Rave'N was approaching and you - despite not liking those things - needed a pair. Even Wednesday who had zero manners with people had a date and so your friends started talking about you. 'You swear nobody asked you to go to the ball?' 'Awn, y/n, don't worry, I'm sure someone will call you soon!’

So you went to Ajax's dorm and thank God he was alone. "Please, be my date for the prom-" you begged. "I swear I didn't want to do this with you, but Enid already has a date" you mumbled, glancing to see if he wouldn't get bitter by the statement. When he gave a small smirk you continued "and people started whispering behind my back about how they feel bad for me! And we've always been best friends, so it wouldn't be weird.." He rolled his eyes. "Please, please, please... you owe me! I gave my answers to you on Tornhill's test."

"Cheating on a test and being your fake date is extremily different..." he looked up, because a snake was starting to come out of his hood. "Okay, I'I go with you." he said trying to hide the animal.

You jumped out of his bed and sprinted to give your friend a hug. "Have I mentioned how much I like you?" he started laughing, hugging you back.

"That's enough, y/n, I need to have energy to pretend I can handle dating you to everyone at Nevermore" he said pushing you away with a smile on his face. "I'll be the best boyfriend you've ever had. Although it won't be difficult at all... people will think it's weird that you're dating someone so nice and handsome like me."

"Don't think so, pretty boy. People will be jealous of you for being with me" you said pointing your finger at his chest. "I'll make you some protection charms...” he rolled his eyes again and pointed to the door and muttered for you to leave. "Oh, another thing.." you giggled. "We need to start this as soon as possible to make it feel more real."

"Ugh, okay, y/n! But after prom, I'II try things with Enid again, okay?" you agreed and finally left his room wishing him a 'goodnight, boyfriend.’

The next morning, in your history class - all the lights in the room were turned off, as your professor was showing a slide about the great war - you were almost asleep, your eyes were heavy and you're fighting with the urge to pay attention in class. Suddenly, Bianca who was sitting next to you punched your arm almost making your head hit the table, you looked around without understanding and you noticed the door was open, with an intense light coming towards you. Xavier was standing next to the old man "Sorry about the confusion Professor, but my friend has something to say."

You were still sleepy, but you were fully aware that it was Ajax walking into the room with a huge bouquet of flowers, with Kent's company who had a sign - which Xavier helped him open - that was written ‘Y/n, would you like to go to Rave'N with me?’.

Holy crap.

"Y/n, honey, would you give me the honor and be my date to prom?" he asked and even your professor had a small smile on his face waiting for you to answer.

The whole class started whispering and Bianca shook you to get up at once to answer the boy who had an adorable smile on his face. You were astonished. You had told him to be your fake date, but you had no idea that his head could think of all that.

"Wow" you whispered, then cleared your throat "Y-yes! I'll go with you, Aj."

"Come here, kid." the professor said and you went to Ajax to hug him.

"I can't believe you did that" you whispered into his ear.

"It was what you deserved" he whispered back and you took the bouquet from his hand which almost fell out of your hands as they were sweating. "I'll see you later honey" he placed a kiss on your cheek and left the room. You stood there still without reaction, watching Xavier congratulate Ajax - both with the brightest smiles you ever saw. All your classmates started applauding.

When you sat down, Bianca's jaw dropped. "Why didn't you told me this before? Ajax is so cute and you guys are a match" you blushed.

The next few days were in the same intensity. He spent every meal at your side, giving you hugs and placing kisses on your cheek or in your forehead, getting a lot of questions from your friends. 'When this started?', 'You've always been so close... we should have noticed' and 'You finally decide to get to know each other deeply!'

Ajax took to answering for you, once you commented that you felt embarrassed with so much attention on you. 'Yeah... we didn't even thought about it, but it happened.'

But something strange happened. You two spent a lot of time together to show your cute little relationship, but he started ghosting you. You thought maybe he was trying to figure how he would fix the things with Enid after that.

"Aj" you called him when you were alone in the hall. "Are you mad at me?" he barely looked at your face. "You haven't spoken to me in a while.”

He looked a long time into your eyes and placed a hand on your arm, squeezing a little bit. "No! No way" he cracked a smirk.

"Great! Because tomorrow is Raven'N and we need to be super connected" you said and his smile disappeared.

"Yeah, I know" he paused for a moment. "I have class now, see you later." and he left. You felt a strange feeling, because you knew he didn’t have any class right now.

At Raven'N's day, you were surprised by how excited you were. It was actually a mix of excitement and anxiety and you didn't know why, but you decided to embrace the feeling. You got dressed up with Bianca and a few other friends, dancing and singing together.

You ended up exchanging a few messages with Ajax and even though things were still a little awkward between the two of you, he was still being cute and funny, like he always was.

And when you went to the ball, the hall was amazing, super decorated and with exciting songs. You started looking for some boy who was covering his hair but failed. "Xav, have you seen Aj?" you asked as the tall boy walked past you.

He seemed to think for a while before answering, his cheeks turning red "He... he was talking to Enid." your heart skipped a few beats. "And he's a little drunk." Shit.

You knew that interrupting their conversation would be an embarrassment, so you decided to wait for him to come talk to you. Even if he didn't spend the prom with you, if he had patched things up with Enid, you'd be happy for him. Right? You were supposed to be happy for him. He was your best friend. Just that.

So when you saw Enid come back with a huge smile on her face, you got worried and decided to look for the boy. Ajax was sitting in the hallway and you could see that he was really drunk. "Aj!"

"Oh, Y/n. I'm so sorry... I failed on that fake date thing" he said putting his hand on his face as if he was embarrassed.

"What are you talking about?" you helped him up and his body was heavier than you imagined. He ended up not answering your question and you didn't insisted. Ajax slipped and his forehead met yours. He laughed.

"I really want to kiss you right now." he whispered. Your heart raced.

"You don't know what you're talking about."

"I do, y/n. I'm the dumbest guy in the world... I wish I had told you this a long time ago." he said running his fingers through your hair. Suddenly, all of your body felt warm.

"And the whole thing with Enid?" you knew asking questions to drunk people wasn't a good idea, but you've wanted to ask him for a while.

"Bullshit, she's just a friend.” he started laughing. “Actually she was helping me how to express my feelings" he said looking into your eyes, your heart cheered. "Fuck" he muttered and before you realized it, he had kissed you. God, how you wish he'd done this sober. But you reciprocated. Pulling him closer and feeling his little snakes stroking your hair.

You stopped the kiss and took your friend to his dorm, leaving some water by his side and a medicine that you knew he would need. The moment he laid down, you were going to leave the room, but he pulled your hand. "Y/n... I'm in-"

"Don't" you interrupted him. "Tell me that when you're sober." and then you left.

You couldn't sleep the whole night. Your heart was impatient, it felt like it had just broken, but this time hurting more. It hurt more because you knew what you were missing, you knew your heart was beating for just one person and maybe it had been beating for all this time and you just realized it now. It hurt even more that he had kissed you while he was drunk, probably knowing that it wouldn't happen when he was sober.

It was Sunday, meaning you were free of classes, but your friends were meeting for lunch together as an after-prom celebration. Ajax was waiting for you in front of your dorm's door and you walked to the place without saying a word. You knew he remembered last night, but he sure as hell regretted it.

"Where were the lovebirds yesterday?" Bianca asked as everyone saw you entering the place hand in hand. "We didn't see you the rest of the party"

"We were very busy yesterday" Ajax smirked and squeezed your hand. You pretended to smile and your friends faces were shocked by the answer.

But you started hearing murmurs behind you as the celebration was going. 'Does he really like her?', 'He's too cute for her...', 'Are you kidding? As soon as they're done, I'm going to ask Y/ n to go out with me, she's extremely hot. Aj is the one who's lucky'.

Ajax felt his face boil with anger, pulling you closer and pressing his lips to yours. You felt your heart beat faster and more desperately. You felt his tongue brush your lips and you gave permission to enter. Your breathing was heavy. He placed his hand on your neck and trailed his fingers down your back to the waist, where he pulled you even closer. You broke up when it looked like you were going to pass out from lack of air.

The entire room was silent, but your gaze didn't break Aj's for a second. What was it all about? "That's my bro" Xavier spoke, breaking the silence of your colleagues.

Once everyone was entertained with conversations and gossip from the ball, you left the place and headed towards the forest. It was raining and it didn't take long for your hair to be completely soaked. That was the best way to get your energy renewed and clear your mind.

You sat on a tree, but it didn't take long to hear footsteps behind you and see Ajax's worried face beside you. "Not in the mood for talking right now" you said putting your face on your knee, feeling the raindrops roll down your cheeks.

"But we need to" he said sitting next to you.

"This fake dating thing was a mistake, you know?" you said, feeling his eyes on you.

"I know I confused you about yesterday-"

"No need to explain yourself, Aj." you interrupted him. He shifted his position and sat in front of you taking both of your hands.

"Yes, I need." you looked into his eyes. "It was really a mistake all this" you already felt your eyes watering. "But everything I said and all my actions yesterday were honest" your heart was beating fast again. "Even though I did it in the world's stupidest way, didn't know if it's reciprocate or-"

"It is." you said without elaborating and he smiled.

"Y/n, I'm in love with you. And I'm saying this in the most sober way possible." you got up and the boy followed you.

"I can't imagine a life without you, Aj. I feel like you belong with me. The same way I belong to you" you said running your hand over his face and kissing him. “I love you.”

What REALLY happened at the end of MWIII

SPOILERS AHEAD! PLEASE PLEASE DNI IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS

This is based off of convos I've had with @sofasoap about what really happened at the end of the game

The smack against Johnny's temple shook him quite a bit. Having a pistol go off right next to your ear isn't something very comfortable either. So while Price and Gaz disarmed the bomb, he lay on the ground his eyes unfocused and dazed. There was blood in his eyes, streaming from the cut on his head. Headwounds always bleed a lot anyway, and his shoulder wound was only adding to the crimson on the ground. After the bomb was taken care of and his ears had stopped ringing, he was able to hear the last bit of Price's sentence. "-KIA." "The fuck? I'm not dead!" He went to grab his radio but his arm burst into pain. Oh...that's right. His arm got shot. At least he would be symmetrical now. One shot from Las Almas, one shot from here. Great. "Stay down Johnny...don't mess this up..." Simon mumbled as he patted his vest and disconnected his radio. "Mess what up?" He started to say before Simon put a gloved hand over his mouth. Johnny rolled his eyes and decided that taking a nap would be good right about now. "Yeah...make it believable. Ghost, put some more blood on the other side of his head.." Gaz was getting involved now, a grin on his face. ----------- "You can't be serious.." Johnny was sitting in medical, his arm and temple being stitched up as he pouted. "Deathly." Price said while filling out the correct paperwork. His own death certificate.

Gaz snorted in the corner as he started filling up an urn with the ashes of some other poor soldier who didn't make it. "Makarov thinks you're dead. That's a win for us. We get a new guy and you work in the shadows." Price looked up at Ghost who patted Johnny's un-wounded shoulder. "Like in Las Almas." Simon said softly. Johnny was starting to understand now. The long game...that made sense. "Alright. I get it. But the urn? Seriously Gaz?" "Gotta make it look legit. Now...where do you want your ashes spread?" Kyle was smirking and Johnny rolled his eyes. "I don't fuckin' know. How about the highlands? Over the ocean? Sounds kinda interesting." Simon snorted next to him. "Basic bitch.." He grumbled while standing to grab a backpack to carry the urn in. --------

There they went, the ashes floating over the ocean.

"Well...looks like I need a new callsign." Johnny said while shrugging his shoulders and putting his hands in his pockets. he smiled and nudged Simon with his elbow. "Hey, you're not the only dead man on the team anymore! perhaps I should be Ghost now." Simon rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Nah, needs to start with S, so we don't get you confused. How about Sprit. With that haircut of yours, you look like that fuckin' animated horse." They all looked at Simon. "You watch cartoons mate?" Gaz asked while raising his eyebrow. "Sue me, the music was good." Was the sharp reply. There was silence for a moment before Gaz spoke up again. "When I pretend to die, I wanna be called Spectre or something. Something epic and scary. nothing like your basic ones." "How about none of you pretend to die anymore okay? Jesus, you're all twisted." Price sighed while putting his hat back on his head. "Oh! We need to give you a new name sir! When you inevitably need to fake your death too," Soap said while they began to walk away from the cliff. "That's not-" "Phantom." Simon. "Nah, too basic. Cash Money is better. Because his name is Price." Gaz. "Peepaw." Everybody froze and looked at Soap. "Peepaw?" Price repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Johnny, I'm only thirty eight." Soap shrugged his shoulders and raised his hands in mock surrender. "That's ancient by our standards sir. One foot in the grave already. Ghost has been planning your wake for months now and I just know your knees ache in the-" Ghost whacked him. His own knees had started to creak and crack when he rose from bed every morning. "Watch your fuckin' mouth Mactavish." "Aye L.T"

Hi. I was thinking about something, i don't know if others have already thought about it. It's about the "taekook subunit" a lot tkkers have been pushing since ages (not gonna lie I would like a VJK subunit, or a song). They said their voices are great together, that they are the most powerful duo etc. But why do I have the feeling that if Taennie for example is confirmed they wouldn't care less about it.

Forget about the vermin. Of course if V confirms his rlship they will dip. Some already did after Paris. Whatever. Fuck them.

What i wanna talk about is that one comment. Taekook Most powerful duo? Are they high?? I know they hate Jimin but they're not the only people who sleep on Jimin. There is a difference between most popular duo and most powerful duo. Are Tkk the most popular members? Sure. Most followers, most views on fancams, yeah, sure. But are they the most powerful duo? Umm... no they're fucking not!

(Mind you, people didn't start getting obsessed with fancams until one of Jimin's fancams got millions of views. Then it became a thing in kpop to want your fav to have the most fancam views)

Hiiii I'm resending this ask just in case it got lost--do you have any thoughts on why Manfred only calls Miles by his last name (as least from what I can remember)? It's something that stuck out as odd to me when I was playing Turnabout Reminiscence for the first time considering that's basically his adoptive son but as Tumblr's #1 Manfred Enjoyer I'm curious if you have any additional insights. Loved your Manfred video essay btw and I am very much looking forward to the Franziska one too <3

couple schools of thought here

sad edgy take: purposefully othering him and reminding him (and everyone around him) he is not truly a von karma

uplifting take: miles is, in all likelihood, the last edgeworth and he does it to honour the family name, to draw attention to its resilience, or out of (performative) reverence for gregory

neutral take: manfred himself has some level of discomfort with the whole situation and views miles as both an opportunity and a burden. to address him informally doesn't feel quite right, but to invoke his last name feels like salt in the wound. however, that is a wound he must bear, and so he does.

i honestly lean toward the latter two, surprise surprise. they're in line with anime!Manfred which imo is the best written version of him. in the anime, manfred von karma admits to himself that he feels guilty for orphaning miles--NOT, crucially, for killing gregory, but for the fact that miles wound up collateral damage in DL-6. for a while, this version of manfred questions if the reason he adopted miles had something to do with that guilt.

anime!manfred also performatively talks about gregory with an air of great respect. this is 100% ingenuine, obviously, but it tells us that manfred is the type to pretend like gregory was someone he considered great and peerless.

personally i think calling miles "edgeworth" is something that manfred does without examining it himself. i do not think he made a conscious decision to do that. i think it's just what he feels comfortable with and he has not examined that comfort or lack thereof. i guess if i wanted to headcanon about it and examine that myself itd be like... "miles" feels wrong because it makes him feel too much like he's fathering the boy. and manfred would not delude himself, thinking that. edgeworth stings, though. reminds him of gregory in a completely different direction. both options feel wrong.

but, like i said, a lot of his opinions re: miles are "i got myself into this mess, and i will see it to its end." i will forever be thinking about this line:

so i think the subconscious process is like

i should call him edgeworth -> fuck that name tho i hate that dead bastard -> yeah and who's fault is it that you have to raise his son now? -> goddamnit my life is a nightmare -> "edgeworth come to dinner your sister is clawing at the table like a wild beast."

i think manfred von karma contains a nonzero amount of self-awareness, but it is a fickle thing. he's not sitting down with these thoughts. that's what i'm here for.

It's annoying that people thinking any criticism of Ned and Robb is basically painting them villains. Robb and Ned are characters who despite being good have flaws and blindspot. How Sansa, Cersei and Cat are called flag bearer of patriarchy when Ned and Robb are directly benefitting from it. Despite being in power they don't try to bring changes. No matter how much they love the girls and Cat, its true that they still believe in patriarchy.

My favorite is people pretending we're supposed to consider the fifteen-year-old kid beyond reproach in his reasoning compared to his useless, irrational mother.

Or the idea that Ned didn't become a victim of his own power to silence and suppress anyone else's influence on his decision-making.

There are really sympathetic and nuanced ways to explain why they make these mistakes. But we are supposed to use our wrinkly brains and understand that mistakes are being made. That their use of their own power, their possession of certain amounts of power is deeply flawed. It's not villainizing them to examine the effect of their own power over others and themselves.

(Which is, btw, why I have such a hard time with the term "flawed" or "mistake" when characters, particularly children, respond to a lack of power or to victimization specifically, because those are very. different. animals. It's when they do re/gain power and choices that we can start talking.)

GRRM is doing such a great job showing (not telling) how this flawed and oppressive system harms everyone, even those in power, and people miss it because he doesn't have Sympathetic Protagonist #7 pointing it out with a flip chart presentation at every instance.

you know what? I don’t care (almost) what kind of response there will be. this is a crossover. Rain World and LfL, how do you like this? I don’t know how to draw, but I love making clay figures and writing, so I’ll try to explain everything with that. I really hope that at least someone will be interested.

I won’t go into details, one of the types of animals that inhabit the Rain World is slugcats. Slugcats are playable characters. These wonderful creatures look like this:

I made Willy-slugcat. that's it.

All slugcats have something like a name, for example, the purple one is called Spearmaster, and the green one is called Saint. The big chubby one's name is Gourmand.

Willy would be called Pretender. His peculiarity is wearing masks that can be obtained from dangerous predators. These masks can be used to scare away other predators. Another property of the Pretender is that he can imitate the sounds of predators larger and more dangerous than the slugcat (for example, the hissing and bubbling of lizards).

It seemed to me that this mechanic was very suitable when we are talking about Willy Mack. . .

I'll move on to Willy. this cutie silly boi:

admit that you fell for this cute, harmless face. . . but this is still the same Willy, who can only be satisfied with meat. he is agile, resistant to falls from great heights, fast, dexterous, and very resourceful. he has a torn ear, the tip of his tail is missing (someone bit it off), he is always covered in scratches and scars. lives on the Sky Islands - a region densely populated with a wide variety of living creatures. One of his weaknesses is that he is a poor swimmer, he quickly gets tired of swimming, but he doesn’t need to swim where he lives.

BTW he's VERY associative slugcat, so he does not squeak and meow like them, he didn't have a chance to learn. His only interactions are hisses and short “barks.” just watch how cats sometimes bark and you will understand what I mean.

Most likely neither LfL fans nor RW fans will watch this. well. . . In any case, I wanted to share my work.

I'm an otherkin since I can remember. I never really have considered myself as human. My family only knew me crawling on all fours through the house and pretending I was their pet. But the real awakening I had around 2011-2012. The otherkin community I found not too long ago (I think 2021?) and never felt so understood before. I always was alone with this whole wolf thing. Even tho some friends knew about it, they called me childish and didn't really take it serious (but I still am very greatful for lots of meaningful wolfkin memories, I made with them! Some of the best memories I have) My subspecies seems to be a forever mystery cuz my fur color varies from white, to black/golden, to brown/white/black (current state). I'm more of a domesticated wolf, but that doesn't change that I'm still a wild animal (#AngerIssues).

I'm an Omega btw. I have always been the submissive pup, who's incapable of standing strong for myself (In reallife at least. On the internet, I'm a lil' bit tougher). But I would do anything for my packmates. I protect them at any cost! Also, I always try to cheer my loved ones up, as best as I can.

Over the last years, I became very aware of my surroundings and my own feelings. Like a tiny spiritual awakening.

Religiously I would say, I'm christian, but my beliefs are a little different from usual christians. I believe in heaven, but not in hell. I think, that if you lived a good life, you can go to heaven. If you did something bad, you'll have to live another life on earth that's more difficult, like a "punishment" or more like a "lesson". If you get through the tougher life and did everything right, you can go to heaven... If you commit suicide before going through your whole "lesson", you have to live another life again, to do the rest of it and so on... If you got through it, you'll be blessed with an easier/nicer life or as I said, heaven.

My biggest obsessions: freedom, nature, hiking, stargazing, stormy weather, music, daydreaming, spiders & horror

My biggest fears: ending up alone, eyes, mirrors, paranormal stuff (based on true events)

Funfact: I'm a spidermom of 30 tarantulas 🕷

writing question: i love that you give nicknames (doc/bambi/doll) to the reader/mc because seeing Y/N always takes me out of the moment. how do you come up with the nicknames and how do you know when you found the right one for that story? they always fit so well!

Thank you so much! I DESPISE the Y/N thing lol I will put down a fic for that and that alone, it glitches my brain and I will never use it. Not knocking anyone who does! It’s just my own personal ick.

The nicknames usually come to me as I’m crafting the character. I’m a character girlie, they’re why I write what I write and they’re always the first piece to a story and I craft their names from there, nickname or otherwise.

For Doc, I wanted something that 1) exemplified her ideal of caring 2) reflected the part of herself she was proudest of and 3) was something that felt natural for people to use. Doc was perfect. I also loved that she started as Kid when she had far less agency in her life but, when the world ended and she made the life she wanted in that trashed world, her name shifted into something more than that.

Doll came from wanting something that was representative of her relationship to the universe around her. I wanted something that could be both derogatory and a term of endearment because of the nature of her relationship to Mando and I wanted something that would reflect her as always kind of being a pawn in the larger machinations of the galaxy. She’s a badass but she’s never had much agency, it’s always been in the service of something else. She kind of reclaimed the idea of being a Doll - and released herself of expectation - while also finding something she wanted in the universe.

For Bambi, her central characteristics - at least at the start of the fic - is that she’s skittish and wild, very animalistic, and she’s always connected more with animals than with people. But she’s also a survivor, like Bambi who has to go on after the death of his mother. It’s kind of a false dichotomy of sounding fragile and delicate while really being almost feral and strong? This will also work well in reverse (I hope!) as she learns to reclaim emotional fragility and vulnerability after everything she’s been through.

I do the same for the real names my characters have for both fics (and yes, Doc has a real name, Bambi does too. Everyone knows Doll’s because it’s in the story, she just doesn’t use it) and books.

For example, in Ace (first book in my book series, first chapter is on here and I can share again if you want!) the main character is named Tenny, short for Tennyson. She’s named that because her parents are literature professors and Tennyson wrote on King Arthur, a great defender of his people. It seemed like the perfect name for someone who puts herself at risk to protect and inform the people of her city. Additionally, her sister is Brontë and her story is a tragic one - fitting, given some of the content of Brontë novels I think!

I also feel like this is a lot easier for me because I have a lot of very good friends where none of us use each other’s actual names lol My name on here (Kit) is from a friend like that. It’s got some ties to my real name but he mostly started calling me that because I had the bad habit of 1) not sleeping and 2) not taking off my eyeliner in high school, so I’d get shadows under my eyes and he said I looked like a baby raccoon - which is called a kit lol. He’s the one who got me into TLOU (and the one who’s reading Lavender ATM) so I was like “oh that’s the perfect name for this page” lol

its REALLY GOOD

and ive already had plans for a potential series discussing completed novel length fanfics so it could be snazzy!!

most notably though sense its written work thatll help me to not go crazy ambitous with the anaylsis: i ussually just have SO many thoughts that its hard to write down, so im hoping that covering a written work instead of something with a visual element, will help my thoughts to be more manageable sense like, i dont have as many of those entire essays over itty bitty details stuck in my head sense i dont have as much of a grasp on the itty bitty details of the written word

like bassically, because im less savy with written work my brain wont go so absolutely primal artist instinct mode feral lmaofnsdjkalfhdsk
