And that’s a wrap!

The first round of The Ultimate Submas Bracket has now ended and we have our first set of winners!

That being said though…

While this event is framed in the lens of a good old fashioned competition, at the end of the day what it’s really about is finding new AUs and coming together as a community. Which means that while these AUs might not be moving on they’re still part of the tourney! These are the underdogs! The unknown! The rare! Which means you should check these ones out specifically!

Leave a comment! Reblog their post! Show them some love because they deserve it just as much as the competitors going forward!

And for those of you who have an itchy drawing finger? Drawings for these folks are extra sweet! Draw your blorbo with someone else's! Draw the boys hanging out in the breakrooms after being knocked out! Heck, if your AU isn’t even in the running but you draw something tourney related (AND TAG ME so I can find it) I’ll reblog that as well! hmmm, kind of had a tough time with this but I think I’m going to match you with jaebeom! virgo’s and capricorn’s make passionate and caring relationships, where each person feels that they can truly express themselves. your scorpio moon makes you heightened to any emotions, moods, and vibes around you, and I think jaebeom just has the best vibes and would really put your mind at ease. I think you and jae would be able to relax and be in each others presence without feeling the need to say or do anything special, but he’d also let his goofy/aloof side show from time to time to make you laugh!

Is there a particular age group or level of ttrpg experience you're looking to contact with your survey? I started to fill it out, but as someone who is nearly 40 and been playing for over 20 years, a lot of the questions are nonsensical in their broadness. Should I focus on just ways in which I feel rpgs have impacted me for each question, or skip it entirely?

focusing on the ways ttrpgs have impacted you would be a great way to fill out the survey! if you've played ttrpgs for a long time it can be harder to attribute certain growth to ttrpgs specifically when you've had so much life experience and life stage development over that time as well. so if you can identify ways that tabletop roleplaying specifically has impacted you that would be awesome

To me, the best embodiment of modern capitalism is in the phrase "please hold, we are experiencing higher than usual call volume". I know it's a lie. You know it's a lie. But you still hear that line every time you call, regardless of the day or time, because it shifts the blame. It tries to prompt you to blame the other callers instead of asking, "Hey, why are they deliberately understaffing their call centers and making it so difficult to get help?" It takes a failing caused by a deliberate, profit-focused management choice, and turns it into a problem with the people using the system, rather than one with the system itself. And that pattern, to me, is the epitome of the modern corporate system.

#today in reliabledragon complains about call centers #I know this isn't that deep or anything #but like #this wording is a choice #and this pattern just shows up in so many places #it's infuriating #to see how effectively systems can shift the blame for their failures onto the actions of the people participating in them #anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk #my posts
