Just finished watching The Suicide Squad and there's a character named Cleo Cazo, aka Rat Catcher 2. She's got a device that gifts her the ability to control the minds of nearby rats. Even without that device, she can still communicate with and tame them.
And I just keep picturing Billy in his room, his face in his hands, when a rat crawls out of a crack in the wall and stares at him.
He wipes his eyes, and the furry creature copies his movements. When Billy cocks his head, so does Ratt the Rat.
Ratt decides to stay with Billy, smuggling his car keys or even some food to his human friend. Ratt has also figured out how to unlock Billy's door, which he does when Neil finally falls asleep.
Billy assumes it's just Ratt he can communicate with, but he soon learns that's not the case. In fact, he can tame squirrels and raccoons as well.

Tuesday, November 7.
Ratblr.
Some things are inevitable. The days of the week, for example. Take Tuesday. It's Tuesday today, in fact, and it be like that sometimes. Sometimes, it be Tuesday, and there is nothing more to be done about it.
Likewise, you have now been SNIFED. Note the past principle: snifed. 'Twas inevitable. 'Twas always going to happen. And so, just as you accept it is Tuesday, the day after Monday, you must accept that this is now the time after the snifing. Your very own Anno Domini, if you like. Your very own brave new world—your own, tailor-made new normal.
And in this unchartered territory, you are left with two choices. You may carry on as if nothing ever happened. Or you may smash that reblog to snif the next person. You know what you must do.
So go on. Dew it x

My favourite thing from Ratoier's qsmp rampage was when he'd show up yelling and cursing in Spanish and the non-Spanish speakers would freak out or be confused in their native language, then he'd do a slow turn and start yelling and cursing at them in their language too!

Arthur
19, 20, 29
19. What is your character's biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
Arthur has a tendency to be dismissive to the other persons feelings, as well as only go along with his own ideas and tactics, let's say. He's really not that good at honest conversations either. Don't get me wrong, he is fantastic at speaking, telling stories, but talking about himself and his feels? Nah.
The arrogance he radiates has pushed a lot of people away, not just romantically. Not many allies in the centuries prior.
I wonder in whom else we've seen that?
20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
I think Arthur tries to (subconsciously) portray a version of himself that would rival Rome himself. It's something he isn't fully aware of that he is doing. As for more aware comparisons, I don't think he puts himself against anyone anymore, these days. During the beginning of his Empire he would have been more likely to compare himself to other mighty empires, especially Spain.
"If he can establish colonies in the New World, I certainly can!"
Back then he had a strong need for validation, like many have. To been seen as an equal, if not better. It's a socially destructive tendency, as he is aware.
29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
I don't think he had time for dreaming while trying to avoid arrows and swords, but one thing he did envision is having the means to stand up to his biggest "bullies". Even that was a passing thought though, occurring between finding decent shelter from the downpour and falling asleep.
And yeah it did come true, but he was too busy running his empire to notice. A gradual change is barely noticeable. Boil the frog and see if it jumps out.
I need to polish my Arthur history a bit. I know he was a homeless rascal and very frequently hungry. Lots of rain also.

My Personal List of Most Horrific Things in Discworld So Far (in no particular order)
-the Rat King from The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents. Eight rats with their tails tied together and mind control powers? Horrifying *bristles in disgust*
-the wolf-man hybrid who begs for death in Witches Abroad. So sad and disturbing, I wish he could have been saved
-Vorbis in Small Gods, he is just terrifying everything he does, chilling--especially because there is nothing supernatural about him, there are real people in this world just like him
