Good Omens fic recs
Hello all! Wanted to share a few of my longtime faves. These are all pre-s2, might do another with my post-s2 recs? Narrowed it down to 10, since that's the max links tumbl lets you have in a post.
Any Way You Want It
Author: Justkeeptrekkin Words: 27,500 Chapters: 5/5 Rating: Mature Mood: Vacation, soft but introspective After finally getting heaven and hell off their backs (at a cost) Crowley and Aziraphale go on holiday to a cottage in Scotland. Fluffy with fun snappy dialogue, the two really feel like best friends here! Aziraphale struggles with his tendency to go slower than even he wants.
Instructions Not Included
Author: Atalan Words: 68,000 Chapters: 13/13 Rating: Teen Mood: Detective / Gen (There are feelings but it earns that slowburn tag) My "if season 2 isn't good, this is my season 2" fic. Now, I liked season 2, but this is still SO good. After the notpocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley start a detective agency investigating supernatural happenings together. New characters include Raphael (who totally missed the apocalypse haha whoops), and a big spooky dog (whomst I adore). Note that while this fic stands just fine on its own, there is an unfinished sequel that imo doesn't leave off anywhere stressful.
When in Rome
Author: Kedreeva Words: 4,000 Rating: General Mood: The liminal space of nighttime conversations What happens after Aziraphale invites Crowley to oysters: Wings and reading. Tentative and innocent in those early days.
the deft, sweet gesture of your hand
Author: deadgreeks Words: 12,000 Rating: Explicit Mood: Hurt/Comfort, introspection A few years after the failed apocalypse Crowley shows up badly injured at the bookshop. Aziraphale has to help heal Crowley and save them both, and still finds the time to knit his feelings.
Chemistry
Author: Twilightcitysky Words: 122,000 Chapters: 19/19 Rating: Explicit Mood: Y'ever want a side of learning something with your romcom? After realizing they might need their own corporations to heal themselves now that they're not working for heaven and hell, Aziraphale and Crowley turn on all their bodily functions. All of them. What could be a silly premise is played out very satisfyingly, the actual biology of hormones at play here is fascinating. (this is not really at all related but: has anyone else read Peeps by Scott Westerfeld? Because the format reminded me of this in that it did a similar thing of playing straight the concept of "what could cause vampires to be real" that drew on inspiration from real life parasites interspersed between the chapters. I dig it. Anyway!)
Reservations
Author: AnnetheCatDetective Words: 10,000 Chapters: 3/? (Technically unfinished, but leaves off in a satisfying spot) Rating: Not Rated Mood: Meta (Character study as story) “There's some competition for Aziraphale and Crowley's usual table at the Ritz…” A couple of miracles bend reality and, well… you ever been like, “The boys need therapy, but who could possibly give it to them?” I love crossovers where the TV boys meet other versions of themselves, this one is my favorite.
i can't say the words, so i wrote you into my verse
Author: mygalfriday (BrinneyFriday) Words: 5,000 Rating: Teen Mood: Snapshots through history "Crowley has tattoos and every few centuries, Aziraphale discovers a new one." Simple and paints a lovely picture.
By Definition
Author: idiopathicsmile Words: 3,000 Rating: Explicit Mood: Smutty but fond A night together after the Ritz fic where Aziraphale is asexual and Crowley isn’t and how that works for them. The dialogue here is positively delightful.
Bark Dust
Author: rfsmiley Words: 8,000 Rating: Mature (mostly for injuries) Mood: Whump, Hurt/Comfort, Historical Crowley is very badly injured in a battle, and Aziraphale has to figure out how to save his life.
Tell Me A Story
Author: brilliant_or_insane Words: 5,000 Rating: Teen Mood: Soft and warm Aziraphale likes telling stories and Crowley likes to listen. But when the demon is dissatisfied by sad endings and can't relate to the happy ones, Aziraphale decides to move them forward by telling a new story. (Of course, Crowley isn't entirely satisfied with the angel's perspective on that one either.)

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for tagging me in this @bluespring864 <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
42 – the answer to everything.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
206,473
3. What fandoms do you write for?
These days it’s mainly Tatort. And I guess I should also mention Star Trek, even though it’s been a couple of years. And then there’s the odd TV show or movie that somehow piqued my interest, plus stuff like Harry Potter and Sherlock back in the day. But my main fandom, and the one I feel most at home in, is definitely Tatort.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Apart from the number 1 spot, these were actually quite surprising to me.
Past, Present and Beyond: Star Trek: AOS (Post-Star Trek Beyond), Kirk/Spock - Spock retrieves the box that contains the belongings of Ambassador Spock and carefully puts it on his desk.
Late-Night Cravings: Grace and Frankie, Grace/Frankie - “Grace, I want cake!”
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Oh, absolutely. I love reading comments and the least I can do is say thanks when people take the time to write one. It’s also always fun to talk more about an aspect of the fic or a character, and I love when I suddenly find myself talking to people outside of the comment section. Fandom’s supposed to be about community, after all.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I tend to write happy endings. But I guess Manchmal hört sie heimlich zu (Tatort Münster, Wilhelmine Klemm/Monika Hanke-Helmhövel) and In Vino Veritas (Tatort Münster, Thiel/Boerne & Klemm/Krusenstern) have the angstiest endings I’ve ever written. They’re both Hurt No Comfort and Unrequited Love.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I guess, all of my other fics have rather happy endings. I don’t actually think there is a happiest.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Haven’t in ages. As I said, the Tatort fandom is nice <3 But some of the Harry Potter and Sherlock people were… intense. A couple of times people told me a fic was alright, but I should’ve written for another ship, which isn’t hate, of course, but why? And then there was this one time some biphobic asshole complained about me writing a character as bisexual ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do. The explicit kind. Sometimes it serves a purpose in a story, sometimes it’s just for the fun of it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Do crossovers between different Star Trek shows or between different Tatort teams count as proper crossovers? If so, I’ve actually written quite a few of them. If not, then the only ones I’ve written were back in the day with a Harry Potter fandom friend. We used to take our favourite characters from all sorts of media, plus our self-insert OCs and send them off on all kinds of adventures together.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I know that people have used Google Translate in order to read my German language fic for a French movie.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yep, see question 10. Also, @fallingforfandoms and I are currently working on a Tatort AU together, which is very exciting.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I don’t actually know. It varies. But Kirk/Spock, Janeway/Crusher, Thiel/Boerne and Klemm/Lürsen will always be among my favourites.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I’ve got the beginnings of a Star Trek Bake Off AU somewhere. I still love the idea, but right now I can’t really imagine that I will ever continue writing it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Oh boy, maybe my readers would be better at answering this question. I like to think that I’m quite alright at writing dialogue. But maybe that’s because it's what I find most enjoyable and what often comes to me fairly easy.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I feel that my writing sometimes lacks description or insights into a character between dialogue. And I’m not that good with longer stories. Plotting is hard for those, especially for crime shows, when you want to incorporate the crime aspect. And I am a slow writer.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
If it fits the story, sure. So far, I’ve mainly used dialect rather than a completely different language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically, Star Trek in 5th grade or so. But I didn’t know that I was writing fanfic or what a fandom even was. First thing I published was for Harry Potter, and first thing I published on AO3 was for Tatort Münster.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I’m bad at choosing favourites. It would depend on my mood, I guess. Right now, if I absolutely had to pick one, I’d probably go with In Vino Veritas, which might be strange, since it’s a rather short one and doesn’t have a happy ending. But I just like it.
Tagging @fallingforfandoms @thotstochter @iiiflow @cornchrunchie and @carlomenzinger if you feel like sharing a bit about your writing.

Tagged by @verecunda, thank you! I've lost track of who has been tagged, so please jump in if you'd like to play!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
176, give or take a few that are in currently anonymous collections.
2. What's your total AO3 wordcount?
737,590
3. What fandoms do you write for?
My current main fandoms are the Hornblower novels and The Flight of the Heron. But I also write one-offs as please me, either for exchange assignments or pinch-hits, or because I got bit by a plot bunny. (Yes, plot-bunnies are carnivorous!) This year, I've written for Hornblower (novels and TV), The Flight of the Heron, Vokosigan Saga, Elementary, ACD Holmes, Leverage, A Rip Through Time, and Wild Things (1998).
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Sincerity of Dust (Mycroft/Lestrade - Sherlock TV) Etta Candy's Last Stand (Etta Candy/Wonder Woman) Three Continents and Many Nations (Elementary gen; Joan Watson has broken hearts around the world) Baker Street Papas (Holmes/Watson, kidfic) Foundations (Elementary gen; Bell-centric fixit AU)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, because I was taught to write thank you notes. Also, because sometimes I can lure a commenter into a conversation, which is always fun -- and sometimes they even become a friend.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Heh. *rubs hands gleefully* I have a little sideline in fics that made people cry. Let me show you some of my favorites!
The Golden Sand Bush/Hornblower Once again a prisoner of the French, Hornblower awaits his execution.
Cock on the Right background Bush/Hornblower/Maria For as long as he bears them, Bush's tattoos protect him faithfully.
Telling the Bees Elementary gen Sherlock returns from Switzerland, but Watson does not.
Brandy and Soda Holmes & Watson; Mary/Watson (7 Per-Cent Solution) Holmes returns to Baker Street.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh, fuck if I know. I've been accused more than once of writing only bittersweetly happy endings. But here, have a story in which Horatio Hornblower, that sad wet miserable bastard, is simply happy for a day:
Nothing So Much Worth Doing
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not often. Earlier this year a commenter objected to a pwp being a pwp. Which. Dude. As a later commenter replied (so I didn't have to! blessings on their house!), the story was exactly what it said in the tags and summary, so take some personal responsibility and don't click on what you don't want to read.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. Slash, femslash, threesomes; vanilla and kinky; realistic and fantastical; first times and well-seasoned olds. I haven't yet written anything that would bring the antis after me, but that's the kind of thing that I'd put under a different pseud anyway.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Absolutely. Probably Elementary x Bee-Man Comics: THE BEST BEE FIC ON MARS.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I had a couple requests this year for permission to translate a story (both granted), but I don't know the current status of either project.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
@phoenixfalls and I have a story we've been co-writing; every once in a while we talk about finishing it. I'd very much like to; I think it's great fun.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Pass.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a Twin Peaks x Buffy crossover that I quite like, but which I am extremely unlikely to ever finish. Every now and then I think of it wistfully, though.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Well-organized and precise prose, and strong characterizations.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Inelegant prose, and wobbly characterizations.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
An insidious trap, if your characters speak the other language better than you do. (With the exception of William Bush in French, they always do! Why do I write all these classically-educated assholes?)
My usual solution is to paraphrase the dialogue through my pov character, at whatever their level of comprehension is. After all, that's what the reader needs to know: what the pov character understands. Paraphrasing also circumvents the wild card that some of my readers will know the language and some won't -- this way, no reader has an advantage and no reader is left scrambling for a translation.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ask Dr. Eldritch! a webcomic written by the talented evannichols.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Whichever one someone just left a lovely comment on.

tagged in '20 questions for fic writers' by the esteemed @verecunda — thank you very much!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
62.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
102,035.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
at the moment, I think Sharpe, Flight of the Heron, and Kidnapped are getting most of my attention? altho' there are of course quite a few others.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
you'd be my best friend, you'd be my lady (Hornblower)
sleep in it slowly (if you can) (Hornblower)
illuminating all, in time (Hornblower TV)
here in your arms is cured (Kidnapped)
as in a mirror dimly (The Mummy 1999)
...huh. that is not what I thought the top five were going to be. but then again, I think a lot of the work that I myself like better is both newer and more niche, so I guess that does make sense.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I typically respond to comments on fics I posted after April 2022, which is when I started replying to comments. not sure why that's my routine but either way it's what it is.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hm, a lot of breaking left to do, perhaps, being as it's just solidly Horatio Hornblower Is Sorrowful right from one end to the other. I'd lean toward this one rather than any of what I've written on the theme of being lost in undeath, even though there are quite a few more of those (and better written ones to boot!), since I tend to end those with something calm and a little restful even in decay.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think that's probably got to go to Shaking Off Our Shadows, which is basically two thousand words to the effect of 'what if these two fellows from a very grim book full of disease and death and ruin and general misery had a really nice beach epilogue wherein Everything Was Fine.'
8. Do you get hate on fics?
eh, I've gotten a few weird comments on one, mostly people voicing their hatred for one of the characters it's about. I personally think it's all very silly to come to the doorstep of a fellow who likes to write about romantic dissection and say that a kiss exchanged with mutual interest but without previous discussion is 'fucked'. methinks the problem lies not with me.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
...on occasion. not a great deal of it has actually made it into finished fic at present, mostly because I'm not very confident with specificity in those matters, and so it's more likely to be heavily metaphoricized (see above about the romantic dissection...)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
most of them are things that I'll draw about or merely ponder rather than writing, but a particularly silly one that I've actually gotten some words in on is Hornblower and Animorphs — look, if the Animorphs team is canonically at Trafalgar, I don't think I have a choice but to crack open a space to play with in the Age of Sail!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
as far as I know, no.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
a few of my RLS-based ones have been translated into Russian!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
sort of! when it comes to actually both writing in the same document, no, but the larger expanse of Flintlock Fortress is done in close collaboration with @dxppercxdxver, and we're discussing a great deal even if we're actually writing on separate parts of the story.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I think when it comes to sheer years-long staying power, that badge has to go to Livesey/Trelawney.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I really would like to finish some of my earlier Treasure Island and Hornblower attempts, like the selkie au and the tattoo-sorcery story. I was definitely biting off more than I could chew plot-wise at the time and I'm more confident writing at length now, but I really don't have a ton of enthusiasm for the almost complete rewrites those stories would need to feel right to me, and so probably not.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I really do pride myself on my ability to Describe poetically and to spin an interesting sentence. enough of my fics are extended versions of things that I couldn't make work as a single drawing that that's become quite an important thing for me.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
plots, and overall forming a story to have a solid structure and not just be a vaguely interesting selection of scenes... and I'm definitely not very good at imitating authorial voice, even when I'm trying very hard to do so.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
like most everything, it's good when done with intention — I really wish I'd gotten quite good enough at Latin to do what I'd been intending and write some Hornblower fic entirely in Latin.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I'd guess Stand Still Stay Silent, altho' I never ended up finishing any of the stories I began, and that was long before I had such a thing as an ao3 account (or even my current file-keeping system,) so where that all ended up I've got no clue at all.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
well, I think it's got to be the wormsfic... I'm just beyond proud of it even in its currently unfinished state and I think it's excellent proof of the fact that I've actually grown as a writer over the last few years.
and I shall tag... @dxppercxdxver, @cedarboots, @baronetcoins, @kigiom, @bishakespeares, and @lacomandante, if you're interested?

eddie munson x afab!reader
a/n: so hi. I hope you guys liked my previous eddie piece. I’ve had a fun and rough couple days and actually the whole week or the last fucking few months lol :D I’m finally back to writing a lot and having time to myself too actually. I love writing and eddie’s a very interesting character to write, also hard because he’s so charismatic and explosive and theatrical. I love him can you tell? also me and him are kinda similar :’) and our mbtis are compatible.... anyways. your good will be updated, too.... this one-shot is I guess pretty much a self insert. I’ve felt really insecure again the past few days and I don’t really have anyone who understands my struggles and insecurities so as always in those cases I’ve decided to write it all out. in combination with a little dream scenario of mine + breaking the cheerleader / freak stereotype that is frequent in eddie x reader fics. not that I’m complaining or like hating on them !! I love that dynamic a lot. just wanted to experiment with this kind of dynamic, and I hope I make it work. i also wrote from my heart because in school i was always bullied and called names just like eddie was, i was always the freak, and so that cafeteria scene was very comforting to me, and representative of me & others like me. so i'm incorporating that into here, too. I have two-three more eddie one-shot ideas. let me know if you want to be tagged when I post them. love you all. happy reading <3
disclaimer: this is set in like ’85, making eddie 19-20, the reader 18-19 and the kids in their respective younger years, 13-15, though they make close to zero appearance here.

being different in a small town society such as Hawkins isn’t easy. you get all types of nasty treatment from people around you, from the general public and even, occasionally, newspapers and reality shows on tv. hard for anyone to deal with that kind of treatment.
however, when you’re a girl, it is much, much worse to be different. not liking the music all the other girls like is crime number one. dressing differently and wearing different make-up is crime number two. having different views and behaving differently and, quite frankly, more naturally than all the other girls, is crime number three. and it’s the most serious one.
it’s not like you ever wanted to be different. there’s plenty of those people at school and in society, but you’ve never been one of them. you just are different, always have been and actually always will be different, too. you guess you’re just wired differently, not like everyone else. something in you is by default different, and you won’t change that. it’s not like you could change that, even, and you have tried. looking at your peers, you’re sure you don’t want to change that. being different has its pros and cons, as does everything else.
even before your friends had decided to ditch you because you were just too bizarre for them, they didn’t understand you like you needed them to, or thought they would. in your friend group, you didn’t get everything completely off the bat, you didn’t catch on, and were only included in hang-outs and parties because you just always had been, as if it was an unspoken rule that they couldn’t break. until a point, of course.
you were never the prettiest among your friends, that was a fact to you. most days it hurt, and still does. because you still haven’t been asked out by anyone in your life ever. no one’s ever had a crush on you, not even an embarrassing crush from someone you totally didn’t like. no boy has shown even a slight bit of interest in you ever, and it’s not like you need male validation to survive. you make it out like it doesn’t affect you, like it’s nothing important.
but when your friends started talking about their first kiss, which you haven’t ever had, either; and when they started talking about going on dates, getting boyfriends and having sex; and when your parents had started to ask you about boys, especially your mom, telling you she’s sort of already waiting on you to bring a boy home to introduce to her; every girl in this society should have had at least one boyfriend by now, that includes you.
when all of that comes to the front of your mind, and you’re reminded of the topic more than daily, you can’t ignore the hurt, the absence, the loneliness that comes with it. you’ve never felt a guy’s hands on you, not in any way or with any random reason, not even a hug or a stupid handshake. no guy has ever asked you for a dance, has never approached you for anything else. you’ve never had a first kiss or a first time, and honestly the thought of having them now scares you much less than the thought of never having them, as opposed to how it used to scare you before.
you like to put on a face that says you don’t care that you haven’t been with anyone. people at school have deemed you both sides of the spectrum—a prude and a slut. oh, we can’t forget the mean bitch title. calling you a prude you understand, but a bitch? you’re mean to people who deserve it, and have a defensive nature over-all. a slut?! now that has absolutely no back-up.
boys have always leaned more towards making fun of you than being genuine to you, friendly to you. and you act like it’s all fine, which it isn’t, but no one wants to see you cry every day and wear a sad face either. so you put up your best mask.
max mayfield, though a few years younger than you, and still not in high school, had been the only girl you could name that felt most similar to you. she also always stood up for herself, spoke bluntly and gave people her piece of mind. the only difference between you two being that she has a boyfriend. even she! you sometimes think. here she is, about to enter high school, a boyfriend by her side, and you’re on your last year of high school without a boyfriend, without any experience in that field. if you compare it, people, and a hidden part of you, would call that very depressing.
but it’s not really your fault, is it? even though you often tell yourself the opposite. you dress in clothes that are comfortable, that feel like you. same goes for the make-up you use, and same for the music you blast in your ears with your walkman. you’re being yourself, and you’ve become angry that people, mostly your friends and guys at school, can’t see and appreciate that. it’s not like they’re embracing themselves, unless they really are shallow-minded sheep who like to put down others for fun.
most people in hawkins aren’t so different. the ones who are stand out like a sore thumb. a group of those thumbs is called the hellfire club. group of boys who play d&d, whose leader is a notorious metal head and trouble-maker. not that he can help it. as much as your being different by default from everyone else, eddie munson was born with something wicked in his blood, in his dna, that he can’t shake, no matter how he’d try.
during lunch, you always sit in the corner, or somewhere near the back of the cafeteria. mostly because you don’t belong to a group that you could sit with. and also because your ears don’t find the sound of people chewing very pleasing. you can’t help but overhear the cheer team’s—half of your former friends’—conversations. or the jocks’. or the party people. that all usually makes you pull out your walkman and blast distracting and drowning-out music into your ears, just like you’re doing now.
but when you see a certain someone prancing about his club’s table, or even walking around the cafeteria and even stepping on stools and tables, your attention’s been swerved into a better lane. but now, when you suddenly feel that certain someone’s voice above and then next to your ear, as well as his body plopping theatrically down next to yours, your attention’s been utterly stolen away, even from your music.
with confused eyes and drawn eyebrows, you pull your headphones down so they’re hanging around your hair-covered neck, and turn your head to look at the leader of the hellfire club. a wide, mischievous grin is etched into his face, his eyes looking into yours, shining. and the next second he’s whisking your headphones up and away from you and putting them on his own ears. “wha—” you can’t even think of the question to ask him as you watch him position the phones over his ears, not bothering his perfectly messy hair, of course, and diving into your selection of music for the day. soon he begins even bopping his head to it, but the moment is gone as soon as it came.
eddie munson takes the headphones off his head and hands them back to you. as you place your hand on the device, you warily look at him. “that’s a great song right there,” he says to you, his deep voice nearly shaking your headphones and nearly touching hands with its thunder, how much deeper it is than you’ve heard, “though i do enjoy the more lively stuff osborn has to offer. much more metal.” he nods to his own statement as he still looks at you. probably awaiting a reaction. yet you have none, at least not yet, for this approach has completely bedazzled you. scratch that eddie’s been deemed the school and town freak—you don’t care about it, in fact, it makes you like him even more—he has sat down next to you and started a conversation about music, your most passionate hobby. “well, hey, i thought the school meanie would have at least one or two mean words for me.” eddie admits with a chuckle. you appreciate that he didn’t use the more vulgar terminology on you, and a smile sneaks into your features as you take your headphones fully back. you press pause on your walkman and begin wrapping the wire around the set of headphones.
“it’s not you who deserves those words,” you finally tell him your honest opinion, and that makes eddie raise his eyebrows in slight surprise. that’s not what girls in this school usually have to say about him. he swings the leg of his that was hanging over the stool over to the other one, so he could sit even closer to you. you don’t know why he’d want to, you frankly have no clue, but you don’t pull away, or push him away, “and i’m not a bitch, really, i just tell people my honest, open thoughts. they’re just not what they want to hear,” you shoot eddie a side glance. he has now taken fascination in your bag that you’d carefully laid down on the table in front of you. all your pins, all your embroidery pieces, all the patches you have. you truly are almost what he expected, “which includes that... black sabbath isn’t metal.” you shake your head. eddie rests his hand across his chest, right where his heart is, and makes a shocked face. you chuckle. “it’s dirty, heavy rock, really.” you shrug.
“how... dare you,” eddie says theatrically, “besmirch ozzy osborn’s name and level of metalness!” he shakes his head and plays a victim of hard disappointment with gestures and facial expressions. it makes you smile. you don’t know what it is—eddie or someone disagreeing with you—but you let it make you smile. “maybe you are a meanie after all.”
you shrug. “i’ll leave that for you to decide yourself,” you tell him and try to carry on with actually eating your lunch, “you on a diet, munson?”
“huh?” the man blinks, really truly caught off guard by the question, not realising what it implies.
“are you on a diet and have deemed me as a distracting spectacle?” you ask him a more in-depth question. yet he’s still blind as to what it could mean. “why are you here?” you offer a straight-forward question, and turn your head to face him completely. eddie gives you a half-grin now.
“what, you scared to be seen with the school freak?” he asks. and even though he meant the question with humour, even teasing, there’s a hint of insecurity in his voice and eyes when he speaks his deemed title. freak. you can immediately tell he doesn’t like that title as much as he promises that he does, as much as he’s embraced it.
“please, munson,” you say with your mouth half-full, “if anyone’s here a freak, it’s me. ever met another girl in this school who listens to metal? dresses like me? has dyed black hair?” you gesture at yourself to make a point. eddie snorts a chuckle. he likes your attire.
“thought black sabbath wasn’t metal.” he says in a quieter voice, a playful, but sincere smile on his lips. it’s also a shy one, which is a rare occurrence on him. his smiles are always big, loud, wide. eddie appreciates that you don’t say the word freak the way he does. to him you sound proud, or at least acknowledging of that title and maybe also the status it provides. you give him a deadpan stare.
“come on,” you say, “if i listened to only one band, i’d go insane. don’t tell me you’re a fake metal fan and don’t know metallica.”
“know them? my fingers have bled for them,” eddie argues, “i swear to you,” he crosses his heart with his hand and nearly bows in front of you, “i know all their best songs perfectly on guitar.” eddie makes a theatrical gesture of his hand, a sort-of bow in front of you.
“is that so?” you challenge him, and turn your body more towards him, bending your black-skirt clad knee up to your chest, tucking your chin over it as you look at the very friendly and understanding man in front of you. you know he’s older than you, you know this is his second year that he’s been pushed back. but that doesn’t really matter now. he’s very much like you. that trumps all. “why don’t you prove it and play them to me sometime?” you’re surprised at how bold you’re being right now with him. is this you asking him out on a date? you’re asking eddie munson on a date. are you?you hope you are, and you hope he gets the message.
a soft, even shy smile appears on eddie’s lips, and he utters a quiet chuckle. you think you even see his cheeks heat up with a slight blush. wow, this man is easy. easier than you expected. “that’s what i came over to ask you,” he says and looks up into your eyes with his big doe ones. they resemble a dog’s eyes, though because of eddie’s nature, you’d write him off more as a cat.
“me?” you play along with his usual theatrics, raising your eyebrows and making gestures with your hands that imitate his previous ones. it makes him smile, you can see that. “you sure you haven’t mistaken me for someone else? i’m the prude bitch of the school, remember?” you remind him. eddie has a chuckle.
“well, as you stated before,” he starts to say, and you can see that he actually is flustered. for whatever reason. couldn’t be you, right? “you’re the only girl in this forsaken school who listens to metal, so,” eddie continues, “who else would be interested in a documentary film about the rise of heavy rock and metal music in the US of A?” he grins as he spreads two pastel blue coloured tickets on the stool between you both. only now you notice he’s been sitting with his legs sprawled over the stool again for a while now.
your eyes light up, slowly looking from the tickets to eddie, and your eyebrows raise. you’re glad that part of your face is hidden by being tucked behind your knee, because eddie would have a field day at seeing how you’re blushing right now. though you’re pretty sure he knows that you are, anyway. he’s the kind of person who gets under people’s skin—positively and negatively—and loves to tease them. you, included. though he hasn’t really done that yet. “you wanna go see it? with me?” he’s got you so good that any façade of yours would have fallen, if you would have had one. you can’t hide your pleasant and big surprise at his offer. he came over to you exactly, precisely, only you and no one else. does he like you?
eddie nods his head at your question, lips tight in a closed smile. another rare expression on him. everything about him is loud, and yet with you, now, at this table, he’s gone quiet. that is really unusual.
“won’t you be bored? you must be a walking metal and rock encyclopedia,” you make a point in your ramble out of nervousness. surely he’s not asking you on a date. is he? what if he’s playing a prank on you? what if he’ll be a no-show? is he really asking you to go see a movie about a shared interest with you? is this real? all these questions and doubts have you feeling very nervous, “you know everything already, you’ll just be... mouthing along to each word the narrator says.”
eddie laughs at your speculations about him and his music knowledge—which are flattering, of course—and his beautiful smile catches your eye. it’s almost like the smile doesn’t belong to someone with eddie’s façade. freak. metal-head. nerd. mean and scary and defensive. his smile (and his whole demeanour around you now) is the complete opposite of all that. but, you guess, appearances and reputations, are quite deceiving. “believe it or not, i haven’t seen it yet. thank you for the compliment, but uh,” he shakes his head and moves his stare from the tickets to you, he keeps switching back and forth between those two, “one man can’t know everything.”
“but he tries to,” you say with a fond smile, that same blush still tinting your cheeks. eddie nods, and his eyes solemnly stay on yours. his smile fades a little, and his face almost becomes... more serious? if you dare say.
“so, whadda ya say,” eddie says and raises the tickets up again to highlight his offer, “7pm tomorrow, you, me and a metal documentary against the world?” he offers again in a creative way, and his lips spread into a grin.
you’re about to grin just as wide, let him see the blush he’s been making you have after all in all its glory, and tell eddie munson yes, yes, absolutely, yes, when a nasty remark from someone distracts you. “well, if it isn’t the prude with the freak?” jason carver, the so-deemed king of hawkins high, captain of the basketball team, says with a big ugly grin on his face as he comes over to your table. the two people at the far end of the table sit still in their places, only it seems they’ve just now noticed eddie has come over and sat here with you. you ignore the looks of them and momentarily glance at eddie before strongly moving your eyes over to jason. “you were such a nice girl, y/n, why would a freak like him be in your taste.” jason says now, giving eddie that nasty look-over as he mentions him.
you sigh and try not to think about how that comment makes eddie feel. or rather, you think about that rather than how it makes you feel. “what, are you mad that i never had a crush on perfect little jason?” you tease, enjoying doing it with a mocking expression on your face, and see how visibly the boy’s face falls. you grin wide, the grin growing close to eddie’s visually. sort of resembles a little devil, as well. you’ve always loved to grin like that when teasing people. you grab your things and take the two tickets eddie’s offered in your hands, too, and get up from your seat.
you ignore the looks from half the cafeteria now, nearly all eyes on you and eddie. he cluelessly looks up at you, a silent hope to not leave him alone here in his eyes. “come on, we have class,” you say to him just in time as the bell rings, alerting everyone for that very same thing. eddie grins wide, matching your grin, and gets up as well, with you, “try adjusting that stick up your ass, carver. or ask one of your buddies to do it for you, yeah?” you offer to jason as parting words, a grin on your lips all the same as you look at him over your shoulder before walking to the exit with eddie.
eddie munson gives jason the regular bird-flipping attitude as he walks off to class with you, and he does so happily. he adores the look on jason’s face after your assassination on him, and eddie can’t help but gush to you about it. “that was sooooo,” he scrunches up his nose at you cutely, and you giggle. your faces as close as they’ve ever been, “fucking badass.” you giggle again, this time the giggles turning into solid laughter. i adore you, eddie nearly says, but stops on the first word because you speak up.
“to answer your question—yes,” you tell him sweetly, “i’ll love for you to take me to see that movie.” you say, raising the tickets in question upwards. eddie’s face completely changes – it rises like the sun, you could say. wide smile, wide eyes, a happy expression over-all. god, this boy is golden. “only condition - you’ll show me all your guitar tricks after.”
eddie blushes and makes a cute smile. “you got yourself a deal, sweetheart.”

twenty questions for fic writers
tagged by @senseandaccountability THANK YOU!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 200 exactly! I did not know this until I just went and checked.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 1,222,468 - I too have been at it for a long time, about fifteen years (and there is more of it on other sites lol)
3. What fandoms do you write for? Rusty Quill Gaming, Baldur's Gate 3, SWTOR (and other star wars related fandoms), Dragon Age, The Magnus Archives, Final Fantasy XIV, uh... and lots of little one offs for books and tiny podcast fandoms.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
The Mbmbam Archives (mbmbam/magnus crossover) with 949 (this still makes me laugh so much)
Seven Days (RQGaming, Zolf/Oscar) at 458
Sex, Death and Plants or: Four Seasons Total Landscaping (RQGaming AU, Zolf/Oscar/Grizzop) at 425
Willing to Wait for It (RQGaming, genfic) at 394
and
A Little Help (RQGaming, again Zoscar) at 384
Rusty Quill Gaming folks are super super supportive and awesome and I'm forever grateful they went on my dumb journeys with these characters with me.
5. Do you respond to comments? Always! I hope! I know sometimes I miss them when I'm away from my computer but they are definitely always read.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Mmmm, angsty-est?? I'm not one really for angsty endings, although I like angst in all the other bits. Probably the fic I wrote where Zolf is mourning Oscar. I honestly can't remember what it was called.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Sex Death and Plants ends in a massive polycule and the take down of a fascist asshole billionaire so I think it deffo qualifies as the happiest of my endings :D.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm LOL. Never directly. I have reports of people who dislike what I write but they never tell me to my face for some reason, it always gets around to me, usually about two years later, on the underground.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do. I love writing smut. I don't write very graphic smut as a general rule but most of my fics will have one or two scenes in it and I've done a couple of kinktobers. Love it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I've got a couple. One Dragon Age/Lucifer crossover that I wrote specifically for a friend. One aborted Firefly/Dragon Age Crossover that lives on FF.net I think if that site hasn't destroyed itself.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I've had enquiries about translating some into Russian but I've never actually seen if they followed through.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! Quite a few actually. Some of them haven't been published :D.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? I should say Zoscar. So I will. I love them your honour.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Gods I got a comment on my old Rebels fic "Talking to Strangers" and I read it again and went "this shit's good I should finish it" but that would involve me actually watching the rest of Rebels and I don't really watch TV any more and it just ends up being too hard.
16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue and character voices, I think - at least for fic. I have a lot of fun trying to make what characters say feel like it could be lifted directly from the source material but isn't.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description. Fucken' hate it. I'll do it but I'll moan about it for every single sentence.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Very risky IMO and not something I'll do any more although I used to when I first started out. These days I'll write it in English but indicate which language it should be in in other ways.
19. First fandom you wrote for? If we wanna get technical I wrote my first fanfic when I was about ten years old. It was Sherlock Holmes fanfiction (the stories, not the series, since the series didn't come out for another twenty five years lol). Self insert time travel fic. I may still have it somewhere lol.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written? I love all my fanfictions equally (I really don't care for Mbmbam Archives). No that was a joke, I really do love all of them, my favourite tends to be the one I'm writing at the present moment. That said honourable mention should go to The Nature of Crystal (G'raha/WOL smut) because that one just arrived fully formed in my head one morning and tickled me.
I'll tag @feralkwe, @wishflower4, @zombolouge @makesometime and anyone else who would like to do it!

20 Questions for Fic Writers - Big thanks to the mega fabulous @kaossbells for tagging me!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
22 (look at that, Jenson's racing number...)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
635,019
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Only F1 now. In the past I've mostly written for Muse. I've also written for BBC Sherlock. I have been writing since I was a kid, though, so there was a lot of stuff that didn't even make it online, let alone to AO3 lol
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Dance Me To The Moon (F1 / Sebastian Vettel), Zero Minus Ten (Muse), Everything of Nothing (Muse), Never Dream of Dying (Muse) and Resistance (Muse)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Unfortunately it's very common that readers do not give the authors any feedback. So if someone goes out of their way to show any kind of support or, as some very kind people do, leave detailed reviews, I will be incredibly grateful and make sure to let them know.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I often end my stories in a positive note, even the ones who have a vague or open ended finale. But I'd say a Muse one-off I wrote in 2009 called "Il Coma" was heavy for my standards. Also Never Dream of Dying, but that was part of a trilogy so not sure it counts. (well, the readers at the time were not pleased with the TBC, let's put it that way LOL)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Currently, on AO3, I think Dance Me To The Moon. I don't want to spoil but it's a romance so.... haha
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't remember ever getting hate tbh.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh, yeah. Lots. Ha. All kinds. M/M. F/M. Threesomes. I've done PWP. I've done kink. I've done romance. I've done dubious/non-con. I've (literally) written smut sitting in a church. I've gotten to the point where I'm sort of getting bored of writing it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes. I once wrote a Muse / BBC Sherlock crossover - Showbiz. It was incredibly fun to plot. It was well received, too, so I enjoyed that! The Mb-7 universe trilogy is also a crossover of sorts between Muse and Daniels Craig's James Bond, because characters such as M and Q feature.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I did, I never noticed.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I was once asked for permission for someone to translate a story, I felt very honoured!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, the whole MB-7 trilogy was co-written with one of my best friends.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
In F1 I will have to say Sebastian with Jenson or with Mark. (although in reality I like him with everyone lol). But Mulder / Scully from The X Files and Matt Bellamy / Dom Howard from Muse are probably my OTPs.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't really have WIPs because although I have a lot of ideas and have plotted things in detail that never materialised, I only start writing once I am 100% I will write it in full.
The only exception - and therefore a regret I never finished - is a sequel to the BBC Sherlock / Muse crossover. I wrote a few pages and sadly that was it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hard for me to answer this. But I try to make the characters as realistic and true to life as possible. I also make it a point of having a decently structured plot.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, god, where to start. I feel immediately restricted in how and what I write because my command of English (as second language) is not as good as I wish it would be. Then I'm also a very slow writer and edit endlessly. I tend to repeat ideas and certain expressions. I don't know, we could be here all day lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Very cool! I love languages and especially in F1 it's very fitting.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It was a TV show and I don't remember the name, I was a kid. The first one I do remember was for an American band called Matchbox 20.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
This is SO hard to reply! I'm going to leave out one-shots (which kills me cos there is a few I still love) and mention only chaptered stuff:
Dance Me To The Moon (F1) because I never thought I'd be able to write a romance and I was so incredibly proud of myself, was fully emerged in it and I will carry these two with me for the rest of my life.
Resistance  (Muse) because it was the first time I wrote a novel length thriller that I felt had all I wanted and it was such an enjoyable process.
Everything or Nothing (Muse) because it was the first of the MB-7 trilogy, it was co-written, we adored our villain, the huge amount of nods to James Bond. And it kicked off a series with a level of plot intricacy that I will never be able to top.
Showbiz (Sherlock / Muse) because it was such a crazy crossover but I had so much fun dissecting Sherlock and I was very happy with the result.
Honourable nod to a figure skating fanfic I wrote with Alexei Yagudin / Michelle Kwan, years ago. It was self-indulgence of the greatest kind and I loved writing every word of it. I have no idea if it's online anywhere atm. I wish I could remember the title!

Tagged by @aeide and @ainulindaelynn, thank you two!
1) How many works do you have on AO3? 22, so far.
2) What’s your total AO3 word count? 140,852
3) What fandoms do you write for? Quite a couple now! And amazingly I have even more unposted. The Hobbit, Fallout 4, The Old Guard, Supernatural, The Legend of Zelda, Full Metal Alchemist, Greedfall, BG3, Horizon: zero dawn, uhhhhh.
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1 - Lingua Franca (by a landslide)
2 - Soil and Ashes
3 - Kitsukuroi
4 - what you call a thing is seldom what it is
5 - Prima Lingua (I was surprised this wasn't higher up given that its connected to Lingua Franca)
5) Do you respond to comments? I try really hard but usually end up responding very late in bursts. If you've commented on my work and haven't received a reply... i'm working on it. I will get there eventually. This is a turtle vs hare situation.
6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?...This is hard cause most of my fics are unfinished as of right now but.... I think Lacuna for posted but unfinished fics and uh. two of my so far unposted BG3 fics will take the running once they get posted.
7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? A lot of them could probably be considered the "happiest" mostly cause i usually make the characters go through the worst of it right before the resolution so comparatively they're happy. >.>
8) Do you get hate on fics? So far no, maybe the occasional pedantic comment that i just... ignore. I think LF was the only fic where I had to deal with that. Perks of being relatively small in fandoms.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Nah, not my cup of tea.
10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? The only one I've written I think is the Hob Gadling meets Sebastian Le Livre and become immortal drinking buddies. That's only been posted here on tumblr though.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge!
12) Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge :)
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope, I'd be open to the idea of any of my writer buds want to try something low stakes for fun and giggles.
14) What’s your all time favorite ship? I'm not sure I could answer this one cause I'll immediately think of another ship the moment I try and define a favorite ship for 'all time'. Which is great cause there's so many good fandoms and ships out there, what a cool thing to never run out of.
15) What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I also am not a super big fan of this question cause sometime a fic needs years to crystalize into what its supposed to be and we're all doing this for fun/for free... sooooooo you get what you get, and WIPs aren't worth less to the fandom just because they're incomplete.
16) What are your writing strengths? Making people cry (hopefully)
17) What are your writing weaknesses? Anything resembling a consistent writing or posting schedule.
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? You ask this as if I didn't do a ton of research and base my own knowledge of linguistics to write semi-coherent lingurian in Lingua Franca. If I feel I can pull it off to some degree and it adds to the story? oh hell yes. It's also one of my favorite literary devices in fic and in shows (I'm looking at you Shogun 2024, you beautiful beautiful tv show on the intrigue of translation)
19) First fandom you wrote for? uhhhh. Naruto on like, fanfic.net for the super old stuff. The hobbit for my modern era lmao.
20) Favorite fic you’ve written? I don't have a favorite, I think? My brain just kind of demands I make up stories and like, I am a happier person having made up stories so I do that. Each story has something I absolutely adore about it that I needed to explore but none of them are my absolute favorite above the others.
And that's all folks. I'd love to tag @ongreenergrasses, @lobstermatriarch, @green-nbean, @findusinaweek, @aevallare, @avelera, @tirsynni, @nagia-pronounced-neijia , @poppypopp and with any other writers who'd like to play :) No pressure though!!

Fic writer interview :D
Thank you @eoinmcgonigal for the tag!!
Welp let's see how this goes. I've been doing the writing thing for a little over two years, I think? Time has flown and I have done... little.
How many works do you have on AO3? 21.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 57,611. None of which have reached over the 12,000 mark.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Something, Old, New, Broken and Blue at number 1, followed by Something Precious, a Bold Beginning, My Soul Says Ouch and Match Made in Vain. The top 3 are for Stranger Things, and the 4th and 5th are for Mafia: Definitive Edition. I reckon the top ones are at the top mainly because they're a bigger fandom.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do, I'm always so happy when I get them, but I worry I sound like a broken record. there's only so many ways to thank someone for reading and commenting, even though I'm overjoyed every time it happens.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Possibly Ready for Table for Doctor Who's The Two Doctors, since that doesn't end in a good spot for the main character, but the canon story has a good ending, so you know it's going to be ok. Probably Bon Appetit, for Mafia: DE, since it's a dark yandere cannabilism fic.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? That's a tough one, most of mine have happy endings. Possibly My Soul Says Ouch, since the characters spend so long pining over each other before getting together? Also my only polyam fic, (or at least where it's not just implied) so 50% extra love?
7. Do you write crossovers? I haven't, none have really occurred to me. I don't usually read them either, but if it's done well, I'll read it.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Not hate per se, but I did have one commenter who didn't like some things, and told me I could change things, and didn't need to stick to the canon. I quite liked my choices, though, and so did other kinder commenters. I do the fic for me, first and foremost.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Not in anything I've posted, but I'm currently writing a Galavant fic that has some, for angst reasons. I did have a tad in A Bold Beginning, but I danced around the subject so much that I don't think it counts. I'm ace, which I don't think helps much, I'm basing most of it off of what I've read.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope. Wouldn't mind if someone did though.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope.
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship? Mega tough one. Good Omens got me into it, but I haven't read much of them. Stobotnik, since I only watched the films for them? Two/Jamie? I read a lot of Johnlock, but that was ages ago. Geraskier? I think I just binge a ship and return to it if I really liked it. Depends if the ship's small or big, I guess.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I had a mermaid!Tommy au I tried to get going for a long while, but kept getting stuck on logistics. An omegaverse mafia fic, an angsty guilt fic, and even a fic for Forever (TV show from 2014). Plus a bunch of ideas that hit while I was writing something else, and I'd lost the fixation by the time I finished. There's still a few sticky notes with ideas in my phone, from inspo at work. I think I get a lot more ideas than I manage to write :(
15. What are your writing strengths? Beginnings. I love nothing more than going "Bang! Here's what's happening." Otherwise, I dunno what my strengths might be. Writing in full sentences for the first draft?
16. What are your writing weaknesses? Hanging on to the motivation to finish a fic. Not using a variation of the phrase "All they could do was hope." Nearly put that in thrice in three chapters by mistake, I'm sure it's getting old. Motivation for sure though, I miss the days when I was writing tropey one-shots, at least they were one and done.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I haven't really had a need to do it, and would worry about formatting if I did. Closest I've had to this was a heavily accented character, but I didn't really know how to write an accent and so I didn't write it in. Not sure if I'd do it that way again, but it made it easier.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Mafia: Definitive Edition. Wrote my first fic in one of my last year 12 math classes. Also the fandom that made me switch from looking at tumblr on Pinterest to actually being on tumblr. There wasn't enough content, so I had to go searching, and then make my own.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to? Really want to throw my hat into the ring on Wez/The Golden Youth, from Mad Max 2, but the only ideas I have for them are really long. Other ones I've considered writing include Forever, Red Dwarf, Sportarobbie from Lazytown, Johnny/Reg from SAS Rogue Heroes and Jude/Cardan from The Cruel Prince.
20. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written? I'm really liking the Galavant fic I'm writing at the moment, mainly because it's shamelessly self-indulgent. Probably one of my Mafia fics, Chosen by the Life, Choking on my Love or Bring Me Home. It's been a while since I've read my own stuff, this has been a real trip down memory lane.
Desperately trying to remember people who write so I can tag them... I'm so bad at names, if I miss you I'm sorry. And I may not know you at all well so I apologise if you find this weird.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by: @noodyl-blasstal thanks!!
Tagging: @fandomsnstuff @duck-newton I think a lot of people have been tagged already but if you haven't pls consider this an invitation to answer these as well!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
2 currently, but I plan on putting up my TAZNC work at which point I will have 15!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
4,680 right now, but that number will increase by a lot shortly since I think all my TAZNC works were between 1,000-4,000 words.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
TAZ, and I've got a few Owl House things in the works I hope to finish some day.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Show Me Yours, then The Thing With Feathers
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I love receiving comments and I love being able to talk a bit about what I was thinking when I wrote things.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually write a lot of angst, but probably this unnamed ficlet because nothing really gets resolved at the end, although it is a fairly hopeful ending.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
It's hard to pick, I write mostly things that leave a lot of possibilities open, but I'd say probably my 10th entry for TAZNC this year (man I really gotta name these things) because I think the emotional journey makes the ending more satisfying.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! I've only gotten very kind words and I'm extremely grateful for all of them.
9. Do you write smut?
Yup. Nothing I'm quite finished with yet but I have several in the works and I hope to get some posted soon
10. Do you write crossovers?
They're not really my style, but I think they are fun to think about and play around with!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, and I'm small enough right now that I think it's unlikely.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I've heard of
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I did once on a previous account, unfortunately I was very bad at finishing anything at that point in my life and I hadn't gotten on ADD meds, so we didn't finish it (my fault). I'd like to co-write something at some point, but I think I'd need to have more practice with writing/finishing longer stories before I felt confident about doing it again.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Taakitz babey! Top tier meet-weird plus some truly beautiful moments, and such a great dynamic to play around with
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm not sure I'd say "never," but there is one Taakitz fake dating fic that I would need to seriously rework in order to make it coherent. I hope to finish some version of it someday, but it certainly won't look like the current WIP.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Boy I wish I knew! Someone told me I have a "lyrical" writing style, so I'll take it! I do really like working with the flow of words. Also I wrote a lot of tender romantic scenes when I was a touch-starved closeted high schooler, and I was surprised by how easy those scenes feel to write in my current work.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I have a tendency to write too much lead-in and too much ending if I'm not careful, so I basically have to chop off the first and last bits of every fic. I am very bad at coming up with plots. I worry a lot about capturing characters' voices and can struggle with differentiating them. And as previously mentioned, I tend to start a lot of things and not finish them, although I think I'm improving in that regard!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm very wary about it for myself. I could just about manage French but for anything else I'd want someone fluent to look it over for me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Good Omens, back before the TV series came out! It was a pretty small fandom at that point, and I had to get my Aziraphale/Crowley angst out somewhere when I only knew like three people who'd read the book
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
I'm really proud of my TAZNC work, but I think I'm still proudest of The Thing With Feathers because I feel like I did exactly what I wanted with it and captured everything I was hoping to.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by: @eddiemunsons80sbaby 💖💖
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
My main posting site is tumblr, on which I have 387 titles in my masterlists, (443 individual writing posts if seperating multi-chaptered stories).
Then i've reposted 40 of these titles on AO3 and 10 on Wattpad.*
*Counted since 2018
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
40 fics - 518,511 words total
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I've written for MCU (actors) and co, the Irregulars, Stranger Things and One Piece (live action).
4. What are your top 5 fics?
I'm going by individual posts, not accumulated interactions through series.
Following the Herd
"Wearing His T-Shirt" blurb
"Overcoming the Nerves" blurb
Heaven and Hell
The Special
5. Do you respond to comments?
I always try my best to reply as soon as possible wether its an ask, reblog or comment. (Excluding wattpad, as i see that more like people annotating their reading and generally don't want to bother them. But i do always read them and appreciate them, and if something stands out or if someone comments a lot i will respond)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ooh i once killed reader off dramatically lol ("Car Crash" blurb) but I think the general reader's concensus would be Caught Me Slippin' , which I didn't even intend to make that angsty, but people cried (allegedly). And honestly, while i apologise for the emotional damage, i do take it as the highest compliment to be able to evoke such feelings.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my stories are quite happy and i'm not sure how to rate "happiness".
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I am actually surprised how scarce the hate is, and usually in the form of anons, because I always expect people to hate me. But thats on insecurities. Honestly, writing on here has always been amazing.
9. Do you write smut?
Yes. I hate it tho 😫 like, love smut in theory and concept but it's a bitch to write.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I love a lengthy and extended au, often inspired by other works (Not Wholly Evil is basically Stranger Things x Pirates of the Caribbean) but i think the only clear "crossover" i (remember to) have written would be Murder on the Dancefloor ??? which would be a tom holland x Strictly Come Dancing crossover lmao. I do often think about tv show crossovers in concept tho, but doubt i'll write any.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yup. Shit sucks.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, but it was done without my permission and uncredited (which is still stealing!!) so that sucks.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've dabbled in co-writing, haha, several times avtually, but for one reason or another, none of the projects were ever published. Would love to one day actually fully co-write something with someone on here.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
Ngl, i'm not sure I have one. Probably why all of my stories are 'x reader'.
15. What's a WIP that you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
At this point I think this about every single one of my WIPs and that's writer's block for ya.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm...i'd like to think the expression of emotion, showing how characters feel. And maybe world building- or thats at least my favorite thing in AUs. Maybe also details (either motives, references or foreshadowing)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm horrible at pacing. Always feel like i go too slow with the plot and then suddenly too fast and its all a mess, especially when it comes to series. Also just general knowledge on things; i feel like i don't know enough things to write about when it comez to daily and regular life, or even how to normally interact with people so that makes things hard when trying to be realistic. I also feel like i don't know enough words??? So things get really repetitive.
Oh, and this is also an aspect of writing- i'm horrible at getting feedback in the form of proofreading. It makes me physically sick having someone go through my work like that, and I barely do it myself. Which may result in some horrible typos/mistakes. And i do apologise profusely for that. Believe me, if you caught a mistake in my fic, i still think about it to this day.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in different languages?
Its always better if the writer is familiar with the language. Things you're comfortable with writing translate over better to the reader. It's like in movies/tv, its always better when you have an actor speaking a language they actually know. And if you don't know it, 1) ask yourself why are you writing it then and then 2) better research the hell out of it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
My first fic, that has since been deleted for a long time, was on wattpad and it was for a youtuber lmao. (peak 2013/15 era, thats all i'm gonna say)
20. Favorite fic(s) you've written?
From my most recent, in no particular order:
Following the Herd (eddie munson)
The Special (Sanji)
Not Wholly Evil (Eddie Munson)
Biggest Fan (Buggy)
Headlights (Eddie Munson)
This was so much fun to do at 4/5 am haha. Thank you for the tag again. Here are some peeps i'll be tagging (no pressure) 💜

20 questions for fic writers!
tagged by @valeriianz like agggges ago <3
20 questions is looong so you get a cut
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
89
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
191,620
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I'm pretty monofannish outside of exchanges, so right now just Sandman TV. Previously The Magnus Archives, Fullmetal Alchemist and Lucifer TV. Otherwise, I write whatever I've been assigned in a fic exchange recently.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
And Feeding (TMA, pre-Jon/Martin, Gen, which ironically I do not ship), Scheherazade (TMA, Jon/Distortion!Michael, Explicit, which I very much do ship), shark smile blues (FMA, adult!Ed/Roy, Explicit), When in Rome (Lucifer, Chloe/Lucifer, Explicit), If Only Grant a Name (Sandman, Dreamling, Explicit)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
In bursts with vast swathes of time in between. The fic only exists to me when I've just finished writing it and I only remember again when I'm answering comments for another fic and start going through my inbox. Object permanence!! So yes, I do, but it might literally be a year. Or seconds. It depends. If you ask me a question, you'll activate my insatiable need to provide information and I'm much more likely to respond quickly.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't write angst, at least not since my very very first teen songfics. That's Bower, in which I killed Dorian from From Eroica With Love, a VampChron fic in which I killed Armand, and and X-Files fic in which I killed Alex, and they're no longer online. Oh, and I guess all the world for love is pretty angsty, but that's The Last Unicorn for you. Apparently the only mode of angst I have is mourning a dead lover.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think they're all happy, but not everyone agrees that turning into monsters or going off with them forever is a great ending so mileage may vary. Traditionally happy? In which many loose ends are gathered together, Howl/Sophie, bookverse Howl's Moving Castle, Gen. Or Pink Slip, Sandy/Rizzo, Grease, Gen.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not often at all in 25 years.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Hell yeah I do. All kinds, what are you looking for? Mostly m/m. In this house, though we love and respect those who do, we do not fade to black.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not often. I'm fond of the Star Trek TOS crew meeting the G1 Transformers in Meeting of Minds, but the craziest is probably young Jessica Fletcher from Murder, She Wrote encountering the world of The Neverending Story in The Next Part of Your Story. Which, I now recall, were for the same exchange recip who's open to crossovers.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, a couple of times.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I don't have the temperament for it.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Whoever I'm obsessing over at any given moment. But I've never fallen out of love with Kirk/Spock, Buffy/Spike or Tony/Loki.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I exist in a state of optimism where I fully believe I will finish the few Sandman WIPs I have going.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Matching the feel of the canon, porn, and bending canon to my will.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
God I hate dialogue. Also I can't plot to save my life, I'm one of those 'press play on the mind movie and transcribe, gasping in surprise constantly' sort of writers.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Avoid, unless my POV character also doesn't understand the language. My goal is that my reader understands the story, not perfect authenticity. I'm looking at you, Charlotte Bronte and Villette. It benefits no one to be flipping and clicking all over the place to find out what the characters are saying.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The Vampire Chronicles
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Is Scheherazade (TMA, Jon/Distortion!Michael, explicit, so much blood kink). I'm really proud of It Came From Outer Space, which is my own little episode of Northern Exposure. And I'm also proud of City Of, which before If Only Grant a Name came and plonked its 20k+ into my life, was the longest thing I'd written. Sci-fi/horror, Stargate Atlantis, pre-McShep.
Tagging...look I bet you've all done this by now, this was going around so long ago and my brain is pudding. But! @ml-nolan, @beholdme, @beholdingthegaytimes, @beatnikfreakiswriting, @notallsandmen, @issylra, @chaosheadspace

okay i am compiling all my thoughts in a note as i watch lmao
1. love the dog. he’s adorable
2. journey!!!! separate ways- what a good fuckin song
3. now eurythmics?! this movie has a killer soundtrack. i did a jazz routine to sweet dreams once upon a time. it was so fun lol
4. the weird white robot-y ladies are giving me hardcore like, austin powers vibes lmao
5. hahahaaaaa mr orange guy… i like his helmet
6. oooooh there’s multiple orange guys. they both have cool masks/helmets. something about being unable to see the face and yet totally understand the emotion fuuuuuucks me up
7. omg this is going to get long i’m so sorry i’m like a quarter through the movie 😅
8. very good fight scene choreo, that always makes or breaks a show for me. poor choreo is painful to watch, but this is good! i like
9. umm. I’m guessing dad is the bad guy. he’s kinda shady lmao (oooooooh it’s a dad clone. love clones. they always throw wrenches in plans)
10. lmaoooooo dad so disappointed sam only has a dog and no gf 😭
11. haha is that a daft punk cameo? not my cup of tea in terms of music but that’s pretty neat
12. OH MY GOD MICHAEL SHEEN I LOVE HIM. he plays the most insane characters- and also the sweetest (aziraphale in good omens 🥺)
13. okay ngl i keep hearing “rinzler” and thinking of the rizzler and i can’t stop laughing about it 😂
14. LMAO HE JUST BONKED THE DUDE. i love percussive maintenance, that’s how i fix my car
15. oooooh i love a good “i was a good guy before i was evil and i remember” moment. Good shit
that was really good! i honestly didn’t remember any of it from whenever i watched it but that was dope. i can definitely see how you’re so invested in the story! now i’m pumped for your fic whenever it comes out 😂🥰
Answering all of your notes.... under a readmore so this isn't too too long, haha
1). Yes!!! Marv is so cute!!
2). I love that song so much.
3). yes!! the sound track is really good, but you won't find those two songs on it haha.
4).I've never seen that movie, so I'll take your word for it, haha. They are really interesting and I am intrigued by them lore wise, sad we don't get more about them in the movie (idk if theres more in the tv show? I haven't watch it yet cause it got canceled and ended on a clif hanger, but I should).
5/6. yes!! orange guys!! I love all of their designs, except for Jarvis (Clu's assistant), I know they where going for like.... hes weird and kinda cringe, but they could have done his design way better.
7. No worries!!
8. yes! the fights are good, and I think even tho Sam is like, a newbie to it, it still feels realistic? like the guy base jumps, I feel like him knowing how to fight is reasonable.
9. yeah that whole scene is so?? trippy haha. (I now, of course, only watch Rinzler doing his thing in the background when I watch this scene haha)
10. YESSSS ugh, I feel like he's more so disapointed that Sam isn't giving him much to go off of?? to Sam this is still the guy that abanonded him, but to Kevin this is his kid that he hasn't seen in so freaking long (time works differently on the grid, not to get super into it, but one year our time is 50 years grid time. So Kevin has been on the Grid for over 1k years.)
11. DAFT PUNK DOES THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK hahaha. Sorry, they are my og masked band and I still love them so much <3 (Legit I've only been listening to sleep token and daft punk for the majority this month). So all the music in the movie? was them, and that's why they where in it! really cool to me haha.
12.YES!!! he's such a good actor, shape shiftier I swear. His design is so cool, and I like Zeus as a villain. He's so interesting and I want to know morrrre. But we'll never get it oof.
13. LMAO
14.Yes, Kevin bonking that guy is so freaking funny. I feel bad for the program, but like. i love that scene. It's such a callback to the first movie, when Kevin was a cocky little shit, and I love it so much.
15. Tron in that scene breaks my heart.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!!! Like, I just.... legitimately can't express how excited I am that you liked it??
and yes... my fic..... I was working on it when I got your ask.... Rinzler and Sam are interacting... and I am... LIVING. HAHA. So little has happened it feels like, and yet... 18k... whooooo boy. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being my longest fic ever oof.

Fic author interview
Saw this and it looked like fun so here we go!
How many works do you have on AO3?
Eighteen although one is anonymous.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
265,386. Not the best but could be worse.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Frozen History 2895
Til Divorce Do Us Part 903
Battok 387
The First (And Likely Last) Batfamily Twister Tournament 215
Sibling Scrap 191
Putting the rest of the questions under a read more because it gets long!
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do. I feel so grateful for every comment and I need them to know how much I appreciate it. Plus the anxiety of a full inbox and the fear of being rude outweighs the anxiety from feeling like I'm artificially inflating my comment numbers.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Haven't actually finished it yet lol. In terms of finished ones there were a few old Naruto fics but I'd say more recently some of the stephcass ones. Either the evil batman au did to the overall premise even if it does end hopefully, or the one where Cass gets badly injured on patrol and it ends with both of them knowing she can't promise not to do it again next time because her life will always be less valuable than every other persons even if it causes Steph pain to see her hurt.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Shiny Happy People. Or the battinson au stephcass first kiss fic.
7. Do you write crossovers?
None so far unless you count fics that reference different batfamily comics
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
A few times lol, mostly with the more popular fics. Mostly about how the family treats Jason (which I make no apologies for lol there's plenty of fics out there that have everyone talk to him like they're a therapist and center his feelings above their own. I just don't think they're likely to do that in canon nor should I have to write them doing that just because it's popular. Let them be mean to each other.)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not opposed to writing it but no not yet lol. It's always easier for me to let the screen fade to black and skip it.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
A lot of my old fics from fanfic dot net appeared on copycat websites? Not quite stealing since they were still credited to me but it still felt weird since I have no idea what those sites are all about or who uploaded them there.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
People have asked and I've happily agreed but I don't think I ever checked back in to see if they actually managed it.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've had beta editors and people I bounce ideas off of but so far every fic has been written solely by me.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Brittana. The bond between a girl and the awful TV show that made her realise she wasn't straight is the strongest and most powerful force in the universe.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
My Reverse Robins au. By making it a collection of oneshots I've pretty much ensured it'll never be truly finished because I can keep coming back to it whenever I have a new idea.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue I think. It flows easily from my brain to the page. Other than that I've no idea lol.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I would say everything else but I know my friends would yell at me for thinking that. So maybe the way I struggle to finish fics and instead just keep writing until 3k one shots are multichapter 15k monsters
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If the POV character understands what's been said then I put it in italics. Otherwise I'd keep it in the original language and put the translations at the end. Never had to do it yet thankfully because I know I'd struggle getting accurate translations.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Naruto. It was a tragic comedy one shot about the akatsuki. Although technically it would be a zutara twilight au that I thankfully never published. (I didn't even ship zutara I just wanted to make a twilight au and thought he fit the role of Edward best)
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
Off the top of my head Cassrose and harpercass
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I can't choose overall, although I guess it would probably have to be Frozen History just for the sheer amount of effort and words I put into it. Even though there's so much that makes me cringe and that I'd want to redo, it was definitely a highlight for me at the time of writing. Most recently I'd say Occam.
Tagging anyone that wants to give this a try! I'm curious to see what other people's answers would be :D

fic writer interview
i was tagged by @useyourtelescope (many moons ago! and i was super flattered bc i love their fics! so thank you!! 💖 i am just real slow.)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 16!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
86,540
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
just the one! bridgerton.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
the florist who loved me – A look at the various Bridgerton family group chats as Anthony meets one Kate Sharma. (modern, text fic)
‘cause i know that it’s delicate – jealous Anthony, in-between their first kiss and Aubrey Hall. (canon era, missing scene)
Companionable – three times Colin shared a dance with Cressida Cowper, and one time he refused. (mixed tv/canon era; *despite the summary, this is very much a colin/pen fic!)
Of Two Minds – Violet breaks the news to Kate and Anthony that Colin and Penelope’s wedding is being moved up. (canon era, missing scene)
a (veritable) font of knowledge and gossip – Colin and Penelope help Agatha, Jane, Thomas, and George each find their match. (canon era, future gen, current wip)
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
i do! i actually really enjoy receiving a response from an author, i always want to be able to respond to my own. i’ve fallen behind over the past handful few fics, only bc sometimes i don’t know what to say to such nice things, but i do want to catch up soon to say thank you! truthfully i would rip my heart out of my chest for anyone who takes the time to leave a comment!
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
i’m not much of an angst person to be quite honest! maybe mementos or have i known you twenty seconds, or twenty years? only because they’re edmund/violet fics, and, well…
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
i never have. my brain is simply not big enuff.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
not really! but someone sent me an ask on here the other day re: a wip, asking me why i had made a character queer, which wasn’t all that great to receive. i just didn’t feel like answering so it’s just been deleted.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
just the one time, and probably never again. i feel like i was judging every single letter i typed as i was doing it. but it was a missing scene i always wanted to see – and it’s my favorite (🤠) kind of smut, domestic bliss – so i guess i wrote it for myself.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
😧 not as far as i know!
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
i haven’t!
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not yet, though @sofwrites and i might get around to a gregory/lucy one some time 🦆💚
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
there are so so many. i love ben/leslie and jake/amy so much (i think i created my ao3 profile just so i could read them), but for bridgerton, my favorites are penelope/colin, gregory/lucy and anthony/kate.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
my only current wip is a (veritable) font – i started drafting it last may, so it’s been a real, real slow process, but i’m almost done with thomas and i’ve got an outline for george, so i’m sure i’ll finish both. + my beta for it is the best. but there are two wip’s sitting on my desktop, one angst (rmb, but if penelope had been married and widowed before then) and one smutty (colin.... envisioning penelope’s boobs, because he said he had hundreds of times before their engagement night, which is just insane, off-the-charts horny behavior 💀), but i doubt i’ll actually get around to finishing either.
15. What are your writing strengths?
i think i’m pretty good at having several characters be in one scene! (i kinda get why jq wrote like two scenes with all the bridgerton family now. every time i do it, i think “why 🤡”) but – i’m really happy with how they turn out, in the end, and i think it’s become one of my strengths.
and family stuff! looking back at everything i’ve written, more of it is family-oriented than ship-oriented, and i think it’s also one of my stronger suits.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
i feel like i’m pretty dialogue heavy sometimes, and sort of second-guess when/where i need to add action a lot. i’ll just wonder, “do i need to say they walked across the room? isn’t it obvious they’ve already sat?” because i’m afraid i’m boring the reader by making note of something so plain, so there’s that. that, and i’m sure i overuse the em-dash.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
i’ve never done it (except for the thing i’m working on, which has a line of latin in it), but i’d probably ask a friend who spoke the language for help, if i were to write extensive dialogue.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
bridgerton, but there’s a jake/amy fic i never finished somewhere on my old computer. i’m only counting ao3, though – if we go back to ff.net though (😭) it was probably harry potter.
19. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
i feel like i’ve always thought it was “the florist who loved me,” because i’m a really disorganized writer and i’m happy with how it flows as a text fic (and it made me like, obscenely happy any time someone said it made them laugh), though i also love “a (veritable) font of knowledge and gossip,” and words of advice because they’re both very personal to me. but i do also really like family tree, because i just remember making this post, which then wouldn’t leave my mind until i turned it into a drabble. i think it’s short and sweet and fun and it’s two of my faves, gregory and colin.
and maybe also Dear Francesca, because it’s the first fic i published on ao3, almost 1 year ago now. i’d maybe only read 2 of the bridgerton books at that point, but it just irked me so much how much the bridgertons let francesca miss (like her sister’s whole ass wedding??) over the course of s1 😭
yeah i probably shouldn’t have answered with five different fics, but i normally feel more embarrassed than not talking about my own writing, so i’m just gonna put it all here for now.
