I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 2x1
[And then Rory says, like the whole town knows he's got a thing for you, and it's like whoa.] Yeah, but she can't deny it. At this point, they've been in you know, delicate situations together where she knows he's about to ask her out. She knows. [She's still trying with that we're just friends.] Yeah, come on, come on, Well, you know I can't blame her. You know you can't. It's a small town. You gotta you know, you don't want to you know what where you eat if you know what I mean. [It was almost like Luke had been prepping for that moment because he was ready, like I'm going to be cool, I'm gonna be supportive, and I'm about to prove to you that this is not the right guy] It was, I say, a master stroke in psychology. I mean it was just what a move. And it's the first time I realized that. I mean, it really made Luke and Lorelai legit I mean, they really legitimized that that that narrative right there with that scene. I mean it was like, if you had any doubts that this is going to be a theme throughout the the entirety of the series, here it is. Look at this scene. Then, boy, everybody's anticipating Luke's reaction to this and more to the point, how she's going to tell him, and oh man, wow, what a great scene. It was perfect...Now, I remember shooting that scene and enjoying that scene so much to do because he was in a in a rare occasion, not uptight and not irritated, and he was cool as a cucumber. And you saw a different side of Luke who was just like kind of kind of playing a role there to to get under her skin a little bit because he knew that was his only chance... It's one of the few times I've ever kind of enjoyed watching myself in a scene. I get it, I would too, because it was because it was, like, you know, I was in command, and it was just like I wasn't reactive, and I was just like kind of kind of pushing the narrative there. And and she was the one that was flummixed. And isn't she wonderful as the flummixed person. I mean just had no idea what was going on, and it was just the great reads on her face. It was just fantastic. I love that scene. -Scott

[Doppelganger] progress update (1)
Tumblr media
At the moment, I’m working on the cover art. I think I can post it here in a couple days.
Tumblr media
Part 1 of chapter 1 is half-way finished, like, lineart step is done, still need to add the screentone and typesetting. Hopefully, it can be published by the end of this month.
Full-rendered manga pages look pretty and pleasing to read, but drawing them is a pain and a half, especially if you do it all by yourself in your spare times 😂

Sometimes I am actually confused when people are complimenting my art for 'details, when in this fandom artists that depict waaaaaay more details than I do are abundant fhfdsdf So many of them picture pattern on Ludwig's sword with perfect precision, or capture every single curve on every single button in some hunter outfit or something :pensive: I feel seriously lacking in comparison and my art gives away how hard I struggle with the details actually... Let alone inability to grasp everything size-related (heights, perspective, scaling of objects vs people etc)
I just really want to ask what IS it about my art some people enjoy? Is it like, vibe? Or it is obvious from my art that it should not be physically possible for my monkey brain to capture so many details yet I keep struggling and they are drawn to the effort? xd Or it is colors?

Ever since seeing your Pirate AU I had this idea floating around in my head.
When Smg4 and his friends were still new to the crew, some other pirates attack the ship. They were able to defeat them but Smg4 didn't know how to defend himself properly and lost his eye in combat. After the damage was healed Smg3 gave him an eye patch with his Roman Numerals on it.
What do you think??
This could be neat idea, yeah!
i would make this a side universe to the au tho, because while new to the pirate life, SMG4 canonically in my AU is a REALLY SKILLED SWORD FIGHTER.
Like, at an academic level if you will.
Buuuut.... that doesnt mean that sometimes, if someone you really care about is IN GRAVE DANGER, you could lose focus in battle.
And consequences could be dire, lets just say.

What are some ships or concepts you wished more people in the Inscryption fandom would explore?
I'm honestly not a big ship guy unless it's either really compelling or really funny. But as for concepts, I really wish people would just get a little weirder with stuff. I know that's a vast generalization—Inscryption as a game is already weird as hell by merit of existing—but I want to see more headcanons/writing quirks that are like "Leshy has parts of every animal, not just cervids—so he has leg spurs like a cricket and gets pin feathers in his fur like a bird" or "Video game logic applies ever so slightly in that characters can learn to reach into the code and pull out the assets allotted to them from hammerspace" or just... whatever the hell is going on with Magnificus in general. I love it when the universe the characters are in is already So Damn Weird that anything goes/the quirks of the world itself impacts those living in it and they hardly even notice because that's just Everyday Life.
Also just generally blue and orange morality stuff. Too much "the Scrybes are evil in a way that can be easily understood" and not enough "the Scrybes aren't evil in a clear-cut way but obviously SOMETHING is wrong here in a way that is So Much Worse than I originally preconceived." Fun stuff

last year was about learning crochet and discovering all sorts of artistic and crafting hobbies are, in fact, possibilities
this year is about crochet and re-accepting that creativity doesn't have to be for profit even if this capitalist hellscape makes it feel that way

Why do you think Hamilton supported the Alien and Seduction acts as an immigrant himself?
This is a common discussion I see, and it becomes quite easy to understand when you take into account the current events, what prompted the Alien and Sedition Acts (which is what I will assume you meant instead of Seduction, since I think it would be pretty self explanatory why Hamilton would support Seduction acts), who John Adams was, and Hamilton's beliefs.
Firstly, the most prominent international event occurring at the time was the French Revolution. When the Revolutionary government replaced that of the Ancien Regime, it dissolved it's alliances with foreign nations, especially after they cut their king's head off. This resulted in a war and a dude you might have heard of named Napoleon, but we don't need to get into that to understand that Britain and France had major beef, even more so than before. As a result, a lot of the French people who did not approve of their government's actions, but still did not want to live under a monarchy, immigrated to the United States. Much like today's current debate over immigration, some people believed that the United States were not obligated to give refuge to these immigrants, that they would take American jobs, and posed a risk to American citizens. Hence, the Alien portion of the Alien and Sedition Acts.
As for the Sedition part, this was a personal gift from John Adams to himself. He was a very egotistical, sensitive man who could not take criticism of his policies from the newspapers. As stated by the National Archives, "The Sedition Act made it a crime for American citizens to "print, utter, or publish...any false, scandalous, and malicious writing" about the government."
John Adams, a Federalist, believed that in putting restrictions on citizenship and free speech, he was preventing American people from sympathizing with the French in the potential war that was brewing between America and France, since France was currently raging and ruining everything and making everything difficult for everyone.
Now, where does Hamilton come in? Hamilton was a Federalist, and while he didn't agree with Adams on almost anything, he was fiercely against any kind of violent rebellion. This is exhibited in the many times he attempted to stop a mob, the earliest one being at King's College, when he stood before a mob and lectured them, buying time for the president of the college to escape being tarred and feathered. This is repeated during the Cadaver Riots in 1788. This belief of his can be traced back to his childhood in the Caribbean, in which there was a constant fear that the overwhelming enslaved population (80% of the island's inhabitants were enslaved Africans) would revolt.
Hamilton was also a fan of Thomas Hobbes, who believed in a cynical idea of human nature, in which every individual is self-serving to their own wants and needs. Hobbes wrote in The Leviathan, "And from hence it comes to pass that, where an invader hath no more to fear than another man's single power, if one plant, sow, build, or possess, a convenient seat others may probably be expected to come prepared with forces united to dispossess and deprive him not only of the fruit of his labor but also of his life or liberty." The key differences between the philosophies of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke also resemble the distinction between Federalists and Democratic Republicans.
All this to say, Hamilton's beliefs were shared with Adams- the French immigrants were possibly dangerous, being a threat to the stable revolution that was surviving in America. Additionally, he followed the principles of Hobbes in his belief that the government was responsible for keeping the people in check, and preventing them from entering into their natural state, which made life "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short." The goal of the Alien and Sedition Acts was to prevent individuals aiming to bring a French-style rebellion to the United States, and to discourage similar sentiments from circulating in the press.
Clearly, this didn't work. The United States never went to war with France, this violation of the right to the press was not tolerated, Adams never served another term as president, and Hamilton never convinced a mob to disperse. The Alien and Sedition Acts weren't entirely anti-immigrant, as they were mainly targeted by the French, and if you're asking me personally, I believe Hamilton was able to disregard this as the law for citizenship (changing the residency requirements from 5 to 14 years) wouldn't apply to him anymore, and he could further hide the fact that he was an immigrant. He was ashamed of his origins, as the Caribbean was used at the time as, essentially, a large prison, and he didn't have the best reputation while he was there. I do think it is ironic that Adams was responsible for the Alien and Sedition Acts, and he was the one who tormented Hamilton for this birthplace. But, you know, I wasn't in that crazy ass redhead's mind.
I know this is long, but I've thought about this before, and I love getting into the reasoning behind Hamilton's politics. He was one of those cases where you can really see how his personal life influenced his political beliefs, and I think that's really interesting. Anyway, I hope this helps, and thank you for the ask <3

{ In case anyone was wondering why I didn't post anything for Valentine's Day, it's because my family both technically doesn't and technically does celebrate Valentine's Day and the main reason for that is because Valentine's Day is the day my older brother was born, so instead we mainly focus on celebrating his birthday instead, thus why I was pretty much absent here all day yesterday.
So householdwise, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day and instead celebrate my brother's birthday, but outside of the household/friendwise, we do celebrate Valentine's Day since most of my friends/other people don't know my brother. Hence I apologize to anyone that was expecting Valentine's Day asks from Mika, Koui, Dickson, or anyone one of my other muses on my various blogs.
Additionally, I also just... haven't been in the mood for a lot of stuff, writing included. Been going through some stuff nonstop all year and it's just really been draining my willpower to do basically anything. But don't worry! I'll be fine! As stated above, I apologize once more for any delays! I promise that as usual, I'll do my best to get things done for you all! }

Hi!!! I've just read your immortal Napoleon fics and I reaally like 'em so I got an idea: what if Illya was also immortal and hiding it? And then he and Napoleon would get into a situation where they'd both be very likely to die and they'd both be like: listen, I have st important to tell you.
Bonus points for Illya's immortality working a bit differently. For example it takes him longer to come back to life and it freaks Napoleon out. Btw, ty for writing all your beautiful fics!!!
WELL it took four months but I did it LOL. Sorry it took so long, anon! And sorry to all the people who have sent prompts that I haven't answered yet, it's been a Busy Summer. So, for Illya's brand of immortality I went for what happens to Henry Morgan in the show "Forever", I don't know if any of you have ever watched it, I just thought it would be fun lol. I didn't follow the prompt to the letter (I tried but I'm terrible at that sometimes ;-;), but hopefully I kept the spirit! Enjoy <3
Illya is limping.
That is probably not the first thing that his tired, overworked brain should be focusing on, when they are standing in the middle of a battlefield and they are searching fresh corpses for the stupid disks that they came there for in the first place; he should be focusing on complaining about how much he wants to sleep and about how Waverly booked them an hotel with rooms that look like they are about to fall on their heads and is he really expected to sleep another night in that filth—but, well, Illya is limping and that is a problem that they are going to have to address at a certain point, though he doubts his partner will be upfront about it on his own.
In fact, unless he’s actively dying, Illya tends to walk things off. And, to be fair, in this case it could be nothing, he might simply be a little bruised and sore—but it could also be something, and Napoleon should probably set out to find out.
He considers walking up to him and having a friendly chat about it, but—well, as mentioned, he’s tired. And Illya is stubborn, he would say that he’s fine and—it’s probably better to wait until they are all in the car together and he has Gaby as back-up. That way, they can gang-up on him in an enclosed space and Illya will have to be less unreasonable than usual.
Yeah, sound plan, good job, Solo.
“I have one,” Illya announces then. When Napoleon turns in his direction, he sees him holding up one of the disks, though he doesn’t look particularly pleased. He’s definitely craving a nap just as much as he is.
“Good—” Napoleon begins, forcing a bit of levity and meaning to say one down, three to go, but his voice dies at the sound of the two shots ringing in the silence without warning. He feels himself jolting, startled rather than actually in pain, just as he watches Illya stagger forward like he’s been pushed, eyes wide with shock.
