watching 23.5 and i really appreciate Aylin going to ask Ongsa for a pad (and then also talking to her while holding it and opening it)... like, that's such a normal every day event but i literally just realized how it's pretty much never shown on screen??? (just like most menstruation-related stuff tbh)

aghhh i’ve been thinking about the httyd books again and how Absolutely Insane they are…. i ADORE watching people react to them because there’s this one point in the series where everything just feels different. and they don’t give you time to process what on earth happened before launching you head first full speed into one of the best pieces of literature i think i’ve ever read
#i think the point in the series where something ‘changes’ is when we first meet excellinor#as soon as her presence is felt theres just something looming over the rest of the events#that feeling is more prominent when we meet furious too#for the rest of the book theres just something There. something isnt quite right bc what the fuck did we just read#and then all the books following that are DIFFERENT and book 9 (i cant remember if this is there for the other books)#has a warning at the beginning??? like. hey. shit has changed.#and btw these books do an Amazing job at describing fear#the scene with hiccup in the tree trying to escape the witch is chilling#the audiobooks only enhance it#httyd books#how to train your dragon#how to break a dragon's heart#also im making a post ab this later but this was all inspired bc i read the little short side books#and i was really startled when i finished how to train your viking - a mostly light hearted book#and then went into the day of the dreader and it casually informed us that everyone on berk was slowly starving to death WHAT???#its been so long since ive experienced that kind of whiplash from these books it had me a little :’)

Rereading the series, I guess now I’m taking more time to pay attention to what we’re being told and my gosh this man is violent. He literally exudes violence.

If you have not read A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik (book one of the Scholomance series) yet I am begging you to do it because I do not have enough people to talk about it with and I love this series so much
I'm going to be honest I will not hear any Scholomance series slander they are my children and they are perfect

#middleman's love#bed friend#net siraphop#james supamongkon#netjames#they look so good here#i mean they always do... but still#went on x (formerly known as twitter) for updates from the premiere event#only to find out that the director was extremely rude to nj (in front of a huge audience to boot)#the audacity of him to shade nj for the shortcomings of bf#when nj are the reason so many enjoyed bf#despite the questionable editing choices#i really enjoyed bf but it had the potential to be so much better#personally i think that the source novel is quite good and nj did the best with what they were given#but the director/production team made questionable changes to the source material#(unfortunately i can't think of any off the top of my head but i remember seeing posts on the differences between the series and the book)#sorry for the rant but the director's behavior was just ridiculously rude and unprofessional to say the least#not to mention the non-apology apology🙄

Random Violet and Fiona (Viona) thoughts:
Late nights together are always a thing. Sometimes, Fiona helps Violet on her latest invention, learning many things about tools and mechanics she never knew before. Sometimes, Violet is listening intensely to Fiona reading mycology passages out loud, asking question whenever they pop in her mind.
When it gets very late at night, about one or two in the morning, one or the other will fall asleep on the sofa. If Fiona falls asleep, Violet carefully takes off Fiona's glasses and sets them on the coffee table, then covers the older girl up with a blanket. If Violet falls asleep, Fiona carefully removes Violet's hair ribbon, lays it carefully onto the coffee table, and then gets a blanket to put over the younger girl.
In the morning, it's the one who falls asleep on the sofa that wakes up first. When Fiona wakes up, she makes a nice simple breakfast that will have mushrooms in it for Violet. When Violet wakes up first, she prepares a strong cup of coffee with lost of hazelnut creamer for Fiona.
