This is from an au created by @bonkdd, but i did rob and andrew's designs bc i never saw his designs for them. i also added a lot of lore and plot stuff because i really liked the concept. in simple terms the tallies are robots that were abandoned by Marvin after he passed away so now they're falling apart n stuff without him to care for them (that's why rob hides his face). Anyways, huge thanks to Bonk for the original idea! They're a great artist, you should go check them out!

Did an embossing peice. It's the Mojo Chessmaster! I tried by best to make it as detailed as possible, and I think I did pretty alright. The neck was probably the worst part to do. Below are close-ups

the head of the guitar was a pain in the ass.

This part was also pretty tricky but it came out okay. the dials at the bottom are raised as much as I could get them to go, so I'm not worried about them. My issue here was the pickups.

I also added Flansburgh's little signature guy but i drew his hair because why not? Anyways this piece took me a good hour or so to finish, I think it'll fetch a good grade (it was for my metal design class).

I'll add a sketch I just did as a bonus:

it's from a tally hall fanfic/au i made back in may after my grandpa passed away. It was a great stress-reliever and I still really like how it turned out. It's about cryptids and monsters and shit. I'll post a summary on a different post because this one was mostly for the drawings. I might post a few installments of it on my ao3. It could be a weekly thing since i usually have time on fridays to write.

I put literal hours of research on cryptids and of the area (ann harbor, MI) while writing this fic. It was fun though, and it helped me a lot. Feel free to ask me anything about the plot or world-building !

Just realizing that Tumblr is a great place to pose this question / rant a little.

Has anyone read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe?

I read this book my senior year of college as part of a YA literature class. I remember liking it until the end, and then I got very mad at the book.

When Ari's parents basically sit him down and tell him he's gay and in love with his best friend ... Man, that shit pissed me off so much.

At the time, I wasn't even out to myself really so I think my anger subconsciously came from not liking the idea that his parents outed him to himself (lol is that a thing) before he might have been ready. And also, it didn't work for me at all narratively because it didn't feel like a revelation Ari got to have on his own. His parents basically did his self discovery for him. I wrote a whole ass paper about this and I remember my professors feedback was something like, this is great but you are also walking a very subtle line of complex topics too (the paper was also about POVs and audience expectations or something). Still got an A tho.

Anyway, I haven't read the book since. I am also an out queer person (at least to my friends and myself anyway lol) so I'm not sure if I would have a different reading of the end to that book now.

I'm wondering if anyone else had that reaction to that book? I know there's a movie out too, and I think it got pretty positive reviews. I tried talking about this with one of my critic friends but they did not have that issue (in fact they seemed to have the complete opposite reaction) with the book and loved the movie.

Just curious if anyone else felt that way. Because I haven't found anyone else talking about that scene in the book online anywhere.

Some post 06 sonic, except hes older, like at least 25. Probably older tho, idk exactly yet

1st picture- is anywhere from a few months to a year after 06

2nd- is a concept of him older (at least 25) He has longer quills, darker blue, taller, a lil fluffier, scars lighter, and has chronic pain so he usually has some kind of mobility aid, at least a cane if not one or two crutches (he can walk without them but it just really hurts without and isnt a great idea) also the chronic pain isnt specifically from anything from 06, it's more from years of hero-ing and not really taking care of himself, that shit adds up after awhile. Not saying that a big ass hole getting blasted through his abdomen didnt contribute, it just made it happen sooner if anything.
