Thinking about how much I wish she were the deliciously messy, morally complex, and believably motivated protagonist of a Space Lesbians vs. Empire trilogy instead of a flat villain/historical footnote in the Fiend Folio. Unfortunately, DnD.

#hello to anyone who happens to b interested in the saga of my life... also maybe the irl person i gave my url to... hopefully my blog#didnt freak her out too much lol. anyway so its been a busy week? 2 weeks? month? year? life? its been a lot. my parents helped me move#across the country from the desert to somewhere that's beautiful and green. my dad is so jealous of me lol its so so so pretty and theres s#so much to do. will i do any of it? that remains to be seen but im gonna try to be better about that sort of thing. try to get some help#with the thoughts in my head that keep me from doing and enjoying most things. its weird like im decorating my new room which i love. the#location and living situation seem ideal and i really hope i can stay here all 5 years of my program but i was picking a lot of bright#colors and now it feel uncomfortable. like if i wear things that r too bright or my room is too bright without dark contrast it feel weird#like if im wearing it it kinda makes me feel sick. idk what thats abt. anyway. ill try to heal my brain and im just so happy to b out of the#southwest. i was so so so excited when we were leaving thr city and even more so when we left the state. i cant believe im here. in December#it felt like a million years away and i really truely could not fathom how i was gonna survive that long. my thoughts were so distorted. but#i did and here i am. and in like a month i should b starting my phd program and my parents were telling me how excited ppl r for me and#jealous of where im living and im glad. im glad they're excited. i think i am too but its under a layer of: if i get excited it wont happen#im not allowed to b excited or it wont happen. which is irrational but ya kno. anyway so that's yeah. im so happy to have a fresh start and#the town seems super cool. a liberal blip in a sea of... not that so theyre very visibly pride forward haha and i think itll b way easier#for me to get around without driving. and im gonna try to make friends. i need someone to tell me where to get tattoos haha. so yea im happy#but exhausted and i dont wanna go back to work and so so greatful to my parents for being wonderful ppl idk how bc both of them had fucked#up childhoods. like my mum will say the saddest shit and im like bro this is y i don't wanna talk to my grandma fuck her and my dads parents#r so fucked. like my nana is the reason im so fucking control freaked out but i kno i have issues and she has no insight and thinks shes#better than everyone. anyway hopefully i can get back to drawing a posting more now. ive been drawing it its been in a sketch book#like an actual sketch book for sketching big ideas thst r gonna take fucking forever to draw 😭#so that's all. just uprooted my whole life. thats all. but in a good way :-]#unrelated

honestly i'm always surprised when people assert that the end of the great hunt is some cool op moment for rand. like...he explicitly commits a self-sacrifice play, after suicide ideating from nearly page 1, to save a girl, except the reader already knows she doesn't need saving at that point. he only survives because he has no agency over his death, something else that has also been laid out explicitly earlier in tgh. it's not a cool character moment for rand at all. it is, however, a cool narrative moment — because it's the culmination of hundreds of pages of buildup and foreshadowing and character work.
#there's a big difference b/w the idea of a cool character and a cool narrative scene tbh!#if anything he was significantly more conventionally “cool” in the show version of events#considering he did not encounter ishamael & immediately take a fatal wound that put him in a coma for days#tbh same for the turak scene where in the book he was pretty outclassed & barely escaped with his life#and textually only managed that much bc he couldn't let himself die until he knew someone was helping egwene#wot book spoilers#are we still tagging for wot show spoilers#cw mentions of rand's suicide ideation#words#r#the great hunt#rand al'thor

the professor's name was nancy. she was well over seventy and had some trouble walking. she was t e r r i f y i n g. one time, she kicked everyone who hadn't done the reading out of the classroom. one girl was so scared that, even though she hadn't been sussed out as having not done the reading, she confessed and left.
afterwards, nancy grinned at those of us who had done the reading and went, "I like to do that once a semester to keep people on their toes."

Been reading svsss fanfic and fan content for nearly two years now and I gotta say I am appalled by the lack of diety bros!sqq and sqh.
Like, we don't have nearly enough creator deity sqh anyway (the feral ones are e x q u i s i t e) but I haven't seen any where sqq is on the same level!
Consider: at one point in the past sy, in full hater inglory, starting (accidentally or otherwise) a full scale fan war over pidw. Trolls rampaging through comment sections, toxic ship wars spilling into social media sites and trending for days, streams of hate mail, attempts at doxxing poor sqh even. It culminates in the crashing of the entire site he posts on, obliterating the chapter he was working on and the site admins banning his work.
For the days it takes for him to get it put back up with his account unsuspended sqh suffers, and he almost successfully gets peerless cucumbers account terminated for starting it until he realises that pc jumped right back to paying for chapters and extra content like he was doing even in the final days of the war. Like he never did anything. Yeah, like he'll be forgetting that username any time soon.
Skip to the final chapter, and the fan war has calmed down, and actually benefitted sqh in the long run by giving pidw such a huge cultural platform. He posts, sy responds with the most scathing vitriol he's ever commented (having successfully pressed send before his body gave out) with allusions to another fan war surely brewing, and sqh jumps from his chair in fury and terror - he's on complete burnout, he hasn't got anything left to give, he can't afford to go through that again -
Trips, spills, the ramen gets everywhere. Killed by his own sparking computer, he dies before he sees the files corrupt, the entirety of pidw corroding away into terabytes of faulty static.
They both die within minutes of each other, sqh, the creator of pidw -
And sqq, who destroyed it.
#I just think that'd be incredible to read#I love healthy cuplane but sometimes I just think they aren't vicious enough#The parallels in the book are already close enough#It'd just take a couple small adjustments and BAM#barely an au but so feral#Yin yang connection where sy is the great evil with a genuinely kind personality hidden away#And sqh the great creator who scurries around helping people out who might stone his favourite oc to death with his bare hands#Sqh holds the most sincere hatred for pc for the longest time and vice versa but then they meet in pidw#And it's been long enough that a screaming match venting it all cleanses most of the active loathing#I'd like to think they end up getting along and feeding each others diety complexes when they discover#Their influences in regard to the world remain#Also I am in desperate need of a Ultimate Regress Forms where sqh is all lines of code and sqq is made of error messages and glitching stat#No one in svsss would have any idea what they were looking at#It'd be so delicious#If you want to go extra angsty: yqy seeing and realising sj has been taken away but being helpless against what replaced him#Lbh having weird dreams hearing them talking together like the Minecraft people end scene#Mbj would of course both find it hot and have a full crisis of hierarchy if he found out#Sqh: glowing from behind eyes blank text streaming behind him I WEAVE THE THREADS OF REALITY TO MY WHIM#Sqq: movements lagging behind sound of static face glitching horribly SUCKS FOR YOU I HAVE A BIG PAIR OF SCISSORS THEN#svsss#scum villain's self saving system#scum villain#shen yuan#cumplane#shang qinghua#moshang#bingqiu#shen qingqiu

Spent the whole afternoon repotting plants and preparing for all the herb seed planting tomorrow. Have arrived at the point where my first floor has been taken over by plant trays. Am planning to plant my usual square meter of basil, some parsley and some peppermint. Might try cilantro again now that I've learned it doesn't like warmth.
I've gotten promotional seed papers for peppers, tomatoes, carrots and rucola. Don't think the first two will work indoors because pollination, and don't think I have a container deep enough for carrots, but will try all the things anyway.
Am genuinely considering getting a worm farm.

#technically the first floor is my study/library#it has been taken over by plants#since I mostly use my laptop in my living roam because couch living ahoy#and my mac desktop is pretty much death#books need dry air and plants need moist so this is a very unhappy co-living situation#but I have big windows on the south and nothing across the street so the light is great for plants#my square meter of basil was a happy accident the first time#but honestly i can recommend#all you can eat pesto is an amazing luxury#and basil is also great in chimi churri#mostly i just like growing things#and worms apparently#since I made an accidental worm bin more or less#so now I kind of want to do it properly#i'm a city girl i don't even have a balcony and I have no idea what I'm doing#and usually i mostly wing it#but man i am still happy this is the covid pasttime that stuck#house plants#urban gardening#i guess

finally found an outer wilds playthrough that i'm really enjoying and not getting super annoyed with
#the ow subreddit has many playthroughs that people recommend#and most of them are fine but they all have parts that are super fucking annoying#when the player isn't getting something obvious#or is missing a very basic gameplay mechanic#and of course will accept no help from chat#this streamer on the other hand is playing with a friend who has played before#and he's not backseating at all but he does point out the simple little gameplay mechanic things#and she bounces ideas off of him#and it's great!!!#i think while outer wilds is a game that definitely doesn't need to be played with a friend who has played it#if you're playing on stream it's a very very big bonus in my book#so you can still enjoy the game but not get hung up on little gameplay things#ALSO also she noted the hearthian pronouns right away and has used them consistently#and so far is the only big streamer i have seen do so

Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)

Check back for more. I also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.

Room decoration tips are very welcomed
#i'm decorating my room in my uni city this thursday or friday#i will go to ikea and maybe some other deco shops#the main problem with my room is that it is still very empty looking 😅#it could use some personality#it's also quite big so that adds to it#i might also decorate the bath room if i have some deco stuff to spare#i also lived in it for the whole year because i didn't find the time to propetly do it 😅#for decoration i'm thinking printing out pictures making a photo wall#some fake vines maybe#extra cushions for the bed maybe a new bed sheet#books for the shelf would also be great but where to get enough without spending so much money on it#also one's i'd actually read as it shouldn't just be decoration of course 😂#also maybe some boxes for organisation to put in the shelf#and something to hang up jewelry#very important#plants#but plants which will survive only being watered every few weeks ideally 😂#and maybe just some general deco elements like sculptures candles etc.#i'm also open to diy ideas :)#i just want my room to feel more homely 🥰#don't have a budget yet but maybe 200€ max i'll see how much it'll cost as i go along#but i will hopefully soon have the summer job and i just got some money so it'll be fine 🤠
