A day in the life of a Palestinian 24.8.2022

Mohammad Araishi, 24 years old, was seriously injured on August 9 during the clashes that took place with the occupation army in the old city of Nablus. Today he died from his wounds, thus increasing the number of dead in Nablus that day to 4.

A commercial strike to mourn was announced today in the city, shortly after his funeral.

Over the course of the night and day, approximately 13 Palestinians were arrested, 2 houses were destroyed, demolition orders were submitted for another building, threats to the residents of Masafar Yatta and movement restrictions, clashes in several places and Khalil Awauda has been on hunger strike for six months.

1.* Abu Dis* a town east of Jerusalem

In June 2021, at the Hizma checkpoint, Dr. May Afana, 29 years old, mother of a small girl, lecturer in the field of mental health, was shot and killed after, according to the occupation army, she tried to run over soldiers. She was shot in her car. Since then, for 14 months, her body was held by Israel (like over 100 other bodies). Today her body was returned to her family for burial.

Later at night, clashes broke out in the town with the occupation army, and a Palestinian was shot in the head with a rubber-coated metal bullet.

2. *Silwad* northeast of Ramallah.

This is the third night that the occupation army has raided the town for arrests, investigations and searches, since the shooting of the bus near Ofra.

Clashes began on the spot during which soldiers fired live bullets, light bombs and tear gas. The Palestinians threw stones, batons, at the force vehicles.

No injuries or arrests were reported.

3. *Tubas*

The occupying army stormed the city for the purpose of making arrests. An exchange of fire began on the spot. During the clashes, a military vehicle hit a transportation vehicle of workers and injured one of them, a resident of Tayyasir.

In the Balata camp, the wanted Mustafa Masha turns himself in after the Shin Bet threats to kill him.

9. *Masafar Yatta* south of Hebron

In the communities of Ginba and El Merkaz, notices were placed on houses, lots, schools, warning drivers not to move between the villages, otherwise vehicles will be confiscated, drivers will be arrested and fines will be imposed. In the area of fire. Recently, the occupation army has increased its presence in the area and is imposing severe movement restrictions, blocking roads and setting up barriers.
