#soschmecktdeutschland Flädlesuppe Bei dem Gericht Flädlesuppe geht es weniger um die Suppe selbst, meistens eine sehr kräftige Rinderbrühe, und mehr um die Einlage: die Flädle. Dabei handelt es sich um in hauchdünne Streifen geschnittene Pfannkuchen, die wie ein Nudelersatz fungieren. Ursprung ist vermutlich ein Resteessen, aber inzwischen ist die Suppe vor allem in Schwaben ein eigenständiges Gericht. In Österreich ist das Gericht als Frittatensuppe bekannt und auch in der jüdischen Küche kommt es vor. Die Pfannkuchen müssen hauchdünn gebacken sein, so dass man fast schon durchgucken kann und goldbraun. Hier das offizielle Rezept: 200 ml Milch 100 g Mehl (Type 405) 2 Eier (Größe L) Salz Etwas Öl zum Ausbacken Die Zutaten miteinander mischen. Die Pfanne heiß werden lassen und mit Speck ausreiben oder ein wenig Schmalz darin zerfließen lassen. Dann den Teig mit einem Schöpflöffel vorsichtig in die Pfanne geben, so dass der Boden gerade bedeckt ist. Auf beiden Seiten ausbacken. Schwäbische Flädlesupp 6 Flädle 200 g Gemüsestreifen (Karotte, Petersilienwurzel, Lauch). 1 l Kalbs- oder Rinderkraftbrühe (am Besten selbst gemacht) Die Flädle ausbacken und anschließend zusammenrollen. Danach fein zu Streifen schneiden. Die Gemüsestreifen blanchieren und anschließend kalt abschrecken. Die Brühe erhitzen. Die heiße Brühe mit dem Gemüse auf Suppenteller verteilen und anschließend die Flädle mittig positionieren. Wer möchte kann noch Schnittlauchröllchen darüber streuen. “I hope you appreciate the lengths I go to for you,” Al-Haitham stated, unimpressed as he held another spoonful of soup to your mouth.

“It’s better than me having to feed you soup,” you croaked out, your laughter stuck in your throat as another coughing fit worked its way up your lungs. The warm liquid helped combat it though and you sighed when your throat feels like it was not made out of sandpaper for the first time today.

“Tch,” your boyfriend’s scoff was full of disgust at the mere thought, “there won’t be any need for you to do so, I assure you.”

“Ah yes, I forgot,” you deadpanned, “your pure dislike of soup keeps you healthy. Perhaps hospitals should start advertising spite as a remedy, it seems to work wonders for you.”

“Look at you, running your mouth,” Haitham quirked his brows at your sarcastic remark, moving to set the bowl down on your night table. “Sounds to me as if you’re all better, if you can give me all that attitude. I don’t think you need this anymore.”

If your throat wasn’t as dry as the sumeru desert, you wouldn’t have reacted to his obvious provocation but your fingers immediately wrapped around his wrist, your feverish touch urging the bowl closer to you again.

Obediently, Al-Haitham fed you the rest of the nutritious broth, making sure you didn’t rush while eating as much as you could. When the spoon clinked against the bottom of the bowl and your stomach was pleasantly warm, your eyes felt heavy with lack of proper sleep.

“You should rest,” Al-Haitham encouraged, his voice low as to not disturb you. Instead, the rich timbre seemed to lull you into the first promising rest of the week and your hand inched towards his on the mattress. “Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.”

“Can you read to me?” Your speech was slurred with exhaustion as your fingers interwove with his partially gloved ones. Slowly you sunk down the bed and your head landed on the pillow your boyfriend had fluffed up for you earlier.

“Of course, anything for you.”

Hi Mao, this is a bit of an odd ask.

My dad is German and Italian, so I grew up learning bits and bits about my German and Italian roots (I’m actually taking Italian for my foreign language). I recently learned about German children’s books like Struwwelpeter, Max and Moritz, Krampus, and not as famous Brothers Grimm stories. I only really learned about these recently because my parents stuck to bedtime stories like Strega Nona (Grandma Witch) Despite the Italian name it was made in the US. Although I was also told a lot of German mythology. But the German children’s books I brought up are mostly cautionary tales that would’ve horrified me when I was little.

This is more of a braindump rather than a proper writing thing but OH MY GOD. I'm pretty sure I still have my Struwwelpeter book somewhere at my aunt's place. I got it when I was a kid and BROOO THOSE STORIES ARE HORRIFYING💀💀💀

Struwwelpeter (the story) itself is pretty tame. Just a guy who doesn't cut his nails and doesn't brush his hair. But then the other stories in the book... Suppenkasper. Kid doesn't eat soup for a few days and dies. I forgot the name but then there's the story of the girl who played with a lighter and died. Then there's also the story of the boy who didn't stop sucking his thumb so some guy came and cut his thumbs off. AND THERE'S MORE💀 but yeah.

I barely remember anything about Max and Moritz except they were two boys messing around with everyone and causing chaos and then they got baked into a bread.

I never was taught about Krampus until I was a bit older, I think. But he was never a thing I knew about when I was a kid.

Honestly I just imagine little Kaiser hearing the stories and being like "Eh whatever" and not being affected at all (me back then... for some reason💀 only the being baked part in Max and Moritz horrified me... I think I was aware of everything being fictional)

Little Ness on the other hand? Nightmares. Every night for 3 weeks. His parents regret having bought the Struwwelpeter book.

When Isagi finds out about the stories... I think he'd just be like "That's why Kaiser is fucking insane" or something like that

No idea about the others tbh😭 Like yeah they'd think those are weird stories to read to a kid but there's not much more I can come up with😭

excellent dream abt being on some sort of volksfest/ bauernschau situation deep in bavaria. everyone's on bleachers and they hand out song lyrics so we can all sing together.

the only song before i woke up was about a girl named anna, who travels to the alps and drinks fresh mountain water for the first time. she becomes obsessed and drinks nothing else, she gets engaged and goes back to munich, where mountain water is expensive, but she still drinks nothing else, until her father is broke. the rest we didn't sing, so idk what was in there (i think it may have been a suppenkasper situation, except anna refused to drink rain water) but fortunately i read the last verse anyway. her fiancee, sad and bereft, would empty any glass of water he was served for the rest of his life, even if it was just rain water.

Nach einem Rezept aus Franks Familie koche ich eine Beinscheibe aus und gebe dann verschiedene Wurzelgemüse und ein Kräuterbouquet dazu. Graupen sind ein zu Unrecht vergessenes Nahrungsmittel, welches in letzter Zeit wiederentdeckt wird und genau so vielseitig ist wie Bulgur oder Reis. Kennt ihr Graupensuppe? Esst ihr sie gerne? Barley soup Soup season is nearing its end but this particular one is a year round favourite. Made after an old family recipe from my mother-in-law I use a beef bone for the broth, adding various root vegetables and a herb bouquet.
