Fearsome Foes - Mimic Tower
It’s a really good thing mimics don’t get building sized, that would be a nightmare! They don’t get building-sized right? With the rumors floating around lately, you’re not so sure. But that’s crazy, it’s probably just wizards.
Enter: The Mimic Tower! Meant to be the centerpiece of a one-shot or other such short adventure, if you need something shorter to throw at your players between plot beats, this is the monster for you! Included are the titular monster, along with supporting monsters, a bite-sized adventure, and magic items!

In dnd canon the only “salamanders” are those big angry monsters and I wanted my character to have a funny little salamander companion that was immune to fire— Thus:
Tumblr media
And listen— I KNOW creature stat blocks about real life animals aren’t meant to be literal in how they translate skills and abilities. Bc it’s a game. But I couldn’t help myself bc:
-> Speed is 10ft bc salamanders are Slow, unless they’re swimming
-> Beefy con bc they can survive losing limbs and tails and regrow them
-> Also why they have a regenerate bonus action to restore hit points
-> Disadvantage on opportunity attacks against them bc they’re slippery and covered in mucus
-> Their bite attack does bludgeoning instead of piercing damage bc most salamanders don’t have teeth
-> It’s their tail attack that does poison damage bc salamander’s poison glands are at the base of their tail, and salamanders will lift their tail in a defensive position when threatened
-> Some salamanders specifically produce tetrodotoxin, which is a dangerous nerve agent/paralytic (same one found in poisonous pufferfish) hence why failing the saving throw by enough can paralyze people
I imagine these guys are a bright red that fades to black on their limbs and tail, and a little bigger than most non-giant salamander species; maybe 18-24 inches long including the tail. My character’s is named Phlox.

Sometimes, when an utterly ordinary person who wished to be a powerful warrior dies in a heroic fashion, their soul sticks around. A Soul of Valor is such a soul. While weak, the soul is capable of constructing a new body for itself from sheer desire alone, as strong and as powerful as it wished to be in life.
HEAVILY based on the Exalted enemies from Hades. Really enjoyed the concept of fighting a tough guy and then having to beat a smaller guy before he turns back into the tough guy.

Hello all!
A pretty simple concept today and one I thought would be fun for a token card, a more lizard like fire salamander! Perfect for those occasions when your party is exploring lava-filled caverns and you want to make them sweat XD
There's an optional rule on this card that I thought was quite fun and something I might do more often. Sometimes having these kinds of rules can be fun or too much work depending on whether you have lots of them in the encounter or not though so consider that before using it! But regardless I think this adds a little more dynamic interest to a fight that the players would have to work around, especially if you have a map already containing lava! :)
This Token and Card are available for $3+ tier patrons!

Puragaus (Immolation Devil)
Tumblr media
Puragaus are fiery devils that act as terrifying field commanders in the armies of Hell. With their ashen, scaled bodies and dragon-like wings, they cut imposing silhouettes whirling through the skies above diabolic armies. Puragaus possess an exceptional command over hellfire and can stoke awful blazes into existence to cut off their foes from escape and restrict their enemy’s ability to move.
A puragaus’ body burns with infernal heat. Virtually every part of their body can be used as a weapon, from their iron claws to their rack of curved, cruel horns and their wings which are as sharp as razors. As their name suggests, they become engulfed in flames in the midst of battle, and can direct hellfire to protect themselves and incinerate their foes. Despite their connection to fire, prolonging the suffering of even their most hated foes has no tactical worth, so any creature mortally wounded by a puragaus’ fire is often swiftly put down with a claw swipe or wing slash.
According to legend, Asmodeus created the first legion of puragaus to guard over the Eternal Ember, the mote of perpetual, divine hellfire that burns at the heart of his palace in Hell’s deepest layer. Over time, he realised the strategic genius and brutal leadership of immolation devils (as well as their utter disregard for collateral damage) would make them natural battle commanders and they were created en masse to lead the burgeoning armies of Hell.
Though they are utterly without remorse, puragaus do sometimes encounter problems that can’t be surmounted with a show of force or gout of hellfire. When they do, they can prove surprisingly shrewd and considered negotiators, a talent that is greatly helped by the lingering threat of fiery death should negotiations go awry. Though they are less likely to bargain with mortals than other devils, a particularly esteemed mortal commander may be able to win the loyalty of a puragaus to fight in extended and bloody campaigns of battle. The caveat of course, is that the commander’s soul is sworn away to serve the puragaus on the battlefields of Hell for eternity.
Immolation devils stand just over 10 feet tall, have a wingspan close to 20 feet, and weigh 900 pounds.

Meydol Monster Manual #1: Azul Slime
Greetings, adventurer!
After introducing you all to the mystical and adventurous lands of Meydol, I figured I should also introduce you to some of the characters, locations, and creatures that inhabit this setting for both my primary comic series as well as several video game RPG ideas. And what better way to start than one of the recurring monsters that our titular heroes would encounter in their journey. Meet the Azul Slime. It is the simplest, most basic mob you could ever encounter. These single-celled organisms are usually docile, but will not hesitate to fight back against larger predators. Yes, that includes budding adventurers on their quest for EXP.
