Time to wake up this Tumblr and put it to work!
I'm Julian Kay, and I used this account mostly to post my cool characters commissioned by awesome artists in the past, but I'm an indie game writer these days, and I lead with Mutants in the Now, my main game line right now! It's the retro-modern, mutant-animal, role-playing game that recreates the mutant animal role-playing of the '80s and '90s, but with modern mechanics and progressive themes. It's time to mutate all over again!
Seen above is the original cover of Mutants in the Now, with art by @fontesdev. Take a look at j/k! Games!
Point Defiance Zoo's resident baby muskox Willow enjoying her 4 month birthday present, should last longer than her dad's do since she doesn't have horns in yet.
Trying to parse the subtle difference between turquoise and teal. I think the conclusion was that some turquoises (the stone) are teal coloured, but teal is a more standardized description of the colour that is mid-way between green and blue.
Musk ox have survived relatively unchanged for over a million years, thanks to many adaptations that have helped them survive the cold, harsh winters of their native range. One such adaptation is their fur, of which there are two layers. The top layer, called guard hairs, is incredibly long-- up to 62 cm (24 in). Underneath is a softer, thicker layer called qiviut (pronounced kiv-ee-ute) which keeps them warm at temps as low as -62 C (-80 F). This layer is shed in the summer, and regrown every winter.
