bodies as you clung to him, lost in the depths of your shared connection. Kazutora's breath mingled with yours, his touch tender yet possessive, as he savored every stolen moment, desperately wanting to etch this memory into his very being. The moment felt like a dream, warm and comfortable. Wrapped snuggly in the other's embrace felt like home, a home neither of you had ever known anywhere except for in the other's arms.
As the kiss broke, a thin sheen of sweat coated Kazutora's brow, his chest heaving with the weight of emotion and arousal. His honey-colored eyes bore into yours, filled with a mixture of tenderness and hunger. "I need you. I've always needed you." he whispered, his voice rough with desire. Looking into his eyes which smoldered with such deep emotion your heart swelled with love and desire for him. The warmth of arousal pooling in your stomach. "Need you too Tora, Love you so much." You spoke in a breathless whimper words that had been left unspoken for far too long. He was all you had ever wanted and you were putty in his hands malleable and waiting to be shaped into whatever he desired. As the words spilled from your lips, their breathless vulnerability rang in Kazutora's ears, intertwining with the rhythm of his racing heart. Your declaration of love ignited a flame within him, fierce and unyielding, setting his entire being ablaze with desire. His hands, calloused and strong, cupped your face gently as he looked into your eyes, his gaze filled with a mixture of adoration and need. The weight of his past mistakes, the pain he had carried for far too long, dissolved in this moment of raw connection and vulnerability. "My love," he whispered, his voice filled with a profound tenderness that mirrored the intensity of his emotions. "I've longed to hear those words from you. To know that you're all mine, as I am all yours. To feel the depth of your love and desire." With a gentle, yet possessive hold, he brought his lips back to yours, a hunger laced within the kiss. His touch radiated with reverence, as he explored the soft contours of your mouth, mapping every inch of your being that he had missed for so long. The world outside ceased to exist, reduced to nothing but the dance of your entwined bodies.
Every caress, every whispered breath against your lips carried the weight of a promise. A promise to cherish, protect, and love you unconditionally. Kazutora's fingers glided along your skin, tracing the outlines of your body with a reverence born of both desire and worship. Lost in the frenzy of passion, the room became a sanctuary where time ceased to hold meaning. Each movement, each touch and shared breath, deepened the connection between you. The years of longing and unanswered desire melted away, replaced by the intoxicating presence of the person who had always held your heart. In this shared intimacy, Kazutora found solace and redemption. In your embrace, he discovered a love that could heal wounds and shield his fragile soul from the torment of his past. And as your bodies entwined, the flames of desire consumed them both, Your hands moved to feel every single inch of him you could reach, his neck, his shoulders, his arms. Fingertips that were feather light mapped every curve and plane of his body you could touch just as his did. As if trying to commit every single inch of him to memory. Were you blind and he mute you would know him by the feel of his very soul alone as it had always been between you two.
Nothing could, or ever would, hold a candle to him. Not when Kazutora was as bright as the sun itself. For all his past darkness he had always been your light, your comfort. It felt as if each graze of his hands set you ablaze in only the most pleasurable of ways. The fire of desire burned brightly within Kazutora as he reciprocated your fervent caresses, his body humming with anticipation and hunger. The intensity of your touch, swift and deliberate, sent shivers cascading down his spine, causing his pulse to quicken with fervor.
It didn't take long for you to crave more of him, to long for him like water, the desperate need to slake your thirst for him which had built up to a crescendo. Your fingers found the hem of his shirt moving to tug it off of him, his shirt slipped off his frame, pulled away by your eager hands, and the brief moment of separation only heightened the ache of longing between you. As your lips found his once more, the connection reignited, casting you both into a realm where time was irrelevant. "Love you s'much Tora." You murmured sweetly between your interlocked lips as small huffs and whines forced their way past your teeth and into your interconnected mouths
A symphony of sighs and whispers danced between your intertwined mouths, the subtle vibrations of your voice sending ripples of pleasure coursing through Kazutora. His skin tingled beneath your delicate fingertips, every inch of contact fostering a new depth of intimacy. With every brush against his chest, his breath hitched. The amalgamation of love, desire, and sheer need welled up within him, as if he were a vessel overflowing with the elixir of passion. In this electrifying moment, it felt as though he could not get close enough to you, his every sense consumed by the taste, scent, and sensation of your being. "Mmm, my love, my angel" he murmured against your lips, the words muffled by the shared heat of your mouths. His hands roamed your body with increasing urgency, seeking to memorize every curve and dip, just as you had done to him. The smoldering heat of his honey-colored eyes reflected the depths of his affection, staring into the windows of your soul.
The symphony of desire between you intensified, a chorus of sighs and moans woven into the fabric of your shared passion. Each fleeting moment of separation only served to fuel the hunger for more. Kazutora's chest rose and fell with each ragged breath, his body aching, yearning for the culmination of your desires. The two of you became entangled within a universe of love and raw sensuality. Lost in the shared ecstasy, you found solace and salvation in each other's arms.
Kazutora's body trembled under the trail of your hands, responding to your every touch with a mix of exhilaration and vulnerability. The need that radiated from you fueled the passion between you, rendering the room electric with desire. His skin tingled as your fingertips traced lines of fire across his form, igniting a wildfire of sensations and ardent longing. A soft growl of pleasure escaped him as your lips broke apart for a brief moment, only to reunite in a passionate collision. The taste of your breath, the sound of your murmured words seeped into his very core, eliciting a symphony of desire to reverberate through every inch of his being. He reciprocated with fervor, his lips molding against yours in a dance of overwhelming longing. Beneath your fingertips, the warmth of his bare chest welcomed you, a canvas on which the stories of your affection were etched. The connection between you grew with an intensity that defied explanation, a language that needed no translation. The room, now charged with anticipation, seemed to pulse with the rhythm of your intertwined bodies. As a chorus of soft whimpers and small huffs spilled from your lips, mingling with his own desperate sighs of pleasure, Kazutora's hands explored the expanse of your body with an unrestrained hunger. His fingers caressed the curves of your back, electrifying each inch of skin they trailed, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. "My angel." he murmured against your lips, his voice threaded with a mix of adoration and longing. "I ache for you, yearn for the taste of your skin against mine." He said softly as clothes were shed, barriers falling away one by one, Kazutora succumbed to the intoxicating bliss of your touch, abandoning himself to the waves of pleasure that crashed upon the shores of his ravaged soul. Each breath, each movement, became an act of worship, a testament to the love that had endured against all odds. In the sizzling heat of your joined bodies, all doubts, insecurities, and the burdens of their past dissolved, replaced by a union born of profound affection and desire.
It didn't take long for you to find yourself with your back pressed into the cushions of the couch, with Kazutora tapping the tip of his hardened cock against your core which dripped with slick arousal that had built up from feverish touches. Your core aches, almost as painfully as your chest does because having him hovered over you like this is divine beyond imagination. All of the things you had never dared even dream coming to fruition in a single moment. “You'll take care of me, Tora?” You managed to practically whisper between soft breaths, his touch burned through you like a raging inferno. The walls of your slick wet heat flutter and tense seeking what he's yet to give as he once more runs the tip of his cock through your slick covered folds, testingly, savoring this moment. The room felt sweltering, the air heavy with anticipation and unspoken promises. Kazutora's honey-colored eyes bore into yours, filled with a mixture of intensity and tenderness as he positioned himself over you, his hardened length teasing your slick entrance. Every nerve in your body pulsed with desire, your core aching for him, craving the consummation of this union.
The weight of your question, laced with vulnerability and trust, hung in the air between you. Kazutora's gaze softened, the fire in his eyes mingling with a tenderness that could move mountains. He brushed a stray lock of hair behind your ear, his touch gentle yet possessive. "I'll take care of you, my angel." he whispered, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down your spine. "I'll protect you, cherish you, and ensure that every moment we spend together is filled with ecstasy and adoration." With those words hanging in the air, he pressed forward, the tip of his throbbing member parting your slick folds, the sweet friction causing a sharp gasp of pleasure to escape from both of you. He paused, savoring the exquisite tension, allowing you to accommodate him, to feel every inch of him as he gradually delved deeper into your wet, pulsating heat. Your bodies intertwined, Kazutora's movements slow and deliberate, as he relished in the sensation of being one with you, his body merging with yours in a symphony of pleasure. Building with each rhythmic thrust, deepening the connection between you.
The room became a sanctuary, a haven where nothing else mattered but the two of you, bound in a vortex of passion and love. The sensations overwhelmed your senses, the slick heat of your core gripping him tightly, driving both of you to the brink of ecstasy. As your bodies moved in a synchronized rhythm, the symphony of moans and gasps filled the air, a testament to the fervor that consumed you. Each thrust was a declaration of your shared desire, passionate, loving, and hungry.
The world outside stayed momentarily suspended, allowing you to revel in the intoxication of this shared desire. In the heat of the moment, the flames of bliss burned brightly.
The feeling of him pushing in, bottoming out your cunt almost torturously slow has your hands flying to cling to his shoulders. Moans, mewls, and soft whimpers of his name escaping from between your parted lips. The stretch feels overwhelming in the best possible way, because his thick member brushes along every single soft, spongey, pleasurable spot that lines the inside of your dripping wet core. You're drunk on him before he even truly begins thrusting. His leaking tip pressing practically into your womb over and over. "Tora love you, love you Tora. My Tora." The words were babbeled and soft between heated moans and whines each time his tip hit deep yet again. Kazutora's movements were measured, each thrust deliberate and exquisitely slow as he delved deeper into the depths of your throbbing cunt. The air became heavy with the sounds of your moans and mewls intermingling with the soft whimpers that spilled from his own lips.
Your grip tightened on his shoulders, fingers sinking into the muscles, as if anchoring yourself to him amidst the swirling sea of sensation. The depth and stretch enveloped you, he filled you to the brim with a pleasurable ache that bordered on euphoria. Each brush of the thick, pulsating member inside you sent sparks of ecstasy dancing along your nerves.Between heated moans and whimpers, the words of love and adoration tumbled from your lips, your voice a melody laced with devotion. They merged with the panting breaths and gasps that escaped Kazutora's mouth, their delicious intertwining creating a symphony of raw passion.
"my love," he whispered hoarsely, his voice blending with the rhythm of your shared desire. "You…you feel so right, so perfect. You were made for me." He practically growled the words as his thrusts began to grow more urgent, deeper, and faster, building a crescendo of pleasure that threatened to consume you both. The room spun and spun with the heady intoxication of your union, and you surrendered yourself to the wave of ecstasy on the horizon. As Kazutora's movements became a blur of pleasure. Every thrust was infused with a powerful intent, pushing you closer to the edge, to the release that awaited you both. Together, you danced on the precipice of passion, on the cusp of that would wash away all earthly worries all the years spent apart.
With each shuddering breath, your moans and cries danced through the air, an offering to the higher power that was Kazutora. His name slipped off your lips like a fervent prayer, a testament to the profound connection that existed between you. In this moment, he was everything, your love, your light, your universe.
As you came around his length the world around you blurred and faded into insignificance. Stars exploded behind your closed eyelids, shimmering fragments of ecstasy that illuminated your vision. Your body awash with waves of delight. Tremors wracked your form, your core convulsing with the aftershocks of your release. Your slick heat clung to him, embracing Kazutora's cock snuggly as he continued the steady rhythm of his thrusts, pushing you higher still. Far past your peak and bordering on overstimulation. Your skin glistened with a thin sheen of sweat, evidence of the intensity that had consumed your bodies. His movements became effortless, gliding in and out of your trembling heat with a fluidity that spoke of deep familiarity and undeniable connection. Every tap against your tender cervix sent sparks of overstimulation and renewed pleasure shooting through your veins, amplifying your cries of his name, along with babbles of love and devotion.
As Kazutora neared his own peak, his movements became more frenzied, his thrusts deep and urgent. Whines and whimpers and a few spat curses flowing from trembling lips. With a final sharp growl of pleasure, his rhythm faltered as he came pumping you full of his hot sticky seed. Small whimpers fell from his throat as his cock twitched out its release inside of your plush walls.
In the aftermath of your climactic release, you lay entwined, panting and sated, the air around you heavy with the scent of passion and the profound connection that bound you together. With each blissful breath, you reveled in the aftermath of your shared desires, knowing that you had found a love that was unparalleled, a love that would endure through the tumultuous storms of life. Bathed in an ethereal glow that matched the euphoria coursing through both of your veins. Your bodies both trembling and weak from your post orgasmic haze but still clinging onto each other tightly. "Love you Tora." You managed to murmur in a half dazed voice, feeling entirely overstimulated and your mind a bit cloudy. Kazutora had laid his larger form against yours pressing soft kisses into the soft sensitive skin of your neck. "I love you my angel." You were his light, his love, and he would never let you go again.

PANIC
Bruce Banner x Reader
Warnings: mentions of anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, fluff
A/N: I don't personally have experience with PTSD or panic attacks but I thought someone would like this. I researched different people's experiences to try to make this realistic. Sorry in advance if it's bad.
---------
The Fourth of July, a time that hadn't been of particular importance to Bruce for most of his life until after the…event. The Battle of New York was big for all the Avengers. Steve, Thor, Natasha, and Clint were used to the bloodshed of death but fighting aliens and seeing New York fall apart around them had left them feeling hollow, but for Bruce and Tony, it was even worse.
Bruce had confided in you that he'd been having nightmares about that day every night. You could hear him mumbling in his sleep about trying to save children from the Chitauri. Despite your best efforts to cheer him up during the day he was withdrawn from life. You tried talking to him about scientific studies he'd normally find fascinating but to no avail. You tried talking to Tony about it but his advice was really no help.
"Leave the man be," he said with an almost full glass of whiskey in his hand. "I know Banner's a bit of a softie but he'll get over it." You didn't bother getting offended since you could see the sleeplessness in his eyes.
Even with all of this, you couldn't have guessed what the fourth had in store for you two. You had been in the kitchen with Bruce when the fireworks had started. It had startled you, causing a glass cup to drop from your hand. You were about to grab the broom when you noticed Bruce gripping the countertop.
His eyes were wildly dashing around the room. Beads of sweat were forming on his forehead and his breath was ragged. You'd rushed over to him, placing his hand on your chest. You could see a glint of bright green in his eyes. He didn’t listen at first, his skin started changing colors and he slowly started getting taller.
"Breathe Bruce, breathe," you pleaded, looking into his eyes. He looked terrified but the green slowly faded and his breathing synced to yours. You pressed your fingers to his neck and made sure his pulse had gone down.
"You're okay, you're safe." Suddenly another firework exploded from next door and Bruce whipped his head towards the sound but didn’t go green.
You looked up at him, his eyes were filled with exhaustion and sorrow. "Bruce you need to see someone about this. You're hurting yourself by not sleeping and you could hurt other people too."
"I could hurt you." You held him that entire night. For the first time, he opened up to you about what he saw that day.
"Before I hulked out I saw a bus stuck in the middle of the street abandoned by the driver. The kids were still inside when a Chitauri Leviathan slammed into it. It happened too fast for any of us to do anything. I think Tony took it the worst out of all of us though, he was the closest to the bus. There was so much death that day, I'm just glad you weren't there to see it."
Bruce was able to sleep that night. He still talked in his sleep but he was able to get through the night. The morning after your talk he booked an appointment with a psychiatrist Tony recommended to him, evidentially Pepper forced Tony to see someone too.
Slowly over the months, you got your husband back. He wasn't fully the same but he went back to his nerdy tangents about things you could never fully understand. Every now and again he'd panic over a loud noise or have a bad night but he is so much better than before.

As It Should Be ~ Lucy x Caspian
A/N: Hello lovelies, so this is well out of my wheel house. But thanks to Shadow and Bone I am well and truly back on my Ben Barnes Bullshit. Which included re-watching the Narnia movies and then I had some feels. I'm completely ignoring the books and this is way AU but I couldn't get it out of my head. So if there's any Lucian shippers out there, this ones for you. Spoilers for the movies.
Summary: Lucy had not been ready to leave Narnia. And Caspian had not been ready for her to go. Perhaps fate still had a plan.
Characters/Pairings: Lucy Pevensie/Caspian (everyone is of age, time works funny between the realms); Edmund Pevensie, Aslan
Warnings: Fluff, a little bit of angst, pining, spoilers for the movies.
Word count: 5800 (I don't know how it happened. I just had a lot of feels)
Tumblr media
Caspian’s voyage on the Dawn Treader had been a success on all counts. But in spite of his resolve to be a great king of Narnia and to treasure the lands and people he had been chosen to rule, the young king was sorrowful on their return journey. His crew had known better than to question him when he returned alone from Aslan’s country. Drinian put a comforting hand on his shoulder, and Caspian clasped it for a moment before giving him a meaningful nod. Drinian got the Dawn Treader sailing for home while Caspian ducked below deck for just a moment to mourn the loss of his friends. When he returned, his smile was not quite so bright as it had been when the king and queen of old had been on the ship.
The crew was happy to be going home, but they also felt the loss of their companions quite acutely. It had taken no time at all for them to love Lucy and Edmund. The younger of the Kings and Queens of old were kind and hardworking and had immediately treated them as old friends. Narnia they supposed was their great love. And while Eustace had taken some extraordinary circumstances to warm up to, he too was missed, and they all found the ship far too silent with Reepicheep’s running commentary.
Their return took nearly six months as they returned all those who had been taken by the mist to their home islands. So, while the crew was joyous to be returning home after nearly two years, everyone was weary when they finally docked on the shores beneath Cair Paravel. Drinian directed the landing team, as more sailors came to help them unload. Caspian gazed up at Cair Paravel in all its glory. It had been mostly restored before he departed, but now, it was back to its true grandure, he wished Lucy and Edmund could have seen this.
He had only a moment before his advisors were upon him, welcoming him back and informing him that a feast was already being prepared for his return. They clamored for his attention, luckily with good news. They each were reporting that peace remained and things had grown even more bountiful in the past six months. Caspian listened carefully making notes on what to discuss with them tomorrow, before finally excusing himself to clean up before the feast.
After what could only be described as the most delicious meal he’d ever had, Caspian took his time reacquainting himself with the halls of his castle. During his time away, the team in charge of the interior restoration had finished all of their projects, which included the portraits of the Pevensies at the height of their rule. He inspected each one closely, trying to find the familiar features of his friends in the older faces.
For the most part he could see it. Although it was odd to see them at that age - all older than his 23 years. Well, all but Lucy. She had been just shy of 21 when they tumbled back through the wardrobe. She was the only one who never mentioned how hard it was to go from being an adult back to being an 8 year old. But he suspected that she struggled more than she let on, though she would never tell her siblings while they suffered their own distress. His thoughts lingered on the youngest of the great kings and queens. He couldn’t help but wonder if his dear friend would look the same when she reached 20 again.
Her portrait hung beside her sister’s and one could easily spot the differences. Susan held a quiet beauty, befitting her title of Gentle. But even the stillness of a portrait could not tame Lucy’s wild beauty and adventurous spirit. He knew well the twinkle of excitement the artist had captured. It was one that never failed to bring a smile to his face.
Caspian had been captivated by Lucy during their time on the Dawn Treader. More than he’d been willing to admit, even to himself. Though he suspected Edmund had seen it. He’d even expected a brotherly talk at one point, since Peter was absent. But he merely smiled, and took every opportunity to let them be together. Drinian had also made more than a few subtle comments, but Caspian had chosen to remain silent.
While the young prince had had eyes only for Susan upon their first meeting in terms of amorous intentions, Lucy’s unwavering faith and goodness had endeared her to him. When she stood across the river with only a dagger in her hand, facing down an army with a smile he could see why she of the four was the Valiant. She was amazing, even at age 11.
Her return 3 years later, had only deepened that opinion. She had matured and Caspian found himself lost in her. He’d been telling the truth when he told her that he hadn’t found a queen as beautiful as Susan, but what he left out was that there had been none as fierce as her either.
The pair had spent every possible moment together – stargazing, checking maps, telling stories. He loved her stories. Queen Lucy the Valiant had truly been a queen of her people. While her siblings had often been on the frontlines of battle, Lucy had always been protecting the people – evacuating them, learning from the healers how to dress wounds that didn’t require her cordial. She was the most beloved of the four, even in the stories Caspian had heard before he met them. Though she would refute that claim a thousand times over.
Other stories were filled with tales of dancing with fauns and dryads. Mr. Tumnus was a frequent character, and Caspian could hear the heartache in her voice when she spoke about him. He would often take the opportunity to squeeze her hand in comfort, which she also responded to with a grateful smile. Edmund would often join in, offering tales of his own or teasing Lucy.
One time in particular, he felt the need to remind her of the time a suitor had come to court and she had been so used to dancing with the fauns during their revelries that she panicked when he had offered his hand for a formal dance.
“All you could hear in the ballroom was Tristan grunting and Lucy apologizing,” Edmund chuckled.
Lucy’s cheeks flamed red and she glared at her brother for a moment, before a smirk slid across her features.
“At least I didn’t end up in a fountain after my first kiss,” she shot back.
Edmund’s cheeks tinged ever so slightly, but his expression was wistful.
“She was lovely. And it was worth it. I hope she had a good life.”
“I’m sure she did. But I’m sure she missed you.”
The siblings shared a look, regrets and memories flowing through their minds. Once again, Caspian was struck by how much life and loss these two “children” had experienced.
Later that night, after confirming their course with Drinian, Caspian was ready to retire to the barracks area for a few hours of sleep. But as he passed his quarters which he had given to Lucy, he heard humming. Moving as quietly as he could, he neared the cabin, noting the slightly ajar door. Caspian couldn’t help the smile that crossed his lips as he watched Lucy dance to her own tune as she looked in the mirror, the steps somewhat disjointed. He slipped inside, leaning against the doorjamb, making sure she couldn’t see his reflection.
“Would you like a partner?” he finally asked.
Lucy jumped at the unexpected voice, whirling as her cheeks filled with color upon realizing she’d been caught.
“Caspian! I was just… Edmund made me remember and I thought I’d practice.”
“In case we have a ball on the Dawn Treader?” he asked, grinning wildly at her.
“Of course. I’ve been to many balls on ships,” she giggled before sobering slightly. “No, but there’s dances back home. And I’ve never been, but I suspect they don’t much care for the type of dancing the fauns and dryads do.”
The mention of home twisted in Caspian’s gut, but he pushed the thought away. He would enjoy what time he had with her. Each moment was a gift.
“Well, I don’t know how they dance in your world, but it always helps to have a partner. May I?”
She nodded, uncharacteristically shy.
He snapped to attention and made a formal bow, which made her laugh but she curtsied anyway before taking his hand. He pressed a quick kiss to her knuckles, before placing her hand on his shoulder. His right hand fell to her waist, he his left clasped hers firmly.
“’Ready?”
“Absolutely?”
He wasn’t positive, but they both sounded breathless.
He began to hum, counting the beats by gently tapping his fingers against her side. He gave it a count of 8 before he began to move. It was rough at first, they were both out of practice… and nervous if he was being honest. But after a few crushed toes, they found their rhythm and soon they seemed to float. Caspian waltzed her around the room, twin smiles adorning their faces. Before they knew it, they were simply swaying in place gazing into each other’s eyes.
“I wonder if Susan is dancing like this with her naval officer,” Lucy wondered aloud, regretting it the moment it slipped past her lips. “Oh, I’m sorry, Caspian. I wasn’t thinking.”
He chuckled and shook his head.
“Don’t worry, Lucy. I’m not upset. I’m happy that your sister is moving on with her life. No one deserves to be alone.”
“But you’re alone,” Lucy pointed out.
Not cruelly, more confused by his logic.
“I’m not alone right now. I’m with you.”
And I will take that, he thought to himself. Just this moment and whatever else I get.
“Susan and I are worlds apart. In more ways than one,” he added slyly.
Lucy gazed up at him, no longer swaying at all.
“Caspian, I-“
At that moment, the ship lurched sending her crashing into his arms. It lurched again and sent them both to the floor. A storm had reached them and they heard the crew members racing about on deck. They shared one more moment before sprinting into action.
Tumblr media
“Your majesty.”
His chief advisor’s voice jostled Caspian from his memories.
“Lord Pallburn. How can I help you?”
“You requested updates on the refugees and the five lords.”
“Of course. We shall speak on the way to my chambers.”
Caspian shot one last look at Lucy’s portrait before leading his advisor away.
Tumblr media
Lucy sighed quietly as she watched the happy couple spin around the dance floor.
Years ago, on a ship a world away, Lucy had been held like that. Her thoughts strayed to Caspian and his near obsidian eyes. She had thought of him often in the years since. She wondered how long it had been for him.
Was he married by now?
A father?
Dead?
No.
Her heart couldn’t bear that last one. She had to believe Caspian was alive and well and happy or she wouldn’t be able to carry on.
She shook the thoughts away and returned to the view in front of her.
Susan was absolutely radiant in her wedding dress. Her smile lit up the room as Tom held her in his arms, leaning down for a peck as the song ended. They held hands as they exited the dance floor to chat with their friends.
Peter had his younger daughter, Jane, balanced on the top of his shoes as he moved them about in a decent facsimile of a waltz. Lucy smiled as she remembered her oldest brother doing the same with her when she was much younger.
Edmund was sitting with his girlfriend Margaret and their cousin Eustace laughing quite merrily.
With the exception of her cousin, Narnia had taken on the golden tint of a fond memory. But a memory none the less. Her siblings had been content to leave it at that. Lucy could not find it in her to do the same. Narnia had always felt more like home than this world. A fractured childhood would do that to you she supposed. After all she had grown up in Narnia first.
She still knew their customs and constellations better than England’s. But she knew it wasn’t just that. Her heart lay in Narnia, or rather with the King of Narnia. Caspian had a way of making Lucy feel seen when others didn’t.
“Enjoying the party, Lu?”
She nodded as she looked to Edmund who had slipped into the seat beside her.
“It’s wonderful. Everyone is having so much fun.”
“Everyone?”
“I’m having fun,” she insisted, knowing Edmund could see right through her.
“Talk to me.”
She looked again to the dance floor, eyes flitting from couple to couple.
“Do you think that I could ever find that here?”
“Love?”
Lucy nodded again.
“What makes you think you won’t?” he pressed, avoiding her question.
“I can’t imagine finding anyone to share my life with like that. There’s so much I couldn’t tell them. I don’t know how you all do it.”
Edmund hummed in response.
“Narnia meant everything to me. It made me who I am, but the only one who needs to know about it for it to be real is me. And I’m lucky enough that I got to share it with you, and Peter, Susan, and Eustace. Margaret doesn’t need to know what made me the man I am. Only that that man is someone she wants to be with.”
Lucy regarded her brother carefully for a moment. He’d clearly put a lot of thought into this and she appreciated it.
“I guess that makes sense. I guess I’m not ready to admit that Narnia is my past. Even though I have to.”
They were quiet for a moment.
“Is that the only reason you think you won’t find love here?”
Lucy knew where he was going with this, and finally she sighed – more an exhale after holding one’s breath.
“I think I loved him,” she whispered, not needing to specify who “him” was.
“Loved?” he clarified.
“Love,” Lucy corrected.
“He loves you too for what it’s worth. I could see it. Clear as the Northern Sky.”
“I don’t think it matters much. We’re worlds apart now. He’s probably married by now. I’m not sure how I managed it, but it seems I’ve left my heart in Narnia.”
Edmund wrapped an arm around her shoulder and tugged her into his side. She leaned her head heavily against his shoulder.
“What has been lost, can be found. We just need to have faith about these things. You taught me that.”
Lucy smiled at the reassurance.
“Thank you, Edmund.”
“Anything for you. Would you like to dance? We can even pretend we’re at Tumnus’,” he offered.
Lucy shook her head, but smiled more genuinely than she had all night.
“I think I’m going to take advantage of the gardens, and get some fresh air.”
“It’s not like there isn’t air inside,” he joked making her roll her eyes.
“I’ll be back soon.”
Edmund nodded and squeezed her once more before letting her go.
“Be safe.”
Lucy slipped through the crowd unnoticed, as usual. After a few minutes walking through the gardens she happened upon the entrance to a hedge maze. Looking back at the lights of the reception, she took a deep breath and hurried into the maze, following the turns at random.
It couldn’t possibly be big enough for her to actually get lost.
Tumblr media
Caspian perched on the rail of his balcony, one knee up as his back was pressed against the palace wall twirling Lucy’s dagger in his hand. If anyone entered his chambers they wouldn’t be able to see him unless they stepped outside. Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back against the stone enjoying the cool breeze off the Eastern Sea. He had chosen this room specifically for the view of the water. It had always calmed him, and now it held an even more special place in his heart.
In the morning, he would return to his duties as king and this journey would leave the forefront of his mind to make room for diplomacy and logistics. And if his advisors had their way, finding a queen. But for now, as the wind whipped around him, he could imagine that he was back on the Dawn Treader. And if he listened closely enough, he could hear Lucy’s familiar humming. He allowed his mind to run wild with memories.
When the humming only grew louder, even after shaking himself from the sweet memories, Caspian grew concerned. Alert now for possible danger, he scanned the grounds for the source of the sound.
The beach was clear. As were the cliffs to the north. But as he turned his gaze to the south, a flash of auburn hair in the garden maze caught his eyes. She was deep within the heart of the garden without alerting the guards which was no easy feat.
Fastening his sword belt on, he sheathed Lucy’s dagger which she had gifted him on the shores of Aslan’s country.
“I think you’ll need this more than I will.”
“It shall never leave my side.”
You shall never leave my heart had remained unspoken.
Not wishing to alert the guards, Caspian scaled down the side of the castle, jumping from the lowest window and rolling to his feet.
The wind was carrying the humming to his ears quite clearly, as though it was actively helping him find the intruder. At the edge of the maze he took a deep breath before stepping inside. He allowed himself to be led through the turns by the voice, although he was nearly certain it must be a trap. Surely it was a siren or some spell luring him with his heart’s desire. But still he pursued her.
A few times it seemed they were just on the other side of the hedge from each other, but he would round the corner and find only a dead end.
Finally, he caught a flash of lavender fabric whooshing around the corner and he sped up as well as he could while maintaining his stealth. Lucy’s dagger fit comfortably in his hand. Peeking around the corner to ensure she was coming, he waited until she had passed by before leaping out and grabbing her, the dagger pressed against her throat.
“Who are you? And what are you doing here?”
She froze in his arms.
“Caspian?”
The woman squirmed in his grip enough to see his face and in his surprise he let her.
“It is you. How on Earth did you get here?” she asked.
“Lucy?” he mumbled as he released her and she turned to look at him, giving him his first good look at her.
“Yes, it’s me. I know I look a bit different. But goodness, you haven’t aged a day,”
“Lucy,” he repeated before dropping the dagger and pulling her into his arms, burying his face in her neck.
She held him just as fiercely as if he would disappear if she let go for even an instant.
“I missed you so much,” he murmured. “I thought of you every day.”
“As did I. How long has it been for you?” she asked as she lifted her head to look at him, unwilling to break their embrace any further.
“Six months and thirteen days.”
Lucy huffed out a little laugh.
“Is that all?”
Caspian already knew it had been much longer for her. Years, he guessed, given how much she looked like her portrait.
“How long?”
“Six years. Four months. Eleven days.”
She’d been counting. In spite of knowing that Aslan’s plans for Narnia did not include her.
“Oh, Lucy,” Caspian sighed.
Years. She had thought of him every day for years. The knowledge made his heart beat faster.
“It’s okay. You’re here now. How on Earth are you here?” she asked again.
Caspian glanced upward, just to ensure he hadn’t been transported to her world, but sure enough his stars remained, twinkling down at him.
“Lucy, you’re in Narnia.”
Whipping her head around to gain bearings she didn’t know she’d lost, Lucy’s expression clouded with confusion.
“But how? I was at the wedding. I just stepped out for a few minutes –“ She paused and shook her head with a serene smile. “Things never happen the same twice,” she murmured. “Or four times I suppose. I’m not sure how it’s happened, but I am glad to be home.”
Caspian’s heart both clenched and soared at the word home. But he was still stuck on the earlier revelation.
“You were at a wedding?”
His mind raced as he took in her demure dress and artful curls.
Six years, his mind screamed. Even if she had thought of him, of course she would have found someone else in that time.
“Yes,” she affirmed absent-mindedly. “Of Susan will be so cross I’ve left her wedding.”
Elation.
“Susan’s wedding?”
“Yes.” Lucy’s face dropped. “Oh, I’m sorry, Caspian.”
“So you are not married?” he asked, ignoring the apology.
Lucy’s laughter was a balm to his soul.
“Goodness, no. Not even close. The closest I’ve come to marriage was holding hands with Dennis Macmillian when we were 17. And even that was mainly because I was slipping on the ice. I’ve never even gone for a stroll with a boy.”
Caspian smiled, pulling back just enough to offer her his arm.
“Well then, please, allow me. It would be a shame to waste such a lovely Narnian evening.”
“So it would,” she agreed, looping her arms through his. “Tell me everything I’ve missed,” she insisted as they walked deeper into the maze.
“There’s not that much to tell you. We’ve only just arrived back to Cair Paravel this morning. It took us several months to return everyone to their homes before we could return. Beyond that, I’ve just received reports of peace in Narnia.”
“That’s wonderful, Caspian.”
“I’m sure your time has been far more interesting. Tell me everything.”
“Longer doesn’t always mean more interesting.”
Caspian shot her a look of disbelief.
“I’m telling the truth. After the Dawn Treader we stayed with Eustace until the end of the War. After that, once Susan, Peter, and our parents returned, I went back to school. I learned how to become a nurse.”
“Did you now?”
“Mhmm. Top of my class even. It’s been fascinating to learn, although I still think the healers here have a better bedside manner. And goodness have there been days where I wished for my cordial on the job.”
“It sounds intense.”
“It is. But I love it.”
Her smile confirmed it.
“It suits you,” he agreed.
“Besides all that, not much has changed for me. I spend most of my time working or with my family, though that’s been difficult of late.”
“Difficult? Why?” he asked with a furrowed brow.
“They’ve all become convinced I’m doomed to become an old maid. Well, not everyone I suppose. Mainly my parents and Susan. Peter would prefer it that way, over protective as he is. And Edmund, well he just wants me to be happy.”
Despite her comments, the fondness she had for her siblings still shone through.
“I’m sure they all want you to be happy.”
“I know that. I just wish they wouldn’t keep trying to set me up. I think falling in love should happen naturally.”
She glanced up at Caspian who was watching her closely.
“As do I. So it sounds to me that you’re turning suitors down left and right.”
“Hardly,” she scoffed. “Although I think Susan believes that she’ll have a better chance at marrying me off now that she’s officially taken. They’ll have to settle for the lesser Pevensie sister.”
Caspian narrowed his eyes at the assertion, footsteps coming to a halt as he turned to face her.
“In what way lesser?”
“In every way,” Lucy laughed humorlessly.
“You are Queen Lucy the Valiant. The most beloved Queen Narnia has ever seen,” he reminded her, continuing on before she could argue with him. “You are amazing. You are in no way lesser.”
His words made her smile but it didn’t reach her eyes.
“That may be who I am here. But in my world, I’m just Peter and Susan’s little sister. An afterthought.”
Caspian hated to hear her talk about herself like that.
“Then everyone in your world must be fools. You are valiant and beautiful in every world.”
Lucy found herself unable to hold his intense gaze.
“I’m not beautiful like Susan.”
He lifted her head up with a finger underneath her chin, forcing her to look at him.
“Perhaps not. But you’re beautiful like you. And brave. And kind. And loving. And a million other wonderful things.”
“No one’s ever seen me the way you do.”
“It’s an honor to know you this way, Lucy.”
He reached up cradling her cheek before sliding his fingers into her hair.
“I love you.”
It was a relief to finally say it out loud, and her smile was well worth it.
“I love you too, Caspian. I have for a long time.”
He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. When he pulled away, he leaned his forehead against hers.
“I was so scared I’d never see you again,” she whispered.
“I was too. I was certain that I’d lost my chance. But you’re here now.”
“I am.” She looked around and somehow he knew she was looking for Aslan. “But I still don’t know why.”
“I’m sure Aslan has his reasons.”
“He usually does,” Lucy agreed with a smile. “I’m sure we’ll figure it out in time. For now…”
“For now, I’m just going to be grateful. And enjoy every second of my time with you.”
“I like that plan.”
They walked through the gardens for a time before Caspian escorted her up to the castle.
Tumblr media
Sure enough they spent the next few weeks enjoying their time together. In fact the entire kingdom rejoiced at the return of their queen. But with no indication as to why she was there, soon a quiet anxiety crept in.
Neither Lucy nor Caspian were willing to make too many plans when they didn’t know when she would be returning, so instead they focused on ensuring Narnia was well taken care of. Lucy helped Caspian reinstate the High Council so that every type of creature was represented. Caspian watched in awe as the land flourished and now that everyone had a voice they found it even easier to keep peace. In fact, many days it seemed there wasn’t much ruling to do at all. So he spent more time with his people than ever, which he loved.
And he grew to love Lucy more every day. He knew at some point that she would have to leave, to return to her family, but he also knew that he couldn’t bear to be without her. His decision was made, although he was sure that many would consider it selfish.
Which is why a year after she arrived, Caspian led Lucy into the maze he had found her in.
“This is quite lovely. We haven’t done this in a while. What brought this on?” she asked as they walked.
“Well, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. And I have a question for you. And I thought this would be the best place to ask it.”
She tilted her head in question, noting the slight nervousness in his voice.
“What kind of question?”
“An important one.”
They had reached the center of the maze and Caspian led Lucy to sit on the edge of the fountain that contained a stone carving of Aslan. He hoped it would bring them the Great Lion’s blessing.
He took both her hands in his as he sat beside her on the edge of the fountain.
“Lucy, my love, ever since I first met you, you have been a source of strength and someone who I have never failed to believe in. On our first adventure I learned never to overlook you, and I am eternally grateful for learning that lesson. Because it allowed me to see you for who you are on our second adventure. On the Dawn Treader, I fell in love with you. And the day I had to say goodbye to you it felt as if my heart would never be whole again. But by the grace of Aslan, you were returned to me. And I have spent the past year falling more and more in love with you. I’m not sure how long we have left in Narnia, but I don’t want to waste another moment without asking you to be my wife.”
She gasped as Caspian shifted down onto one knee.
“There is no other I would bind myself to. I love you, Lucy Pevensie. And my only wish is to have you by my side for as long as you’ll have me. Will you marry me?”
“Of course.”
She tackled Caspian to the ground in a very unladylike move, and kissed him soundly.
“Of course I’ll marry you.”
Caspian’s smile was brilliant as he reached up to cradle her face before pulling her down for another kiss. They reveled in their new engagement alone for a while longer before deciding to return to the castle.
They were nearly out of the maze when they saw a flash of golden fur.
“Aslan?”
Lucy took off after the lion and Caspian was right on her heels. He couldn’t help but wonder at the timing.
They made it back to the fountain and found the lion himself in front of his stone counterpart.
“Aslan, it is you.”
Lucy launched herself at him, burying her face in his fur.
“Hello, dear one.” It came out in a deep rumbling laugh.
Caspian knelt before Aslan, keeping his eyes on the ground.
“Rise, King Caspian.”
“Aslan, what are you doing here?”
“I’ve come to talk to you about your future, dear one.”
Caspian felt unease coil in his stomach.
“My future here or…?”
Lucy took a step back to stand next to Caspian taking his hand in hers.
“That is your decision to make, Lucy. Your heart longed for Narnia when you returned home. You had not been ready to leave it behind. Is that still true?”
She looked to her betrothed and considered her words carefully.
“I could leave Narnia. But I cannot leave my heart. I cannot leave Caspian. Not again.”
Aslan turned his massive head towards the king – looking at him expectantly.
“Caspian?”
The king lifted Lucy’s hand to kiss her knuckles, looking to her as he answered.
“Narnia was the only home I ever knew. But Lucy is the only home I will ever need. I would leave Narnia if she wished me to. If you would allow it,” he added as he finally turned to face Aslan.
“Caspian?” Lucy gasped at him.
Aslan seemed to nod so Caspian continued, looking back to his love.
“Lucy, in the past year we’ve changed Narnia. It is ruled by its people. As it should be. They don’t need a king. But I need you.”
Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, but there was no mistaking her smile.
“Are you sure?”
“I am,” he assured her.
Lucy kissed him for a moment, before turning to Aslan.
“Aslan, is it possible?”
He huffed a laugh and nodded with a shake of his mane.
“Yes, dear one. It is possible. All is as it should be with Narnia thanks to you. But you both must be sure.”
They shared a look before turning back to Aslan.
“We’re sure,” they said in unison.
“But we must not abandon Narnia this time,” Lucy insisted. “I want to say goodbye properly.”
“Of course. You two can stay as long as you like, you have earned that. When you are ready return to this fountain and take the path behind it.”
They both peeked around as the hedge directly behind Aslan’s statue opened up. If she listened closely Lucy could hear the music of the reception.
“You’ll be returned to when you left,” Aslan answered her unspoken question.
Lucy hugged him again and Caspian joined in this time.
“Thank you, Aslan.”
“Thank you, for all you have done for Narnia. It is better for knowing you, dear heart.”
Tumblr media
Lucy and Caspian were married after six months on the day before they stepped down and allowed the high council full rule over Narnia. Surprisingly, no one begrudged them their decision. Narnia was happy and they saw that they could rule themselves and be their own heroes.
Two years to the day after Lucy arrived, they said their final goodbyes to the land that had given them so many gifts, the dearest of which was each other.
Hand in hand they entered the maze and followed the turns to the center. With one last look at the great stone lion, they walked through the hedge behind him, coming out into a dark night. Lucy was once again in her lavender bridesmaid dress. Luckily she had had the foresight to have a suit made for Caspian so he would blend in.
“Shall we?” she asked, excited to see her family after so long. Well so long for her. Just moments for them.
“Are you sure I shouldn’t just wait here until after the wedding? How are we going to explain me just turning up?” Caspian asked, daunted by the new world around him.
It was louder than Narnia, and undeniably strange. Lucy cupped his cheek, and kissed him.
“The evening is nearly over. The others will want to see you. You were at the other party and we ran into each other in the garden. You’re an old friend from our time with the professor. And I insisted that you come say hello and congratulate Susan in person.”
“You’ve thought about this,” he teased, considering the plan in his head.
“Of course. It was the first thing I thought when you threatened me with my own dagger,” she reminded him with a mocking look.
“Oh really?” Caspian chuckled, quirking an eyebrow at her.
“Yes. Right after ‘he’s here. Maybe I get to be loved after all’.”
“You are so loved, my valiant Lucy. And I shall love you forever. In every world.”
She smiled up at him, blissfully happy.
“And I you, Caspian.”
They shared one more kiss before walking hand in hand back to reception. Everything was as it should be.

An Accidental Confession
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Words: ~3.1k
Summary: In which you decided to a record a message explaining your feelings for Steve in case you didn't make it out of your mission alive. You don’t have any intention of it actually being heard by him, but you have no other choice to face your fear when it’s accidentally broadcasted across the entire compound.
Warnings: none, this is pure fluff haha with hints of a cocky steve hehe.
A/N: Some dialogue credits go to Descendants of the Sun! (yes, this is a oneshot of a scene from it, bc I love that drama with my whole heart)
Tags: Dedicating this to @sylvie-writes because she’s an absolute SWEETHEART. I LOVE YOU BB. go follow her!
Tumblr media
"Hey, Y/N, check this out!"
You glanced up from where you were furiously typing away at the computer to see Peter with a wide grin on his face. "Hm?"
"Look what I found! Mr. Stark's old speaker set!" The teenager went around to behind the table and rolled out the speaker in front of you. "It was a bit souped up, but all it really needed was some TLC and here it is, good as new!"
"Found this old thing while he was cleaning up," Tony explained, "you wanna hook your phone up and give it a go?"
"Uh...sure, why not," you shrugged, standing up and pushing your seat in, making your way over to the two of them. You took your phone out of your pocket and plugged it in.
"Check, one, two," Peter spoke into the small microphone. "Check one, two, three. Hey! It's working!"
You couldn't help but grin at his enthusiasm. "How old is this thing, anyway?"
"Older than me, that's for sure. Now play something!"
"Alright, alright. Let's see..." you scrolled through your playlists until you found the one you wanted, pressing 'play' and putting it on shuffle. "There."
"Fly Me To The Moon! May played it for me all the time when I was little," Peter exclaimed. "She always insisted I educate myself on older music. Now I'm glad she did."
Bucky and Sam stopped screaming at each other as they battled it out in Mario Kart, quieting down and humming to the beat as they held their controllers tightly. Wanda smiled to herself as she stirred the pot of soup on the stove, Bruce on the verge of falling asleep as he sipped his coffee at the kitchen island and read a news article on his phone. The energy within the compound seemed to lighten significantly as Frank Sinatra's soothing voice echoed off the walls.
You went out to the patio to relax, crossing your arms and closing your eyes as the sounds of chirping crickets and music mixed together in one soothing melody, the moonlight reflecting over the water. For a brief moment in time, you were at peace - and you relished in the temporary feeling of serenity. The 'city that never slept' was sleepy, for once. It wasn't all that late, but you were already beginning to succumb to fatigue's temptations.
But then, the song came to an end and switched off to something else.
"Hey, Steve. I hope this message never finds you because if it does...it means I'm most likely dead-" your all-too familiar voice came over the phone, thick with tears as you struggled to contain your sobs. "God, what am I even doing here? I have a gunshot wound that most likely pierced a vital organ so I'm just gonna bleed out here alone- why am I even doing this? I don't even know how much longer it'll be before you arrive with the evac team...so I just want to apologize in advance for not coming back to you like I promised. If I'd known I'd die in a foreign country, I would've lived a more carefree life instead of constantly worrying, like you always told me to just relax sometimes, I'm so, so sorry-"
Your eyes widened in realization and you rushed across the facility as fast as you could possibly go to the labs.
"Leaving words like this before dying is so uncultured- please, Steve...are you on your way? Please tell me you're on your way. If I'm really dying here I don't wanna die alone. Please hurry...I don't think I can last until you get here. Even so, you'll be the first to find me if I die, that is, if my corpse isn't dragged away or some shit like that - God, this hurts- I almost forgot how much it hurt to get shot...damn...I really underestimated the power of a bullet, huh?
Steve's bandaged fists fell to his sides, the punching bag swinging back and forth so wildly that it would've knocked him over if it weren't for his muscular figure. His brow furrowed in concern and he felt a small ache his chest upon hearing your voice crack - you never cried, and even if you did, which was extremely rare, you were good at hiding it from others.
But then a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips - you did ramble sometimes, and he found it rather adorable. It was, in fact, one of the main reasons why he admired you so much.
"FRIDAY? Where's the source of this audio?"
"It's playing from Mr. Stark's speaker in the lab, Captain," the AI responded.
"Thank you."
He unwrapped the tape from around his hands and exited the training facility, going into a light jog as he headed up to the lounge.
"If I knew that I'd die like this, then I would've told you my true feelings. That I'm in love with you and I really wished you'd kissed me when we were watching that movie together- it was Die Hard, wasn't it? I really wished you'd done something. We were sitting so close, and...I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was tempted to just run my hands through your hair and kiss you. And I almost did. I'm so in love with you, hopelessly in love with you...and if there's anything that scares me more than dying alone, it's probably thinking of a way to tell you, and the fear of being rejected by my best friend, my partner in crime-"
A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. You were in love with him? He felt his heartbeat pick up speed at the thought. He always held that small bit of hope in his heart that you'd feel the same way.
Just as Steve arrived at the labs, you came bursting through the doors with a look of sheer panic in your eyes, your face drained of all color. You quickly unplugged your phone from the speaker as he watched on in amusement.
"Want some, Mr. Stark?" Peter offered through a mouthful of popcorn, holding the bag out to his mentor. "Seems like we're in for a treat here."
"Where'd you get these, kid?" Tony questioned as he reached over and popped several kernels into his mouth. "Mm. Caramel, a classic."
"I always keep some with me. Never know when drama will break out."
Steve laughed and shook his head as you quickly turned around on your heel and sprinted out of the room. It was so unlike you to act like this - normally you were rather guarded and stoic. To see you as anything but was not only amusing, but adorable in his eyes - it was one of the many things he loved about you, in fact.
"Music...really changes a lot of things," Peter cleared his throat awkwardly.
The super-soldier cracked a smile. "I seem to be in the center of that change."
He said a few quick goodbyes went to find you, as Peter and Tony continued enjoying their popcorn together.
"Oh my god, I'm so stupid, oh my god, why did I even record that damn message," you muttered, finding yourself going back outside again. You needed to clear your head and get away from Steve. The secondhand embarrassment you just knew was waiting for you was almost too much to even think about - what would he think of you now? What would everyone else think of you?
Steve had beaten you to it and was already out there, leaning against the glass railing  with his arms crossed over his chest, wearing an amused expression on his face.
"Oh my god! You scared me!" your voice heightened to a shriek. "What the hell, Rogers? How are you here? Why are you here?"
"I know you like the back of my hand, sweetheart," he chuckled lightly. "You always come out here whenever you're restless or stressed out. Figured you'd try to flee as soon as you heard," he gestured back inside, "all that."
"That was none of your business!" you squeaked. "It was a private message, not meant for you to actually hear! It wasn't for you!"
"Well, you did announce it, publicly," he defended himself, pushing himself away from the railing and raising his hands in surrender. "And it sounded like it was for me. You said my name."
"It wasn't for you!"
"Then why'd you say Steve?"
"It's a different Steve?"
"A different Steve with a stealth suit, Quinjet, and evac team?"
"Y-yeah! B-but it's really funny. Why are you listening to other people's recordings?'
"Like I said, doll," your face flushed at the nickname, "it was broadcasted publicly. I didn't listen, I heard."
"Because you heard it, you carelessly hear it all the way through?"
He smirked. "You know, you're really cute when you're upset." He smirked, taking several steps towards you. You instinctively stepped back. "But why are you running away? When you were about to die you wanted to confess." With each step he took, you took another backwards. "But since you lived, you changed your mind?"
"Confess? That wasn't a confession. That wasn't me."
"This cell phone is yours," he held up your hand that tightly gripped your phone.
"This isn't a phone- Y/N, what the hell are you saying? Stop talking," you cursed yourself under your breath.
"It's an honor knowing I'm in your will," he said kindly.
"If you know then that's enough," you exhaled, stepping around him to leave. Steve stopped you by placing a hand out in front, before moving it to grip your wrist. You felt your skin heat up rapidly under his touch.
You gasped. "Look! Thor set the toaster on fire!"
"I'm not fooled, sweetheart."
You moved to try and leave again, but he only tightened his grip. "Whether or not it was a confession, I'm going to listen to it, so let's not run away, shall we?"
You were silent for several moments before responding, swallowing hard. "Okay. I got it. I'll answer you so let go of me and let's talk. Really."
"Really, right?"
He obeyed, releasing his hand from your wrist. You quickly moved around him and ran back inside. Steve just laughed to himself, shaking his head in disbelief.
"She finally did it," Sam nodded in approval as he and Bucky finished their Rainbow Road deathmatch. "Good game, man."
"Yeah, good game," they shook hands, "but if I'm being honest...I didn't expect things to go down like that. If anything, Steve seems like he'd be the first to confess. The way they're dancing around each other like oblivious monkeys...damn."
"Couldn't have described it better."
...
You flopped onto your bed, panting heavily as you stared up at the ceiling. Your heart was beating so fast that you felt like passing out. Maybe I'll just die like this and I won't ever have to confess for real, you thought. That sounds much better than death by blood loss from a gunshot wound.
"Hey, darling."
You sat up and let out a short scream as you saw Steve leaning against your doorframe, that damn smirk still on his face. "What the hell? You can't just ambush me like that! How long have you been standing there for?"
"Long enough," he chuckled, sliding his hands in his pockets and stepping inside. This time, you were too lazy to push him away, and just allowed him to sit down next to you at the edge of your bed. Steve propped his hand on his chin as he gazed at you, smiling.
You sighed and let your head fall into your hands. "This is all your fault."
"My fault?" Steve tilted his head in confusion. "How is this my fault?"
"Becau- never mind. I'm busy. I gotta go check up on the new lab I'm working on with Bruce."
You stood up abruptly, but he reached out and grabbed your wrist again. "I'm going to go to the labs, too. He asked me to help with a few things. I think you just found yourself an escort."
"I can go by myself, Rogers. I'm an adult," you gave him a pointed look.
"Ouch. That stung," he pretended to look hurt. "Last name calling? I thought we agreed on sappy pet names. And besides, you know what happened last time you went somewhere alone. You got shot."
"Whatever."
"Hold on," he tugged you back so that you had to sit down again. "Why do you keep running away from me? You confess your feelings in your will and then you run."
"It wasn't my will."
"You said you were scared to die alone."
"It wasn't me. Where is your bout of confidence even coming from?"
"I'm not asking how you feel about me at the moment. Don't feel bad that I found out how you feel about me. Because I'm in love with you too, and nothing can change the fact that I like you even more now."
You swallowed hard.
He smiled again. "And you look beautiful today, doll."
"Stop with the pet names," you mumbled. You couldn't stop the tremor in your tone as you spoke
"Hey hey hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Steve brought a hand up to your face, lightly skimming the tip of his thumb across your cheekbone to wipe away the tears that had fallen. "Hey. Tell me what's wrong, darling."
As soon as that last word left his lips, you lost it. A broken sob escaped from your mouth before you broke down, and he felt guilt settle in the pit of his stomach. Sure, he was lightly teasing you - but he didn't intend for his jabs to hurt you in any way. That was the last thing he wanted to do - to see you cry. He hated seeing you cry.
"Oh, God, I'm so sorry," he whispered, carefully wrapping his arms around you and pulling you to him, rubbing circles onto your back. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken the teasing so far. I'm so sorry, Y/N-"
It took nearly twenty minutes for your sniffles to die down and another ten for your crying to stop completely, but he patiently held you until you did. And when it finally stopped, it still took you several moments before you could bring yourself to meet his eyes.
"I look like a mess," you muttered, quickly ducking your head down to wipe at your nose. "I'm sorry you had to see me like this-"
"You look lovely, regardless," Steve murmured, kissing your forehead. "You'll always look beautiful in my eyes."
"You're such a sap," you mumbled, closing your eyes. "I hate you."
"You know you love me, Y/N."
"No I don't."
"That message told me otherwise. You sounded like you were pretty in love, judging by the desperate tone in your voice-"
"Shut up!"
"Make me," he challenged, a smirk appearing on his face.
You huffed and stood up, crossing your arms. "You're a pain in the ass, you know that, Rogers?"
"Watch your language-"
"Make me."
"Using my own words against me, are you?" Steve raised a brow as he stood up as well, walking towards you. You kept walking backwards until you felt your back hit the wall and internally panicked when you realized there was nowhere else to go.
"Shit," you whispered. "I'm not escaping this one, am I?"
"Not a chance," he chuckled wistfully. You felt your heart do somersaults and your stomach twist itself into knots as he met your eyes, a softened look to them that you'd never seen before - what was it? Just a few minutes earlier you'd find yourself squirming beneath his intense gaze but for some reason, you stayed put.
When his lips pressed against yours, you felt a crackle of electricity across your skin and the world fell away. It seemed as if time stopped and held its breath as it watched the two of you, his arm curving around your waist as his free hand rested at the back of your neck, pulling you flush against him. Though you were taken aback by the sudden gesture and terrified you wasted no time in reacting, sinking deeper into the kiss. You could feel him smile against your lips and fireworks exploded inside your chest - if there was a way to describe pure magic, this would definitely be it. And he felt it too - and he swore to himself that he'd never felt a bigger rush of adrenaline before until now.
You looked absolutely stunning to him in that moment as you pulled apart - with your half-closed eyes, reddened cheeks, and swollen lips - his doing, no doubt. Your gaze slipped down to his equally swollen lips and you felt your face flush at the sight. Steve was quick to catch what you were doing and pulled you back in for more.
This time, it wasn't as innocent and quick. It was more needy, passionate - months, no, years of pent-up frustration he didn't even know he had seeping into it. Years of not being able to tell you finally being poured out into one grand gesture - years of finally getting closure because he now knew the girl he'd loved for as long as he could remember felt the same way.
"Oh my fucking shit."
The two of you were practically gasping for air as you broke apart a second time to see a smug-looking Sam.
"You just- I didn't interrupted something between y'all, did I?" Sam cocked a brow. "Looked like you were this close to-"
"No," you exhaled, "we weren't."
"I'm a GENIUS for fixing that speaker! If I hadn't done so you guys never would've gotten together!" Peter squealed as he appeared by the Falcon's side. "I believe a thank you is in order!"
"I hope my timing isn't bad, but I have to ask," Steve cleared his throat and looked you straight in the eye. "that was a confession, right? And you didn't do it just because you felt compelled to. Be honest with me."
You let out a sigh of defeat. "Yeah...it was."
He broke into a gorgeous, million-dollar grin that made you weak at the knees. He leaned down, lips ghosting over yours as if he was going to kiss you again - but pulled back, much to your disappointment.
"I guess I'm the victor of this battle, huh," he whispered before releasing his hold on you and walking out, leaving you to stand there utterly shell-shocked and speechless as Peter and Sam began teasing you.

hello, hello! i’m looking for a specific fic, and i hoped you or your followers could help? modern wei ying is following a webcomic about mo xuanyu/lan wangji, and he chokes to death while reading and wakes up in the body of wei wuxian. wwx is a minor character whose murder in the first chapter kickstarted the whole plot, and wei ying is desperately trying to stay alive and somehow ends up falling for lwj in the meanwhile.

Anon 4:  ahhh I've been searching for a fic and I hope you can help me! I think the fic hasn't updated for a while or the author gave up on it? I'm not 100% sure. It's about a modern Wei Wuxian "time traveling" or being summoned back into the novel/donghua/drama world (idk which exactly) but he doesn't remember anything from that world? I think I remember him being an orphan and going to college but I haven't been able to find it
The first one to spring to mind is Down the Rabbit Hole by suibian (leen_go) [my post here], an unfinished work.  Does that look familiar?

It’s a Modern AU WangXian fic (pretty sure it’s f/f, but I don’t remember exactly) where Lan Wangji says that they like bunnies and Wei Wuxian wildly misinterprets that and gets them a dildo…I think? I think it gets to the point where Wei Wixian thinks Lan Wangji has multiple sex toys and Wei Wuxian is just sitting there during a conversation with Lan Xichen in which Lan Xichen keeps bringing up the bunnies and Wei Wuxian is just...panicking. Sadly, that’s all I can remember. Thanks in advance!

Some Family is Found
Tumblr media
Summary: A collection of vignettes about the Higurashi family, from Single Dad Souta, schoolyard fights, blended family of three then four, and learning to let go and let fate take control.
"Papa Souta!"
Yanked from sleep with a harsh gasp, Souta was already half rolled out of bed and running before his eyes had fully opened. He knew that tone, scared and frail and small, and his body had become well trained over the last year to respond to it immediately.
He dashed quickly from his room to hers, throwing open the door and flinging himself inside right to her little bed where she sat wide eyed and terrified much like she had been when he'd first laid eyes on her.
"Towa! I'm here. You're safe. It was just another nightmare."
No sooner had he sat next to her had she thrown herself into his arms, shaking and snuggling while he crooned wordlessly and petted her soft, white hair.
The first time she'd called him Papa had been a night just like this one. A handful of months passed with her in his care and every night she woke in a fright, babbling about sisters and fires and someone named Setsuna. She'd clung to him just this way, rubbed her sniffling little nose into his shoulder and called him Papa with a shaky sigh that bound his heart right up.
Her nightmares came further apart from that night on, but every once in a while he was still needed to chase away the darkness.
"It's okay, it will all be alright." He shushed gently, swaying her back and forth while he scratched at her scalp and rubbed her back. Eventually she quieted down and then went limp with sleep again. He tucked her back into her bed, smoothed the hair back from her forehead and smiled at the peace that returned to her little cherub face.
He checked her alarm clock and sighed; it was early enough that she wouldn't normally be up, but his own alarm clock was about to go off, signaling his painfully early study hour. He was almost done with his degree and then waking before the sun could, hopefully, become a thing of the past. With one last look at the sweetly sleeping face of his little daughter, Souta quietly left her room to return to his own.
———
The bell chimed the end of the day and a flurry of tiny bodies rushed passed him, giggling and squealing and eager to leave the school yard behind until tomorrow. Souta gulped and straightened his shoulders before striding across the lawn and entering the doors once the last of the children had filtered out.
He'd spent enough of his own childhood here to know where he was going, and his legs carried him unconsciously to the principals office where he'd been called in for an important meeting.
He steeled himself at the door and took another deep breath before opening it dipping his head in greeting to the principal and eyeing the wilted form of the white haired toddler he'd been asked to come in to discuss.
His heart panged at the sight of her, his normally vibrant girl so small and sad and dejected, one of her pigtails drooping and a bright red scuff mark marring her round cheek.
'Oh no...'
"Higurashi-San, Thank you for coming."
"Of course." He replied, sitting in the empty seat across from the large desk.
A pair of sad red eyes shifted his way and he smiled softly, reassuringly.
The principal finally looked up from her paper work and blinked, looking perplexed before adjusting her glasses.
"I'm so sorry, there must be some confusion, I believe I requested that Towa-Chan's mother or father come in to speak today."
Souta winced internally, but kept his expression genial and placid.
"Yes, you did. There's no confusion. I am Higurashi Souta, Towa-Chan's father."
The principal blinked again and cleared her throat, looking between he and little Towa with a glint in her eye he didn't appreciate.
"My, you certainly look very young to be a father." She said crisply, and Souta bristled and struggled to keep his tone polite.
"I'm sure it doesn't surprise you to know I hear that quite a lot."
"Yes well. Let's get to the point, shall we? Towa-Chan has been exhibiting some shocking behavior of late. We are very concerned."
"As are we, she's made us aware that she's been on the receiving end of some unfair teasing."
The principal sniffed and shuffled her papers before folding her hands primly.
"Be that as it may, we can not tolerate violence against our other children, and Towa has instigated several physical altercations this week alone. Unless something drastic is done, she is risking expulsion."
His eyes widened and he sat up straighter in his seat, meeting the principal's gaze unflinchingly before looking once again on Towa. She still didn't look up, staring at her feet and making herself as small as possible. It broke his heart, and he heaved a sigh before looking back to the principal with a smile.
"I understand. I'll talk with her tonight. Thank you for your time."
He stood and scooped Towa up from her seat. She curled into him and he strode quickly out of the building. He stopped on the stairs to switch her over to his back, and after hooking his arms behind her knees she rested her head against his shoulder and sighed a forlorn sigh.
"I'm sorry Papa Souta. I caused so much trouble."
Her little voice, small and broken, tore into him, and he wondered if he might be doing something wrong.
He knew he was young to be a father, especially to a school aged child like Towa. She was barely six, but he wasn't quite out of university just yet, and was far from the ideal situation for having small, helpless people depending on you. He still had so much to learn himself.
"Don't worry about it Towa-Chan. No one wants to be picked on. You just need to remember your strength. You aren't like the other kids, you're much stronger."
"Okay." It was barely above a whisper, and Souta hated for her to sound like that.
The rest of the journey home was made in heavy silence, but Mama Higurashi swept in to lend her gentle touch and Souta watched Towa brighten a little under her attention.
Cookies and tea and an affectionate pat on the head as her grandmother helped her color a picture soon had Towa back on track and Souta sighed in relief.
"Why don't you go and study for your upcoming final and leave us girls to our own business, hm?"
"Thanks mama."
——
Mama Higurashi tearfully hung the picture she'd taken just a few nights before on the wall, brimming with love and pride.
Souta smiled back from the center of the frame draped in his graduation gown with Towa beaming atop his shoulders, his graduation cap covering her white hair.
It's not what she ever expected the photo of his university graduation would look like, but she glanced at the high school graduation photo of her firstborn daughter and grinned.
Both of her children seemed fated to walk interesting paths that twisted off from the rigid one set in place by society at large.
She couldn't say she was anything but proud.
A squeal of delight drew her attention to the window nearby and she watched indulgently as Souta scooped Towa up before falling to the ground with her, tickling her sides while she laughed and wiggled away.
A thread of worry wrapped around her heart then and she said a silent prayer that this new school year coming up for her would be easier than the last.
A new school, a fresh start, hopefully her granddaughter would fare better with the students at this school than she had before. She was such a dear girl with an unshakable sense of justice that she already couldn't help but fight tooth and nail for.
The sun glowed off her little white pony tails and her smile stretched freely across her face, and Mama Higurashi found herself wondering not for the first time if they hadn't ended up adopting Kagome and Inuyasha's child.
She looked very little like them aside from her hair color, but she certainly had Kagome's sense of right and wrong and Inuyasha's strength to back it up.
The likelihood of that was low, especially as she'd only ever spoken of someone named Setsuna.
"Well, time to call them in for dinner."
———
"I'm sorry Papa Souta. I cause you so much trouble..."
"It's alright Towa. I was thinking this other school would be better for you anyway. They have a wrestling team!"
Her eyes still held a glimmer of uncertainty and guilt, and though he was was stressed and concerned, he didn't want her shouldering such feelings all the time.
He knew she remembered her life before he'd found her on his front lawn, that she'd come from somewhere else before they'd taken her in, before he'd decided raise her as his own child, and he had a suspicion that she feared he might one day grow tired of her escapades and be done with her.
But he just couldn't. She may not have come from him, but she was his.
He was going to stick with her no matter what.
We have to go pick up your uniform next week, they have several colors to choose from, is there one you like best?"
He handed her the brochures and watched her nose scrunch up at the list of pictures of skirts with different colors and numbers of pleats, and bit his lip to keep from laughing outright.
"Um, no, I don't have any preferences."
"You're sure?"
"Anything is fine, really!"
"Alright. Well, have you been practicing with the sword you found with grandpa the other day?"
Suddenly her face lit up like the sun, and Souta sat back and listened while she detailed all the things she'd been practicing that she'd seen on various internet videos.
Her last teacher had admonished him for allowing her to peruse such interests.
'It's wildly unlady like. You should not be encouraging swordplay from a girl who already can't control her violent urges with her peers!'
She'd even thrown in a barb about her lack of a mother.
But while Souta agreed that Towa needed to be less violent while at school, he couldn't imagine discouraging her from the things she loved, even if they weren't the most feminine.
She bounced around the room, showing him some of the swings and stabs she'd nearly mastered and he couldn't help but think her Aunt would be so proud to watch her follow in her footsteps.
———-
"Grammy, when will Papa Souta be home again?"
"Oh much later I think Dear. I'll be tucking you in tonight, is that alright?"
Towa nodded solemnly but then burst into bright giggles when she saw her grandmother pull the secret stash of cookies out from the back of the cleaning cabinet.
"It's a big night Towa, what say we celebrate early?"
Mama Higurashi sat on the couch and let Towa settle in beside her before opening the box and letting her select two.
"One for each hand!" She chirped, smiling up at her, red eyes glimmering. It was their long standing tradition and she cherished how much her rapidly growing granddaughter still enjoyed it. She was now teetering on the edge of childhood, a vibrant girl rapidly approaching her pre-teen years.
"One for each hand my darling."
"So... you think she'll say yes?"
Mama eyed her granddaughter for a moment, but her face was unreadable.
"I do. She's a lovely woman."
"Yeah. She is."
"Do you not wish for her to join the family?"
Towa crunched into her cookie and chewed thoughtfully for a moment.
"It's not that. What if she doesn't like living with me all the time?"
"Oh Towa honey, Moe-Chan loves you! She's probably the most understanding person we've ever known. She's certainly taken everything in stride."
"She makes Papa Souta happy."
"She does. You know most of all he wants you to be happy though, right dear?"
"And I want him to be happy too. So yes, I hope she says yes tonight." Towa replied, leaning into her grandmother's side.
"Can we watch my favorite movie tonight?"
"That awful horror film? No chance young lady!"
Towa erupted into giggles while her grandmother put on calm, soothing movie they both enjoyed, and Towa drifted off into sleep feeling safe and content.
———-
Moe Higurashi hovered awkwardly in the doorway between the kitchen and living room, watching Towa as she sat still as a statue at the dining table, head down and pillowed on her arms. She heaved a tired sigh, and Moe's heart constricted.
She'd known before she married Souta that his daughter had many troubles at school. She was strong and sure and didn't stand aside when others were being mistreated. Thus, she was often a target for those who wanted to prove themselves stronger than her.
Towa had started another new school just this week, and already the fighting had started again. She could practically feel the stress and guilt oozing off her young step-daughter's young shoulders, and she wanted so badly to do something about it without overstepping any boundaries.
An idea struck her and she stepped quietly away to retrieve her violin from her room. Towa had not moved an inch when she returned, and in fact didn't seem to be aware of anything outside of her own troubled thoughts.
Moe hesitated for one more moment before delicately clearing her through and startling Towa out of her funk.
"May I sit here please?"
Towa nodded and watched silently as Moe took the seat across from hers and began tuning the strings of her violin. And then, without a word, she brought the instrument up, held it in place, and pulled the bow across the strings. She played something low and soothing, something that filled the room as well as all the stormy spots in Towa's mind until she felt the tension melt from her.
She put her head back down, but this time Moe noted with pride that her shoulders were noticeably less rigid. She continued to play even after Towa lifted her head and listened with a smile.
———-
There had been many times in the month since bringing his new baby home that Souta thought his heart would burst open with love and pride and happiness, and this time was no different.
Little Mei, still so small and sleepy and new, was reclined comfortably on a soft blanket his mother had knitted. She was fast asleep, swaddled tightly into a little bundle, and Towa had stretched out on the floor next to her, gazing lovingly down at her and running her fingers over the soft, wispy hairs on her head. She was whispering something, something he couldn't quite make out, but the look of devotion on her face toward her new little sister took his breath away. They were as mismatched a set as he'd ever seen. Mei's soft brown hair and eyes contrasted sharply to the burning red of Towa's eyes, or the shock of silver that grew from her head, but they both lived deep inside his heart.
Moe entered from the opposite side of the room from the kitchen with a flour stained apron around her waist.
"There are my girls! Towa, I've brought you a cookie fresh from the oven."
"Thank you Mama Moe." She whispered in return, careful not to wake her sister, and Souta watched Moe valiantly attempt to keep her own emotions in check. He knew how much it meant to her that Towa had grown so close to her.
"Let me know if you need anything."
Moe went back into the kitchen, and Souta took another indulgent moment to watch his daughters begin forging their bond.
————
Souta held his smile until the moment the shining portal winked out of existence, and then his expression fell and he grabbed desperately for his mother's hand.He squeezed it and she responded immediately.
"Souta, what's wrong my son?"
"How-" he gulped around the fear rapidly growing and choking him, watched Moe scoop up a crying Mei, silent tears tracking down her own face, and knew the dam on his emotions would break soon. "How did you do it mama? How did you... how did you let Kagome go over and over and over? How were you always okay with this?!"
Mama sighed and rubbed his back, staring off into nothing for a moment as old fears and anxieties swam back up from the recesses of her memories.
"Come inside my dears, let me make you some tea and try to ease your worries. At least, let me help you try to manage them better than I was able."
Souta hung back until the others had filed inside and looked back at the place his daughter had just disappeared without a trace. He'd watched his sister vault over the well time and again and remembered the distant fears he'd had for her as a child.
But she'd had Inuyasha, his larger than life living legend brother-in-law who he was convinced could beat any opponent conceivable.
This time, he wasn't a child anymore, and this wasn't his sister.
This was his child, one he'd practically grown up with he'd been so young when he'd adopted her.
And though he knew what she was, the very same sort of being his childhood hero was, still he worried.
For her safety, for her wellbeing, for her life.
He closed his eyes, and for a moment he prayed, that she would remain safe and unharmed, that she would find what she was looking for, that she would solve her quest, that she would return to them.
And then he wiped the tears from his face, and turned from the Sacred Tree that had taken her away, and he walked inside, trailing pieces of his heart behind him.

FANCY DATE (pt. 1/?) JAVIER x READER
Tumblr media
AN RDR2 ONESHOT
-   FANCY DATE (pt. 1/?) (Javier x Fem Reader)
WC: 2,800
SUMMARY:
You and Javier have a fancy date planned, but unlike him, you haven’t always been the best dresser. He takes you to the Saint Denis tailor to “help” you out. (BASICALLY... SHOPPING WITH YOUR BF JAVIER)
CONTENT:
- fLUFF!!! - but ummm... a bit more hOT AND STEAMY THAN MY OTHER STORIES WILL BE
NOTE:  some parts of this is lowkey inspired by the AO3 story HorseFeathers... (sorry, but I loved that shit, js)
·· ° . • . . . ° ✸* . ✶ ° °°            "What's wrong with what I'm wearing, huh?" You rested a hand at your hip, while your other hand held a silver pail. You were in the middle of chores when Javier pulled you aside to discuss his weekend plans with you. You were touched that he thought of it all, but you were suspicious about needing ‘fancier attire’.
"Oh, nothing, nothing—but um..." He tilted his head, talking carefully as if he didn't want to offend. You had a grey shirt on with the sleeves rolled at your forearms. It had a simple design embroidered into it — but that was all it was — simple. You wore a long, silk skirt along with it. It had been a pretty thing... once. It was red, hemmed up to your knees to show a bit of your black leather boots beneath; but now it was faded by the sun, worn by the work, and in some areas there were small tears and rips.
"I can get these stitched in no time," You say, following his eyes and feeling a little embarrassed. "There's really no need to—,"
Before you could object, he was scooping at your waist and pulling you close to him. You dropped your pail and it rolled away on the floor. You were about to complain, when Javier suddenly held your face so you couldn’t look away. His touch was gentle though, just like his tone. "Although you'd look beautiful wearing old rags, mi amor, what man would I be, to not spoil you? Hmm? And you can't say no to me this time,"
Lost in his brown eyes, you knew you really couldn't say no. Besides, you remembered all the different occasions he had offered to buy you things. To take you places. To dote upon you. You were just so difficult.
"Well, Javi...” You still tried to protest, “I do have other dresses, you know—?”
He spoke over you, as if he didn't hear. "Hmm, you would be so stunning with a new ensemble. So stunning with pearls at your neck. Matching earrings... a shawl over your shoulders. I could you get in a white dress too someday—,"
"Alright, alright," You say, flushing a deep red. "Let's just get it over with...”
Javier smiled wide. "Vamanos, mi hermosa,”
*        *        *
When you and Javier get to Saint Denis, your heart ached for him. You noticed all the staring, heard all the racial slurs being whispered as you and him passed. You glare back at them, grinding your teeth in your mouth. You want to do more, however. You want to turn back and throw up a-not-so subtle gesture but it's almost like Javier could read your mind, sense your distress, because he grabbed your hand and squeezed it tight. You felt comforted, and paid a lot less attention to it everyone else. Though it might've worked for a little while... you had just about reached your limit when you two walked into the tailor.
"Are you lost, sir?" A voice said, colored with disgust.
You hardly looked at the guy who said it, before you spoke up, loud and curt. "No," You answered, before Javier could. You pulled him close to you. "We're not,"
The man was old with a bald spot at the top of his head. He looked shocked by your words. He studied the both of you, still doubtful. "Well... a lot of what we have in stock here is quite expensive, are you sure that—?"
Having dealt with these kinds of things all his life, Javier might have known how to keep his cool. But you didn't. You pulled a revolver from your satchel and held it in front of the man's face.
"Just close the shop and give us fifteen minutes,"
When you did it, Javier sighed. He couldn't help but grin a little though, seeing you so stoic and resolute. A part of you wished you were like him in more ways that one... sure, at the end of the day you may come out dressed significantly better but there was no changing your ill-temper and boldness. He knew it himself.
"Knowing us, mi amor," He chuckled lightly, "I'd say we need a little longer than that," He didn't try to stop you as he passed, instead he was already scanning the place.
You agreed with a shrug and looked at the cashier. The man had his arms thrown up in the air and was staring at you with wide eyes. You smiled fleetingly. "Just keep quiet until we're done, please?" You looked to his side and saw a door. It must have been a closet.
While gesturing with your gun, you told him to get in there. The man nodded more than once, gulping as he obeyed you, twisting open the door and vanishing inside.
"Alright..." You say, stuffing your gun away. “What’s this expensive stock?”
Your eyes glossed over the mannequins. Ridiculous hats stood on display and you flicked your fingers at a long feather sewed onto one of them. You rarely ever went shopping much — and never in a fancy place like this. Seeing the options, though, a part of you felt like you weren't missing out too much.
“Javier,” You groaned in annoyance. “I don't know about this...”
"Ah, be quiet,” He said over his shoulder. “This’ll be fine,”
You went on for a few minutes struggling to find something you liked. It didn’t take long for Javier, though.
He had something in his hand and he was waving you over to him. “C’mere and try this for me,”
        “Me?”
        “No, the tailor... yes, you!”
You walk over and look at what he was holding with a grimace. When you made no move to take it, he cocked his head.
“Do you need me to put it on for you, or—?”
Half-annoyed by his teasing, you snatched the dress and set it beside you as you began to undress.
You had to crane your neck to the floor every time you undid the ties of your corset. But once it was off and your blouse dropped loosely at your shoulders, you felt yourself being pulled away. Without warning, your back was against the wall and Javier had his arms at your sides, keeping you there.
“Or...” He said, smiling at the sight of you trapped by him.
“Do you need me to undress you...?” His voice trailed. And so did his hands. He went from kissing your open mouth, to grazing your bare shoulders.
“Javier,” You said, stiffening behind his touch. Although you didn’t want him to stop, you couldn’t bring yourself to match his building aggression. “I pulled a gun on the tailor to be in here... I think we should be quick, don’t you?”
He laughed against your neck. “Oh, I can be quick—,”
        “That’s not what I meant—,”
“No?” Your blouse fell lower and he started kissing your collarbone.
        ”Javier!” You hissed.
”Ay, I’m just toying with you,” He withdrew, turning on his heels. He was chuckling to himself while you rolled your eyes, flushing with heat. You held the dress close to your chest as you watched him look through the store, whistling.
He threw two more dresses your way and you sighed, taking them into you arms as you went to head into the changing room.
"Why don't you just change in here?" You heard him say.
"It would be too much excitement for you, it seems,"
He made a tsk sound but let you go.
You went to the other room. You had no trouble... until you slipped inside the new dress and found that you couldn't tie up the laces at your back on your own. With pursed lips you shuffled out to get his help. He smirked devilishly when you did. And boy, did he take his time with it. He was humming, his fingers brushing the bare skin of you back. It sent tingles down your spine, but you tried not to show it. You knew what he was doing. Knew he was stalling. After a few seconds you folded your arms across your chest impatiently.
"Having trouble?" You huff, your voice thick was sass. Just as you said it, he took the strings and gave them a tug - one so sudden and forceful it made you yelp.
"Fun—actually," He corrected, tying a knot and speaking close to your ear.  "Now turn around,"
You did as he said with a deep scowl. When you turned, Javier had a hand at his chin and his eyes moved over you lazily.
"Mi amor,” He drawled after some time of silence. “You’re so sexy when you're angry—,”
"Oh, save it. Is it good enough or what?"
"Sure, it’s beautiful... but all I want to do is take the dress right off you again—,"
Before he could touch you, you stormed back into the changing room to see for yourself. In there, you realized the dress looked a lot better than it did when handed to you. Javier had an eye for this kind of stuff, and you couldn’t deny it. But the longer you looked, you found that you didn't feel comfortable in it. It seemed to much. Too cluttered. It just wasn't you.
You told him that — and he was more than happy to help you out of the dress and keep looking. Every now and then, though, you’d feel him from behind you, pulling you back against his own body. Sure, he was a lot more helpful you could’ve hoped — but he also had a habit of getting carried away, too. You had to cut him some slack though. It wasn’t every day you two could be alone. You yourself wanted something more than the simple pecks you would give each other at camp, but still you knew that someone had to have an ounce of restraint. You had to remember... your goal was to tease him just like he was teasing you... and this date tomorrow? You wanted it to be special. You couldn’t spoil all the fun now.
The next time he made a move on you, he had taken you in by the waist and slumped into a chair, bringing you down with him. He had you in his lap, your legs hanging over the arm rest. He kissed you long enough to leave you breathless and when you felt his hands moving over you, you heart was racing wildly. Before he could get too far, however, you stopped them.
“Javi,” You whispered into him, drawing back.
“What is it? Am I hurting you?”
Far from it. But you didn’t tell him that. Instead, you sighed, turning away from a kiss — knowing fully well how that drove him crazy — and tapped your fingers lightly against his chest.
“Javi, if we were to... you know...”
“Yes...?” He asked, the slight impatience in his voice making you crack a smile.
         “Well... I...”
         “Yes, Y/N...?"
“Well, I wouldn’t want to in place where an older man is an earshot away,” You slipped off his lap and stood in front of him, shaking your head like you were talking to a child. "Can you control yourself, please?"
Javier lolled back into the seat, looking upset, but huffing in agreement. "Fine,"
Though he finally stopped trying to grab at you, it didn’t lessen that lusty look he had in his eyes whenever you put something new on and went to show him.
You tried on a few more dresses, skirts and blouses, some you picked, some he picked — but you still felt yourself getting more and more annoyed.
“You can’t just say you like them all,” You chided Javier, yanking at the skirt of your dress so it laid straight against your legs as you stood before him.
He looked confused. “But I do,”
“Oh, please, that last dress had pink ruffles—,” You grimaced incredulously, but he cut you off.
“On anyone else I’d say no. But you — you can pull it off," Javier gave a shake of his head. "Y’know... I don't think you're aware of your own beauty, mi amor. You’re always trying to hide it, but there's just too much. And dressing modestly like you usually do... it isn’t gonna stop people from looking... it never stopped me,"
You start to argue, but stammer and shut your mouth. You found it hard to believe him when he said things like that. You never thought of yourself as beautiful, let alone all that attractive. You knew, however, that if Javier caught you doubting his compliments or being critical of yourself and your looks, he’d go on an even longer rant of flattery and praise, with sadistic threats in between. Then he'd end it off with saying he ‘was only trying to make you love yourself just as much as he loved you’. Your heart fluttered and not wanting him to have to go off again — you sighed.
“Alright, fine... but eventually you’ll have to make up your mind up and help me pick just one. I—I don’t want to go back to camp with 10 pounds of clothes.”
“Fair enough,” He said. “But you be honest with yourself, alright? You’re saying no to these dresses because it’s not what you’re used to. But if you know you like it, then hermosa... it’s all yours,”
A few more minutes passed until you had finally pulled into something that made you stop and stare at your reflection. It might’ve been the one... but a part of you was still unsure.
When you came out, Javier was sitting down at the table, rocking back in the chair. Once he turned to you, he stopped rocking and let the chair fall hard against the floor.
“That’s it. That’s the one,” He said, pointing at you.
“Oh, c’mon," You started to blush. "You’re just saying that because you want to get out of here...”
He snorted. “You’re kidding, right? You’re over here strutting around half-naked and you think I want this to be over with?” He stood up and dragged you over to the mirror again.
"Look. You know it, too. I see it in your eyes. You like this one... admit it,” He was beside you, brushing his fingers through your hair as you looked at yourself again. You started to smile with him.
“Aha! Eres una preciosa mujer, lo sabes también,”
You tried to force the smile down as he planted kisses all over it. “But vanity is a sin, Mr. Escuella—!” (You knew bringing that up always drove him crazy too).
“Oh, shut up. Killing's a sin too, but it’s just part of our lives, ain’t it?”
He gave you another kiss. Then you went out picking the smaller things, shoes and accessories, to complete your new ensemble. When you were done — you found that Javier was still browsing as well.
“Wait—why are you looking for more clothes?”
He almost looked offended. “We have to match,” He said to you, before continued. Soon Javier had found a black suit, with a tie and vest that went beautifully with the colors of your own outfit
And finally; the two of you were done. A part of you was against the idea of bothering to wake up the tailor at the front of the store, but the better of you had you doing it anyways. You knocked on the door with your revolver and let the man out. You had found him in the fetal position and you almost felt bad.
“Sorry,” You tell him, "but we’re ready to pay now,”
The man looked baffled, walking back to the register as you smiled sweetly.
Javier pulled a wad of cash out of his vest pocket and slapped it onto the counter. You weren’t sure of how much it was, but you did know it was enough to get the owner drooling and Javier grinning as smug as a peacock.
He hit the guy's shoulder. Although it was nothing more than a teasing hit, the man looked like he had jumped out of his skin. Javier smirked even bigger. “Why don't you keep the change?"
You kept your gun on the man as he collected the money. "Oh, and... this never happened, understood? You never saw us,"
        The man only nodded.
Then Javier hooked you by the arm and hauled you out of there. His smile grew bigger as you both hit the streets.
“Look at that... they’re already staring,” He whispered close to your ear.
“I know. Thanks a lot — it’s all ‘cause of your skin color,” You said sarcastically.
He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and snatched up your hand. Your fingers interwove with his and he planted a kiss on them.
“Te amo, mi amor, even though you are difficult,”
“I know I am,” You smirked. “Por eso te amo, Javier..."

The Truths Found On Petram Viridios IV (4/?)
Tumblr media
A/N: Not only is this a long chapter, but I found a way to incorporate a prompt given to me by @hoodoo12 almost two years ago I think. Also, @twenties-sweetheart I incorporated what led the reader and Zeta-7 dating. This fic is almost done. I think there's only one or two chapters left. Hope you guys enjoy!
Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
_________
Chapter 4 : Your Answer
You remembered when you didn't love him; a time when you had hoped he'd be a father figure and a friend who you could play card games with on Tuesdays. You used to not know him; though once you did there was no turning back. You used to not need him, but you didn't know how you couldn't. It used to be a simple crush, but he already loved you from the start.
Perhaps, you had always known, but you didn't want to see it; you had wanted to know, but your brain at times didn't want to believe it. You thought words like his were meant for fairy princesses who lived in high towers above the heavens, for royals and the knights who attended to them; for anyone else….except you. It just didn't seem possible that this man could want you, but he did and explained for the last half hour as to why.
“That’s...that’s amazing!” you exclaimed despite yourself. “You really feel that way about me?”
He nodded, his face still flushed. “I do...I-I-I love you. Do you,” he gulped. “do y-you love me?”
Of course you did, you had said so a few times already, but he was going to need a better explanation; to be reminded continually. You screwed your mouth to the side, wondering how you could put it delicately. “Well…there's too much to say, and I know it would never be enough, but I can try. Oh, and if I start to wax poetic, then let's just say it's the writer in me trying to get out. Ricardo,” you paused, encouraging him to sit down because the poor man looked ready to shake out of his skin. “what I feel is beyond love; it's our souls dancing and singing in the night, moonlit kisses, and disappearing during daybreak. Why it's not even serendipitous, but a luxurious splendor you shower me in, day in and day out, with breaks which threaten to tear me into bits and madden me. It's an adventure," he perked up at this; it was familiar territory. "with discoveries and revelations that nip at my inward parts, and pains me with equal parts desperation, fear, and gladness." Caressing his lips with your fingertips, he sighed happily." You fill my mouth with bliss, working peace along the curve of my cheek, and color my world with mystical, intelligent sayings. Ineffable creature, your veracity; how you express yourself so honestly, I'm surprised the whole world hasn't fallen in love with you. Though, I'm glad you reserved yourself just for me.”
Placing a kiss behind his ear, he made a funny noise, but you continued. “To say I love you my dear Zeta-7 isn't enough, for you are as much of myself as I am of you. Like I've said before, I'll remind you as much as you need me to.”
“H-h-h-h-how do you know? When - when was it that y-y-you started to see me differently?”
The question really struck you as odd considering it wasn't in any of his usual tones; he had seemed so sure of himself earlier, and now self-doubt peaked it's little head out. It was solemn, in a faraway voice, followed by a frown, and the deepening of the lines in his forehead. You stood up, seeing as he seemed upset, and he took this opportunity to go and make some tea; it was one of his coping mechanisms. Soon the scent of lavender filled the house; he returned and set down the cups carefully so as not to spill it.
“Oh,” he frowned; a bit tired from the emotional rollercoaster he had been in for most of the day. “I'm s-s-so sorry. If only I-I kept things simple, then it wouldn't have gotten so complicated.”
“It's okay,” you whispered. “we're both a little flustered. It….it really took a lot of courage to say what you had said earlier. So you shouldn't apologize for being human.”
“But I'm - I'm still so sorry.”
You moved your chair as close as you could, stretching out to work your fingers through his soft hair, and managed to find the beginnings of silver strands, but you said nothing of it. “You should have seen how you looked when you told me you loved me. You were so earnest and charming."
He reached out to take your hand and place it upon his heart. It was beating wildly, almost dangerously you thought. You waited until he calmed a little, and when the heavy blush and the redness of his ears softened, you knew that it was time. He really was too much, too good for you, too lovely, and you sincerely hoped you wouldn't offend him. “I hope you're ready, cause this really is going to be a long story. I think by telling it, it'll make my answer to your proposal more believable.”
________________
For years, you two had lived in the same town, in the same neighborhood, only houses away from each other. It was funny how you two hadn't met before, though Rick would later tell you it was because of his job. At the time, you would say you were old enough to know what heartbreak felt like, as well as what warmth and kindness should be; though you hadn't been in any sort of serious relationship. Like any woman your age, you had dreams of meeting someone, but for the most part, your love life wasn't first and foremost on your mind; you were busy trying to get through everyday.
So when you met Zeta-7, it never occurred to you how much he would someday come to mean to you; let alone how much your life would change. Now, it had taken a while, a little longer then you'd care to admit. It certainly wasn't love at first sight, for under the set of circumstances in which you two had met, Rick had come off as a friendly old man. But of course, after helping you carry groceries, a cup of tea, and a ukulele song, you warmed to him and became fast friends.
At first, you were hesitant in allowing him into your home; you'd seen enough Dateline to make you cautious. So, you two would meet on your porch on a regular basis, though it was not long before you felt safe enough to let him come over and repair small appliances; it was fascinating watching him tinker. And when he wasn't too busy, you'd go and see what he was doing in the garage. Perhaps you should have known then that he was different, but you had no point of comparison, and just went with it.
Sometimes, you two would just watch TV or have an occasional dinner at Shoney’s, or a late-night ice cream on your front porch. And you'd listen to his laughter; how his happy noises seemed to fill up the house. You were delighted by the nuances of his gentle voice, and at night, he'd tell about the stars, going into detailed explanations of constellations and about other heavenly bodies. It made you wonder what was out there, and it only fed your curiosity. You were comforted by his warm presence, thinking it was nice to have a father like figure around again, to fill up the time, and carry on long, meaningful conversations with. His eye for detail and selective word choice made most of your conversations laid back but stimulating.
Whether it was in your house, in his kitchen, or a quick cup of tea in the garage, he enjoyed sharing his homemade brews and you enjoyed drinking them. While at first glance he seemed simple, you took quick notice of his genteel manners, in the way he talked, in his general presence which you found was pleasing. It did not take long to notice that he was a learned man, with various degrees which hung in the left corner of his living room; he was actually a doctor in several meanings of the word. Perhaps in all meanings of the word.
Watching him mutter to himself, blissful, carefully piecing together a device that did who-knows-what filled him with joy. And you had always assumed that anyone above thirty-five - at least from what sense and sensibility told you - could not have any passion left, but you saw it every time he showed you a new invention; you saw him as he should be. As though he were this character who stepped off a page, you found yourself growing ever so curious about his thoughts, feelings, and machinations of his wonderful mind. You wanted to get close, to know him better, and he took this positively as you wanting to be best friends. And when he held you in his arms for the first time, you knew that he had ruined men for you. He wasn't supposed to feel so strong, and his arms weren't supposed to be sure, and hold you warmly, and most of all, there wasn't supposed to be a flutter.
Now having it formed in your mind that he was indeed a man, you could not smother your curiosity, though still, you tried to conceal it. It felt good to feel cared for again, and you didn't want to threaten it. Still, the affection you held for him was not the kind one felt for a parent. And your hopes and dreams were shattered, with this sudden, intense awareness of him, conscious of every breath he took, of his mobile features, recognized every nuance in his reflections.
All those times when you'd watch him dance in the kitchen, swaying about, more spritely than others your own age, you'd laugh, and he’d ask you to join him. And when your hands touched, it was like a current passed through you, and that giddiness would last all day. Those hands, which could create worlds, whisk a cream, or trace pictures in the sand, you could hold them in yours for eternity. Even longer, if what he spoke of at times was true.
If he had weeks where work kept him busy, he would call you, and you'd drop what you were doing to listen; he was always so excited to hear your voice; it lightened up your day. Or when he finally saw you after a few days, he'd greet you with a warm hug, and you'd return with equal enthusiasm. At times, you felt as though neither wanted to let go and held on to each other longer than what was platonically acceptable, but you'd pretend as though nothing happened, even if your heart was screaming. Why you'd almost lose yourself in his grasp.
As a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, you never felt as though there were any hidden agendas, or that he had a pervy attraction to you. On the contrary, you felt like the pervert for feeling all giddy and excited whenever he spoke with enthusiastic intelligence or showed you his experiments. There were times when you'd reach out and pat him on the back, telling him he had done such a good job, and he'd gift you with his winning smile, which caused unusual thoughts to cross your mind, and it messed you up. What was he to you?
Whether you were at home, or you sat in his home for a tea party, you knew something was the matter with you. You were a mess of feelings, of messy, happy, effervescent feelings, which you expressed in your work, in your writing. Harmless thoughts, which lingered and filled the contents of a novel. It was the story of a young woman who had fallen in love with her older, mute neighbor. In your head, you reasoned that your character was nothing like him, that the older man, as brilliant as he was in mathematics, science, and botany, who expressed himself through his actions, and kindness was made up. Perhaps your readers thought the same, but the modest ebook sales only reinforced that maybe there was something to it.
Missed glances, brief moments where you touched, awkward laughs, and a heart heavy feeling sitting on your chest; he was always on your mind. In between your issues, when you were doubtful, he'd reassure you of your capabilities, and when he felt lacking, you'd remind him of his genius. And while there were many moments which had been lovable, which were dear to you, you replayed the times that were nearest to your ideals; of what fits into your daydreams. You're not sure when, but it had been you who started to flirt regularly, and watch him blush, stammer, and get flustered; it gave you an odd thrill knowing it had been you who had caused him to feel as such, but then it would trouble you all the more. It wasn't fair to him, and you weren't helping your cause.
What were you doing, trying to toy with the feelings of an old, lonely man, who had little in the world, but your friendship and a few possessions; it filled your heart with grief. You didn't want to hurt him, you just wanted him to think you were beautiful, smart, funny, and well everything you'd want your crush to feel. If you were unhappy, he'd cheer you up with gifts, desserts, and his generous affection. For the most part, you knew his intentions were honorable, but in your head, you'd hope differently.
It could not work, he was so much older than yourself; not that you cared. For all you knew you were like the daughter he never had. In your heart, you tried to resolve that all you felt was friendship, but then he'd smile, laugh, or be kind to you and you were falling apart. You weren't a kitten, you had always liked men your own age, but you didn't just like him, you were intoxicated by him.
He wasn't even handsome. Well…at first, you didn't think so. You did however find him strangely adorable, and lovely. He was tall and slender, so he wore clothes well. Very gentle and nice, clean-shaven, with abundant blue hair, with the exception of the few strands which choose to be rebellious, prominent buck teeth which gave him a childish innocence, but straightforward, electric blue eyes which reminded you otherwise.
Your eyes would follow him as he moved about the room. Rick had long lashes for a man and was just as impressive overall, and intelligence was even more so. Could anything possibly stop him? Death perhaps, though Zeta-7 didn't care to admit how age played a big role in his energy levels at times, but you knew it was to be expected. You knew what you were getting yourself into when it came to dating someone so much older than yourself; if he'd consider it that is. For hours, he somehow kept up with your foolishness, and you barely managed to follow his genius.
You'd follow if he asked you to come, and in time you knew you were his. You felt loyalty to him, the kind which you knew you'd never revoke. You thought at first that it was his personable nature which had endeared you to him, but it was everything. He was everything.
Zeta-7 had always been affectionate, but not in the way which made you worry. You craved it, his attention, his affection, and wished to be closer than woven gossamer, and took everything he was willing to give you. You were not in love, you would tell yourself, it was merely infatuation. He was simply a cheerful grandpa kind of man, whose arms you would melt in, whose gentle, and generous affection you were greedy for. You were selfish, that was simply it.
Then came the defining moment, which happened one night while you two were cooking together. You needed a few cloves of garlic to chop for the eggplant lasagna, and he just kept handing you cloves. You told him you had enough, and he smiled warmly, telling you there could never be enough garlic and you stopped. You two stared at each other for what seemed like hours even though only seconds passed. It was as though you had come to an understanding.
His winning smile had been the most beautiful thing you had ever seen, his eyes captured you, and you knew for a fact that what you felt was something greater than friendship. The rest of the evening you found yourself in a daze, and hesitant to be near him. In your heart, your feelings felt as though it were almost forbidden, as though you shouldn't feel this way for someone who was a great friend. You blamed these feelings on your own impatience, inexperienced like the man before you. Yeah, you wanted his attention, and he had been attentive. Everyday he made sure your emotional needs were met, he'd probably do just about anything if you asked him to, but you were scared, perhaps just as afraid as he was. Still, the words themselves were an enigma, they burned, they toiled, begging to be said, but you were afraid. Yet, you searched his face, and found the answer; you were falling in love with him.
His sing-song voice twisting and curling about you. You wouldn't risk it you told yourself, but before you went to bed that night he called you and apologized if he had offended you. “No”, you had said, “I'm just not feeling well, but I'll be fine. I promise, I'm going to be okay, so you don't have to worry about me.”
“I-I-I can't help it, I care about you.” was his sincere reply.
Those dizzying warm feelings of affection bubbled and boiled, and you did your best to try to repress them. As usual, he wanted to help you feel better, but you were afraid it would ruin things; you'd rather hurt yourself, then hurt him, and never see him again. For the next week, you thought long and hard, and the next time you two met, you were sitting in his home for afternoon tea, and you told him of how you felt right out of the blue. “Rick, I like you.”
Being the dear man he was, he thought you were talking in platonic terms. “Gosh, really? Well, that's why I'm - why I'm glad we're best friends.”
“No,” you sighed. “that's not what I meant.” You watched as his smile turned to fear, but you continued. “I know you're much older then I am, and you probably see me as some kid, but I'm a grown woman, with adult feelings. And for a while, I thought it was nothing, but I can't ignore it anymore. I care about you as my friend and I understand if you don't want that to change, but I see you as a man, and I hope you realize that I like you so much. There's nothing you can say which will change it because I don't want to change these feelings of mine. I'm not saying this to make fun of you, or because I'm lonely, but to let you know that I like you and that I'm not ashamed.”
So what if you were a kitten, you cared about him, and you knew that if he were to let you down, he would be gentle about it. The sweet, kind man that he was, gently, and carefully placed a shaky hand upon yours and gave it a squeeze. And he cried, “Gosh, you - you don't know how relieved I am. I-I-I thought I was a pervert for-for feeling the way I had.”
“Wait, you….you like me too?”
He groaned, as though he were in pain, and studied you before he continued. “I-I-I don't understand, I'm - I'm so old and gross, and y-you are like a freshly bloomed rose. H-h-h-h-how…..w-w-why?”
You reassured him, taking his hand in yours, rubbing your face into his shaky palm. “Because I just do.”
When he calmed, he looked at you with such affection, and the soft look he gave you made your breath caught. He was in love with you. Even back then, his feelings had been greater, but you dared not believe it. How could you believe it?
Your kind, gentle friend had won you over with such kindness and attracted you with a tender heart. When did you know? In moments when you saw him, not the old man, but of the softness, the beauty of an intriguing mind, and of winsome determination to be happy and to help you be happy too. You held each other so tight, you felt as though you were bound together.
He held you with a strength you did not realize one his age even still had. This was a time before kisses, before great declarations. It was a time to feel, to learn, to hold one another in a soul-crushing embrace. His heartbeat was alarmingly fast, and there had been something almost boyish in the way he placed a tress of hair behind your ear. You were the first to admit your feelings, but he had been the first to ask. A nervous chuckle escaped him, and a little lip-bite followed. “I-I am quite fond of you, and seeing that we - that our feelings are mutual, would - will you…will y-y-you go steady with me?”
As archaic as the terms might have been, it was still charming, and being the kind of man he was, you knew he meant it, and that there was only one way to answer. “Yes, I'd love to.”
Of course, you would go out with him. And forever, that memory would be etched upon your soul.
________
With wide eyes, he remembered how ashamed he had felt. He sat up, ready to shield his face, but you held your arms open. Like back then, you held each other in a soul-crushing embrace. “Do you understand now, my dear, dear friend? There was no way it could have been anyone else. Like a tree planted by streams of water, I've flourished under your attentions. You see me…. you see what I am, as I am. We make each other happy, every day, all the time.”
You two were not wary strangers; passersbys in one another's narratives; not in this instance at least. Neither were you two butterflies emerging from cocoons; descendants of lovers found in a field of barley; discovering and reveling in springtime gusts and gales. No, you were not beautiful like alabaster apples on a ledge; nor figments of one's imagination. You were, however, on the cusp of change; this was the rest of it; the continuation of what had been attempted two years ago; it was nothing like how you thought it would be, but the expectancy of the moment was palpable nonetheless. For your part, you admired the lovely scarlet coloring which crept up his neck and tinged the top of his ears; how becoming it was as well as boyish. And if it weren't already obvious, you didn't need time to think of a reply, and with clear purpose, you answered. "And dear, well, we are still friends. We're best friends. The sweetest, dearest friends that anyone could ever have, except that we love one another. Oh, I do want to. I will marry you."
Oh, whatever future there might've been destined for him, you altered its course by your acceptance of his proposal. Unlike the nihilistic view where no one had a choice, and what had been written was set in stone and that nothing mattered, you decided would not be so. In partaking in this agreement, you had taken on the consequences of what might occur in connection with Rick's work life. You had also taken on the responsibility of what you'd have to do once Rick surpassed the ability to mechanize himself any further than he already had. Still, you could live with this new burden because you were no stranger to heartache and had to make the best of what you two had; love made you do it; unbidden joy was your reward.
