Will, Horace, & Halt:

The author TOOK HIS TIME to show how dealing with Halt changed Will and Horace's personalities to be more sarcastic and snarky, but also to feel more confident in themselves and let their differences aside. Do you understand what I'm saying here? The author took his time to show how living with cranky, grumpy old man affected how these characters ACT. He IS their father now. Will was kidnapped by the Skandians and Halt was SCREAMING AT THE PORT saying how he'd find him, then he commited TREASON so he could be exiled from his kingdom and start a journey with Horace to save his little guy. When Halt was THIS CLOSE FROM IMMINENT DEATH and wasn't even sure where he was, he looked at Horace, thinking he was his teenagehood best friend, and said: "hey can you take care of will and horace for me?? they are like very competent but so insecure. horace thinks i dont know that but i do am i am so worried 🥺" but he'll be damned if he gets this sappy in a situation where he DOESN'T think he's about to die, so much so that he was never this open ever again. except when he willingly said "good night, son" to will, that was intentional. that was a statement. when will got debilitating depression, who was there to try to think of solutions? thats right, halt and horace. and to think this all started with horace bullying the shit out of will when they were 15 but now they are blood brothers, they're each other's everything, their best friend, their right hand arm- man. their silly rabbits. sorry i dont have pictures of them these books are not illustrated and it makes me so sad

Interestingly, Artemis' decision to start wearing suits (and to dress more formally sensu lato) more or less follows the (presumed) death of his father and the mental break of his mother; what we see as Artemis' present-day, default sartorial styling is almost a kind of mourning attire. And, of course, I'm compelled by the many reasons (verging from banal to saddening) as to why Artemis never really stops dressing like this.

Bodyguards Malec

This one is a little out there, but imagine:

Mundane AU, both Magnus and Alec are personal security of royal heirs.

Magnus is the bodyguard of Princess Clarissa (or Prince Simon, if you wanna make it Jimon or Sizzy), and Alec is the bodyguard of Prince Jace (or Izzy, if you want to make it Sizzy or Izzy/Clary - what's their shipname btw?... Oh right! Clizzy.)

Anyway, Magnus and Alec meet a lot during events where their charges have to attend.

"So how many grey hairs has yours caused you lately?"

"Sneaked out in the middle of the night three days ago, to get into some new club in a notoriously dangerous neighborhood. I had to disarm and incapacitate about eleven wannabe gangsters to drag his/her ass back home."

"Then this might be your win, this time. Mine only stole her/his parent's mercedes to practice the three-point-turn before the drivers liscence exam next week. I had to jump in through the open window on the passenger side to take control of the wheel before he/she crashed into the iron gate."

"I locked up the car keys years ago. Then the little shit learned to hotwire a car from a youtube video… "

"Well, at least they seem to be getting along, so far. Let's hope it stays that way and there won't be an incident like two years ago."

"Don't remind me, I still have nightmares…. So, uhm, seeing as our two charges are supposed to be together on this whole press tour thing… How about dinner tomorrow?"

"I would like that. I will arrange the time off with the rest of my team."

"Same. Pick you up at seven?"

So there’s this thing in pigeon-keeping, called Tiger Swallow pigeons- it’s a cruel practice where their feathers are plucked from a young age, and after a few molts, they develop this pattern as the new ones grow in white.

And while this is a horrific practice in real life, the implications for Winged AUs is interesting… several body modifications I can think of involve a lot of hurt on the upfront for an interesting effect- so in a Winged setting, would something like this be done? To achieve a dazzling ‘striped’ pattern.

I’m a multiple paragraphs/novella style writer. I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. Not every reply has to be novella length, however. If there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going. 

I only do MxF (with me writing the female role). I don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I only want female authors writing male characters as I’ve had bad experiences with cis male authors. (Trans men and nonbinary pals are exceptions).

I'm really hoping to find a friendship, someone who can add to our story, and most importantly, someone who wants a long-term connection. It's difficult for me to write with someone if I don't feel that genuine bond. It's also important to me to have a high level of activity, with at least one reply a day. 

If you suddenly stop replying ic and ooc, I'll drop the story after 2 attempts of gauging interest spaced a week apart. But feel free to message me if you want to pick the story back up again, even months later.

An excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. (Literate to advanced writers only, please. I'm not looking for newbies)

Plot before smut. While mature themes will be in my writing, there needs to be chemistry between our characters. I normally do a 60/40 plot to smut ratio and my characters tend to be subs/switches depending on the circumstances 

 An older male character (early forties to mid-late fifties). I love the gruff and tough men with dark pasts who secretly have a soft heart. I also love grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by sweet but fiery women. My characters are mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties so the age gap is legal. 

Enthusiasm to chat about our character and ship, how to crush them and then gushing over fluffy moments. I love crying over characters and what the heck they’re doing. I want my heart ripped from my chest from angst, then feeling like it’s going to burst from overwhelming cuteness. I want us to love these characters and the world we create. I want to make pinterest boards, spotify playlists, graphics, and toss headcanons back and forth until late at night. 

Have an idea for a scene? Found a picture that inspired you? Send it to me! Be invested when it comes to plotting/worldbuilding. There’s nothing worse than receiving one sentence in reply to two paragraphs of ideas, or having a doormat partner who says “sure” to whatever I ask. Building ideas one on top of the other, watching them snowball into amazing plot threads brings me joy. But having to pull plot ideas like I’m pulling teeth makes me think you’re not interested, and I will lose interest in return.

The secret to satiating the desire to be a player is to make all your NPCs your characters! The unintended consequence of this is that, if you get too attached to any one in particular, your dear friends and players WILL flay them alive.

i’m kind of surprised that there are only 80 fics in the ‘female dragonborn/lydia’ tag on ao3. after so many years, i thought autistic transfem sapphics would’ve published more.

I loved Tankhun in episode 13.

He’s so wholesome in his worry for Pete, he is absolutely ready for a throw down and then again later he does the same for Porsche and Porchay - even willing to brave outside for them, despite not knowing where they were.

His character just shined and showed us his protective instinct and I am here for it. Tankhun is a sweetheart and the only one not so self absorbed with other stuff that he misses the important things.

Everyone else is preoccupied and Tankhun is just there adding it all up and making a picture that simultaneously scares, upsets and infuriates him enough that he immediately tries to do something about it or he goes to Kinn who is the one person that can make things happen.

I love seeing more of Tankhun anyway but this was just him being the very best of himself and I loved it.
