Fandom things I'm looking forward to:
Kingdom Hearts IV and Missing Link
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy IX Remake
Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster or Remake (whichever it is. I've heard both things)
The fourth Madoka Magica movie, whenever that comes out (seriously. Where is it? First it was announced as the Concept movie. Then it was re-announced years later with a new name, and it's still missing)
The Percy Jackson TV show
The Infernal Devices TV show
Maybe the Twilight TV show. Maybe.
The animated Smallville continuation that Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are working on, whenever it comes out
I was going to put Baron and Toluca on this list (that's, like, a spiritual successor to the OG "Roswell" TV show. Majandra Delfino who played Maria in the show wrote the script, and she and Brendan Fehr who played Michael star in it. They're also planning for more Roswell cameos in later episodes), but it came out and I didn't even know it? But I have no idea how to watch it, though, as I guess it only came out in theaters in Albuquerque. Here's hoping it comes out on DVD or something...
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes
The alleged Firefly reboot
The new Daredevil show
The Batman Part II
The next part in Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies
The DCU, starting with Superman Legacy in 2025
The Five Nights at Freddy's movie and Help Wanted 2
The Iron Lung movie
The TV show that it sounds like Markiplier will be working on after he's done with the Iron Lung movie
The next Bendy and the Ink Machine thing being worked on
MAYBE the Hello Neighbor sequel. I know. I KNOW! (It's really only because the second game had to end on a cliffhanger.)
Five Nights at Candy's 4
Frozen III
Disney's "Wish"
The next and final season of the Clear Card arc of Cardcaptor Sakura
The new Avatar series (the one about the third Avatar in the cycle: the Earth bender)
The live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, perhaps
The Chosen season 4
#As for things that haven't been announced#Ffxvi when that of course happens#The ffx remake if that rumor is true#I'm still hoping we'll get one more season of full metal panic to finish off the show. Please don't end things on a cliffhanger!#And no matter what I'll forever and always be pulling for a twewy3. Please give it to us Square. Pretty Please? With sugar on top?#I also still (mostly? Kind of?) wish we had a new Buffy show to look forward to. but alas. maybe someday#also after khiv nomura's all but confirmed that next is a verum Rex. And I'm. Like. Already pre-excited for that if that makes sense. Lol#And I don't know how to feel about the new death note movie adaptation I want to have faith in the Russo brothers but mostly I'm afraid#And I just- I LOVE death note. You all KNOW I love death note. But I just don't know what can be done with the story that hasn't already#been done#Unless you just completely change it and then piss off all of us fans. Again#I said it once and I'll say it again: i wish they were making a code grass movie instead (which has the beats they're looking to adapt in#death note. but other stuff too. and has never gotten a live-action adaptation so at least if nothing else it would be original)#there's also a part of me that wants to get caught up on winx club and see if this new season (that's maybe a soft reboot? but don't quote#me on that) will be better than some of the last ones and start getting the series in the direction in needs to be going again. hopefully#and isn't there some new pokémon season coming out where brock and misty reunite with ash (i read an article about it) which confuses me#because i thought the show ended?#unless the article was just talking about an english dub of the season that already aired in japan or something like that#i also should really get caught up on all of the sailor moon crystal stuff. shame on me for not being so!#somewhat. kind of. the next garten of banban game. God help me#kindergarten 3 if there ever is one#slayers: a buffyverse story would have been on here if they hadn't announced it after i made this list and if i'd remembered to come back#and add it. but i listened to it and loved it:)

Curious...hcs about the girls and their sleepovers?
You caught me right when I was re-drawing the season 3 pajamas. Good timing 💞💞
Since they all live together sleep overs function a little different than normal sleepovers. Personally I like to imagine they grab a bunch of stuff from their rooms and all camp out in the middle sitting area that's in their dorm, and that's where the sleep over takes place. Or they all pile up into one of their rooms...namely Stella or Aisha who both have the big full rooms to themselves
They have like a little set of rules that if you don't get everything you want out of your room you can't get it after the sleep over actually starts. This was implemented by Bloom to make it more sleepover-y (unless they all decided to do their make up or something, but then you can only grab your make up)
I like to imagine they do this after something perticually stressful, like the season three sleep over when Tecna is back safe and sound, and they all just wanna know that they're all here; or after a big victory
I imagine that there aren't any in s1 because their all getting to know each other, and this is established in s2 when Aisha joins the club because they all decide to stay up one night and catch her up on literally everything that happened last season. It was a cute little thing that Stella and Flora thought up to help Aisha feel more included and it's just a thing they do now
Flora is one of those people who likes doing other people's hair, she just has the energy, so I'm imagining her grabbing a bunch of the Winx's hair products and styling all their hair while they talk. She will also do nails. Flora just kinda finds this stuff fun. Just moving to person to person. She's still tuned into the conversation, but she prefers listening most of the time
Tecna is pretty lost, especially the first time. Tecna has a lot of isolated kid enegry, and a fuck ton of isolated kid tendancys so she has no clue what the fuck is going on but she's happy to be included. Ends up correcting half of what Musa and Stella say and accidentally playing the straight man to Stella's more theatric tendencies. She doesn't care much about gossip, and she has strong preferences to how she looks so most of the chatter and random make up sessions go over her head, but anything like dancing or playing games together is really fun for her. Usually ends up info dumping about her most recent project at least once during the sleep over while everyone listens to her. When she get more comfortable with the set up, shes the one who looks up "sleep over ideas" and convinces Stella to let Bloom to do her make up blind folded because it was a good sleep over challenge. She is sewing chaos and she isn't even a little bit sorry
Aisha is also a very isolated kid, but she's not as confused as Tecna because she's been semi living with the pixies and Anne breaking into her room so like. She knows what's going on, but she sincerely is struggling to keep up with their strong personalitys, especially at first. She actually really appreciates the first one, especially because everyone loved hitting her with plot twists while telling her the story (aka telling her what they learned in order of how they learned it) so Aisha got to be included via her reactions to the wild shit that went down in season 1 ("You attacked Diaspro?!" "Yea—wait you know her?"). After Aisha gets more comfortable she's with Musa and Stella being high energy about hanging out with all of her friends. Aisha's favorite part is doing a bunch of weird things with the Winx. Like trying to bake a cake or playing a chose your own adventure game where they all vote on which option Tecna chooses (bc Tecna is the one playing of course). She'd probably try and teach how to do random things she picked up (like Musa and the rain dance) or talk about magic ingenuity esp with Tecna. Aisha's morphix is a substance she makes all on her own so I'd imagine she's super into magical chem. Oh my god Aisha totally gets them to try random (small and non explosive) convergence spells just to see what would happen and Bloom is an enabler
Bloomy is bringing the classic sleep over energy. She attempts to get everyone to play a board game before realizing between Aisha's competitive nature, Tecna's logical mind, and Stella being a sore loser that it was a horrible idea. Definitely makes everyone friendship bracelets with those little rubber bands in the cool patterns I could never figure out. Flora is probably messing with Bloom hair the most because Bloom has slightly long hair and isn't constantly moving like Musa, Stella and Aisha. She probably convinces everyone to grab all their pillows to make a pillow fort, this is set during the s3 Tecna is safe party, and they all fall asleep in their cuddle pile. Tucked next to eachother and underneath the fort. Usually the one most excited to go along with anyone idea of what they should do! Tho she also is the one that likes movie nights the most and tries to get everyone to sit together in a cuddle pile and talk over a movie fkskdnen because, bless their souls, Tecna Stella and Musa can't watch a movie without talking about what's happening on screen. Bloom picks intentionally bad movies after she learns this so the entertainment is more from everyone's reactions than the movie (well at least to her because she doesn't like bad movies, Musa is having a great time)
Musa is slightly more chill than Stella and Aisha but is very easily caught up in their energy. Usually the one engaging with Stella the most over whatever she wants to do now. Stella tends to tease Musa a lot because then Musa will get into a pillow fight with her. Musa absolutely records at least one music video during one of these sleep overs, with everyone just fucking around having fun. Usually protests the lastest stupid thing Stella, Aisha, or Tecna wants to do and ends up getting super into it. Musa also is the one that ends up trying to prank the other girls, no one is safe
Stella is being Stella, must I go on? She challenges people to pillow fights. Grabs everyone make up kits so she can do looks for them. Starts designing outfits for each girl with feedback right then and there. Does everyone's nails. Gossips about everything, and pries into everyone's business like it's her god given duty (Truth or Dare is used for evil, aka it's intended purpose). Uses everyone like her personal pillow, and is generally the life of the party. Stella gives off a lot of extroverted and hyper active enegry so she's practically bouncing off the walls she's so happy to be hanging out with everyone at once for a full night. She's the main reason no one really gets bored during these because she always manages to drag anyone looking left out back into the conversation with like two sentences. She gets Tecna to go on a rant about something completely niche and inconsequential but funny as fuck. Probably convinces everyone to do an impromptu photoshoot, she's just having fun fksndj

Darn Pigtails
Hello! I genuinely have no excuse for this monstrosity of a piece that I agonized over for the past few days instead of focusing on my uni work. I’ve spent the last month obsessing over Fate and Rivusa (the latter has been a life long obsession and Fate has only added fuel to the fire, with just one scene...). Yes, I am a part of that clown circus and honestly, I’m proud. I’ve always been a writer, but never posted anything but I figure here goes nothing. I was very inspired by some very talented writers in this tiny little club that’s been created on here for this ship (you all know them by now...). I couldn’t resist adding my own (not so) little addition to the collection. I don’t currently have an account on ao3 or anything, so this is just what’s happening. Be warned, it’s long and maybe excessive (8k words, oops). Other than that, enjoy and feel free to let me know your thoughts!
It started with pigtails.
He'd seen Dowling parading her around the square as students fought tooth and nail to kill the fake dummies that seemed to embody their realistic counterparts more than they should have. She's had a raincoat on at the time, not that he would have cared what she was wearing because… how could he notice anything but the pigtails? Fucking pigtails! Long enough to reach her waist, dark enough to have him thinking that the darkest of night skies must have been modeled after that same color, and pin-straight from root to tip. She walked by, lavender sweater and loose jeans, and that's the first thing he noticed. Her pigtails. He felt his tongue move, the tip pressed against the top of his mouth, ready to make a crude comment about how he'd love to tug on those pigtails in more than one scenario because honestly, was he not supposed to with the way that they swung about perfectly matching the sway of her hips? His eyes lit up as he just about let the words tumble out, and then she let her eyes lift to meet his as she made her way through the specialists' training grounds. Brown eyes lingered over his green ones for longer than any normal interaction accounts for, before dropping downward to the rest of his form. His mouth quirked into a smirk.
"Oh," he thought. "So this is how we're going to play this game."
Never let it be said that Riven ever backed down from a game or a challenge. And it just so happened that this particular game, the cat and mouse chase, was one of his favorites. So he figured, if she could stare at him like that, it would only be rude not to return the favor. He turned around, let his eyes fully graze over her whole figure the way he'd been too distracted to do before, and that's when he noted the stick she held. Whatever dumb comment he'd been so eager to make about her pigtails was quickly replaced by, "You like holding that big stick?"
He'd hoped for a reaction. And boy did he get one, a swift and lithe little trick she'd been hiding, seemingly waiting for the chance to pull it out. And even though he'd been training his whole life to defend himself, he just about let her jab his left eye out because he was so very much intrigued by the way her hair swayed to meet her movements and her brown eyes that bore into him with rage. Yeah, this was going to be all kinds of fun.
"I think I just threw up," she said, her face twisting into clear disdain. But her eyes sparkled and he thought maybe her hair is not the only thing the night sky was modeled after. He'd seen her before, somewhere in the background perhaps. Class? No. If she were a specialist and in his classes, there was no way in hell he wouldn't remember her. The cafeteria? Probably, there was only one place to get food in this godforsaken place and he doubted she hadn't made her way down there at least once. The Alfea hallways? Again, not unlikely. And that's when it clicked into place. She was one of the too many to remember (in his opinion) roommates of Sky's new obsession- Bloom. The four, sometimes five, of them were always together, huddled up beside one another in the cafeteria benches or on the way to classes. Honestly, now that he thought about it, was there ever a time when he'd seen those girls- besides Stella- alone? He definitely had never seen her alone. "Well, better take advantage of the chance," he thought. So, he dug into her, asked about her little run around the training grounds with the headmistress. He wanted to see how far he could push her rage, how willing she was to give him a good show. Between comments about dancing and fairies versus specialists, her eyes flashed purple and he soon realized that he'd bit off more than he could chew. As if her natural brown irises weren't alluring enough, the way they looked when he powers took over held a whole other sense of siren's lure within them. It took him a second to realize what was happening, that she was reading him. And he would have let her continue too, if it meant that he could hold her attention just a little while longer and feel whatever kind of electricity was rippling between the two of them for a few more minutes. Too bad she chose that moment to let him know exactly what she was doing, and exactly how he felt.
"You really hate being here, don't you?"
In this school, yes. Here, right now, with her eyes all over him and his hands twitching to edge upwards and brush his hands against those darn pigtails? No. No, he would have loved to stay right here just a little longer. But he was more scared of whatever hell she'd dig up from within him, so instead he told her to stay the fuck out of his head. He caught a glimpse of her prideful smirk, taunting him about this lost battle and her evident win, right before he whirled around and walked his way back to wherever his legs would lead him.
Passing by the guy he'd seen constantly following her around like a lost puppy dog, the one he assumed was her boyfriend, he murmured under his breath something along the lines of "Good luck with that one."
And then he was gone. But not before he remembered that he hadn't caught her name. No matter. As previously mentioned, never let it be said that Riven ever backed down from a challenge. She'd won this battle, but he was going to win the war.
_______________________________________________________________
The next time he found himself in her company only, the world had flipped on its axis.
Dowling and Silva were gone and Harvey had turned into a muted professor, almost never seen anywhere except in the greenhouse when he had classes to run. The new headmistress, Rosalind, ruled with a grip tougher than steel. Andreas was  the male version of her, so not any better. Fairies were being forced into combat positions, whether they liked it or not, and upperclassmen specialists were forced into being their mentors, whether they liked it or not. Classes were stricter. You miss one lesson, you make up two class times in personal training with either Andreas or Rosalind herself. At first, everyone'd thought that was a stupid rule. Who doesn’t want a one-on-one with the professors? It took just one dumb third-year specialist missing his first lesson on the first day of the second term for everyone to realize that these training sessions were practically abuse covered with a prettier name.
But the thing that had changed the most, the thing that he couldn't even begin to name, was whatever the hell was happening to his mind. He no longer knew where his day started and where it ended. He knew he must have gotten up every morning and  gone to classes and eaten to sustain his body for the brutal training session that followed and delt with whatever else needed dealing with. And yet, he remembered none of it. None of it except the moments spent chasing Sky around (which inevitably meant chasing the Winx suite around), the moments spent training his new fairy mentee- Musa, and the nightly runs to Dowling's- no, Rosalind's- office where he involuntarily spilled every little detail about his day. His mind had become an utter blur, his thoughts were no longer his own. He knew somewhere in his mind that he needed to stop, had tried endlessly to stop, but the more he held back from Rosalind's spell, the faster his words seem to come out. So, he'd stopped trying to fight it.
It was to his horror when he had been assigned Musa for training. He wasn't sure what he had expected. Of course they were going to pair him with a Winx suitemate, he just had expected it to be Bloom. Bloom was who they wanted details on after all. Even Stella would have made more sense, what with her mother being so very controlling. But no. Bloom went to Sky, Stella to some third year specialist, and he got Musa. If guilt wasn't already shredding him to pieces, it would be now.
He tried to console himself with the fact that he was better prepared to handle her this time. He'd spent enough time with Sky and the girls to have picked up the little details about her. She constantly listened to music to block out the world, she liked wearing shorts and miniskirts (a fact he quite enjoyed), she had an unhealthy obsession with bomber jackets (a fact he could do without when she was also wearing lacy silks under those same jackets), she liked pancakes for breakfast (but only when they were drenched with maple syrup), and the list goes on. His personal favorite fact, however, was that her hair was always immaculate and never the same two days in a row.
The point was, he could do this. All he had to do was train her. No talking necessary. She sure as hell was not about to strike up conversation with him if he didn't bother her. So, he'd keep his mouth shut and just teach her what he needed to teach her. Then he'd leave. That way, when his legs would inevitably carry him to Rosalind at midnight on the dot, he'd have nothing to give her but a good rundown of what moves they had practiced.
How wrong he had been.
He had clearly overestimated his ability to not falter in front of her, because the second she walked into the mat, he knew he'd have to say something.
This time, her hair was in tightly wound braids. Two of them, wrapping vertically down her scalp like fine rope. This time, he wants to undo her hair, to tug the black elastic ties out of place and run his fingers through each threaded piece until the strands lay about her shoulders in waves. He'd like to know what she looks like with her hair down, like fully down.
As if the hair wasn’t enough, she was also dressed in the tight female version of the specialist gear. It's all green woven material that crosses her chest, black mesh that lines her sides, and tight leggings that bring an ungodly amount of attention to her ass.
So, he slips up. "If I knew this is what you'd look like in a uniform-" he starts, but never finishes.
"Don't you dare finish that thought," she warns, voice dripping with a no-nonsense attitude.
"What's gotten into you?"
"It has not been my day. Hell, it has not been my week."
"It hasn't been anyone's week," he feels the need to remind her. And when she looks at him with those eyes, he wonders if she can read right through him without having to use her magic.
"Yeah, well. Let's just say I'm having a particularly more-so-than-average-shit day. So I'd appreciate it if you kept the comments to yourself." She's frustrated, he can see it. She's giving him the perfect out of a bad situation. She's begging him not to talk to her and that's exactly what he needs but goddamn it, he can't back away from a challenge even when his mind is in literal hell.
"What, can't handle me?" She scoffs at that.
"I can handle you just fine. I've been handling other's comments and thoughts since my powers started showing up. That's not the problem.
"What is the problem then?" He's digging, searching for something. For what, he's not sure. She's just finished lacing up her boots. She looks at him then, stares him down.
"The problem is I don’t want to handle you right now, Riven." And with that, she shoves past him to the center of the mat. But he's not done yet.
"You sure about that? I've never met a girl who doesn’t want to handle me before…" He wiggled his eyebrows at her, and she chuckles a little at his antics.
"Yeah, no. But even if I did want to, you'd really have to do better than that.
"What, the line wasn't up to your standards?"
"Was it up to yours?"
"Not my best, I'll admit. But I make do. And you can't tell me Harvey Jr. has done any better." Rage flushes through her features at that particular comment. He watches as her cheeks flush bright red and as the flush slowly spreads to her neck and below the rounded collar of her uniform, slowly cursing whoever created the damn thing for not making it a V-neck.
"Ooh, a reaction! Go on, then. Tell me what's going on in that pretty little head of yours."
"None of your fucking business."
"It never is, and yet I'd love to know."
"Seriously, Riven. Let's just not talk." She wound up, ready to burst. Her hands are balled into fists by her side and her back is arched towards him in anger. She's a spring ready to jump, and he wants to see how high she can reach.
He goes for the typical line, "Trouble in paradise, then?"
Turns out she can jump pretty damn high, something he expected. What he didn't expect was for her to jump him. She pushes him with so much force that he barely catches himself before he falls. Tears stream down her face as she punches at his chest (hopelessly, he notes… he's got a lot to teach her). He lets her continue the onslaught on his chest, is impressed by her force and strength and persistence even if the form is all wrong. When she finally stops, the tears do too. All that's left are her hiccups and his eyes following her every movement. He watches her dry her eyes vigorously, hears her curse him and the school and herself… and Sam? He's not sure what's happening right now, not sure why his arms suddenly want to wind around her frame and pull her in, or why his heart clenches at the sight of her tears. He chooses to ignore it all.
They continue the rest of the training session in silence, with him only speaking to direct her movements and point out a thing or two about her form. Later that night, after running through his nightly routine with Rosalind, he finds out from Sky that Bloom was especially distressed today because Musa was especially distressed today because Musa and Sam had decided to call it quits. Riven feels light-headed at that news,  and he's still not exactly sure why his body is so adamant about reacting to news involving her.
He rolls into bed, thinking bitterly to himself that he won today. He won this battle. So why does it feel like he lost it?
______________________________________________________________
They continue their training sessions in silence for a while, until eventually a banter sparks between the two of them. He's not quite sure how it happens, just as he's not quite sure how anything happens anymore. He assumes he probably made some joke about how good her legs looked in those damn tights or about how she desperately needed help with her fighting stance. Maybe he just wore her down with his constant questions. He doesn't really care, to be honest. He knows he should care, in the same way that he knows he should actually avoid talking to her instead of showing up every day eager to see her. He just can’t bring himself to do it, not when she shows up in that uniform every day or when she looks at him with so much pride when she finally nails a move they've been working on for so long, and definitely not when she starts to initiate the playful conversations with the same smirk that he would maybe like to kiss off her face. There's so many things he should do at the end of the day, but he does none of them. He just lets whatever happens happen, and it kind of works out for a bit. They tease each other, teeter-tottering somewhere between playful and full on flirting. They fight in close combat corners, sometimes ending up on top of each other. Those days are a personal favorite of Riven's, especially when she's on top of him and he can feel her thighs straining against his waist as she pins his arms above his head. (He may have taught her that one move just for this moment. He felt it was a shame to not put those dance-trained legs of hers to use.)
The perfectly odd tightrope they walk snaps on a Wednesday afternoon, after they've finished training and are walking toward the benches that hold their water bottles. He takes a swing of his water, and then looks up from his seat to see her standing up and chugging her own bottle. A loose droplet slips past her lips and down her uniform's tank top. He follows it with his eyes, not even bothering to hide the very obvious motion even as she finishes her drink, looks at him with a raised eyebrow, and then chuckles at him while rolling her eyes.
"You could be a little less obvious, you know." She calls him out casually. He smirks at the comment before dragging his eyes back up to her brown orbs.
" Subtle isn't really my forte. Besides what fun would it be if you didn't know I was staring at you?"
She rolls her eyes, but her smile gives her away. "You're gonna give some poor girl a heart attack one day if you look at her like that." It's a teasing remark, but he feels his adrenaline hike up at her comment. The game is back on.
"Some poor girl, huh?" He leans into her on the bench, invades her personal space. She blushes, looks directly ahead, and he thinks he's winning another one of the many secret battles they seem to find themselves fighting. Then, she turns to him and looks him dead in the eyes.
"Can I ask you something?" He didn't expect that. Again, he knows he should just leave or say no. Anything to avoid a conversation that could lead to more than just a flirting banter, anything to avoid something that Rosalind may actually be interested in. But she's looking up at him with wide eyes and he's convinced he's become weak and that she's won this battle because he can't bring himself to say no.
"Uh… sure?"
She looks around nervously, as if deciding whether to ask what's on her mind or not. Finally, she leans close to him and asks in a slow and quiet voice, "Where do you sneak off to every night at midnight?" He pulls back from her faster than he thought he would ever be able to pull away from her, blinking down at her now shocked face.
"How-"
"How do I know? You have a roommate, Riven. He hears you leave every night and says nothing about it, but he's been worried about you. He says you've been acting different… For what it's worth, I think he's right. Especially when we're not in training sessions, you're completely out of it. I know this has been a rough mon-"
This is it. She's dug deep enough that she has hit rock bottom, she's found the dead-end at the bottom of his soul. He has to let this banter go now. He can't have her asking questions he'll then have to report back to Rosalind.
"You know nothing." He words are curt and sharp. She flinches at their edge, but doesn’t back down. It's one of his favorite things about her, her persistence.
"You can talk to me if something is wrong, you know? Or to Sky or the girls… you can talk to any of us…" He watches as her eyebrows furrow, traces the line they form down her nose to her lips and then back to her eyes. And that's when he notices that her eyes have changed color to purple. He grabbed her hand quickly and firmly, enough to break her concentration but not enough to hurt her (God, even in his rage, it would never be enough to hurt her).
"I've told you not to do that. Not to use your damn mind powers on me." His voice is strained, laced with anger and something resembling fear.
"I'm trying-"
"I don't care what you're trying. You shouldn’t be in there. You shouldn't be in my brain. There's nothing in there worth your time or energy and there never will be."
And with that he spins on his heel and marches into the forest behind the training grounds. He doesn’t turn around, but if he did, he would have seen Sky moving out of the shadows and heading toward Musa.
"Did you do it?"
It takes her a second to interpret his question. She still staring into the distance as Riven's figure fades out of view, her eyes finally returning to their normal brown color. She continues to stare at the dot in the distance, unwilling to look away as if she's daring him to turn around and spare her one last glance. He doesn't.
"Yeah. Yeah, I did." She finally turns to Sky. "He's completely blocked from my powers. Dowling was right, he's under some sort of mind control."
______________________________________________________________
It’s 2AM by the time Riven finally makes his way to the room he shares with Sky. He's once again not really sure where his day went or what he did after he flipped on Musa and marched his way into the woods after their little spat. He remembers anger, a lot of anger. He's angry at her for trying to dig into his brain when they had already established that he hated it. He was angry at Dowling for dying (at least, he assumes she's dead because where else would she be?) and leaving the school to the psychopath that is Rosalind. He's angry at Rosalind for manipulating him, controlling his mind. He's angry at Beatrix for getting him into this stupid mess. But mostly, he's angry with himself for letting it all happened, for somehow always making the wrong move at the wrong time, for managing to screw up his own life in such a grand manner that it constitutes an award (truly, he's outdone himself this time). He's mad at himself for not being able to control his own mind, for letting Rosalind take up residence in his brain and being able to do nothing about it. He's even angry at himself for not just standing there and letting Musa read his emotions, because maybe if she did then she'd know the hell he was in. His brain was constantly pulling in all different directions, trying desperately to get away from the constraints of Rosalind's spell. Headaches are nonending and thoughts leave as soon as they come. It's like there's two people waging war within him, but one of them brought swords to a gunfight and is losing horribly. But it’s a war he feels he should fight on his own, and maybe that's why he didn't let her read him. As much as he hates to admit it, the mind control and guilt was breaking him but he could handle that. What he couldn't handle, however, was getting her involved in this stupid mess by mistake, which would inevitably lead to Rosalind getting ahold of her as well. God knows there's only so much room left in hell or sins, and he'd be damned if he hadn't already filled all the available spots.
He was glad for the day to finally be over, glad to be heading to bed (not sleep though, sleep did not exist when his mind was in so much pain all the fucking time). It seemed the world had other plans for him, however, because upon opening the door to his dorm, he was met with a sight that he both dreaded and wanted to burn into his memory for the rest of however long he had to live before Rosalind finally took pity on him and bent his brain to death.
Perched on his bed, leaning forward ever so slightly, elbows meeting her knees, and head bend toward the floor was Musa. From his angle, he could only see her side profile, but apparently that's all his body needed to be automatically sent into a frenzy. The first thing he notices was, not to his surprise, the hair. She'd replaced her training braids with buns, big ones that hang precariously form her head as tendrils of her dark hair fell in loose waves and framed her face. He again found himself wondering what she would look like with all of her hair fully down. His fingers itched to burrow into those carefully constructed space buns and pull their pins out of place, just to see if she'd look half as beautiful with her hair down as she did with her hair up.
He stood like that for a while, taking her in and letting her continue to stare at the dark wooden floors with her eyebrows furrowed in concentration. He's not sure when, but eventually she turned toward the door, eyebrows first shooting up when she noticed him staring at her, and then falling back into place as she shot him a shy mile from across the room.
"Hey," came her greeting in a small voice.
"What the hell are you doing here?" His question was harsh, but he knew himself well to know that if he even let just one layer of himself down with her, he may as well just lay down all his defenses. She had a way of getting him to speak and break down and he wasn't about to let himself get her mixed up in whatever evil plan he'd been helping construct against his will.
Too bad for him, because it seemed Musa had been expecting a fight and was ready to fire back his quips with some of her own. She simply rolled her eyes and casually stated, "Well, then, straight to it, are we?"
"If you're looking for Sky or Bloom, they're probably in a dark hallway somewhere snogging each other half to death," he answered. She grimaced at the image.
"Yeah, no. I'm not here for Bloom or Sky."
"Then you're not here for anyone." She gave him a pointed look at that phrase. He wisely chose to ignore it and instead made his way to the couch in the middle of the room, throwing his jacket somewhere on it.
"What, that's all you have today? I'm standing on your bed, we're alone in your bedroom, I'm in a miniskirt… and you're not going to make a comment about showing me a good time? You're losing your touch, Riv." She was teasing him, he could tell by the light tone of her voice. Maybe she liked to see his reactions the way he so enjoyed watching her react to his own snarky comments. Maybe she saw enough into his brain earlier to have dug up some of his fantasies. Damn her, he'd been avoiding looking anywhere but her face since he walked in, and now here she was basically challenging him to do more. Damn him and his inability to back down from a game he was so clearly not apt to win at the moment. He turned around and finally got a good look at her. She was indeed in a miniskirt, under which she had tucked a lacy white top that was very clearly meant to showcase the black bra she wore underneath the pitiful excuse of a shirt. Her signature red bomber jacket hung from her shoulders and the black boots she had on were laced all the way up to her kneecaps.
This must be it, he thought. This must be his punishment for spilling his guts to Rosalind every night. Or maybe, his guilt and the pain throbbing through his veins had finally won out and he was finally cracking under all that pressure. That's fine. He wasn't even surprised this is what his brain chose to tease him with at the brink of destruction. He figured she'd be the one to shatter him, it was only a matter of time.
"Hello? Are you even listening to me?" Her voice broke him out of his trance. Ok, maybe he wasn't imagining her.
He sighed, defeated and broken and just tired. "Why are you here, Musa?"
It’s a staring match now. He watches as her eyes soften and the sarcasm leaves her features.
"I couldn’t read you earlier today. In the training grounds-" No. Anything but this conversation.
"Maybe you should consider working on those powers of yours then. Seems to me like you're the one losing your touch."
"I'm serious, Riven-"
"I am too."
"Jesus, Riven, let me just finish!" Anger sparked in her features. "You're loud, Riven." He scoffed at that. "Your emotions, I mean. They're usually loud… but they're also lively and harmonious, in a weird way that I can't seem to figure out. Lately, however, they've been quiet… as if they don't exist at all. And at first I thought it was me, I thought I was getting better at controlling my powers. But when I tried to read you today, I felt nothing…" There is was, she had figured it out, and now she looked at him as if he was a science experiment she couldn’t quite figure out.
"… Maybe my hearts just finally turned to stone." He tried for a joke. She did not find it amusing.
"I know, Riven." He's not sure what that was supposed to mean. What did she know? That he was a horrible person? That he'd snitched on her and all their friends (were they his friends?) to the queen of evil? Or worse, that his body lit up whenever she was around?
"Cryptic, but ok. I guess between that line and the fact that you somehow snuck into my room, you could make the whole 'good girl turned bad, mysterious girl' vibe work. Honored I'm the first you're trying it out on. If you'd like to take it a step further, the bed's right behind you." She may have the upper hand in this game, but he's still a stubborn ass.
"Seriously, Riven. I'm not kidding." She took a step toward him. Wrong move, angel.
"I know you're not. That shirt doesn't exactly scream 'kidding'. Tell me, did you just choose the first thing you found in your closet to put on?" He took a step forward this time, one long stride before they stood chest to chest and he hooked his finger under her chin. "Or is that shirt part of this whole 'mystery girl' scheme? Because, I won't lie, it's working." He sees her shiver at his words and doesn't bother to hide the smirk that graces his face. Finally, things were getting interesting. "Wonder if it looks half as good on my bedroom floor…" He noticed her eyes flicker downward, to is lips, but they moved back up just as quickly. He stared right back at her, watching as she struggled to make up her mind about where to slap him for that last comment. He didn't have to wait too long for a response.
"I'm sure you do." Her words came as a whisper, and the smirk that followed was just as alluring. He barely had time to process the meaning behind it all, before she crashed her body onto him and her lips found his. Her hands gripped into the sides of his t-shirt, keeping him to her with such force that he vaguely wondered why in the world she felt the need to do that when he wouldn't dream of walking away from this, from her. It's frantic and it's rushed. One of his hands find her waist, pulls her impossibly closer to him. His other hand delves into the hair at the back of her head before sliding to the side and pulling at the pins that hold her right bun in place. It takes him pulling out just one pin and the structure falls apart, her hair tumbling around them and cocooning them in place. He hears her gasp, her hands finally unlatching from his shirt as she splays them apart over his muscles, moves them up to his shoulders.
He's moving backward, whether to ask her if this okay or make a comment about that noise she just made, he's not sure. He never gets the chance. She pulls his to her again, kisses him like she's been starved in a thirsting in wasteland for days and he's the first sign of water she's stumbled upon, bites his lip- fucking bites his lip and sucks on it and pulls it with her teeth… and he thinks that her being here could not have been his punishment. This, right here, her kissing him like this, this is his punishment. This is his pain finally taking over and shattering his soul.
Maybe Rosalind somehow found out about his little crush and is getting payback for the fact that he didn't show up for their nightly midnight story time. Maybe, he's already dead and in hell and some devil out there is playing a cruel, cruel trick on his brain. Maybe that's why his body is shaking, literally shaking, and his mind feels like its tearing apart. He feels Musa's hands on his scalp, her palms splayed out at his temples and fingers tightly wound into his hair. Again, he is surprised at the sheer force she seems to pour into her touch, anchoring him to her as though he could ever want to leave her embrace.
He's so wrapped up in his thoughts and in her touch that he barely hears the whimpers of pain coming from her or feels the tears streaming down her face as she hold him to her. When he finally feels the tears trickle between their lips, be pulls back (genuinely, pulls back because her fingers are still forcing him to her), opens his eyes to find her already looking back at him. But instead of the brown irises she wore when this rough little make out session started, her eyes are now purple. And her face is red. She looks exhausted. He feels exhausted.
He's about to ask her what's wrong, if she's ok, if her powers are going haywire. But he's so dizzy and so tired and suddenly he's leaning on her and she's pulling him onto the bed. She looks down at him, whispers "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" over and over in his ear and he finds himself wondering what she's sorry about and where the pain that haunted him for weeks has gone before he slowly sinks into oblivion.
________________________________________________________________
He wakes up and she's gone.
It's Sky who sits next to him the next day, Sky and Headmistress Dowling of all people. He mumbles something about being dead and hallucinating, but Sky just laughs and tells him he's happy to have him back.
It takes a good few hours to catch him up on all the shit he's missed while he was being controlled by Rosalind. Apparently, Dowling was stuck under a bunch of plants? The girls somehow managed to free her with some potion from a cousin of Terra's. Turns out they've been sneaking out every night, pretending to go to parties and instead heading outside the barrier trying to find clues on what the hell Rosalind is up to. That would explain Musa's choice of clothing the other night.
Sky tells him it was the girls' idea to keep him out of the loop at the beginning, worried that his weird obsession with Beatrix and her even weirder obsession with him would lead to Andreas and Rosalind finding out. Sky swears they were going to tell him eventually, and Riven has to tell him that he's glad they didn't. That's when Sky tells him what he'd already guessed. It was Musa who refused to tell him even after time has passed, sensing that something was wrong in his mind. Her being in their room the other night had been no mistake, but an orchestrated move. She'd practiced with Dowling for weeks, training to unlock his brain, pull it apart so that she could mentally remove Rosalind's control from his brain by sheer willpower and might, and then put it all back together as best she could.
He's instinctively proud of her, she did it. But, he also wishes she'd done it with less kissing and in some less distracting attire, but he probably deserves the type of torture that will surely follow as a result of last night. After they fill him in, Sky throws his gear at him and tells him to get dressed and ready.
"We leave tonight."
"What? Where are we going?"
"That's a bit complicated." It's Dowling who answers this time. "Silva and Professor Harvey will meet us in the woods beyond the barrier. We will lead you the rest of the way. We're going to collect forces. There will be a war, and Rosalind will know that something is wrong when you miss your nightly meeting with her for the second time in a row. The Winx suite is already with Silva and Ben. They're waiting for us."
They leave the dorms using Stella's ring, which she has given to Dowling as a backup to her magic, which Rosalind is be able to track within school grounds. When they arrive to the location in the woods, Riven is only slightly surprised to find Sam among the girls. He's leaning on a tree, talking to Silva and his father, both of which look like they haven't slept for days. The girls are gathered together by a fallen tree. Musa is in the middle of them, huddled into herself, as Terra and a new girl with brown skin and long honey-brown hair rub her back. Stella, Bloom, and Aisha stand back, watching Musa with worry evident in their eyes.
It's Stella who notices them first. She wipes the worry off her face with mastered ease that only comes with practice, straightens up her back, shoots Musa a look and calls loudly, "There you are! Took you guys long enough!"
From then on, it’s a quick fill-in on what the plan is, an awkward introduction to the Harvey cousin whose name he can't remember because his mind was too stuck on the girl whose hair is back in those buns he managed to loosen yesterday, and a small little "welcome back to the good side" before they're trekking their way through the woods.
He stands behind her the whole time. Watches as she follows the professors, but stands at the tail end of the line the girls have formed. She looks tired, the bags under her eyes tell him that the girls have probably been out here all night. He wonders how much of her energy it took to tear and mend his brain, if anyone bothered to let her rest after she did it. He wishes he was braver, wishes he could walk up to her and… what, thank her? Ask her why she did it? Why kiss him and then cure him? She could have just as easily done it while he was asleep. He bides his time, observes as one by one the girls take turns standing next to her, linking their arms with hers, smiling down at her, whispering who knows what in her ear and earning a laugh form her every now and then. He likes her laugh, it's cute.
He's currently watching as Bloom pull Musa to her and makes some joke about chickens, when he feels a punch land on his right arm.
"Are you as stupid as you look?" He turns to find that Stella has somehow walked backwards and is now next to him.
"Missed you too, princess," he mutters back.
"Oh, cut the bullcrap, Riven. You've been staring at her for the last two hours and I told her I wouldn't say anything but honestly, you two are hopeless. I've never met two people so oblivious in my life."
"I don’t know what you're talking about." he starts.
"Like shit you don't. If you don't know it yet, figure it out." And just like that she's running ahead and linking her right arm with Musa's as Bloom tries for another joke, this one about pigs that fly.
He tries to ignore Stella's stupid comment. Honestly, he figures it's probably safer to stare at her and look like a total creep than try to talk to her and make sense of his feeling about who the fuck knows what anymore. But Stella's words ring through his mind and he lets himself believe that maybe, just maybe…
In the end, he convinces himself that the reason he walks up to her once Bloom goes to hold Sky's hand and Stella moves in on the new girl to make conversation is because Stella offered him a challenge, and he likes to win at those. (He's heading straight for a loss, he's fully aware of that, but whatever.)
"Long time no see," he jokes when he reaches her side. She cranes her neck up at him, not surprised to see him.
"Thought I heard your loud-ass emotions coming closer."
"Yeah, I've been told they can be quite the riot." He shoots her a smirk and she smiles up at him.
"Who told you that?"
"Oh, you know. Just some girl."
"Some girl, huh?"
"Yeah. Then she gave me a good snogging before tearing my brain to pieces without my knowing it."
"Mmm. She seems like a handful."
"Tell me about it." Her eyes fall downward and he doesn't need to be an empath to see the gears turning in her head.
"I'm sorry," she starts, "About that. I didn't want to do it, I know you have me reading your emotions."
"Yeah, but I hated having them controlled by someone else even more…" There's a pause and he quickly moves to fill it, scared that whatever courage juice that's coursing through his veins will run out soon. "Thank you, by the way." And he means it. He hopes she can sense the sincerity coming from him because he only has so many words in his vocabulary when it comes to her and fears he's already run out of them when she turns to look at him once more.
They've fallen behind the group at this point. He figures he won't get the chance to do this again for a while, so he asks her the question that been running rampant through his mind. It's pathetic, really. They're headed to god knows where to do god knows what and instead of worrying about the fact that war is coming or even being slightly concerned that he's just had his mind abused and prodded around by an evil mastermind, his biggest worry is if this girl really wanted to kiss him or if she just did it for show.
"So, umm, just so we're clear… did you mean it?" If he felt dumb thinking it, he feels like a world-class idiot saying it out loud.
"Mean what?" She stares back at him intensely, and he thinks to himself in an amused manner that they seem to be making a habit of staring at each other for longer than average periods of time. "The part about you being loud? Cuz, yeah, I meant every word. You're a walking catastrophe." She's smirking at him. He rolls his eyes her words.
"Couldn't care less about that. In fact, I'm glad my emotions are as obnoxious as I am- means they've been driving you crazy for a while now." Her smile falters a bit at that line. "What I want to know," he continues. "Is if you kiss everyone whose mind you go digging into like that." He still has not taken his eyes off her, and he's not going to start now, when she blushes and ducks her head under the collar of her red bomber jacket.
"That was a… last minute choice."
"What for?"
"I had to get close enough to you to make contact. I've only been practicing with Dowling for a few weeks and I didn’t want to screw it up. I can't really do the whole mind thing without some sort of contact just yet…" Her words drift off.
"Hand holding didn't cut it? Had to go for a full make-out session, complete with lip biting and everything?" He watches as she shivers into her coat, arms wrapped around herself.
"You would've pushed me away."
"How did you know I wouldn't push you away while kissing me?" She mutters something under her breath. He doesn’t catch it, not between that stupid jacket that she's using to shield her face. He gently takes a step forward, catches her chin between his fingers just as he had done the night before, makes her meet his eyes. "Come again?"
She sucks in a breath, her eyes waver to something behind him when she finally lets it out, "We both know you weren't going to say no to me throwing myself at you."
"And if I did?" He doesn't know who he's kidding, but it’s still a game and he's still playing to… lose?
She's still staring behind him when she frowns and says, "Then we would have seen just how great this shirt would have looked on your bedroom floor, after all."
And goddamn it, her words send his blood boiling. He's about to kiss her senseless, but he refuses to do it if she's not staring at him when he asks one last question.
With his finger still hooked under her chin and them standing mere inches away, he whispered into the air between them, "Look at me, Musa."
Her eyes slowly move to meet his. He gives up his last question, which just so happens to be his first, "Did you mean it?" And when her small "Yes" makes its way through her lips as her steady brown eyes catch his green ones, that's all the confirmation he needs.
His finger leaves her chin and moves to her head and then he's pulling her in, closer and closer and closer until she's all he can feel and smell and see and breathe. And she responds with the same vigor she used last night, wasting no time to wrap her arms around his neck and lock him to her. It's a new kind of game, one where they battle for dominance until they both run out of breath and need to break free. It makes him stronger, it breaks him down, it makes him wonder why the hell he ever wanted to win against her when he could instead let her win and lose himself to her as he is right now. And when his hands pull the pins from both buns from her hair as he kisses down her neck, she groans in half pleasure and half annoyance.
"I'll have to fix them again now," she whines, pouting her bottom lip out, which he takes as an invitation to bite and pull on it.
"You'll manage. Let me just have this now. I've been waiting a while to see you with your hair fully down." She scoffs but lets him stare at her in awe once he finds it in him to pull back from her lips in order to get a view his handiwork.
And to think, it all started with some fucking pigtails.

"snowflake the fairy and her boyfriend BRAD" capes no
Fuck you, this is an invitation and since you asked for it on anon everyone else has to suffer through it too.
Learn about Snowflake and her mystical boyfriend Brad below the cut.
I'm going to give you some background, and by that I mean, I'm going to humiliate myself awfully beforehand: When I was a kid, I freaking loved the Winx club and I would wake up at six am on Saturdays to watch it. Since Winx club began to air with I was eight years old and took a long hiatus in America around the time I turned ten/eleven and my parents also coincidentally had a bunch of computers laying around for me to play around and type on since my dad worked for IBM-- it's safe to assume that I spent nearly every free moment of those three years thinking about this cursed concept and plotting these awful books.
So like, the Winx club was aired on PBS in the midwestern market at an ungodly hour since they also served the east coast, and I would literally go to sleep the second the sun went down to watch it. I was kind of a weird kid, so I always pretended that I was tuning a tv to turn to my favorite channel before bed and so forth, then I'd have these dreams that I was pretty in control of.
And again.
I was obsessed with Winx.
So, obviously, I had these dumb dreams about winx fairies and all of that, but the show wasn't going exactly how I wanted it after like a season (thanks freaking RIVEN) so I drifted away from that and started dreaming about, writing about, and obsessing about my own rip off winx.
Enter, Snowflake. Red hair, blue eyes. Fire powers, even though her name was Snowflake. A clear rip-off of Bloom, but like picture more dresses and she's a fairy who lives in a fucking igloo.
Snowflake started out clearly interested in two men who, I shit you not, were named Brad and Joey. Brad had blonde hair and blue eyes, he was a rip-off of bloom's boyfriend but shirtless 90% of the time and fucking useless. Joey broke my heart. Joey was a rip-off of good old Riven, the love of my young life, only add a cool, tough tattoo on his arm that was a literal knife with the word 'hurt' underneath it.
Snowflake started out as a princess who went to a boarding school, but eventually, I realized that I didn't need the rest of those bitches around (by that I mean literally all of the other students). So Snowflake was a princess who hung out in her kingdom and had like three friends who were decidedly beneath her; Stacey, Edna, and Kay. Kay was Joey's twin sister. They were basically yes girls with one note personalities, save for Kay, who was like Snowflake's best friend and had light powers that were totally ripped off of the Dazzler and useless 90% of the time.
The meat of the story is that there was this older fairy who wanted to melt Snowflake's home and flood the world. She was named Carly because, surprise, I was bullied by a girl named Carly. Carly (in the story) bit people, but like, not as a vampire thing, she just like ate them? You didn't die or even bleed, and the part would grow back, I think I just thought that cannibalism was a pretty mean thing to do.
And also Carly wanted to abduct Snowflake to make her melt the world because Snowflake was basically a glorified lighter.
This all sounds twice as stupid when I write it out.
Anyway, so Snowflake's main boo was Brad, since Joey would have random fits and decide to be evil every once in a while and that was 'annoying'. The problem with Brad, however, was that he was a classic himbo and always got captured and had to be saved from the evil lair (an apartment inside a literal volcano) -- They always caught Brad because, I have no idea why, the idiot of the year was always hanging out in a hot tub and I'm pretty sure that's because that was the only way that my little brain could comprehend him being shirtless all the time as I needed him to be.
But eventually, like the eighth time Snowflake came to rescue him, Brad died. Like, Snowflake saw him across the clearing and this villain literally pushed a fucking boulder on him. I outlined in word and printed out on one of the five pieces of paper my parents would let me have every day (To keep my sister and I from stealing and printing on a whole ream) that this man literally had a boulder rolled on him. Like, Carly climbed up the stairs, went to a ledge, and had the fucking time to roll a boulder on him while Snowflake was talking.
And her spirits were crushed almost as flat as Brad was.
So like Snowflake decided to go out with Joey who was like, "have you ever considered being evil idk it's occasionally fun" and became evil and melted the world? Listen, trauma can change a girl.
Then she became a mermaid and brought her friends back as merzombies
But she wasn't happy, even though she could now wear black and cut her hair? Also Joey kissed with tongue and Brad didn't, so that should have been a major plus.
I really think it was just because Joey wore a shirt all the time, but who knows.
Snowflake's dead parents who died off-screen sometime showed up as ghosts and told her that she could do anything with the power of love. She asked them to stay, AND THEN THEY LITERALLY SAID SOMETHING LIKE, "sorry, we can't be here with you, you can do anything with the power of love, but we're not in love with you, DAUGHTER."
So
UNDERWATER
Snowflake cried on Brad's FLAT body and the tears somehow touched it and he was brought back to life and then immediately started to drown because I had a baseline understanding of biology, and by that I mean I understood that people did not breathe water.
Brad dying a second time in front of her made her powers explode
so, somehow, she unlocked all the powers of the HTRAE (THAT'S THE WHOLE UNIVERSE'S NAME, NOT THE PLANET. It's Earth backwards, because technically the planet is just inside earth-- Listen I can't explain this shit very well) and froze her kingdom again
and then suddenly like, controlled all the elements. Like bam, she is nature, bitch. This includes metal. No idea why. Just elements plus metal, which again, not an actual element there.
But it couldn't be over, because I'm from the midwest and my grandma is the head of the church commitee. Ten year old Beth knows how love and romance work, okay, she knows how to craft a fucking story and where to end it.
so I was like I guess her and BRAD get married. And then Joey came back to fight for her hand and he won, but Snowflake didn't love him so she froze him? EVEN THOUGH SHE LIKED HIS TONGUE KISSES.
SHE CRIED BECAUSE OF THE TONGUE KISSES I SWEAR.
And then her and Brad literally got onto a horse to ride into the sunset and made out-- With tongue.
and that's just like a really brief summary of my actual hundreds of printed pages (10 pt font) of nonsensical plot that was going to make up the Snowflake Series, and as an eleven year old I was convinced that this would sell for millions of dollars and everyone would be so impressed that they'd carve, 'Creator of Snowflake', into my tombstone.

Winx Club Season 7 Thoughts Part 1
I am kinda anxious starting this season because it is the only one I have seen nothing from. I have heard plenty about it, however, and none of it was good. Combine that with the unpleasant experience that season 6 was and I am not too thrilled but at least I will have watched everything once I have this out of the way so here I go for it.
I have to say that the intro isn’t too impressive.
7x01:
- Told you Stella has the stamina for a marathon if she has the right incentive. Why are they at Alfea again, though? And acting like they’re freshmen again? Not to mention that they have sneaked into the school more successfully when they had a lot less power.
- Jeez, I thought Griselda caught them but it was a monster... A fairy animal. K, Faragonda taking care of it was kinda cute but why don’t they know about the Nature Park? And why is Faragonda being so stern? It’s more than we have seen from her for a very mild offense (by Winx’ standards).
- Ugh, Stella with the fashion again. And why is there such a rift between her and the other girls? This is getting annoying already. Not to mention that Bloom’s voice sounds like Stella’s from the previous seasons.
- Kiko can never catch a break, huh? Especially when there are other animals/pixies/selkies/etc around.
- I thought that the barrier was only letting through those pure of heart or something like that. It probably would have been better considering that our villain will have fairy magic (I know something about this). What stops the animals from running away, though? And since when is Faragonda so into animals? She said she created the park but we have never seen her actually take care of animals or anything.
- A digmole? Wasn’t there something like that in Pokemon?
- Dammit! I was just excited to see what happens when a fairy animal attacks another fairy animal and they were like “That doesn’t happen.” Oh, I guess fairy animals are too good to have actual animal instincts or anything. I want to see a carnivore fairy animal that eats other fairy animals and I want to see how they deal with it. That is just a normal thing. And it would have been more interesting. And Roxy is acting like an animal attacking another animal is the worst thing ever. I have some bad news for you, hon.
- They really lost against a bird? And does this episode plan on introducing the villain of the season? There has been zero plot so far.
- Oh, villains! At last. I thought they were going to eat the digmole but nope. Kalshara is somehow planning on turning them into an army. Brainwashing them I guess? Brafilius is already annoying and it has been one scene. This is off to a good start.
7x02:
- The secret of the Ultimate Fairy Power is entrusted to the digmoles????? And why does she want an army of fairy animals? Could’ve picked anything but sis is just over here looking at the cute animals and going “Yep, a fearsome army that does make!” I mean, turning cute animals super evil has so much potential but I would not trust this show to even consider it, much less do it.
- Brafilius is already annoying as fuck. At least the previous villains were somewhat competent but this? He’s a clown! Kiko could beat him! What the hell were they thinking? At least Kalshara turning into the cat thing was super awesome! I really loved it.
- “It’s not like we can go back in time...” And you know they’re gonna go back in time. That sentence just screams it.
- Why would the Stone of Memories send them back in time? And why has no one tried to steal it? You could fuck so much shit up with that! Also, why did they think they could pull off time travel? Much better writers have tried and haven’t managed without creating as many paradoxes as possible. This show was a goddamn mess even before that. Besides, in season 3 there was a room in Alfea that could access any place in the past, present or future. They should have just used that but then there would have been no Butterflix transformation and shit.
- “Little time machines”? So now there are more stones? Also, they are changing the goddamn past by even being there! They are going to meet people that couldn’t have met them in the normal time line and that will change things in one way or another. This is incredible bullshit and they haven’t even stepped into the past yet.
- Great going. Just jump in the past (they don’t even know how many years back they went) without changing clothes or anything. They could give life to new words and slang before their time. Besides, Stella has her fashion thing so it would have been cool if she’d figured out what was appropriate for the time period and changed their clothes. That would have been a great usage of her fashion obsession but it never comes up when it would be actually relevant and useful.
- The crest proves that they are at Alfea? Not like, I don’t know, the entire goddamn campus? And how is walking into the main gate “not attracting attention”? This is stupid as hell.
- Why is Griselda acting like a principal even as she’s a student still?
- Oh, so now we get a change of clothes. But how will they blend in when everyone else is wearing the exact same uniform and they are just there in their specific colors? Even the clothes aren’t the ones from the uniform. And now Roxy totally looks like a Bloom clone.
- Of course, Faragonda is a major klutz just like Bloom was when she first arrived at Alfea. And, of course, Bloom can sense it’s something familiar.
- How did they get to the exhibition before Faragonda? And poor thing, she doesn’t seem to be a favorite of Headmistress Mavilla. Actually, Mavilla sounds a lot like Griselda and she seems to trust her so why didn’t she make Griselda Headmistress? Or was it not her choice?
- Of course, Roxy, the literal fairy of animals, has no idea that the animals can do all those things, much less how to make them do the things. Amazing.
- My god, Faragonda is such a dumbass! She is brave but I think she is trailing the line between brave and stupid a little bit too clumsily. How did she not die? For real? I mean, this is the thing here - in the original time line, Winx weren’t there to save her. So how did she not die during this reckless adventure she threw herself in?
- Well, at least they finally started doing something. I know they are allegedly trying to be undercover (Mavilla is shit as headmistress if she didn’t notice there were outsiders on her show in her very own fucking yard!) but they should have tried helping even sooner.
- Young Faragonda looks so much like Flora. I swear they just slapped Flora’s design on the screen, touched it up a little and thought it was good to go.
- Oh, that other fairy that just showed up is Kalshara, isn’t it?
- Why are they in the Headmistress’ office if they’re trying to stay undercover? Also, I already don’t like Mavilla. She seems like such a snob.
7x03:
- Why the hell are Winx in class? They shouldn’t be there. But, of course, we can’t have a scene without Winx in it.
- Damn, Kalshara’s metamorphoses are just on point. But her attitude is legit that of a witch and I am kinda surprised no one has caught on to that. Though, on the other hand, all of the teachers seem so hellbent on the students’ performances instead of on actually teaching them learn how to do things. Under Faragonda’s management, the school seems much more relaxed and friendly.
- Omg, Faragonda really took the book. She is such an idiot! Also, she should definitely ease it on criticizing her students after the shit she herself pulled. She legit stole the book AND miniaturized Mavilla’s fairy animals? What the hell Faragonda? Did you have any brain cells when you were young?!?!?! I can only explain this with her growing up as a witch and not realizing that what she did was not okay.
- Oh, Bloom actually figured out that Kalshara can’t be trusted 30-40 years into the past? She could have turned evil after that! She could have had a daughter that could do the same magic. This deduction does not make sense.
- Wow, they really did drop in the correct moment, right before Kalshara got her weird transformation. And Faragonda is so responsible for what is happening. Nice one!
- So Kalshara forced a metamorphosis on her brother and is now using him as her servant? I feel bad for him now. Even if he is incompetent and annoying. It is her own damn fault that she forced him to remain with her.
- Why do the digmoles look pink now? They weren’t pink before.
- Lmao, Faragonda turned Kalshara into a kitten. That was just... kinda dumb, really, but anyway.
- Love how Roxy didn’t get the Butterflix transformation even though she did all the same things that Winx did. The bullshit is real. Also, the Butterflix transformation sequence is so unnecessary. I wanted to watch all of it like I do every time it is the gaining of a new transformation but it just annoyed me too much so I skipped it.
- Wait, if she erases their memories, no one will remember that Brafilius and Kalshara escaped and someone needs to take care of them. I mean, if someone had taken care of them in the past, none of this would have been happening. Why is everyone stupid?
7x04:
- The digmoles dug up Faragonda’s office? Wow, okay. But why is she being like that with Stella? Though, I guess she wouldn’t remember her own fuck-ups if they were erased from her memory. But wait, in order for Mavilla to erase the fairy animals from their minds, she must have erased all their education at Alfea as well. What the hell? None of this makes sense.
- Yeah, no one has seen the statue before. And Faragonda could have helped them figure out what they changed by telling them what was up with the statue but nah. She doesn’t seem worried that they changed the past even if she warned them to try to avoid exactly that. This season is already exhausting as hell.
- WHAT are they wearing? Gorgeous, my ass. At least all their boyfriends are good liars.
- They aren’t even gonna elaborate the Nex and Layla thing? Like, they didn’t exactly officially get together in the end of season 6. And he is still an asshole so why is Layla even with him? He’s making digs at her friends and she isn’t even noticing?
- “This mission is for girls”? Wtf?!?!?!
- Oh, god, they really stole at least some of the fairy animal designs from Pokemon, didn’t they?
- Wait, how will they know they have found the animal with the first color when they have no idea what the first color is?
- Wait, Roxy knows that the digmole was kidnapped and instead of wanting to protect it, she’s all “it can take care of itself”? What the fuck? Also, Nex keeps being an asshole and why is Helia starting to act like him as well?
- I thought fairy animals didn’t attack each other? Why are those two fighting and mocking each other? *sigh*
- Great! So the digmole went with Roxy despite everything and she managed to get it kidnapped again as well as lose her Stone.
- Why the hell is the recap for the next episode the exact same as the one that was in the end of 7x03?
7x05:
- Roxy, it can always get worse than that. At least the others aren’t mad at her.
- Man, why is Brafilius doing more work than Kalshara when she is the more competent one? It would have been easier for her to get the job done but she is a lazy fuck and that will get her defeated in the end.
- So Roxy can’t travel without her stone and one stone can only take one person? I guess that’s why they use those chairs in the teleportation sequence. I just don’t understand why they didn’t use the link between the Stones to figure out where Brafilius is instead of needing Roxy to tell them where he’s going.
- WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY WEARING?!?!?!?! Stella, I think you have not grasped the concept of camouflage well. This thing is gonna get you killed if you need to run or do anything, really, instead of just stand around. No one loves it, Stella. No one!
- Are you kidding me? The costumes are actually working?! And I have to say that they would have had their wings pierced if they’d transformed so the costumes actually saved them. I can’t believe it. It is just too stupid but it happened.
- Why is that dinosaur acting like a dog? And why are they so relaxed about it? If the mother finds them, they may not live to see another minute if she thinks they’re a threat.
- A fun game? This is not a dog, goddammit!
- That dinosaur is literally a T-rex and they are making it act like a dog. What the actual hell? Also, wtf was that with the other animal that almost drowned them in a river of tears. Where did the writers get their inspiration for this season? Also, I kinda have a feeling that that is the animal they are looking for because, boy, does it not blend in.
- A giant spider again? We’ve already done that! In the same show! Not to mention that the giant spiders have been so overdone in media in general! But twice in the same show? Come on!
- Oh, Butterflix has special powers as well? Of course, it does.
- Oh, come on! Bloom’s hands were practically free at first and she has fire! She could have freed herself!
- Why is this animal in the colors of Layla’s outfit? And did she just bond with it? Omg, she did. Wtf? Are these animals gonna be relevant again? Oh, wait, it’s coming to the present too. Not like it will die lonely without its species. Why not tear it away from its natural habitat? Makes total sense.
- Ugh, I am gagging over Nex’s “flirting” and “romanticism”. At least Squank (is that how you write this? I honestly don’t care enough to look it up) kiss-blocked him and that was the one good thing in this episode. Why does Layla even look at him? He is so obviously a jerk!
7x06:
- Oh, Kiko AND pixies AND the fairy animals? Oh, goodie! And why tf are the Winx in class? What more is there to learn?! They can do everything, except defeat a damn spider.
- I am surprised the pixies didn’t drown. But at least everyone is being patient except Cherie. Why are Layla’s bonded creatures such crybabies?
- They are learning metamorphoses now? Really? How convenient.
- Why is everyone being an asshole to everyone? Wizgiz is terrible to everyone. He was allegedly very concerned about the fairy animals but now he is mad. Bloom is being an asshole to Locket even though it is not the pixies’ job to take care of their pets. I just can’t take this anymore.
- Wow, Layla figured out that the pixie thing was not a good idea? I am impressed. Why don’t they just leave Squank in the park? They can’t keep it on campus with how easily it is upset and causes trouble.
- Why is Roxy not going? It’s not like they’re headed for the past. She could go.
- Why did she say “my parents live there” instead of “this is my home”? At least we’re seeing Flora’s parents. And her father is such a dork. It is refreshing after all the fathers being so serious and composed. But her mother is such a peaceful disaster. I don’t know how she does it. At least the plants were kinda cool.
- Hello, Miele. So they just forgot that we already know about her being a fairy and going to school and then they show a flashback of it? It’s like Bloom doesn’t remember the flashback and Flora does? Wtf?!
- “Do you know where we are?” “In the middle of the forest.” Somehow, that is not reassuring or specific enough.
- Not like they’re hurting the giant fungi or something. This episode kinda reminds me of the evil willow in season 1, except that one was interesting.
- So Butterflix works only on non-nature? Well, I have bad news for you. Most of what you’re constantly surrounded by is nature!
- Why are the fungi stripping them of their transformation? How the hell? You know what? Whatever.
- Oh, damn. Even Flora got trapped. This is starting to get a little interesting. Not that they won’t be saved somehow - probably by Miele who sneaked after them - but I am starting to feel a little tension. I can’t believe it.
7x07:
- Didn’t she have to find the place where the fungi originated? Miele is just sprinkling them wherever and it’s working. Because, of course, it is!
- Flora, you would have died if Miele hadn’t saved you! And you have pulled so much shit over the years. You really don’t have the right to criticize her. At least she let her go with them.
- They’ve already ridden the ladybugs back in season 3. But that’s too far back for the writers to remember even if they brought back the ladybugs.
- They already fought the fungi. But can’t they use their energy to give nature energy so that it can fight the fungi that they can’t with their powers? Yup, that’s what they’re doing.
- Yeah, I think the glowing eyes suggest that something is happening.
- They are finally using their powers in a more interesting way! I cannot believe it. But isn’t Flora gonna bond with the magiwolf?
- Flora’s special spell looks both pretty cool and powerful. I just love me some glowy magical auras!
- Did they bond? They did, right? But why didn’t Flora hear him speak like Layla did with her fairy animal? Anyway, I love it! It is so adorable! And very mischievous. Do they really think that taking it to Alfea is a good idea? They do need to learn how to take care of their fairy animals and keep them in check instead of threatening to destroy the whole school.
- Flora, Flora, Flora. Smh. It can always get worse! At least they figured out that the pixies can’t get the job done. Winx can’t get the job done, let alone the pixies.
7x08:
- At least they are spending time with their fairy animals. But I am not a fan of them being so pushy, and especially Flora. She has always been so patient with plants but she is being so insensitive to Amarok. He’s a magiwolf! He’s not used to living in a fucking dorm!
- Man, Nex is such a damn asshole! At least this time Layla actually said something even if it was not nearly as much as it should have been. (She should just dump him tbh.) I just wish Helia hadn’t been dragged into the mess as well.
- Why is Flora mad at Helia? He hasn’t done anything wrong. He is even helping keep Amarok occupied in a more peaceful and orderly manner. One again, why is everyone being an asshole to everyone else?
- That cat is so fucking adorable! I want one! Who has a stone that can teleport me in the Winx universe so that I can get a kitty?
- “Cheeky losers”? Yeah, they totes talked like that in the Middle Ages. What the hell? Did no one figure out that they are going to have to make the medieval people speak in a period-correct manner? Apparently not.
- That kitty looks like a dangerous little beast. I am rethinking my desire for one.
- If they wanna stop the guards/soldiers/whatever without hurting them, why not just use some morphix? That can solve their problems.
- Why are people afraid of the fairies? What the fuck are the Earth fairies doing at this precise moment? They should be around at this point/still.
- It would have been so interesting to see what would have happened if Barfilius had been unable to get back to the teleportation chair and had been stuck between different times. And he could have hitchhiked with Winx when they were coming back or something. At least there would have been a point to his incompetence.
- What the fuck is this Rainbow Company and why the fuck did the writers think it was a good idea to include them? Wait, did Rainbow just drop their own company’s self-inserts?
- Those clothes I dig! I am not entirely sure how accurate for the time they are but I like the way they look.
- Well, they’re acting in a medieval play now. I have run out of “what the hell”s to give.
7x09:
- I am honestly not a fan of Musa falling for the valiant medieval musician. What is she gonna do? Take him with her like they’re doing with the animals?
- So the kitty is cute again and I want one again (even though it seems to be only one).
- I don’t think Kalshara particularly cares about Brafillius but it’s cute that he thinks she does. Especially since he has been shown to be scared of her.
- What the hell are those creatures that Brafilius summoned? That does not look like native Earth species. And poor donkey also.
- Did Musa just get caught because she was being distracted by a boy? Yeah, she really needs to get her shit together after Riven.
- Don’t tell me Orlando will fight Brafilius with music!
- Yeah, Musa definitely looks like she is handling this.
- They’re really being pretty useless in this season and having to get nature to do their job for them. And how convenient that they got the Butterflix transformation by barely doing anything for it (Mavilla was even shocked and said it was impossible).
- Wtf, did Musa just summon water drops? But the visuals of her special spell were so damn cool! THAT was actually pretty creative.
- She bonded with the cat, I knew it! It was pretty obvious that that was gonna happen.
- They are really finishing the play? *sigh*
- Did Musa just disappear in front of the entire crowd? Talk about a poor decision. They just stopped freaking out over the magic.
7x10:
- Yeah, Brafilius couldn’t even try to figure out if the cat has the First Color but why haven’t Winx tried? They have the perfect opportunity now that the cat is bonded to Musa. (And boy, what a snobby cat. I can see how it can look like Musa when she starts pouting.)
- Okay, Nex actually trying this time and taking to Squank was kinda cute, ngl. If he keeps being like that, he can stay.
- Helia really do be competing in origami with a cat... And getting destroyed... Quite literally.
- Why don’t Winx try to take care of their own damn animals! They are the ones that are bonded to the animals, yet they keep pawning them off on their boyfriends and then getting all sulky when something goes wrong. Well, the animals are primarily your responsibility so if you can tone the criticism the fuck down, that would be great.
- Omg, the bat metamorphosis! Kalshara has the best power!
- Now they wake up! Couldn’t pay attention to the racket sooner!
- They left KIKO in charge of these very massive, very wild animals? Wtf, he couldn’t even handle the pets in s4.
- Oh, the kitty can communicate? First origami, now this.
- Is that bird gonna be Stella’s animal? Yep, it will. But it’s spelled, right? Can the bond unspell it? That will be nice.
- Oof, Kalshara spelled the animals. And Winx’ powers aren’t supposed to work on them... right?
- Stella, it’s obviously spelled! You didn’t do anything wrong! Just use your brain instead of your anxious heart.
- Oh, she actually did! And they bonded! I think that was the cutest bond so far. But she named her bird Shiny? Okay, Stella.
- Stella’s special spell is pretty plain compared to those of Musa and Flora and even Layla.
- Oh, they fucked up Kalshara and Brafilius’ hideout. Finally. We’re gonna change locations at the very least. It gives the illusion of something happening.
7x11:
- Those tigers don’t look very fairy-animal-ly.
- Stella is really gonna make the animals wear clothes? Wow, they really outdid themselves this time and I don’t mean that in a good way.
- So... shiny eats gems? Interesting.
- At this point I’ll take Bloom x Sky over the fairy animals nonsense.
- Lmao @ Squank scaring Critty out of her mind. But poor Brandon with Shiny. I’m afraid she might eat him as well if she manages to get close enough to “kiss” him.
- What the hell, Stella? Here’s a simple equation for you - dying = no more fashion!
- Come on, Stella! You’ve faced so many monsters over the years? Why are you scared now?
- Okay, that’s definitely magical and definitely dark. But they have faced worse things.
- Poor baby tigers! But why don’t Winx just use their nature powers?
- Finally! And Nex was actually being useful this time. Plus, look at those super cute tiger cubs! Precious little balls of fur!
- Soooo... why are half of Winx handling this and the other half aren’t? There is legit zero reason for that. And Stella’s special spell can reverse the effect of the wild magic? Why the hell didn’t she use that back on Linphea... Oh, wait. That’s right. Their powers were taken by the fungi. Okay, this checks out for once. Surprisingly, I am also amazed that I remember as far as 5-6 episodes back. I wouldn’t have guessed it.
- Okay, yeah, the tiger cubs are so cute that they could turn a person good indeed. But, please, don’t take them to Gardenia!
- Oh, my god! What the fuck are tigers gonna do in Gardenia?! They could have found them a safe place with people who know how to take care of them in their native country! That would have been a better idea.
7x12:
- Roxy is “borrowing” the fairy animals? Tell me she’ll get her own!
- What the hell happened? And how does such a small bird knock out such a big wolf?
- My god, Flora is really getting on my nerves this season by scolding Amarok so much. Shut up, Flora! You’ve had your klutz moments too! And you are the one that took a magiwolf out of the damn forest and are trying to make it live in a dorm!
- Are you telling me that there are only, like, 7-8 planets? Because that is how much globes they have there and they seem to imply that they have covered the whole universe in their monitoring of the fairy animals.
- Are we going to see Tecna’s parents again? I am so excited! Oh, and they had Timmy over without even telling Tecna? That is actually kinda adorable! It means that they are really getting along with him!
- Where did Brafilius go? Back in time but when exactly? At the creation of techno magic? Don’t tell me he’s gonna fuck it up completely? Yep, he did!
- Tbh I expected more chaos. I guess only the droids are techno magic and the rest is just plain technology. Oh, and the cars are freaking out.
- Well, Brafilius is trapped now. If they don’t fuck up, they can have him arrested.
- Tecna is sure getting poetic for someone that is so technical. Her magic is always so damn awesome, though! How have I not noticed before this rewatch?
- Dammit, they’re gonna miss Brafilius again!
7x13:
- Oh, goody. Only Bloom hasn’t gotten her fairy animal... Aaaaaand it just showed up! I mean, this unicorn’s hair is legit made of flames! It is obviously gonna be her animal. She even said she always wanted a unicorn (just like any girl ever) in season 4.
- Who’s working in the rescue park when Winx are running around in the past?
- The pixies just really caused a mini storm? And how is holding on to each other while floating aimlessly in the air “taking cover”?
- Why are they on Earth again? How come they met 1/3 of the fairy animals on Earth?
- Even the pandas aren’t cute enough to make me care for this episode when it is so fucking useless. Half of it is done and nothing has happened. And real life pandas are actually cuter. Sorrynotsorry.
- Wait, what? Is all the bamboo... a simulation? Wtf happened there?
- Oh, thought the unicorn was trying to make the into shredded cheese but it just trapped them instead? Boooooooring.
- It’s wild magic, we know! It was obvious. Except Stella is trapped and she can’t unspell it with her special spell.
- How convenient that her fire powers are working on a unicorn that was shooting fire blasts out of its horn. You know, totes like a dragon. Of course, Bloom just managed to unspell it even though that should be Stella’s specialty.
- Not a song! Oh, thank god, it didn’t last long.
- Don’t tell me that the unicorn has healing powers... Well, of course it does! And it can also speak to all of them even though the other animals can only speak to their bonded fairy. Right.
- Oh, come on! If the unicorn could counteract the wild magic, why did it even get changed by it?! The “cure” was right there in its body!
- Well, this emotional resolution ain’t shit.
I did do part 2 here despite my reluctance (but hey, it wasn’t that bad).

Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia Watch Episode 15 Mudslinging
Tumblr media
“The term "mudslinging" means to direct unjust insults and accusations with the intention of damaging the reputation of an opponent” Ah, so it’s what Donald Trump does everyday.
Tumblr media
Hey, isn’t this the place in the opening where Jim and the others were standing and posing all badass and Claire jumps on that crystal like she’s Super Mario? Or like she jumped J- Never mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Gunmar the Vicious”
Tumblr media
“Gunmar the Skullcrusher”
Tumblr media
“Gunmar!” Couldn’t they make a silhouette of Gunmar instead of showing part of his face?”
Tumblr media
“Ow!” Bedhead Jim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mood.
Tumblr media
“Give me an A!’ “A!”
Tumblr media
“Give me an R!” “R!”
Tumblr media
“Give me a C!” “C!”
Tumblr media
“This is taking way too long”
Tumblr media
“Give me an adia!” “Eh”
Tumblr media
“What’s that spell?”
Tumblr media
That spells Arc-adia.
Tumblr media
“And his eye is glowing”
Tumblr media
“And then, the dream just keeps reminding me that i’m completely way out of my league”
Tumblr media
“Right?”
Tumblr media
“Tobes”
Tumblr media
“Who is that masked mole? You ever wonder?”
Tumblr media
“You didn’t hear a word i said just then, did you?”
Tumblr media
“Sure, i did”
Tumblr media
“You had no problems sneaking into the Darklands when it was to save Claire’s brother, but now that Kanjigar says you’ve got to face Gunmar, you’re having nightmares about him and are freaking out that’ you’re way out of your league”
Tumblr media
“I can multi-task, Jimbo” I can multi-task too. I can multi-task between ships.
Tumblr media
“It’s Bill Erinstein“
Tumblr media
“Bill moved to Wisconsin. This is someone else’s artistry”
Tumblr media
“Someone with feminine wiles”
Tumblr media
“What? What feminine wiles?”
Tumblr media
“How do you even know that it’s a girl under there?”
Tumblr media
“Uh, trust me, dude. I know woman, and that is all woman under there”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toby is a furry confirm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Get someone, who would look lovingly at you from across the stands like they’re Marinette and Adrien, like how Jim and Claire look lovingly at each other from across the stands like they’re Marinette and Adrien.
Tumblr media
“Eli Pepperjack!”
Tumblr media
“I have friends!” “No you don’t!” Then why is he a nominee if doesn’t have friends?
Tumblr media
“Now that the play’s over, you can focus on your training full time”
Tumblr media
“And finally, Jim Lake Junior!”
Tumblr media
“What?” Because we need to replace the Romeo and Juliet sub plot with something to make everything harder for you.
Tumblr media
“Our nominees will compete in a series of challenges to win your vote”
Tumblr media
“Each nominee will propose a theme for the dance”
Tumblr media
“I like disco!”
Tumblr media
“I’ve got to boogie!”
Tumblr media
“That is all” And no one did disco.
Tumblr media
“Besides, there’s no way to kill Gunmar”
Tumblr media
“He’s invincible”
Tumblr media
“No, he’s not!”
Tumblr media
“So far as we know”
Tumblr media
“What do you know?” Okay, Mulan’s Ghost Family.
Tumblr media
“Jim”
Tumblr media
“Did you see my father?”
Tumblr media
“I did”
Tumblr media
“Did he speak of me?”
Tumblr media
“Yeah. He wished the Soothscryer could let you in”
Tumblr media
“But, you know, the rules are the rules”
Tumblr media
“It’s all right, Trollhunter”
Tumblr media
“You don’t have to lie to protect my feelings” *Cries in Troll*
Tumblr media
“How long’s he been like this?”
Tumblr media
“Long time”
Tumblr media
“Maybe you should switch to decaf” Can trolls drink coffee, and like it, like ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul?
Tumblr media
“This is the last surviving copy of his work!”
Tumblr media
“This is the key!”
Tumblr media
“And i’m going to burn”
Tumblr media
*Gasp in Troll*
Tumblr media
“Burn, baby, burn!” Yep, Blinky is the crazy one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was too quiet.
Tumblr media
“This village....”
Tumblr media
“It’s called Arcadia Oaks” “It’s on fire?” Well, it is in California.
Tumblr media
“In this town, there is a boy”
Tumblr media
“And this boy fancies a girl”
Tumblr media
“A girl whose brother is being held in the Darklands”
Tumblr media
“If the boy saves the child from the changeling nursery, he’ll want to save them all”
Tumblr media
“And it’s my job to watch over my half-breed brethren and not let that happen” And said half-breed brethren don’t care and payed the price for not caring.
Tumblr media
“But how could a fleshbag even contemplate such a feat?”
Tumblr media
“This boy is the Trollhunter”
Tumblr media
“It’s a long story. Just watch the first 13 episodes to be caught up”
Tumblr media
“You’re afraid of a fleshbag child”
Tumblr media
“I am not. He just shows up in my dreams as of late. Then again, his mother also shows up in my dreams too. Which is when he shows up”
Tumblr media
“I have my own fears” “Like what?” “I fear a girl taking my staff” “Why would you be afraid of a girl taking your staff? What could she do with it? And why a girl?”
Tumblr media
“I’m back, bitches”
Tumblr media
“Mom, could you-?”
Tumblr media
“Claire, could you change your baby brother’s diaper, please?”
Tumblr media
“He’s not a baby”
Tumblr media
“And he’s not my brother” Claire’s just about this close to tossing his ass out the window.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This isn’t fair”
Tumblr media
“It’s no day at the beach for me either, love bug”
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe i have to pretend you’re my brother”
Tumblr media
“It’s... It’s cruel”
Tumblr media
“What’s this? Don’t... Don’t do that, seriously. Please don’t cry”
Tumblr media
“Forget the jo-jos. Just a plain burger”
Tumblr media
“Enrique...”
Tumblr media
“I get it. You miss your brother”
Tumblr media
“But i assure you, he’s perfectly fine”
Tumblr media
“He’s trapped in the Darklands”
Tumblr media
”How can that be fine?”
Tumblr media
“I’ll show ya”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s gross. And Claire’s seen The Last Airbender and Dragon Ball Evolution and Netflix’s Winx Club and every live action remakes of Disney movies.
Tumblr media
“Your brother is what’s known as my familiar”
Tumblr media
“Changelings share a certain bond with them. It’s good for this little trick”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Enrique...”
Tumblr media
“Mi hermanito”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I suppose this arrangement has been rather hard on you”
Tumblr media
“I’m going to get you back”
Tumblr media
“I’m going to find you”
Tumblr media
“And i’ll bring you home”
Tumblr media
*Cries in Troll again*
Tumblr media
“Ah, Mr. Strickler” Wait, isn’t that- Oh, no.
Tumblr media
“I hear Coach Lawrence was having a tizzy of a time teaching my class”
Tumblr media
“Your class? Look, you can’t just drop off the face of the Earth and expect your job back”
Tumblr media
“Actually, it’s not my job i’m here for”
Tumblr media
“What is this?”
Tumblr media
“WH- AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!’ So, what happens when someone gets caught by the Antramonstrum? Is it messy?
Tumblr media
“And now, for my next trick...”
Tumblr media
“The vanishing sock!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Mm! Tasty trick” It disappeared in Aaarrrgghh’s mouth.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Mom. I’m home”
Tumblr media
“Where have you been?”
Tumblr media
“Just studying at the library with Claire and Tobes”
Tumblr media
“The library closed three hours ago. Where have you been?”
Tumblr media
“I don’t know, Mom. We took the long way home”
Tumblr media
“I have been worried sick, and that’s the best lie you can come up with?”
Tumblr media
“Okay, sorry! Call off the search parties!”
Tumblr media
“I’m obviously home!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part is really sad and painful to watch. And the fact we don’t go in the house to see, but instead, watch from the outside and see through the windows. That’s why there were scenes with Claire and NotEnrique, and with Toby and Aaarrrgghh. It showed how Toby and Aaarrrgghh are having fun with magic trick. While Claire and NotEnrique are starting to bond for real. But here? Jim and his mom? It shows how they are being torn apart cause of Jim’s secret.
Tumblr media
“Jim, this is what you’re wearing?”
Tumblr media
“I wear this every day, Tobes. What else would i be wearing?” See? Jim understands he’s in a cartoon, so he has to wear the same thing everyday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait you can that with the Shadow Staff? Damn Claire, you’ve been holding back.
Tumblr media
“Where am i supposed to find a costume?”
Tumblr media
“And what am i suppose to be?”
Tumblr media
“Ladybug? Chat Noir?”
Tumblr media
“Why do i care about this so much?” Mood.
Tumblr media
“Let’s take a blast to the past!”
Tumblr media
“Back to ancient times!”
Tumblr media
“The 1980s!” Just forget Ronald Reagan exists.
Tumblr media
“Okay, if you’re gonna play dirty-” Good one Jimbo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goal!
Tumblr media
“Oh, no! The costume!”
Tumblr media
Oooh. Right in the mud.
Tumblr media
“Okay, this is gonna work”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh, my gosh! It worked!” Is Toby secretly a wizard that we don’t know about?
Tumblr media
“Here to present his theme”
Tumblr media
“Mole Mania!”
Tumblr media
This is gonna be like that random girl from Drake and Josh that runs up to them giggling and runs off and Drake and Josh asks “Who is she?”
Tumblr media
“There has been a sudden departure”
Tumblr media
“I have heard word the Principal Levit has taken an indefinite leave of absence”
Tumblr media
“We wish him well” Yeah. “Well” in a fart cloud’s stomach.
Tumblr media
“But he sent an e-mail recommending an interim replacement”
Tumblr media
“Which we all support”
Tumblr media
“Please welcome Principal Strickler!”
Tumblr media
“Yeah! Whoo-hoo!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What is he doing here?”
Tumblr media
“I thought you said he would be a fool to ever come back”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’m very glad to be back and excited to get started”
Tumblr media
“But let it be known”
Tumblr media
“With me in charge, things are going to change. From here on out, teachers can date a students parent. So long as the parent is single” “Why that son of a-” “Steve! I’m going to be your new father!” “NO!”
Tumblr media
This episode was done dirty! Right i’ll show myself out.
Roaming Fees are the results of capitalism.

》Another chance 《
Author's note: I've recently started rewatching Winx club for some reason (mainly because I'm bored out of my mind) and season 3 has always been my favourite, but I've just recently rediscovered it and the chemistry between main protagonist and antagonist in the series aka Bloom and Valtor (some people call him Baltor but I've always called him Valtor and I'll continue to do so). So in honor of those two and the fact that there AREN'T ENOUGH works about them, I present you my take on that.
Pairing: Bloom x Valtor/Baltor aka Sparxshipping (Winx Club)
Warnings: some crude language.
Summary: Bloom didn't destroy Valtor at the end of season 3, instead she offered him a deal. Help and work with her and her friends or spend an eternity frozen in Omega dimension (if she doesn't kill him first).
Tumblr media
(The art is not mine, I've found it on google images)
"It was bold of you to come here for sure, but what did you think you were going to archive?"
She bravely locked eyes with him and leveled him with the fiercest glare he had ever seen on her. "I'm here to offer you a deal."
"A deal?" His tone was mocking. "What kind of deal?"
She stood tall and confident. "I want you to make a choice!"
"Between what?" His eyes narrowed.
"Helping me and staying alive and relatively free, or spending another eternity in Omega." Her gaze didn't flutter, she was dead serious.
His eyes widened comically and the only thing that came out of his mouth was, "Why?"
She shrugged. "I don't want to kill you."
Valtor always saw himself as a free man, despite the fact he was never free. The three witches were those that created him and they owned him. Weapon first, person second. And that had never been more apparent than that time when they turned him into a demon against his will. Fucking curse. And there was Bloom. Her and her pathetic friends somehow managed to free all the spells he had stolen over the course of few months. And he also hated to admit, Trix's betrayal hurt more than he had anticipated. And he was ready to face Bloom and destroy her on Andros, but somehow, fairy of the dragon flame, much like his own, convinced him to strike a deal.
Now Valtor would have liked to say he told her to go fuck herself and go out with a bang, but there was this slight problem. He's a coward, simple as that. He didn't want to die. He spent 17 years frozen in that ice block in Omega dimension, but he preferred that over being dead. She showed sympathy and he hated her for that. How come a daughter of his sworn enemies, people that were responsible for the said sentence in Omega, was able to somehow melt his frozen heart? She was everything he was not, but the difference that stung the most was that she was brave. Braver than Valtor has been and ever will be. She somehow managed to forgive him, despite the fact he was the reason her planet, her parents, her sister, her people were no more. He hated her for that.
But as she stood before him in her skimpy Enchantix outfit he found himself... moved by her care. She was smart, there was no denying that fact, and, he grumpily noted, she was beautiful. Long red hair, piercing blue eyes, long, slim legs... she was a vision. And that was the point Valtor really wanted to slap himself, but unfortunately he didn't think it would help his case if he suddenly appeared mentally unstable on top of everything else. So he bit his tongue and locked those thoughts in a remote part of his brain.
"And what would this 'help' consist of? Who exactly would I be helping?" His tone was suspicious and his eyes narrowed once again, giving him that fierce look he was known for.
The fairy of the dragon smirked, something he has never seen her do. It looked surprisingly evil on her. "I want to resurrect Domino." She said it with such a straight face, Valtor almost bursted out laughing. That was, however, until he caught the look in her eyes. My god, she was serious. She was fucking serious.
"You, ehem..." he cleared his throat, "you're serious." The surprise was obviously quite evident on his face and her smirk turned into a full blown grin, her pearly white, straight teeth on full display. "And you want MY help with that? The guy who was responsible for everything that happened?"
She lifted one perfectly shaped eyebrow and said, "I thought that would be a perfect way to redeem yourself."
He gawked at her. "You do realize that the witches still have me under their control, right?" Surely she couldn't be serious. If witches decided to mess with him again, he could go nuts and kill them all. And to be honest, he never wanted to kill any of them. He just wanted them out of his way.
"I have a solution for that as well." She looked so smug and Valtor wanted nothing else but to wipe that stupidly attractive look form her perfect face. He shook out of his trance when she spoke again. "Fairy dust." Two simple words, and yet they meant the world to Valtor. He could finally be free.
"Isn't you Enchantix incomplete? Isn't that way you were unable to shrink yourself in the Golden kingdom? " he saw her flinch. Probably because it was his fault her Enchantix powers weren't complete. "And who's fault is that?" Apparently she felt the need to remind him that herself.
He averted his gaze but he could still see her smirking in his peripheral vision, an obvious sign she wasn't angry. "I'm here aren't I? I'm the only one that is as strong as you, maybe even stronger. So I say we give it a shot." He leveled her with glare that could have made stone cry but it only seemed to amuse her even more. He watched her trying and falling to suppress her giggles and with a shake of his head, he said, "Careful princess, your ego is showing." She giggled even more. He sighed. "So basically, correct me if I'm wrong, you want me to be your guinea pig? Right?"
She smiled sympathetically. "Kind of..." He raised and eyebrow and her shoulders dropped. "Ok, yes. I kinda want you to be a guinea pig." He shook his head but smirked non the less. "Ok fine. Do what you think you have to." Her eyes widened and she grinned confidently. "Didn't expect me to say yes?" She shrugged. "To be honest, no, I wasn't expecting a yes."
"Here we go then." He turned his gaze back on her to see her doing a familiar formation with her fairy dust pendant and his eyes widened slightly in fear when she flew above him to sprinkle the dust onto him. He suddenly felt like he was burning inside out but at the same time he felt lighter than he ever felt in his life. The burn wasn't unpleasant at the beginning but as seconds passed, it was getting more and more uncomfortable. He almost got to the point where he wanted to scream, but at that moment the burning stopped and all his vision went black.
He woke up to the sound of different voices, some of which were concerned and the others were slightly accusatory and disbelieving. He opened his eyes and he slightly panicked when he only saw black, but quickly regained his bearings when he realized he was lying on the ground face first. He groaned and rolled over and the voices got quiet. He could hear a faint sizzling of warm, light magic, meaning it was probably coming from Stella, fairy of the sun and moon. "Bloom..." he managed through his raspy throat that felt like it had been washed with sand. He propped himself on his elbows and turned his gaze to the redheaded fairy. She was surrounded by her friends and the specialists and the message they were sending was clear, if wanted Bloom he'd have to go through them all. Too bad Valtor had no ill intentions anymore towards them, especially Bloom. He smirked and locked eyes with her. "...let's not do that again."
To be continued...

4Kids Korner - Season 2 - Episode 3
I'm a bit late this week because I got caught up with work and school-related dread, but now I'm back to bring you more 4Kids products! This week we have an epic trifepic: Winx Club Magazine Issue one - the castle, Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (DVDouble-Shot) and Kirby Right Back at Ya - Kirby Comes to Cappy Town!
Let's start by getting the smallest one out of the way. Here's Kirby Right Back at Ya - Ice Kirby (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's something I oddly like about DVDouble-Shot. Starting In 2005, the DVDouble-Shot line was introduced featuring two-Episode DVDs of 4Kids most profitable shows as a way of promoting 4Kids TV. As for the consumer, the main selling point is that you could buy them for a low price, collect and possibly trade them with your friends, kind of like Pokémon cards. I like the idea of one kid saying to the other on the playground, "hey, wanna trade your Ninja Turtles for my YuGiOh?" How successful they were, I have no idea, but they're fun and easy to review on this show. Given their small portion size, practically every DVDouble-Shot is the same. This one had the episodes "The Chill Factor" and "DeDeDe's Snow Job," in accordance with the ice theme of the disc. It also features assorted promos for then-current and upcoming 4Kids shows identical to those seen in the 4Kids TV September demo disc (which I will hopefully review some time in the future.) Before we move on, though there's one little thing I want to point out about the box art. You can't see it in the photos I've provided, but the ice monster on the cover is far more pixelated than Kirby, if you look closely at it, so it appears to me that they lifted it right out of the episode and placed it on the cover. I guess that's just what happens when no official art of a character exists for your graphic designers to use...
Now that we have that one out of the way, let's talk about the stars of today's episode, which actually turned out to have much more historical value than most of the other stuff in my collection. So say hello to the Winx Club Magazine Premiere Issue, The Castle (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a very special addition to my collection not only because it's part of what I consider to be 4Kids' absolute peak year, but since the book was presumably printed in January of 2005, it means this was one of the first pieces of of merchandise to feature the now-famous 4Kids TV logo. Heck it might have even been printed before then. As for the book itself, it's quite cute as it features everything an 8-11 year old girl wanting to be a hip and trendy 2000s teenager could want, and contains surprisingly few ads for Winx Club merch. And even more adorable, is the publisher's attempts to fit that description using words like "slammin'" in sentences. I call it a magazine, but it's really more dedicated to the comic included, "The Castle," which I would have read, but I needed to get some sleep the day I read it, so I skimmed the book's numerous activities, instead. But for those still interested, the comic is a retelling of Bloom's enrollment in Alfea, with original art that's pretty accurate to the actual show. But the book's real allure is the activities. Like the free trading card you'll see in the photo above. It even comes with a full-page description of what a trading card game is, making reference to YuGiOh in the process, which I thought was funny since 4Kids owned that, and also because it heavily implies that only boys play YuGiOh when the show itself has many female duelists. After that, you have a faux interview with Bloom taken from the perspective of a fellow Alfea Student. What I remember most clearly about that, is that Bloom says she listens to top 40's, which made me think "man, she's got some trash music taste," even though I, myself have said on multiple occasions off of tumblr that I listen to basically everything. Also included on the magazine are a paper fortune-telling toy, a best friend diary which includes a "secret crush" slot to fill in, a page for writing down predictions about the reader's future, and even a personality test which assigns your traits to a type of flower, as suggested by Flora on the page. The funny thing about this is that one question asks for the reader's favorite kind of movie, and one of the options is "anime everything," which I thought was funny since anime was just starting to get big at that time in America, and the online anime community was just starting to grow. Finally, on the last page, probably the most creative of all, is a step-by-step slumber party plan by Musa, which details inviting everyone over, having them show up dressed as their favorite popstar (like Brittany Spears, for example) and bring their favorite CD from said popstar, then taking turns playing them and talking about them. It sounds quite fun, and it made me smile imagining all the little kids who tried this. That's exactly what I think is awesome about children's entertainment: it makes them happy and builds their imagination. So that's the Winx Club Magazine, a really good buy, but I must admit they used the same art of the girls more than once on a few occasions, and also wrote in a plot hole in the interview with Bloom, where she says she discovered her powers as a child, but in the show she unlocks them at her current age when saving Stella from the first monsters of the series. So it may have a couple flukes, but still quite enjoyable.
And last, but never least, it's time for Kirby Right Back at Ya: Kirby Comes to Dream Land (2002)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one is also historically significant for two reasons. One is that it was the very first release of one of the more famous non-Pokémon/YuGiOh shows 4Kids had to offer, but it also played a part in promoting the very launch of the Fox Box, as you'll see on the box art. This disc may only have the first three episodes of the show, but it super makes up for it with a plethora of special features, more than any of the DVDs I currently own, and that they strangely enough don't tell you about on the box. And speaking of the box, though you might not see it, the episode descriptions on the back are written entirely in comic sans. Yeah, it's clear to see 4Kids wasn't quite as sharp as they would be in the next few years... and the DVD menus are also written entirely in this font. But that doesn't take away from the outstanding value. much like the Fright to the Finish DVD, this one's special features are split between two menus. For this one, there's "More Kirby" and "Added Attractions," which is the far superior one, but more on that in a minute. The More Kirby menu features a character gallary telling you about the main cast, set to music from the show. Then there's "Kirbyoke," which is there to teach the kids the words to the theme song. And finally, we have a preview for the next DVD in the series, which at that point hadn't a proper name, so Mike Pollock's voice just refers to it as "Kirby Right Back at Ya Volume 2." Then, in the "Added Attractions" menu, we have a promo for Cubix - Robots for Everyone's first DVD release, a short promo for the newly-launched FoxBox.TV website, and the star of this review by far, "What's Inside The Fox Box?!" This incredible 14 minute long promo (which you can find on Youtube, by the way,) previews every single show in the Fox Box's initial lineup as a way of hyping up the network for it's September 2002 launch. Well, kind of... You see, 4Kids made multi-minute promos for their own productions, complete with plot synopses by Mike Pollock and others and theme songs for the shows. Meanwhile, Stargate Infinity, a third-party show, only got a promo featuring still images of the main cast, a paper-thin explanation of the plot and no opening, all clocking in at under a minute. So, yeah, pretty lame move on 4Kids part, but at least we get to see HD footage of 4Kids lost Ultraman Tiga dub. Ultimately, it's a really fun promo from 4Kids' very beginnings as a dedicated children's entertainment company, even though it uses some uncut clips of guns in Fighting Foodons since the dub wasn't finished at that point. One last thing to point out: the promo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which hadn't even started production at the time,) features an unused theme song demo for the series which also made it's way onto the illusive Fox Box CD. So there you have it, one of the DVDs that started it all. Thanks for reading about it, as well as my other items this week. I will be back with more next week, so hang in there, and I'll see you all next time. Take care!

the bars that separate us
the discordix winx club server i’m in is doing a weekly writing prompt so here you go *gestures vaguely*
prompt:  we've both been arrested and we're stuck in the same jail cell we won't be bailed out until morning so you might as well tell me your story.
Riven heard her arrival long before he ever caught a glimpse of her.  Propped uncomfortably between the humming magical bars and the rough stone of the back wall, he revelled in the complete silence of the Magix City police station he was currently confined to.  They must have had a quiet night because he was the only current occupant of the some dozen cells that made up the hallway.
At first he didn’t even recognise the noise for what it was.  But eventually they were close enough, and he realised it was the approaching roar of many, many people, and judging by the noise level they were all congregating around the front of the police station.  Suddenly the volume ratcheted up another notch, becoming so loud that even in the bowels of the station, Riven began to hear snatches of what had to be the voices of paparazzi and fans.
“- here over here-”
“-what happened tonight-”
“-oh my god-”
“-how will this affect-”
“-what have you got to say for yourself-”
“-love you so much-”
The volume ticked up again for a moment before ceasing altogether, and Riven wondered idly if one of the officers had placed a sound muffling charm on the door.
When they finally did bring her in, Riven had to admit that his first thought was that she certainly didn’t look worth the attention of the screaming paparazzi outside, nor the four officers as well as the captain of the station who were escorting her to the cell adjacent from Riven’s own.  She had pretty, delicate features, but wore no makeup and her hair was scraped back into a messy knot.  Not to mention she was tiny, having to be near a foot shorter than Riven, and wore only a hoodie zipped haphazardly and baggy, grey sweatpants.
“Got you a bit of star power to keep you company, Ghatrif,” the captain grunted, taking the magically reinforced cuffs off the girl’s wrists.
The girl, who could be no older than Riven himself, scoffed something unintelligible and threw herself down onto a bench that he knew from experience was hard as a rock.
“Did you need anything, Miss Zhensheng?” one of the officers asked eagerly, but the girl ignored him and slumped further down on the bench, propping her sneakered feet up on the bars that separated her cell from Riven’s.
“I’m sure Miss Zhensheng will be fine until the morning when a justice fairy will be available to deal with both of them,” the captain said, his hard glare sliding from the girl to Riven, who silently held his hand up in the universal ‘What? I’m innocent’ gesture.
Another of the officers bit her lip before reaching up to whisper something in the captain’s ear.  Immediately his face twisted in annoyance.
“No, you can’t have her autograph.  Now go, you’ve got work to do.”  He shooed the four officers out, and closed the door firmly behind him, leaving the two of them to each other’s company.
“Quite the fanclub you’ve got there.”  Riven couldn’t help the words that slipped out, nor the snide tone that he said them in; his friends were always telling him he had no filter, and that it was probably the reason he was always getting into fights.  The way Riven saw it, he won most of the time, so there was hardly a problem.
The girl, who had turned to watch the captain leave with narrowed eyes, abruptly looked back at him, their gazes meeting for the first time.  Something, be it her face or her last name, tugged at Riven’s memory but he couldn’t place where he might know her from.  Letting any traces of curiosity fade from his expression, he raised an eyebrow, silently prompting her to speak.
Rather than say anything however, she merely flipped him off before shoving her hands into the pockets of her hoodie as she looked away again.  The action from the pint sized girl surprised Riven enough that a chuckle escaped him.  A muscle in the girl’s jaw popped but still she said nothing.
Since she clearly had no interest in conversing with him, Riven felt no obligation to cease staring at her, deciding to pass the time by pondering on where he might know her from.  The school for specialists Riven had attended had been all boys but he didn’t think she’d been a student at the local school for fairies either, he was sure he would have remembered her.  Riven wasn’t much for watching television or movies so he didn’t think that’s where he’d seen her, and with the septum ring hooked through her nose and her fierce eyes he didn’t think she was a member of royalty either.
Riven worked as a Guardian for the dimension so it was very possible he’d saved her on one of his adventures - or misadventures as they sometimes turned out to be - but somehow Riven didn’t think it was that either.  There was something hard about this girl, a tough exterior that begged for anyone to fuck with her and endure the (probably painful) consequences.  He couldn’t imagine her as the kind of damsel in distress he regularly encountered.
Apparently sick of his staring she slowly turned to look at him again, something dangerous in her expression.  It only made Riven want to push her further to see what would happen.
“Can I help you?”  She spoke slowly, her voice low and husky, wrapping around Riven like an embrace, and as she did he knew instantly where he knew her from.
“You’re that singer.  Maia.”
She cocked her head, seeming not to know what to make of him. “Musa,” she finally said.
Riven clicked his fingers, “That’s it.”  He dragged his mind back over everything he had ever heard about this girl, Musa.  “What would a media darling like you be doing in a place like this?”
His words had the desired effect because she hissed out a breath.  It was well known that Musa Zhengsheng was far from a media darling as it were, in fact Riven was sure some well meaning fan out there had documented every run in Musa had ever had with the paparazzi.  He was even more sure that that list would be as long if not longer than Riven’s own rap sheet.
Musa bared her teeth in a shark-like smile.  “Destruction of property.”
Another shred of information came back to Riven.  “Bet your label loved that.”
Musa Zhengsheng had made a very recent, very public, and very controversial split from her record label, and had been only too happy to show her contempt for them in subsequent interviews, accusing them of stifling her creative license.  Riven had scoffed and rolled his eyes when his friends had discussed the juicy gossip with clear interest but had secretly followed the story himself.  Musa had played a concert the eve of the news breaking, and Riven could still remember shivering as he watched a clip of her spreading her arms and singing unapologetically to 100,000 adoring fans “No one can be just like me any way.”
Watching the clip, Riven had believed her then, and looking into her fierce, dark eyes now, he still believed it.
Sitting in the cell she stared into his eyes unflinchingly.  “Good.”
Riven’s lip curled in distaste as he found admiration and irritation running through him in equal parts.  There was no doubt she was a force to be reckoned with, but there was also no uncertainty in his mind that the morning would bring an overpaid lawyer and manager to bail Musa out for what would become a night of mere inconvenience and performative rebellion.  Riven in the meantime would be left to deal with whatever punishment the justice fairy deemed appropriate for him.
“So, that’s it then?  Just a fun way to say fuck you to your old record label.”
Musa surprised him by blinking and looking away first.
“Yeah,” she said, voice sounding thick.  “Pretty much.”
Riven jolted in surprise and realisation.  “But it’s not, is it?  You’re full of it.  That’s not why you’re here at all.”
Musa sat up swiftly and pushed up from the bench, pacing around the cell restlessly.  “‘Course it is,” she said briskly, refusing to look at him.  “That’s exactly why I’m here.”
He scoffed, unwinding his legs so he could stand and approach the bars.  “Bullshit.”
Musa turned on her heel and stomped up to the bars.  “Fuck you,” she spat, looking livid, and despite her short size, Riven found himself glad for the magic separating them.  “Who are you?  Some loser who’s probably got a rap sheet a mile long and doesn’t give a shit about anyone but himself?  Who are you to judge me or think you know me?  You don’t even know me.”
“I know that after tonight you’ll go back to jet setting around with your rich friends, not a care in the universe, raking in the money with that pretty, little voice of yours.”
“You don’t even know me,” Musa said again, but this time Riven swore he saw a flicker of hurt in her eyes.
She turned her back on him but didn’t move away, instead sliding down the magical bars until she was sitting on the hard ground.  Riven watched her do it, not feeling quite so badass, nor so justified in his anger, before sinking to the ground as well, propping his back against the bars.  The floor was cold but Musa’s back was warm against his, a fact that he tried to ignore.
“My best friend’s fiance died a month ago,” Musa said bluntly, breaking their impasse.  Riven blinked and turned his head to try and catch a glimpse of her face, but she remained looking forward.  “I had weeks left of my tour and I felt like the worst friend in the world that I couldn’t be with her through it all.  I only had a few concerts left so I asked if we could reschedule them so I could come home early.  But my fucking label wouldn’t have it, thought it would make them look bad.  Well, I hope they look downright shitty now.”
“Please tell me the destruction of property charge was for smashing up their offices.”
Riven couldn’t see her face, but he thought maybe she was smiling as she said, “Nah, my revenge on them was not letting them make money off me anymore.  I was up for contract renewal with them and they actually had the balls to send a first draft over.  I ripped it up, danced on the pieces, then set them on fire.”
Riven couldn’t help but grin at the mental image.  Then he realised something.  “So if it wasn’t their property you destroyed, then who…”
“I finally got home tonight, and went straight to my friend’s place.  I had to get her out of there, it was too full of memories of the two of them, but of course there was a million fucking people waiting outside.  I can handle it when they come for me, but my family?  My friends?  Fuck that shit.  So when one of those bastards shoved his camera in her face and asked how she was coping with her fiance’s death, I fucking lost it.  I- well, let’s just say that camera is not going to be taking pictures anymore.”
“Good.  Lowlife deserved it.”
“Maybe.  But now my friend has to spend another night without me.”
“You’re a good friend, Musa, and she’ll know that.”
She didn’t answer for a beat, and when she did, all she said was, “So, what’d they get you for?”
Riven heard it for the clear attempt to change the subject that it was, and didn’t push her anymore.  Instead he sighed, staring across his cell as he tried to figure out how to tell the story without coming across as totally lame.  “B&E.”
“Oh yeah?” Musa asked, still sounding morose.  “Get anything good.”
“No,” Riven said glumly, then sighed again.  “My best friend, we came up in foster care together for a while before she was adopted out.  The only thing she has left of her birth family is this necklace.  When she broke up with her asshole ex she left most of her stuff behind at his place because she just wanted to get away from him.  He gave back some of it, but the fucker knew how much that necklace meant to her and he’s been holding it over her head ever since, trying to get her to get back with him.”
Musa made a disgusted sound low in her throat.  “Psycho.”
“Basically.  She tells him there’s no way it’s gonna happen, she’s met someone new, nice guy, and she’s finally happy, so of course he decides he’s not handing it over then.”
“So, you thought you could break in there and steal it back for her.”
Despite himself, Riven smiled.  “Something like that.  And failed miserably.  It’s uh-” he coughed uncomfortably.  “It’s been a while since I’ve done something like that, I was rusty.”
“Still pretty noble though.  I’m sure your friend appreciates the effort.”
“Nah, she’ll probably smack me over the head when I get out of here, and call me an idiot for good measure.”
Musa gave a surprised cackle of laughter.  “I think I’d like this girl.”
Riven chuckled.  “Probably.  She’d like you too, probably more than she likes me.”
He felt a finger poke his side, and he glanced over his shoulder to find that Musa had scooted around and was looking at him.
She bit her lip.  “I’m sorry I said you were a loser who didn’t care about anyone else.”
“That’s alright, I told you that you were a stuck up rich girl with no problems.”
“Truce?” Musa asked, sticking her hand through the bars.
Riven took it and shook, enjoying the flare of warmth at the feeling of her skin on his.  “Truce.”

I have an Idea for a Winx club fanfic:
This happens During season 7 when they have their Butterflix forms.
A fanfic where the Winx club talks with the specialists about Tecna and how they think she is the weakest among of them. Because of she is the Fairy of technology, that she is least physical of the girls, dosen’t know any hand to hand combat and that she barley is having any Bond with other elements like nature or the sea like the rest of the Winx club. That she is also way to focuse with technology and should have other intress then then that.
So they made the agreement that they would keep Tecna away from battle(even Timmy agreed because he loves her so much and dosen’t want her to get Hurt ever again since the omega dimension).
So they did it. The Winx keep Tecna up through showing her things they liked. Flora took her out and reach her about nature, Musa took her to music stores, Stella made her go shop clothes with her, Aisha took her to dance practice and Bloom teached her more about earthen lives.
When there where attack of the witches or any monsters they ran to the battle while they Left Tecna behind.
Same was it with the specialists as they gave her the baby treatment. Like she was to weak to take care of herself or to even Stand on her own legs.
So they all though they did the right thing and thought everything was good and dandy the were WRONG!
Tecna was shocked how they were treating her, how could the Girls and boys she saw as beloved friends treating her like a stupid weak child. It grew worse when Timmy gave her the same treatment when before he and she talked about the thing they love.
When the shock disspeard she grew cold and angry at her friends.
So when the Girls Left Tecna to fight the trix they fell for a trap and when the specialists tried to save them they were also caught.
Which Left Tecna to save them.
So Tecna located them in a unknown part of the forrest not far away from Alfea so she Left and arrived to be meet by her caught friends.
Her friends were trapped in a giant crystal orb that stopped them from transforming into fairies and to use their powers, while the boys were trapped by shadow orbs.
They saw Tecna and beges her to get out of there But it was to late. The Witches had arrived and laughed as they arrogantly talked down at Tecna.
Tecna transformed into butterflix and fight them on her own. The fairies and specialist still begged her to run away which makes so she can’t concentrate.
The witches mocks her saying that they finally understand why the Winx club left her behind. That she she was weak and should just lay down and accept defeat.
Tecna was suprised, then shocked as she saw her friends and Boyfriend ashamed for their doings. Bloom tried do defend their action by saying that they only were worried about Tecna safety.
Tecna showed nothing and didn’t say anything. That made the trix belive the girl had accepted her fate as Stormy attacked her with a Thunderbolt together with Icy’s Ice shard spell. It was a critical hit as fog was created and No one saw Tecna’s body.
The Winx and specialists were horrified and screamed in sheer pain while the trix just smiled, ready to finish Winx and specialists off.
But they didn’t.
Because out of the fog emerald green lighting flew out and hitted the witches right in the back that nearly fried them. They all were shocked and tried to see who fired such a powerfull electricity spell.
As the fog dissapeard it revealed It was Tecna standing there, But looked way different then before. She was No longer in her butterflix form But a combo looking outfit that looked like a mix between a warrior fairy, body suit and mecha (Think Hyperdimension neptunia CPU outfit).
Her wings were made out of Metal that was shaped as butterfly wings, her hair was longer and in ponytail and in her hand she Held a mechanized crescent blade.
She opened her eyes and looked with cold anger at the witches But also her friends plus boyfriends. Then she Said what shocked everyone to the core.
-”You all treated me like a weak stupid child because you belived I was not able to Stand up in battle!? You all forced me to do things that you liked and never Asked my opinion! You Left me behind and I can’t belive I still Call you all My friends”! Tecna whispered But with a powerfull Voice so everyone could hear what she Said. They all saw electricity crackle round her body as her Eyes now glowed green as she raised her blade.
-”And now after this treatment I Will not hold back anymore! I Will fight to My fullest and not let anyone to look down upon me! Because I am not a helpless child”! As her blade glew green and float up to the sky the Witch feelt for the first time fear for fighting the zenithian Fairy.
-”BECAUSE I AM THE DAUGHTER OF THE GREAT HIVE MIND CRYOS! I AM THE GUARDIAN FAIRY OF TECHNOLOGY! I AM TECNA THE TECH WARRIOR PRINCESS OF ZENITH”! Tecna Shouted as she fired herself like a torpedo against the trix to fight them.
Okay guys this fanfic Idea was born because I love anime with Mecha and robots. I was so pissed that zenith was so Pathetic compared to other anime with mecha theme.
So in this AU Tecna is the daughter of cryos which makes her Princess of zenith, Zenithians are litteral robots that can be very dangerous because they are installed with combat and are super humans compared to the rest of the galaxy, zenith mix Magic with technology and have one of the strongest military in the galaxy.
Why None of the other realms knows about it is because Zenithians have keept it a secret because 1. The other realms would understimate them if war broke out and 2. They don’t give a shit about the other realms lives and well being!
Comment if you want to hear the rest of the story!

When you are still talking about a show you are too old for..
warning: it’s loooong (TL;DR section at the bottom)
Just to be clear I have no intention to look into and review any more Winx Club related content and it’s not just because the current environment is not conducive to this kind of endeavor. After I finished paying off my debts I considered getting back to this but eventually decided against it because some of my thoughts regarding this show have changed a little and I overall no longer see the point. One of the things I wanted to accomplish when I first started was to figure out why this show never appealed to me when it first came out on the FoxBox and well, the answer was very simple if not ridiculously obvious. This show was not made for me.
I was a few months short of 13 when the show premiered in the US and had just enough experience in the genre to have expectations, and this was the problem. When western magical girl series started to show up in the early 2000s, I expected shows that improved upon the standards and cliches left by the likes of Sailor Moon and its genre contemporaries, not just in terms of visuals but writing as well. Winx Club however, seemed more in line with the type of cartoons that (since the 80s) popped up every now and then as promotional material for emerging lines of fashion dolls generally targeting younger girls, with the only difference being that it had a progressive story-line. Even if you argue that Winx Club was not so merchandise-driven in its first seasons, contemporary fashion and aesthetics had always been the selling point. By then, shows that prioritized visual appeal over writing and seemed to exists primarily as toy commercials, were starting to lose my interest. I was also getting tired of certain staples like romantic relationships being bland but senselessly overemphasized and characters (specially protagonists) being archetypes with little to no complexity.
As an adult, I since looked back at shows of similar quality/target audience and I have surprisingly been able to find joy within them leading me to another conclusion. It’s not that I am too old and weary to appreciate animated media aimed at young girls. It’s more likely that Winx Club is a sore spot for me because it is the show that made me realize (if subconsciously) that networks in charge of delivering animated media to mainstream television were no longer invested in appealing to me. As a non-white, lower-middle class girl who was never all that into relationship-melodrama I felt that most cartoons of my day didn’t really catered to my interest and I think I saw the rise of Winx Club as a bitter indication that even the animated genres that I liked or tolerated would eventually become completely inaccessible to me.
I had some trouble finding out what the target audience bracket was for the first season. From what I eventually gathered it is either 4-8 or 5-10, although apparently concept-wise the show was intended for a slightly older age group. I give more credence to the first bracket because honestly I think this show works best as baby’s first magical girl series. The less experience you have in the genre, the less fed-up with tropes and the less expectations you have going in, the better.
Lets just make a thing clear. There is no such thing as being too old to watch cartoons. An art medium is not inherently tied to an age group. Unfortunately, everything is at the mercy of capitalism, specially art produced for entertainment. There is a lot of stupidity and outdated ideas governing how mainstream shows are made and to whom they are made for. Industries don’t like to take chances and they are reluctant to change in accordance to society unless an increased in profits can be assured to some degree…
Look, look! I swear I was just going to post a simple paragraph-long note to whoever cared, stating I was not going to continue reviewing Winx Club even though I am no longer in debt. But, I made the HUGE mistake of looking at the Wikipedia page, specifically the part where they quoted show creator Iginio Straffi defending the controversial choices made for season 8, and here I am, annoyed and rambling. To paraphrase, he claims kids around 10 years and older just don’t watch cartoons as much as they used to (sure, Jan) and they just had to retooled their show for a younger demographic and that just means it cannot be as complex as it used to be. Yes, complex is a word he ascribed to the earlier Winx Club content (level of complexity to be clear). I rolled my eyes, I died a little inside and overall I also decided, among other things, to never read another Iginio Straffi interview ever again.
In an effort to wash away this BS and exorcise some demons let me throw here some of my still lingering unwarranted Winx Club thoughts in no particular sequence before this platform collapses any further:
Winx Club is one of if not the longest running western magical girl group series and its success is likely attributed to the fact that back when it premiered in the US, it was the only accessible and visually appealing series to come out of the genre since the beginning of the millennium. It practically had a monopoly of its intended audience. In my neck of the woods, it was available without the need of a cable/satellite subscription. In contrast, Dinsey-owned W.I.T.C.H. didn’t have that same accessibility and I don’t think I even need to bring up anime in general. The one other magical girl show from around the same time that I remembered coming across in syndicated broadcast was Trollz, and well you look that up and tell me how much staying power that looked like it had.
If the show has struggled in recent years is of course NOT because older kids don’t watch cartoons nowadays. Rather I think the show runners are not quite grasping how the circumstances surrounding their target audience have changed since the early 2000s. There are a lot more options out there in terms of entertainment even if you narrow things down to only western magical girl cartoons, not to mention that Winx club no longer has an edge on accessibility. I also think we consume media faster and that along with all the new options of entertainment means we have less head space to dedicate to one single show. Putting a new coat of paint to the newer seasons is simply not enough to remain relevant.
Adding to the above, It’s been well over ten years since the show first premiered. I don’t have data to prove this, but I am willing to bet that a sizable chunk of viewers were there from the beginning or joined at the start of the Nickelodeon era. It makes little sense for changes in writing to include hacking its continuity, rewriting established lore and deleting whatever meager character development they ever had. Maybe it’s not a good idea to turn your show with progressive storytelling including aging characters, into a cash cow you intend to milk for as long as you can and beyond. Maybe they should have given the early seasons a proper conclusion and laid the groundwork for new groups of characters to lead fresh series within the same universe...or you know, a full reboot.
I am not saying that the show should suddenly conform to my tastes (though that would be nice) after all it was not made for me. I just think that people that stuck with it deserve more than what they have been getting. I saw some positive feedback with regards to World of Winx but from what little I saw I don’t think it was good enough to be the series for older fans. Tone might be slightly different but writing-wise it feels more or less the same as the current series. The attempts at humor are still not landing for me at least. Also, how old does Straffi thinks the older fans are? 10? Who knows, maybe season 8 did its job in drawing-in the next gen, and maybe the planned live action series will be all that the older fans have been asking for. I do wish them the best.
Regarding things that I changed my mind about (though only a little bit)...In more than one occasion I referred to Bloom as a mary sue and this has been digging at me. Either the term has become toxic and too often unfairly assigned to any female character in a leading position, or it was always an improper way to discuss mediocre writing. There are main characters that are created in part to serve as vehicles of indulgence for its intended audience. I don’t think these these type of characters need to be complex to be successful or serviceable but I do think relatability and/or likability are indicators of whether or not a specific indulgent protagonist is effective. I didn’t find Bloom to be effective but she seems to be popular enough with the younger range of fans and that’s what matters. All I am saying is that Bloom could have easily been better and all it would have taken was for the writers to slightly lower the pedestal they put her on. Otherwise, they should have just stuck with the Magical Bloom title so no one would have delusions that the show would ever focus on anyone else.
I stand by most of my other major criticisms of the series. Though I admit that when I was looking at each episode I would spend an unreasonable amount of time on small things or personal pet peeves.I maintain however that to whom a show is intended for should not be a determinant of quality and there are things worth discussing even if one is not within the age-range of said audience. However, it’s not hard to tell what Winx Club is mostly about; it’s romance-centered. If you are not all that invested on that sort of stuff or you don’t like what the show is offering, then there is little point in sticking around because you are just going to get more and more caught-up on the flaws. The fantasy world elements while ambitious in scope are not well developed and consistency is an issue since the beginning that only gets worse as the series goes on. Unless you can subsist solely on the aesthetics and merch-friendly elements, I wouldn’t bother beyond the first movie.
If Winx Club had been the definitive blue print shaping the future of western magical girls shows, I would probably feel justified in making this much of a fuss. However, pretty much any other show I have seen after the fact has been a deviation and an improvement. I believe that’s because more content creators that grew up with the genre (and understood the many ways it could be improved) are finding opportunities to bring their appreciation for it into the mainstream. It’s pointless for me to still complain about the older stuff. Heck, I can even find good things to say about Angel’s Friends and this is definitely a cartoon that was shaped by the success of the fairy school show.
Winx Club is fine, it has as much right to exist as any other piece of mindless entertainment aimed at any demographic.  And that’s that.
TL;DR
I am not reviewing Winx Club stuff anymore. I just had a lot of thoughts that were brought up by an annoying Iginio Straffi quote I saw on the Wiki page while I was working on that last post. Extended rambling is what I apparently do when I am mildly upset. I barfed all this out in the hopes that I won’t think about this show again anytime soon.
If morbid curiosity gets the better of me, I might give future Winx Club content a watch. I just won’t post about it because it seems I am incapable of finding joy in it.
No, I don’t take criticisms of the bad spelling/grammar of my ramblings. Let this mess be. This is also not a place for debate, the only discourse I welcome here is whether or not relatability is a word. Online dictionaries say it’s fine but my word processor says it is not a thing. Discuss! (JK)
Stay safe,

Chapter Two of my Winx Club story:)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/29434017/chapters/83442574
Chapter Two
Aisha's PoV
Aisha had always thought that magic, if it did exist, should find a way to co-exist with technology. Even though she had an affinity for water—and thus sometimes she and technology did not mix at all—she did still felt this way.
Perhaps it was because she'd thought when she was young, that she had some magic over water when it came out of the pipes. After all, if one had their hands under something and water ran over them, a child would think it was their limbs that were creating the substance, wouldn't they?
Aisha was having these kinds of thoughts while she was in class right now… as she dreamed that she could actually make something of her life. Aisha wanted to do something both practical and dreamy, so she could always make ends meet, but also not want to die in a career that she hated.
And, of course… it would be when she thought she was maybe finding her answer, about what field she should go into, that one of the rooms nearby would burst into flame, so that she and everyone else would have to swiftly evacuate their classroom!
Aisha did just that, making sure to aid any student who might have fallen in their distress to get out of the building.
It was then that she saw him, as they all got to the designated meeting place the school had set up, in case there was ever a fire there.
He looked to Aisha what a prince might have, in some alternate universe. Because he looked well-put-together, which was what made Aisha think of a royal or nobleman, but he was also rocking dreadlocks and an MP3 player playing loud rock music; and thos parts were what made Aisha think he could have been royal in an alternate universe. Not this one.
He was also certainly attractive. And Aisha was smitten, despite herself.
And the man must have seen that Aisha hadn’t quite made it across the street yet, because he linked Aisha's arm with his own and pulled her as far away from the fire as she could be in this meeting location.
And yes, Aisha thought she may have just been falling in love.
Aisha and the man parted ways for a little bit, so Aisha could go to her teacher doing roll call, but he found her again a little while later.
And then somehow and some way, he asked the questions of Aisha’s dreams! "Do you want to start a business with me?" And this made Aisha do a double-take, because she probably did... but how would he have guessed that, and why was he singling her out in particular But more importantly: "You ask someone that right after a fire?!"
"I saw you went back to help the others in this disaster. And if that doesn’t speak of your character, I don’t know what does. So, what do you say? I’m Nabu, by the way.”
And, dangit. Nabu was smiling at Aisha now—far too prettily, while he seemed to be thanking her for having a good heart—and there was really only one thing she could say to this, wasn’t there?
Since fate had finally seemed to find a way to make her dreams come true, when she was so indecisive.
Aisha stuck her hand out and shook Nabu’s, grinning herself now. “Sure. Why not? Let’s give it a go!”
Musa's PoV
Musa had always known that music could have a powerful effect on people. She had grown up watching Phantom of the Opera, after all, so such a belief had been instilled in her at a young age. Though she didn't go as far as to think music could necessarily hypnotize someone like that musical said, she did think that music could be one of the most seductive things out there, and so much more.
Like right now, when Musa was working at the grocery store, she knew that the slow jazz being played was to entice buyers to slow down and relax so they'd want to buy more. And while Musa hated that manipulative marketing strategy, she still had to respect that someone had figured that all out...
And that was even the real reason as to why she worked at "Gobble Up Groceries". Aside from the fact she needed the money, she was hoping she could figure out the reverse of that, almost: the type of music one could play in a store, so they wouldn't lose all of their hard-earned cash—but that the companies wouldn't realize was too different from their normal music they played here, and that Musa had played them—but still bought just enough so the shops could stay in business. Because, at the end of the day, Musa was nothing but someone who cared deeply about people.
And it was when she was doing more research on this subject, that she saw the crash site on the TV. It seemed a train had escaped its track, and caught fire! Two people had survived forensics was finding out, but they had disappeared into the ether right afterwards.
And if that wasn’t just spooky to Musa. She also had a thing for ghost stories, murder mysteries (though she was praying this wasn’t one of those), and anything like that. And there was a part of her that wanted to go to where this disaster had happened—not too far from her home, surprisingly enough—and see if she could figure this all out for herself.
Musa thought that maybe she could commune with the dead via her music, too, and that maybe some phantoms out there might be able to tell her what happened to the two missing survivors, this way.
After all… if ghosts would talk to people over a Ouija board, how much moreso might they be drawn into someone singing for them, since music was the ultimate kind of sublime communication that had been invented by the gods?
“Musa,” Brandon, Musa’s co-worker, spoke to Musa now, with an accusing lilt in his voice, but it was all in good fun. “You look like you’re about to jump into the Mystery Machine and do some investigating, Scooby-Doo style. And if you’re going to do that… mind if I go with you? You know I love danger, too, and I want to make sure you stay safe.”
And bless Brandon right now. He was trying to fix the bottom tray of her cash register—that held all the money, of course—that had gotten wopperjawed lately.
And it was that, more than anything else—that he was a good friend—that had Musa agreeing with him, since she didn’t need his protection or anything like that. “If you want to,” Musa beamed at him. “We could probably convince Vanessa to let us go nos, since it’s Christmas Eve and I don’t think anyone else is coming in tonight.”
Sure enough, Vanessa was an angel and did just that—and she made both of them promise to enjoy their Christmas more than they worried about the store these few Holiday days, before she bid them adieu.
Tecna’s PoV
Tecna, like her name made her sound (and her parents must have been psychic to call such a thing, she thought now), loved technology more than anything.
At the young age of eight, she’d been able to hack into government databases, just for fun, and had then been recruited by the CIA when she turned eighteen: the states had been willing to let bygones be bygones, as long as she worked for them. And she had, of course, in not seeing another way out then.
Though Tecna had left them a year ago, when she was twenty-one. And there were days that she certainly thought that the agency might try to burn her or kill her, in thinking she was too much of a threat.
But for now… they seemed content to let her be, since she was the best of the best and would freelance for them sometimes, when they really needed her once more.
What Tecna really cared about, though, was Global Warming. And trying to get the world to go green, so they might serve the Earth.
Tecna wished that she could just tell the U.S. to trust her when it came to this, since she had saved their lives numerous times and would with this, too, if they just listened.
But she knew that such a thing would be impossible, of course.
Sometimes, Tecna hated the need for secrecy so very much.
So, even though it wasn’t her cup of tea, she was trying to see if she could find a way design more efficient solar-powered windmills, here in her studio.
Tecna was currently on the phone with her boyfriend Timmy, who was telling her what sort of outfit she’d need to wear if she wanted to schmooze at this event with him tonight, to try to make her voice heard.
And… she was somewhat a contradictory person… because while she knew she was pretty and could clean up well—and would look more than fine, in this slinky dark blue dress, bordering on black—sometimes she wished that she… wasn’t this smart: that she wasn’t who she was, since the world didn’t think that “nerdy” and “lovely” went hand-in-hand.
And sometimes, Tecna wondered if she wouldn’t have been happier, if she hadn’t been born with such a big brain, but there was nothing she could do about it now. Was there?
“Anyway, Timmy,” Tecna joked now. “We’d better find a way to save this world, before fairies from the woodlands kill us all for destroying their homes—and for what we’ve done to the planet as a whole—like I read about in that children’s book when I was young.”

Kado 11 | Boku no Hero Academia 26 | Hina Logi 1 | Grimoire of Zero 12 (FINAL) | Tsukigakirei 12 (FINAL)
I’ll just leave another reminder for this straw poll here, because I need a tiebreaker vote.
Kado 11
Even anisotropic beings have dreams? Welp, that was unexpected.
Uh, hey. Kado staff. Algerian people don’t all look like Asians, y’know? Google says Algeria is in Africa…
So, staff. Why is Shindo the only man/person/human who can stop zaShunina?
Oh yeah. Shinawa knows a way to stop the fregonics!
Basically how I feel about Kado is how Hanamori feels about the situation + Saraka right now – confused and torn.
(laughs) Thank…(face falls) you, Hanamori, for making me laugh with your mapo tofu comment and remember why I loved this show in the first place. It was fleeting, but good…Wait, but isn’t abduction against the law?
Uhhhh. Kado staff. The fregonics suit has boob space. Meaning a woman will wear it…awkwarddddddd…
Finally, we get back from our “shonen battle” roadtrip to drive to the final battle.
zaShunina’s like an old lady now, LOL. Reading on a rocking chair and enjoying the sunset.
Yeah…please just keep your lips away from each other, guys. I was here for the negotiation, remember?
Oh. That wasn’t a boob plate. I was LOLling at their idea to give that to a woman, because the one woman who needs that plate is Shinawa, whose job is already over. Good thing I was wrong there, then. It’s also interesting to note this suit looks like a gladiator suit…like humanity has reverted itself to medieval times to fight zaShunina, who represents the future. (I’m still laughing though, because I knew Shindo was hot under that shirt, but damn, I did get more than enough eye candy this season just by this one gladiator suit…and zaShunina’s butt.)
Well, I kinda did get what I wanted by having the Hanamori/Shindo ship broken, but even though I got a het ship (which I’m normally more supportive of), I don’t support this het ship at all.
It’s cute to see a floating pink cube act like a phone. Or one of those annoying fairy companions…
Welp, it’s almost over. See you next ep for the final simulcast commentary.
Boku no Hero Academia 26
Apparently BnHA’s on break this week, meaning I’m caught up after this.
There was a thing called work experience that we had to do at one point – that’s how I got the experience needed for One Wish They Never Wanted’s bookstore scenes.
It’s cool to see Eraserhead and Present Mic in the same situation as Deku and everyone else. Aizawa looked kinda bishie then, which is unexpected.
I don’t get the reference involving acid blood…
That’s nice. I already knew the names everyone was going to come up with due to the time I’ve spent on the wiki, but the homage becomes much more significant when you see it in context.
Dangit, Midnight. You stole my explanation thunder.
I always wondered why Shouto never got a better hero name. So he literally just used his own name, huh?
I wanna cry at the Iidas’ plight but I have no tears, dangit!
I don’t get it- what’s the “air chair exercise”?
Gran Torino. I’ve watched the movie that has that name, it’s about a vintage car (Ford Gran Torino), an old guy called Walter (Walt for short) and racism. I always suspected Walt was the reason Gran Torino (hero) was named thusly...but until Horikoshi says something about it, we’ll all have to keep speculating…(By the way, the racism perspective in that movie resonated with me, despite my not being a Hmong person. Maybe I’m not properly acknowledging it, but it might be one of my inspirations for Half-Paid Heroes…?)
Hina Logi 1
I have come here to hate on this magical girl spinoff, because man, Luck and Logic squandered what could have been a very good plot – it was “pretty but no substance”, to quote a past me. Indeed, it’s because magical girls are my passion that I have high expectations of new entrants into the genre…
Okay, what is this? Hogwarts???...Actually, the best match, right down to the white turrets, would be Alfea of Winx Club.
It’s stoic girl, Ojou-sama + companions and Shinawa-lite. See? Stereotypes, although I ribbed the names from ANN (having read it a few weeks before I got here). However, before I read ANN, I’d already predicted this would be a pile of road apples.
I feel like I should know who Nina is (from ANN), but I didn’t get far enough to familiarise myself with Nina in the original Luck and Logic, haha.
This genki glutton girl is basically gender bent shonen cliché, y’know? Serve me something slightly different, and I’ll be a happy camper.
I can’t believe I laughed at Nina going “my teacher told me to”, because I expected it.
The humour isn’t funny in this for the most part…the eyecatch says, “16th May. Fluffy! (Fuwaafuwaa!)” “Fluffy” of course being in reference to the messed-up hair.
Urgh, this fanservice is driving me up the wall and giving me a headache…
Ooh, nice transformation sequence!
Enough with the yuri between Nina and Lion! Gah!
“May 16th. From this point forward,  [Kagura] became very angry.” (I had to Google the teacher’s name. She’s so insignificant this episode, I can’t even remember it…)
Lion’s face is getting more annoying by the second…
“May 16th. Everyone ate heartily.” (I used the word “heartily” because I didn’t have a better substitute for oishii in this case, but *shrugs* I don’t care either way.) The use of itadaku I’m still fairly new to, so hopefully someday I can use the word with confidence…
“…reminds me of my mommy.” – Gah, Lion. Are you a toddler? I imagine you with a toddler’s tone when the subs say that.
“Send your beloved Hina on a journey.” – It’s actually a reference to something. Check this article’s title for what it is. That’s a Japanese proverb which says to not baby your kids too much.
I feel like this is a pretty clean drop. After all, if I rage for all the wrong reasons (and come out with a slight headache in the end), you know that the show is a drop.
Grimoire of Zero 12 (FINAL)
Thirteen’s with the crew at the end of the OP. Huh.
I have the feeling that Holdem will never kill Thirteen, even though that dogface is trying to stab the sorcerer right now.
Intruders,much? It’s an army!
It seems like these animal fights were meant to be a big spectacle but observe the background animals and see how off model they are. That’s how much care was put into what was meant to be the show’s climax this ep.
I would’ve loved to see Mercenary do a Batman backhand. Those are always cool and sometimes funny.
The cloud and white-frame animation look gorgeous in a sakuga way! Now we’re talking!
Having someone die solves nothing. It is only those who need an outlet for blame that require needless death, am I right?
Ohhhhhhhh! One kiss made at least 2 or 3 people jealous, LOL.
I wanted to see Mercenary as a human. He could’ve been real hot…dangit.
The ED song is real cute and iyashikei. I don’t think I’ve properly listened to it until now, so…good on me for doing so, haha.
Tsukigakirei 12 (FINAL)
Tsukigakirei’s been a middle ranker for me most weeks, so to suddenly get better around the time when Kado fell was practically begging for the two to switch places…(Note: I’ve made a personal ranking for each ep in a document I’ve kept all to myself, and I haven’t posted them online. That’s why I’ve had comments that indicate where shows are on that ranking at the start and end of an ep’s simulcast commentary.)
That sparkly shot of the river is in the OP too, so when there was a shot of Kotarou and Akane, I was disappoined I wasn’t seeing the OP (even though I still think the live-action bit is a lil’ weird). It’s cute how those guys are wearing the same jackets, though.
There’s a water thermos in the back of Tachibana’s (glasses guy’s) bookstore.
Kotarou’s dragon background is so cool. I want one.
The thing with the rhino doesn’t translate well. The word for “goodnight” here is oyasuminasai and rhino is sai, so…yeah. I think it would be better to call it “sleep rhight” (including typo) to convey that pun better, but hey. I’m not going to major in Japanese.
When Chinatsu revealed she got into the same school as Kotarou, I verbally went, “Oh no!” Don’t you remember how I was with ep 7???
Even Chinatsu has that black jacket, so it seems to be a school-issued one.
My heart just broke a lil’ bit as Chinatsu hugged Kotarou…I’m not sure what to make of it…
I’ve never seen “graduation” being abbreviated to “grad” unless it’s “grad school” and the “grad” in that stands for “graduate” (noun). It’s a very American term, so I never use it, but…the term translated to “grad” is “graduation ceremony” (sotsugyoushiki). Seriously though, CR. Enough with your Comic Sans translations.
The translation of the prologue misses something. The first sentence has da to omou at the end, meaning “I think…”.
A novel board. Y’know, like Honeyfeed. I’ve got quite a lot of experience with ‘em, because I don’t intend to be a person who gains money from writing…not fulltime, anyway.
There’s a site called Syousteuka ni Narou which is basically Honeyfeed for a Japanese audience, with the added bonus of possibly getting your works into print and then anime. The recently announced Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, as well as Re:Zero and a lot of its kin, have come from that board. It’s pretty clear that Syousetsuka is being parodied here, that’s all…even though the titles of the websites are completely different phrases.
What’s that bird with the long neck called? The one standing in the water? I wanna know…
Normally with anime tears, it’s like me and CGI - I bash most efforts. However, I think this is the effort that I commend the most so far…this anime season is full of surprises…Well, Kotarou? Can you keep up with a girl that does track?
Everyone cries when someone leaves, so long as that person has made an impact. I know that all too well…
Dangit trash CGI people. Just as I got used to you, you become obvious again! Grah!
I admit I shed a few tears there…I’m not crying, you’re crying! (Also, if you haven’t paid any attention to what I’ve been writing, One Wish They Never Wanted was based on similar experiences to Kotarou and Akane’s graduation, although a lot of it happens outside Takuma’s point of view and so I didn’t write it.)
Oh! Hey, these are the end of ep LINE convos from previous eps, coupled with pics of the ones who typed them! The “seaman” convo would’ve made more sense if the translator would’ve bothered translating the word “semi” (short for “seminar”) as it was, because that makes more sense. I really don’t get the “marr” one though.
Well, any show that makes me cry on its first run is a show I don’t regret. I still feel weird putting Kado below it, because Kado was betted than Tsukigakirei for most of its run (as I’ve said at the start of this commentary). Regardless of what happened though, I guess…I’ll see you all for the next show then! Bye for now!

Winx Club (pt.14): “Episode 5″ Back to Alfea pt.1
IN THE SINISTER SISTERS’ HIDEOUT…
“She’s stronger than we thought!” scoffed Kasandra.
“Yeah! And she’s got strong allies! Nice plan to attack them!” yelled Victoria.
“I know that!” screamed Faith. “Today, remember they are going to Alfea.” reminded Faith
“Oh yeah! The prestigious school for fairies! Ugh!” mocked Victoria.
“While they pack why don’t we attack? When they least expect it!” suggested Kasandra.
“Patience Kasandra!” shushed Faith. “Let’s wait ‘til they make it to Alfea, we can attack all those freshman fairies, maybe we’ll even send one of our friends to attack her.” planned Faith
“Oh yess!” they cackled.
“Let’s check in on Jackie right now.” suggested Faith.
Faith used her powers to create a screen to watch Jackie and see what she’s doing.
“Wow,she just woke up. Morning Sunshine!” mocked Faith
“Hope you have a good day! NOT!” Kasandra cackled.
They all laughed evilly together.
THE NEXT MORNING…
“*yawn* huh? where is everyone?” wondered Jackie.
She got up from her bed and looked around to see where they were. Jackie walked downstairs to the kitchen where Flora and Bloom were cooking. Everyone else was around the living room, and the kitchen waiting for breakfast.
“Flora? Is the food ready yet?” asked Aiesha.
“Almost Aiesha!” answered Flora, from a distance.
Bloom noticed Jackie walking in.
“Morning Jackie!” Bloom greeted.
Jackie walked toward the island and took a seat ready for breakfast, next to Musa.
“*yawn* Good morning Bloom” responded Jackie.
“Did you sleep well?” asked Flora
“Yeah, pretty good!” replied Jackie.
“Great! ‘cause breakfast is almost ready!” announced Flora.
“Great. I’m getting pretty hungry!” laughed Jackie. Jackie noticed Stella was the only one not around, and looked around the room for her.
“Hey, um… where’s Stella?” asked Jackie.
“Y’know Stella, she’s always sleeping in.” giggled Musa.
“A Princess needs her beauty sleep.” imitated Tecna.
“Spot on impression of Stella Tecna!” complimented Aiesha.
“Thanks!” thanked Tecna.
“Speaking of Stella, there she is!” pointed Bloom.
“Morning everyone!” greeted Stella.
“Morning Stella! You came in just in time! Breakfast is ready.” said Flora.
“Morning Jackie! Are you ready to go to Alfea?” questioned Stella.
“Yeah, I’m ready. Knowing that the sisters won’t be attacking Gardenia sure makes me happy.” said Jackie.
“Why are they attacking you anyways?” asked Stella.
“Stella, I’ll tell you everything when we get to Alfea. Anything you want to know and things I have to tell you, will be told at Alfea.” reassured Jackie.
“Well, at least show me those cool spells that you do!” urged Stella. “Y’know the ones where you wave your hand. Like that powerful one you used on Faith.”
“Not a powerful one! A simple spell will do Jackie.” exclaimed Bloom.
“Sure, don’t worry!” smiled Jackie. Jackie started waving her fingers in a circular motion and golden yellow magic energy started growing in her hands, as she casted her spell.
“A simple spell I can do one of those, give me something simple, let’s see… a rose!” Then, Jackie gently struck her hand in the direction towards the counter in front of her. Magically, a beautiful red rose appeared.
“Whoa!” they reacted in all.
“What kind of magic is that?” Tecna inquired.
“Well, I already told you. It’s magic from the magic realm. I am able to use it with my Marvelix powers. I learned how to use the magic in Corvelia.” bubbled Jackie.
“Jackie, you never told us but where does your powers come from?” asked Flora
“Yeah, for example I’m the fairy of the dragon flame, Stella’s the fairy of the shining sun, Flora’s the fairy of nature, Musa’s the fairy of music, Tecna’s the fairy of technology, and Aiesha’s the fairy of waves.” Bloom explained
“And Roxy’s the fairy of animals.” added Flora.
“Well, my powers are kind of mixed match. I have the four elements like the kanays, fire, air, water, earth. I also have powers that come from gemstones and some other elements like iron, titanium, platinum…” said Jackie
“So…like scientific elements?” Tecna interrupted.
“Yeah! Pretty much!” realized Jackie.
“Cool!” exclaimed Tecna.
“So, I guess I’m the fairy of elements?” Jackie concluded.
“Yeah, you are!” Bloom hollered.
“That’s cool!” Aiesha complimented
Meanwhile, Stella was pigging out on her breakfast. Luckily, Musa caught her.
“Hey! We better eat before Stella eats all the food!” Musa laughed.
Stella dropped her fork onto her plate.
“What I was hungry?!” giggled Stella.
Everyone laughed along.
Later…
The winx met the specialist and Roxy at the Frutit Music Bar.
“Hey guys!” waved Brandon.
“Hey!” greeted back Stella!
“Are you guys ready to go back to Magix?” Bloom asked.
“Yup! We’re all ready Bloom!” Sky replied.
“Hey.” Musa looked around. “Um, where’s Riven?” she asked.
“He didn’t say he was joining us. Maybe he’ll come later.” replied Sky.
“Oh ok.”- Musa
Roxy came walking in.
“Hey guys!” greeted Roxy
“Hey Roxy, are you joining us? We’re going to Alfea.” Bloom inquired.
“Yeah, I will be going to Alfea for the new year. I’ll still be visiting My mom, dad, and Artu of course.” Roxy announced.
“Great, cause we’re about to leave.” Bloom said.
“You guys ready? I can teleport us there with a spell.” offered Jackie.
Suddenly, Riven came running in with a suitcase waving his arms to get the Attention of his friends.
“Wait guys! Wait!” hollered Riven.
“Huh?” they all wondered and turned around facing his direction.
“Riven? Are you coming with us?” asked Musa.
“Yes, I think it’s time I come back to Magix. I’m going to Red Fountain again.” announced Riven.
“That’s great Buddy! We sure have missed you there!” exclaimed Brandon.
“Now that everyone’s here. Shall we go?” said Jackie.
“We’re ready Jackie.” signaled Bloom.
“Ok.” Jackie started casting her spell again with her hand waving. “It’s sad to say to Gardenia see ya, Now it’s time to go to Alfea!”
Jackie’s magic wrapped around everyone and teleported them to Alfea in the Magic Dimension.

Winx Club Season 7 Thoughts Part 2
Part 1 can be found here.
7x14:
- Love how none of the other Winx’ animals were impressed with Bloom’s unicorn. And it got its butt handed to it as well. Poor Amarok, though.
- Why is Roxy the one training the animals and not Winx, who are literally bonded with them? I am so sick of them having these animals without being shown to take care of them or anything. Layla was tending to Squonk at first but she has abandoned that now as well. The rest never even bothered.
- Oh, of course, Bloom’s unicorn is even more special than the other fairy animals and has magic even though the rest don’t. Of course!
- Seriously? That’s the surprise? That’s more of a lesson or revelation than a surprise.
- They are the Guardians of the Ultimate Power? Weren’t Winx supposed to find the animal with the first color of the universe? What the hell happened to that? Please, tell me they didn’t just drop it.
- Oh, and they just got a new transformation without doing shit for it! They didn’t even try to work with their own fairy animals. But who cares? They get a transformation because they are just so special! And which commercial did the creators rip off for the Tynix transformation this time?
- Tynix is a bit... much. But the animals look kinda cool. I am just not sure why they become bigger in order to go into smaller worlds. How does that make sense?
- What do they even need from the mini worlds? The animal? The Ultimate Power? One leading to the other? Do the writers even know what they’re doing anymore?
- And what is Brafilius supposed to do when he can’t ride on Kalshara’s back and he can’t transform either?
- Beware the Dragon Council!
- Oh, so that’s what he’s supposed to do. Get a concussion!
- How is this not Pyros? This should have been Pyros. Not that I am thrilled about going there again but come on! It would have made so much sense and been a good throwback. Edit: It’s Pyros but it does not look like Pyros and everyone has confirmed that.
- So she made a fire eater? How did she “forge[d] a creature”? Wtf.
- Oh, damn! I forgot that getting Tynix didn’t mean that we were getting rid of Butterflix. *sigh* I was so ready to move on.
- At this point Kalshara should know that Brafilius doesn’t have that much and even using everything he has is just not going to be enough. She is failing them both by being so stubborn when it comes to their strategy.
- How did Brafilius made more of those creatures?
- The quips aren’t smart or creative. Winx just sound like overconfident idiots.
- Shiny really do be over here eating precious stones? And that is actually helping them win? Wow, okay.
- So what? The dragons die without the fire? Why did Kalshara tell them what she did so that they can find a way to fix everything?
- They’re really gonna fall for the “Do you have any other choice but to trust me thing?”
7x15:
- Why is this episode named “The Magic Stones”? How many more stones? What is up with this season and all the goddamn stones?
- The fairy animals really seem to be defeating the fire eater things that have the flames. They can just... use that in some way to release the fires back. Edit: Those are different creatures from the one Kalshara sent after the fire.
- So they actually redid the footage from season 3 and kept the original transformation BUT then they added something we have never seen and Bloom was wearing an outfit from season 4? What the hell? Also, Maia literally gave Bloom a necklace with the essence of Pyros to strengthen her powers implying that the essence of Pyros is very similar if not the same as the essence of the Dragon Fire. But now they decided that using the Dragon Fire would be too convenient because they wouldn’t get to show their Tynix powers. Great fucking logic!
- So that’s why they have Tynix warping time. So that they can just leave a battle whenever and just pop right back in a couple of seconds to not worry about losing. Bloom could have just gone on her own and left Winx behind to handle Kalshara but that would have been a too advanced strategy.
- Lucky that Shiny isn’t eating the whole mini world. But how did they get there when they were just fighting Brafilius? Of course, the time warping bullshit they pulled.
- So that’s why the animals got bigger - so that Winx can ride them. They have wings and could have been flying just fine.
- Their bonded animals being proud is what means that Winx have strength inside? What the hell?
- Why is there a song even though they should be rushing and can you see me skipping it? Because that is exactly what I’m doing.
- The vampire of fire? Wow, okay.
- They are gonna restore a volcano with techno magic? Makes perfect sense. And why are they surprised that the Tynix powers are working? They’re supposed to be working!
- The “vampire” looks like a dragon. That eats fire energy and then shoots back fire.
- Why does Squonk look like a completely different animal? (Yes, I noticed just now.)
- Really? Combining their powers is how they solved this? And the rest of Winx didn’t even join her? Bloom and Elas did all on their own? *eternal sigh*
- They asked for a spa day as payment? I am straight up not having a good time with this season.
7x16:
- They took Riven out of the show only to have Nex take his place as the competitive asshole of the group? Really? That was the big plan?
- The dolphins are so precious and perfect! They knocked both Sky and Nex off their surfs. XD And Layla rubbed their noses in it. That was actually nice (yes, I am going to be petty like that).
- They made that crab more menacing than the main villains of the season. And you’re telling me that Stella sensed the crab but did not notice the turtles burying her alive?
- Brandon getting hit with wild magic by those flowers he wanted to pick would have been way more interesting. And why are all the animals being assholes on purpose? That is not how animals would usually behave in the presence of people even if they are used to the tourists in Paradise Bay.
- Love how Helia is dissing Earth.
- Did I mention that I hate the fact that all the fairy animals can talk now?
- Oh, you mean that there’s gonna be an episode in this episode? And they are actually right where the danger is? Because that is not convenient at all. It’s like the writers don’t even want to send them to more places on Earth even if it actually exists and they don’t have to make stuff up.
- How convenient that the threat only showed up now that they have their Tynix.
- If you really feel so happy, Flora, then why don’t you stay there? Maybe that will bring you back to your old self when you weren’t being a bitch to an animal for no reason.
- Those monsters look like upgraded ants. Plant-mites? You mean termites but for leaves?
- Their spells are now tied to their home planets? Is it because they’re going to the mini worlds? So they’re bringing something from their own worlds?
- Wait. WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! Stella just called Brandon her fiance? FIANCE?!?!?!?!?! UM, YES??????????? THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY CONFIRMING THAT THEY’RE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Oh, this time they have to fight the tiny creatures of the world because they thought they’re enemies? This is getting mildly interesting!
- Oh, come on! They have wings! Falling shouldn’t be a problem when they can fly!
- Please, just let Bloom get caught by the weeds! Flora got caught but Bloom is legit riding over the weeds???
7x17:
- The leaf creature is called Chloe?
- Winx really didn’t catch on to the fact that the creatures attacked them after Stella mentioned that Brandon gave her those flowers?
- Flora, in order for everyone to know Winx wouldn’t harm nature, everyone needs to know about Winx. And I doubt the creatures in the mini worlds care about who you are. They obviously don’t know you! I don’t know how to tell you this but popularity has gotten to your head.
- You’re telling me that picking just one flower destroys the whole balance? Do they forget that Tritanus spread pollution in Paradise Bay back in season 5? If what they’re saying is true, the whole bay should have died back then! Also, are you seriously telling me that the people we have seen go to Paradise Bay have never ever picked a flower? This is bullshit!
- Another mini world in this mini arc (though, that implies that there is plot)?
- Weee, water slides! Not like this is an important mission that has a bearing on the fate of an entire ecosystem!
- Wait, those are the real colors of nature? Can’t that help them figure out which is the first color of the universe so that they can find the animal with it more easily?
- I thought that they were in a hurry to save the Bay but they have wasted so much time and oh, that’s right! It doesn’t matter because time is what the writers want it to be in the mini worlds!
- These episodes are endless when they keep wasting so much time!
- Gems of light? Did I miss something? Are the seeds for the gems? I don’t care enough to go back and check.
- They really thought that it was gonna be that easy? And the writers really thought that a black globe is a good enough obstacle? And do they really only have one spell available each in the Tynix transformation?
- Tell me Bloom is gonna fly right into another globe blocking her way! (Of course, she won’t. If anyone will be fucking up like that, they’re gonna make it be Stella.)
- Oh, you mean that they actually got caught? All of them? But where the hell is Layla’s morphix? That could have helped. But what the hell? The fairy animals are now making bubbles of their own? AND it is because Squonk gets stronger due to Layla being the fairy of waves? Then why is she not stronger? This is ridiculous.
- Oh, the plants needed water? Huh, who would’ve thought, right? Not like Flora is the fairy of nature or anything!
- So... how did picking the flowers hurt the mini world when they actually needed to plant some seeds?
- Why did Stella go crazy on Brandon about the flowers when she could have just explained to him what happened?
7x18:
- Why are they... what are they... thinking with this competition against lemurs? What the hell?
- Aren’t raccoons supposed to be vicious little beasts and not the lemurs? Wtf.
- You know, Brafilius is annoying as hell but Kalshara is actually pissing me off more because there is much more that she can do and she just... doesn’t? Like, do you wanna get defeated? Also, no wonder your brother needs rest when you don’t since he’s the one doing everything. And did she just call him jellyfish? Because they’re soft and just drift around and don’t have brains? Wow, that’s so nice of you.
- The lemurs talk?????????????? Wtf?!
- Love how Kalshara doesn’t even bother remembering their group name. To her they’re just fairies like all other fairies. That is actually kinda funny.
- How did they not see Kalshara and Brafilius? It wasn’t like they were hiding!
- They are making... the bananas fight... Instead of, like, feeding the bananas to the lemurs and making them fight? They looked pretty vicious and that would have been a better strategy.
- Okay, how can they tell the trees are contaminated?! They just tried the spell on the fruits, not the trees themselves? And now they’re going in the past for bananas? Really?
- A giant lemur falling in love with Stella? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Why are they doing this to me? This season just got an awful lot worse and that is saying something.
- Wow, use bananas to lure the thing that eats bananas. What a complex plan. Why did it take them so long to figure it out?
- Okay, that dress from leaves is actually much better than some of Stella’s designs have been but doesn’t she notice that the lemur is preparing her for a wedding? Like, literally dressing her as a bride? And here I thought that this couldn’t get worse (Lmao @ Stella keeping her manners while being kidnapped by a gigantic lovesick lemur, though.)
- Oh, my god, the wedding march. That wouldn’t be composed for about a couple thousand years more! (Yes, I am focusing on logical failures because this is too much of a disaster.)
- It’s trying to kiss her... I really need Winx to show up at this point!... Good. But I won’t thank anyone for this because the creators should have never made this happen.
- Oh, come on! It followed them into the present and they’re having Brandon vs giant lemur and having Brandon losing?
- Finally the end to that. But will the giant lemur remain in the present? At least they got the goddamn bananas! Good because I am going bananas over here!
7x19:
- These guards look familiar... Oppositus? Yes, that is. They have the symbol of the planet on them.
- Isn’t there a better way to find the animal with the first color than just teleporting around and leaning on luck? Like, idk, research?
- Well done to what? The animals are still as chaotic as ever and seem to have gone back to being prickly to each other. Aaaaand, they’re fucking up the party.
- Okay, but to be fair, Critty told them not to touch and what did that woman do? She started petting her! Yeah, you had this coming, hon!
- Love how Marion and Oritel handled the situation, though! Real talent at dispersing the tension right there. I was looking forward to seeing them ever since the synopsis from last episode. At least they haven’t fucked up the two of them... yet.
- “[The fairy animals] aren’t used to formal settings” Then why did you bring them in a formal setting?????????????????????????????????
- Aren’t you on Oppositus? There opposites exist in harmony all the time! What is so weird about that?
- The creature of the rainbow mantle? Didn’t they have that in season 5 and the Winx had to save it from the Trix? Now they have to save it again? Also, don’t tell me that’s the one with the first color.
- Man, Butterflix is so fucking useless. How many battles have they won with it? Like, two? This is episode 19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- They already know that this is Kalshara’s doing!!!!!!!!!!! And wasn’t the collar supposed to not have worked?????????????????
- Chaos in the rainbow? Awesome! I mean, we already know it because this season (and the previous... three (more or less)) have been a fucking disaster but it’s good that Rainbow is giving some meta on itself!
- Musa, you look like you’re gonna faint! How can you handle this?
- Poor kitty! Stop torturing the cat! Why did none of the others join them so that they could pull them out after they’re done in case they’re too weak? But the two of them harmonizing to keep out the disharmony from outside was actually a pretty cool idea! This season hasn’t failed completely yet.
- Can I ask why the royal family of Oppositus even had the collar made? Seems like a colossally dumb choice!
- Finally they found someone to ask... And they have a riddle now! Goodie!
7x20:
- I still can’t guess which animal is the one that is “close to fairy power” and it’s driving me insane! Obviously, it isn’t any of their bonded animals (we even know it’s not Squonk and Amarok). My first guess was actually Kalshara but a) she was a person that changed magically and b) she can turn in many animals so that is just not it. My other guess was Kiko but that seems highly unlikely because he literally hasn’t been important since, like, season 3 when Bloom stopped actually spending time with him. So... I have no idea which one they’re talking about.
- Lmaoooo, another animal cock-blocking (sort of). XD And it is Sky and Bloom. XDDD Good! And Bloom is calling him out on it! Even better! And she left to go after Elas! I am dying of laughter.
- Wait, that seal was Kalshara? And they were none the wiser? ...Okay.
- Oh, no! Not the kid thing! How did the stones make them kids? What is this? Avengers: Endgame? Instead of taking Winx through time the Stones took time through Winx? And why do they still have the same hair? We know Bloom had much shorter hair when she was little!
- And they know that they are children? But lmao, little Bloom yelling after the others to listen to her as they scatter is what her “leadership” should have looked like. XD
- The Specialists really can’t recognize their girlfriends even though a) they literally look the exact same way and b) this has already happened to Brandon before!
- Omg, Butterflix worked! I was actually hoping that it would because Sky’s realization that he fucked up is priceless!
- Well, of course the animals recognized them! They can probably catch their scent or something. But wow, Winx are having the upper hand even when they’re children.
- Skipping the clownery during the song.
- DId Sky just call the little Winx “pests”?
- Well, that was fast. Both Kalshara getting defeated and Sky and Elas becoming best buds. And of course, Elas can also restore Winx as they were before.
- Lmao, Roxy is right that Winx shouldn’t be left to their own devices.
7x21:
- Don’t tell me they’re hosting a dog show. A fairy animal show. *sigh* But it is surprisingly on topic since the season is all about the fairy animals.
- What is Brafilius’ guilt that his sister scared the other dog? Why should he get hit over the head? Come on!
- Why does Kalshara need to get into Alfea? She just needs to find a way to get the fairy animals.
- You know they have nothing to do in an episode when they show the full Butterflix transformation.
- And now there’s pixie clownery because they literally don’t have anything to put in this episode. Cherie sure seems to have it all under control. (Did they even say why the weather has gone crazy? I skipped, like, half of this episode already.)
- They are really saying that they can’t handle a blizzard? Not like they have fought Stormy for five seasons! Not like they’re supposed to be more powerful than the pixies. At least they said why the weather is acting up.
- This is definitely not the weirdest place you have been, Stella. At least Amentia’s kingdom and Havram top it.
- Why are there so many different kinds of animals in this mini world? Oh. OH! I actually love this idea! Different species of animals looking after the different seasons according to the sun of whichever season is up! That is awesome! I am less so a fan of the fact that they had to ask why the animals are fighting when it was obvious that the wild magic was influencing them!
- Love how they still haven’t realized how to recognize which animal is Kalshara. But why are they surprised that the “digmole” said Faragonda’s name? They know she used to take care of a digmole!
7x22:
- Wait! Flashback of footage that we haven’t actually seen? Are you calling this vague memories?
- Yeah, no shit that Alfea has the most fairy magic in the whole universe!
- Omg, the statue is actually going to be important! The same statue that Faragonda didn’t bother explaining even though Bloom made a remark about it. And she even found it in the hall of fairy animals (or whatever). And it was right there the whole time?????? God, I hate this!
- Okay, the green animals in the diamond mini world? So obviously stolen from Pokemon. And the floating cutlery is screaming Beauty and the Beast. It even moves in the same way.
- Why is it surprising that they eat diamonds? Shiny eats diamonds as well!
- Why do we care about the diamonds?
- Oh, because the ultimate power is a diamond... that the king and queen would rather die for than give away. Amazing!
- Okay, an orchard of diamonds. We get it! It’s not that impressive! It looks like a normal orchard but it is all shiny! Moving on!
- Wtf how is Flora’s magic working on these! Diamonds are not living nature. I am tired of this episode.
- Oh, did you expect the Ultimate Power to be easy to control instead of volatile?
- So now Flora’s magic isn’t working because the plants are only half natural and the diamonds are resistant to magic? They seemed to be very magic absorbing and malleable a few seconds ago!
- It just popped into Kalshara’s hands. And Faragonda isn’t going to do anything to stop her. She’s just gonna wait for Winx. She is just about as useful and smart as she was when she was young in this season which was not much.
- Ooh, Brafilius is actually standing up to Kalshara! I like that! Tbh I have a feeling that he can stir more chaos because of how incompetent he is. He will do something wrong and it will backfire so hard that it will blow up in all their faces.
- How DID the Trix get here? What, they found their bonded FAIRY animals in the Legendarium and the connection pulled them out? Wtf? Also, why did the audio disappear on the last few lines. I didn’t hear what they said! Love how even the writers realized that they can’t pull off a good finale with just Brafilius and Kalshara, though, and were like “Yep, time to bring back the Trix!”
7x23:
- Secret of Alfea? What secret?
- Oh, Kalshara knows about them? But most powerful witches of the universe? I know the Ancestral Witches were destroyed but still. And look! My theory about how they got out was spot-on! It was just too damn easy... and dumb!
- The ultimate power is supposed to be... ultimate, you know! If Brafilius has it, they shouldn’t be able to defeat him. But nah.
- We already know that the animals can find them wherever. It was established earlier.
- Stella, it’s not you that’s ruining the moment. It’s the shaking cave threatening to collapse on you that’s ruining it!
- Why are Flora’s powers working when no one’s powers wanted to work before that, even her own?
- Hey, wait a second! Tynix was supposed to warp time so that while they’re in the mini worlds barely any time passes in the normal world. But now time seems to be moving with the same speed at both places! Because it is convenient for the plot!
- If an animal is bonded to you, you should be able to tell that what you’re holding is an impostor! Because the impostor is not bonded to you! That was literally so fucking dumb!
- IT CAN ALWAYS GET WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- “Did you miss us?” “Oh, yes. But after today, we’ll get to miss you forever!” Oh, damn! That was a glorious comeback! I am glad the Trix are back especially after this dumpster fire of a season and with this smarter behavior. But that’s because it wasn’t them failing all season long.
- Lmao, of course, Darcy’s animal is fighting Critty! Love how the Trix’ animals are 3-4 times the size of the Winx’.
- You’re not telling me Alfea’s power comes from the fairy animals? But wait! Alfea mini world? That might be interesting!
- It’s the world of butterflies? I should have known! So Butterflix can only be won on the territory of Alfea?
- If I were the Trix, I would just attack the magical source of Alfea and be done with it! See what Winx would do then!
- Come on, Bloom! Brafilius literally had the face of a dog all along! It shouldn’t be so hard to grasp that!
- Darcy was just about to destroy all of Alfea singlehandedly! And it was so cool and so intense! I was getting really hyped... and then Stella kinda stabilized things for enough time to let them get away. Dammit! It would have been cool to see them more in danger.
- Golden butterfly? I was gonna say that that would be a great chance for it to be Roxy’s bonded animal. Or even more perfect - Daphne’s! But they said that it lived long ago... Oh, so not that long ago. Faragonda was a teen back then so Daphne could have been born at the time (since she also didn’t age for about 20 years and is older than she looks). The butterfly could still be her bonded animal (but it most probably won’t be.)
7x24:
- Why do you care about the barrier? The problem is in the mini world at the heart of Alfea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- DAPHNE!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME BACK!
- Can Roxy do anything about the Trix’ animals? She is the fairy of all animals, after all. She should be able to communicate with them at the very least. Not that she could talk sense into them but still.
- For all his snobbery in the beginning of the season, Wizgiz isn’t doing all that well.
- Well, you’d hope that your husband will come help you out when the universe is threatened! Though, you’d think that there would be a whole army of Specialists sent to Alfea considering the high stakes of the situation.
- What defenses? The other fairies are the defenses and they still have their magic so it doesn’t seem to be that bad. At least until they can fix it.
- How did Faragonda get so much better at magic when it seems like there hasn’t passed that much time since Mavilla still hasn’t cast the memory wipe spell? And why couldn’t the animals introduce themselves? They can talk now! Or have the writers forgotten?!
- Daphne has new spells even if she doesn’t have a new transformation. Honestly, she has already been more useful than Winx were the whole season.
- Icy, you know very well who has the other stones! It is obvious! Even more so by the fact that Winx aren’t there to fight you! I knew that the Trix would notice the Stone and Brafilius would spill the beans, though! They couldn’t miss the opportunity to fuck shit up in the past as well.
- Lmaoooo @ Griselda passing out at the thought of Faragonda being the Headmistress of Alfea! XDDD She’s gonna have a fun time living through the future. But ooh, imagine the Trix going back in time and telling Faragonda about her future in order to fuck it up! That would be cool!
- Faragonda really is an idiot of a klutz in the past (and in this season - in the present too (without the klutz part... I think)).
- Is this a different mini world? Shouldn’t there be only one mini world in Alfea?
- Bug bunnies? Do I have to say that I heard Bugs bunnies at first?
- So the golden butterfly is sucking out the energy around for her metamorphosis.
- Why are Winx surprised the Trix were in the mini world when they already fought them in Alfea’s mini world?
- If I were Icy, I would fuck up the butterfly but we can’t have that!
- Why did they spoil the cliffhanger in the synopsis for the next episode? Not that we didn’t know that Bloom wasn’t going to get impaled on the ice but still.
7x25:
- This scene reminds me of a Kim Possible episode. Except, Kim saved herself.
- Oh, so now Elas’ power evolved even more? Of course, it did! They need to be upgraded constantly because no one bother to improve through practice anymore.
- How did that attack not send Icy into oblivion?
- Oh! A Tynix spell that isn’t tied to one of their home worlds! Go, Tecna!
- Hatched? Does a cocoon hatch? I honestly don’t know when it comes to English. But the butterfly isn’t really that beautiful. It looks like something a child cut out from a sheet of paper. Golden paper but still paper.
- Wasn’t the butterfly supposed to work in their favor? How come its actions were what threw Brafilius back in the hands of the Trix?
- “Are we lost in some other when?” XDDD  But how tf did they get back without using the memory stones? Goddammit! At least keep the bare minimum of consistency!!!
- They won’t escape us, he says as if they didn’t just get defeated by the “they” that do no need escape because they have the power advantage.
- Don’t the other fairies learn History of Magic? They should know about the Trix and what their powers are at the very least so they don’t act so stupid against Darcy.
- Stormy’s Occula is the only one from the Trix’ animals whose name I can even hear!
- Daphne is beating Icy! But damn, she got defeated when Icy got help from her animal. See? This is why Daphne needed to have an animal bonded to her!
- Why is Faragonda sending Grsielda on roundup duty instead of using her in the battle? Griselda is one of her strongest fighters!
- I thought it would be Kalshara that snagged Brafilius away but nope! He just can’t shake the Trix and their animals!
- Oh, so Roxy can sense that that is the dgmole that is connected to Faragonda but Faragonda herself couldn’t? And she acts like she has never heard of an aura? Man, they really brought her down this season, didn’t they?
- Really? A party now? Man, there really isn’t much plot in this season, is there?
- Well, seeing Daphne and Thoren together is actually kinda cute. We don’t get to really see any of the married couples. Which is stupid because they legit act the same way that Winx and their boyfriends do. Like, Daphne and Thoren are literally doing the same things!
- Don’t tell me Stella is jealous because Brandon is dancing with Shiny. But aww @ Kiko and Tecna’s bunny eating so much stuff together. XD I like the idea of the two bunnies being friends and it kinda relates to Bloom and Tecna’s friendship (that we haven’t really seen since season 5 and we haven’t had a good scene since season 3).
- I knew Kalshara wasn’t coming for a fight. She couldn’t beat them alone even if she tried. Especially when Daphne is also with them.
- Oh, wow! The Trix are fighting something that isn’t Winx? And their animals having their backs is actually pretty cute, too!
- Don’t tell me that they actually believe Kalshara wants to save Brafilius. I mean, if it’s true, that would be the best twist they’ve had all season but I somehow can’t imagine it.
7x26:
- “Can we trust you?” What do you think that she’ll say? No? There is literally not a case in which she’s gonna say “no” which means that you can’t take her answer for an honest one. Wtf?! Please, tell me that they’ll be mindful at the very least and ready to be double crossed.
- Why, of course, Icy’s animal would be called Frostbite. I should have guessed.
- See? Brafilius is actually the smarter sibling! He knows better than to get mixed up with wild magic.
- I knew that they were gonna show the whole Butterflix transformation. For the last time. It still doesn’t mean that I’m watching it.
- Winx act like they haven’t seen the way Kalshara treats Brafilius. But it was still kinda cute how relieved he was to see her.
- Stella is right. The Trix have not looked worse... yet. But wasn’t Brafilius with Kalshara. How did the Trix get him back again?
- Cat!Darcy vs cat!Kalshara is actually kinda cool. And the Trix did turn into shapeshifting witches! But does Kalshara only have the handful of forms we have already seen? Can’t she transform in anything else?
- One last hug? Don’t tell me Winx will merge with their animals as well! But damn, this talk about Winx standing no chance is getting depressing.
- Don’t tell me that the animals will merge with each other to form the damn swan!!!!!!!!
- “rulers of nature”? Wow, really? The power has totally gone to your head and you need to calm down!
- What are they gonna do with the stones? Oh, trap Trix out of time? That’s actually... pretty smart... and intense.
- Man, I feel bad about the Trix. But what about Brafilius and Kalshara?
- Kalshara really thought that she was gonna get away with the ultimate power? But why do the wild magic animals care about manners and Brafilius? Oh, well, it’s cute that he actually has someone to like and accept him. It was actually Kalshara’s idea to even make him turn into a half animal. He didn’t want that. He just wanted her to love him.
- The goodbye of the fairy animals was actually pretty emotional! If the season had been done better, this could have been such a tearjerker! If they’d actually bothered to show how the animals bonded both with each other and with Winx but that really wasn’t driven home.
- Oh, no! Why did they bring back the band again?! We really didn’t need that.
Well, this season was annoying as hell at times but it actually had some really cool concepts... that, of course, failed upon execution. I kinda liked it better than season 6, though, and I am not even sure why. Maybe because I had less expectations and they were topped more often than my expectations were for season 6. Really, the Legendarium was a great concept that they just completely and utterly failed to utilize while there wasn’t that much potential with the fairy animals but from time to time, the writers really came up with some great idea. Brafilius’ “arc” had a surprisingly touching end and so did that of the fairy animals. I don’t think Winx learned shit this season and they were completely useless - but hey, not much more can be said about them in season 6 either so... What I’m saying is that this season wasn’t as bad as the posts I have seen floating around the fandom had made me believe it would be. Though, don’t get me wrong, there were a couple of moments that I wish I could erase forever.

“The Battle for Magix” Thoughts
I am pretty hyped about this because of how good the previous special was and because the events it is supposed to cover are my favorite part of season 1 of Winx Club. This should be intense due to the nature of the events it will have to depict so I am anxious to see how they’ve done. Fingers crossed that this will deliver!
- I am actually pretty glad we didn’t see that conversation between Winx about going to get Bloom because it was annoying to me (and it wouldn’t make sense considering they never got punished for the Day of the Royals). Besides, this works well even without it since Bloom didn’t tell Winx she was leaving so it was only natural for Stella to go look for her.
- I like the lack of dialogue as they enter Alfea. Appropriate with the heaviness of the situation and also removed that line of Stella’s about “this could be the end of the world”. Considering what we’ve seen from the Trix already, I think the threat that they are is coming through even without being spelled out for the audience.
- Well, the conversation with Faragonda was trimmed significantly but I actually don’t mind. It got the important bits in and I think the way Faragonda’s reasoning from keeping this from Bloom was worded a bit better here than in the original. Plus, they already thought of contacting Griffin which nobody thought of in the original. Not that they’ll have the time to do it but still.
- There were some weird pauses in the scene with the Trix fighting Griffin and almost all the dialogue was completely abolished for some reason. Also, I was going to screech at Griffin’s initial reaction to seeing them because they aren’t supposed to be expelled in this but from her words, I guess she was just outraged that they’d been nowhere to be found the last... At least two days? I suppose that could work but the other witches’ reactions didn’t make much sense. I like the way Icy’s ice encased Griffin in this one, though. It looks much more solid than it did in the original. Also, the fact that Icy totally steps on the ice in her heels that almost says “Yeah, she can walk on ice in stilettos and still be regal as fuck.” XD
- “I am not a fairy. I’m not anything anymore.” Aw, baby no! What have these specials done to me? I actually feel pretty bad for Bloom?! Now there’s a surprise. I guess I just feel that the way her guilt is portrayed is realistic to me and I also wish that she wouldn’t dismiss herself like that. She was something before she discovered she has powers so this is not true. But please, tell me they won’t be going to Domino!
- Why did Riven have to go to Cloud Tower if he and Darcy can communicate from afar? But besides that, I LOVE what they have done to this scene! I love how Riven had no idea why they were in Griffin’s office and the way he instantly was like “Well, I’m fucked. Everything is wrong.” This is so much better than the original! And the confrontation was intense even if it was a bit shorter than it was originally.
- Eh, I hope they’re gonna say something more about the Army of Darkness/Decay. They aren’t even calling it that and I will be disappointed if they don’t say it is made up of everything that has rotted in the past 1000 years because that was one of the best ideas I have ever seen.
- Why were the creatures attacking Knut? Or was it that he was simply in the way? I like that Saladin wasn’t that suspicious of him in this one but they really sped through this scene. There was hardly any room to breathe and the tension could’ve used a few more moments to build. Also, Knut’s sudden change of heart was indeed very sudden since we never saw him past the first special. In s1 there was a bit of a gradual change in him before he decided to leave the Trix. Oh, and the mention of his mother that he wanted to protect wasn’t in this which was sad because it gave him character, some kind of miniature backstory and motivation.
- Oh, they actually kinda prepared for the battle? And Saladin gave a motivational speech that resonated with the Specialists? Instead of, you know, “whoever survives passes the semester”? I am on board with that. But damn, I guess there is no barricading yourself when the things just appear from the ground. Also, I am living for this guy:
Tumblr media
- Ah, I see mini Ogron is also here:
Tumblr media
- Knut’s save was cool but there is no end to the creatures. I also liked Saladin using his magic but Red Fountain still fell. However, I feel like that will prompt Bloom to go to Cloud Tower to look for her powers so no Domino. Yay!
- *screams* The scene where Diaspro comes to take Sky from Red Fountain was missing! I sure hope that means that she was the one to dump his sorry ass! You go, girl! You deserve better! (I just hope they won’t say something else later on. Leave me in my land of make-believe, will you?)
- Why does everyone have flames in their eyes? I get it that the Trix have the Dragon Fire now but what’s your excuse about Faragonda? I know the situation is dire and they are all “aflame” with both worry and determination but chill with the “Eyes on Fire”.
- “Hey, kiddo”? XDDD I’m dying. I never thought I would hear Griffin say that. I like this scene, though. I like that there was some student-teacher interaction, especially since Riven isn’t Griffin’s student. And him wanting to help her both with getting out and blaming herself was just adorable. They have trimmed this one a bit from its original, too, but I get why that is necessary. And they removed that detail about Griffin using magic to help Riven pick the lock which has always annoyed me so much. Are you seriously telling me that Riven can’t pick a lock on his own?!?!?! Really?
- Well, I’m glad they removed the “Riven is the living Red Fountain manual” part. And they showed him falling from the window? Nice! But omg!!!!!!!!! Are you seriously telling me Sky just sensed that Riven was in trouble?!?!?!?! That is, like, only the basis of the true love/soulmates connection. I said what I said. Or rather the writers said what they said.
- Sky just called Bloom a lunatic. Great! I am a bit sulky about the fact that the tunnels between the schools were only mentioned now (since they cut all the times they were used before). It would have made this smoother and not seeming like it just popped out of nowhere. But awwww! at Stella being so ready to go with Bloom. I just don’t like that we still haven’t seen the rest of Winx this episode.
- I kinda agree with Stella on Knut getting his shit together. 14 near death experiences in 30 minutes is A LOT.
- Bloom’s Earth powers are coming in again! It is said that we won’t have them dubbed as such here (since I think that happened while they were on Domino in s1).
- Okay, but the fact that they skipped the trip to Domino does one big disservice to all this and that is that Bloom and Sky originally reconciled on the way back from Domino and here that never happened.
- Ugh, again with the “we’ve been friends with this person for years but we can’t recognize their voice for some fucking reason”. I hate it when they do that in movies/shows. Unless you have a cognitive condition, you should be able to recognize people’s voices.
- I can’t decide which is dumber - the original s1 “my cape is aerodynamic so I survived the fall’ or this one’s “it was just luck that he didn’t break anything”.
- Prince “I’m glad to have you back” Sky aka Riven’s boyfriend. I don’t make the rules here.
- Didn’t Bloom say that the Trix wouldn’t expect them? Because they sure look like they expected them.
- Riven deliberately went looking for Griffin? I like that change! And it actually makes sense.
- Well, he found her. Three seconds later. This right here doesn’t make sense because she would’ve had to have been very close in order to arrive to the room so soon after Bloom and the rest did. Not to mention that there was none of the dialogue here. They really butchered that scene. And removed some of the next ones. Though, I guess they weren’t that crucial.
- At least they removed the “enter the portal in alphabetical order” part that was just stupid. But I still don’t like the fact that Bloom decided to stay with Sky (it is kinda out of place since they haven’t resolved their relationship drama here but they act like they have and I know that is not the most important thing right now but still) and both Griffin and Stella allowed it. This is stupid from a tactical point of view. If Bloom gets caught, they won’t have a chance to stop the Army of Decay without her to get her powers back. And Stella just left her behind? Yeah, right.
- Where were these magical blasts coming from? The Trix were still back in Cloud Tower but that magic appeared to come from the front. That was kinda nonsensical. But damn, what a crash.
- Wasn’t it dark when the witches entered the portal? Why are they only arriving now? The idea of a portal is to transport you instantly, you know? Bloom and Stella got from Alfea to CT faster on foot.
- Sky even sounds like an asshole. Like, the tone of his voice is asshole-ish. And he called Bloom crazy again. I cannot stand him.
- Why didn’t they bring Mirta to Faragonda or Griselda? I am sure that they could have reversed the spell Icy put on her. She didn’t even have Dragon Fire back then. That spell can’t be so strong.
- “They’re ganging up on us”? You destroyed Red Fountain and took over Cloud Tower. It was only logical that they would all gather at Alfea. What else were they supposed to do?
- At least they got rid of “the Invisible Road” that made no sense at all.
- Am I supposed to root for Sky and even be impressed by him? Yeah, I don’t think so.
- They also removed the first wave of attack against Alfea. I know they don’t have much time but that’s kinda disappointing. Well, nothing to do about it.
- Well, the crown of Domino is not Bloom’s birthright. It is Daphne’s. But now that she’s more or less dead, Bloom is the only living heir of Domino that is left. There is a difference, though.
- I wish Bloom would have left Sky to deal with it on his own. And yes, I know he couldn’t have.
- Darcy and Stormy never gave Icy their Dragon Fire in this one, though. So they should have been able to break out of Griffin and Faragonda’s prison since they still had the most powerful magic in the universe. Come on, people! And Darcy waited until that tornado was right in front of her to start running instead of getting out of its way the moment she saw it was out of control and heading in her direction.
- Oh, damn! There’s some real fury in the battle between Icy and Bloom. From both sides. But it’s obvious that ice can’t defeat fire. As long as Bloom has her flames, Icy can’t defeat her.
- Okay, this was actually more intense than the original. And it was the wave of Dragon Fire energy coming off of Bloom that destroyed the monsters instead of them just disappearing once the Trix were defeated? That was a solid change.
- What are those shackles that Darcy and Stormy are wearing? Those look kinda... painful.
- “Here you go, Miss Faragonda”? Did Bloom just give Icy to Faragonda like “now you can handle this from here”? Omg, what a power move!
- That sentencing them to Lightrock scene was kinda... meh. I mean, I think I prefer the original. This just had a weird feeling to it. Also, why is Icy’s makeup running? Did Bloom’s flames make it melt off or what?
- Bloom and Sky are kissing? Why? They never resolved the Diaspro drama. I hate this part.
- They dropped the part where Bloom was looking for her origins. She still has no idea what happened to her parents and she didn’t even think about it. I get how that went to the background once the Dragon Fire was stolen from her but they should have brought it up in that last part when she was telling Sky that she was thinking about everything. She sure wasn’t thinking about her parents. And it should have occurred to her after meeting with Daphne.
Well, idk if it is the fact that some of the battle scenes were missing or that they really cut down on some of the others, but I didn’t really feel it in this episode. And Musa, Flora and Tecna were barely in it (but they still wasted time on the ugly transformation sequences). Objectively speaking, this had almost all the elements necessary for the plot to come to a logical ending. There were two or three huge things that were left out that really make some of this nonsensical but, overall, I guess it was okay. I didn’t really like it as much as the previous one and I can’t even say why. Some of the original feel of tension was lost to me, I suppose. Let’s see what the last special will deliver.
