Headcanons for Taichi (Chihiro's Dad) and Takaaki (Ishimaru Dad) dating.

I hope these are good!

So… Chihiro and Taka may or may not have had some part in this. They were like unofficial wingmen for their dads, something they both took very seriously if they wanted this to work.

Sure, Taichi and Takaaki were both busy men, but agreed to go on one (1) date to start. To both of their surprise, they hit it off pretty well on that first date, and there were more to follow.

Sometimes that included bringing Chihiro and Taka to dinner and pretending not to notice the secret smiles the kids were giving each other. Their dads were more observant than they thought.

Regardless, it was…really nice. Neither of them had gone out much, not after Takaaki’s divorce and Taichi’s wife’s death, but chances were they might not need to after this relationship.

It was great to have someone to meet up with, someone who made the day that much better. They had a couple rocky points, but all-around, their relationship was stellar.

Suzuki: We talked a lot with Director Motonaga [*Tri director/writer] about whether the relationship between Taichi and Yamato should change [*In Tri]. (*see the full interview link below for further contexts on this) Also, since Koushirou was the one who was always by Taichi’s side, we had Koushirou be the one to give advice whenever something happened. Nakanishi: When you think about it now, Koushirou likes Taichi a little too much (laughs). Suzuki: He does (laughs).

Minicomics - uno

Tumblr has been MISBEHAVIN’ lately. Its fave thing is to not show my posts in the tags, but the new thing it’s done is scrambled my answered asks so they’re incomprehensible so that’s fun times!

(These asks were in reference to [this comic], and its [continuation]!)

Since the day shift has boggled my noggin I’ve been sluggish lately, however I have been amusin’ myself with some mini-comic answers to asks. Thought I might just throw ‘em all here for yous:

I think Taichi inspires the same ‘MUST PROTECT’ instinct in people the same way Chihiro does. No one believes Taichi is there of his own volition, and especially no one believes Takaaki is a police officer.

They’ll never tell. But that’s ‘cos they also have no idea. (honestly tho, I wanted it to be clear they were super close, but ambiguous enough that they audience could choose what they preferred. Perhaps a little cheeky of me but I personally fluctuate day to day between platonic DlLF/MlLF solidarity and romantic yin-yang of delinquent x lawman) If they were dating however:

The love-life of shift workers (feat. how I actually met my future stepdad for the first time)

I think Hiro does show some real promise as big bro material once he finally takes a role of responsibility after the fallout of trail 2 BUT Taka is not known for his flexibility. I think it’ll take a while for Mr. “My worth is tied to my ability to succeed as a student” to warm up to Mr. “I purposely failed high school multiple times to hide from the yakuza” He’ll get there, with a loooot of help from Mondo and Hiro.

It would be an adjustment to say the least.

If Taichi and Takaaki were aware of their kids dying in canon, it'd hit them hard. But they'd try their best to conceal their sorrows. But behind closed doors, they'd hold each other and silently cry in grief of that their kids are dead in another universe. The 'Canon' you would say.

And they'd also be aware that Taichi dies, too. Leaving Takaaki told only hold his husband tighter as he sobs silently into his husband's shoulder. Hoping that whatever happened over there, never happens to them.
