i need fanfiction writers to start treating trans men as "men who happen to have vaginas (sometimes)" instead of "girls who are boys."

I saw your fandom rant and god I agree so hard it makes me so angry.
I hate how gender stereotypes are now dressed in progressive trans inclusive language to pretend they're not just harmful stereotypes.
I hate how characters (especially female ones) have so little wiggle room for their gender. And if they do anything else than being ultrafeminine they get immediately headcannoned as trans.
I hate how trans art also somewhat follows that too. I don't wanna get called a terf or anything, but you can draw women as fat! As hairy! As tall!
I think transness magnifies an issue in how femininity is represented in media. I truly hate how it's only the skinny white boys who get hced as being trans women.
For the love of god, stop categorizing everything into neat tiny boxes. Stop saying that characters who dont fit them MUST be trans and their behavior/appearance couldn't ever be cis. You're just upholding our awful beauty standards.
I hate how widely loved this practice in fandoms it is. Headcannon everyone as trans, have more fun with your concept of gender presentation you all...
YES OH MY GOD ANON ILY. There's nothing more I can even add to this you just worded it so well, thank you!!!
And as a fat gnc trans boy myself, yes please start hcing the fat characters as trans too. People limit themselves to only making/hcing white skinny passing trans people and it starts to paint a specific picture of what a "presentable" version of trans people for that person looks like. Especially when they are cis. They don't think they're being transphobic cause "look at me! I'm making/hcing a character as trans!" while literally only thinking that cause the character doesn't fit their idea of what a man or woman "should" be.
There is of course character who have heavy trans-coding that people will pick up on and THAT is different. Such as Scaramouche from Genshin Impact who is heavily implied to be transmasc. But for that character, his coding doesn't come from.. liking sport.. or having short hair! it comes from ACTUAL trans experience and feelings and emotions that we can relate with and see in the media. Trans coding is not when a female character is uncomfortable in skirts, its not when a male character grows his hair out, no, it's about the feelings associated with identity and feeling out of place and wrong, breaking free from the chains of the identity imposed upon you. THAT is trans coding.
Also, if you don't mind, could I use this anon ask in my video script? I'll credit you if you want it but otherwise I can leave it anon! :D

May I request Brunos gang headcannons with a new transgender male member? It doesnt have to be romantic and id rather it not be. Please message me if you have questions. Some details id like to see: He is around the same age as Trish and no longer can live with his parents. He doesnt have much money so he binds his chest with bandages and fabric he can find. He hasn't transitioned at all and his gender isnt obvious. his hair is cut poorly due to cutting it himself. i hope this is okay!
This was hard to do. Trans identity is tricky to write as a non-Trans writer. Hopefully I did you justice!
Non rom.
Bucci gang w/ a Transgender male member HC
Bucciarati
The most understanding of the group.
He's horrified that such a young person has to live by themselves, especially if your gender identity is the reason you have no caretakers.
He makes sure to introduce you properly to the team and makes them understand your situation, so that you feel comfortable around everyone.
You're part of the family now, it doesn't matter what you look like or what you identify as.
Will ask you if it's okay for you to go undercover as female for specific missions, or it's that's too uncomfortable.
If you'd rather not it's okay, Fugo will do.
He comes back one day with a package on one arm.
Turns out it's a custom made binder, all perfectly fitted to your specific body type and size!
So that's why he was so insistent on taking your measurements, without ever explaining why... That sly man.
Still, you couldn't be more grateful. Those things were so expensive.
"As long as you feel comfortable and stay in good health, I'm satisfied, Y/N."
Abbachio
He's the last one to care.
If anything, the thing he hates about you is that offensive hairstyle, are you kidding him?
Boy, girl, mischief, he doesn't care what your gender is or what's in your pants, he just doesn't want you to disrespect his eyes with such a horrendous haircut.
Like, seriously, who hurt you?
Takes you apart and forces your ass on a chair to actually give you a proper cut/shave.
Bucciarati is here too, to give advice on what looks good and works for your face shape and hair texture.
Abbachio has a fairly feminine appearance himself and hardly ever follows gender norms, so he's not fazed by your own neutral or 'confusing' physique.
Just tell him your pronouns already, or else he'll call you 'Brat' out of doubt, that's pretty gender neutral.
Would appreciate it if you trusted him enough to confess about your dysphoria, as he is victim of it as well.
Yes, even a Cis-man can feel dysphoric from time to time. Please pull each other up.
Giorno
As expected of him, he is very respectful.
The very first time he mistook you for a girl, but immediately apologized for his mistake and never got it wrong again.
In fact, he was so kind and polite about it, it's impossible to stay mad at him.
Afterwards he asks a lot of questions to be sure to know the boundaries you set, what is okay and not okay to talk about or do.
Will help you style your hair in the prettiest way and adds a lot of flowers on top of it.
He is a very feminine boy himself and will make you feel handsome and confident about your more feminine traits, just the way you deserve to be treated.
If he can rock the long hair, pink clothes, cute flowers and ladybugs ornaments and still look handsome as hell, then you can perfectly rock whatever physical traits you have. He believes in you.
Uses Gold Experience on you when you're on your periods so that it last shorter.
Helps you bind your chest until you can get a proper binder, and makes sure to be very gentle with you.
Has stolen Testosterone for you, and will do it again.
Mista
The most oblivious to your gender at first.
He can't tell if you're a boy or a girl and asks you a bunch of dumb questions without really thinking of the behinds of it.
If you get offended he'll just tell you he's trying to understand and is so confused.
It takes time and a lot of explaining, but he eventually gets it and, even though he still has a lot of questions, he decides to shut up.
Hey, you were pretty nice and funny and your Stand powers were dope, so at the end of the day, who cares?
He may be a bit of a dummy, but Mista is kind. He teaches you to shave in case you grow facial hair in the future.
He'll tell you all those grown up advices about how 'You start off with small peachfuzzes and before you know it, you got a full grown ass beard'.
Goes full Big Brother™ on you.
In fact, he barely calls your name at all, only calls you 'Bro', 'Fratellino', 'Mini me', 'Bambino', 'Big guy', or anything of the caliber.
Makes you workout with him to get those big ass guns and broad shoulders (or just... Your desired body type).
Narancia
Oh god, you don't have to fret about a thing.
He's just like you and gets misgendered All. The. Goddamn. Time.
His appearance is effortlessly androgynous and he sounds fairly prepubescent as well, so you're in the same boat here.
He doesn't really care and would love it for you to not care as well. He's used to it anyways.
It's not like your gender identity is gonna stop him from dragging you into his shenanigans and make you bust the sickest moves he knows.
You two are out together and get cat called by some obnoxious dudes on the streets.
You have to stop him from blasting them with Aerosmith because, as much as he's used to being called a 'She',
He WON'T stand other people misgendering you.
"HEY! SHUT THE FUCK UP! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! Y/N, tell him to go suck your dick! Oh- you don't have one yet? Huh... Well uh... SUCK MY DICK, ASSHOLE! Sorry about that Y/N."
Tells you you're lucky you don't have balls because those hurt really bad sometimes.
Fugo
Is too shy to ask too specific questions about your body or sexuality, but would love to know everything about it.
Especially the more psychologic aspect of your gender identity. How it affects your mental state, how you feel, what made you realize you were trans etc.
He may seem insensitive about it, but he's really not. He's just interested and takes it with a very scholar approach.
He pretends he really doesn't care at all, but he does a lot of research and harasses Bucciarati with questions about you.
You ask him to help you bind your chest one day and he becomes a blushy mess.
He'll help you anyway though, trying to be as neutral as possible out of respect for you.
He doesn't want to get flustered and let you imagine that he sees you as 'a girl', so he plays it cool.
It's... It's just a chest right? No big deal...
He slipped up one day and almost called the wrong pronouns and when he does, he just screams. Loud.
"Let's go ask Y/N then, where is sh-hhhhhhiiiaaaaaaAAAAAAAAARRGGHHHHH!!!!!"
He doesn't know how to come back from these mistakes and he's so embarassed.
Trish
You two have so much in common, surprisingly.
You're both young teens and your parents have left you down. You could only lift each other up.
She immediately knows you're a boy and gets so confused when people misgender you.
I mean... You look a bit feminine, yes, but there were plenty of men like this. And more so than you'd ever imagine. Especially at only 15.
Also, you introduced yourself as 'Y/N', that's pretty much masculine, or at the very least, gender neutral.
"Pfft, don't listen to them, Y/N. They're so darn stupid."
Helps you voice train, e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y.
She knows a lot of vocal warm ups and exercises to not strain your vocal chords and helps you get that perfect deep voice you try to achieve.
It's just like singing in a way, right? She helps you find your vocal range to expand it and lower it to your prefered pitch.
She's so proud of you when you manage to finally use a much deeper and manly voice!
She has very short hair herself, and she'll defintely help you style yours properly and take you to her personal hairdresser (a very kind femboy who's super funny and who's gonna love you to bits)

congrats on ur first request i love you!!!! you’re doing great sweetie!!!! Sorry this took so long, it got lost in my drafts and then I fell of the map for a while ahhahaha
HCS With a Transgender S/O
David King
David is a man who was raised with toxic masculinity and 'stereotypical gender norms'. He was always told that girls should be girls and boys should be boys. But that doesn't mean he follows what he was taught. He doesn't fully understand how it feels to be trans as he's never experienced the thoughts himself but he supports you.
You can really tell he supports you. Like. REALLY. No matter what you identify as. Are you a boy? Great! He'll call you his best boy!! A dashing gentleman! Are you a girl? A darling lady! Are you neither, or something else? Well, then you're sweetheart, baby or whatever you want to be! He might accidently use the wrongs names of phrases to begin with, but he realises QUICK and he's like "oh shIT SORRY MY BAD"
Any time you experience your dysphoria, he's on hand to help with encouraging words. He's the king of pop talks. He will tell you exactly how beautiful, handsome and/or perfect you are!
David is embarrassed by nothing. He will stand with you. If you want to wear dresses, he'll wear em too! If you're struggling to put on a binder, he'll help! And then be like "woW CANT EVEN SEE EM, WHOS MY HANDSOME LAD"
If anyone misgenders you, he'll throw down. Well. He'll give them a LOOK first and then 'Oi' but if it keeps happening, he WILL throw down.
Dwight Fairfield
Very understanding, very supportive.
He asks you to list everything you feel, one by one, and he'll answer them all. One by one.
Expect plenty of kisses on your face as he breathlessly tells you how much you mean to him. He'll have to keep stopping to catch his breath because he is ATTACKING you with positivity right now.
Some people headcannon Dwight as trans himself, and I really like that! So if, theoretically, he was trans, he'd understand exactly what you're going through! But again, this won't apply to everyone's version of him.
Will never ever misgender you because the moment you tell him what your pronouns are and what you're comfortable with, he spends SO LONG just saying it in his head to make sure he gets it right. He's so anxious and the last thing he wants to do is make you feel uncomfortable or ignored. And although he's nervous, he's a man that sticks by his principles, and if someone ELSE misgenders you, Dwight will kindly remind them to use your preferred labels and pronouns.
Evan Macmillan / The Trapper
Evan was, like David, raised to think that boys were boys and girls were girls and so forth. His father was very opinionated, and Evan grew up hearing that every day of his life. So when you told him that you were trans, he didn't... Get it? He may have came off as dismissive or harsh, but that's only because that's what was drilled into him.
If you sit him down and explain, tell him how you feel and what it means to be trans, he'll listen. Because his father, while being opinionated, could never explain WHY he had thought these things were wrong. So explain. Talk to him. Remove the stigma. Tell him it's fine. And normal. It's just something that people do. And that it's okay. And honestly? You'll find that he understands quicker than you think. He accepts uou much quicker than you think.
So when you experience your bouts of body dysphoria, he may not fully understand, but he tries his best. He realises he doesn't have to understand all the ins-and-outs. He understands that you're not feeling okay, and that's all he needs to know. Expect to be pulled into his arms. Expect to be coddled.
He's kinda curt and not very gentle. So if you tell him that you don't feel right because of something like this --- such as feeling like you're not feminine or masculine enough and etc, then he'll literally just say "don't be an idiot". You can tell him all of your concerns and he'll be like, "doesn't matter, you're still mine."
Jeff Johansen
Jeff is the coolest guy you could ever date for things like this. He's so laidback and thoughtful and considerate of others. He has no issue calling you by your preferred names and pronouns, and he usually just calls you sweetheart anyway, so. Genderneutral.
When you're going through bouts of dysphoria, he likes to hold you close to his chest and kiss at your temple.
He'll calmly ask you to tell him your concerns, letting you ramble without interruption and say everything you are feeling. And he'll hold you and him in acknowledgement every now and then and when you're finally done, he'll pull you over so you can face him, still sat on his lap, and he'll softly answer everything you've started with what HE thinks. If you think you don't 'pass' as the identity you are, he's gonna tell you that he doesn't believe that passing is a thing because everyone is unique and different. How others perceive you has no bearing, because you ARE what you say and think you are. Anything negative you tell him about yourself, he'll calmly tell you his own opinions. He'll never outright say you're wrong, because he wants you to be able to change your views without being flat-out reprimanded for thinking what you think.
Expect lots of hugs and kisses.

Like, I understand the sentiment of “there doesn’t need to be a complicated reason behind a sexuality or gender headcannon” and most of mine fall into that category (or it’s fucking kin mems) but I do really love being able to create some elaborate conspiracy as to WHY a character is trans. I mean like, one of the ones I’m most proud of is from when I was watching Servamp for the first time and I really wanna talk about it so I’m making a post.
So Servamp is one of those shows that I had a bit of trouble with as everything happened real fast, it was hard to really get every character on the first watch, so I made it a point to check out the wiki to get to know the characters.
And basically I ended up with this super complicated SUPER reaching but also VERY CANON ENCHANCING headcanon that both Lily and Jeje are trans and the general basis of it was (from least substantial to most):
-in original translations way back Lily was accidentally called a girl
-in the main dub a line during a flashback had the Servamp’s creator mentioning “your brothers and sisters” when there is only one female Servamp at this time, meaning either A. There were initially intended to be more female Servamps or B. There are more we haven’t met yet. I’m betting A, and considering the numbers I’m assuming it was going to be a 4 to 3 ratio because well, it makes sense. This show is a real sausage fest and I’m trying to fix it.
-Lily and Jeje are a set, a pair, their storylines intertwine and they’re closer to each other than their other siblings, and I’m betting this goes farther back than just the Alicein household.
-Misono seems oddly concerned with keeping Lily’s clothes on, and
-Lily is waaaayyy confident in his body. Like he’s looking for any excuse to get naked and show off, and he doesn’t seem to mind how effeminate he appears, while Jeje goes so far as to wear super baggy clothes, cover his face with a bag, and rarely speak, and he has super low self esteem from what I’ve seen. Lily is Lust, Jeje is Envy, they’re the closest pair of siblings, perhaps Jeje is envious of Lily’s confidence in his own sexuality and his body, which for one reason or another doesn’t come as easily to him. It’s like they’re two polar opposites but they’re connected.
-the sin of lust is usually always portrayed as a girl, Lily has a typically feminine name an long hair. I’m a writer, when characters have weird names it’s for a fucking reason.
- Jeje’s sin is Envy, wanting what others have. I don’t think there’s a better spot to stick a headcannon than that.
- It also gives a purpose to why they voted the way they did in the flashbacks, and why other characters didn’t really understand why. I’m willing to put money down that those who voted to kill were victims of some sort of abuse by the creator, more so than the others who likely did more as they were told or had the resources to live independently and weren’t there to be abused.
- basically Lily is practically canon but if we add Jeje it gets even better
- this may or may not also have something to do with me wanting to write envy pair hurt/comfort surrounding Jeje’s insecurities and abandonment issues but that’s for another post.
- also I’ve seen trans Licht floating around and that’s good shit too I just don’t have a conspiracy for that one. I could probably piece one together but it wouldn’t be that good and would likely just do a religious comparison and dissect his angel persona as it relates to morality, gender, stereotypes, and character archetypes. (Also I’m like SOOOOO tempted to write him as some kind of angel-themed Nb gender cause I’ve seen a few floating around and like, hello???? But the audience for Servamp stuff is slim pickings cause it’s not THAT popular and just based on what sort of anime it is it gets a weird audience, and I dunno how well that kind of headcannon would be received. I might test drive with Tsubaki and a more tame label to gauge reactions before dropping any uncommon nb headcannons on ao3. They’re not quite so... up to date as we might be, a lot of them still use fandom terms from 2014. As is an anime with a cast consisting of 99% pretty boys, with 50% being vampires. Sometimes you have to just grit your teeth and bear it out of sheer love for the show.
Basically I just made an au writing this post and now I won’t be able to stop thinking about it for days. Shit.
