“We're going to win this war not by fighting what we hate,
but saving what we love!”
I’m going to tell you why I can’t get over this scene, which is my favorite of the entire movie: Ben never had as much of his father’s heart in him as he has here. He leads Rey to Snoke, already determined to kill him, but without having planned exactly how to do it and bearing in mind that they have little chance to survive. Don’t forget that he is terrified of dying, or worse... of seeing Rey, the love of his life, dying. He would want to reassure her that he is not going to kill her and to make her understand that she can really trust him, but he can’t. If he makes evident, even to her, what is really going to do... they will be fucked... and despite all of this, while he’s struggling with himself, what he has the courage to do? He improvises... just like a Solo could have done... ‘cause he will rise as Skywalker, but you can be certain... he’ll do it in Solo’s style.
