Encerrando o sábado com um belo “Porto Tawny 10 Anos” trazido pelo confrade @Winemocracy. . Este é produzido pela @Churchills_Port através da tradicional “pisa à pés” em lagares. Após a vinificação o vinho é fortificado, isto é, recebe adição de aguardente vínica para interromper a fermentação. Quando pronto, é envelhecidos em grandes tonéis (e depois em barricas menores) por 10 anos (sofrendo algum grau de oxidação). . O resultado é um vinho de cor rubi-granado com aromas de frutas-passas, nozes, especiarias e um toque de madeira. Na boca é doce, com corpo alto e álcool evidente. A acidez é elevada e equilibra bem o dulçor, e tem taninos moderados e bem integrados. . Ótimo Tawny! Equilibrado e muito macio, com aromas oxidativos leves que não se sobrepõem à fruta. Adoro!!! North of San Diego, CA in Escondido are some really great wineries. Forgotten Barrel, is one of those wineries and one with a story to tell. Rodger Grove, the owner of Forgotten Barrel, purchased the historic Ferrara Winery in 2016. The Ferraras are one of the oldest grape-growing, winemaking families in San Diego County. Roger renovated the Ferrara winery and reopened it as Forgotten Barrel the year after he bought it. Not only do they make great wine but they also make a fantastic aged Tawny Port called Legacy Port. Legacy has a rich golden-brown color and that brown sugar, nutty flavor that only comes with many years in the Barrel.
