Don't think Oliver's new podcast interview means BuckTommy are about to break up - I think he really has no idea which way the story is going to yet, so he threw out several options (implied breakup, they stay together, a paragraph that could honestly go either way - maybe they take a break and get back together later) that have been bandied around. Tbh it read as more of Oliver's "I will say a lot of words that don't actually mean a whole lot" than anything else to me.

Episode 3 of Dead Boy Detectives is such a cool take on the haunted house / ghost loop trope. it's creepy, disturbing, funny, and entertaining. the tension between all the characters is really paying off here, even just after three episodes in.

it's like really hard when you can feel the story getting away from what you thought it was going to be. and deciding on fighting your way back to the original vision or to follow where it's taking you is very difficult.
im writing ... please motivate me.
it's hard but im trying to push through it instead of doing the usual thing i do where i hop on over to youtube and watch people watch tv shows lmfao.

I've always loved the talk Bea had with Alex in the book on what was required to love Henry and I was wondering if you had any headcanons/thoughts/opinions on what a talk between June and Henry about Alex would look like?
Okay so you sent me this MONTHS ago, and I instantly started writing, then got too in my head about it and now I've just decided to say fuck it.
So, thank you thank you thank you for this most excellent ask and here is your answer with my many apologies for how long it has taken me 💖💖
Henry has never seen Alex sleep so peacefully. He’s got his head resting on Henry’s thigh, limbs stretched long across the sofa. There are open champagne bottles on the table and the news is still playing on the television, but it’s long since been muted. There’s a steady succession of old white men and blonde women with plastic smiles in brightly coloured suits talking, interspersed every so often with clips of Alex’s speech. Henry is there next to him, watching him carefully but Alex doesn’t need it. He shines so brightly – impassioned, bold and beautiful.
The ticker tape scrolls across the bottom of the screen: ‘WATERLOO LEAK LATEST: FSOTUS DELIVERS SPEECH. CONFIRMS RELATIONSHIP WITH HRH PRINCE HENRY.’
The room is quiet now. Ellen and Oscar have both disappeared off for meetings or calls with their staff, Nora had finally agreed to go home, take a nap and shower once Alex fell asleep. Henry’s not sure when Leo slunk off to leave them in peace. It’s just him and June, sitting in a companionable silence. The only noise is the occasional rustle of the crisp packet she’s eating from. Henry watches the screen and the shape of Alex’s mouth and there might be no sound, but he can hear the echo of every word.
‘It really was a beautiful speech,’ he says, glancing towards her. She’s in a pair of leggings and a faded UT Austin sweatshirt, hair piled into a bun and her eyes rimmed with dark circles. She's barely slept, still worrying about Alex. There’s a mug of steaming tea in front of her, and one clasped in Henry’s hands.
She shrugs. ‘I was just trying to think about, you know, what the two of you mean to people and what he means too.’
Henry nods. ‘You did an incredible job. Truly. It meant a lot to him. He can’t stop singing your praises.’
‘Makes a change,’ she says, but even as she does it falls limp. They both know that Alex would fight anyone who ever says a bad word about June with his bare hands. Henry gives her a tired smile.
‘I feel bad,’ she says. ‘Because he’s just in fixing mode. He’s not stopped in days and I’m just so… angry. Every time I think about what they did to you two, it makes me feel so angry and yet his focus is mom and the election and I can’t understand why he doesn’t want to burn it all to the ground and say enough.’
Henry blinks and says nothing.
‘He’s so selfless. Like, don’t get me wrong, he loves the limelight but he’s always wanted more for people,’ she says quietly. ‘That’s always been his thing. Even when he was being a pain in the ass, he was always so desperate to make everyone else’s lives better. He used to get mom to make extra sandwiches so that he could give them to other kids during lunch when he was a kid. When he was ten, he spent his Saturdays doing a car wash and badgering everyone who passed for money because this kid in his class's dad was sick and they were gonna lose their house. He’s just always had that drive.’
‘Fire under his arse for no good reason?’
June glances at him from the side and bursts out in a laugh, before her eyes quickly dart down to Alex’s sleeping form. He shifts and she pauses, eyes wide for a second before he settles back to sleep again. ‘That sounds so wrong coming from you.’ She licks her lips. ‘But yeah.’
‘He has this habit of just, like, throwing himself into things to distract himself. You’ve got to watch out for it because he’s so smart and so driven that you don’t even notice it at first – he just has this single-minded focus but he forgets about himself in it all. He always has, but after Mom and Dad split up it just… spiralled. I knew it was coming for a long time before he did, but it blindsided him and I don’t know if he ever really processed any of it. He just distracted himself with other things. Like, it was constant school and debate and student government and lacrosse and parties and girls. Then he moved in here and it just never stopped.’
Henry nods. It’s not like this is news to him, not really. Henry knows that Alex himself is aware he does this – he’s listened to him cursing himself out for missing dinner with June, and detail how he jettisoned himself into every available extra-curricular activity he could to make sure he’d barely be at home when things were bad, or worse, when it was quiet. How he kept himself busy with anything he could so that he wouldn’t have to think about anything else – his parents, the media, the fuzzy shape of a boy’s body in his dreams. How he moved into the White House and sacrificed his college experience to save money, and how June had followed to keep an eye on him.
‘Alex is the smartest person I have ever met, and he has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known.’
That, Henry knows. He still doesnt understand how he got lucky enough to be on the receiving end of all the love someone like Alex has to offer. It’s just like him – larger than life and entirely endless.
‘He always says that I’m too ready to take a bullet for him and maybe I am, but Alex? He will walk through fire for the things he wants and the people he loves and burn himself in the process, Henry. You have to understand that about him, and I know that it’s fucking annoying when he doesn’t turn up for dinner and doesn’t answer your calls, I do. But Alex doesn’t ever stop. He loves being in the thick of it, that’s where he’s happiest. You have to love the chaos of him just as much.’
A smile flickers onto Henry’s face. It’s not, he thinks, untrue. Alex is a whirlwind – an impossible, frenetic ball of energy and contradictions, at once both precise and everywhere; intelligent to the extreme and somehow the most oblivious person Henry’s ever known. He’s not sure that she’s entirely right that Alex doesn’t ever stop though. Alex is driven, yes, but there’s something softer and slower about him now. More targeted. Henry thinks of a long phone call, Alex rambling and Henry simply responding that it sounded like he’d done his best. He thinks of a dark hotel room, murmured words telling Alex over and over again that he’s good. He thinks of Alex turning up dripping wet in his bedroom and telling him that they could figure it out. He thinks of a still night in London and how Alex had arrived, armed and ready for battle like a knight in shining armour.
Henry glances down at Alex, eyelashes fluttering and mouth slightly slack. ‘I have spent my entire life having everything single movement planned out for me,’ he says quietly. ‘I think that it’s time for something to disrupt that.’ He meets June’s eyes. ‘I think I need an injection of chaos.’
June smiles in response. ‘Well, you’re in the right place then. Never a dull moment around here.’
Henry nods. The silence settles again. Henry has always appreciated that about June – she never forces a conversation. She’s happy to carry the weight when she needs to, but happy to sit in the quiet too. ‘He’s so... he’s fearless. He’s so brave.’ He looks up at the television screen, still playing snapshots of Alex’s speech. He looks so strong and yet Henry can still trace tired circles around his eyes and hear the slight echo of nerves in his voice that fade as he speaks. Henry can’t hear a word he’s saying and yet he’d follow Alex into battle without a second glance. He’s that assured, that impressive. ‘I would never have managed this without him.’
She tilts her head. ‘You’re doing it again,’ she says, a wry smile on her face.
‘What?’
‘Underestimating yourself.’ She turns to him, that same quick, clever smile on her lips. She glances down, watches Alex’s sleeping face. ‘You’re good for each other.’
‘I love him,’ Henry says simply. ‘All of him.’
June gives him a slow, easy smile. ‘Yeah, I know.’ She says it so simply, not demeaning or patronising. As though Henry has just told her it’s Friday, or that it’s pizza for dinner. Confirmation of a simple fact. ‘Just carry on doing that and you’ll be fine.’
Henry doesn’t plan to ever stop.

There's a lot of discourse in the 9-1-1 fandom about representation at the moment in the wake of the whole bucktommy/buddie debacle. But there's one really important example of representation that people don't give the current Buddie relationship enough credit for.
Two men in an emotionally supportive yet platonic friendship.
Western society teaches men that the only emotional support they should get is from their mothers, and then from their romantic partners. That is toxic masculinity at its most caustic.
Seeing Buck and Eddie shedding that, and supporting each other so completely without the pretense of a romantic relationship is So. Fucking. Important.
The fact so many people look at Buddie and say 'there's no way two men could be like this and be platonic' is why it's so important to me that they are.
Their relationship isn't lesser because it's 'just' friendship. There is no 'just' about it. If anything, the fact that they are friends, not lovers, makes their relationship an even more important thing to have represented on screen.

There's also that episode (where he gets hate crimed!) that starts with buck and Josh playing cards with chim and maddie where they commiserate over how difficult online dating is 😭😭😭😭. yeah he's def going to be seething
The 118 reacts to bi Buck this, the Buckley parents react to Tommy that. How about Josh reacts to Buck and Tommy. One of the hottest men he has ever seen gets out of the helicopter that delivered the disappeared groom. But before he can even think “man I hope he’s gay”, Maddie’s little brother runs up to the guy and they have the most cinematic kiss he has ever witnessed, with the helicopter in the background and cheering all around them (it’s for Chimney but it’s there). Josh has been going on failing dates with horrible people for at least a decade and reformed manwhore (his ex coworker Abby’s ex toy boy!) Buck Buckley bags fucking Clark Gable 0.2 seconds after coming out. He’s gonna be seething.
