Look, I love seeing the ramblings of @givemewallywestorgivemedeath and what is going on in the comics.

But the SECOND that I saw her swinging her brother around like a battering ram and sending grown men fleeing this is immediately what I saw in my head, so I was determined to make it a reality.

Hail the feral 9 year old - she learned from the best. She's probably killed a few guys already. It's fine.

You mentioned a satanic cult in Wycombe. I can only assume this is the infamous Hellfire Club. I am from West Wycombe where the Hellfire club was based.

Now I can tell your for sure that the club was no longer in operation in ‘63.

However I do have something of note from local folk lore which may be of interest. In the 1700’s according to local folk lore two witches arrived at the Hellfire club. The Dressed in black and wore masks made of bone. Around this time note local “personality” Mary Culver disappeared apparently after slitting her own throat.

Soon after arriving the Abby a village over was attacked by another group masked figures whose description in local folk lore matches the description of Rat catchers. Military members of the British Secret Service. Now officially this attack never happened but it is present significantly in the aforementioned Folk Lore.

Official Documents released under the official secrets act latter revealed that two “ foreign” diplomats had arrived. These diplomats came dressed in black robes and masks made of bone. This was not the first encounter with this group, a previous encounter had happened with the previous king who made a sale of 11 days from the British Calendar, to this group. They organise on they. Represented was called, Faction Paradox. Paradox not a very common word in those days. Soon after the reveal of a new army was called off apparently due to its complete destruction

Faction Paradox would once more make a diplomatic visit to earth at the end of the 1700’s for a hunt. What where they hunting? According to rumour a Mammoth.

It is worth noting that Scarlette (the woman who married your oh so mysterious Doctor as Described in Henrietta Street) was once a member of the Hellfire Club

Why did the Rat Catchers attack the Abby? What is Faction Paradox? And how could a whole Army be destroyed they day before it was supposed to revealed? Soon after the King would apparently go mad. Could this be because of his involvement with the Faction? And how does the Faction relate to the events on Henrietta street and the dawn of the next century.

This is fascinating! I'll definitely be looking deeper in to this!

kind of wild how much fiction still treats torture as something that objectively works when every study has shown that it does not work at all and is possibly the least effective way to get correct information

#at the very least it's the worst from a cost/benefit standpoint #there will always be some 'interrogation expert' faction that are all ooh we can get any information from anyone #with our pointlessly complicated and resource intensive methods of beating the shit out of people #like no the fuck you can't that's not how anything works

It's shenanigans time guys

So have this DpxDc idea.

So, the Justice League and the Light (OR villains in general) have two newish members, they've both been around for about a year and they're from the same plane of existence (a place called the Infinite Realms according to those who dabble in the occult)

And the two seem to have some serious beef with each other.

Wisp and Wrath are basicly feral cats hissing and hekles raised when they spot the other and their fights normally ends in draws. They're evenly matched and sometimes the two even fight to the point they are out of steam and just fist fight.

Needless to say everyone believes they totally hate each other and might one day kill (or end?) One of them.

So everything gets turned upside down when suddenly both factions of heros and villains are suddenly summoned to the Infinite Realms.

In a throne room.

In front of the Infinite King (or most commonly known as the Ghost King)

A King who looks very, very much like Wisp and Wrath (like yeah the two do sometimes look alike, like when they grin with sharp teeth and their hair color, but one has blue skin and red eyes for crying out loud!)

He's staring at them, glowing green eyes that seemed to just... know.

"Welcome to the Infinite Realms. I am King Phantom." His voice echoing in the throne room and seemed to rattle them deeply, like a sudden chill in the early morning.

"I have summoned you all here for a single reason." He continued to say "Tell me..."

Here he paused, closed his eyes before leaning back on the chair then he smiled big and cheerfully asked.

"How are my kids doing in your world? Dan and Ellie arent causing too much chaos in their wake are they? They tend to go a tiny bit overboard sometimes but what siblings don't when they rough house you know. Tell me everything."

First off this absolutely cursed AU was inspired by Lemonomelette and a post they made -X Secondly I imagine it all being about bots and cons trying to one up each others factions and not actually helping in any serious way because their too busy with their own faction bs.

Think of two rival car dealerships across the street one upping each other to get business and instead of business with cars its interstellar robot fairys trying to woo sm children to let them grant their inconsequential wishes (which may or may not be worth it) instead of the other guy next door.

We don't appreciate enough how vampires are no only canon in Dr. Who but also a major plot thing and very poweful. The time lords, the oldest civilization, the time travel guys fought a WAR with the VAMPIRES and had to trap them in another UNIVERSE. And they're not even embarassed of this, the writers I mean. They bring it up constantly because that's what Dr. Who is like. Our horrifying murdering time-travelling blood cult? Yes we will definitely bring up the vampires again here. War never changes. War never changes. WAR NEVER CHANGES.

That is the entire point of the series. That is especially the point of the show. War does not change.

Humanity was trying to rebuild, yes. But the entire point is literally that any one single selfish arrogant human can cause it to end it again. War can happen again. War will happen again. It is an endless cycle. And as people covet power, the whole thing will eventually topple.

That is why it is not a whole country that ended the world, it is a handful of heads from corporations.

That is why it is not a whole faction that "ended" the NCR, it is a single man from a bygone era who had a hand in ending the world the first time, that does it.

And I think that New Vegas showed us that the NCR was kinda crumbling already, too. The "fall of Shady Sands" wasn't the bomb itself, it was the beginning of the NCR's struggles. If I'm recalling New Vegas' plot correctly, the NCR was already struggling to hold the wasteland, to integrate people into it. There were resource shortages, it was getting too big, they had other factions battling them for power, and maybe your actions as a player had some pull either direction, but it's possible it wouldn't last.

If it wasn't a bomb, something else could've ended it at some point, too. Because war doesn't change.

As long as there's resource shortages, as long as there's mistrust, as long as people don't learn right from wrong, and as long as people muddy right from wrong.

That's the show, that's the games. Maybe the writing of that isn't always the best, but that's what it dwindles down to.

It is not a retcon, it is the main idea. It is not a "dumb take," it is how the world is.

Even in real life, there is sometimes hope and some things improve, but it doesn't stay improved, ever. Hope and despair comes in waves.

And war never changes.
