I am beyond offended and disgusted by the fact that Deja Taylor is blaming her son’s ADHD for the shooting at Richneck Elementary / using it as an excuse.

So much for her “taking responsibility”. 😒

A six year old should never have had access to a gun.

Period.

And victim-blaming Abby Zwerner (the teacher he tried to kill - yes, he reportedly said at the time, “I did it… I shot the b*tch dead”) because “he felt ignored” is bullsh*t.

Even Special Education teachers (of whom, Zwerner is not by any account I read) cannot prioritize one student’s needs over the needs of the other 18+ kids in the class.

His IEP (preliminary IEP? Nobody actually referred to it as an IEP but that’s what it should be if the accommodations were formalized) at the time specified that he would be accompanied by one of his parents at school. The school reportedly decided that he was making enough progress that was no longer necessary.

Obviously, it was (or some other arrangement - like phasing out or tapering - needed to be made). Because a child who is used to having an adult’s constant, full attention is going to feel ignored when he starts receiving only the same amount of adult attention as the other students (or even somewhat more!) if it’s still less than what he’s used to.

Oh. And a big F*%K YOU to the school district, Newport News Public Schools, that wants Zwerner’s lawsuit to be dismissed because it’s a “worker’s comp” situation.

I didn’t realize that we’re so desensitized to school shootings that a teacher getting shot by a student is now a worker’s comp claim. 🤬

Okay so I'm seeing a lot of articles and videos about people defending the school shooter from Tennessee who killed 6 people, including three 9 year olds. Why the fuck are you protecting a school shooter, that bitch is a mass shooter who killed three babies. Wtf is wrong with you. I don't give a fuck if that bitch is a male or female or something else, because in all that bitch shouldn't be addressed properly for the absolute horror it inflicted on a bunch of young children.

By defending that bitch, you are advocating other potential mass shooters to do the same and they'll be protected. Think before being a bunch of whiny douchebags. Acting like this isn't gonna get you respect or whatever the hell y'all want, it's gonna only put you in a deeper hole of hate and disrespect.

I am the eldest of three younger siblings, I am scared to send them to school. Congress ain't gonna do shit, they could've ended this once Columbine happened. But no, everyone is focusing on a future that isn't bound to even happen because we keep killing each other!

Fuck you all who are supporting some dead ass bitch who couldn't even solve its own life problems. If you feel similar, do not address school shooters as people, because those bitches are monsters and would never be living things.

"The chicken soup in her thermos stayed hot all day while her body grew cold.

She never had a chance to eat the baloney and cheese sandwich. I got up 10 minutes early to cut the crust off a sandwich that will never be eaten.

Should I call and cancel her dental appointment next Wednesday? Will the office automatically know?

Should I still take her brother to the appointment since I already took the day off work? Last time Carlos had one cavity and Amerie asked him what having a cavity feels like.

She will never experience having a cavity.

She will never experience having a cavity filled.

The cavities in her body now are from bullets, and they can never be filled.

What if she had asked to use the bathroom in the hall a few minutes prior to the gunman entering the room, locking the door, and slaughtering all inside?

Was she one of the first kids in the room to die or one of the last?

These are the things they don’t tell us.

Which of her friends did she see die before her?

Hannah?

Emily?

Both?

Did their blood and brains splatter across her Girl Scout uniform?

She just earned a Fire Safety patch.

What if it got ruined?

There are no patches for school shootings.

Was she practicing writing GIRAFFE the moment he walked in her classroom, barricaded the door and opened fire?

She keeps forgetting the silent “e” at the end.

We studied this past weekend, and now she doesn’t need to take the spelling test on Friday.

None of them will take the spelling test on Friday.

Because there is no one to give it.

These are the things I will never know:

I will never know at what age she would have started her period.

I will never know if she had wisdom teeth.

(Or if they would have come in crooked.)

I will never know who she spoke to last. Was it the teacher? Was it her table partner, George? She says George is always talking, even during silent reading.

Did she even scream?

She screamed the lyrics to We Don’t Talk About Bruno at 7:58 AM as she hopped out of my car in the circle drive.

She always sings the Dolores part, her sister sings Mirabel and I’m Bruno.

Did the killer ever see Encanto?

Could we have sat in the same row of seats, on the same day, munching popcorn?

What if Amerie brushed past him in the aisle? Did she politely say, “Excuse me,” to the boy who would someday blow her eye sockets apart?

Was he chomping on bubble gum as he destroyed them all?

If so, what flavor?

Cinnamon?

Wintergreen?

Was the radio on as he drove to massacre them? Or did he drive in silence?

Was the sun in his eyes as he got out of the car in the parking lot?

Did his pockets hold sunglasses or just ammunition?

These are the things I will never know.

There is laundry in the dryer that is Amerie’s.

Clothes I never need to fold again.

Clothes that are right now warmer than her body.

How will I ever be able to take them out of the dryer and where will I put them if not back in her dresser?

I can never wash clothes in that dryer again.

It will stand silent; a tomb for her pajamas and knee socks.

Her cousin’s graduation party is next month and I already signed her name in the card. Should I cross it out?

That will be the last card I ever sign her name to.

The dog will live longer than she will.

The dog will be 12 next month and she will be eternally 10.

What will the school do with her backpack?

It was brand new this year and she attached her collection of keychains like cherished trophies to its zipper.

A beaded 4 leaf clover she made on St. Patty’s Day.

A red heart from a Walk-a-Thon.

A neon ice cream cone from her friend’s birthday party.

Now there will be no more keychains to attach.

No more trophies.

Surely they can’t throw it out?

Would they throw them all out?

19 backpacks, full of stickered assignments and rainboots, all taken to the dumpster behind the school?

Is there even a dumpster big enough to contain all that life?

These are the things someone else knows:

The moment the semiautomatic rifle was put into his hands--was “Bring Me a Higher Love” playing in the gun store? “Get off my Cloud” by the Rolling Stones? Maybe it was Elton John’s “Rocket Man.”

Did the Outback Oasis salesperson hesitate as they slid him 375 rounds of ammunition?

not my problem my kids are grown and out of school

Or I don’t have kids, so I don’t have to worry about their skulls getting blown across the naptime mat

Or fingers crossed there’s a good guy with an equally powerful gun that will stop this gun if needed

Did they sense any danger or were they more focused on picking that morning’s Raisin Bran out of their teeth?

My Nana used to say, “Pay attention to what whispers, and you won’t have to when it starts screaming.”

But now I know there is a more deafening sound than children screaming.

More horrific even, than automatic rifles on a Tuesday morning.

I beg the world:

5 ask game: au where Aizawa gets shot with a quirk erasing bullet during the Overhaul arc

Ok so the main obstacle here of course is I don't want Izuku to die, like, five minutes later. Perhaps my special little guy can stop this.

1- Lets say when Chisaki grabbed Nemoto to pull a fusion, Nemoto's gun was caught up in all this too. This doesn't matter until after he's been beaten and thrown to the side, and watches Eri and Izuku struggle in the middle of the crater. Asui brings Aizawa up, and Chisaki knows that if Eraser stops them, they're all taken for good. So he shoots at Eraser- and its a hit.

2- A moment later, a swordfish pierces his shoulder, but the damage is done. Asui shouts. Izuku screams. Eri wails. Amajiki "Do i have to do everything around here myself" Tamaki "the only big three who actually takes out a third of the expendables and the top brass on his own" Suneater picks up the gun to crush it. Then he looks at the sobbing Eri, and thinks about how Mirio wanted her to smile. "I'm sorry," he whispers to no one, and fires- the first one's a miss, he's not as good a mark as Chisaki. But he is one of Snipe's students, and the second one hits.

3- Since the bullets are made from her own quirk, Eri reacts.... differently to them. It doesn't rewind her as much as it gives her a reset. her horn shrinks but doesn't vanish, and the effort catches up to her as she passes out on top of Izuku.

4- Suneater crushes the gun, then starts trying to find the cure bullets in Chisaki's jacket, but frankly his second wind cast by Mirio's distress is running out so he ends up dragged to an ambulance while the police bag evidence. In a true stroke of genius, they do not transport Chisaki with all of his weapons and bullets, so Tomura doesn't grab them when he takes the man's arms.

5- In the hospital, they don't exactly want to just take Chisaki's word for the cure bullets and jab who-knows-what into Aizawa and Mirio, so they very carefully start studying one first. Unfortunately, Ujiko hears about this and nabs the other cure bullets. (much easier than trying to nab Eri.) Tomura and AfO won't be able to use the eraser bullets in any plans (no baby-afo fight) but they will try to ransom the cure at least. Tamaki attempts to give back his hero license and withdraw from the school, but Nedzu stalls him then guilts him into staying because for reasons beyond the teen's comprehension, Eri actually really likes him and with no erasure to stop her quirk if it goes out of control, they need anything they can get to help. Aizawa continues teaching because if being in full body cast didn't stop him, losing his quirk won't either, and Mirio is like 'well hold on a minute. if he's not stopping, why should i?' and continues training at school while quirkless, even if his actual work outside of school isn't happening anymore.

#its awk there between mirio and tamaki there obvi. not bc of mirio so much but tamaki can project issues youve never dreamed of #and i mean. 'the first mayyyyyybe justifiable case of shooting a child' sure is an Issue #also eri is like 'oh thank god lemillion's friend can be trusted to stop my quirk at all costs' and tamaki is like 'jesus please do not fee #more comfortable around me because of that!!!!!!!!'#but its a good thing he stayed. not just because they cant work through All Of Those Issues if he goes but also because i mean #with all the effort needed to keep Eri at ua and not in. say. commission hands as they excert more control over the school #i dont really want to know what tamaki's options would have been if he left too #best case its like the mandatory internship where he cant give back his lisence just in case. worst case its 'hey hawks do u think this #depressed teenager could get you an in with the lov hes probably in their target demographic right'#anyway.#anon #pocket talks to people #ask game

There is already misinformation being spread about the school shooting today at Covenant school in Nashville, TN.

There is a photo of a “Samantha Hyde” being circulated, saying that the trans woman is the shooter. THIS IS FALSE.

At this time, 3:45pm central US time, there is no identification of the 28 year old female shooter.

Editing to add: yes, this is a joke, and it’s still harmful as fuck to the trans community to the insane republicans who will continue to believe it was a trans woman who killed those kids and say “it’s a media cover up to protect trans ppl”

I can’t count the amount of times Republicans have looked at me with a straight face and said: “well, if we changed the gun control laws, it wouldn’t prevent mass shootings. Criminals would just buy their guns illegally.”

And I look at them and I say. Finland. Finland changed their gun control laws. And there were no mass shootings, from 2010 (when they changed the law) until today. None. Not one.
