WIP Wednesday
I know technically its not Wednesday and I'm not really tagged by people who do it but I wanted to share my WIP nonetheless because I like it :3
A Carry On fanfic where Baz was kidnapped by the mage himself and not numpties and them Simon was placed with him in confinement because the ghost of Natasha Pitch was seen hovering over the boys' dorm room.
They're trying to find a way out.
“Who kidnapped you?”  Baz was writing ‘what we know’ on a paper using the pen he found on the table. “We know that you were brought here today.”  “Baz, stop ignoring me!”  “What would you do if I told you, Snow?” He blew up. “Thank the person who brought me here?”  “I’ll tear them limb to limb.” Simon said darkly.
this was originally supposed to be a one-shot but I'm not sure if it'll remain like that. And I'm not sure where to go from here.
You won't find it online, I haven't posted it yet so. I might not eitherway lol.
Do let me know what you think :)

The Supernatural fandom has basically ruined me for all other fandoms. I just read the Simon Snow triology (partially because the book titles and cover images made it seem like barely veiled Destiel fanfic) and loved them.
Now, there is a good bit of Simon Snow fan art and fic available, but Supernatural has given me totally unrealistic expectations. Where are the Simon and Baz art books? Why aren’t there over 100,000 fanfics for me to choose from? When is the fan convention? Why aren’t there more podcasts than one human being can listen to?
There is a real possibility that I could at some point run out of Simon Snow fan content. Can you imagine?

.✾. ═  welcome to sallow hills.  enjoy your stay.
i see we have a new member to our town.  welcome, welcome SHEPARD LOVE.  we truly hope you enjoy your stay.  please feel free to head over to bevin & cecil’s until you’re settled.  i know it might be difficult right now and you might be missing your home.  Penelope Bunce is already here though, so you won’t have to be alone.
══  sunflower we’re so excited to have your newest muse in sallow hills!  you can re-find the welcome package in the source link & if you are using side blogs, make sure we know where your character is going.
╔═.✾. ═  LOG *** : shepard love  |  cismale, he/him  |  22 years old.
Just spotted SHEPARD around town.  Our records show that they remember [ EVERYTHING] from their source : simon snow triology (canon ).   They were first spotted in September 2022 and our best guess is that their last memory is CONVINCING PENNY TO COME TO NEBRASKA WITH HIM.  Archivists watching them state that they still have the need to ask all of the questions on his mind, too much knowledge about things he should never even heard about, sweater paws vibe about them.
━  from Armes E. Sallow’s  personal archives. ═.✾. ═╝ ↳・゜quincy fouse ↳・゜sunflower. 21.cdt
↳・゜Shepard always had a thirst of knowledge- no matter where he found himself, he wanted to be able to know more about what interested him. He did have “normal interests, as he always had been interested in magic. But, to such a bigger extent than others would assume. He never sensed danger, he kind of always knew what to say to befriend someone, no matter the species, and happily interact with them. In Sallow’s- he will be enchanted by everything, and the want to know more about all of the people around here will be amazing. Also, the fact that his friends are here will make things better. He will immediately want to see them.

Prism Rambles
Subject: The book Fangirl by Sam Maggs & Gabi Nam, based of the Simon Snow triology by Rainbow Rowell.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Cath reminds me of Penny & Baz. She’s like Penny, because her relationship with her (ex)boyfriend, Abel, was one of assumption. Like Penny, Cath was content with her relationship, assuming that she had ‘checked off that square in life’. It was only when they were away, and both boyfriends had found somebody that they could ‘actually connect to’, in terms of a relationship is when Cath and Penny realize that they weren’t exactly “dating”. It was more of a life insurance policy, were the girls didn’t have to worry about “finding the right one” b/c, in their eyes, they had already found somebody.
Cath also reminds me of Baz b/c, like him, she wanted to be apart of a close-knit friendship. Cath felt like an outsider, just like Baz whenever he saw Simon and Penny being Simon and Penny.
So, yeah, that’s all I have to say. I don’t know if the authors of Fangirl did that on purpose or not, but it is a nice thing to read into.
Sorry if this sounds rushed and messy. The idea came to me in a flash, so I wanted to share it. :)
Also, as far as I know, there are two out of four books in the Fangirl series, and if you like the Simon Snow trilogy, then you should read this series as well. :)

Is it wrong that I like him like this?
(image text/source under the cut)
Plus, as soon as Baz is unhappy, that's all I can think about. I'm crazy about all his fretful little faces, and I also want to be the thing that chases them away. I think I might be willing to make him miserable just for the thrill of making it better. That's fucked up, isn't it?
AWTWB pg 123
He groans and buries his grimace in my shoulder. His arms are still around my neck. His tail is still undulating through my fingers. Is it wrong that I like him like this? Afraid, insecure, worried – but turning to me for comfort? Letting me hold on?

Snowbaz angst :]
I wrote this while at Uni as a congratulations for finishing a question correctly. Anyways have fun reading, this made my horrible day better.
tw: suicidal ideation
“It’s like you have a fucking hero complex or something!”
“I don’t– what are you even talking about?” Snow threw his arms up in bewilderment.
“Oh look at me! I’m the Chosen One and I have to save everyone or FUCKING KILL MYSELF!” Baz said in a very good impression of Simon.  “Isn’t that what goes through your head?!”
“Why would you care if I died?! You hate me!”
“You are SO fucking blind!” Baz sneered, rolling his eyes away.
Simon didn’t know why that annoyed him so much but he went on. “Also, you haven’t lived with the guilt of almost losing someone because you weren’t quick enough or smart enough–”
“Oh you would be surprised!” Baz laughed bitterly.
“Really?” Simon raised his brows. “The Great Grimm-Pitch can feel guilt? I am surprised.”
Baz scoffed. He should probably leave now. Snow’s been winded up for a while. The room smells like a forest fire. But Baz feels the anger in him rising. How could one boy be so idiotic. And how on earth could Baz fall for him?
“So?” Simon asked, “Who is it you’re trying to save? Your beau? Are you even capable of love?”
“You! You idiot!” He didn’t mean to say it but it comes out nonetheless. And he felt too angry to stop or regret his decisions.
“...what?” Simon looked dumbfounded.
The words rushed out of Baz. Years of hopeless pining and yearning broke his voice as he confessed everything he’d desperately hidden from everyone in his life ever.
And he doesn’t stop.
“You go around trying to save people like you have a fucking death wish! And I’m sitting here pretending that I’d love it if you went and got yourself killed. But deep down I know that if you crossed to the other side, I’d follow you in a heartbeat. Because my stupid undead heart chose to fall in love with you!”
Simon was too stunned to speak. Like he was spelt immobile. He just gawked at Baz.
The gravity of what Baz had done set in his bones, replacing all the fight left in him.
He’d just confessed to the love of his life. Not just his feelings but his deepest darkest secrets that he kept close to his heart no matter what.
And he’d just come undone at another threat of losing Simon.
The final straw on the camel’s back, and now it’s on the floor and can’t get up.
“Just…” Baz said to Simon who was still standing there, staring. “Just go.”
The feeling returned to Simon’s legs and he rushed to the door, swung it open and ran out, disappearing.
Baz doesn’t know how long he was standing there in their room, but eventually he finds himself crouching on the floor near his bed and crying his eyes and heart out.
do lmk what you thought! no this will not be continued but you're welcome to write a continuation yourself if you have any idea what would happen next :)
Thanks for reading! <33

genre of books the foxes read
Neil:
why would neil want to read when he could be playing exy?
no, the only books neil read are textbooks
and books about exy plays and strategies
it drives andrew mad.
he’s been trying to find a book that neil will read for years
hasn’t happened yet
Andrew:
it’s fanon knowledge Andrew loves reading.
i think andrew reads all types of books
his favorite genre is like deep fiction books.
ones that make you think ya know?
examples: ishmael, secret history, idk i don’t read books like that
when he doesn’t want to think too hard he reads cheesy mysteries
he always solves the cases before the people in the book
he’s also a whore for sad gay romance books
and psychology books
give andrew a book and he’ll probably read it
he also has read like all the classics
he had a good hs english teacher but we won’t talk about that rn
random note but andrew is a potterhead...
Kevin:
we already know what Kevin reads but i’ll elaborate
Kevin loves history books
fiction and nonfiction
give him a mythology retelling and he’ll love you forever
or just mythology in general
i’m a firm believer kevin’s studying ancient greece and rome in college
but he also likes all mythology
he’s very fascinated in asian mythology too
when he learns he’s native american(wymack had to tell him because the raven refused to acknowledge it) he takes a few native american lit classes and really enjoys learning about those myths and history
he loves coyote stories and creation myths
also he could go on for hours about how the us constitution is based on the iroquois league constitution.
he’s read it like five hundred times. it’s so pretty
he also likes books about certain people from history.
recent and long ago
like the ones that go over someone’s whole life ya know?
i have one about john lennon that he definitely read
kevin has always really enjoyed reading but never really does it
so when he starts to learn the life isn’t all about exy, you can find him reading constantly
the foxes make fun of him but they are actually really proud
Aaron:
you think aaron has time to read for fun as a pre med college athlete?
hell no
the only things he read are ones about microbiology and anatomy
and not by choice
he doesn’t even have a specific genre he likes because he’s never had the opportunity to explore genres. sad but true...
Nicky:
give nicky allllll the gay chick flick rom com books
he refuses to read anything serious
ever
all he wants is happy summer reads where the characters end up together
all fluff
but only contemporary. he doesn’t like fantasy or anything
if the main character isn’t hot. he doesn’t want it
andrews’s all reading “the mental health crisis in predominantly white countries”
and nickys over there with heart stopper
he’s not ashamed(and he shouldn’t be)
Renee:
renee is very similar to andrew
she reads all stuff
but she really likes fantasy books
especially like ya/middle school ones
she didn’t really get to read them when she was a teen so she want to catch up
but she also reads newer ones
the raven cycle, simon snow triology, grishaverse. all the basics.
she also reads a lot of the same as nicky.
but maybe sadder? sometimes.
and finally books about like inner peace and happiness amd all that
how to befriend trees
gardening books even though she doesnt have a garde
ya know peacecore-y stuff
Allison:
smut
it has to be sexy
like bad
acotar
bridgerton
fucking wattpad
fairy porn
mafia shit
idk what else
yeah, it appalls the others
and she can just like read it with a straight face in PUBLIC
“whatcha reading, Ali?”
*looks over her shoulder*
“HE DID QHAT TO WHO?”
allison proceeds to explain in detail
the team is concerned for her mental well being sometimes
she doesn’t give a fuck
Dan:
she likes easy reads
nothing that makes her think too hard but things she can enjoy
she reads for fun and to relax
unironically reads murder mysteries
andrew gives her side eyes all the time
historical fiction
like 1700-1800 royalty stuff
lots of ya
just whatever looks good at the bookstore really
definitely judges books by covers
same tho
she’s not picky
as long as it’s easyish
she doesn’t really like series tho
she wants to read one book and be done
Matt:
matt reads sport fiction
i’m sorry but it’s true
he doesn’t really read that much
he’d much rather play video games or watch a movies
but when he does it’s about sports
he was the boy in hs who REFUSED to read so their parent bought them a book about michael jordan thinking they might read it
and they do. and then it’s the only book they read for five years
yeah that’s matt
and we love that for him
