i was inspired by @allwaswell16 who does monthly fic recommendations (and much, much more)! i do not have the executive function abilities to do that - i admire her for being able to do so, and just in general, really, but i am in the middle of making a fav fics and fav ao3 writers masterpost, and i’ve *been* in the middle of that since december lol. so, i figured, for now i’d just do a smaller post of fics (this was originally intended to be a *much* shorter post) i’ve been reading these past few weeks that i’ve been loving & fics that i’ve been rereading as well!

Secrets, Santa? By @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 19K) disaster gay Harry in all his bumbling, endearing glory still manages to make his incredibly hot boss (Louis) fall for him. This one has snappy dialogue, great internal monologue, and scorching smut. I’d expect nothing less from this author.

Single Bells Ring by nonsensedarling / @absoloutenonsense (M, 17K) This was so much fun and the banter was absolutely brilliant. I loved their back and forth and how Harry kept Louis on the edge, never being 100% sure Harry was into him, until the very end.

Literally Making Love by Brooklyn_Babylon / @twopoppies (E, 30K)

Holding up one of the android's eyes to the workshop’s windows, he smiled as the light picked up the gold flecks in the pale green of his irises. Louis had always paid attention to even the tiniest details.

Fine Line by bananaheathen (T, 5K) Have I mentioned I love this author? The dialogue and banter in this is top notch. Just a delightful fic that feels perfect at 5K, and at the same time I wish there was 100K more.

Ain’t That A Kick In The Head! by keysmashlesbian, wreckingtonlinson (karasunonolibero) (T, 22K) I’ve recc’d this before, but the relationship between the 5 of them is so well done and so funny. Plus, Harry as a disaster gay never fails to make me giggle. (Link is to a download).

Help! (I Need Somebody) by orphan_account (E, 2K) This one is just hilarious and even though I’ve read it multiple times, I still laugh every time. Probably because it feels like something that would have actually happened!

Be My Little Good Luck Charm by 100percentsassy (E, 35K) First of all, great pacing and sexual tension. Snappy, witty dialogue. Sexy smut scenes. I’ve read this one a few times and like it more each time.

Is This Seat Taken? by Lainy122 (E, 36K) Famous/not famous. Light, funny, I really enjoyed how Louis keeps Harry on his toes throughout this one.

24K Magic by @justalittlelouislove (E, 33K) This author writes such good dialogue – always snappy and sharp. I really, really enjoy this one and have read it multiple times.

On the Go by phdmama / @phd-mama (T, 3K) One of my favorite hilarious mix up meet cute fics. Such a cute one.

i try my best to unwind (nothing but you on my mind) by resurrectdead / @artxghoul (E, 16K) this is honestly just pure smut and silliness. But I love the way this author writes their banter. Good times.

Change My Needs by zarah5 (M, 13K) Even writing fluffy cuteness, this author wins me over every time. One of the few writers who doesn’t make me miss smut and a fic that make me want to fall in love all over again.

Have a Nice Trip by @kingsofeverything (E, 6K) I didn’t know I needed horny Harry tripping on ‘shrooms, but I definitely did! This is really funny and sweet. Definitely a quarantine pick me up.

It’s the Little Things in Life that Mean the Most by @realitybetterthanfiction (T, 8K) I really adore this shapeshifter fic and the way the boys take care of each other. This author always writes terrific dialogue and it really makes this one a pleasure.

and last but not least a finnpoe fic! doubt thou the stars are fire by linatrinch. i read this once many, many moons ago and it made me feel so much that im still in awe of it. this is the only star wars fic ive ever read and god it was truly something (honestly i can't even say if id enjoy this anymore but this left such an impression on me that im just gonna rec it anyways)

These Inconvenient Fireworks by mdasch & everydayslike (E, 190K) Ok, I know this is a fic that almost everyone knows, but it’s the real OG and it truly has some of the best banter ever.

let me make a thing of cream and stars by missandrogyny (E, 25K) This fic is just lighthearted and fun and I love the way they tease each other in this one.

In Dreams by dolce_piccante (M, 24K) I know this author has much more popular fics, but I’ve always found this one particularly charming. I love the way Louis coaxes Harry out of his shell with his sense of humor and romantic persistence.

The Finish Line (Is A Good Place For Us To Start) by LoadedGunn (E, 122K) An oldie, but a great one – especially with you want banter and ot5 friendship. And a really good story. And some hot smut.

like a simile, i paint suggestive pictures (of me and you) by dangerbears (15K, NR) I love the bantering in this one, it’s so funny! Plus it has great Nouis and Zouis friendships.

gorgeous (it makes me so mad) by resurrectdead / @artxghoul (E, 30K) I yelled about this one a couple of months ago. The banter is great, lots of flirting, Harry’s a bit of a disaster gay, the smut scenes are super hot. It’s such a fun read.

to hell with romancing by @bottomlinsons (E, 8K) I’m not sure if you’d exactly put this in the “banter category”, but Harry’s internal monologue in this is just hilarious. I might read this again tonight, come to think of it.

Laundry Room by beautlouis / @thelovejandles (E, 10K) It’s been a little while since I read this one, but I do remember a great internal monologue, sweet flirting, and a super hot smut scene!

Right Side of the Wrong Bed by eyesofshinigami (E, 11K) I read this ages ago (when my bookmarking system basically consisted of “I LOVE THIS!”), but I do remember it being funny, sexy, and having great banter. I really enjoy this author’s writing, so if you like this one, check their others out.

Is This Seat Taken? by Lainy122 (E, 36K) Famous/not famous. Light, funny, I really enjoyed how Louis keeps Harry on his toes throughout this one.
