Not me procrastinating both my post tlj fanscript and every thing else important in my life with more random reylo...
It took me a while to figure out the context in which this could actually happen. Probably Ben Solo fighting with the Resistance, trying to prove and redeem himself and make things right. He'd feel the pressure to do it all by himself until it would crush him completely. Rey would remind him to take a break (unintentional Hamilton reference this time! lol I swear on my heart, body and soul) and keep him grounded.
I am not comparing Ben to Hamilton btw, in case it comes across like I am. My head is just very random sometimes.
Don't mind me dropping the video of the actual performance at the very end, because ⭐Phillipa Soo⭐ everybody!

That Would Be Enough
Summary: Natasha is not happy to be sent home early from a mission. When she returns to a surprise, will all of those feelings fall away? (Basically, I saw Hamilton live and have been thinking of this ever since.)
Pairing: Natasha x Reader
Words: 850
Warnings: slight angst, mostly fluff, Natasha is upsetti-spaghetti, pregnant!reader, gp!Natasha, NO SMUT, Natasha had a penis for genetic reasons, oh yeah! and more fluff
Inspired by the song That Would Be Enough from Hamilton
Tumblr media
The door opens and the sound of keys dropping on the table echoes through the apartment.
Heavy footsteps betray Natasha's frustration. She was nearly seven months deep into an undercover mission, when she was pulled and sent home without an explanation. She tried to fight Fury on this with no luck.
She sulks into the home that she shares with her wife, Y/n.
Y/n heard her the moment she walked, and anxiety filled her when she heard the keys hits the table. She rounds the corner to meet her wife in the kitchen. She waits in the doorway, awaiting her wife's reaction.
Natasha hears footsteps behind her and takes a deep breath. Despite her agitation, she doesn't want to lash out on her innocent wife. She forces a smile and turns to greet her, but she instantly halts when she takes in the sight of her wife.
Her pregnant wife.
She stares in shock at Y/n's swollen stomach. Eventually the assassin forces her eyes to meet her wife's, "how long have you known?"
"A month or so," Y/n tries to shrug, but her wife's gaze flits down to her stomach which looks about ready to pop. There is obviously no way, Y/n found out a month ago.
Natasha looks back to her wife incredulously.
Y/n relinquishes with a heavy sigh, "six mon- seven… seven months. I found out a week after you left." She holds her breath for her wife's response.
"Y/n, you should have told me."
"I wrote to Fury a month ago," she tries to reason, "I asked him to send you home when the time was right-"
"No, you should have told me!"
The pregnant woman takes a step back. She knew her wife would be shocked by the news, maybe a bit upset, but now she sounds angry.
Her tone puts Y/n on edge, "it was a no contact mission-"
"There are ways, Y/n," Natasha paces back and forth in the kitchen, "you know there are ways-"
"I'm not sorry, Natasha."
Natasha turns away from her wife. She leans against the counter and hangs her head.
Y/n stands resolute, "I knew you would stay until the mission was completed-"
The widow shakes her head and whispers, "that mission isn't done."
"I also know that every mission comes with a risk," Y/n pulls Natasha's shoulder until they are face to face.
"A chance that you won't come home, and I couldn't risk that any longer. Not now." She cups her wife's face with her hands, trying to raise the widow's gaze to meet her own, "all it would take is one piece of bad intel, one stray bullet and you never get to meet your son."
Natasha's eyes finally meet Y/n's, "son?"
Y/n smiles and nods. She leans forward to rest her forehead on her wife's. The widow's hands come up to caress the swollen stomach ever so gently.
"It's a boy?" she asks reverently.
Y/n releases a breathy chuckle, "yes love."
All of the tension between them seems to fall away as they both bask in each other's presence.
Natasha lowers herself to her knees, so she is face to face with her wife's swollen stomach. "Hello baby boy," she smiles and presses her lips to the bump, "you don’t know me yet, but I'm your other mom."
No sooner had the words left her mouth that she feels a push against her palm. Her eyes go wide with wonder, and she looks up to Y/n with a grin.
"He knows you. I played videos and voice recordings of you every day so he would know your voice," Y/n strokes the widow's cheek.
Natasha's eyes fill with tears. She quickly stands and pulls Y/n into her arms. She captures her lips with her own. "I love you," she whispers when she pulls away.
“I love you,” Y/n fully relaxes for the first time since she found out she was pregnant.
Guilt grips the widow. She thinks of the mission, all the people who could suffer if it is left unfinished. "I have to go back," her tone is completely reluctant, "... the mission... I have to finish-"
"Natasha please," Y/n presses a hand to her lips to silence her, "look at us. Look at where you are." She grabs Natasha's hand and brings it back to her stomach, "think of where you started and all the good you've done to get here. You deserve this."
The widow stands frozen, still stuck between her duty to her family and her duty to save the world.
Y/n desperately tries to get through to her. "I understand how important this is to you. I can never ask you to give it up entirely. There will be other missions. I know it's part of the territory. As long as you come home to me, I'm not angry. I know what I signed up for..."
...she pauses for a deep breath, "but I need you for this part, Nat. This baby could come any day now, and I can't do this without you.” Tears roll down her cheeks as she begs, “please stay, that's all I ask. That would be enough, please Natty."
"Shhhhh," Natasha hushes her wife. Taking the other woman into her arms, she holds her entire world close to her heart. She can’t bring herself to let go. "Shhh, I'm here. I'm staying."
The rest of the world can wait. Her family needs her now.

That Would Be Enough
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joel & wife!reader
Warnings: swearing, insecurities, thoughts of death, talk of lost family member
WC: 662
Rating: fluff, angst
Tags: established marriage, joel miller angst, anxiety
Prompt: Taking place in Jackson, you wake up to find Joel having a bit of a crisis. (and yes i was listening to Hamilton when this idea came to me)
Look around, look around at how lucky we are
To be alive right now
You awaken from a restless sleep. You reach over to find a cold emptiness emanating from Joel’s side of the bed. “Joel?” you call out. Upon hearing nothing, you raise from your bed, throw on one of Joel’s shirts, and leave the room.
You start your search through the house, the only sound being the padding of your bare feet on the wooden floor. Upon coming downstairs, you see the kitchen light on and hear only soft mutterings “-shit- shit… get it together fucker”, followed by a sniffle, and a wavering breath so low it barely registers.
You quietly pad up to the kitchen counter, Joel so in his head about whatever is torturing him that he doesnt even notice you as you come right to his side. You reach towards his clenched fist, going slowly so as to not spook him, and upon feeling your feather-like touch on his hand, his fist instantly unclenches, letting you intertwine your fingers with his. “Hey baby”, says Joel, the words coming out more strangled than he initially thought. Clearing his throat, he continues; “I didn’t wake ya up did I?” he asks quietly, still not looking right at you. “No. No you’re good, big guy”, you reply, giving him a soft smile, wrapping your free hand around his arm and lightly rubbing patterns with your thumb. “I can’t really sleep though, if I know that you can’t. What’s wrong?” you ask, feeling his fist re-clench, but not as tight so as to not hurt you.
“Stupid shit, baby”, he mumbles. “Nothing for you to worry about”. “Well since you made me your wife, you made it my job to worry about you. Whatever it is, it’s not stupid shit”. He smiles a little at that, the tightness in his chest easing little by little.
“I don’t know. Lately-... seein’ Tommy and Maria happy, seeing how happy you n’ Ellie are here, got me thinking about Sarah… wonderin’ if she’d be happy here”. The last part comes out in a whisper, fresh tears making their way down his cheeks. “Oh, Joel”, are the only words that you can muster, as you pull Joel into the tightest hug you can manage. You sink to ground together, Joel pulling you into his lap and burying his face in your neck.
Look at where you are
Look at where you started
The fact that you're alive is a miracle
Just stay alive, that would be enough.
You stay like that for a while, running your fingers through his salt-and-pepper curls, rubbing his back in soothing circles. “Joel, honey. Look at me” you urge gently, moving your hands to his face, tilting his head so that he was eye level with you. Rubbing the tears from his cheeks, you continue, “Honey, she would be happy to see that you’re still here. How you’ve managed to survive this long, how many people you’ve saved, how we’ve managed to stay together.”
I don't pretend to know
The challenges you're facing
The worlds you keep erasing and creating in your mind
But I'm not afraid
I know who I married
So long as you come home at the end of the day, that would be enough.
“I know baby... Just sometimes I get in my head and shit goes downhill. Makes me wonder if you would be happier with someone else.” he mumbles. “Hell no.” you cut him off before he can go any further, “I married you Joel Miller, and nothing about you would change my mind about that. I don’t and can’t begin to understand how you manage to go about your day the way you do, but you don’t have to do it alone. I know the man I married and I love every part of him. As long as you come back to me at the end of the day, that would be enough”.

"in clearing your name, you have ruined our lives." - burn
"i love my sister more than anything in this life, i will choose her happiness over mine every time." - the reynolds pamphlet
"forgiveness, can you imagine?" - it's quiet uptown
"fools who run their mouths off wind up dead." - Aaron Burr, Sir
"so this is what it feels like to match wits with someone at your level, what the hell is the catch?" - satisfied
"just stay alive, that would be enough." - that would be enough

In honor of Hamilton coming to the Philippines, here is a rewrite i did of the lyrics of the end bit of That Would Be Enough. Its set during the cheating arc/say no to this-reynolds pamphlet-burn (this is most likely not what its called but i cant think of the proper term for it rn). Basically it takes the place of where burn is (not that burn is bad its very good i like it alot). I am not a musician or lyricist by any means so its not that good but i thought itd be fun. Full credits to Lin Manuel Miranda for the original songs.
But I am afraid
I no longer know who I married
If you would just come home at the end of the day
That would be enough
You ruined our legacy
You got your money
I couldn’t grant you piece of mind
You didn’t let me inside your heart
Oh, ive removed myself from the narrative
In the stories they will write someday
Let this moment be the last chapter
Where I ask you to stay
But I am not enough
We were not enough
What would be enough
Feel free to sing it or anything 👍 and if it applies give credit please and thank you

Physically being kept up by this thought need to toss it out before I can sleep but. I think? I want to draw another set of character references for Heartless. Specifically, the future part of the AU.
I want to see Heart in his new mobility aids and happy with it.
I want to see Perseverance to be able to let his hair down literal and lose his eye bags.
I want to see Penitence to get comfortable with short sleeves again and get back into fashion.
I want the last character refs of them to be happy, and not that spectre of stress and dread and emptiness the post apathy/post oath refs are.
This does mean drawing a third reference for all three though maybe I'll put it off a little bit to write the actual lore of the au first ksjfnas.
But Heart for sure will need a future character reference I can't have you guys drawing his hospital wear for fluff art XD

Holding out for Victor the Black Powder Merchant and J’mon Sa Ord to be in TLOVM s2
Are they on widely different ends of the Matt Mercer NPC spectrum? Yes but they have some of the greatest contributions to the Chroma Conclave arc. One is a mighty ruler of a major city on another continent who also doubles as a brass fucking dragon and the other is completely unhinged

“When Lorde said: “I am my mothers child, I’ll love you till my breathing stops. I’ll love you, till you call the cops on me.” And Conan Gray said: “But I am my parents child, I’m so good at telling lies that came from my mothers side, god I have my fathers eyes but my sisters when I cry” and Taylor Swift said: “I love you for giving me your eyes” and Pheobe Bridgers said: “One of your eyes is always half-shut somethin happened when you were a kid, I didn't know you then and I'll never understand why it feels like I did, “How Soon Is Now" in an eighties sedan you slept inside of it because your dad lived in a campground in the back of a van.” and Eliza Hamilton said: “ And if this child shares a fraction of your smile or a fragment of your mind, look out world, that would be enough.”

Sometimes I love a character so much that all I want is to absorb that character into my being and make them be a part of me and maybe that's creepy but it's true.

We always talk about Alexander being so childish but why does no one talk about when Alexander is upset in “the would be enough” he very dramatically falls onto the chair like he’s dying just because he’s upset about being home and not being allowed to go fight with his friends.

Tony Awards 2022
I started crying when, during the Opening Number, Ariana DeBose and the ensemble sang a section of Bring It On whilst a clip of Adrienne Warren winning her Tony played.
I was a goner when the song then transitioned into Ariana singing from West Side Story.
Here are two performers who made their broadway debuts in the same show, Bring It On, over ten years ago. One is now a Tony winner and the other is an Academy Award winner, both are gathering up film and tv credits, their careers are on the up and up. What a difference the years make and it felt like the Tonys were highlighting that through their choice of music in that moment.
To reference another LMM musical, "look at where you are, look at where you started"
