God, it's been a while since I've done digital art. If only I have a tablet, I might have an easier time drawing there instead of a tiny phone, but no use crying over spilt milk. Here's the reference sheet for Techno Branch!

Man do I love a quality drop.

I don't know how to make my drawings aesthetically pleasing like I've seen other artist do, so this is all you get lol. But anyway here's the boi!! (Ignore my handwriting, it's usually better than it is here, I just have difficty writing on a phone).

I was actually gonna make his Grey version and True Colours version, but I was an idiot and hadn't copied his lineart before I combined it with the colours. So, I might have to redo his entire lineart from scratch. Art is so fun :)

So Branch here is more dull and glow less brightly (or not at all) compared to his brethren. Probably a side effect of going Grey for so long. I doubt the Techno Trolls of today would know how to help him fully because, while they probably have a better way of helping traumatized Trolls than the Pop Trolls, they wouldn't exactly know how to bring Branch's True Colours back, as he doesn't know Techno culture and they don't know him well, and that grey Techno Trolls were a rarity in it of itself.

Back when he was Grey, at some point in time the heart on his chest was split in two due to relentless trauma. Ater regaining his True Colours did it combine again, but after being Grey for so long I doubt it'll ever be truly whole again (trauma, amirite?).

Combined with that he probably doesn't like looking at his arm lights, as it reminds him that he's different than the rest of the Pop Trolls, adding more hurt to his already painful life (yikes). So he covers it with arm warmers, and by the time he regained his happiness it became a habit to wear them.

I like to think that Branch likes being on the ground more than swimming, so he's constantly walking and climbing around. Hence, the crease marks on his fins. 'Cause I like to think that Techno Trolls are not built for long periods of standing up straight. And Branch has done the exact opposite of that. Building a bunker by himself is hard, imaging doing that with a pair of swimming flippers. My feet would cry in pain lol.

Anyway, that's all I have for now, if you have questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. With this out of the way, I can finally finish up my notes on what happens in World Tour. Hope you don't mind long paragraphs 'cause WHOO BOY lol.

Okay okay, but imagine.

In your mute Branch au, Branch can't sing right? So, he wouldn't be able to do pop music, at least as well as the other pop trolls. But you know what doesn't require singing? Classical music. (And techno, but I like classical better)

So, I'm imagining Branch, some time after world tour, playing base or some other classical string instrument. Or maybe even DJing. Idk, I just like the idea of Branch getting into genres where singing isn't as required.

(I also have this headcannon that he's a symphonic metal troll (classical/rock hybrid), and that doesn't really need lyrics either, but that's just my headcannon so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯)

Physically, Branch can still sing/talk as his vocal cords aren't damaged, but the trauma of what happened keeps him quiet.

In the movies, they always say he doesn't sing or dance, but they make no comments on him playing an instrument. So I always headcannoned he played an instrument in his free time, no one does that many amazing riffs without constant practice.

In the beginning, Branch only played a few instruments, one of Floyd's old guitars, leaf whistles, wooden flutes and ocarina. Once their world got bigger, he learned the other tribes instruments. He greatly enjoys the piano and has fun playing with the beats the Techno trolls taught him.

The Classical trolls give him a gorgeous grand piano as thanks for rescuing their curious trollings from predators.

Also, I love your headcannon! Makes me wonder how his parents met or if his brothers are hybrids too.

So I was working on this Branch raised by techno trolls au awhile ago. this is just kinda a rough sketch. not 100% sure if I should continue working on this.

Also the shows are hit or miss for me episode wise but I love Synth.

okay, we know how Branch found the feral things and started a grey troll village in your nomads au. And how Creek ended up in the village. BUT, how did the rest of the occupants come to be? Did they willing leave their kingdoms? Were they abandoned? Did they get lost and lose hope of anyone ever coming for them before they met the feral creatures and the others? I really wanna know some backstories.

Oooooo-This is a tough one.

Everyone in the village has there own story for why there their. These are a few examples I thought up of how they got there.

Pop: There are very few Pop trolls in the grey village (mostly due to their toxic positivity of always looking on the bright side for normal Pop trolls ) they basically were separated from the main tribe and didn’t find the putt putt trolls on there way out when escaping. Soon they lost all hope of finding the tribe and went to live in the wood (it went reeeeaaallly bad) a few were eaten and the rest went grey, they were kinda just wandering around for a few years till the (very few) nomads and feral (trolls?) showed up. They were taken in and found Branch there too. The grey pop trolls also were told were the village was but they didn’t go back because they were too ashamed about being grey.

Funk: There is a group of funk trolls in the village who all came in at the same time. They were researchers who were left behind by vibe city and had no hope of getting back to the always moving ship, so they went grey and were later found by a small hunting team and Branch while trying to create some traps to keep them safe (there are more funk trolls I’m just showing off random examples of how trolls got here)

Classical: There are a few classical trolls who can’t fly in the village due to wing injuries. The injuries go from difficult to stay in the air, to broken beyond repair, and looking at how there body is shaped (they have the bodies of LITERAL babies can they walk?) I don’t think it’s easy for them to get around since symphony vill is probably mostly made to fly around. It got too difficult for them and just left going grey in the process.

Techno: There once was a dead techno troll who had some troll eggs with them beached on a nearby river to the village, they took in the techno eggs (The eggs HAVE to look like fish eggs right.. RIGHT?!) the trolling when they hatched just sorta knew there mother was gone and were born grey. they grew up in the village which didn’t…really help them get better and just sorta caused them more issues.(there have been a few lost techno trolls who had damaged fins to the point of not even being able to go back)

Rock: A lot more rock trolls live in the village then the other genres, mostly cause of their more feral and aggressive personalities (they look like biters) so some just had bad experiences in there lives that it just became too much and they just ended up Leaving volcano rock city. There is a rock troll who can’t hear in the village, and due to his deafness he felt like a freak to troll kind since he couldn’t even listen to music (which is kinda a big deal) he left and turned grey wandering the woods until he was found by some feral(trolls?) who have done the same routine of taking in grey trolls a lot at that point.

Country: There aren’t to many country (I feel like it would be harder for them to turn grey since they show how sad it can get in Lonesome flats) but the some who do show up have tons of kids, a while back a couple of country trolls were deemed criminals for liking another genre of music and playing it too loud, to which they were promptly kicked out of town, who later turned grey from getting forced to leave there only home. They were found fighting predators by a hunting team. (this was way before world tour so a lot less tolerance for other music)

Subgenres: There are some subgenre groups running around, like indie trolls, steam punk trolls, some grunge too (and many more) they usually are abandoned or just turn grey from living a isolated lonely life or some other reason like family was killed or taken by huge predators or what not.

Honestly most of them stay grey or go darker in color because they live in the village. It isn’t really going out of its way to help them get their color back but is really just a home for them. Growing up there influences many of the kids born there to turn grey or go grey later in their lives.

There are many other reasons why any of the trolls would be here these are just random scenariosthat I thought up to show as examples

Trolls - Amnesia-Rock-Prince!Branch in an Arranged marriage AU - World building Bits

Okay so this is basically little head canons and worldbuilding that I've been thinking over for the AU and I need to write them down somewhere.

Char = Branch as always

Thrash was a well traveled King who had appreciation for other tribes and wanted unity and peace but he never reached out out of fear. But its the reason he so easily accepts Char as his son.

Music can naturally be a weapon, but only the Funk and Rock trolls have really explored the concept.

The "perfect Family Harmony" is one of these musical weapons, and Peppy was the one who asked John Dory to complete the feat to save themselves from the Bergens.

Said Request is the reason behind, John pushed so hard (in addition to his own trauma reaction and OCD), and had Branch on stage as a literal infant.

The First ruler of the Pop Trolls was a Queen named "Madonna"

The first ruler of the Rock Trolls was a king named "Ozzy"

The Rock national anthem is "We will Rock you"

Thrash would sing "Halleluiah" to his kids as a lullaby

There are sub-cultures of Rock trolls, ranging from Heavy Metal to Classic Rock to Indie Rock

The Pop trolls' population was depleted from a vast empire to a small village, changing the connection between the populace and the Royal family. Making the two interact together on a daily causal basis

Other Tribes, such as Rock, Classical, Techno and Funk have a little more distance between the Royal family and Populace due to their vast numbers. Country Trolls are like Pop, small numbers in small closely knit settlements

The Rock Trolls have an advance education system (this is practically fact since, Riff claimed he was getting college credit for taking over the world in TWT, implying he's a student)

Char and Barb are spice-heads

Poppy always takes a sip from Char's cup

Floyd also went back to the Troll tree after it was abandoned and ended up finding a letter from Branch that said he was leaving the tree to find his brothers because everyone is mean to him after grandma died, and has breakdown that ends up with Floyd going grey.

The Doctor that Thrash trusts with Char as a child is named, Dr. Feelgood

Pop trolls have muscles in their scalp that help with Hair control, to swing between tree branches.

Rock trolls have tougher hands, feet and skin to protect themselves from the heat of a volcanic land they live in.

Rock rulers are coronated in the ashes of the Volcano by the religious leader that they call, the Black Sabbath

Rock music shifted more over to rage after the tribes split, creating the sub-culture of Heavy Metal

Char wears eye-liner to blend in with the Rock trolls better.

Clay is constantly begging Char to let him tinker with his guitar

I've been working on a little bit of an art project for the past week and it is finally done!

I deiced to draw my interpretation of what Branch would look like if he was adopted by one of the other tribes.

First we got Funk Branch! His design was inspired by this post made by @rocksibblingsau. Also, RockSiblings, the Anon in that post was me! I just didn't want to give anything anyway.

Next we got Techno Branch, also inspired by this post. I really struggled to draw him but overall I really like it!

Next up we got Classical Branch, inspired by this post, also by Rock Siblings.

Then we have Country Branch, inspired by @crunchycoookies's art and my fanfic, 'I Wanna Find A Home.'

And last (but certainly not least) we got Rock Branch from @rocksibblingsau's fic/au I'm Gonna Make This Place Your Home.' Though this is my version of an adult Branch verses the kid version we currently have.

How would Techno Branch's relationship be with Trollex, Synth, and Laguna? How would they take him being grey and his healing process?

So I actually view Trollex as being not that much older than Branch, Synth or Laguna. I see Branch and Synth as the same age (25ish as of Trollstopia) and Trollex as like, no older than 30.

Trollex is a bit of a goofy guy, but I see him as a VERY protective person, so I think he'd worry about Branch immediately. I think he'd try to be something of a mentor to Branch. Not quite a brother figure, but at times you could see their relationship like this. He looks after Branch and has made it his responsibility to make sure Branch is comfortable.

Synth's relationship with him ends up like his Trollstopia one, but it definitely struggles at first. He sees Synth as too Poppy-adjacent and like in Branch Out Of Water, Synth's idea of a good time isn't Branch. Synth sort of fails at the friendship thing at first, but with some advice from Trollex he attempts to bond with Branch the Branch way and from there Branch sees the differences in Synth's and Poppy's approaches. Synth doesn't immediately get that Branch is GREY-grey. He's never met a land-troll of any kind, so maybe they're just Like That. Once he finds out, he wants to help Branch feel comfortable. Happy can come after.

Laguna and Branch get along VERY well. They're each others go to when they want to wallflower but be sociable at raves, and they share notes relating to what they know on troll behavior. When they have issues understanding friendship/people issues they normally bounce ideas off the other. Laguna helped Branch understand that Synth genuinely wanted to be his friend and that Synth doesn't mind if you don't 'fit the mold'. She's interested in his greyness from a scientific standpoint, which sometimes caused issues when her questions would get too close to his trauma.

This place for small story the one that I have Ideas for the every time difference and is random and some bart of it.

Country Branch is Good Dancer Even though he have 4 legs He can dance very well to all Genres

Classical Branch Does not fly that after he is tall the normal Classical Troll and Smidge and every time he fly every pup troll being surprised except King Peppy.

Branch being adopt by one of Genre or Subgenre trolls the Branch age is 6 Years old.

The Funk Troll adopt by Branch the story is he left Poppy village to find something Like supplies or medicine and bird capture him , far and far from Troll Village Lucky the one of Funk UFO saw him and saved him but is not easy to find the Pop village and more and Royal funk family The They Second Son is alive by the Name of cooper.

Ok the all for now the maybe some different some similar some between I Have different concept from the story Like maybe I will Have Different variant of the Story.

Felt like doodlin’ this out :) it’s a pre-HairZone moment from the fic

It’s not explicitly written though, but this essentially how taking the techno string went. The same as the movie but with Branch and JD sharing glances behind Barb.

I actually love how Barb turned out (just ignore the two brothers I couldn’t make them look decent for some reason)

Some Barb, JD, and Branch things for this AU

-Barb really struggles to communicate with them bc she feels like they don’t understand her since they’re Pop Trolls

-The tour was dropped on the two brothers without prior knowledge a week before Barb initiated it.

-Branch sees himself in her self isolation & that played a major factor in their friendship.

-Barb wants to say she and Branch are best friends, but hasn’t since she feels that he only says what she wants to hear.

-JD sees Barb as someone he has to take care of (like a sister), even if he doesn’t say how much he actually cares about her and says he watches over her bc of Branch.

-the three of them were in a band called the Barbarians before the tour, put together by Barb of course.

So, continuing the Techno!Branch AU from my last post

I sort of got the timeline figured out, like what happens in World Tour and Band Together (might have to watch the TV Shows for further context on stuff), but not completely? Still need to get some stuff figured out

But before I do that, I've gone ahead and made a sort of concept art for Branch in this AU. Keep in mind that this is not the complete design and it's bound to change in the future, I just need to get the ideas out there and see what I'll keep and change and stuff

Now that I'm writing this, I realized I should've made his skin darker to match the Techno Troll aesthetic, but eh, mistakes happen, I'll revision it later. But anyway, here's what I got of him so far

I made him wear arm warmers to cover his arm lights, simply because of trauma. Y'all wanna see what's beneath it?

Man do I love torturing myself with angst material :)

So Bramch was canonically in 2 boy bands in his youth, one of them being the most famous one in Pop Troll history, and both of which had to have been before Rosie's death. Idk about you, but considering how Pop Trolls are, the ultimate flex for a male troll had to be being the lead singer/leader of a boy band, which we can safely assume Branch was the leader of NSYNC's band considering the way their cameos spoke about him asking them to visit and the fact he stayed in the center of the screen. On top of that, Branch had to have been the youngest troll to ever join a boy band, seeing as he couldn't have been older than 2 when Brozone broke up.

I'm just saying the series is REALLY hyping. Branch up as the ideal Dream Boy for a pop troll to get with, and then I think to how he was literally an outcast in the first movie and can't help but laugh my ass off. Like... I bet a lot of Trolls in Pop Village that used to mske fun of him very much had expressions akin to sucking on a sour lemon when they realized Branch was Bitty B AND the presumed leader of whatever NSYNC's Troll name was.

And that's before we take the events of the movies in account and just focus on his background up until the day Rosie died! Boy had been a full on Pop Troll legend before he reached puberty and then became a hero and the best candidate for future king in later life, you can bet Poppy is gonna see this and be so damn smug her best friend/crush is such a catch and she was the only damn person to see it for so long. Like full on pointing st him and be like,

"THAT IS MY MAN! YA'LL THOUGH TI WAS CRAZY FOR TEYING BUT LOOK WHOS LAUGHING NOW!?"

Like... ever heard Skater Boi from Avril Lavigne it's gonna be a total situation like that in Pop Village when they have that concert

Classic case of "Be careful who you bully in high school"

It's not just Pop trolls, Branch has qualities that the other tribes find very attractive.

His intelligence and engineering abilities are very sought after in the Funk and Techno tribes.

Musical and composing skills are very attractive features for the Classical tribe.

The Country trolls always appreciate a hardworking, honest, and loyal troll in their community.

All those qualities together make him a highly desired troll amongst the Rock tribe.

So, yeah, Poppy might not have much competition in the Pop tribe, but she'll need to put up a fight when it comes to the others. 😉

The Nomads AU !!The Grey Trolls Explained

The village eventually gets called the Gray Village due to the ENORMOUS amount of gray trolls. The grey trolls consist of basically a bunch of different types of trolls, funk, techno, classical, rock, and very few pop trolls (they were some that got lost in the tunnels not being found by either Viva or Peppy) Usually being gray means giving up a lot of hope, depression, a great accident happening, loss, basically some big traumatic event. The grey trolls in the village range from just having their colors dulled down to look less colorful or just being gray completely! (I have said before that branch is the darkest in the village) Honestly, they look basically the same to most trolls, except they have more wilderness themed outfits you know stitched up pants, cloaks, missing buttons, outfits made from torn fabric , basically DIY outfits made from garbage, they’re also very messy looking, messed up hair, wrinkles, bodies littered in scars and bandages.

There are some classical trolls with broken wings who just walk everywhere some funk trolls that have droopy necks. Basically, everyone is sad.

A lot of people are basically just Branch. BUT one of the big differences between first movie Branch and the gray trolls is they still have a love of music. It’s just that their music has become a lot sadder. Classical trolls with sad symphonies, funk trolls beats are always low and slow, rock trolls only play music that reflects their sadness, country trolls stay the same just more depressing lyrics. the grey trolls don’t sing often but they still do. It’s not like they all have the same trauma as Branch.

BroZone Family Harmony AU

Unlike the main timeline, John and the BroZone brothers have an epiphany about being "perfect" and Family Harmony. They realize they just have to be themselves. To be brothers who love each other. Their concert is a success and they achieve the Family Harmony. Knowing how powerful it is magically they decide to bust it out if the need ever arrives. Going by this AU these are the changes:

* BroZone never breaks up so Branch grows up with his brothers and grandma.

*Because of the Family Harmony the Bergens are run off after taking a group of Trolls which includes Viva. Those Trolls managed to escape with Viva and move to the Golf Course.

*Poppy still has both of her parents but they insist on her learning how to defend herself. This includes learning to harness the Harmony magic inside of herself to fight.

*Branch and Floyd outside of their band stuff are Poppy's bodyguards.

*Spruce finds Cooper's egg and decides to raise him.

* Clay still has his certification for Finance and Tax stuff but John got a Psychology degree. Outside of band stuff Spruce runs a diner that serves alcohol after seven. Cooper helps out on weekends to earn some spending money.

* Riff runs away from Volcano Rock City because of an abusive Uncle and emotionally distant parents. Floyd adopts him and he immediately called him 'dad'. Floyd was bawling for an hour straight.

* Cuddle piles are a frequent thing in the BroZone household.

* The other Tribes save for Techno and the Bounty Hunters begin making plans to "reclaim" their missing Tribe members when Riff's abusive Uncle lies and says the members who ran away were stolen by the Pop Trolls. Darnell confesses to Trollex and Tressillo he doesn't believe Tremor's story.

* Trollex suggests sending the Bounty Hunters to scope out Pop Village under the guise of travelling first.
