“You’re the fucking worst. Remind me why I ever fell in love with you?” Lemon shook his head as he changed out the ice pack laying on Yuichi’s swollen foot.

“Maybe because you felt bad for shooting me?” Yuichi teased. He was sprawled out on the couch, leg propped up on the arm rest and turning an ugly purple. He'd just fallen out of a tree after trying to get back a ball Wataru threw too high and failed miserably, causing Lemon to immediately bridal carry Yuichi to the couch and ban him from moving.

“I should’ve aimed for your head, bastard.” Lemon pressed a kiss into his hairline.

Before Yuichi could bite back with another remark, three small knocks caught him and Lemon’s attention.

“Oto-san?” Wataru opened the door, peeking through the little crack. His voice was small and muffled from behind the momomon plush clutched to his chest. A little one Tangerine and Ladybug had gotten for him that Wataru insisted on naming Lemon, but after a bit of convincing relented to naming him Lemon II.

“Wataru? Are you alright?” Yuichi asked.

Silently, Wataru walked to his father, pausing before sitting in front of him and nuzzling his head into Yuichi’s shoulder. He adamantly pushed Lemon II into his father’s arms, who confusedly accepted it.

“I got you hurt…”

Lemon felt a pang of guilt in his heart. He remembered the time Tangerine had gotten his leg broken when they were kids. He’d insisted they sleep in the same bed as it healed so just in case something happened, Lemon would be right there to help. Wataru looked like he’d been worrying himself sick about his father.

“I hurt myself, Wataru. I should’ve known better than to go up that high, it wasn’t your fault.” Lemon smiled at how Yuichi’s voice went soft. Wataru, on the other hand, still looked unconvinced.

“I’ll tell you what.” Yuichi shifted to his side to face him, his ice pack slipping off his ankle a bit, Lemon was quick to replace it.

“You go to the fridge and get me a Calpico and you’ll be all forgiven.”

Wataru brightened up immediately, obviously happy the price to pay for his father’s forgiveness was something as simple as a soft drink from their fridge.

“Okay!” And with that, Wataru bounced out. Yuichi made eye contact with Lemon and gave a little kiss to Lemon II.

“Hey! Don’t I get any of that?” Lemon kneeled next to the couch, leaning in expectantly.

“I don’t know, you haven’t given me any Calpico as an apology.” Yuichi said smugly.

“Oh you motherfucker.”
