Hi 😊 would you do a Damon Salvatore imagine where you’re dating but one time after a fight you get in a car accident and get hurt badly. Damon feels this and searches for you, just to find you in time to save your life. He then stays with you, taking care of your wounds until you wake up again. Then he apologizes and promises to protect you and never get you hurt again ? Just some really cute fluff with this cutie. Thank you dear ☺️

You are riding in a car with your boyfriend when it all breaks down. The two of you were sent out of Mystic Falls to go chase down the latest lead on the latest mess to befall your friends, and what should have been a fun trip has quickly turned into a thunderstorm brewing at the edges of a perfect day.
The two of you have been dead silent for the past twenty minutes, which is never a good sign. Contrary to what he likes to pretend, Damon Salvatore is never one to keep quiet. He likes to rattle off bad jokes like bullets from a gun, or at least offer up sarcastic remarks on anything and everything that crosses his mind. If he’s keeping mum, then he must be able to pick up on the tension more than you thought, which means this is bad.
He breaks eventually, as you’d assumed. Thirty minutes to the border of Mystic Falls, Damon can’t take it any longer, and turns to you with a sigh.
“Listen, sweetheart, are you going to tell me what’s going on or not? I haven’t had someone try this hard to avoid me since I killed Jeremy for, like, the twentieth time.”
You laugh dryly. “I’m not avoiding you, I’m in the exact same car as you. We’re at most three feet apart.”
Damon groans. “You’re going to make this difficult, aren’t you? Well, fine. You’re not avoiding me, you’re just avoiding conversation. Can you tell me what’s wrong, at least?”
You tilt your head towards him, making sure to stare extra hard at the stretch of white t-shirt poking out from his favorite black leather jacket. “You have blood on your collar.”
Damon nods, intentionally slowly so you can feel every second of his impatience. “Yes, I’m a vampire. It happens often.”
You nod back, just as sarcastically. “Yeah, and I know for a fact that you brought one blood bag on this trip and drank it one state back. The only source of blood you had would be the waitresses at the diner we stopped at two hours ago.”
Damon freezes slightly, and even though he tries to play it off, you know you’ve struck on the truth. “Interesting point.”
You fold your arms across your chest. “Now you’re the one making this difficult. You swore to me that you didn’t eat from any of the staff there, because you were ‘trying to be better’ and ‘you only ate from bad people, like a subdued Stefan.’”
Damon hums, looking pointedly at the road so he doesn’t have to face your wrath. “I’m glad that you remember my words so well. It means I’m really important to you.”
You fight the urge to roll your eyes. “We’ve been dating for a year, I’d say you are really important to me. That’s not the point, though. The point is that you lied to me about not feeding on those waitresses, because otherwise you wouldn’t have a very suspicious bloodstain on your previously clean shirt.”
Damon shifts uncomfortably in his seat. “Great work, Sherlock Holmes. You got me. Now, do I have to say that I’m sorry if we both know it won’t be true?”
You throw a hand in the air, frustrated. “I’m not bothered by the fact that you were feeding on people, Damon, we’ve been over this like a thousand times. What hurts is that you lied to me.”
Damon finally takes a break from his staring contest with the horizon to flash a quick, irritated glance your way. “It’s not that big of a deal. I thought you’d get upset about it, something about a past fight where you yelled at me for feasting on the innocent, so I just took care of a problem without having to involve you. What’s so bad about that?”
You scoff. “What’s so bad about lying to your girlfriend? I don’t know, Damon, you tell me. I have been accepting of literally everything else, but you know how I feel about the lies.”
He looks away again. “Oh, right, because you’re such a saint for putting up with me and my tragic vampiric habits.”
Your eyes narrow. “Hey, I never said that. I’ve never had a problem with you being a vampire, I just think it’s bad when you lie to me and you kill people who haven’t done a thing to hurt anyone. I don’t think those two concepts should be so awful to you.”
Damon’s hands drum restlessly on the steering wheel. “If you wanted to change me, you should have said that at the beginning so I could tell you not to get your hopes up. I am who I am, sweetheart, and if you don’t like that, then–”
You speak over him. “Then what, I should leave?”
When he doesn’t respond immediately, you sigh, disgusted. “I can’t believe you. Stop the car.”
Damon slows, then stops when you start tugging at the door handle. “You can’t be serious.”
You laugh incredulously. “If you want me to leave, I will. I’m not dealing with this right now.”
You step out of the car, and walk towards the grassy slope running parallel to the road. Mystic Falls isn’t that far, and you can stroll all the way there yourself if you have to. In the past, Damon wouldn’t have moved an inch except to keep up with you. He would have called you crazy, maybe, but you would always be able to tell that he didn’t mean it. Damon would stay until you got back in, and he wouldn’t let you go. Not once, not ever.
The Damon in the car beside you now, though, is not the man you fell in love with a year ago. This Damon sighs so loudly you can hear it through the lowered windows, and takes off in a rush. You watch his car disappear on the horizon, and only once he’s well and truly gone do you allow your tears to fall, dropping so quickly that you can hardly breathe. The two of you have never been on such rocky shores. You have no idea if you’ll survive this.
You hate that your love is no longer a guarantee, but there’s nothing you can do about it immediately. For now, though, you have to get home. You can figure out relationship troubles then. You start walking, but about five minutes later, a car slows to a stop beside you. For a moment, your heart surges to your throat, and you hope against hope that it might be Damon, come to apologize.
Instead, the face looking back at you is slightly asymmetrical, framed by shaggy red hair and a sparse beard. You’ve never seen the man before, but he offers you a ride and seems trustworthy, so you take it. If something goes wrong, well, you’ve already left one car today. He does seem a little unfocused, but Mystic Falls isn’t that far off. What could possibly happen in such a short distance?
Damon regrets leaving the second his foot steps on the gas. Damn him and his stupid pride, the way he always has to win an argument or at least look good while leaving. After he travels five minutes or so, he gives in and turns around, but by then, Y/N is already gone. She’s probably gotten a new ride, so he doesn’t have to worry.
He takes a shortcut home, one known only by people who’ve had the fantastic opportunity of living near the area for a century or so. Damon is just pulling into the driveway of the Salvatore house when something hits him, something stronger than a guilty conscience. He’s never been prone to believe in witchy visions, even despite knowing Bonnie Bennett, so his first instinct is to just brush this incident aside.
Still, something is hammering away at Damon’s head, telling him that if he doesn’t get his ass up and go find Y/N now, he’s going to regret it for the rest of his interminably long life. He doesn’t even bother to stop the car, just turns around and gets back on the road. Damon doesn’t know where he’s going, he just knows that he is, and he won’t stop until he finds something to stop the feeling in his chest telling him that something has happened, something bad.
Damon gets a call about a minute later, and picks it up upon seeing the caller ID flash out the name of Liz Forbes. He answers, one hand still on the wheel.
“Sheriff! What’s up?”
Liz seems tired, the rattle of her sigh turning into static over the line. “You’re still on the road, right? Would you mind heading towards the highway near the entrance to the town? Apparently there was a bad crash just a couple seconds ago, but I’m all tied up with vampire business and I can’t make it out there to check it for myself.”
Damon is starting to connect the dots, revealing a picture that’s far worse than he even wants to imagine. “Absolutely. Heading there now.”
He scarcely hears the sheriff’s last few words of gratitude before he hangs up and starts gunning the engine. Damon knows what this is about, he thinks, but he won’t know for sure until he happens upon the scene of the crash.
Damon finds it soon enough, both thanks to the sheriff’s directions and the strange intuition of his own heart. He can see the crash site from a while away, too. Two mangled frames of metal, glass shards everywhere, burned rubber tracing crazed lines across the pavement.
Damon pulls off the road and starts running, sprinting towards the felled cars until he finds the one that seems the most right. A redheaded man with cuts streaking his face is yelling something at Damon, but he doesn’t care, even despite the allure of fresh blood.
He’s just seen a figure in one of the flipped cars, someone who isn’t moving. Damon swears under his breath and moves, pulling the limp body out through a tire-sized hole in the passenger side window.
He knows it’s Y/N even before he touches her, but there is still something absolutely horrifying about seeing her eyelids closed, her entire frame so motionless. Damon carries in her arms a good ways away from the car, enough that the two of them are hidden from view from anyone else, so he can get a good look at her.
It’s bad, to say the least. He can already see several badly broken bones, and judging by the fact that she’s covered in blood and steadfastly refusing to open her eyes, she’s a few moments from death. Already, her breaths are coming slower and slower, scarcely enough to move her chest.
Damon makes a choice in the span of a moment. He tears open his wrist with his teeth, forcing the blood into her mouth. He’s never prayed like this before, but in this moment, Damon swears to everything that’s holy and a few others, anything to ensure that the young woman before him will open her eyes, please. Even if it’s to hate him. Even if it’s to keep up that same stupid, pointless fight. He just needs her to be alright.
Vampire blood doesn’t take long to heal, but even fractions of a second seem like centuries before Y/N finally coughs and starts to sit up. Damon might have accidentally fractured a couple of her ribs with the force of his hug, but he can’t help it. He legitimately didn’t know if she was going to wake again. Nothing can ever make up for that fear.
Y/N’s hand finds his arm, and Damon does his best for a smile. “Hey, hey. You’re going to be alright. It was a bad crash, but you’re better now. Promise.”
Y/N smiles quietly back at him. “Of course I’m okay. You got me out, didn’t you?”
Damon’s heart stirs painfully in his chest. “You’re too good for me, sweetheart. I swear it. God, this is all my fault. I never should have left. I never should have lied.”
Y/N chuckles, the sound raspy in her still-healing chest. “Don’t worry about that anymore. It’s over. I think saving me from a deadly car crash more than makes up for a small squabble.”
Damon sighs. “You can say that all you want, but I don’t know if I’ll believe it for a while. I just need you, alright?”
She smiles again, leaning forward to rest her head against his. “I need you too, Damon. More than anything.”
Damon pulls her close, finally allowing himself to relax. He’s got her back. This is all that matters.

You chuckle against Damon's skin, your lips dragging along his stomach as he squirms beneath you, his phone pressed to his ear.
You can hear Alaric's muffled voice coming through the speaker as you hook your fingers under the waistband of Damon's jeans, prompting him to curse at you under his breath.
But he doesn't make a move to stop you, only attempting to stifle a groan as he keeps his phone to his ear.
And you find yourself stifling a laugh when you hear Alaric ask if everything's okay.
"Yeah, Ric," Damon says, his voice strained as he squirms beneath you. "Everything's great. Nothing wrong here."
You find it all the more amusing by how hard he's trying to cover, despite the fact that he's practically groaning into the phone, one of his hands absentmindedly playing with your hair.
Once you manage to pull his pants off along with his boxers, you waste no time in wrapping your hand around his length, eliciting a startled sigh from him, his hips jerking into you from the contact.
"Are you sure you're okay?" You hear Ric ask him, and it makes you chuckle.
Damon glares at you as he speaks.
"Yeah, Ric, everything's fine." He assures him again, readjusting himself slightly beneath you. "But you know what, I uh─I might have to call you back."
Before you're even able to wrap your lips around him, he's threading a hand into your hair, pulling you up so that you're face to face with him now.
"Were you not aware that I was on a call?" He asks, pressing his mouth into a line as he looks at you.
"I was aware."
"Hm." He hums, twirling a finger through your hair. "What am I gonna do with you?"
Before you have a chance to offer him any suggestions, he's flipping you onto your back, his fingers snaking around your throat as he hovers over you.
"As much as I loved your hand around my dick." He smirks, his free hand trailing down your body. "You really shouldn't interrupt my calls like that."
"What're you gonna do about it?"
He doesn't offer you an answer, and instead you feel his fingers slide beneath the waistband of your jeans.
"Now, you've been a bad bad girl," he tuts, pressing a finger against you through the fabric of your panties. "And bad girls get punished."
You laugh. "And how is this a punishment?"
"Oh, you'll see." He smirks, sliding his hand inside your panties, his fingers swirling around your clit.
You sigh, throwing your head back into the pillows when he pushes a finger inside of you.
Except, he doesn't move, instead choosing to remain painfully still, a wicked smirk on his face as he looks down at you.
"Damon," you whine, looking down to where his hand had disappeared in your jeans. "Come on."
"What? I'm not doing anything."
"Exactly, you're not doing anything."
"What would you like me to do?" He asks, a knowing grin on his face as he moves his hand ever so slightly against you. "You want me to fuck you?"
"Yes," you sigh, nodding your head at him.
"Apologise."
"What?"
He smirks. "You interrupted my call. Apologise."
You continue to resist, shifting uncomfortably beneath him, but he won't let up.
"If you apologise," he says, slipping his hand out of your jeans now. "Then I'll give you what you want."
"Okay, I'm sorry," you finally say, giving in.
"That's right."
And with that, he's flipping you over onto your front, his hands already tugging your jeans off. And within seconds, he's inside you, already moving at a brutal pace as he holds you up, rough fingers digging into your ass.
"God," you moan, your mouth twisting into a smile as he fucks you. "I'm so so sorry. So sorry."
"And I forgive you."

Everything to him
Damon stood with his arms around his girl’s waist as she finished her makeup in the mirror. His chin on top her head as he watched as she layered the romantic red lipstick onto her soft plump lips. He could only hope to have their prints all over him by later that night as she looked herself over.
“You look perfect” he mumbled when she frowned a little and tilted her head. “There’s absolutely nothing I would change, in fact although the makeup has you looking all this much sexier, even without you wear the face of an angel” he purred seeing her lips lift into a smile and her head turn to look at him.
“I’d say flattery gets you no where but it seems to have gotten you rather far as of now” she lifted her arms over his head and round his neck while batting her lashes as him. He pulled her closer so his lips ghosted hers and his eyes dropped at the feeling of her fingers in his hair.
“I only tell the truth to you” he whispered gravelly and she hummed in reply, scratching at his head slowly knowing how it affected him. His eyes shut and pressed his forehead to hers “god I love you” he muttered and her smile grew
“I love you Damon Salvatore” she grinned and he tilted his head slightly to have his lips against hers. He allowed her to take the lead, moving her mouth against his and Brighton’s her other hand up to cup his face as both his hands slid up her back to hold the tops of her arms.
“You’re going to ruin my hair” he muttered and she laughed lightly against his lips before pulling back to look at him, her fingers running through each lock
“I like it messy” she decided before brushing it through with her hands and positioning it in a way that she found suited him best. His eyes glossed over as he watched her loving smile and felt her gentle touches. Her fingertips dances down the back of his neck and round to the front before she adjusted his leather, pulling it tighter on him and wetting her painted lips. Her palms smoothed down his chest, her deep red nails dragging down his black t-shirt before pulling up the hem only to groan at his display of abs. Her thumb tracing his happy trail and stopping at the top of his low-hanging jeans. Her fingers skimming over his belt in a teasing manner.
“Y/n…” he muttered feeling his body getting aroused by her actions “we have a reservation”he reminded, a breath of air leaving him as her hand cupped his crotch through his trousers “baby…” he whispered “you can almost never get a table there”
She sighed and gave him a light squeeze, listened to him grunt and then fixed his shirt and stepped back admiring him “okay…but after…” she pouted and he nodded eagerly
“After you can do anything you want.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
She bit her bottom lip gently and held her hand out which he quickly took with a lustful smirk in place.
He kept a hand in hers the whole drive there, only breaking the hold for a second as they got out the car before an arm was back round her hips. She smoothed her cherry coloured dress down, adjusting it to rest a little lower on her thighs as it had ridden up in the car. His gaze dropped to her heels which make a distinct ‘click’ with each step she took. His eyes followed back up her gorgeous legs, along her beautiful figure and back to her face. Watching as she spoke to the waiter at the front who was finding their reservation in the system with a bashful blush on his cheeks as she flashed her pearly white teeth. Damon knew how easy it was to get lost in her charm.
He was barely aware of the world around them as he followed her to their table by the window, overlooking the sunset which was already meeting the stary night sky. Menus were slipped into both their hands and wine glasses filled as though the staff just knew what they would order.
She looked to him with admiration in her eyes and his lips curled up “I can’t believe you managed to book us in here” she whispered and he smiled back
“I can’t believe you almost had us miss our time slot, we only just made it”
“I’m sure I would’ve made up for it”
his mouth formed a lip lifted grin in response and he glanced down to his wine glass “I don’t doubt that, not for even a second” he muttered under his breath and she offered him another award winning smile which consequently brought his own upon his lips.
Her foot slipped out of her heel to leisurely brush along his leg as their food came and they engaged in pointless yet meaningful conversation and ate their meals. And for one of those rare moments, he felt like he was human again. He felt no urges, no lust for blood or chaos, he was calm. Happy.
He loved Y/n in ways he had never explored. Ways he wasn’t sure how to but he did them regardless and if he was doing it wrong, she didn’t tell him. She just helped him feel it, she chose him first and loved him and solely him and it was all he had ever wanted. All he had ever needed.
His mind often wondered at times like this, just listening to her voice and watching her lips move, and then the way her eyes would shine under the light and her hair would bounce over her shoulders as she waved her hands around in unnecessary gestures.
He knew he was smiling like a teenage boy with a crush but he couldn’t help it, even when she stopped talking and just grinned back at him knowingly. Her hand finding his and squeezing gently as their desserts were placed before them.
“If you’d like…we could skip dessert” Damon whispered suggestively making her smile
“Oh but then we’d have wasted our reservation” she sighed and leaned back in her seat, digging into her sweet dish and watching his eyes darken over slightly before he looked down to his food and begrudgingly ate the heavenly portion.
By the time they had both finished, paid and gotten to the door, a horrific amount of rain was bouncing off the ground.
Y/n turned her head to him before swiping the car keys from his hand and dashing for car making him let out a laugh and chase after her, completely forgetting his vampire abilities and just managing to get into the car before she locked it. Both of them looked at each other with large smiles on their faces before each bursting into fits of laughed and flicking their hands at one another to throw rain-water on their faces.
Eventually they got home and Damon had he run his arms, spinning in circles and running for the ridiculously big bathtub so they could soak together in the warmth of both the water and each others arms.

friends
Tumblr media
summary: *yn* and damon are friends. good friends. just friends. nothing more, nothing less. until elena's eighteenth birthday party and the captain of the waterpolo team comes along, leaving damon wondering how much he really likes that term.
warnings: swearing, drinking, fluff, vampire stuff, cheating (kinda??)
Tumblr media
"What do you think?"
"Give me a spin."
*yn* resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she complied, shuffling her body around in a circle.
"Oooh I really like this one." Caroline observed. She shifted on the small couch placed into the middle of the boutique as she took a few moments to run her eyes over *yn*'s body.
"I think this might be the one."
This time *yn* couldn't restrain herself as she threw her hands up in frustration and huffed.
"Care, you've said that about all of them."
"I'm sorry, it's not my fault you look good in everything!"
*yn* groaned in response as she shoved the curtain across the metal rod, concealing herself from Caroline once more.
"I give up." She exclaimed dramatically as she pulled the red dress over her head. "I'm just going to go with the blue one."
"If that's what it takes for you to stop whining." She heard Caroline mumble on the other side of the curtain.
"I heard that!"
The shrill ringtone of Caroline's phone rung out through the store.
"Oh sorry Elena's calling, be right back."
*yn* shook her head as she heard Caroline answer the phone and hurry out of the store. She slipped the blue dress back on over her head just as her shoulder bag began to vibrate.
She couldn't fight the small smile threatening to tug on her lips at the Caller ID.
"Well if it isn't my second favourite Salvatore brother."
"Ouch, why is it that you're always so mean to me?" Damon's amused voice slipped out through the speaker.
"Because being nice is boring." She answered as she slipped out of the change room.
"Using my own logic against me, I've taught you too well." She smiled at his words as she made her way over to the mirror.
"What are you up to? Down for a little road trip?"
"Can't sorry. Helping Caroline plan Elena's birthday party." *yn* twisted around in front of the mirror, scrutinising the dress from every angle.
"Ah yes the big eighteenth how could I forget."
"Why? Where are you going?" *yn* asked as she finally drew her attention away from the mirror.
"Tennessee."
Her brow furrowed at her answer. "Another potential Stefan victim?"
"Yep. The sheriff gave Elena another location."
"She's not going with-"
"No way. Told her I'd take it on myself."
There was a pause as *yn* glanced out the shop window to make sure Caroline was still out the front on the phone, her ears occupied and unable to listen in.
"They're going to be like the other victims, aren't they?"
"Probably."
She felt herself grow nauseous at the thought of what Damon would no doubt find in Tennessee. Even his verbal reports back to her had been enough to make her skin crawl. If there had been any doubts before if Stefan was a ripper, they were long gone by now.
"Are we ever going to tell her?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line. She heard Damon let out a sigh.
"If I find him and sort him out we won't ever have to."
"Alright just- just let me know how you go ok?" Despite her best efforts she couldn't hide the concern laced through her words.
"Always do. See you at the party."
"See you at the party."
"Oh *yln*-"
Damon's voice crackled through the speaker just as her finger hovered over the button to end the call.
"Yeah?" She pressed the phone to her ear once more.
There was a pause on the other end of the line.
"Wear the red one." *yn* swore she could practically hear his smirk through the phone before he hung up.
*yn* whirled around, the phone still pressed to her ear. Her eyes darted around the store and then out through the windows that revealed the main street of Mystic Falls.
Her heart was thumping in her chest and a blush was creeping up onto her cheeks. Damon was no where to be seen.
"Ugh god Elena is still complaining about this party, I swear it's like no one wants to have fun in this town anymore- are you ok?"
*yn* turned to see Caroline staring at her, brow raised when she noticed her flushed complexion.
"Uh- yeah fine." *yn* lied, swallowing as she turned to go back into the change room.
"Ok..." Caroline studied her before turning her attention back to her phone.
She glanced up once more after a few moments to see *yn* emerging from the change room, back in her jeans and tank top. Her brow furrowed.
"I thought you were getting the blue one?"
"Yeah I um-"
*yn* glanced down at the red material clutched in her arms.
"I changed my mind."
Tumblr media
The bass felt like it was pounding against her skull. Sweaty bodies were brushing against her on all sides. She could already feel the back of her knees start to slick with sweat as she weaved through the crowd.
Apparently this was Caroline's definition of a 'small' party. Bodies occupied every square inch of the Salvatore boarding house. Her eyes slid over the hundred or so faces. Some she recognised from school. Others she had never seen before in her life.
She smoothed down the front of her short dress as she stepped around a couple making out at the bottom of the staircase. She could feel multiple sets of eyes on her as she moved deeper into the house. The waterpolo team bunched in the corner didn't even make an attempt to look away as she walked past.
She smirked to herself. She'd shown up with the intention of looking hot, so far it seemed to be going according to plan. She surveyed the crowd once more. A flash of blonde hair caught her eye, which she instantly made a beeline for.
"Care!"
Caroline swung around at *yn*'s voice, a grin spreading across her lips as she looked her up and down.
"Oh my freaking god you look so hot." She squealed as she lurched forward and wrapped her arms her shoulders.
*yn* laughed and squeezed her tightly back. "So do you."
"Who the hell are these people?"
"Friends of friends." Caroline shrugged. *yn* raised a brow at her before turning to survey the room. Her eyes involuntarily searching for one person in particular.
"C'mon, I need a shot." Caroline announced as she grabbed *yn*'s hand and tugged her towards the drinks table.
*yn* grinned as she let Caroline lead her through the crowd.
"Is everyone here?" *yn* shouted over the thumping bass.
"I think so." Caroline shouted back, her eyes gleaming as she spotted a bottle of tequila.
*yn* turned around, her eyes scanning the crowd once more.
"Oh actually I haven't seen that reporter girl yet, what's her name - Andrea or-"
"What?" *yn*'s neck snapped back around to look at Caroline.
"Andie's coming?"
Caroline paused and glanced up at her. She had just been about to pour the clear liquid into a shot glass.
"Yeah, Damon insisted on inviting her. Poor girl probably didn't have a choice knowing him." Caroline remarked as she turned her attention back to the bottle in her hand.
"Right." *yn* swallowed. She pressed her lips into a hard line. "Yeah."
She felt sick as she glanced down at the tight red dress covering her body. She suddenly felt incredibly stupid. That for even a moment she had let herself divulge in suppressed fantasies, that she'd let herself get hopeful that something might happen with the vampire that was supposed to be nothing more than one of her good friends.
That she had let herself indulge those feelings that she had always worked so hard to deny and ignore.
"Ok here-" Caroline cut herself off, the shot in her hand for *yn* to take suspended in midair.
She studied her friend for a moment. She withheld a sigh when she saw the tears threatening to pool in *yn*'s eyes.
"Ok no." She announced, slamming the shots back onto the table. The sound made *yn* jump, her eyes focusing back on her friend.
"We are so not doing this tonight."
"Wha-"
"You are not letting your night get ruined by Damon Salvatore of all people."
"Care-" *yn* began, glancing over her shoulder quickly to make sure Damon wasn't in sight before turning back to her. "He's my friend."
"Oh please." Caroline scoffed as she folded her arms in front of her chest. "You don't think I can tell when my best friend is crushing on a guy?"
*yn* felt her cheeks redden.
"Although I've been trying to ignore it given it is Damon-"
She ignored the glare *yn* gave her. "- and I've been hoping it was just a little phase, but clearly that was wishful thinking." She sighed as she gestured to *yn* who had opened her mouth to respond.
"I've known for months, so don't even try and deny it."
*yn* clamped her mouth shut. She felt her resolve weaken under Caroline's stare.
"If you tell a soul-"
"-you'll stake me I know. Your secret's safe with me." Caroline insisted.
With that *yn* felt her shoulders slump in defeat as her barriers finally crumbled down.
"I like him. A lot." She admitted.
"I think I always knew there was something there, but I don't think I realised how much until-" She cut herself off and bit her lip as she felt her eyes begin to water.
Caroline's hard gaze softened at the sight. "Hey, it's ok." Caroline comforted her, running a hand down her arm. "Do you want to go somewhere and talk about it?"
"No." *yn* shook her head as she sniffed. "No, like you said. I don't want this to ruin my night. It's been so long since we've actually had fun."
It was true. Before Damon and Stefan returned to Mystic Falls, *yn* was the life of the party, drinking almost every weekend and staying out way past curfew - much to her parents chagrin. But now, she could barely even remember what it felt like to be drunk and let loose.
Her answer made Caroline's eyes brighten. "Exactly, and you look way too hot right now to be crying over a guy."
*yn* followed Caroline's gaze to look around the room of warm bodies. Her eyes flitted over a few guys, her confidence sparking once more when she saw their eyes were already on her.
"You could have literally anyone you want in here."
She could have anyone she wanted, except for Damon. Almost as if she could read her mind, Caroline grabbed her hand.
"Ok, in my opinion you have two options right now." Caroline continued.
"You can go and tell Damon how you feel and let it out, or-" She paused as she raised the cup up to *yn*'s face. "You can get trashed with me and forget all about stupid boys."
*yn* raised a brow, not missing the hint of bitterness in Caroline's voice. It sounded a little bit too personal to just be about Damon. She decided to let it go however, as her eyes flickered down to the red solo cup and then back at Caroline.
"Make it a double."
Caroline's grin widened, "now you're sounding like my best friend."
*yn* watched as she eagerly poured extra into her cup, internally wincing at how free handed she was being with the liquor.
"To being hot and getting drunk." Caroline toasted once she'd handed *yn* her drink.
"To being hot and getting drunk." *yn* echoed, clinking their cups together before pressing it to her lips. She winced as the liquor burned her throat. She definitely had not missed that feeling.
"Ugh, speak of the devil."
*yn* followed Caroline's gaze behind her shoulder. She twisted around to see Elena and Damon making their way down the stairs.
Damon was dressed in black jeans and a blue button down with the sleeves rolled up his forearms. He looked annoyingly hot, as usual.
The pair hadn't spotted them yet as Caroline and *yn* made their way through the crowd towards them.
"Happy birthday!" Her and Caroline chorused as they reached them.
"You look amazing." *yn* grinned as she pulled her other best friend in for a tight hug.
"Thank you, so do you. The red is hot." Elena chuckled as they pulled away from each other.
*yn* could feel Damon's eyes on her but kept her focus on Elena.
"You like?" Caroline asked her, gesturing to the party around them.
"I-" Elena cut herself off as she glanced around the room. "This is keeping it small?"
Caroline didn't answer her, instead shooting her an innocent smile.
Elena couldn't fight the grin spreading across her lips as she let out a dramatic and defeated huff, "what are we drinking?"
Caroline giggled and gripped Elena's arm and tugged her towards the drinks table.
*yn* watched them go, feeling Damon's eyes still on her. Caroline's words echoed in her head. She was right. Just because she had feelings doesn't mean she had to act weird or let it get to her. He was still her friend, first and foremost. There was no reason to change how she was around him.
She took a breath and made sure her face was the perfect picture of normalcy before turning around to meet his gaze.
"Hey."
"Hey yourself." He answered, his eyes dragging down her front before flicking up to her face.
"Nice dress."
"Thanks, I had help picking it out."
A smirk twitched up onto his lips. "Well, they've got excellent taste. They're a good friend."
Friend. The word stung more than it usually did.
She forced a smile onto her lips, "that they are."
"*yn*! Get over here we're doing birthday shots!" Elena called out to her.
*yn* glanced over her shoulder and nodded before looking back up at Damon.
"Sorry, duty calls." She shrugged innocently.
"Please." He gestured for her to go. It was then that she noticed the bottle of bourbon in his hand. "Don't let me stop you."
She shot him one last grin before making her way towards Elena and Caroline.
Damon's eyes followed her the whole way there.

"I am every parents worst nightmare." Alaric sighed. "I am the chaperone teacher from hell."
"I love high school parties." Damon grinned as he jumped up onto the ledge.
"Isn't Andie supposed to be coming?"
"10 o'clock broadcast, she'll be here in a little bit."
"Uh huh." Ric remarked as he took a deep drink. Damon's brow furrowed as he glanced up from his glass.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"What is what supposed to mean?"
"That little face you just made. Something wrong with Andie?"
"With your fake compelled girlfriend? No not at all." Ric drawled sarcastically.
"Hey it's a complicated dynamic ok."
"Or it's a distraction."
Damon's eyes narrowed even further. "Distraction from what exactly Ric?"
"Hey Mr Saltzman!" A loud voice prevented Ric from answering.
They both glanced up to see a tall, muscular guy approaching them through the door that led into the party. He was wearing a Mystic Falls High varsity jacket.
Damon frowned when he saw a flash of red behind him. He froze mid sip when he saw that flash of red belonged to *yn*'s dress.
"Jake." Alaric nodded in greeting.
Jake came to a stand still in front of them, a wide grin on his face. "*yn* told me you were chaperoning."
Then all eyes were on *yn*, who was now standing beside him. Jake's arm wrapped around her shoulders to pull her against him.
Damon felt something twist inside him.
"Had to see it for myself."
"Here I am." Alaric chuckled awkwardly.
"See I told you!" She giggled as she swayed against him. Her eyes were glassy and cheeks were flushed. A bottle in her hand.
"Badass Mr Saltzman." Jake complimented. It was then that his eyes landed on Damon. Confusion flashed across his features as he tried to place him.
"Oh Jake this is my friend." *yn* introduced, "Damon Salvatore."
Friend. It was what he was to her, the correct title to describe their relationship. But tonight, in front of this guy, it prodded something inside him. Unfurling inside him like a wasp injecting its barbed stinger into his veins.
"Salvatore... oh shit so you own this place?" Jake's eyes lit up in recognition.
"Home sweet home." Damon remarked, unable to hide the annoyance in his voice as he took a deep sip of his bourbon.
"It's dope. Sickest party location for sure." Jake complimented.
"Oi Masters!"
The group turned around to see another boy standing at the precipice of the home. "We're about to start another round, get your ass in here!"
"Beer pong." Jake explained to the group. "I'm the reigning champion." He boasted proudly. Damon rolled his eyes when Jake glanced down at *yn* for a reaction who giggled and patted his chest.
"I didn't realise we were in the presence of such a high performance athlete." He remarked earning a snort from Ric.
The liquor swishing around in Jake's stomach seemed to hinder his ability to pick up on Damon's sarcasm as he looked up and shot him another grin.
"Alright, it was nice meeting you Damon. See you in school Mr Saltzman."
Ric tilted his head in acknowledgement and Damon simply shot him a tight lipped smile.
"See you guys later." *yn* waved before bursting into a fit of giggles as Jake eagerly pulled her back inside.
Damon glanced down. His grip on his glass tightened. Jake's hand was entwined with hers.
Ric glanced between the disappearing couple and Damon.
"Careful buddy, you might break that glass."
"I hate high school jocks." Was all Damon responded with as he drained his drink and immediately reached for the bottle.
"What's his deal anyway?"
"Who? Jake Masters?" Alaric queried. He let out a scoff when Damon inclined his head.
"Uh I don't know, he's the captain of the waterpolo team. Not the greatest at history, thinks he's gods gift to women, the usual." Alaric shrugged.
Damon hummed in response. He swirled his drink in his hand absentmindedly as his eyes fixed on the doorway that *yn* and Jake had disappeared through.
"What time is Andie getting here again?" Ric asked him.
"Damon." Ric repeated after a few moments.
"What?"
Ric tried to hide his amused smirk as he studied his friend. "I said what time is Andie getting here again?"
"Oh uh-" Damon's eyes shifted back to the doorway. "11 or something." He spoke dismissively.
Almost as if they had a mind of his own, his legs pulled him up onto his feet. Unable to fight the pull to head inside anymore, he slammed his glass down. "I'm just going to go grab another drink."
Ric raised a brow and glanced at the nearly full bottle of bourbon placed between them. He smirked in amusement.
"You do that buddy."
Tumblr media
"Oops sorry!"
Damon glared as another drunk teenager fumbled into him. He pressed the bottle to his lips and tilted his head back. His brow furrowed when the taste of bourbon didn't reach his tastebuds.
He glanced down and cursed under his breath when he saw it was empty. He tossed it to the ground before promptly plucking another bottle out of the hands of a girl passing him who looked like she was about to puke.
"No no, trust me you don't want this." He stared into her eyes, "you want to go outside and puke your guts out on the grass, not on my expensive leather couch."
He rolled his eyes as she nodded numbly and walked past him. He pressed his body against the wooden support beam, his eyes drifting over the unfamiliar faces.
"If you're looking for *yn*, I last saw her in the stoner den."
He glanced to his left to see Elena standing beside him.
"I wasn't. But thanks for the update." He answered as he pressed the new bottle to his lips.
Elena didn't need to know that he'd spent the last twenty minutes trying to find her and had now given up and decided to sulk in the corner.
"Whatever you say."
His eyes narrowed as he glared down at her. She met his gaze with an innocent smile. He resisted the urge to ask her what she meant by that, because a part of him knew exactly what she was hinting at - which had been exactly what Ric had been hinting at - and that was a conversation he wasn't exactly ready to face.
"Have fun sulking." She patted his shoulder and disappeared into the crowd. He watched her go as he took another gulp. What had started out as a fun night was quickly becoming a chore.
He stiffened when his ears detected a laugh that he knew like the back of his hand. Sure enough, it wasn't long until his eyes fell on *yn*.
He clenched his jaw when he saw that she was following after Jake Masters. He was still holding her hand, and was now leading her towards the centre of the room where a dance floor had formed.
Jake turned to *yn* and leant down, whispering in her ear as he encircled his arms around her waist. She laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck as the two began to move to the heavy bass.
As Jake moved, a vein in his neck pulsed out. Damon felt the veins stir under his eyes. All he needed was to sink his teeth into that vein and he could rip his head clean-
"Hasn't anyone ever taught you it's rude to stare?"
Damon ripped his eyes away from the couple, turning his steely gaze to Caroline.
"What do you want blondie." He muttered as he turned his attention back to the dance floor.
"Nothing. Just here to remind you that you are in front of hundreds of people so now is not really the time to get your dracula on."
He rolled his eyes, "I'm fine."
"Really? Because to me it looks like you're about to go rip Jake Masters head off."
Damon's gums ached at he mention of his name.
"Don't you have other things to be worried about blondie?" He sneered.
"Not really."
"Not even your little wolf boy getting it on with a leggier version of you over there?"
Caroline followed his gaze to see Tyler and none other than slutty Sophie of all people grinding on each other in the middle of the room. Caroline ground her teeth and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Doesn't bother me." Her voice raised an octave.
"You sure about that? I think that bottle is suffocating." Caroline glanced down and huffed as she loosened the grip on the wine bottle.
"This isn't about me." Caroline hissed as she turned to face him.
"This is about you admitting that seeing Jake and *yn* together is driving you crazy."
"Why would it?"
"Uh gee Damon, I don't know let me think, maybe because you have feelings for her?"
Her words were like a slap in the face. It was the first time anyone had said it out loud. Had dared to voice what they had all been thinking. All of a sudden it felt very real. Very much a possibility that Damon did indeed have feelings for his friend. He felt like the room was closing in on him.
Damon shook his head and forced a chuckle out past his lips, "sorry blondie, but you don't know what you're talking about."
"Really?" She raised her brow, "so that doesn't bother you in the slightest?"
He turned his head and his eyes found *yn*'s figure instantly. His jaw clenched and he pursed his lips.
She had turned around to press her back against Jake's. His hands were roaming her side, brushing the red fabric higher up her thighs. He was placing kisses along her neck and muttering into her ear which was making her giggle.
That single wasp inside him had now spawned into a hive, stinging him from the inside out. Right then and there, he could have ripped the heads off every single person in this room. Tear them limb from limb. Anything to get rid of this sick feeling in his stomach.
A feeling he hadn't felt in a long time, perhaps ever.
A feeling you most definitely did not have towards a friend.
"Oh is that Jake Masters with *yn*?" Elena had reappeared beside him.
"Good for her, he's so hot-"
Damon didn't hear anything else after that, because in that moment Jake had leant in and whispered into her ear once more.
"What do you say we go find somewhere quieter to talk?"
His pulse was ringing in his ears, Jake's smarmy voice slithering around in his head. His legs had moved before he had even decided to. Making a beeline for *yn*.
He had no idea what his plan was. All he knew was that if he didn't get her away from his guy, he was going to murder someone. Jealousy had never agreed with him. It made him even uglier than usual.
"I need to talk to you."
*yn* twisted around in Jake's arms, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Damon standing in front of her.
"I'm a little busy."
Damon glared at Jake behind her before his eyes flickered down to her.
"It's important."
"I'm sure it can wait." She shot back.
Jake glanced between them, his brow furrowing as he tried to understand what was going on.
"Jake-" Damon began as he locked eyes with the teenager. "Why don't you go do us proud and win another beer pong championship." He cocked his head and grinned, "and don't come back."
Jake's eyes clouded over momentarily, before he blinked and his eyes focused on *yn*.
"Will do!" Jake grinned.
"Damon!" *yn* protested. It was futile as Jake's hands slipped from around her waist. They watched as he marched towards the kitchen with a determined pace.
"What the hell." She growled as she glared up at him. "I was having fun."
"Of course you were, who wouldn't be with the reigning beer pong champion of Mystic Falls." Damon drawled as he gripped her elbow and dragged her through the crowd.
"I wasn't planning on marrying the guy." She snapped back as he led her up the stairs. "He's hot, it's a party. You do the math."
He gritted his teeth at her answer as he guided her into his bedroom.
"You're drunk."
She huffed as she stormed into the centre of the room.
He shut the door. The noise from the party underneath them was immediately dampened. Now only a dull roar, background noise that occasionally seeped in through the floorboards.
"I don't want you making a decision you'll regret tomorrow."
She inhaled sharply before swivelling around to face him. Her fists clenched at her sides.
"That's not your decision to make."
"You're right. It's not." He nodded as he stalked towards her, "but I'm the one who's going to have to pick up the pieces if you get hurt."
She let out a bark of laughter. "Get hurt? I was dancing with him not running off to get eloped."
"Well we all know where it was heading."
Her eyes narrowed at his response.
"Last time I checked you're my friend, not my parent."
Friend. There it was again. That one little noun that was causing so much heartache. So much turmoil inside him.
*yn* knew she should leave it at that. But anger and liquor never mixed well inside her. And she was hurt and confused. All she had wanted to do was distract herself from him and her feelings, yet now it seemed like she couldn't escape him.
Now she felt like she was going crazy because if she didn't know any better, she could have sworn he was jealous.
"Don't you have anything better to do? Isn't your girlfriend supposed to be here?"
Damon didn't miss the way her lips almost curled into a sneer as they formed the word.
"She's working late."
His answer made her stomach drop. Of course they were still together. How stupid could she be to even let herself think for one moment that they might have broken up, that he might-
"Right." She nodded. "Well, I appreciate the whole friend intervention thing or whatever this is." She gestured to him as she took a few steps forward. "But I'm going back to the party."
She had made it all the way past him when she felt his hand curl around her forearm, rooting her in place.
"You seem to be really enjoying using the word 'friend' tonight."
Silence fell over the pair. Her eyes fluttered shut as she inhaled shakily. She opened her eyes once more and stared at the closed door. She could feel Damon's eyes burning holes in the back of her head.
His hand was yet to leave her bare arm.
"Well that's what you are."
She remembered Caroline's words as she tried to control her nerves. She exhaled as she tried to calm her beating heart as she turned to face him.
"Right?"
She kept her gaze defiant and determined as they locked eyes. He searched her eyes, seemingly looking for something in particular.
"I don't know." He began as he took a step toward her.
His ring band was burning into her skin. Her heart hammered.
"Do friends get the urge to rip the heads off arrogant jocks who touch their other friends?"
*yn* swallowed as she held his gaze. Her mind was going at a million miles an hour. She could barely process what was happening.
"Do friends feel physically ill when they hear the word friend being used to describe their relationship?"
Another step forward. His piercing green eyes flickered down to her lips and then back to her eyes.
"Damon-"
She cut herself off as Damon's hand cradled the side of her face. His teeth captured his bottom lip as his eyes once again fell to her mouth. The pad of his thumb glided over her bottom lip.
"I don't think I want to be your friend anymore *yn*." He murmured, his voice causing goosebumps to rise on the back of her neck.
"In fact, I don't think I've hated the word as much as I do right now." He whispered as he pressed his forehead against hers.
The alcohol running through her veins was clouding her reasoning, not even giving her a chance to think about Andie or Jake, or what the implications of this in the morning would be.
But in that moment, she didn't care. All she could think about was the smell of his cologne invading her senses and the feeling of his fingers running along her hot skin. About how desperate she was to have his mouth on hers.
All it took was the slightest tilt of *yn*'s chin to connect their lips. Her eyes fluttered shut as he finally let go of her arm to bring his other hand up to her cheek, cupping her face in his hands.
Their lips moved in sync as she pressed herself against him, nearly letting out a moan at the feeling. Her hands threaded themselves through his hair as he moved one hand to ensnare her waist. His hand travelled down just as she-
"They're kissing!" The muffled voice on the other side of the door made them pull apart in surprise. She glanced over her shoulder.
"Caroline?" *yn* asked as Damon ran a hand over her lower back. Damon nodded.
"And Elena."
*yn* let out a breathy laugh as she turned back to look up at him.
"Moment ruined?" He asked, a rare smile spreading across his lips as he studied her.
"Kinda." She grinned back as she leant up to capture his lips in another kiss.
They pulled apart after a few moments, pressing their foreheads together as they caught their breaths.
"I have to say *yln*." Damon murmured, a smirk twisting up onto his lips.
"I love not being your friend."

Tumblr media
It was a dark night when your carriage pulled into the Salvatore estate in a town called Mystic Falls. It was your first time you’ve stepped foot in the small virginian town. The carriage came to a halt, horses neighing when you felt the coachman get off his seat as the body moderately swayed. Seconds later the door was opened and you set eyes on the white estate. Lights illuminating the property, guests entering the doors as three men stood out front, shaking their hands and welcoming them to Mystic Falls.
You placed your hand on top of the footman’s hands, carefully stepping out of the carriage and onto the ground, your blue gown squeezing past the carriage doors, brushing off any wrinkles that might’ve appeared. Touching up your hair, you made your way to the stairs to officially arrive at the party.
‘Miss Watson,’ Giuseppe Salvatore greeted you with a kiss to your gloved hands, the two younger men on either side staring at you. ‘How lovely of you to come out tonight. I hope you will find the party most pleasant.’
‘Mr. Salvatore,’ you curtsied as he took your hand, greeting him with a smile. ‘Thank you for the invitation. I was pleased to be invited. Since I was a little girl I have forever adored your get-togethers so greatly. On behalf of my parents I will extend their condolences for not being able to make it tonight. You must know they begged me to tell you how very unpleasant they felt with the short notice. Apologies.’
‘No apology necessary,’ he expressed. ‘Please meet my sons, Damon,’ he nodded towards the dark haired boy, ‘and Stefan.’ The blond one.
‘The famous Salvatore brothers,’ you fixed your gaze on them. ‘I’ve heard quite the tales of the two of you. Your closeness and gentlemanliness travels a great deal of distance. Many of the ladies in town fancy you without ever having set eyes on you.’ You disclosed, feeling Damon’s eyes linger on you as you took turns to study their features. ‘But I can attest that you two are a sight for sore eyes…’
‘You flatter us, Miss Watson,’ Stefan took your hand and placed a kiss on your glove. ‘Word of your beauty travels too. We too can see why.’
You turned your head to Damon who took hold of your gloved hand, his warmth spreading through the material as his lips touched that same fabric, your stomach churning as he looked up at you with crystal blue eyes, batted through dark lashes.
‘Miss Watson, it is a pleasure that you could join us this evening. I hope my father’s party will be to your liking.’
‘The pleasure is all mine, Mister Salvatore.’ You lifted the corner of your mouth, removing your hand from his grasp and passed them to step into the house, welcomed by the soft chords of violins and a piano, clinking of glasses and chattering mixed with lighthearted laughs.
You took a look around the room, every surface sparking with decorations, women in their best gowns—men in their best suits. All come together to celebrate the founding of the new town. The so-called founding families talking of their plans over expensive drinks.
‘Miss Watson,’ you picked up the voice of Damon Salvatore sneaking up on you.
You turned over your left shoulder to find yourself standing opposite him. His curly locks falling down his forehead, highlighting his pale skin and icy eyes.
‘I apologise for catching you so early on, but I was wondering if you might like a tour of our new home?’ His eyes gleamed at you. ‘Our garden has a beautiful view of the lake that is lit by tiny little fireflies,’
‘You are taking too good care of me, Mister Salvatore.’
‘Please,’ he gave you a polite smile, ‘call me Damon.’
‘Then you can call me, Y/n,’ you returned the smile, seeing his fist ball up.
‘Shall we?’ Damon placed his hand in front of his torso, nodding you to take his arm to chaperone you across the large estate.
‘We shall,’ you said, latching yourself onto Damon’s arm as he guided you out of parlour, the atmosphere immediately quieting down as soon as you left the celebrations, only servants and household staff occasionally crossing your paths.
Damon walked you down to the riverside, the sound of flowing water making you appreciate nature. The glow of fireflies swarming through the night’s sky underneath the stars. Wind sweeping across your skin as you glanced back at the house.
‘You know, some might think we’re courting.’ He chuckled, him too sharing a look at the house.
‘We hardly know each other, Damon.’ You tilted your head, seeing that he was already looking at you. His eyes are still sparkling despite the lack of light. ‘And our so-called courting is bound by you showing me your home.’
‘What would you like to know about me?’
‘I haven’t really thought about what I’d like to know, I must admit,’ you chuckled, staring back at the fireflies and the water.
‘How about I start?’ He suggested, taking the initiative to walk along the river.
You hummed in response.
‘Have you ever been courted before?’
‘Damon!’ You snapped your head towards him, very much shocked by his sudden question. ‘You are prying into a lady’s personal life…’
‘It’s a conversation starter!’ He protested, his pearly white smile making your cheeks grow hot.
‘Fine,’ you sighed jestfully. ‘A few months ago Mr. Cooper from town asked to escort me to the Wilson’s family celebrations. When we were alone I tried to return to the others as it was highly inappropriate to be alone in his presence,’ you occasionally bumped into Damon’s side as you kept walking. ‘But when I tried to leave, he wouldn’t let go of my arm and came so close to my face I knew he was going to kiss me. But I didn’t want to. So my hand sort of slipped and I hit him so hard, blood started to drip from his nose. And since then he’s been avoiding me.’
‘Are you serious?’ Damon stopped, letting you take another step before you realised the crunching of grass got quieter, turning around to see his half lit face. Eyes staring at you.
‘Oh my,’ your eyes darted across the ground, taken aback by your loose mouth, ‘I don’t know why I told you that. That—that was uncalled for and inappropriate. It was an accident…hitting him. He was a kind gentleman and my clumsiness ruined a perfectly good courting.’
‘What are you talking about?’ Confusion coated his lips. ‘You didn’t do anything wrong, Y/n.’
‘I didn’t?’
‘You didn’t.’
‘I’m sorry but you were just so silent I thought this story was upsetting you,’ you breathed out deeply, your fingers playing with the hems of your gloves.
‘Oh, I am a serious listener,’ Damon said, his tone letting you know that he was smiling. ‘He was, excuse my language,’ cough, ‘a dick.’ He smirked, whispering the last words of the sentence.
‘Damon!’ You acted shocked, your mouth opening to a wide smile.
‘What?’ He laughed.
‘Perhaps you are right,’ you pondered. ‘He was a really big dick.’
‘Language, Miss Watson!’ Damon scolded you, giving you the same fake shock factor you had just moments ago.
‘You are a bad influence on me, Mister Salvatore,’
‘Are you accusing me, Miss Watson?’ Damon stepped closer, his delightful nature making you more relaxed than you ever have been around a man you’ve only known a couple of hours.
‘I certainly am, Mister Salvatore.’ You stepped even closer, so closer your chest almost touched his, feeling the warmth of his breath clash with the mild night’s air.
Your eyes lingered on his lips, pink and plush as his tongue came out to wet them, glancing up at his eyes, seeing that they were staring at your lips before meeting your eyes.
‘This is inappropriate,’ you whispered, your chest rising as your breaths got deeper.
‘It is…’ Damon whispered back, his delayed breathing reaching the skin of your neck.
Your faces inched closer, lips hovering over each other, enough space to save yourself from improper behaviour. His scent so addictive. Your lips lingered, your noses touched as you breathed in heavily, torn whether or not to kiss him but you were scared someone would see. But it was just a kiss? Could anyone blame you if you just wanted a simple taste?
You leaned in closer, placing your lips on his as his lips melted into yours, pulling out the kiss. Damon placed his hand on your face, allowing him to hold you. A tight feeling in your chest spread heat through your entire body, compelling you to completely give into his touch.
When you slowly pulled away, he rested his head against your forehead, his gaze on your as you panted in silence.
‘I think I like you, Miss Watson.’
‘I’ve liked you the second I set eyes on you, Mister Salvatore. This kiss only proved how I felt, even if it meant that I would sin for you.’
‘Very inappropriate, Miss Watson.’ Damon lectured with jest.
‘Indeed.’

Summary -> Damon makes breakfasts for you with your daughter after he comforts her from a bad dream (1k)
Warnings -> fluff, mentions of Damon’s past and death, child abandonment
damon salvatore works other tvd works masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life as a vampire deprived those turned of many thugs, the greatest punishment for Damon being unable to have children. He had always thought when he was much younger that when he met a nice woman he would have the ability to settle down, and give her the greatest gift of all in the form of a child.
But when he met you, the blessing of a child had already fallen upon you prior to meeting Damon. It hurt him knowing that he could never be a father of his own, but without Tiff having a male parent in the picture, it gave Damon the opportunity to step up. He awoke from his heavenly slumber from being shaken restlessly on his bare shoulder by a small hand that was no doubt pining for his attention.
As his eyes peeled open, as expected he was met with the sight of Tiff. Her wide blue eyes were staring up at him, and if he had no recollection of his past, from a few attributes of her appearance he would have been convinced that she was his long lost daughter. "Tiffy, why are you up so early sweetie?"
In her presence, he felt like a whole new man. He forgot all the terrible things he had done as his sole focus was on her. "I couldn't sleep Damon..." Her voice was small and it trailed off into a silence that scared the man before her. It pained him to hear her minuscule heart having a rave in her chest, yet simultaneously he was comforted that she found solace in her sleepless state in him.
You remained comatised in the depths of your dreams as Dam0n helped Tiff up onto the bed, she laid between the both of you, hugging on of the pillows on the bed. "I get bad dreams sometimes too."" He confided in her, reaching to hold her hand with his own. She gripped it tightly, fearful as though Damon would disappear from beside her.
"What are they about? Your bad dreams I mean..." Tiff was a very inquisitive child, and was well educated in her speech for her age. He would never answer her question truthfully, there were far too many sins he had partaken in. There was guilt wrapped around the remainder of his soul like a parasite, and most things he had done were too violent to share. The little girl before him deserved to keep her innocence, she was a the purest light in his life, and he refused to corrupt her.
"Well Tiffy, when I was younger, so a really long time ago, me and my brother would play around the garden with a football. Neither him or my dad if he dared dirty his clothes never let me win. And I miss my mom, she wasn't in my life then, she left us... me." To know Lily hadn't died but in fact abandoned him and. Stefan only pained him furthermore, it had been her choice to leave him in the custody of his neglectful father.
"Oh. Mine was you left mommy and me, like my real daddy did." His heart ached from hearing her words. "You're kinda like my dad, aren't you? You're here protecting us, and you make the bad dreams go away. Do you think mommy's having a good or bad dream?" To think she saw him as a parent figure made Damon feel proud about his journey, he'd come such a long way and finally, he had everything that he had ever wanted.
In reply to her enquiry his eyes trailed past Tiff and rested on his beloved. Your face was rested peacefully atop of the pillow beneath your head, strands of hair laying softly on your cheek. It was a rare occasion that you weren’t unconsciously kicking him, but he guessed that your maternal instincts sensed that your daughter was between the two of you.
“A good dream.” He answered her, thinking about how perfect his life was in the moment. “But it’d be even better if we woke her up with some brekkie.” He insisted as he laid a kiss on Tiff’s hairline, helping her clamber off from the mattress gently, as to not awaken you prematurely. They trailed through the hallway and down the stairs to the kitchen, Damon picking Tiff up and sitting her on the countertop. “What do you think we should make, kid?”
“Pancakes!” The child exclaimed, and Damon had to remind her to be soft with her voice as you were still sleeping upstairs. Or so they thought… your bare feet had followed the route they had taken some moments later, and as they made use out of the frying pan, you watched the two of them from the doorway. A small part of you had wished they’d woken you up so that you could join them and teach them some culinary skills that would deplete the mess they had made around them, however the sight you had was everything.
The three of you were one big happy family. “And the two of you are making what exactly?” Halloween costumes would have been your first guess for when they spun around, the flour that they had used as an ingredient illuminated the high points of their faces. Tiff gave you a toothy smile as Damon blew you a kiss before returning to the pan that was hissing for his attention.
“We’re making pancakes, right daddy?” You froze, and Damon ignored that the cooking breakfast required a flip to its other side when the title escaped her mouth. She had never called Damon that before, but it justified Damon’s appearance of flour on his face and a towel slung over his shoulder. “Is that okay baby?” Damon asked you with uncertainty tied around his tongue.
You stood there, remembering all of the milestones and moments that Tiffany’s biological father had missed but Damon had been there for. She loved drives in his Camaro, he’d take her out for ice cream after he collected her from kindergarten thinking you didn’t know but you did. It was difficult to be against Damon being her ‘daddy’, because in all aspects he was. “It’s more than okay. But I don’t think the breakf- sorry, brekkie is; smells like it’s burning.”

Damon Salvatore x wife reader
Where all she does is wheeze
She laughs at everything and all she does is wheeze and snort while crying for like 30 minutes straight as Damon looks at her and can't stop himself from laughing
Everyone just walks into the Salvatore home and asks what she's laughing about as they start laughing
Damon just shrugs and says
"she saw something hilarious on her phone and now she won't stop wheezing."
And like a little part where he says
"that's my wife." Like a 'i married that thing' LOLL
I just need this, I wheeze so much that it's an issue
GIRL SAME.
Funny - Damon Salvatore
Warnings: none.

Damon never understood why you found the smallest things the most hilarious. It was strange to him that you could watch someone trip over and break into fits of laughter right before his eyes in the centre of town. Of course, he found similar things funny, but not in the way you did. It would be impossible to stop your fits of laughter once they began, and he just had to let you ride it out when they happened. It did make him feel good, however, that with every joke he told, you would burst into a cackling bundle of joy. He adored it, even when others found it a little strange.
It was one of those days when Damon entered the living room to you, sitting on the couch with your phone in hand. It all seemed normal, or as normal as it could be in the Salvatore house, when he heard a small snort from across the room. It came from you, he knew that much, and when he turned to get a good look at your figure, you were lost in the humour of whatever you'd just seen before he could stop it. You had collapsed lying on the couch now as you wheezed like you couldn't catch your breath. It was continuous and soon you fell from the piece of furniture, landing with a loud thump on the floor.
"What's got you this time?" He strolls up to you with an amount of swagger no one else can muster, but he's close to bursting out in laughter himself just at the sight of you on the floor. He snatches your phone from your hands, and you don't protest, slamming your hand on the carpet repeatedly as you continue to lose yourself in the situation. Damon eyes the screen of your phone, watching the video that had turned his wife into the wheezing mess that you were. It's a dog as far as Damon can tell, and as the video progresses, he watches said animal fall down a set of stairs. He watches the dog roll and smiles to himself, before turning his gaze to you again. "Funny dog?" He questions and you manage to lift your head enough to nod through your laughter. You've got tears streaming down your face now, and you're holding your stomach from the cramps of it all. And just like that, you've got Damon going too. He finds himself lost in laughter, crouching to the floor to try and lift you to your feet. "C'mon, up you get." It's hard for him to say because he can't entirely keep himself upright as he chuckles, but he manages as you grasp onto him tightly, still lost in your loud excessive wheezing.
"He—he fell. He just rolled." Your words come as gasps and Damon is cackling now, allowing you to collapse again because in truth there is no amount of strength that can keep you from rolling on the floor when you're like this.
"What the hell is going on?" Somehow Stefan has found his way into the room, a deep frown covering his features more than usual as he watches you roll around once more, unable to stop. Damon turns his head, grinning wide at his brother.
"She saw a dog fall down some stairs, it really got her going." He snorts as he says it, thinking about the video himself, and the way you're currently reacting to it. You've spent years with Damon doing things like this, and he remembers the day he made fun of the way Stefan decided to dress for your and Damon's wedding day. You'd absolutely lost it at the altar, and it took around twenty minutes to get the ceremony back on track.
"She's going this crazy over a dog?" Stefan is leaning against the doorframe looking more than just unimpressed, though Damon is loving the show of it all, especially the quiet moments where you try and catch your breath, only to continue laughing seconds later.
"It wasn't just any dog Stefan; it was a dog falling down some stairs." Damon pats his brother on the shoulder as he approaches, standing beside him as he watches you work yourself up over the thing. His face aches with the length of time he's spent grinning, and he finds himself chuckling again as you let out a long, loud wheeze. And then you go quiet, breathing slowly as you calm down. But Damon loves the sound of your laugh, the genuine sound of your joy, so he starts you up again.
"He just rolled down those stairs, right baby?"
"He rolled!" You shout back, the last syllable morphing into yet another wheeze before your back at it, rolling around and grasping your cramping stomach.
"You seriously married her, you know that right?" It's Stefan again, and his gaze goes back and forth between your figure and Damon's, entirely confused by the whole situation. Damon seems to smile wider at the mention of that because the concept of forever with you, and a hundred more moments like this just sounds perfect to him.
"Hell yeah, I did. That's my damn wife." And Stefan doesn't understand it, but Damon couldn't care less as he moves forward to meet you again, crouching at your side once more. He pulls you up into a sitting position, and you grasp his arms, as you try and keep yourself steady.
"He was so cute, but he just couldn't make it down those stairs." You're still gasping, your words coming in short bursts as you wheeze over and over, laughing until your ribs feel as though they're on fire, and Damon joins you because he can't think of anything better.

The Fourth Day Of Smutmas

~ Santa Clause Is Coming To Town ~
Klaus Mikaelson x fem!Vampire Reader
Summary: When Klaus mysteriously returns from New Orleans, the Mystic Falls gang worries about what he’s planning, though his only plan is to convince you to join him for Christmas in The Big Easy, by any means necessary. Starting with lavish gifts, attention, and affections, and ending with his mouth wherever you wish it.
- Klaus is obsessed but not in a creepy way, vampire reader, platonic Damon x Reader & Stefan x Reader -
Warnings: 18+ Content!!Spoiling(gift giving, promises etc),ig kinda manipulation if you squint,f!Receiving Oral.
It was no secret that when Klaus first came to Mystic Falls he had only one thing on his mind, breaking his curse. But when he first saw you from behind the eyes of Alaric, he knew there was….something….so he of course ignored it. By the second time he came around you knew all about him and he you, something about you lingered with him, leading him to look into your past which only hooked him on further.
He was a forward man, anything he wants he goes for, so naturally he was hounding you left and right for the better part of year while him and his siblings ran rampant in your town. Though you were mysteriously never hurt, mentally or physically, something that didn’t go unnoticed by you. By the time Klaus was told of a plot against him in New Orleans, you were ready to accept him, his faults and all, and before he reluctantly left, you shared a heated kiss that stuck with the hybrid even all this time later.
Despite trying to disconnect himself and keep you safe from the enemies after his family and city, he couldn’t stop himself from calling you every once in a while, only feeding his desires to see you, feel you, smell you, for you. By the time Hope’s second Christmas started approaching, he realized she’d be starting to remember them soon, and decided you just had to be there so began planning to get you to enjoy the Holidays with him.
“Uh guys, you might….well you are gonna be upset but I need to tell you something,” Your voice was small and weak as you entered the main room of the Salvatore Boarding House where Stefan and Damon sat drinking bourbon. Damon, rude as usual, ushered you to speak faster as you tried to sputter out the words to tell them Klaus had left you a voicemail in the early hours of the morning to announce his eminent arrival.
“Well you see…” You were cut off by the sound of the large wooden door opening behind you allowing Klaus to saunter in with his usual air of confidence, swinging an arm over your shoulder with a smile that didn’t show his teeth, eyeing the brothers in front of him as though daring them to question his entry into their home.
“Oh come on….why the hell has Santa Klaus come to town,” Damon mocked, scoffing out a laugh as he chugged down the rest of his bourbon, standing from his seat, eyeing you with disappointment before returning his attention to the much stronger man, “We’re having one peaceful, happy, bullshit free Christmas this year and nowhere in that is the Original Hybrid needed,” Damon swayed his hands in a mocking manner as he spoke, he was coaxing him, he wanted to anger him and wanted to prove to you Klaus would rip his head off in a matter of seconds if it weren’t for you.
“Oh Damon,” Klaus sighed condescendingly with a shake of his head, “I’ve only come for y/n, she’s needed for my family’s….what’d you call it…” He feigned a questioning look as his eyes shifted around the room, “ah yes peaceful, happy, bullshit free Christmas, so if you don’t mind….”
“Woah woah woah, what do you mean? You can’t just swoop in and take y/n like she’s your property,” Stefan piped up, scoffing slightly as he crossed his arms over his chest despite Klaus’ eyebrows shot up his forehead to eye the much younger vampire.
“You are so dramatic,” Klaus laughed with a smile that didn’t meet his eyes, clearing his throat before continuing, “I haven’t come to kidnap her, I’ve come to ask her you idiot, and even if I had planned to walk in here and take her….neither of you could stop me.” Klaus was never fond of you living with the Salvatores, especially Damon, but he also recognized their close bond to you and their obvious love for you. He wouldn’t hurt them unless they hurt you, he knew you would never forgive him for that and he just would not stand for that.
With a roll of your eyes you tugged Klaus’ hand, pulling him down the hall away from the brewing argument and toward your large bedroom. “Why’s this room so close to Damon’s?” Klaus’ narrowed, distrusting eyes seemed to search the room and hallway before shutting the wood against the frame and turning back to you.
“He likes to be closer so he can hear if somethings happening faster….he’ll deny that though,” you chuckle awkwardly, you hadn’t been alone with Klaus in almost two full years. Your eyes fell to his hands as he dig into his coat, tugging out a long, silver wrapped box with a golden bow on top, so neatly done that you were sure he had compelled someone to do it perfectly.
“I got you something, come here” He ushered you towards him with two of his fingers. His gravely, authoritative voice you loved so much sending shivers down your spine as you approached, unable to deny him of anything he asked of you in that tone. “There’s more waiting for you under my tree in New Orleans.” Klaus calmly stated, making you cringe slightly as you approached him, stopping only a foot in front of him before speaking.
“Look Nik, I’m sure that whatever that is is lovely and I’m sure all the others are too but if you’re only giving me that to get me to come back with you than I can’t accept it.” You sighed, meeting his eyes for only a second before watching your feet. Klaus stepped forward, almost pressing against you as the air grew warmer, gripping your chin and forcing you to meet his eyes again, genuinely smiling down to you once you did.
“No Love….this is yours whether you come with or stay and if you don’t accept my invite I’ll bring the rest to you. Whatever happens to them after is up to you, leave them, open them, donate them, whatever you want,” His warm hand moved to yours, shoving his gift box into your palm as he watched you expectantly, your brows scrunched together as you narrowed your eyes at him before realizing he was being honest.
You tore through the paper cautiously with a smile, revealing the long black velvet box that opened to reveal a simple golden necklace with a simple wolf charm in the middle, “I usually go for diamonds but I know my girl well enough to know you’d prefer both,” he stated simply before pulling out another perfectly wrapped silver package, this time much smaller. You wasted no time in ripping through and opening the small box to reveal a ring with a thin silver band adorned with a large diamond.
Your eyes shot up to his as you removed the ring from it’s confines with a shocked expression, “Now I know what you’re probably thinking, but when I propose to you that rock will me much larger and,” As he waved a hand around your room with slight grimace on his face, “we’ll be in be a much more extravagant setting….Paris perhaps?”
“Nik….this is too much I….” You couldn’t form words as you looked between the pieces of jewelry, “I can’t accept these not when Hope is so young and Hayley she deser-“ Klaus laughs at your response, eyeing you as though to ask you a question simply with his eyes, before chuckling again with a soft apology.
“Do you really think I can’t get all my favorite girls their gifts? Trust me Hope and Hayley will have plenty of presents, in fact they’re next to yours right now, if you want to get going I’m sure you’ll see them.” Klaus waved his hand towards your door, looking to you expectantly as though waiting for you to walk out before him.
“I can’t just leave with you out of nowhere Klaus,” You sighed, setting your gifts down on your bedside table before rubbing at your eyes as the man stood in front of you again, waiting for a different response, “It- it’s not that I don’t want to okay….I just can’t.”
“Why not?” He asked, his eyebrows scrunched in confusion, his voice exasperated as he turned his hands up dramatically, “Come on what’s keeping you from leaving with me? I’ll keep you safe.” His voice was growing strained, he was beginning to plead with you now, grabbing at your sides as if to remind you of his ability to shield you from harm.
“My friends are here Klaus, the only real friends I’ve had for over a century, I’m not just leaving them” You spoke, narrowing your eyes to him as though asking him to reveal a hidden meaning before turning away from his touch and avoiding his pleading eyes by tiding your bed covers, adding in a small voice, “My friends who do not trust you with me by the way.”
“It’s not like you’ll never see them again, I’m not trying to hold you captive I’m trying to give you a nice Christmas.” You could hear in his voice that he was upset, he was losing patience and wanted, no needed, a flat out response, “Love, please I’m practically begging on my knees here”
“Maybe you should be on your knees,” you joked under your breath without thinking about the mans enhanced hearing well beyond yours or the vampires you’re usually around, only realizing your mistake when you turned to find his eyebrows that had shot up his forehead in surprise. His eyes trailed down your body and back up again, reading you to make sure he heard you correctly before speaking, “Sit.”
“Wha-“ His deep, dark eyes locked into yours in a silent order, halting your question before it was formed as you immediately flopped down on the bed behind you. Your wide eyes followed his actions as he slowly grew closer to the bed with purposeful steps, “You’ll be a Good Girl and tell me to stop when you don’t like what I’m doing won’t you?”
You nodded your head in understanding, putting a halt to his agonizingly slow steps as his head tilted to the side in a questioning and demanding stare, “Yes I will,” You stuttered, your throat beginning to dry, your head falling back to maintain eye contact as Klaus stopped in front of you, just to drop to his knees. His warm, rough hands surrounded your ankles, tugging them apart lightly to settle himself between your legs, his eyes never leaving yours. He smelled intoxicating, his scent wrapping you in a blanket of comfort as his hands slowly rubbed up and down your legs, stopping just before the hem of your dress each time. “Please y/n. Will you please come to New Orleans for Christmas, it’ll make my year.”
“I don’t kneel for just anyone and I think you know that,” as he spoke it felt as though his power he prided above anything for 1,000 years began to seep out of him and into you, “You’re the only woman on this planet that I can’t get out of my head, I’ve had women on every continent drooling at my feet for the better part of a millennium but you, my Darling, are the only one I will ever drool over.” Your resolve was beginning to crumble, the feeling of his soft kisses to the top of your legs between words had you sighing in contempt, your confidence growing with each second.
“What can I do to get you to join me hm?” He punctuated himself with a kiss to the center of your thigh, moving his lips higher before he spoke again, “I’ll buy you anything, I’ll do anything.”
Your hand melted into his stawberry curls, watching his lips form a smile as he realized he’d won, “You seem to love using your mouth….so maybe start there.” His eyes shot to yours, chuckling to himself at your false dominance, he loved being in control and whether you realized it yet or not, he was.
Your back slammed against your mattress in less than a second, Klaus’ firm hand held against your stomach, using his hybrid strength to keep you down. He vibrated against you with pure energy, growling against the flesh of your thigh while kissing a trail to your core, eyes going a golden yellow as the scent of your arousal filled his senses. You leant up on your elbows to watch him, the feel of his prominent fangs that would scare almost anyone else scraping your skin with each featherlight kiss building an ache in your lower abdomen, the sense of danger was overwhelming, knowing that at any moment he could dig into you, infecting you with his venom just so he could taste you. The thought of him losing control and having to cure you from the toxin with his blood had you subconsciously tugging your lip between your own fangs that surfaced from your gums at the sight of him shoving your dress upward once his lips met it.
His fingers effortlessly slipped into your lace underwear, filling the room with the sound of ripping fabric before delving into you with his expert tongue, forcing your hips to jolt up against his hold on you, “Holy fucking shit,” Klaus immediately began drawing figure eights on your desperate clit, sighing in pleasure at just your taste and immediately needing more.
You were dripping for him, filling the room with the sound of your pleasure as he lapped against you, focusing on the strokes of his tongue against your center the same way he would a brush against art. Your high was fast approaching, faster than ever before, you wigged against his grip desperately trying to ease the growing tension in your body but he didn’t let up. Fingernails digging into your flesh as you legs shook, your eyes screwed shut, falling back onto the bed with a sigh of a moan attempting to will yourself to last longer, to prolong your pleasure as though you would never feel it again.
His strokes danced between your entrance and your puffy, needy clit he was beginning to adore, wishing to give you a teaser of what awaited you in his bed in his city. His lips sucked around you, egging on your moans of pleasure from above him until they turned into small whimpers and whines of need. Your mind was hazy, it’s only focus being the tickle of his beautiful hair against your thighs, the scratch of his stubble marking your flesh as his perfect, silver tongue pulled out the first of many shaking orgasms he would give you as his Queen.
“You taste absolutely amazing,” He pushed himself forward, weighing down the bed beside you as you tried to regain focus, “If you pack quickly you may get another gift before we leave.” He chuckled, smacking at your still exposed thigh before pulling you into a desperate kiss he’d waited far too long for.

Unfortunately, a bad cold ends up messing with their witchy-woo enough that they need to stay home and rest, instead. "Damon, if you don't get out of my way-"
"What? What are you gonna do? You're sick as a dog right now Y/N, you couldn't even hex me if you tried!"
I growled in frustration and threw my hands up in the air. "Our friends are out there risking their lives right now! I can't stand being cooped up in here, so get the hell out of my way."
"No."
"Ugh!" I threw my hands up in the air, but Damon didn't budge. I huffed and stomped around a bit, but his expression didn't soften at all. Finally, I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Fine. If you're gonna be such a pain in the ass, then I'm gonna go take a nap instead of spending time in here with you. Goodnight."
I spat the last word, then turned on my heel and headed for my bedroom. In truth, I had absolutely no intention of taking a nap. I just needed my babysitter to think that was the plan so I could sneak out behind his back while he wasn't paying attention.
I slammed my bedroom door behind me, then rustled the sheets loudly like I was flopping into bed. I waited a few beats, ruffled the sheets again like I was laying there and trying to get comfortable, then waited again. Finally, when I decided I'd waited long enough, I crept across the floor to the window.
Slowly, carefully, and like I'd done more than once in high school, I eased the window open. It was completely silent, and I stepped out onto the roof with practiced ease. I walked to the edge of the roof and eased over it until I hung on by just my fingers, my feet dangling above the porch. I still really didn't feel great thanks to my cold, so it was a little harder than usual, but nothing I couldn't handle.
Finally, when I felt confident in my position, I let go and dropped down to the porch in triumph.
I found Damon standing in front of me with his arms crossed, staring at me and clearly not impressed.
"Did you really think that trick was gonna work on me?" he deadpanned.
"Dammit Damon! Get out of my way, I'm going to help my friends."
I tried to storm past him, but I didn't get very far. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, then started heading for the front door of the house.
"Not on my watch!" he said, his tone entirely too cheery for the mood I was currently in.
Once we were back in the house, he dumped me unceremoniously on the couch, then started heading for the kitchen.
"You lay there and rest," he ordered. "I'll make you some soup or something-"
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I finally demanded, shouting despite my sore throat as I popped back onto my feet and glared at him. He stopped in the kitchen doorway and stared back at me with a raised eyebrow, but my scowl only got more fierce.
"What do you mean?" he asked, his tone making it clear he thought I was being crazy. I clenched my fists and took a few furious steps towards him.
"I mean, who the hell are you, because you're sure as hell not being Damon Salvatore right now!" Damon scoffed and rolled his eyes, and I knew he had some witty retort on the tip of his tongue, but I jumped in before he could say it. "I've personally seen you cajole Bonnie into the middle of danger and heart-stopping spells when she's on the verge of death. You'll send Matt off to be bait with no defense at the drop of a hat. Tyler, Caroline, even Stefan! If they can be of help, you don't try to stand in their way, even if they should be resting instead of world-saving. But with me? You're a helicopter parent!"
"Y/N..." he warned, taking a few steps towards me. We were almost face to face now, but I wasn't stopping at all. In fact, I was just getting started.
"No, I mean it!" I cried. "I have a cold, and yeah, it might make it harder for me to throw down like I usually do, but it's not like I'm completely bedridden! And yet here you are, barely letting me off the couch for some fear that I'll drop dead if I do more than breathe! So why? You just want to get on my nerves that badly, that you've decided to keep me from helping our friends? You want to mess with me? So much that you're here, stopping me from sneaking out like a high schooler in a teen movie, instead of helping your brother fight something that could very well kill him? Why the hell would you do that?"
"Because I'm in love with you!"
He shouted it back with the same frustration and exasperation that I'd had in my tone. He'd been getting more and more worked up as I'd laid into him, and apparently he just couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm in love with you, Y/N, alright? So much so that I'm here, making you soup, instead of with my brother. So yes, I am hovering, but it's because I care. And because you don't know your limits at all. The number of times Bonnie's had to step in to save you from an overwhelming spell when you're healthy is so high I can't count it on one hand, and if you go out right now and push yourself past the point of no return, I'd never be able to live with myself for letting it happen. Never."
I just stared at him as he finished his speech. He was breathing hard, and it was clearly my turn to say something, but I couldn't process the confession I'd just received. After a few moments of stunned silence, I finally managed to choke out the obvious.
"You're in love with me?"
"Yes, Y/N. I'm in love with you. And I know you hate me, but-"
"Whoa, whoa, wait. I don't hate you. Damon, I've never hated you. I mean, I've definitely wanted to kill you a few times, but... but I actually like you too. Like, a lot." My heart beat faster at the admission, even though Damon had literally just told me he felt the same way.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Yeah, really. At this specific moment, I'm a little frustrated with you, but on the whole? Yeah."
Damon stared at me for a few seconds, his blue eyes piercing mine and an expression of awe on his face as he took me in. Then, in a flash of vampire speed, he crossed the room and wrapped me in his arms. I laughed as he pulled me to him, a devilish smirk on his face.
"Well, in that case, I don't want to waste any more time," he said. He leaned in to close the distance between us, aiming for a kiss, but I put my hands on his shoulders and stopped him. He raised an eyebrow in silent question.
"I have a cold, remember?" I said. "I don't want to get you sick."
"Sweetheart, I have fantastic news for you. Vampires don't get sick."
"Wait really?" He nodded. "Holy shit that's awesome!"
"I agree."
With that, he leaned in again, and this time I didn't stop him. It felt a little crazy to be kissing Damon Salvatore, but I also absolutely couldn't say I minded. Even if Bonnie was going to kill me for it later.
After a few seconds, we broke apart. Even if I couldn't pass my cold to Damon, I was still sick, and I just didn't have the energy for a dramatic, romantic make out session after a confession of love.
Thankfully, Damon could tell. When we pulled apart he kept his arms wrapped around me, then smiled at me, blissful happiness written all over his face.
"Wanna watch some dumb movies while I make us some hot soup?" he finally asked. I sighed, leaning into his chest.
"That sounds perfect."
"Good. C'mon, let's get you to the couch." He kissed the top of my head, then walked me over to the most comfortable spot on the couch. I settled into the cushions and blankets as he started queuing up one of my favorite movies. I smiled to myself as I watched him, feeling a sense of peace and belonging I never would've thought to associate with Damon before.
"This is gonna sound really lame," I mused as Damon finished setting up the movie and then headed for the kitchen. "But honestly, this is my ideal first date."
I heard Damon snort from the kitchen, and it only made me smile wider. And just like that, I found myself perfectly happy to sit here with Damon and rest a little. The dangers and challenges of Mystic Falls would still be waiting when I was healthy, after all. And now I'd be facing them with Damon as my partner instead of my adversary.
We were going to be unstoppable together. The supernatural world would have to watch its back.

The Salvatore house towers before you. Although you’ve been inside many times before, and have thus been regularly acquainted with the dark wood carvings, the twisting staircases, the centuries of history from the upper echelons of vampire consciousness, it’s still something of a sight to behold.
You’re headed there now, trading in the sunny outdoors for the cool and dimly lit interior. Another supernatural threat has come to plague the streets of Mystic Falls, another reason for your previously perfect summer to be ruined once again. You swear these issues come every few months, just like clockwork. You think you’re fine, someone goes missing. All is well, one of your friends turns up dead.
That’s cynical thinking, however, and you don’t have the time to be anything but optimistic. That’s how you stick around in this city, or even in this world for that matter. If you let yourself get dragged down by the fact that vampires will walk this earth long after your bones disintegrate to dust, you’ll never get over it.
So, you stick to the superficialities, and choose to face your problems as they come. This one is particularly interesting– an unfamiliar symbol showing up out of nowhere, carved onto tree trunks in the forests nearby. Elena Gilbert found the first one while she was out on a run, then Bonnie Bennett was heading home from a trip to the Mystic Grill when she stumbled upon a second one.
If you’ve learned anything in your time with the supernatural in Mystic Falls, it’s that patterns are never good. Something like this, strange things happening multiple times, can only spell trouble. Elena brought up the symbols to Stefan, who seemed to recognize them. Unfortunately, he’s out on some business with Klaus so he won’t be of much use until the end of the weekend.
Most of your friends seem content to let the strange symbols rest until the apparent resident expert comes back. You’ve got some time to kill and a startlingly strong desire to not be murdered by the latest threat to come your way, so you’ve decided to take the investigation into your own hands. If Stefan’s seen the symbols before, then he’s probably written about them, too. In truth, you weren’t expecting the struggling Ripper to be such a journal addict, but it does come in handy for research purposes.
You arrive at the Salvatore house at last, and stand there for a moment, staring at the expanse of it. When you knock once upon the door, no one answers. You reach for the knob and the door swings open at the smallest touch, so well oiled that it doesn’t let out even the smallest of squeaks from the ancient hinges. The entire house is eerily quiet, full of nothing but drifting beams of light and stray motes of dust hanging in the air.
You peer inside, but upon still seeing nobody, decide to head inside. It’s not like you haven’t been here before, and from what you can tell the Salvatore brothers have a sort of open door policy when it comes to supernatural threats. If something might kill you, all bets are off for etiquette.
Your footsteps seem to echo through the cavernous front hall, ricocheting off of the deep wood of the walls and through the empty rooms. You close the door behind you, and the click of the latch seems devastatingly loud in comparison to the solitude of this ghost town.
You walk further into the room, although it’s hard not to feel the smallest bit of unease as you go. It’s not like Mystic Falls to ever be quiet for long– there’s always something happening, someone coming or going to make your days far from uneventful.
As you’re crossing into the main living room, you swear you hear the faintest of noises interrupt the relentless silence. It’s like a breath of wind, except all the windows are closed. In fact, it seems almost like someone moving very quickly behind you, except no one could be there at all, unless–
“How’s the prettiest person in the world doing today?”
A voice right beside you, just a few inches out of your line of sight. You force yourself to remain perfectly calm, although you’re certain that the vampire behind you can hear the jump of your heartbeat due to his sudden arrival.
“I don’t know,” you reply as easily as you can, “how are you?”
The vampire groans with irritation, disappearing again to whoosh in front of you. Suddenly, there’s a dark haired man leaning against the fireplace, arms crossed over his chest as he regards you with clear and evident vexation.
“Why can’t you ever react properly?” He asks, “I’m clearly trying to scare you. Be scared.”
You crack a grin. “Can I offer you a pro tip, Damon? For a jump scare to work, you have to actually be scary.”
Damon Salvatore, for of course it is he, gives you a sour look. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m incredibly scary. I’ve killed people before.”
“This is Mystic Falls,” you remind him, “Everybody’s killed people. It’s kind of surprising if you haven’t committed a murder or two at this point. The town is crawling with vampires, ethics are a thing of the past.”
“You’re so optimistic,” Damon comments happily, “It makes me feel so encouraged to be around you. By the way, why am I around you? Not that I don’t mind you breaking and entering, but usually people have a reason for showing up out of the blue. If you’re here to rob me, I can gladly point you to the Salvatore family heirlooms.”
You snort. “If I was interested in the Salvatore family heirlooms, I’d start pocketing the sterling silver during all the other times you guys have called me here to discuss imminent danger. Once Stefan gets going on the moral implications of helping people, I could take whatever I wanted.”
“True,” Damon muses, “I’ve tried to beat his conscience out of him with a stake, but it’s never really worked.”
“You still have plenty of time for beatings,” you reassure him, “but unfortunately I’m not here to discuss brother based violence. I’m here for research.”
You swear Damon’s face falls. “You’re not here to talk to me, then? I think I’m hurt.”
You tap him comfortingly on the shoulder as you walk by. “Oh, I always enjoy our little chats, but my world doesn’t completely revolve around you, you know.”
“It doesn’t?” Damon asks, feigning confusion.
“It doesn’t,” you remind him, “It actually revolves around not getting murdered by whatever weirdo is out there marking up our woods. We have two reports now of strange runes appearing on trees in the forest right nearby. I want to know what they are before some freaky serial killer decides to slaughter the lot of us.”
You walk towards a tall bookcase at the far side of the living room and start pulling out journals. To your surprise, Damon follows you, idly picking up a worn book or two and peering at the spine.
“You think Stefan has any idea of what to do with this stuff?” He asks.
You lift a shoulder, stacking the journals on a nearby table before returning for more. “Elena texted him a photo. Apparently they seemed somewhat familiar to him. I figured checking his writings was as good a chance as any to figure out what’s going on. He already gave me the all clear to read his memoirs, don’t worry about that.”
“Oh, I would never worry about Stefan’s emotional privacy,” Damon remarks casually, “I’ve ransacked these things for hot gossip a long time ago.”
You bite back a laugh at that. “And? Find anything interesting?”
Damon sighs dramatically. “No, just a bunch of pining over a mortal life he’ll never get to lead and the war constantly waged on his soul between giving in and draining a bunch of people of blood versus trying to walk the straight and narrow. You’d find more exciting stuff in a telephone book.”
You chuckle. “Well, I’m not denying Stefan’s delight in moral torture, but it’s all I’ve got right now. Are you going to help or just make snide comments on your brother’s righteousness?”
“Can I do both?” Damon asks.
You grin. “Absolutely.”
Damon pulls out a chair for you at the table and takes one for himself right next to it. You grab the nearest journal and start flipping through it for signs of abnormal carvings. Damon seems to do the same, but you swear that his focus is less attuned towards the contents of the book and more on studying you when he thinks you aren’t paying attention.
Eventually, you catch him on it, glancing upwards just in time to meet his gaze, which is already locked on you. Damon looks away hurriedly, but it’s too late and he knows it.
Rather than try to explain himself, Damon puts down the mostly ignored journal in his hand and looks at you. “Why are you here, Y/N? Be honest. You could have Googled ‘weird symbols on trees’ if you really wanted to, or come with Caroline or someone else if Stefan’s diaries were your goal. Why show up alone, with no warning?”
You carefully set your book back on the table, but keep your gaze fixed steadily on its faded cover. For some reason, it’s far easier to look at the faint stitching than at the earnest expression on Damon’s face.
“I don’t know,” you begin tentatively, then correct yourself. “Actually, I do. I didn’t ask Caroline or Bonnie or anybody because I just wanted it to be me. I wanted you to be there, but I didn’t want to scare you off by asking directly.”
The corners of Damon’s mouth prick up slightly. “I’m not the type to be scared off by someone wanting to see me, you know.”
You give him an irritated look, which only makes his smile broaden. “I know that, obviously, but– well, I didn’t know how you’d react if you knew how I really felt.”
Damon leans forward imperceptibly. You don’t even think he’s aware of the motion himself, merely that his entire being is somehow desperate to hear what you have to say. “And how do you feel?”
You hesitate for a moment, wavering on a knife’s edge of telling him or keeping your secrets until forever. Damon is used to the waiting, having already experienced his share of decades and centuries, but you’re different. You’re used to acting decisively and never waiting around long enough to consider the repercussions of what you might do, so that is precisely the path that you take now.
“I like you,” you breathe, “I like you a lot. I’m not supposed to, but I do. I’ve always liked you the best of anyone.”
When you dare to look up at Damon once again, he’s grinning at you. It’s not the usual sort of grin that Damon Salvatore likes to flash at people, all sharp teeth and the scent of blood, but something better, something warmer. It makes you think of a young man that had not always been a killer, who had grown up dreaming of getting old with a smile on his face. At this moment, Damon may still be a vampire, but his heart is well and truly human.
“Well,” he says as casually as he can, “it’s funny you mention that, because I happen to like you too. Quite a bit, actually. You make this all worth it, you know? I’m not used to having reasons to keep on going, Y/N, but I’d do it for you.”
You smile back at him, the expression far easier to summon up now that you know your life has well and truly changed for the better. “That’s very sweet of you, Damon. I thought you were supposed to be wickedly cruel and heartless.”
“It’s nice of you to be worried for my reputation,” he muses, “but I think I’d be alright with risking it for this.”
You’d be alright with risking quite a bit for Damon as well. Now that you know that he loves you just as much as you love him– well, there’s nothing you would let come in between the two of you. Judging by the glint in Damon’s eyes as he looks at you, you get the feeling he’s thinking the exact same thing.

hanahaki — damon salvatore x reader
Tumblr media
☄. *. ⋆
content warnings and genre: swearing, blood, death, diseases, unrequited love — angst
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
synopsis: 花吐き病, a disease that only a one-sided fairy tale can cause, because when damon won't give you the flowers, you grow them yourself
✧.*
the air was infused with the scent of blooming flowers, a fragile beauty that masked the impending tragedy that lay hidden within. there was once a time where roses that grew in your garden held a special place in your heart, and nowhere else. you relished in the moments you spent kneeling down in order to catch a sweet whiff of the devastatingly beautiful scent. when winter came, when they began to wither, you couldn't help but feel sorrowful.
you stood at the periphery of the salvatore mansion, your gaze fixated on the enchanting sight before you. damon salvatore, the enigmatic vampire with eyes like liquid darkness, moved with a grace that seemed to defy time itself. he was entwined in a dance of whispered words and stolen glances with elena gilbert, the woman who held his heart captive.
your heart fluttered with an ache you had grown accustomed to, a yearning that seemed to grow stronger with every stolen glance you cast upon the two lovers. damon's laughter, rich and intoxicating, echoed through the air, and you couldn't help but drink in every note as if it were a rare elixir. his devotion to Eeena was palpable, a force that bound them together with an unbreakable thread of destiny.
“they look great together, don't they?” you turned to see stefan by your side, smiling because he knew how much their happiness meant to him. you so desperately forced a smile, ignoring the way your breathing grew heavy as your gaze softened. “yeah,” you murmured, voice a mere whisper. “yeah, they do.”
as the days turned into weeks, your affection for damon remained a silent symphony, playing softly in the chambers of your heart. you watched him from the shadows, your presence unnoticed amidst the bustling chaos. you reveled in the mere seconds he spared for you, fleeting interactions that left an indelible mark on your soul.
the town itself seemed to mirror your emotions, as flowers of all kinds bloomed in profusion. yet, within you, a seed of despair took root, its tendrils creeping through your heart like delicate vines. unbeknownst to you, this burgeoning ache was mirrored within your very breath, as each inhale carried a hidden poison that would soon become an integral part of your existence.
it was a cool evening, the stars above twinkling like diamonds against the inky sky, when you dared to venture closer to the epicenter of your yearning. a masquerade ball had enveloped the salvatore mansion in an air of mystique, drawing guests from all corners of mystic falls.
you watched from the shadows, your masked visage concealing the hope and pain that swirled within your eyes. damon and elena moved through the crowd, a picture of grace and desire. their dance was one of undeniable connection, leaving you feeling as if you were but a specter in their world.
as the night waned and the moon hung low, you found yourself on the outskirts of the mansion's sprawling garden. moonflowers, their petals luminescent in the silvery light, bloomed in abundance. wiih a sigh, you plucked a single bloom, its delicate fragrance filling the air around you.
“gorgeous, aren't they?” you met stefan's eyes once more, his gaze nearly pitiful. he was aware of how much you yearned for his brother—how much you craved to be loved the way he loved elena. you turned back to the bundle of flowers, eyes glowing with admiration. “i love them,” you admitted, all the while knowing you had a different confession in mind. him. you loved damon.
stefan's lips curved in a gentle smile, though there was a tinge of sadness hidden behind his eyes. “moonflowers,” he murmured, his voice carrying a soft, almost melancholic quality. “they're said to bloom only at night, under the moon's tender gaze. but their beauty comes with a price.” he extended a hand to touch one of the petals, his fingers brushing against the delicate surface with a reverence that spoke of deeper understanding. you followed his lead, letting your fingers graze the petals of the moonflower. the texture was velvety, cool against your touch, and you couldn't help but think that it mirrored the complexity of the emotions swirling within you. “what price?” you asked, your voice hushed as if afraid to break the fragile tranquility that surrounded you both.
stefan's gaze turned distant, as if he were peering into a past filled with memories too painful to bear. “legend has it that moonflowers take their beauty from those who admire them,” he explained, his words carrying a weight you could sense even before he continued. “they absorb the heartache, the unspoken longing, and the unrequited love of those who stand in their presence.”
the truth of his words settled over you like a shroud, chilling and numbing. you stared at the moonflowers with a mixture of awe and trepidation, as if they held the key to your very existence. “do they take away the pain?” you whispered, your gaze flickering up to meet stefan's.
hia expression held a mixture of sympathy and empathy. “no,” he said softly, his voice carrying the weight of his own experience. “they bear witness to it. they hold it, absorb it, until the pain becomes an intrinsic part of them. but they cannot erase it.”
a silence hung between you, heavy with unspoken truths. you turned your gaze back to the moonflowers, their luminescence seeming to shimmer with an otherworldly light. it was as if they understood the depth of your emotions, as if they were waiting to cradle your secrets and carry them into the night.
“you're not alone in this,” stefan said, his voice a gentle reassurance. “i know what you feel.” your heart clenched at his words, a mixture of gratitude and sorrow flooding your senses. in that moment, you understood that the pain you carried was not a solitary burden—it was shared by another who knew the taste of unrequited love all too well. you knew he loved elena more than damon ever could.
as the days turned into weeks, the symptoms of your hidden affliction began to manifest. A persistent cough, dry and unyielding, echoed through the quiet chambers of your room. each breath you took seemed to carry a weight, as if the air itself had turned into a tangible reminder of your unspoken desires.
days turned into nights, and the moonflowers in the garden continued to wilt, their petals falling like tears that went unnoticed by all but you. the nights grew colder, the air carrying a heaviness that matched the weight on your chest. your coughs became more frequent, each one a reminder that the poison of unrequited love had taken root within you. the moonflowers had all but withered, their once-beautiful petals scattered like confetti of heartache upon the ground.
in the final throes of your affliction, you sought solace in the warmth of your bathtub, the water soothing against your skin. moonflower petals floated upon the surface, their delicate fragrance a reminder of the pain you had carried, the love you had hidden, and the sacrifices you had made. the coughing had grown more frequent, each fit more violent than the last, leaving you weak and trembling.
blood stained the water, a macabre dance of crimson against the white porcelain. each cough was a harsh reminder of the poison that had taken hold, the unspoken emotions that had finally found their voice in the form of bloodied petals.
as you leaned against the edge of the bathtub, your breathing labored and your body weakened, you felt a strange sense of peace settle over you. the moonlight filtered through the window, casting an ethereal glow upon your skin. you closed your eyes, your consciousness drifting between the realms of pain and serenity.
in the quiet of that moment, you felt a gentle pressure against your hand—a touch so light, it could have been a figment of your imagination. but then it came again, more persistent, and you slowly turned your head to see stefan sitting by your side. his gaze was filled with a mixture of sorrow and acceptance, a silent acknowledgment of the journey you had shared.
“i'm here,” he murmured, his voice a soft reassurance.
you managed a weak smile, your fingers curling around his hand. It was cold, a reflection of the reality that was slowly dawning upon you. “stefan,” you whispered, the word a fragile breath that carried the weight of a thousand unspoken sentiments.
his eyes met yours, and in their depths, you saw the depth of his affection, the extent of his understanding. he was not just a witness to your pain; he was a bearer of it, a partner in the silent symphony of longing that had played out in the shadows.
as your vision began to blur and the world around you faded, you felt a strange sense of release. the pain that had plagued you for so long was no longer yours to bear. and as you closed your eyes for the last time, you felt a single tear slide down your cheek, mingling with the petals that still clung to your skin.
when consciousness finally left you, stefan held your cold hand, his touch a poignant reminder of the connection you had shared. he stayed by your side, his gaze fixed upon your face, as if willing you to find peace in the afterlife.
but just as the sun began to paint the sky with the first hues of dawn, a harsh cough erupted from stefan's lips. he doubled over, a hand pressed to his mouth, and as he coughed, delicate petals of moonflowers tumbled to the ground—a mirror of the pain he had absorbed, the love he had carried, and the sacrifice he had made for you.
the ache that had bloomed within his heart was the same ache you had carried for his brother, and now, it was the ache that bound him to you in death.

do u write for damon? if u do can u pls write where he’s touchstarved and is dating reader who doesn’t like affection but since damon is affectionate towards her she got used to it but still hates it when other peoples touches her and damon is so smug about it
Tumblr media
Cute
Ive never been one for affection, PDA or anything. It’s taken a while for Damon to break down my walls.
Started off with little touched. His hand touching mine as he stood or sat beside me. Over time he managed to actually hold my hand without me putting up a fuss. Then he started seeing how close he could sit to me. Eventually he managed to have me pulled against him, sometimes on his lap if he was lucky. Often he had his head on my thigh or in my neck.
For some reason the other people in this town seem to think because he gets to be affectionate they can also start sitting really close, the other day Stefan put his arm around me. It was not on.
This morning i was downstairs sat on the couch with my feet up on the footstool. I was just sat on my phone minding my own business when Caroline strolls in and throws herself down next to me. Right next to me.
“Hey y/n, i was thinking, we should take a girls trip, me, you, Bonnie, Elena. What d’ya think?” She asked with a bright smile
“I think you could’ve asked me that over text” I murmured
“Yeah but i wanted to come see you” she smiled…and then she hugged me. She put her arms around me and pulled me towards her. I saw Damon walk in from the kitchen with a plate of food. The second he saw us the plate fell from his hands and he froze.
“Caroline. Get the fuck off of me right now”
Damon burst out laughing as Caroline backed off and he ushered her out of the house before returning and dropping to the sofa, his head in my lap making me run my fingers through his hair.
“I like when you get angry” he muttered with a grin
“People know I don’t like it, why do they insist on pissing me off?” I asked in distaste.
“Do i piss you off?” He questioned and i glanced down to him
“No…no you look cute so i cant be all that mad at you” i mumbled making him smile
“You think I’m cute?” He asked
“When you want to be yes” I murmured tracing his features with my fingers
“You’re cute too” he whispered and i scrunched my face up
“Please never say that again”
“You’re adorable”
“I hate you”
“I love you too”

love for the ages
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x reader
Summary: you’ve loved elijah for a thousand years, and you’ll love him for a thousand more
Word Count: 1.3k+

Tumblr media
✰  ✰  ✰
You’d known the Mikaelsons for a very long time. For almost your entire life you were one of them. Growing up with the Mikaelsons was something you look back on from time to time.
Being kids running through the trails, hiding out from the wolves in your village, and dueling with Niklaus and Elijah almost everyday just to put them in their place was your definition of a good life. Your family was nothing like the Mikaelson family. They were always so close knit, and they welcomed you with open arms.
You loved them dearly, but you loved one of them different from the rest.
Elijah Mikaelson was your love.
You had completely fallen for this Mikaelson brother, and you had fallen quite hard.
“(Y/N)!” Elijah called out, two swords in hand. You lightly smiled at him as he smirked and tossed you one of the blades.
“You challenge me to a duel?” You played. “You ought to be careful who you challenge around here Lijah,” you teased, “one day I won’t be so kind as to hold back.”
“Oh is that so?” He chuckled with an amused smile. He playfully wielded his sword and motioned you towards him. “Don’t hold back, m’lady.”
You giggled as you whipped the sword around, swinging it in circles as you’ve been practicing. Elijah watched with a proud smile on his face as you got into a fighting stance.
“You are not ready for what’s about to come Lijah,” you teased.
Before you could even begin a duel, Niklaus’ cry echoed through the village.
You and Elijah dropped your swords and ran out to where Niklaus was walking. The rest of the Mikaelson family came in tow from their shack.
You gasped as you took notice of what Niklaus carried in his hands. Their youngest brother Henrik dead in Niklaus’ arms.
Rebekah sobbed as she saw her smallest brother lifeless.
From that moment on, a lot had changed for the Mikaelson family.
After their mother Ester had turned them into vampires, she couldn’t bare the thought of losing you, the girl she called her other daughter.
After the Mikaelson family had all of their splits, and falling outs, and daggerings, you were still there, but you were there for one Mikaelson sibling more than the rest.
Elijah was absolutely, positively infatuated with you.
The more time you spent together, as time went on and the hours turned to days, the days to weeks, the weeks, to years, and the years to centuries with you, he couldn’t see you in any other light. You were the one for him.
It was late in the 1400s when Elijah finally expressed to you how he felt. You, him, and Niklaus were living together in Italy, and he had finally gotten the courage to explain just how much you meant to him.
A party was going around. Niklaus had thrown it in hopes of drawing out the doppelganger to break his timely curse.
As you danced with the strangers around you, Elijah watched from the wall.
“My, my, brother,” Niklaus tsked, “I’d thought that by now you’d have expressed your love for (Y/N).” He smirked as he watched his brother roll his eyes. “Or at least got the courage to pursue her.”
Elijah scoffed, “it is not as simple as you may think, brother. (Y/N) is the best kind of woman. She’s kind and delicate. Even after all we’ve been through, she manages to see the light in every situation.”
Elijah scanned his eyes over the room, a crowd of people surrounded you, all wanting to join in on the fun dance you are having. “She lights up every room, and people just want to be around her. She will meet a million people in this eternal lifetime, and I don’t want to get caught up with my feelings and end up losing her to one of them.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Lijah, why do you always have to be so negative?” Klaus scoffed. “Get over there and ask her to dance. I know for certain she will be swooning over you so hard she’ll forget how to even move her feet.”
Elijah chuckled at this, and took a few more minutes to watch you dance, thinking long and hard if he really wanted to do this. He decided he didn’t want to sit around and wait for some other man to sweep you off his feet. He wanted to be the one to do so.
In a flash, Elijah was off the wall and in the middle of the dance floor, right where you resided.
When you saw him beside you, your eyes lit up and a smile graced your face.
“My, my,” you teased, “I’d never thought I’d see the day where the Elijah Mikaelson joined me on the dance floor.”
Elijah chuckled and lightly rubbed the back of his neck. “It would have happened eventually, darling. We’ve got an eternity of life to live together.”
His eyes slightly widened as he heard what he said. “Not that I mean our lives together together like romantically, more that we’re both immortal and we happen to spend all of our time together. Us and Niklaus of course, but mainly us.”
Elijah was a stammering mess at this point, but that only made your heart rate pick up. You thought it was adorable when he got nervous around you. You liked that you were the only thing in this world that made him nervous.
“I know what you’re saying Lijah.” You smiled as you placed a hand on his shoulder. “Although, would it really be such a terrible thing?”
Elijah cocked his head in confusion. “Would... you mean would being together romantically be a bad thing?”
You nodded your head as you shyly waited for his response. You didn’t want to wait any longer. It had been centuries since you first started loving Elijah, and you didn’t want to sit behind these bottled up feelings any longer.
Elijah’s heart was racing. He was trying to find the words to say how he felt without joyfully screaming in your face.
He couldn’t contain his emotions, and a grin broke out onto his face. “(Y/N), I fear if I back out now I’ll never have another opportunity to tell you this.”
You stared into his eyes, your heart racing, pulsing out of your chest as you hang on to every word he says.
Elijah opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He blubbed like a fish before he shook his head and chuckled a little which made you giggle.
“I’m sorry, you just still make me nervous after all these years.” He confessed.
“I make you nervous?”
Elijah wet his lips as he stared down at yours. “Your beauty makes me nervous. Your confidence and your kindness pull me in. You intelligence and strength keeps me going. You are everything to me, (Y/N).”
Elijah never broke eye contact. As he poured his heart out to you, you could see in his eyes that he meant every last word of what he said.
“I love you, (Y/N).” He breathed out. “I’ve always loved you.”
That was just the beginning.
Since that day in the late 1400s, Elijah has always had you by his side.
Present day, almost a thousand years since you’ve first fallen for him, you still knew that he was the man you wanted to spend your eternity with. Elijah was just as loving and sweet as he was the day he confessed his love for you.
Once he had you, all he did was worship the ground you walked on. He wanted to be your best friend, your partner in crime, your lover, and your rock all in one.
And he was.
Elijah was everything you could have ever asked for, and you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your eternity with the man your heart belonged to.

You and Damon had been dating for a little while now and despite everything, people were still finding it hard to trust him, you didn’t blame them you were the same before he started trying to prove himself to you, since then he had saved you on many occasions and has not lied either (as far as you know). Damon was the one who had asked you to keep the relationship a secret, he said that he wanted you to get to know him for who he was and for the rest of your friends to learn to trust him on their own merit, some might have called you naive but you wanted to give him a chance.
Kathrine had become the new problem for you and your friends and while you were trying to stay out of the way given the fact that you were human she still managed to find you when you were on your own, it was one of the rare occasions that Damon hadn’t decided to meet you. “There you are!” You assumed that she was trying to pretend to be Elena but you had seen her already and even without having seen her this morning you would have known that she wasn’t Elena. “What do you want?” You asked. “You know who I am?” She asked. “I know that you're not Elena.” You said as you got out everything that you needed to start studying. “Alright then we can get down to the good stuff.” She smirked as she sat down at the table folding her hands together as she looked at you, “I know about you and Damon.” She said with a smirked and you looked at her for a second before going back to your notes. “Okay…” You mumbled as you started jotting down the things that were worth studying as you waited for her to speak again. “I’ll tell them.” She said as she leaned on her hand, you looked up at her again and shrugged. “What do you get from that?” You asked. “Well nothing apart from hurting you, but if you want me to keep the secret all you need to do is be my little spy.” She said and shook your head. “Go ahead and tell them, I never wanted to keep this a secret.” You answered, she looked at you for a second before sighing. “I really thought that was going to work, you're human so I have to be careful about where I hurt you otherwise they’ll all be asking questions.” She murmured more to herself than anyone else as she stood up and walked around the table to stand next to your chair. “I guess you can play off a broken arm.” She reached out to grab your arm but before she could come into contact with you someone else grabbed her. “Don’t even think about it.” You recognised the voice as Damon's; he pushed her away as he put himself between you and Katherine. “Damon, why are you ruining my fun?” She asked “I thought she was just your human toy… Surely you can still play with her if she’s a little broken?” “Get away from her.” Damon said again and this time she tutted before turning and walking away.
Damon turned to you once she was gone crouching and taking your face in his hands “are you okay?” He asked, looking over your face and hands for injuries. “Damon, someone's going to see Jeremy and Matt work here.” You reminded him. “I don’t care, answer me are you okay?” He asked drawing your attention back to him, you nodded once and he let out a breath. “What did she want?” “She wanted me to work as her spy, she probably thought that because I was human I’d be the easiest to manipulate but she tried blackmail first.” You explained. “What?” He asked. “She’s probably going to tell the others about us, I don’t know how she found out but she did.” You shrugged. “Don’t worry I’ll find a way to fix it.” He promised and you pulled back to catch his eye. “I’m not worried.” You said, his eyes shifted across your face as if trying to find a tell that you were lying and when he didn’t find anything he nodded. “Then we’ll deal with it.” Damon said as you nodded, he started grabbing all of your stuff and putting it in your bag. “What are you doing?” You asked. “You're coming back to the boarding house, you can study there.” He said. “Fine.” You said as he took your bag and followed you out of the door.

First Person POV
"So, I see a closed bar is where all buried guilt-ridden people come." I rolled my eyes once I heard his voice, it was not the voice I wanted to hear in this moment and I could practically feel his smirk radiating in the room.
"Damon. Pleasure to see you again." I spoke, putting the glass of bourbon to my lips, placed it on the bar counter and swivelled around to face the cocky vampire.
"What guilt is eating at you?"
"I thought you said I have buried guilt? I have no guilt..." I denied, pouring myself another drink and pouring one for Damon as well. He took the glass, sitting beside me, clinking his glass with me and forced me to stare at him.
"That is what guilt-ridden people do who hide their pain, we deflect."
"This is talking from experience, yeah?" I taunted, raising an eyebrow as Damon chuckled lowly, the man made a face and waited to hear how he would deny what I said.
"Oh, yeah... I am talking from experience." I looked at Damon surprised, I didn't expect him to admit that, he smirked once again and pulled my chair closer to him.
"What? Didn't expect me to admit to that?"
"No, I didn't but good on you, Damon you're growing as an immortal person."
"Come on, talk to me, I'm a great listener when I want to be. I know I don't make it seem like it's true but I do care and you don't seem like you're enjoying yourself. So what happened?" I took a breath, shrugging slightly and made a sound as Damon took the glass from my hand.
"You don't get this back until you talk, so talk."
"Fine, Damon... with everything going on, it's just hard to adjust to sometimes. I feel like I'm still in shock at times, like when do we get a break? When is someone not dying? I'm so sick and tired of all of this. I hate it. As much as I love all this supernatural crap that exists, there are times when I wish I didn't know so I didn't have this guilt on my shoulders knowing that so many people have died because of the baddies we deal with or people are dead because we had to kill them to survive."
He passed me back my glass, rubbing my shoulder, as I took a drink and seemed to be trying to formulate a plan to offer some kind of comfort.
"Look, I'll be honest, there are times when I wish the same. I wonder what my life would've been like if I hadn't met Katherine and if I hadn't become this but then despite the years of terrible things I have done. I got to meet the wonderful person that is right in front of me. So I don't know about you but I think that's a pretty good outcome."
I was speechless for a moment, I couldn't hide the smile that he managed to conjure up.
"Thank you, that's nice of you to say."
"Have you ever considered being a vampire?" Damon asked, I shrugged my shoulders for a brief moment, already knowing the answer before he even asked it.
"I would want to be a vampire." I simply smiled but Damon could read the underlining statement hanging in the air.
"But you want to have a kid."
"Yeah, but there's always adoption if I become a vampire first."
"Nice way to look at it."
I couldn't take the depressing conversations any longer, I hopped over the counter and grabbed Damon's favourite bourbon and mine as well. I yelped as I crashed into Damon's chest as he suddenly appeared in front of me.
"What can I do for you?"
"Go on a date with me."
"Can this not be our date right now?"
"It certainly can be." We shared stories over drinks; Damon told me the adventures of different timelines, how he's watched the world evolve but stay the same at the same time. It was nice being able to see Damon's softer side away from everything that we constantly go through and I do hope to see more across future dates.
