>summary: Bang Chan is on tour and you miss him a little too much
>author’s note: its been a while since the last fic… I also decided to write fics for other fandoms… It’s technically my first one of this kind so bare with me… its most likely bad, I can’t say Im a writer let alone a good one, but I’m bored and I have ideas sometimes
>warning: fluff, fluff, lots of fluff, Bang Chan, mention of Changbin
>pairing: bang chan x reader
Tumblr media
It’s public knowledge that Chan was simply a walking green flag, a flag so green that the red dots that stained the material were simply unnoticeable. He was simply perfect, with all his flaws and all his qualities and you considered yourself the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call him yours.
You stared out of your apartment window, the city lights twinkling below. The loneliness in the room echoed the ache in your chest as you scrolled through old photos of you and your boyfriend, Chan. You couldn’t shake off the longing that grew bigger with each passing day he was on tour.
You traced your finger along the outline of his face in a picture, as if trying to bridge the distance between you.
Nothing felt worse than being away from the one you loved the most. The pain that you felt in your chest every time something reminded you of him, which happened constantly, getting stronger and stronger every time.
As much as you were thrilled about Chan being on tour, knowing how happy he is being in his element surrounded by his beloved stays and members, you couldn’t help but hate it with the same passion you loved it with.
You hate not being with him, not being able to hug and kiss and see and touch him, you hated it all. You hated going to sleep in the cold empty bed, waking up all alone and cold, getting home in the evening to an empty apartment. Everything was lonely, but as much as you missed him, you still wouldn’t change a thing.
Even though there were times when you were away from each other, not being able to see each other for weeks, the moments when you were together were all worth it.
You found yourself sitting on the edge of your bed one lonely evening, a mix of determination and excitement in your eyes. The realization that you missed Chan a little too much hitting you like a wave.
In that moment you realised that late night facetime calls and a few text messages a day weren’t enough for you to hold onto anymore. Thats why you just landed in the country he was supposed to perform in a few days.
As you get in the taxi you feel your phone buzzing in the back pocket of your jeans. You reach for it while you tell the driver your hotel address and check your phone screen to see a message from your beloved pop up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you raised your eyes from your phone you realise that you are in front of the hotel. You pay the driver and take your bags out. You take your phone to text Changbin, who helped you pull the entire thing off.
Tumblr media
You picked up your bags and went to the hotel lobby where you waited for Changbin. Soon after you got there you see Binnie walking out of the elevator.
-Hi Bin! you said excited to see your friend and one of the reasons you were actually here
-Hi Y/nnie! It’s really nice seeing you! said Binnie pulling you in a hug
-Its great to see you too Bin, I missed you guys! Now can you please give me the key? I’m dying to see him! you said blushing, your smile as big as possible
-Sure you simp! Go pull him out of his misery! He misses you like crazy! said Changbin in a teasing voice giving you the spare key he stole from Chan
-Thank you Binnie! It means the world to me! you said and pulled him in another hug
Changbin led you to Chan’s door. He put your bags down and right when you were about to knock you feel your phone buzzing again.
Tumblr media
You hear footsteps approaching the door and you wait there nervous and excited to see him again. You see the door slowly opening and you are met with a very surprised Chan right in front of you.
-Hello my love! you said smiling, your eyes staring to get glossy at the sight of your lovely boyfriend who you have missed deeply
- H…hi! Baby… What are you doing here? he said confused yet excited to see you after so long, getting your bags and pulling you inside his room where he launched himself at you, hugging you like there’s no tomorrow
- I wanted to see you! I missed you so much! you said, your face buried in his chest as you pulled him closer to you
-I missed you too babygirl! But I thought you were going home? I didn’t expected to see you here! he whispered not really sure if this is real or it’s just a daydream
-I was going home. I am home Channie! you said smiling at him…. You are my home! you whisper loud enough for him to hear as you pulled him in a kiss full of love and desire
-You are my home too babygirl! he whispered back as you both pulled apart
You never thought that you could love someone this much, but here you were. You always thought that love was a hard thing, that it was something that it wasn’t meant for you. You convinced yourself that love won’t be a part of your existence but then, Chan came into your life and proved you wrong. Loving him was as easy as breathing. Loving him was like the fresh smell after the rain. Loving him was like a glass of cold water on a hot summer day. Loving him was like sitting in the comfort of your home in a cold day, but yet he was your home. He really was your home.

I’m not mad that my brother got a wonderful wedding and a great start in life. I’m not mad that they left from a wedding full of both their families and all their friends, to go on a honeymoon in a gifted car, and return to their apartment rented to them by a church member for way below the going rate, furnished with all the gifts my sister in law complained about having to write so many thank you cards for. I’m not mad that they got to have wedding photos, and engagement photos, and cookouts with extended family, and that my grandparents bought them an air fryer. I’m not mad that my sister in law was actually allowed to have friends as a kid and was able to have 10 bridesmaids for her wedding at age 19. I’m not mad that she’s in the family group chat and that my S/O isn’t.
And I’m not mad that I don’t get all those things, not really. I chose the way I went. I chose to make my start far away with a suitcase and a backpack. I chose my S/O and I knew she wouldn’t be someone I could bring home to meet my mama, at least not without a lot of groundwork and it would be a strained event not joyful. I chose to take out a loan to buy a crappy old car, to buy my own toaster, to take my own selfies with her to hang on the fridge instead of having framed professional wedding photos of us with our families. I chose my twenty different friends in sixteen different cities in three different countries, none of whom could afford to travel for a wedding if I did have one.
I’m not mad that I tackled most of my starting-out problems alone. That I paid three extra months of rent instead of getting my dad to co-sign on my lease. That I had to rent a uhaul and figure out how to drive it, so we could throw out most of my girlfriends stuff at the dump because we couldn’t afford to haul it to the new state and city we were going to, instead of borrowing my dads flatbed trailer and my brothers pickup and having church friends load and unload everything. I’m not mad that I was the only supporting person for my girlfriend’s recent surgery, that while my family was texting each other about my little brother’s broken wrist from playing outside I was sitting in a waiting room alone wondering what I should do if anything went wrong. This is the life that I chose, and I don’t regret it.
But I hate, I HATE that the narrative is that I chose all these things because I’m rebellious, a poor steward, a little kooky, a little lazy, a little unprepared, a little irresponsible, choosing playing around over settling down. None of those things are why I chose this way.
I chose this way mostly because of choices my family made. My parents chose to be homophobic. Chose to be the type of Christians that cry and mourn the eternal death of their kids’ souls when their kids say they aren’t Christian anymore. Chose to do the whole early childhood abuse/neglect/isolation route that gave me literal diagnosed PTSD. Like, I didn’t want to watch my mom cry and be afraid for me. I didn’t want my girlfriend to experience weird homophobic bs. I didn’t want to go to a Christian counselor with no education beyond a high school diploma anymore, I was losing my mind a bit and I needed a therapist and medication for my ptsd. I take responsibility for my choices, but I just wish they took responsibility for theirs too, I guess. Like it’s not as straightforward as it looks from their perspective. I’m not just some hare-brained kid learning what consequences are. I knew how this would all go, I chose it anyway. Not because it was easier, but because I wanted to live.

French Politics: Revenge of the Sith
MASTERPOST
Previously...
(click the link to see the animation; the text is otherwise available just below)
During Emmanuel Macron's first mandate, the government had it easy. The main challenge was to try and convince everybody in the country that ~le wokisme~ would lead to the end of civilization. It was also seen that having a presidential candidate financially supported by a certain Russian dictator was somehow acceptable. Adding to that, speaking out against the president became essentially banned on television. The 2022 presidential election was characterized by the left acting stupid, the right acting stupid, and the French middle-class being absolutely clueless. However, the left prepared for the legislative elections by uniting under the NUPES name...
So what can you expect to read about in this post?
In no particular order: bad nicknames, a prolonged game of musical chairs, the end of democracy, and Elon Musk. Yes, Elon Musk is involved.
Tumblr media
Terribly, thank you.
With Macron re-elected at the end of April 2022, he had to elect a Prime Minister. As is tradition, his previous Prime Minister, Jean Castex, resigned at the end of Macron's first term, after already having replaced Edouard Philippe in the middle of the mandate.
ENTER: ELISABETH BORNE
1) BORNE-OUT
Tumblr media
Borne had previously been minister of transport, minister of ecology and minister of labour, employment and integration. She had quite a reputation, as her previous coworkers had nicknamed her "Madame Borne-out" - an obvious play on her name and "burn-out". She was also nicknamed "Madame Bornée" (Madam Stubborn) and, as recently re-discovered, "Méchanta" (a feminized version of the word "Mean").
Obvious Prime Minister material, right?
So an incompetent wimp was followed by sadistic lady with no empathy. Surely things would go perfectly well.
Tumblr media
2) LEGISLATIVES
Next came the time to elect representatives at the National Assembly. Wikipedia describes it as the lower house of the French Parliament, the other, higher house being the Senate. We don't care about the Senate (for now), because the National Assembly is what votes on laws, while the Senate theoretically moderates the NA. The NA is more proeminent and its members are elected by the people.
Basically, the National Assembly is the core battlefield of this game of musical chairs.
I know it may be a bit boring, but you need to understand the basics to understand the drama. Think of it as the opening episodes of a Game of Thrones season, before shit hits the fan.
The National Assembly is constituted by 577 members, which means the majority sits at 289 seats. Usually, the president's party has most seats and thus, can basically do what they want.
"Usually."
Tumblr media
As stated in the opening crawl, the French Left united until a single name (while still retaining their individual parties): NUPES. Basically, they would support each other and try to put a single candidate in each territory, instead of fighting against each other. Two communist parties opted out, as they didn't appreciate the main (but weakened) left party taking so much space in the coalition.
So here are the key parliamentary groups: NUPES (the left union), LIOT (utilitarian center union; they don't necessarily share views), Ensemble (Together, Macron's union), UDC (the right) and RN (far-right).
Tumblr media
"Nobody won," said Gabriel Attal, the government's spokesperson at the time.
Macron's Ensemble party got 245 seats, so they didn't get a majority. For a while, it was thought the NUPES (the left union) might get the majority, but nope, they "only" got 131 seats - still consequent. A very bad surprise, however, came in the form of the far-right getting 89 seats, a historical score and more than the right union (64). However, Nazi newcomer Eric Zemmour didn't secure any seat for his far-right party so hey, we'll take the small victories.
So let's talk alliances: the Left union had 131 seats (32%). The Right (Macron + UDC) had 245 + 64 (38% + 7%). LIOT was a wild card (or rather, comprised of wild cards). You might assume that Macron's party, definitely right-wing, would get on just fine with the other right union, and strategically-speaking, they have 309 seats, that is, the majority.
However... Les Républicains, UDC's main party on the right, is presided by Eric Ciotti.
Let's play a game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are two Nazis. One pretends to follow the same ideas as the government, and one pretends to follow the same ideas as the government. Who's who? You've got two hours.
So the two Right coalitions don't see eye to eye, but don't worry! Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, said that Marine Le Pen (far-right) was "too soft". He also continually supports cops. So what I'm saying is that the two Right coalitions are enemies but also very similar. Still, a lot of pride and resentment.
This also means the government is majorly fascist. Surely nothing might go wrong.
3) ENTER: 49.3
What is 49.3?
Tumblr media
Pronounced /ka.ʁɑ̃tnœftʁwɑ/, 49.3 is an infamous part of the French Constitution. Americans have the Second Amendment, well we have 49.3.
49.3 exists exactly to face the kind of situation that the National Assembly is in: with no guarantee that a law will be approved by the NA, the Prime Minister might be tempted to bypass it completely. In doing so, the Prime Minister opens the possibility for the opposition to submit a vote of no confidence. If the National Assembly approves the vote of no confidence, the law is rejected and the Government is disassembled - only the President stays. That means organizing new Legislative Elections. If the vote of no confidence is rejected, the law is approved, goes to the Senate, then goes back to the National Assembly for a second read.
There's a big limitation to 49.3: you can't use it at will. That would be preposterous. Imagine a Prime Minister using 49:3 eleven times in six months. Couldn't happen, right?
Elisabeth Borne, by whom I really mean Emmanuel Macron, decided to do exactly that.
Tumblr media
Ordinarily, the Prime Minister (so Borne) is only able to use 49:3 once per year... except for laws related to finances. And oh, would you look at that, Macron had a big project planned for a long time:
la réforme des retraites
The idea is to basically extended how long we need to the national pool for retirement, before we can retire ourselves and benefit from pension. There's been a fair bit of manipulation here: the government announced they would prolong the length by two years, then less than that, then more.. But it doesn't account for people who do hard work like construction workers and the likes. People die before reaching that age. Among other young people, we often joke that we won't get any pension, but it's out of apathy, really. It's a horrible reform, it creates more gender inequality and most of all, it's unneeded. The government's justification is that it's necessary, otherwise the country will be heavily indebted by 2050, but it's obviously a pretext. Dozens of experts have said he's wrong - but Macron loves to listen to people who agree with him. Know what we could do instead?
Tumblr media
Currently, there's a guy who's richer than goddamn Elon Musk. His name is Bernard Arnault. He's the richest (officially) guy in the world. He's also French. He could fund everybody's pension for decades.
So. Anyway.
People were opposed to that reform from the very start, even in 2019-2020. Our deputies at the National Assembly filibustered for a while (basically sending thousands of amendments to be studied, most notably the Left union NUPES, while the Far-Right party RN's attempt at filibuster were lukewarm at best). Macron (through his Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe) used 49.3 to bypass the amendments... but then there were a lot of protests, and do you know what else happened at that time?
COVID-19, our beloved!
One positive consequence of the pandemic was that the government was so busy facing it (with no competence whatsoever, aside from lying a lot to the population) that they just gave up on any bill they were trying to pass.
The pandemic didn't stop, but everyone pretended it did, so here we were in 2022, and Macron was once again trying to make everybody accept his goddamn reform. Once again, filibuster happened and then Macron (through his Prime Minister, Borne) started using 49.3 like there's no tomorrow.
From October to December 2022, Borne used 49:3 ten times. Then on January 23th, 2023...
Tumblr media
"Look out! New rule!"
The government taught us there were more than 3 numbers...
Bitches, bros and nonbinary hoes: please welcome 47.1!
Pronounced ka.ʁɑ̃t.sɛtœ̃, 47.1 is the bad guy reappearing after you thought he'd been blown up already, but with broken teeth. It basically says to the deputies:
"Hey, if you don't vote for me quickly, I'll be automatically approved :-) Oh, and you can't filibuster your way through this either <3"
The bill would then go to the Senate (with a shortened debate time too), then again at the National Assembly.
"People know 49.3, it's very unpopular because it's brutal. But nobody knows about 47.1, it makes things easier for us," said a clueless Macron deputy.
People complained, because while they were confused at what exactly 47.1 entailed, they knew it was basically 49.3 with makeup.
Which it was.
4) NO CONFIDENCE
So the pension bill was voted at the Senate on March 11th, 2023. On March 15th, a Joint Committee approved it and added some stuff. On March 16th, the Senate approved the changes.
THEN IT WAS TIME... FOR THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY... TO VOTE FOR THE BILL AGAIN.
At this point, the bill was more than unpopular. Polls estimated than more than 70% of the French population was against the pension reform. The left-wing NUPES comprising 32% of the seats was very much against the bill. The far-right RN had also made it clear that they were against it (17%), as they'll do anything to be contrarian to the government - they're populists, after all. Even the right-wing-but-not-Macronist UDC (7%) was not very supportive of the bill - contrarians, proud, and a bit clueless too. But some of them truly believe the bill sucks, which is nice. They're not *all* unreasonable.
So Elisabeth Borne used her favorite secret weapon that we were beginning to miss:
Tumblr media
i hope you appreciate my quality montage
Borne 49.3'd her way through the bill, inviting everybody to gang up on her for a vote of no confidence.
The next day, Friday, two motions were submitted:
the first one by LIOT, the center alliance. It was the most likely to be approved, contrary to...
the second one by RN, the right-wing party. It wasn't likely to be approved because the RN is (rightfully) stigmatized.
The votes would take place on the following Monday, after the weekend.
5) MONEY IS MAN'S BEST FRIEND
Tumblr media
"Nobody asked you." (Arkunir proceeded to ratio Elon Musk a few more times, as well as Macron himself.)
Do you know how to easily get the approbation of a people who's protesting against a financial reform? Just get a billionaire to support you! I'm sure this will not make anything worse. Macron loves dem billionaires, after all he gave the Légion d'Honneur (an official reward) to Jeff Bezos, you know, the Amazon guy, earlier during his second mandate. Macron also has very shady links to McKinsey...
So anyway, what a weekend. Americans started speaking out, complaining about us lazy French (to them, I'll reply: mobilize for your rights!), in particular Elon Musk, who proceeded to get ratio'd (the Twitter equivalent of getting owned) multiple times by French people.
Meanwhile, Aurore Bergé, controversial chief of Macron's party for her many bad faith arguments at the National Assembly, enjoined the right to own up to what some of them had been saying against the bill for weeks. So she basically unintentionally motivated some right-wing deputies to vote favorably to the motions of no confidence.
Tumblr media
"Let's all get behind Aurore Bergé!"
Naturally, a lot of people joked about it. Some of us almost thought she was trying to destroy the party from inside.
Monday arrived, and I couldn't do anything except watch the hours-long stream of the National Assembly, starting at 4pm.
One member of every party gave a speech, basically repeating what they'd been saying. It was boring, endless, and it ended with Adrien Quatennens, and oh my god I haven't even talked about him but who cares, he's irrelevant for this portion of our history, but I still had to mention him as he represented people who don't belong to a specific party. I'll probably explain the deal about him when the time comes to talk about the 2027 presidential elections. This post is already long enough as is.
Then the votes finally happened. There was an agonizing 30 minutes to vote, and at the end of the first one (LIOT's)... It hadn't been approved. Basically all of the left, the far-right and LIOT had voted, and we only needed about 25 members of LR (the right who's not with Macron). We got a few of them, but not enough. The second vote was irrelevant. We had lost.
OR HAD WE?
Protests kept going. Actually, protests got bigger. Without much consultation, protests took place in the evening just after the vote.
In fact, as I'm writing this, the protests haven't stopped.
6) So, are we in a totalitarian state?
Study.com did a helpful explanation of what is a totalitarian state that I'll condense in simple points:
Rule by a single party: Macron certainly likes to think that's the case.
Control of the media: You could make a case for this. Officially, we have freedom of speech. Unofficially, journalists can't contradict the president. The medias love to pretend they're neutral when they're decidedly not (and a lot of big medias are owned by a fascist billionaire).
Control of education: Does defunding public education count? Possibly. The state of education in this country is regrettable, in spite of a lot of professors trying their very best.
Control of the population through propaganda, terror and intimidation: Police brutality is generalized, and Darmanin, Minister of Interior, wrongly declared that it was illegal for unwarned protests to take place. The cops enforce this fake rule by fining people who're there with no reason. There is definitely an attempt to quell the rebellion, not by listening to opponents, but by pushing through.
Control of the economy: 11 uses of an anti-democracy failsafe for the economy certainly looks like it.
Tumblr media
The Council of Europe, Amnesty International, Reporters Without Borders and Iran (yeah...) called out France for its police brutality. My university has been blocked for a week and a half and has already confirmed that it will be blocked next week as well. There are recordings - actual recordings! - where cops threaten young people, and we know this isn't a rare case at all. Lots of aggression.
A kid just died during his high school final exam because the adults refused to help him.
Marion Game, the French voice of Lois in Malcolm in the Middle or Mallory Archer in Archer, died. She was a beloved actress. I'll miss her.
Not all of this is linked to the rest, but France is having a hard time right now.
7) Remember who the real enemy is
On March 22nd, Macron did an interview at 1pm, obviously speaking to the only part of the population that loves his pension reform: people who're already retired. He repeated what he's been saying for years: "The French people elected me for my program." even though he acknowledged, when he got re-elected, that a consequent (the majority, in fact) part of his voters had only done so to counter the far-right.
Macron also said, "The [Insert offensive term for people who only earn minimal wage] have never had a better purchasing power," which is bold, both because he was even more condescending than usual, and also because EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE.
Around the same time, the French journal Libération said the following:
"When on March 21, Macron said that 'the mob, whichever it is, has no legitimacy compared to the people who affirm its sovereignty through elections', he disowns democracy three times. First off, he disowns any popular aspect of the protests, regardless of what they are, because if the mob has no legitimacy (although it is supported by unanimous unions) over one of the biggest opposition protests of the history of the 5th Republic (even with the support of the vast majority of society, especially among the workforce)... It means a social movement can't be recognized as the voice of the people."
The two other ways, summarized:
Macron's opinion isn't the voice of the people, as he can still act against the nation's interest
opposing "the crowd" and "the electors" disowns social democracy, ie. workers unions, through which the people also speak
I think it's a great formulation of what's going on.
Tumblr media
What do you mean, that's not a King Charles?
Things aren't that bad, though. Macron had to ask King Charles III to not come visit France right now. He didn't expect the protests to get worse (for him) after the failed vote of no confidence.
Adèle Haenel, one of the leads in Portrait of a Lady on Fire and real-life lesbian, spoke out in favor of the workers and said feminists had to take part in the fight.
Tumblr media
We got our own version of MinetaGate: in an interview given to the main gay magazine in France, Têtu, Olivier Dussopt, the Minister of Labour, said two things:
He came out as gay, which is something that we, the gay community, immediately rejected
He said that the government might need to use 49.3 again
It worked out so well last time...
Anyway...
I'll simply conclude with what the chief of the General Worker's Confederation said in regard to this interview:
"Either [Macron]'s completely unfamiliar with our system and that's very serious, or he's fucking with us."

Hi, I've been contemplating a trip to Japan with the main purpose of going to lives. Could you explain what the general process of applying for and buying tickets from overseas is? What do I need? How do the mobile site raffles (for DEG/sukekiyo/kyo online and so on) work? I'd really appreciate any insight on this as I've never had to go through the process myself and I've seen people saying that getting tickets is hard.
Hello! With a new tour announcement looming on the horizon hopefully next Wednesday, this is perfect timing.
Basically, disclaimer that I don't know in advance if Dir en grey will stick with TicketTown again, but assuming they do:
When they announce the new tour dates, they will usually also reveal when you can apply for tickets. And that, of course, will be for the first round of a knot lottery. If you are not a member of a knot, you probably have to wait 3-4 weeks for the general admission tickets on e-plus. See below for details, but it does not have a good prospect.
For the 25th anniversary tour22 From Depression To_____, they were not very fair and they announced that tickets were going live without any advance notice... Which sucks because there is sometimes a correlation between how fast you were to apply and how good your ticket number ends up being.
IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF A KNOT
AKA if you do not have any Japanese address to use to be a member of the official fan club, whether a friend's address or a Tenso address.
I believe that Dir en grey uses e-plus for general admission, but that site also follows the global trend of multi-factor authentification and they require a Japanese mobile phone number to send a text-message for validation.
So honestly, your best bet to avoid the mobile number obstacle is to get a Japanese shipping address with Tenso, sign up to a knot for something like $30 a year, and that way you can use TicketTown freely.
Last alternative: try and get a ticket on the resale market. Some people might announce that they have extra tickets on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. A popular resale ticket website is TicketJam, but that also requires a Japanese address in case the tickets ever become paper and get mailed again.
--------------------------------------------
IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF A KNOT
Registering on TicketTown
I can't remember exactly what I input when I created my account, but when I tried to create a new accont, it does seem that it would work with a foreign address. Everything is in Japanese, so just good luck finding your country in Katakana.
Tumblr media
(Essentially, prepare your TicketTown account before the tickets go on sale!)
Apply for a ticket
Go on the category that interests you; in this case, let's go to Dir en grey.
Select the tour and round of lottery that you are looking for or that applies. Check the dates, but basically if the period for application is over, you shouldn't see a button to apply anymore anyway.
Tumblr media
If I click on the latest round for the additional show at Shinjuku Blaze, you can see that the page asks you for your a knot login credentials before moving forward, but you also need to click on the section at the very bottom of the page to develop that box and there should be a button to apply for a ticket in the type that you want: either VIP, Exclusive or Regular a knot.
[Types of tickets:
The difference is that VIP costs way more but guarantees you a spot closer to the stage, so a much better ticket number. That being said, the official description mentioned that you could be really close to it but that's false: at Club Citta', VIP ranged from 1 to easily 150, and I don't know if you realize how many people 149 is in front of you if you aren't the tallest hah.
Exclusive usually puts you in a spot that honestly sucks: either on the second floor at the very back of the venue, or near the console for sound and lighting also near the bak... But it depends on each venue, so it might be worthwhile in some cases.
Both VIP and Exclusive come with the bag of exclusive goods: the portrait set, a coloured ticket, merchandise of varying levels of usefulness.
Regular a knot is probably just like regular general admission, but you *should* have a better ticket number than someone in gneral admission. That has not always been true for me, at all, but I had indeed applied very late into the second round of a knot lottery... Usually, a regular a knot ticket would still be a coloured design ticket rather than the general admission. ]
Lottery results & payment
I think that you receive an email when the results come out, which are still preliminary, as the actual ticket number will be revealed closer to the show date. But of course they want you to pay up-front, so you follow the link in the email or go back to your TicketTown account, then you confirm which ones you keep and enter your payment information for them. That would be credit card only, for overseas users, from what I remember.
On the night of the show, click to see your ticket but make sure not to click on the "use ticket" button or something like that.
By the way, at the shows, besides this upcoming Shinjuku Blaze special event, they usually never ask for ID or even for a proof that you are part of a knot.
If you have any questions once the next tour's tickets are up for sale and that I can actually provide concrete examples of what you should click on and what the exacy wording is, then feel free to ask!

President Biden delivered a heartfelt Christmas message by video (watch here on Twitter via The Lincoln Project.). I recommend watching the video, but if you are unable to do so, the text of President Biden’s comments is below:
The Christmas story is at the heart of the Christian faith, but the messages of love, hope, peace, and joy are universal. It speaks to all of us whether we are Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, or other or no faith at all. It speaks to all of us as human beings who are here on this earth. To care of one another, to look out for on another, to love one another. Our politics has gotten so angry, so mean, so partisan. And too often, we see each other as enemies, not as neighbors. So, my hope this Christmas season is that we take a few moments of quiet reflection. Find that stillness at the heart of Christmas and really look at one another. Not as Democrats or Republicans. Not as members of Team Red or Team Blue, but as who we really are—fellow Americans, fellow human beings. Worthy of being treated with dignity and respect. I sincerely hope this holiday season will drain the poison that has affected our politics and set us against one another. I hope this Christmas seasons marks a fresh start for our nation because there is so much that unites us as Americans. There is so much more that unites us than divides us. So, this Christmas, let’s spread a little kindness, let’s be that helping hand, that strong shoulder, that friendly voice when no one else seems to care for those who are struggling in trouble and need. It just might be the best gift you can ever give. I wish you—and for you—and for our nation, now and always, that we will live in the light. The light of liberty and hope, of love and generosity, of kindness and compassion, of dignity and decency. So, from the Biden family, we wish you and your family peace, joy, health, and happiness. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best in the new year! God bless you all, and may God protect our troops.
Donald Trump's holiday message.
Trump posted his holiday message on Truth Social. I have excluded most of the hateful vitriol in the message. But here is the gist—and the concluding lines:
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL . . . Includ[ing] World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as EVIL and SICK as the THUGS we have inside our Country . . . . [Including the] Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, [who] are looking to DESTROY our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Concluding Thoughts.
We are witnessing two radically different visions of America unfold in real-time. Having just experienced Christmas through the eyes of two three-year-old(ish) granddaughters, I know which vision of America I am hoping will prevail.

LES MIS SPANISH CENSORSHIP ADVENTURES
I own two spanish translations of les mis. The first one is the most famous and the one that's in most people's houses but it has censorship in it because it's from 1862 and people changed the lenguage a bit through time but never thought to check it with the original french. The new one is the first one without that censorship. I have found another version in the archives that seems to not censor some of it too but I didn't check the whole book out so I can't confirm. All in all there were other translations but because this first one went into public domain pretty quick, it was the one that got reprinted the most and the most easy to find in my country to this day.
So! There's a lot of changes between the two translations I have and I like to look at what was cut and changed and try to guess at why. Maybe I'll do it at the same time I do the les mis letters review. Maybe probably I won't have time once I get back to my job. Either way! I am doing it for these first chapters. I mostly look at the 1810 Spain freedom of press law for the reasoning on the changes. It specifically mentions the writings will be censored if they're offensive to the Monarchy and its laws, to public decency and good morals; and that all writings on matters of religion will be reviewed by the ecclesiastic ordinaries. It also mentions that three of the members of the Supreme Board of Censorship are ecclesiastics, two of the members of the provices are as well, and the rest are secular clergy.
Right, having given the info and context for this, let's go
M. Myriel Becomes M. Bienvenu
The part where a bunch of names are listed as having been in the episcopal palace cuts out the fact that Jean Soanen was a predicator to the king in the old translation. They don't cut any name, just that specific thing about their relationship to the king I am guessing because of implied offense to the monarchy ??
"Things will not go well, M. le Comte, until the Emperor has freed us from these black-capped rascals" The new translation uses a much more offensive word in the place of rascals compared to the old version, 'meapilas' ( literally, stoup-pisser, coming from the origin quote 'this guy pisses holy water') vs 'cassocks' in the old translation but it's not that much of a change to the overall text.
A Hard Bishopric for a Good Bishop
First cut of a line! This is a line that doesn't seem to be in the version we're reading the letters in, but it is in other translations and I thought it being cut here was very in line with other cuts that are made later on with the bishop character.
From Christine Donougher's translation:
"On his visits he was kind and indulgent, and did not so much preach as chat. He placed no virtue beyond reach. He never went looking very far for his arguments and his exemplars. To the inhabitants of one village he would cite the example of the neighbouring one." The old spanish translation cuts the virtue line and the new one recovers it, roughly translating it as "He never placed any virtue in an inaccessible plateau".
THEN when talking to the second group of village people, the old translation has them as 'slothful/lazy' rather than 'greedy' which changes the feeling of it A LOT, even though the rest of the text is pretty similar. It feels like he's shaming them for not working enough vs the original text being of him trying to get them to not only look out for their own selves but form a community where they all can rely on each other and help each other in solidarity. you can see what I mean below: "In villages whose inhabitants were slothful, he said: “Look at the people of Embrun! If, at the harvest season, the father of a family has his son away on service in the army, and his daughters at service in the town, and if he is ill or incapacitated, the curé recommends him to the prayers of the congregation; and on Sunday, after the mass, all the inhabitants of the village—men, women, and children—go to the poor man’s field and do his harvesting for him, and carry the straw and grain to his barns and granaries.” (old spanish translation)
VS In greedy villages for profit and harvest, he said: “Look at the people of Embrun! If, at the harvest season, the father of a family has his son away on service in the army, and his daughters at service in the town, and if he is ill and incapacitated, the parish priest makes his case known in the sermon; and on Sunday, after the mass, all the inhabitants of the village—men, women, and children—go to the poor man’s field and do the harvesting, and carry the straw and grain to his granary.” (new spanish translation)

Everything below this line is sad. If you are not in a place to experience secondhand grief, feel free to skip this post.
You’ve been warned.
About two years ago (not really sure anymore), I lost a friend of mine to COVID. I didn’t know how to grieve, so I didn’t, but I had a reminder of a different kind of loss today and wondered why it hit me so hard. So, in an attempt to take a couple steps towards figuring out how to deal with the emotion without burying it in logic, I’m doing two things today.
The first is the bowls pictured above: Mexican lasagna, because we made lasagna together, and she was a Latino-American ball of sunshine. The one on the right is hers, my roommates and I are gonna leave that one be for a while (hopefully the cats respect that), the one on the left and the rest of the pan are for the household. Yay lunch.
The second is talking about her, and I’m doing this here because I can trust Tumblr to leave this public but not broadcast to a mob of people who will assault me verbally for needing an outlet. As I’ve done so often (albeit not much recently), I’m gonna tell a story. A true story this time. Here’s another chance to leave before things get really emotional.
I met Alicia in my freshman year of high school; she was running for class president, and I’d just arrived a few days late to the school year because I’d transferred out of Big-Ass Public School to Small Charter School. We had a couple classes together, and we talked to some of the same people, but ultimately the only reason it went any further was because she asked me for my phone number. I was on a pay-per-minute plan which I rapidly started chewing through (and eventually upgrading to a normal unlimited talk/text plan) almost exclusively because of her. We got to know each other pretty well as friends; I asked her out on a date in a rather muddled way, and for the next couple years I lived in a limbo thinking I was in some will-they-won’t-they teen drama.
That was not the case.
She was a leading member of the school’s robotics club; around junior year, I joined that club because she was in it and my parents wanted me to build on my college application checklist. It was not a good fit, and I took that out on a few people, her included. I tried ghosting her. She didn’t make that easy. I appreciate that now a lot more than I did then.
During senior year, as everyone made plans, we chose disparate paths: she chose to attend the local college for a degree in social work, because if anyone could save the world it was certainly her, and I decided I wanted to be anywhere but where she was. That ended up being enlisting; i joined my country’s military for a few reasons, but the honest truth was trying to escape responsibility for taking the closest relationship I’ve had with someone and throwing it away through pettiness and poor reading of social cues. It may be the one thing I hate that my autism has contributed to.
Training took a while; when I was about to leave for my first duty station, I went back home to say my goodbyes to family and friends, her included. We cleared the air between us - on my end, for the first time ever, for her it was more of an “oh that explains a lot.” We wished each other the best. Our lives continued without really intersecting too much.
COVID wasn’t a bad time for me - it hit before I actually started working, so I had time to kill, and it a way it saved my prospects as a service member because I was flunking the physical requirements hardcore and the lockdown bought me some time. I started writing fanfic seriously, leading to this blog here. I’d made new friends based on shared interests and occupation, we played DND together, and I was sure that despite her severe medical conditions which put her at risk that she was behaving wisely. She wouldn’t have any issues with COVID, I told myself, and she told me once I believe. She was always smarter than she thought she was… but she needed to see people too, she needed that social interaction, and she was working as a cleaner alongside her classes.
I don’t know which of those actually killed her. I don’t particularly think it would make it any easier.
I didn’t know what to do with the news she died. So many emotions flooded my field of vision I didn’t process any of them; when my folks told me there would be a funeral, I skipped out, didn’t think it do me any good to stand in front of a grave with some amount of people and say words to a person who couldn’t hear them… I’m sorry, past me, but you really fucked us there.
A few years passed. I’ve gotten into a couple other fandoms since then - namely, Hololive and by extension the game Weiss/Schwarz which has Hololive cards in it. A streamer from that group, Tsukumo Sana, had to quit streaming as that character after I joined the fandom, and it hit me much harder than I expected. I thought I was feeling other people’s pain, and until today lumped it to the side with that assumption. It didn’t occur to me that I was feeling echoes of my own pain refracted in another form, one loss reminding me of another. I simply carried on with my business, crying on very rare occasion. Crying takes up to time, and I only had so much of that to do what I wanted to with it since by that point I’d started doing what the military trained me for, what I volunteered to do.
This is where Weiss/Schwarz comes in. I’m a creator, I create things, and that includes custom cards when I get into a new card game. A while back I made some Ina and Sana cards because neither of them had enough to play a full deck with just the two of them represented as characters. I mentioned this yesterday in a Discord server for custom cards, and someone suggested a set that gave additional cards to all of the retired characters - the ones the casual majority are aware of, at least - would be nice to have. I started working on that this morning, and seeing lovingly created art of these characters before and after they retired, before and after thousands of people’s’ best wishes for those people were crushed by circumstances beyond their control, before and after those characters essentially “died”… I finally made the connection. I wasn’t feeling the level of grief i have been for anime characters whose seiyuus (voice actresses) had stopped acting for. I was feeling grief I’d kept repressed for years by this point because it felt easier to do that than reflect on myself…
Alicia, I’m sorry it took this long for me to figure that out. I’m sorry I wasn’t there with you when you were dying, that I didn’t go to your funeral, that I ran in the opposite direction from anything to do with you because I didn’t want to be wrong about my chances at more than a friendship with you. I’m sorry to myself I buried all this shit in the deepest corners of my mind to avoid having to experience temporary pain, because now I’m experiencing the pain and the guilt of knowing I could have dealt with this better. Hindsight’s only 20/20 when you’re not half-blind, but I’ll try not to have such thick sunglasses on going forward.
I loved you, Alicia. I still do. I hope that the God you served with such fervor tells you that, and that one day I’ll be able to say it you personally.
I hope you enjoy the lasagna. I’m gonna eat mine now. Until we see each other again, friend.

🤝👤 for writing ask games
thank ya for asking! :D
🤝 Have you ever collaborated with somebody and written/created something together? Was it fun or difficult to do?
OOH so i've created a whole semi-open species called Kallitrix with my childhood bestie!! obligatory invite to our discord below (we also have a toyhouse world) but anyway, i had this idea about a young dream witch who adventured across the world with her shapeshifting shadow companion. my friend loves magic and witches, so we used this idea as a basis for making a whole bunch of ocs together.
LATER we reused this lore for familiars created by witches to help them out with basic requests, tasks, and so on, and we named them kallitrix :D it's been an absolute pleasure to work with my bestie. their mind is *chef's kiss* and it's awesome when we just hype each other up abt ideas we come up with, or seem to share a braincell and randomly converge on ideas, things like that.
technically, i also think of rping as writing a story collaboratively, so when i was into that, it was also fun and uniquely challenging to keep the story going, see what our characters do, etc.
👤 Share a description, drawing, Picrew, etc. of your OC!
OK ummm i have so many but i'll pick dmitri bc he's my favorite who lives rent free in my head.
Tumblr media
i always get stuck at sketching when i make character refs, but his other, more complete ones are outdated now so :P
dimitar is a cardiac surgeon and former combat medic! he's kinda cold and takes a while to warm up to new people, but he's very caring as a person and a hoot to be around when he's comfortable (or drunk). he can be pretty harsh and has a dark, sarcastic sense of humor. he also enjoys hiking, winter sports, and ballroom dancing :) additionally, he's very proud of his home country, bulgaria, and is a big fan of roses. he met his best friend, stoyan, while they were in the army together!

Imagine you speedrun Undertale and at the end if you go below a certain threshold Flowey pops up and is like "How many hours did you waste to achieve this you idiot?" And he closes the game and forces you to never press X to skip dialogue again or some shit

I think the fandom doesn't use the meme potential of reblogging literally any textpost and tagging it spamton even if it has nothing to do with him. We could change that

Maybe it's because I'm not from the same country as most of my mutuals but it's kind of funny when I read people arguing that Hometown is weird and then list some things that are completely normal for anyone that has slightly different culture.
"But why do they have a hospital with two rooms and someone staying there?" slightly modified Family Health Center (rough translation), next question.
"But What Does Sans Sell? his store is so small why does he have magazines? How would the characters buy X Item?" Have you ever entered a boliche? A corner store? They don't just sell food sometimes I've even bought cleaning products and your average school supplies.
"How is it possible chapter 3 is church day when chapter 2 was a week day?? Do they have school on Saturday?" Deltarune could be set in literally any day of the week if chapter 3 takes places during a local religious holiday. It doesn't need to be some christian Sunday. The school week doesn't even need to be Monday to Friday.
Now "Why is there a bunker far into the Southern edge of town?" is indeed a weird thing and the game is setting it up that way. Go wild with theories.

My #1 post of 2022
NOnonono but the entire point of the promise Sans makes to Toriel about "protecting the human coming through the door". Is that he really doesn't know who she is beyond the conversations they've had so far. And he doesn't know who the human coming out from there is. But they still trust each other to make it happen, regardless of timeline.
This happens regardless of Toriel's fate in the game. If you kill her, but not Papyrus, he still comments on this promise.
And here's the thing. He has to make the decision of trusting this woman he is fond of, but ultimately doesn't know beyond what they've shared together.
And Toriel had to make the decision of trusting him too. She is convinved that the world outside the Ruins will be hostile, because she knows what's happened before. And it fucking hurts to think it could happen again. And yeah I've heard all about it how she "rejected" her duty and didn't make the right choice back then. I think Toriel is somewhat aware of that. Her moving to the Ruins was a choice she made while grieving too, but it is a decsion that goes according to her integrity as well.
ANYWAYS I'm getting sidetracked. What I mean with this post is that the implications of trusting someone else with something that is so personal, because you know your limitations (because of flaws or any other cause), and having that person receive this in a good way is so important.
And while Sans is not the best at actively doing that job, it is still remarkable how much this promise is on his mind.
The VERY LAST THING he does before his No Mery fight is apologizing to Toriel, or his memory of her, because he had to break that promise.
This post is a mess but... I need to rotate them. And also I always get a little mad when people assume that Sans doesn't make that promise when Toriel dies, like in No-Mercy. Because the whole deal about the promise is that it happens before the game, it is not something anyone, not even Flowey, can affect, and it is a reflection of the closeness the two have, so placing this as something Toriel does only if she deems the human a good person, and something Sans only "keeps" when Frisk is pacifist just takes away that weight.
Also go play neutral routes they're super interesting to make character analysis. Different events affect different characters in specific ways.

Text, 2022 There is a fly circling around this room that I am currently occupying. My lover is going around with a cup in their hands, in an attempt to capture and release. Misguided attempt, if you ask me. After a few minutes of trying, they have forfeited the cup as a weapon and moved onto a kitchen towel. Several attempts have been made until the fly surrenders to its death; cause? A kitchen towel smacking it along the windowsill. Was it worth it? The buzzing sound has ceased to make way for the crackling of leaves. //// Ammonium nitrate has been stored in our basement for some time now. The management is coming round next week to inspect for security regulations. How will we manage to transport it to an off-shore facility? Should we just save ourselves the hassle of transporting it and pay a fine to the respected authorities? Will they confiscate it off our hands, regardless? Was storing it in our basement necessary? What did we get ourselves into? Can the law be manipulated in our favor, if we bribe a few officials? Would that be called saving grace? //// An explosion at the Beirut port where ammonium nitrate was stored which destroyed many lives and caused countless of damage. An inflation where 70% of the population lives below poverty. Corrupt politicians playing an active role in furthering the country’s descent into darkness. I have a grandmother, named Wahiba - who raised three children alongside her husband, Assad—during a civil war. She was a teacher and he was an architect. Their lives were uprooted, like many others, in ways that are inconceivable. Most nights were spent in a bunker. Most days were spent at school. Whenever the electricity was on, people were glued to a television set to watch the latest news. When the power cut out, backgammon was played with a candle and a radio playing in the background. My grandparents tried to establish a sense of normality amidst a siege on the streets of Beirut. There were many questions that circulated in people’s minds… when would this war end? If my loved ones exit through that door, would they make it back alive in one piece? If we cannot leave, how can we latch onto glimmers of hope amongst the decay that seems to permeate in each crevice? The reconstruction period of the city evoked hope and in that the worst is over and better times are coming. Today, the picture is much different. Assad died after stage three of stomach cancer was detected too late and succumbed to death shortly. Wahiba has alzheimer and does not remember much, neither her neighborhood which she has been in for over forty years nor her daughters. The only preoccupation she has is eating a piece of cake and smoking a cigarette, one after the other. Is there a word to describe the fear of forgetting memories and of oneself? Jotting down notes franticly onto notebooks full of coffee stains and torn out pages. So that when amnesia starts to settle in, you’ll have notebooks filled with illegible writing, bullet points that seem to take over the page and poorly drawn tables with information that does not seem pertinent to what has passed. Is it necessary to cling onto memories that contain misery, pain and regret? If rumination is a past time habit, what happens when the memories fade away, what does rumination set its claws onto then? The steady decline that comes with having alzheimer. Forgetting memories, people, habits.
A refusal to eat.
A refusal to talk.
A refusal to sleep.
The burden of rotating care between family members. The anger that emerges from the prospect of death. The bureaucratic mess of inheritance. What does fulfillment look like beyond the act of survival?

Did a bunch more LinkedIn stuff today... Some SEO, all the CompTIA IT cert prep classes. Guy threw a pizza party for dinner so that was nice :P One of the other guys who came back from the counselor lady said that she apparently no longer wants clients or wants to do any sort of smartphone or computer monitoring so either we aren't going to have phones at all now or BOP is going to have to find someone new :|
Review I wrote for WELD works Seattle
Was referred by RRC staff. Was told they provided backpacks with hygiene and other general supplies (did not receive anything). Attended 2 unpaid all day classes between a "pre-orientation" and an "orientation" during which I supplied all my personal information and government documentation including ID and social security card. Whole lot of talk about how helpful everyone was going to be and how much they were going to work with people and were the only people in the country doing what they are doing. Very self-hyped. Watched multiple relatively poorly put together presentations that had typos and hard to read text due to poor design and background choices. Lot of apologies from staff about being new to presenting or new to the position they were currently doing. Met with other staff members who I was told would be able to answer questions I had about programs and services. None of the staff I was referred to had much in the way of answers they just referred me to other people or agencies to ask them. I don't feel it was intentional I just think there is poor communication between their staff and they are unclear of what each others jobs actually entail and what they are and aren't able to assist with. After attending the 2 unpaid orientations I then attended part 1 and 2 of a "life skills" class the following day. The class itself was fine if extremely basic, the lady who ran it showed up late then had us meditate for several minutes. The class specifically mentions resumes multiple times in the description but we never got to that and she didn't want a paper copy of my resume to give advice on despite offering to look over resumes and give advice. I asked about emailing it to her as she had volunteered during the class to look over resumes and talked up her decades of HR hiring experience. Never heard from her again after emailing the resume for tips. Another resident was told that same day that he was being dropped from the program due to his charges. Was told before attending the next class I signed up for 5 days later that WELD was no longer accepting everyone and had dropped me and like 6 other people from my RRC from their roster. No doubt they are extremely helpful to certain people but even their target demographic at my RRC does not speak well of the jobs they have been placed in and have almost universally stopped going and joined other similar programs they felt provided better quality higher paying jobs. All jobs talked about or offered by WELD at my RRC were physical labor jobs at below prevailing wage for the jobs. To me personally the group discussions with the other attendees at the program before, during, and after the classes were more productive than the classes themselves.

The red letters are in FE-style and the code follows the format "T xx yyyyy". The small-size version with the blue strip "USA" and NATO insignia is in use.

The US vehicles do not have to comply with EU lighting and emission regulations since the US standards are different.Īt the end of 2008 the US Forces started to introduce a new plate for temporary registration of vehicles (transfer plates). Frankfurt, Bamberg, Heidelberg, Kaiserslautern or Würzburg area), just like a regular German vehicle the only difference is that they will be exempt from German tax and safety inspections (TÜV), but since the change the vehicles have to comply with EU sound regulations, are not allowed to have their front windows tinted and have to comply with all EU safety regulations. Each vehicle now displays the prefix for the area where the owner registered the vehicle (i.e. Re-registering with German plates began in December 2005. In 2005, the US Forces in Germany decided that service members' private vehicles should carry normal German plates for security reasons. Since the change to local German plates (see below) this rule is no longer valid. When traveling outside Germany, US military laws required that USA sticker be displayed on the rear of the car. But in this special matter this law is not enforced in Germany with US Army vehicles. By law the vehicles must carry the "USA" sticker since they are registered by a non-European Union country. For official vehicles the code "IF" is used with standard-size plates. So they discontinued issuing plates with "AF" and began using "HK" (which is now used by the German district Heidekreis) instead. After some time they realized that AF could be easily interpreted as Armed Forces or Air Force, defeating the purpose of using German-style plates. When the US forces began using this system, they chose the first two-letter codes not yet used in the German registration system, namely AD (standard size) and AF (small size). US-market vehicles without proper mounting brackets for European-standard plates received plates made to a small size which is in Germany normally dedicated for light motorcycles or agricultural vehicles. The lower sticker showed the text: "Streitkräfte der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika in Deutschland" ( Armed Forces of the US in Germany). Furthermore, unlike the German one this sticker is punched to indicate clearly the date. The plates' upper sticker showed the expiry date of the plate, rather than technical fitness as the German one does. Their plates carried the NATO insignia on a blue background instead of the EU stars, the USA country code, and registration numbers starting with AD, AF or HK, while numbers starting in IF on similar plates were used for official NATO vehicles of all non-German nationalities.
