It's been so long since I've read anything kingkiller chronicles related but the narrow road between desires was so unexpectedly emotional and sweet

Any news on your interview thingy? I really think you should go, maybe you could get someone to drop you off right there so you dont need to walk. You can also let them know you have long covid so they know youre potentially tired during the interview but still really excited about the opportunity. Alternatively, if you reach out to them and explain the situation maybe you can have it rescheduled?
Yeah I'm 99% sure I'm gonna go (unless I feel extra bad that day), my mom said she'd drive me as close to the library as she could <3
Do you think I should send them an email before I get there and tell them or is it fine if I just tell them when I get there because that's what I was planning on doing 🤔

here’s a compilation of why rick berman of star trek fame could have ruined the franchise with his bigotry, thanks to @/thisismewhatevs on twitter:
- rick berman is usually cited by writers as the main reason gay characters were not allowed on screen in TNG/VOY/DS9/ENT even though gene roddenberry specifically wanted gay representation in the 1980s
- notably, he is responsible for demanding female actors be "sexed up" in various ways including jeri ryan's catsuit and padding terry farell's breasts
- when terry farell asked for a reduced contract similar to those of her male costars, she was fired, leading to the sudden death of jadzia dax
- with seven of nine's catsuit, not only was it berman's idea to make her "born sexy yesterday" her original costume pinched her neck so much she kept passing out. rather than change it, berman brought in nurses to administer oxygen between takes
- berman would continually comment on the appearance of female actors to the point that marina sirtis developed an eating disorder. sirtis also mentions how tight her corset and how large her breast padding was under her "uniform"
- berman was left in charge of trek because he was in the right place when roddenberry got sick. He had no experience with scifi previously and didn't really believe in roddenberry's vision of the future:
- In addition to being a dick to denise crosby after pushing her out, he's also the reason for wil wheaton was kicked out for similar contact negotiation as terry farrell
- harry kim was never promoted from ensign since berman hated his actor, garrett wang, according to him
- enterprise was a step backwards in a lot of ways because berman had far more creative control (seasons 1-3) and took a much more hands on writing role. here's t'pol actor jolene blalock discussing his sexualization of her
- as DS9 went on, garak and bashir spent less time together and garak was given zyial as an incredibly gross love interest because andy robinson's portrayal as queer coded made berman uncomfortable
- despite the "equality" promoted on the show, berman hired very few female writers, with less than 30% of episodes having even one female writer during his time
- “Rick Berman is not the only asshole to have worked on Star Trek and he is not the reason for every bad choice from TNG-ENT. However HE WAS the executive producers and show runner in charge of production so much of the sins of that time lie at his feet. When people get confused about how some people seem to "misunderstand" the point of Star Trek and don't know how they can watch/enjoy the "progressive" nature of the show and be such vile sexists and racists, this is how. They let a sexist asshole run the show for three decades. On screen representation is important. It's amazing for people to see themselves in such a hopeful future, but the behind the scenes matters just as much if not more than who is in front of the camera. this is not to say that TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT are bad shows, or that they shouldn’t be watched, or anything else; but that understanding why these awful choices were made behind the scenes in depicting a “progressive” future. rick berman didn’t agree with this future because he didn’t want others who weren’t white, cis, straight men like him to benefit in the ways he did.

I had such a huge crush on him when I first started watching star trek in middle school, god. It was literally women who thought Leonard Nimoy was hot who made Star Trek the iconic franchise it is today. Also in Invasion of the Body Snatchers he shoved Jeff Goldblum against a wall. And. Uhm. Yeah.

He adopted fans as his honorary grandchildren on twitter!! He used his influence to make sure George Takei and Nichelle Nichols were included in TAS! He did a photoshoot dedicated to showcasing and celebrating fat women! He paid to speak to a therapist in Yiddish so he could stay in practice! He wrote songs for spock and another one about bilbo baggins! He also wrote poetry. What more could you want from a man. Also have you seen all his looks as spock? If that isn't hot enough idk what is.

I'm still in the very early stages of everything, somewhere in stage 1 of the roadmap below, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been fiddling around with the plant mechanics quite a bit! The most difficult part of everything is 100% always the NPCs, less so the questlines than giving them schedules and little routines. I'll keep updating everyone who's interested with any progress I have!

could jadzia dax from star trek deep space 9 kill macbeth? she's a host and symbiont. her host is a woman, but her symbiont has no gender and has had both men and women hosts in the past. she identifies as a woman, and is also comfortable with her friend sisko referring to her as "old man" in reference to her previous host, curzon dax. her host jadzia would have had a conventional birth. but i could not find information on how the symbionts reproduce. they are strange little worms so who knows. jadzia also references to having a mom, but the mysteries of symbiont reproduction make it hard to know if the symbiont came from a mom or was created some other way. would the fact she is 2 beings made one be an unconventional birth in and of itself? this has been haunting me
Considering this has been vexing me for the past 3 days, I'd say this is a debatable character. Sorry that I don't have a concrete answer for you, but hey, at least you're not the only one being haunted by this anymore. Thank you for your submission!

DS9 rascals is so genius because Ben sisko getting turned into a kid would be so complicated for jake to navigate. If there’s a hostile force on the station like there was on the enterprise for tng rascals, I bet that the kid-ified adults would have to work with jake and nog to solve the problem, and the theme for the a plot (the siskos’ plot) and would be Benjamin having to deal with the fact that his son is growing up and more mature/ready for the world than he realizes (the b plot would probably be Kira having a similar experience to Ro in rascals, or maybe there’s something weird that happens with the Dax symbiont and baby jadzia has a personality more heavily influenced by what the symbiont was doing at the time jadzia was the age she got turned into, so doing curzon stuff??? It would be a good episode to pair bashir up to work with someone he doesn’t work with as often, like maybe bashir and quark work on odo?) sorry I just got a bunch of thoughts on this and wanted to tell you because your art is awesome!! Thanks for posting it!!! :) (I also love the voyager rascals art and all your b7 art etc.)

SW (especially older SW) is not great with women. Padmé has so so so much potential, but after Phantom Menace, mostly gets reduced to Anakin's love interest. And it's not even a good romance. And then she dies of heartbreak? Like, I think that's stated to be what killed her. It wasn't the assault from her husband who ~lost his temper~, it was the heartbreak. And her final words are like "I know there's still good in him" or some shit. Like, girl, he killed you.
Jadzia Dax
Cause of Death: Killed with an energy beam

(from here) Propoganda for Jadzia: Her death was motivated by nothing except the producer being a dick. The actress wanted to do fewer episodes--not leave the show, just be able to work on other things, an accomodation one of her male colleagues had previously been granted, but was told no. So she was murdered by the main series villain, who she didn't actually have personal beef with, just because she went to a church she didn't attend to thank gods she didn't believe in for letting her be able to get pregnant. And then all the male characters angsted over her for many episodes of the next season while her best friend and only female colleague had zero reaction to her death, and was replaced by another character for the writers to mistreat (but that's a different story).

Maxwell Jacob Friedman could (and should) die in a hole for all you care. The last text you had from him was from 3 weeks ago, which was also the only text from him. You should have expected this, he probably just wanted to brag to the entire AEW roster about how easily he got you into bed. You had been silently cursing him for a week now, not that you could share your frustrations with anyone, if your family found out they would be furious.
You hadn't been paying attention as you wandered into the house, suitcase trailing behind you, it served as a reminder of the mountain of laundry you had to do before you left in 48 hours. You left it at the bottom of the stairs as a problem for later you to deal with. You headed to the kitchen as you scrolled quickly through twitter, just to see if anything interesting was happening, you barely noticed your father standing there.
"Who's Max?" He asked gruffly making your head whip up from your phone.
"What?" You replied with an incredulous laugh. He gestured to the bouquet of red roses on the counter.
"They're for you. From Max, he wants to take you to dinner apparently"
What the hell is he sending you flowers for? To make up for ghosting you? A quick look at the card lying on the counter next to them confirmed it was him.

That was enough to ignite a new kind of rage in you. 3 whole weeks of nothing then some stupid flowers with 3 words on them?! How dare he? Hunter seemed to notice the change in your mood quickly.
"Do I need to kill someone?" He asked
"Nope, I'll do it myself thank you" You muttered before snatching the flowers and card then storming up to your room.
His number was already dialled by the time you dumped the flowers on your dressing table. With every ring you could feel the rage building up inside you. When he picked up on the fourth ring, you were ready to kill him.
"Hey-" He spoke calmly, as if he had done nothing wrong.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" You interrupted
"Woah woah, I just sent you flowers and that's the thanks I get?"
"Yeah, flowers my dad just gave to me. With a note that barely has a sentence on it. Are they supposed to make up for three weeks of radio silence?" You ranted, desperately trying to keep your voice down so no one in the house would overhear.
"So that's a 'no' to dinner then?"
"Fuck you Friedman"

Max pulled the phone away from his ear as he heard the line disconnect. A slight frown settled on his features, maybe it wasn't his brightest idea to send those flowers. He could feel someone looking at him from the other couch in the dressing room.
"What?" He asked abruptly
"Did she like the flowers?" Dax asked
"Her Dad found them" Max muttered
"So it completely backfired like we said it would?" Cash said
"Shut up"
Max stormed out of the locker room. The last thing he needed was another lecture about what a bad idea it was to keep in contact with you. Between his friends telling him that you would only cause trouble and the glares he got from people backstage that had known you for years, he knew this was different. What he felt for you had to be different. You wouldn't get out of his head, no matter how much he ignored you.
But now you were doing the ignoring and he had no idea how to apologise to you.
2 more weeks past and he still couldn’t get through to you. Every call went to voicemail, every text was left on read and it was driving him crazy. FTR had started just walking away the second he said your name. He had an idea, probably not a good idea but who would stop him?

You hated being at an arena this early, you couldn’t even do some bumps because the ring wasn’t set up yet. Your father had insisted you had came with him, he had barely let you out of his sight since those damn flowers showed up. So you found a quiet spot to go over your promo for tonight.
Barely even 15 minutes later a security guard came up to you looking mightly pissed off, with a very sheepish man following him.
“You know this guy?” The guard asked gruffly. Max was giving you his best puppy dog eyes, you glared at him for a second before answering the guard.
“Yeah I know him, thanks for not kicking his ass” You replied. He gave you a curt nod before walking off, glaring at Max as he passed.
“Are you fucking insane?” You hissed, grabbing his arm and dragging him away.
“You weren’t taking my calls, what was I supposed to do?” He answered. That made you stop in your tracks.
“I don’t know, not show up here? Do you understand what my grandpa will do if he finds out your here? Or, god forbid, my dad and uncle Shawn?” You ranted
“Princess-“
“Don’t call me that! You don’t get to call me that after you ghosted me!”

Hunter was marching through the halls of the arena, his PA was struggling to find you to pass on the message that your promo for tonight had changed. He knew you like to hide yourself away in dark corners so as he turned another corner he wasn’t surprised to see you, until he realised what you were doing. Was that that little shit Friedman??

As the tournament got more popular, more votes started coming in, which is how some winners got so few votes. Over the last two weeks, the vote counts look like:
(Day 6 was the Great Riho VS Kip Sabian Battle of 2023 and also featured Ricky Starks and Nick Jackson in the voting with just shy of 600 votes just between the four of them. Day 11 was the Roderick Strong VS Trent Beretta debate and also Danhausen, garnering well over 600 votes between the three of them)

Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek, Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1978)- It's spock!!! The eyebrow raise! The deadpan! The ears! I had such a huge crush on him when I first started watching star trek in middle school, god. His voice is so deep and lovely, and I adore his smile He was a musician, a photographer, a writer, and a director too! I just think he's neat!

It was literally women who thought Leonard Nimoy was hot who made Star Trek the iconic franchise it is today. Also in Invasion of the Body Snatchers he shoved Jeff Goldblum against a wall. And. Uhm. Yeah.
He played the original alien sexyman that launched a thousand smutty fanzines
He adopted fans as his honorary grandchildren on twitter!! He used his influence to make sure George Takei and Nichelle Nichols were included in TAS! He did a photoshoot dedicated to showcasing and celebrating fat women! He paid to speak to a therapist in Yiddish so he could stay in practice! He wrote songs for spock and another one about bilbo baggins! He also wrote poetry. What more could you want from a man. Also have you seen all his looks as spock? If that isn't hot enough idk what is.
