Though surf culture in California is well known, Floridian surf culture is less known due to the reclusive nature of the local Jewish surf gangs, or, "Surfin' Sephardim."

Sold new by John Lucas Ford in Moorabbin, Victoria this 11 month 1970 built XY Falcon Panel Van 'poverty pack' was not even optioned with a heater or demister.
After seeing regular use for over 20-years the van then sat around unloved and unused for 26-years, until Joe got his hands on it.
Having towed the van home, Joe who is a not a qualified panel beater or spray painter but is self-taught set about a full nut and bolt restoration in his backyard shed. Working tirelessly over the course of three years, Joe has returned the van to its former glory.
The Ultra White Van retains its matching numbers 200ci six-cylinder engine with three-on-the-tree column-shift manual, while the duco is complemented by tu-tone blue trim, and standard steel wheels with white wall tyres.
Joe says, “it's not perfect, but he did it.”
Having seen Joe's XY Van in-person at this year's All Ford Day NSW, I think he is a little modest about his build. I can confidently say that he has done an amazing job restoring this van and rescuing it from potentially going to the scrap heap.
