ooo for the console ask-Nintendo DS!
This was my main console throughout childhood, congrats on picking the best one!! Animal Crossing: Wild World was the love of my life. I still have my old save file! I opened it up a while back after playing a lot of New Horizons, and it was insane to see how much the graphics have changed.
Also, I have tons of memories of marching band trips, sitting on the bus and a bunch of us fucking around in PictoChat.

5. What ship(s) captured your heart?
Aloy/Talanah absolutely dominated my output this year, which is entirely unsurprising. Avatrice looped back around for Warrior Nun season two, though, and Wenclair was an eleventh-hour addition! As far as ships I discovered this year but haven't written for (yet), Jesse Faden/Emily Pope grabbed me by the throat while I was playing Control.
12. What were you go-to writing songs?
The Stray OST is an absolutely phenomenal writing soundtrack. I also made regular use of this particular ATLA lofi artist.

7. Post a snippet from a wip.
The panic started to build in her stomach as the words echoed in her head. The room felt too small---like the walls were closing in around her.
She didn't even hear the door open behind her when Constance walked in.
The sound of her name being said snapped her out of her spiraling thoughts. Constance was pale, eyes wide when she turned to face her. It was clear her friend had heard every word.
"I warned you," she said, voice trembling with with anger. "I warned you over and over again, but you never listened."
"I'm sorry," Constance said in a hushed tone. "I'm sorry, I didn't---"
"Of course you didn't," she said as she shoved her wand in her pocket, wrapping her robe around herself. "You don't understand. You can't."
She marched to the door, hand gripping the handle.
"Where are you going?" Constance asked from behind her, a note of panic in her voice.
Her voice fired back in a growl. "Away from you."
(Safety Ch 7 looks fun, doesn't it :D )
12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
Yes! I need to outline or I DIE. Unless it's a shorter request, then I fly off the cuff. Otherwise, I have pretty scarce outlines, just overing plot points and any specific lines I've thought of for scenes. I stray very little from them.
19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick soley to canon characters?
I've begun enjoying creating OCs more and more! I used to just stick to canon, because I felt my OCs were pretty one dimensional, but I feel I've gotten better over the years, and now it's a lot of fun!
20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?
I’ve been so behind on reading fic recently, but I get most of my recs on tumblr! Occasionally I’ll peruse the jily tag on ao3, which is how I found @nought-shall-go-ill’s fics which felt like discovering a true diamond in the rough! Once work calms down a little, I hope to get back into reading, including my very long tbr list hahaha I’m always looking for fic recs if anyone has any underground gems they love and want to share!
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?
Gosh, great question! I love meet uglies or annoyances to lovers. One of my favorite tropes I’ve written before was memory loss since there’s so much to play around with there and expectations to subvert! Writing from the pov of a character who doesn’t know what they don’t know is fascinating to me…
29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)? Did you enjoy it?
Yes!! I’ve done a few (shirtless jp may of 2021, Jily challenge a few times, fem!jily February) but @efkgirldetective’s summer of jily is my absolutely favorite and really pushed me out of my comfort zone last year when I had time to participate! Emma comes up with fabulous prompts and is such a talent, herself—here’s hoping the stars align for next year’s summer of jily because that first year sure was magical <3
