Contempo was a London record store opened in 1970 and owned by Blues And Soul Magazine’s publisher John Abbey. He created the label three years later to release American imports and British soul, and disco and had them distributed through Scepter Records and later T.K. Productions up until 1978. Magenta is known to be a super sweet color, so it’s a safe bet that a Contempo sleeve such as this would have all the sugar in the world; enough to give you diabetes.
