Real talk if you reblog shit about israel and gaza, and honestly any sort of situation where REAL LIVES are impacted and give it a cute little tag like “ ___ discourse” thats just like, absolutely disgusting and shameful. It’s like some internet debate game for you. Open a window and get some fresh air. Look at yourself in the fucking mirror. you arent helping people by tagging triggering content. If you really care you’d use normal fucking tags. Just say it like it is: What you’re really doing is creating a little shelf of posts that make you feel morally superior and justified by collecting “gotchas” over people you disagree with. A box of clout that makes you feel better about your tiny existence by having “the right opinions”. You don’t care about the people that its actually affecting. No fucking compassion or sympathy for those who are actively suffering while you argue semantics and make bad faith claims on your stupid fucking device like it’s made up bullshit on Netflix. No further introspection or questioning of values or morality.
You should probably have a little more tact and at least pretend like you dont view this shit as the same as fandom or shipping discourse. If you’re doing this i hope you know that if i knew your face, i’d spit on it.

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. While speaking out against genocide by an apartheid state should be the bare minimum, it's pretty rare nowadays.
I love your work, and I'm glad you're standing up for the thousands of innocent lives lost. I hope everything is going well for you and your loved ones 💌
It’s been absolutely devastating to watch everything unfold the past week or so. This is the platform where I have the biggest following so reblogging a few informational posts is the least I felt I could do, but I have trying to help in other ways too.
I’ve been donating to aid organizations who are trying to get desperately needed supplies into Gaza:
And I’ve used this tool from JVP to call and email my congressional representatives. They have a script so you know exactly what to say. Emails tend to be more effective if they’re original so I used their email script as a guide:
There’s so many informational lists already out there but https://decolonizepalestine.com is always a good place to start if you’re new to the issue and are confused about what’s going on. I know we all complain about TikTok but it has been a great resource for me to hear from actual Palestinians about what is happening.
People will try to tell you that the issue is complicated but right now it’s not. The people of Gaza are being systematically murdered by a government power in horrific horrific ways. We’re watching genocide in real time. That’s the thing we need to be focusing on right now.
I hope you are taking care of yourself if this issue is one that affects you personally; my heart truly aches over this and I know I’m not alone. People are watching and they do care. I hope you’re doing okay anon ❤️

gang my mom is 'neutral' on the Israel occupations genocide of Palestine and it makes me mad because 'neutrality' is just supporting Israel. But I have no idea how to confront her on it, or what to show her to convince her. And I doubt my biological father would care about the conflict (and if he does, he's probably on israel's side) and i have no idea how i can buy e-sims, sign petitions, or even who to write to in my government to try and put pressure to help Palestine, without an adult's help (Since I am a minor) And i'm trying to spread word but its scary because if i got in trouble at school then i'd have no backup, and spreading it online doesn't feel like im doing as much as i could

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see Gaza no longer among the trending tags and Free Palestine tag trend two places below fandom tags. I'm sorry y'all got bored of a genocide at the same time as Gaza ran entirely out of drinking water and Israel started bombing a hospital that has a real risk of exploding from within if they hit any of the generators and oxygen reserves, and Zionist hate speech and genocide denialism online is louder than ever.

finished reading thru The Hundred Years' War On Palestine: A History of Settler Colonial Conquest and Resistance by Rashid Khalidi and I cannot recommend it enough. A lot of people and, very likely, the average person not completely blinded by Islamophobia and/or USamerican/European/British exceptionalism are probably at least moderately sympathetic to the Palestinian cause but I don't know how many of us actually understand the degrees by which Israel is based in settler colonial ideology, how it has continually attempted to subjugate and ultimately eradicate the Palestinian people, and the degree by which the US and Britain (but mostly the US ever since the Six Day War in 1967) have been complicit in this continual genocide.
This book is an amazing comprehensive guide on understanding the conflict and I genuinely think you should give it a read (or listen) if you want to learn more. It is one thing to feel sympathy and to declare support for a cause, but I think it is important to take a step further and educate yourself more on it. A ploy I have seen frequently by zionists is to tell people to "educate themselves" before commenting on this genocide, hoping to instill doubt and encourage silence. Well, here is your chance to educate yourself! I'm obviously biased in favor of this one as it is the first major text on the Palestinian genocide that I have read, but I fully believe in its quality.
You can find this book online in PDF format or, if you prefer, you can purchase a physical copy from many of the large retail bookstores; Barnes & Noble in the US sells it, and so does Waterstones in the UK. There is also an official audiobook that you can either purchase through many of the major audiobook distributors (though I recommend avoiding Amazon if it can be helped), but you can also obtain it via other means if necessary. It's actually currently up on YouTube in its entirety, though I won't link it here in case it gets taken down. (It's really easy to search for, just type in the books title + 'audiobook' into your preferred search engine or on YouTube itself and you'll find it. It's about 10 hours long which is a reasonable length for an audiobook). I'll include a link in this post to an overview/lecture/dialogue with the author Rashid Khalidi on the contents of the book conducted at Brown University in 2020.
I do ask you read this book. I think a lot of people already are. I checked a couple of online libraries that have a limited number of audiobook copies that had all been checked out and that to me implies that people do want to educate themselves. There's a sizeable stack of these books at the local bookstore I ocassionally shop at, front and center on the table in the history and world affairs section. It's not hard to find. I hope you all have a good day or evening and I know that if we all take the time to educate ourselves further and approach this genocide with a deeper understanding, we may be able to do something about it. Emotional pleas are not enough, they must be informed ones as well.
