hey guys! i just wanted to make a small post because one of my past customers has made a post about me instead of coming to talk to me about the problem and i’d just like to address it under the read more!

the person in question complained about several things, so i’m just going to address each point, as i do take selling skins seriously!

1. “first of all, the codes were not wrapper/css/html templates, no. She gave us codes in webpages. Now, if that isn’t enough to make you turn your head”

when coding, i use webpages to keep the coding clean. if i can break up the parts of the coding, it also makes it much more easy for me to find. i don’t like codes cluttering the css – and i don’t really understand the problem with using webpages? it’s included in the jcink skinning, and it works fine, so i don’t really understand the problem.

2. “Don’t sell your skins if they’re not coded correctly.”

ok so! the reason i had to add in the rule about excessive help was because of this person. as someone who has been “using jcink for 5 years”, they really didn’t know a lot about coding or the entire process! before giving people codes, i always make sure i ask the person if they know how to input the codes – because i do member group specific coding, there’s a lot that you need to input yourself on your skin for it to work! you can see me saying exactly this here, and their response here. before this, i’d told them i’d be gone studying for a test i had the next day. i gave them my aim, and then left to spend the rest of the night studying, with the intent to get back on as soon as i could after school. i returned, not even 24 hours later, to this message. my response: 1, 2, 3, 4. and the problems with the skin WERE BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT PLUGGED IN THINGS AS I HAD TOLD THEM TO. i was blamed for their misunderstanding of the jcink ACP. they told me after this that they’d had previous bad experiences, and so i assured them i would not leave the skin with bugs. i told them i would work on the skin the next day, and we came to an understanding. i told them the next day why the skin wasn’t working: 1, 2, 3 (i guarantee you that these were never changed which is why they still have problems with the skin). they then sent me this, which was the last message we exchanged over tumblr. i put notes in the codes i gave them, thinking that they were going to go in and modify them to their liking – but instead they were left, and the notes broke the code. i had to go in and remove them all by hand, and put in each of their custom fields (which is something i feel i shouldn’t be doing, personally, as it’s specific to each skin depending on what you want the fields to be). 

i fixed the switch account they complain about in this post, which was confirmed here. and the last time i heard from them was at this time. i fixed the code which we had been talking about, but i never heard from them again – so i assumed the skin was working, as i had said MANY TIMES that i would help until the skin was to their liking. i never heard from them again.

i don’t like drama, and i definitely don’t subscribe to callout posts, but as i’m selling people a product, i want to make sure that you guys know i give a shit! i don’t appreciate being called out for something i didn’t do, when the person who’s calling me out didn’t even try to contact me to resolve the issue when i was more than happy to fix the skin.

also small note: i’ll be reopening my store again soon as i got caught up with school so new skins should be up soon!

yet another old skin that never went to good use!!! this one is a little older and from when i was first starting to get a handle on the cfs, so it’s very ~minimalistic~ it does not include custom posts in the skin, which is why it’s priced a little lower! it does come with premade general codes though, and you can add those on for an extra fifteen dollars! this skin includes:

hey guys! just wanted to say that i’m adding a new rule!

if you don’t know how jcink works or how to insert codes or fix them appropriately to your skin it will cost extra money! 

i sell these skins hoping that most anyone who buys them at least knows the basis of jcink enough to edit the codes. if you need help, i don’t mind, but it’s tedious and draining to do busy work just to help you build your site, so i’m adding an extra charge.
