Quadrobics tip!!!
Instead of keeping your body parallel with the ground while running, pushing up with your back legs (while keeping hands off the ground) and landing on your hands like a mini jump goes a long way.
Animals do this as well, if you slow down videos of them running. So i decided to try this and it actually helps me stop faster and not trip over my arms.
Hope this helps! :3

I don’t understand how people fail to see the beauty in therianthropy.
A human body whos soul is one of an animal. Or whos mind is one of an animal. (or both.) Intertwined with nature. Their spirit bonded to a creature who their body fails to be. Limited by the flesh and form of an animal that is not fully themself.
A being whos calling is away from modern society and belongs to the forest, the savanna, the prairie, the valley, the skies, the mountains.
Whos instincts are mixed with different creatures, giving them both advantage and disadvantages against the world around them.
And shifts, where they can feel where their lost body parts used to be. Where they can let their mind change into the full instincts of another.
“Oh but its cringe!” “Its weird!”
No, it’s beautiful. Its mystical. It’s something that feels straight out of fantasy books.
Its odd to not embrace it because its “different”.

stop complaining in my notes about my language being human-centric
1) I cannot completely remove the humanness from a human language, as it is crafted and developed by humans
2) my species of dragon has no language, so unless you plan to accommodate my ferality by discussing therianship through fights to the death in the woods with teeth and claw, then you're going to have to cope or just block me
3) the alterhuman community doesn't need to be a monolith of linguistic sameness for us to understand what point the other was trying to make
DM me for a woods fight. I won't answer. I'm in the woods.

I saw that last post a few days ago and have been thinking about it ever since. because I think in some ways the therian community needs to have certain points of reference for itself, because we're a community and need to at least somewhat relate to one another, but I also think that the TikTok community has become an incredibly narrow standard of what is and isn't therian, mostly influenced by youtubers and other tiktokers defining and refining the definition to extreme lengths.
however that being said I think a lot of times when people argue about treating therianthropy like an aesthetic they're mostly upset about people... actually... turning... it... into... an... aesthetic... with things like certain clothing and specific items and a certain way to dress and act and set up your social medias, which is really more of a problem with the way social media works, but it's particularly bad in some therian spaces.
It's also UNHEALTHY for a lot of younger therians or therians new to the online community to see therianthropy being defined as "well if you want to look like a therian you need to have vines on your walls and perfectly painted masks and only wear neutral colors and long skirts and flowy pants and hang out in the woods". Which I think is just not feasible for a lot of people and makes them feel isolated if they can't fit that perfect aesthetic standard.
Think of how the online witchcraft community treats spellbooks and magic, with all these beautiful crystal spreads and fancy books and pretty pens and perfect little ingredient bottles. That's what I think people are trying to avoid when they talk about turning therianthropy into an aesthetic.
Masks, tails, other gear, quadrobics, certain fashion styles, places to hang out, being interested in vulture culture or obsessed with nature are not prerequisites to being a therian! I like owning gear because it makes me feel good but most of my gear is really bright unnatural colors. My favorite yarn tail is RAINBOW for heaven's sake. I'm not a nature-y person who collects rocks and shells. I like the woods but I'm also fandom trash who writes smut and makes character moodboards. My room is a complete mess half the time and has never looked aesthetic or perfect. Because I'm messy and alive and I'm not forcing myself into a narrow box of what's "acceptable" to other people's standards.
Then again this is more of a problem with social media and microinfluencers and online marketing then it's about therianthropy.

Serious Therianthropy Chat on March 9
Due to poor attendance in February, we have rescheduled the STDC for March 9th. Details are below.
On March 9th at 12:00 PM Central Time, I and Bloodmuffins will be holding a moderated discussion about therianthropy on IRC. The topics will be: 1. When or under what circumstances do you feel least like your theriotype and what does this feel like relative to what you would consider normal for yourself? 2. How did meeting other therians change how you approached your identity and experiences?
To join, go to https://www.rizon.net/chat and type "#stdc" into the channel field, then your preferred nickname into the nickname field. Then, hit connect. There is no password. You may have to add some random digits to the end of your nickname; Rizon is a large server and some nicknames may already be registered. Please note that when not in use the channel is locked. This means that outside of shortly before the chat starts, during the chat, and shortly after it ends (if people linger), it will be impossible to say anything in the chat.
Chats will be archived on the Werelist, as attachments on this thread.

I keep seeing people talk about Randall Tier being trans coded. First of all maybe he is trans, I'm open to the idea. Secondly there's a literal thing for what he is. Therian! I love the idea that Randall Tier is trans but that is literal therianism. I'm both trans and therian.
Also to explain a bit about therianism if you're confused about it->
Therianism is when someone is internally an animal (non-human). These are called the person's theriotypes. Some have general animal groups and not any specific animal and the person can have multiple theriotypes.
How do you know you're a therian? Well therians all have their own experiences and no one is like the other but here's some common signs (not everyone has to experience all of them or any of these examples to be a therian. Everyone has a different experience) ->
Phantom shifts which is when you feel ears, tail, wings and parts of an animal as an extension of yourself, animal habits and tics this can include twitching a certian way or shaking your head and body to rid of water, then my last example is usually the most widespread sign and a big tell tale sign->
You feel trapped in your human body. You feel a dysphoria that you can never escape.
Therianism isn't a choice. It's very much like being transgender but you cannot escape the dysphoria because our technology doesn't allow us to be more animal that we'd like.
People usually think therians are furries are the same and they're not. Being a furry is a choice while therianism isn't.

hey are there other otherhearted (or similar) people who have a vague connection with the idea of "animals" and not a clear cut one with one (or a few) species? I feel like I'm all alone in here

on being kin: why go that far?
it’s funny to me when people write off the otherkin/therian experience by saying we’re immature or just going through a phase or we just want to feel like we’re beautiful and special and like our existences matter because like
if we just wanted to feel special or cool or scary or whatever, we would all be unicorns and cats and wolves and maybe some vampires and dragons. you’re out there, of course. and your identities are valid. i love you. i see you. you’re not making this up. that’s not the point i’m making.
i’m just posing the question: if that’s all this is, why go that far?
when a human being identifies as an angelic being made of eyes and wheels and fire with a voice that rattles the heavens
or when an individual feels more like a Venus fly trap caught in human flesh than a human being
you really CAN’T just make blanket statements. you don’t need to identify as some kind of eldritch being in order to attain that kind of validation or escape reality or relieve boredom or love yourself or what have you. again: why go that far? some of us have kintypes so far removed from the human experience that even the harshest skeptic couldn’t dismiss as nothing. our loved ones reject us. we put up a wall. we’re all alone until we get on our laptops and log onto Tumblr. this is something.
yeah, maybe we’re wrong and it’s not real or whatever. i disagree, but again. not the point. point is: even if we’re wrong, there is still something going on that you can’t just roll your eyes at. what makes a human being identify as a shapeshifter from the void or a monster with nine heads or a deranged comic book villain or a videogame hero most don’t take seriously? and on and on and so on and so forth.
in conclusion: this is a psychological phenomenon, and if you’re not taking it seriously, you’re not paying attention.

The big difference for me in my identities being a furry vs being otherkin is that I would genuinely rather be an angel. or a robot. or better yet a mixture of both, but I wouldn't want to be a cat, I wouldn't want to have to deal with fur, or whiskers, or having no hands with which to manipulate the world. I like putting cat ears on my OCs and I have a pair of cat ear headphones, but that's just me being a furry because I like the aesthetic, vs me genuinely wanting to shuck my humanity in exchange for for the strength and certainty of steel and a hand of constructed divinity guiding me.

Fellow Therians
Important note(s):
Don't give up on quads even if you don't think you're good at it, these things take time. The more you do it the better you get
You do NOT need to do quads or wear gear to be a Therian
Gear can help people feel connected to their theriotype(s) but is NOT necessary
Gear can be anything from tails to a plush of your theriotype, anything that reminds you of your theriotype
Do not feel bad if other's do not understand, you understand and thats the important part :3
Stay safe guys :)

Daily reminder that its okay to not hate your therianthropy.
I’ve seen critters feel ashamed to enjoy their alterhumanity and therianthropy, because of some spreading how much a struggle it is to be alterhuman (valid). Like don’t get me wrong, vent abt it mates, but some take this vent to another lvl by hating on those who find their identity enjoyable.
I may be nonsensically rambling as I am hella tired rn, but my point still stands. You can love your therianthropy, NEVER feel ashamed to be proud of who you are
(also gn critters, ly /p <3)

Hey remember how I said that I joined a few polish therian groups on fb hoping to find some local therians? Today I went on their group chat for the first time and long story short I got banned because one person there insisted that being a therian is a purely spiritual thing and we should stick to rigid definitions (their definition ofc), while I said that it's not always the case and while it is spiritual for many people, it can also be more psychological, and I for example am a dog because I'm autistic. Apparently there's only one way to be a person that's an animal and if you think otherwise you're not a therian and should die

Serious Therianthropy Chat on December 9
On December 9th at 12:00 PM Central Time, I and Bloodmuffins will be holding a moderated discussion about therianthropy on IRC. The topics will be:
1. If you view therianthropy as being due to spiritual phenomenon, and practice some sort of religion, do you view the two as being integrated and if so how?" 2. Are you open about your therianthropy anywhere outside the Internet? If so, around which communities and which people? What made you decide to be open about it?
To join, go to https://www.rizon.net/chat and type "#stdc" into the channel field, then your preferred nickname into the nickname field. Then, hit connect. There is no password.
