So pissed rn. Everyone only remembers Aaron Burr for shooting Hamilton (who totally had it coming). Why can't we talk about how much he loved his daughter? Or his feminist ideals? Instead everyone talks about the duel or his supposed plan to conquer Mexico (WHICH WAS NEVER EVEN CONFIRMED IT WAS A CONSPIRACY THEORY) bc they just wanna keep painting him as a villain and ignore the fact that he was a very honorable person. He paid for the education of various children and wrote them into his will as his own; he let a DYING mother and child into his home and gave them food despite being total strangers to him; he believed women should have the same education as men, personally oversaw his daughter's education, and she ended up becoming the most educated woman of her time. He outlived his parents, sister, wife, multiple children, his GRANDSON, and his daughter whom he loved more than ANYTHING. So before you judge him based on ONE mistake he made in his lifetime, do some research.

Special Someone on the Side
"You're very kind but I'm afraid it's unlawful, sir." "What do you mean?" "She's married." "I see." "She's married to a British officer." "Oh shit."
No one asked for it, but here are my thoughts on this interaction:
There are things between the lines!
and I wrote them.
Enjoy :)
Hamburr friendship :3 (mentioned hamiliza and lams) 629 words.
It was a pleasant night after Hamilton’s wedding. Eliza was bidding her family goodbye while he was supposed to do the same with his friends, but here they were, getting even more drunk.
Burr showed up, seemingly failing to have talked to Alexander during the event and was trying his best to ignore the boys and their teasing.
He was almost done congratulating Hamilton on his marriage and his position as aide-de-camp to Washington, when Laurens deemed the subject too boring and changed it.
“Well, well, I heard,” He got uncomfortably close to Burr. “You got a special someone on the side, Burr.” He shot Alexander a sneaky glance.
“Is that so?” Hamilton laughed at his boyfriend's antics.
“What’re you tryna hide, Burr?” Laurens slurred in Burr’s ear who’d reached his limit.
“I should go.”
Hamilton instantly disagreed. “No, these guys should go.”
“What?” Laurens turned to Hamilton in thinly veiled betrayal. “No!”
“Leave us alone.” Hamilton gave him a pointed look. I’m getting us the gossip.
“Man!” Laurens rolled his eyes fondly, grabbing Lafayette and Mulligan as they stalked away, resigned.
Being with Hamilton alone seemed to make Burr slightly nervous.
“It’s alright, Burr.” Alexander smiled a little. “I wish you’d brought this girl with you tonight.” Hamilton couldn’t help seeing that Burr was lacking a plus one at the wedding.
“You’re very kind,” Burr looked down, fidgeting with the handkerchief in his hand. Hamilton spotted the initials T.B.P. Now who could that belong to? The special someone on the side, perhaps? “But I’m afraid it’s unlawful, sir.”
Oh?
Is it?
In what way?
Hamilton found himself thinking of his nights with Laurens, in their tent, under the cover of night.
Had Burr also found a lad during their battles?
“What do you mean?” Hamilton asked, a light tone and a smirk emerging with the words. If Burr was going to confess something, he wanted him to know he’d be accepted.
“She’s married.”
Oh. Hamilton deflated. “I see.”
No matter, they might still be able to work around this. Burr could be with his beau regardless. With a simple divorce, or even a duel for the lady’s honor, it could be manageable. As long as she isn’t—
“She’s married to a British officer.”
“Oh shit.”
Hamilton hadn’t realized he’d said it outloud until he heard Burr chuckle self-deprecatingly.
“Congrats again, Alexander.” Burr turned to go but Hamilton’s mind was still reeling.
There must still be a way for his friend and the one he loves to be together.
“Smile more.” Burr was walking away.
They could be happy and in love and together without a random British officer in their way.
“I’ll see you on the other side of the war.” Wait, what? He’ll simply give up like that?
“I will never understand you.” Hamilton found himself saying.
Burr turned around, confused. They were alone on the terrace, the quiet lull of people leaving the building could be heard distantly.
“If you love this woman, go get her!” Yes, he might lose his head in the process, but for love! Isn’t he willing to risk everything to get what he wants? “What are you waiting for?”
Burr eyed Alexander carefully, trying to discern something before he sighed. “I’ll see you on the other side of the war.”
He’s beyond saving. Hamilton sighed back, resigned. “I’ll see you on the other side of the war.”
When Washington had finally given him a command, Hamilton made sure to wound and kill every single British officer he came into contact with.
To this day, he’s not sure if he did kill Theodosia’s late-husband personally, but she’s living happily with Burr in married bliss and having Hamilton and his wife over for tea and biscuits weekly.
So Burr won anyway.

Can you tell me about Theodosia Burr Jr?
Doing research for this made me cry, so thanks.
Theodosia Burr was born on June 21, 1783 to Theodosia Prevost Burr and Aaron Burr, who heavily supervised her education. She wasn't trained in the traditional way girls were taught, aside from things like French, music, dancing, and rules of society. She was well educated in arithmetic, languages and English literature. She was highly intelligent, and spoke four languages by the age of 12.
Unfortunately, her mother died when she was 10, and spent most of her time in New York as Burr's closest confidante. During this time, he put particular emphasis on her social training, and at 14 she began serving as hostess at his country estate, Richmond Hill. She threw lavish parties there during the rise of Burr's political career, just like her mother. By the way, Hamilton was in regular attendance of these parties.
She married Joseph Alston on February 1, 1801, and they both genuinely loved each other, but the arrangement also posed a financial benefit, since Aaron "Bad Financial Decision" Burr was running out of money. They had their honeymoon at Richmond Hill, then traveled to see Burr's inauguration as Vice President together. Then, they settled down at Alston's home, The Oaks, in South Carolina.
Theodosia often missed New York and her father while she was living here, especially after Alston was elected to the state House of Representatives, and spent much time away from home.
She eventually gave birth to Aaron Burr Alston, but it was a difficult process that resulted in debilitating medical problems, which left her infertile and with recurring illness.
Throughout her father's trials and scandals, she completely supported him, insisting on his innocence and rejoicing at his acquittals.
Her son died in June 1816 at age 10 of malaria, and she went into a deep depression, which was only made worse by the absence of her beloved father, who had fled to Europe because of the whole almost-treason thing.
Burr returned to the US in 1812, and convinced Theodosia to visit him in New York. Alston was hesitant since the war between America and Britain had begun and her health was fragile- he also had been elected as governor so couldn't travel with her. Since she was insistent on going, as she hadn't seen her father in five years, Alston ensured her safety by way of the navy, and Burr sent a friend, Timothy Green, who was a physician, to travel with her.
Theodosia was to sail aboard the Patriot, and departed on December 31, 1812. However, the boat disappeared without a trace.
Both her husband and father were inconsolable. Friends attempted to cheer up Burr with the possibility that she was captured, to which he replied, "No, no, she is indeed dead. Were she still alive, all the prisons in the world could not keep her from her father." Despite this, he still sent people to search for her.
There's a lot of speculation about the disappearance of the Patriot, but I think the most likely is the most common: so much could go wrong on the open sea in the 19th century. It likely sank due to a storm or some other natural event. Here's a Library of Congress article if you want more details on the voyage and Theodosia.

I don't want to meet any historical figure ever. I hate meeting strangers. I want to be a fly on the wall at that one dinner party where Aaron Burr was smitten by Theodosia Prevost's ability to insult a rude guest in the form of an impromptu poem.

Summary: Prompt: Since John died and Martha went back to England, Alexander and Eliza are half a marriage. Meanwhile, Aaron and Theodosia are uninterested in anyone else and tired of waiting. Letter, 1773 February 7, Breda, Holland, Jacques Prevost to John Laurens
“Dear Sir
Looking over my accounts of last Year I found to my great Surprise that I had paid the Post Chaise I bought of your Father last summer neither to him nor to yourself Indeed I am much ashamed of such an oversight and Neglect which I can ascribre to no other Cause than to the Distemper and its consequences under which I have laboured almost to the Day of my Departure.
I beg you will apologize for me will Colonel Lawrence and let me know where I can find him in London to repare that Omission.
I shall be glad to hear that you continue to be pleased with your Brother's and your own Situation at Geneva. I beg you will remember me to M. Chais and his Lady with my kindest Comp(limen)ts I have had lately an oblyging Letter from his father and the Pague.
Please to direct for me at Mep_ Ross and Gray Condwil Street London I hope to be there in a fortnights or there about.
I am with great Truth
Dear Sir
Your most Obed. & Hum: Servt.
Prevost”
Jacques Prevost was a member of the Swiss family the Prevost, they during war supported British army sending soldiers. Considering the amount of time where Henry Laurens used to make friendships with Swiss people it's not a surprise that was the way Jacques and John met.
According to the Henry Laurens papers, his brother was Jacques Marc Prevost (1736 - 1781) and he was stationed in South Carolina during 1763, the time he know HL. And apparently he married Theodosia Barton in 1763 but he died in Jamaica (wow) and then Theodosia married Aaron Burr and well, became the better known Theodosia Burr.
The person from this letter, Jacques Prevost (1725 - 1776) served in America during many years, time where he met prominent people like HL. He married the daughter of the governor on Holland, Anne, he retired to England for his health and then installed in Breda.
However this letter is interesting in the way it shows the responsbilities of John Laurens as elder son and a little view of his help like "right hand man" of his father, even if it was for so little details like this one.

I Don't Really Like You - REBOOT
by consumemysoul
"No." She decided. No, she doesn't like him at all. In fact, she hates him!
Alexander Hamilton had come into her life a few years ago and Angelica had tried her best to ignore his presence.
But with her stupid luck, her sister is obviously head over heels for him.
And she obviously asked Angelica to be the maid of honor at her wedding. And obviously Angelica did it.
Because it meant her sister would be happy. And she would do anything for Eliza's happiness.
Even if it means pretending to like the Devil himself.

Aaron Burr’s Speculated Second Wife, Mary Emmons
I wanted to do some research into Mary Emmons, the governess with whom Burr had two children. Emmons was born in India in the 1760′s, moved to Haiti, and then was “most likely brought from Haiti to North America by James Marcus Prevost, the first husband of Theodosia Prevost.”
Mary Emmons stayed in Philadelphia, at the house Burr stayed while a senator. She and Burr had two children, Louisa Charlotte born in 1788 and John Pierre born in 1792. Theodosia knew about these children, and “in some of her letters, Theodosia Prevost Burr refers to a child as “Lou,” “Louise,” and “Louisa.” It’s impossible to say what they dynamic of this relationship was--from what I know, in many ways it was normal for gentleman to take mistresses, so long as they were discreet about it.
Taking into account that Theodosia was on her second marriage, with some rumored illicit relationship with Burr before her husbands death, it seems to me that she would have taken a liberal approach to marriage, and that their relationship could have been in some sense open--(conjecture). Regardless, she knew about the children, and wrote about them on a number of occasions. Additionally, Theodosia’s children and Emmons’ children seemed to be acquainted, and wrote of each other fondly--”In one of Louisa Charlotte’s letters, she asked Burr Jr. to send a miniature of her “beloved Theodosia” so that her brother could copy it for her.”
Burr also seemed quite fond of the children. In the article Aaron Burr Jr. and John Pierre Burr: A Founding Father and his Abolitionist Son, published by Princeton university,  Sherri Burr writes “Louisa Charlotte Burr wrote several letters to Col. Burr, which he saved.” Additionally, there is some speculation that Burr married Mary Emmons after the death of Theodosia. As Burr’s did not marry his third wife, Eliza Jumel, until 1833, (a year after Emmons’ death), this certainty seems possible;
Although John Pierre was sometimes referred to as Colonel Burr’s “illegitimate son” or “natural son” during his lifetime, according to Harvard-educated historian and JPB third great-grandson, Dr. Allen Ballard, Burr Jr. actually married Mary Emmons in Haiti following the death of his wife Theodosia.[44] Such a marriage would have legitimized both John Pierre and Louisa Charlotte. Ballard’s mother, a JPB second great-granddaughter witnessed the destruction of the marriage certificate by her Aunt Doll,[45] a JPB great-granddaughter, who had become upset that few relatives were interested in the family’s history.
