L. Promnis. (Like I'd ask for anything else lol)
Thank you so much! (And I haven’t forgotten your request from Twitter btw, still working on it!)
{Fluffabet Prompt List}
L — Lazy Day
Ignis ducks his head into the bedroom of the little apartment he and Prompto share; as expected, his boyfriend still lies snuggled away under the covers, snoring softly.
It’s not that Ignis doesn’t like lazing around on Sunday mornings, he just… doesn’t get much chance to do so. He’s happy, at least, that Prompto can take full advantage of the excuse for rest, even if he can’t.
He brews himself another coffee and settles down at the desk in the corner, which has become his workspace away from the Citadel. That had been a sorely-won battle for Prompto — a few nights a week where Ignis would gather up his things from the Citadel and leave at a normal hour, have dinner at home, and then continue his work from the comfort of their apartment.
Ignis tells himself that Prompto knew what he was getting into when they started this relationship, but it doesn’t help the little twinge of guilt he gets whenever he sees Prompto shuffle off to bed long before his own work is done.
Soft feet pad across the carpet; he hears a barely-stifled yawn just a moment before arms slip around him, and he feels Prompto’s warmth against his shoulders over the back of his chair.
‘Come back to bed,’ Prompto whines. ‘It’s not even eight.’
Read the rest under the cut, or on AO3!
{ko-fi}
‘And yet it’s well after seven,’ Ignis counters, with a scoff.
Still, he concedes enough that he’ll twist around in his chair and stretch up toward Prompto, touching a kiss to his waiting lips.
‘If you’re not coming back to bed,’ Prompto says, ‘I’m gonna take a shower. It’s no fun lying in without you.’
Ignis knows Prompto’s words aren’t meant to manipulate him, but still — there’s that twinge. He watches, a little sadly, as Prompto heads over to the bathroom and pushes open the door, slipping in.
He’s still hard at work by the time Prompto’s dressed; when he hears the toaster go, and smells the familiar scent of chocolate toaster pastry, he’s just diving into the third of many reports he needs to read.
‘Iggyyyyyy.’
Ignis sighs. Slipping his glasses off, he rubs at the bridge of his nose and turns around, looking across the span of the apartment toward the kitchenette.
Prompto’s sitting on the island, wearing a pair of shorts, chocobo slippers, and one of Ignis’s old, discarded tees — which he modified to widen the neck, so it hangs off one shoulder.
The sight is… distracting, to say the least. Ignis clears his throat, and carefully replaces his glasses.
‘Yes, darling?’
Prompto sighs.
‘I’m bored,’ he says.
In spite of himself, Ignis smirks. He knows Prompto’s game; admittedly, the whole reason Ignis had agreed to work from home sometimes was so that they could actually spend some time together. It doesn’t really count if he’s so buried in his work that he hardly leaves his desk.
Perhaps it couldn’t hurt to take a little break.
‘What would you like to do?’ Ignis says. ‘I’m yours for the next thirty minutes.’
‘Thirty minutes, gee whiz!’ Prompto proclaims, poking his tongue out — but still, he hops down from the island and hurries over to Ignis’s workspace, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of his chair.
His plans aren’t grandiose; he simply drags Ignis over to the sofa, and once Ignis is seated he snuggles up next to him and tugs the throw over the both of them.
‘I thought Noct was kidding when he said you never took time off,’ Prompto says with a sigh.
He has his head on Ignis’s shoulder, his breath skirting warmly against Ignis’s throat. It’s entirely too easy for Ignis to relax, the tension leaching from him with each passing moment.
‘I take time off,’ he states. ‘All crown employees get mandatory recreational days, which must be spent before the year is out.’
‘Yeah,’ Prompto says, ‘but when was the last time you actually took one of those days?’
Ignis pauses to think. There was Solstice day — although come to think of it, Noct had made him book it off, for Prompto’s sake. The last one he remembers before that, was…
‘August,’ he says, triumphantly. ‘I took a weekend off at the end of August—’
‘For Noct’s birthday,’ Prompto interjects, ‘which you organised.’
Ignis blinks.
‘Oh.’
An unpleasant feeling is beginning to set in, a stark realisation along with it.
‘I haven’t been a very good partner, have I?’ he asks slowly.
He feels Prompto tense slightly beside him, and that’s all the confirmation he needs. He knows the cheery blond would quite happily wave it off for the sake of Ignis’s ego — for the sake of maintaining the peace, as he so often seems to do — but it would be unfair to expect him to do so.
‘Oh, Prompto,’ Ignis sighs, pulling away to look at his boyfriend. ‘I’m so sorry. I’ve been so swept up in work, I…’
Prompto shakes his head. He’s smiling, but he seems a little somber.
‘It’s okay,’ he says. ‘You always make it up to me.’
‘I shouldn’t have to make it up to you, love,’ Ignis says.
His mind’s whirring. He’s supposed to be making the most of these thirty minutes — less, now — to relax with Prompto, but there’s something he has to do.
Springing to his feet, he strides over to his desk and picks up his journal, leafing through it until he gets to next weekend. There are only minor tasks for him to attend to, which although he could trust to someone else, he seldom does. With a pen, he makes a note at the bottom of both days: PROMPTO.
‘Next weekend,’ he says, setting the journal aside and turning to where Prompto sits. ‘You have me all to yourself. I should be able to book a week off after the financial year ends, but for now…’
Prompto cuts him off with a nod.
‘That’s perfect, Iggy,’ he says. ‘Thank you.’
Ignis smiles. It may not magically fix everything, but it’s a start to putting things to rights.
‘Will you come over and cuddle now?’ Prompto says. ‘I’ve only got you for twenty more minutes.’
As Ignis crosses to the couch and settles in next to Prompto once more, he slips an arm around Prompto’s shoulder and hugs him close.
‘I’m sure those reports can sit for another hour or two,’ Ignis says. ‘If you don’t have other plans, of course.’
Prompto grins, turning and planting a kiss on Ignis’s cheek.
There may be a certain satisfaction to a job well done — but it’s nothing compared to the pleasure of curling up close to the one you love on a lazy Sunday morning.

“Stay here tonight. If you go now, they might catch you.”
At Bill words you snap your head to him, your whole body trembling as you grasp you wand tightly. The unfamiliar building seeps with warmth as the wind howls mercilessly outside. The room, small, yet cosy, one of the many safe houses the Order has, is illuminated by oil lamps that cast dim shadows of you and he. The air is stuffy. You take in a deep breath to calm your beating heart, yet to no avail. Slowly, your peer away from the defeated form of Bill Weasley, he sitting on a plush couch that is lightly chewed by moths and other, as you shakily turn to the window. A clear starry night lies behind your ghastly reflection.
“(Name).” Bill calls you, his voice hollow and strange.
Subconsciously, your mind racing with terrible thoughts, your hands raise and you twirl your wand in a graceful, poise motion, “Protego Totalum….” The words fall from your lips in a terrified whisper, “Salvio Hexia…”
“I think we’re safe here.” He tries to get your attention again, yet you do not budge, “(Name)…Please….” His face falls into his hands as a low, breathy sigh leaves his lips, “Come here so I could make sure you are actually alive.” He adds quietly, more to himself than you.
His words shake you to the very core and inspired with energy you drop whatever protection charm you were going to cast next and promptly walk to his side, a short stride, really, and fall by the couch as you grab him by the wrists and pull. You meet face to face with misty blue eyes, clouded by shock and hurt. A strained smile pulls on the corners of your lips, “I’m here.” You reassure him, yet you don’t sound so sure yourself, “I’m alive.” Your cold hand moves to caress his hair, “The rest are alive, too. They are, really. I would never lie to you, would I?” Your voice strains with doubt, “What matters is that we made it out, yeah? We’ll contact the rest as soon as—“ As soon as what? You aren’t certain yourself. “…Shitty wedding, ey?”
He manages you wheeze out a laugh, “Tell me about it.” Though the last drop of light-heartedness melts away into fear, “I…really thought I lost you.”
“Nonsense, you couldn’t lose me even if I died.”  You jest, your voice still a nervous whisper, “I’d haunt you for the rest of my afterlife. Nothing in this world could tear me away from you, Bill.”
He smiles faintly at the genuine, yet morbid, idea.
The events of the first cheerful night replay in waves, in striking precision. No detail is left out of your mind, and soon you feel too exhausted to move. You sit by the couch, on the dusty wooden floorboards, your back leaning onto its plush side. Bill had joined you on the floor, his body a welcoming furnace of heat as his arm is draped over your shoulder. The two of you sit in solemn silence, watching the night outside the window, deep and scary.
The wedding was attacked. The Ministry has fallen. Your friends might be dead. And worst of all, there is nothing you can do, no way to contact them and make sure they are still intact. You must wait. Sit and wait and feel utterly useless. It is still too soon to regroup, as danger might be luring just around the corner. You try to even out your breathing as you recall the chilling message, the screams, the blasts of deadly magic that made your hairs stand on end. You had nearly received a few curses; a few less murderous ones had hit you, and their remnants engrave your already bruised body and chip away at your dress. They do not hurt. Granted, you may simply be too numb to feel any pain at all. They are but a dull ache somewhere, you can’t even pin point where. All you can think about is your friends and worry sick. Each time you drift away into your own mind, Bill yanks you back as he pulls you closer to his bodice.
His lips brush against your forehead, warm and tingling against your skin, as you rest your head on his shoulder.
“Do you remember…when we were kids?” He asks you, quietly.
“It would certainly be disturbing if I didn’t.” You reply with a sad smile, “I’m hardly that old.”
“And do you…remember the Yule Ball?”
You hum, “I remember having to reject quite a few offers because I was dead set on taking Ben.” You frown softly, “He was so….frightened of everything. But I knew he wanted to go. He was really happy when I asked him. We jammed to punk rock all night…I have never seen him smiling so brightly.”
“I asked you to the dance, too.”
“You were joking.”
“No, (Name), I wasn’t.” The sudden seriousness in his tone made you pull away, much to his dismay. Your eyes meet and you gulp - intense and determinant, no sign of defeat, “I wasn’t joking when I said I wanted you to be my date. I wasn’t joking when I asked you to be my girlfriend in Egypt. I wasn’t joking about what I said back in the Burrow—“
“Stop.” You plead, eyes closed and quivering, “Just stop, please…” You shake your head, “I was…I was so scared and hurt to come back, I already lost you to someone else and when the Death Eaters showed up I—“ You inhale a sharp breath, your eyes prying open, tears picking at their corners, “I thought I was going to lose you again, this time for good.”
His hands land on your cheeks, pulling you just a tad closer, “(Name), I need to tell you something.”
“Don’t.”
“I must.”
“You can’t.”
He gives you a shaky smile, “(Name) (Lastname)” He address you, his voice soft as velvet, “my partner in crime, colleague, and best friend.” His eyes find yours and lock them, “…I love you.”
It feels like lightning going through your chest, a whole world of new senses and truths opening after so many years. He says it genuine, meaning every world, every syllable, and every possible connotation. He gazes at you expectantly, your expression of shock and helplessness – even your tears have stopped in their tracks, hot on your skin – as you regard him with silent wonder and admiration. You shut your eyes, welcoming darkness, as you lean onto his touch.
“I love you too, Bill.” You confess, “…And I’m sorry it took me so long to realise.”
He grins, “Better late than never, I suppose.” His thumbs wipe away a few stray tears, “You know… people usually tend to be happy on such occasions.”
You hit him on the shoulder, “You’re married, you git!”
“Then I won’t be.” He states, as serious as before, “I won’t be, for you.”
“No, you will be making a huge mistake—“
“The only huge mistake I made was not having the courage to tell you sooner.” He cuts you off, “And look at where that got us…” His eyes briefly roam around the silent room, “Maybe it is fate.” His attention returns to you once more, his stern expression softening as he caresses your cheek, “I always had this feeling that…You are the one for me. And that sooner or later…We’ll be together.”
“Wishful thinking.” You blur, but can’t help the small smile.
“I say it paid off.” He grins sleepily, briefly glancing at your lips, “I say it paid off, indeed.” Your breath hitches in your throat as you lean in, and so those he. The wind continues to howl. The last thing you see before you close your eyes is soft yellow light playing on his freckled skin. You meet him halfway and he kisses you softly.
For a moment, one single moment, the rest of the world melts away in overwhelming sensations. Worries fade into the night. There are only two people in the world, you and him. Just you and him.
 BONUS
The house is quiet, only the sound of sleepy mumbles and kitchen appliances by the breakfast table echo. Your footsteps are diluted by the carpet under your feet, as curiously and with a hum, you pick up todays mail, dropped just a moment prior. Sunshine streams from the outside, and grasping the velvety letters you briefly skim each one: work, taxes, work, complaint, another complaint, and… Blinking owlishly, you eye the familiar envelope, one you had gotten many years ago yourself. With your heart jumping to your throat, you tear the seal off with shaky fingers and open the letter.
You place a hand over your mouth as not to scream. The envelopes helplessly fall from your gasp and settle on the floor.
DEAR JACOB WEASLEY,
WE ARE PLEASED TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU HAVE A PLACE AT HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY. PLEASE FIND ENCLOSSED A LIST OF ALL NECESSARY BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT.
TERM BEGINS ON 1 SEPTEMBER. WE AWAIT YOUR OWL BY NO LATER THAN 31 JULY.
YOURS, SINCERELY,
MINEVRA MCGONAGALL
HEADMISTRESS
You re-read the letter one last time and scream anyway, “OH MY—MERLIN! BILL! BILL COME QUICK!” You yell frantically, looking up to find Teddy Lupin curiously poking his head out from the kitchen. Your husband, still in his sleeping robes, stumbles downstairs, frightened to death with his wand ready. Seeing you teary and grinning brightly, he promptly takes a relived sigh.
“Bloody hell, I thought someone died.”
“No, you idiot,” You shove him the letter, “Our son just got his letter!” You squeal excited, “From Hogwarts! Our baby is going top Hogwarts!”
requests:   Ahh okay I’m in love with your writing and was wondering if I could request Bill x mc with the prompt “Stay here tonight” /  can you make a story from hogwarts mystery after the one you made mc attending fleur and bill's wedding, but the attack happened and later saw mc got hurt bad from it with some side charlie moments (also as i recall in the book ginny and molly never initially like fleur) 😍😍😍😍😍😍 pleaaase i love me some good angst and i really love your writting style~ /  your last fic just KILLED me. can I please request a fluffy mc/bill fic so my boi finally gets the true love he deserves? you’re such a good writer and I really enjoy your fics! can’t wait to read more :-) /  since you are determined to break our hearts with Bill/MC angst here I am, asking you to write Bill/MC fluff, where those two get their shit together, confess their feelings, get married and live happy together ( cause I now consider canon that Bill married Fleur only because he couldn't marry MC-sorry fleur i like you but MC and Bill are soulmates and nothing will ever change my mind )

A/N: this is for the 12 days of christmas challenge brought to us by @thing-you-do-with-that-thing & @like-a-bag-of-potatoes... this also happens to be for JulesTheQuirky’s Winter Holiday Song Challenge brought to us by @julesthequirky.. hope you ladies enjoy them all.
pairing: Jensen x Reader
day 10: Christmas ball
prompt: last christmas by cascada
summery: its a surprise!!!!
12 days Masterlist
this is the story about how you were invited to a christmas ball but you just got your heart broken. but the hosts wanted you to sing a song, a christmas song but up until recently (2 weeks ago to be exact).
you had happily been dating Jensen Ackles one of the actors on the hit tv show Supernatural, but the littlest things would just bug you basically you made a list and sat down one day to discuss what the future looked like for the 2 of you.
but Jensen had the same idea, your ideas didnt match so he ended things. but it was apparent that you were heartbroken. considering you hadnt left your apartment in the last week.
by the time you received the invite for the ball you had found enough courage to face the music as it were. to come back into the world and face your fans, face your broken rhythm.
so you RSVP’d to the invite and started deciding what to wear as the ball was tomorrow, but you knew that this party was all the hottest and exclusive guests only. and every single year you were asked ever so nicely to perform but someone AKA Jensen was also always asked to perform.
you hoped this year that you would have a chance to express your true feelings. for it was 2 years ago tomorrow that you confessed your love for Jensen as a tradition. so you definitely knew what song you would sing.
you had picked a long flowy dress that brought out your natural curves and your nature about the season. but it also reminded you of Jensen, and this was okay cause for this event it worked.
tomorrow arrived quickly. the event wasnt due to start till 7pm but you had to be there an hour early to do a sound check and a couple other things.  so you got ready and my oh my did you enjoy spining around in that dress for a few moments before throwing on your heels, packing your clutch and walking out to meet your car.
upon arriving at the party, you told your driver to be on the waiting list for your text of when your ready to be gotten as usual.
looking up at the building you had yet to breathe but you knew it would be ok for soon it would be time to get up on stage and address the people.
you went inside got fit for your personal mic and heard a voice from yonder speak.
Jensen: "dude i broke up with her why the hell would i want to sing with her.?."
Jared: "she is miserable plus i kinda have been messaging her."
jensen: "why the hell are you talking with her.. what happened to the bro code."
jared: "cause she needed someone to talk her through her 2 weeks of solitude.... i was there for her. just listen to her rehearsal dude."
Jared nods for jensen to turn his head they both watch and listen as you do your warm ups.
stage hand: "when your ready... sing something so we can calculate your vocal patterns."
you stood still not knowing if this would be heard by many people... but you sang straight from the heart, channeling all your hurt, all your pain into this one song...
Y/N: "well baby ive been here before, ive seen this room and ive walked this floor, i used to live alone before i knew ya. and ive seen your flag on the marble arch and love is not a victr'y march its a cold and its a broken hallelujah..."
but at that moment another voice joined in your breaking tones  against the protests of his best friend. but the voice made you stop singing it made you tense up.
Jensen: "hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah..."
but you were so scared of what may come out of your mouth that in your dress withiut your shoes you ran off the stage, and into your dressing room.
~meanwhile jensen is getting talked to by jared who is just looking out for your well being.~
Jared: “Jay you shouldnt have done that, this is the first time in weeks that you guys have seen eachother and the first idea you have is to scare her by joining her in singing that song. do you have any idea how much emotion she expelled when she sang that part of the song.?.”
Jensen: “what the hell is going on so badly that she would confide in you and not me? why would she confide in you and not me? what arent you telling me?”
Jared: “ever wonder why she was acting a little different, why she always took her time getting ready. why she started having to go to the doctor so much. why she got so emotional the day you guys split."
Jensen had to think about this for he had not noticed anything like that, well he had he just didnt say anything.
Jensen: "well what is her reasoning... and it better explain everything."
Jared couldnt believe how clueless his best friend was being... he couldnt believe how stupid he was acting...
Jared: "shes pregnant dude."
Jensen: "what? what are you talking about?"
Jared couldnt take it anymore his best friend was gonna drive him nuts if he didnt tell him.
Jared: "she called me the day you guys broke up, she had a doctors appointment and didnt want to go alone so i went with her... i saw it myself its true... doc said she is about a month along. baby is definately yours jay."
Jensen was so shocked at this point... he couldnt believe it you were a month pregnant, with his baby...
Jensen: "well i guess that explains a few things but why wouldnt you tell me.."
Jared: "cause it wasnt my tale to tell... but seriously dude if you want her back dont scare her please."
~Jensen knew he had to get you back but it wasnt going to be easy... thats when the party started~
announcer: “welcome one and all.. tonight will be full of love, laughter, dancing and song. tonight is gonna be the night of all nights. lets kick it off with some cocktails and a song... so every one grab your cocktails and i will introduce our first singer in a moment.”
the announcer came up to you and smiled.
Announcer: “thank you for coming i heard what happened through the grapevine. are you sure you want to go up there and sing.”
Y/N: “i cant sit and be afraid of the world and their opinions anymore.”
Announcer: “ok would you mind going first?”
Y/N: “k but if it looks like im gonna freeze cut the music...”
Announcer: “ok i’ll go introduce you..”
the announcer walks out on the stage as the crowd comes back to the center of the room...
Announcer: “ok so she just had a horrible break up but she still came out tonight here to sing something that describes what she is feeling here is Y/N...”
you turned on your mic pack as you walked out on stage to the beat of the music. you knew that anything else would have made you scared but you gave your best smile...
Y/N: “Last christmas i gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away... this year to save me from tears i’ll give it to someone special. Last Christmas i gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away. this year to save me from tears i’ll give it to someone special...”
you were not sure if you would be able to do the rest of the song but you had to try.
Y/n: "once bitten and twice shy i keep my distance but you still catch my eye tell me baby do you recognize me well it's been a year and it doesn't surprise me. i wrapped it up and sent it with a note saying "I love you" i meant it now i know what a fool ive been but if you kissed me now i know you'd fool me again."
thats when Jensen came up on the stage view slowly. it startled you knowing how close he was but it didnt make you stop singing instead you turned to face him.
y/N: "last Christmas i gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away this year to save me from tears ill give it to someone special."
you froze before continuing but Jensen instead pipped in..
Jensen: "a face on a lover with fire in your heart but im undercover but ive torn you apart... i mever meant to hurt you, now i know what a fool i was but if i kissed you now would you marry me.?."
you were shocked and just stood there in a shocked state then the music cut... the crowd just as shocked as you but anxiously awaiting your answer..
you instead of answering broke down into tears falling on your knees in front of Jensen you sobbed, for you knew that he knew about the baby...
Y/N: "im sorry Jay i should have told you as soon as i found out but i was scared, i love you Jensen Ackles. i would be honored to become your wife."

ok so like id be super down to hearabout your 4 pages worth of hcs???? and also after going through the prompt list i couldnt stop thinking about chansaw 26 possibly set in a sadder version of bored
i might write my headcanons down in a separate post soon, but in the meantime, prepare for angst. you asked for it, so i’m absolved of any guilt for any emotional distress.
26: Broken, as you clutch the sleeve of my jacket and beg me not to leave
Chansaw
Veronica groaned as she pushed herself out of bed. Still a few hours before she had to leave. Might as well go early, since she didn’t have much time left to sleep. The extra hour wouldn’t be worth the interruption. She carefully walked to the bathroom, doing her best to navigate without her glasses. She made it to the bathroom without incident, somehow managed to put her contacts in without trouble, and grimaced at the amount of hickeys on her neck and shoulders. Heather had come to visit last night, and Veronica hadn’t been strong enough to tell her to leave.
This was getting old. It wasn’t sustainable. She kept getting worried looks from Betty and Martha, and she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to tell them she was alright and make it believable.
Grumbling to herself, she did her makeup, making sure to cover up the bite marks, and headed downstairs, pouring herself a cup of coffee and leaving. She knew she should be eating. She shouldn’t start skipping meals again. Veronica sighed, rooting through her bag for one of the granola bars she kept for when she couldn’t bring herself to eat more than a few bites of food.
Empty. Fantastic. She sighed and grabbed her bike, sending a quick text to Heather to let her know not to bother picking her up. She needed to clear her head.
The roads were clear enough this time of the morning that she was able to listen to music without worrying about being taken off guard by a car. She managed to somewhat improve her mood by the time she reached the school. If she could have gotten her morning run in, she would have felt even better, but she hadn’t been able to go jogging in a few weeks. She sighed as she parked her bike, fishing the bike lock out of her bag and locking it to the bike rack. She was starting to get restless, her body itching to run, or climb, or anything else to get rid of some of this energy.
On her way inside the school building, she noticed she was scratching at her arm. She grimaced, pulling her hand away from her wrist. She definitely needed to get some of her nervous energy out.
Nodding to herself, she wandered to the locker rooms, retrieving a tank top and a pair of shorts from her locker, as well as a beat up pair of purple and black running shoes, before changing and running out towards the track.
She grinned as she stretched by the shredded rubber of the track lanes, the chill of the wind sending a shiver through her that snapped her awake. She breathed in deeply, the clear air affording her a moment of contentment. This would be the perfect opportunity for her to clear her head.
With a practiced ease, she tied her hair back in a low ponytail, untangled her headphones, and plugged them into her phone, pressing play on her exercise playlist and starting off at a slow jog, gradually picking up speed until she reached a comfortable pace.
She ran until the songs blurred together and she could no longer bring herself to care what the lyrics were. She ran until her legs burned from the exertion and her face was slick with sweat.
She slowed her pace until she was walking at a leisurely pace in lane 8, pausing her playlist and just listening to the sounds of her surroundings until she caught her breath. She soon walked off the track, walking back towards the school to shower and reapply her makeup.
She showered quickly and spent a few minutes redoing her makeup before she deemed herself presentable and emotionally ready to face the day, before finally leaving the locker room and making her way to one of her favorite places.
The band room was full of kids finishing up with early morning marching band practice. Veronica grinned, silently making her way to where Betty sat, cleaning her trombone while Martha sorted through their music.
Veronica waited patiently until they’d both put their equipment away before greeting them. “What’s up?”
Martha turned around, grinning from ear to ear. “Morning, Veronica! What are you doing here so early?”
Veronica shrugged. “Woke up early and figured I’d come here early to get some exercise in. You guys were on the other practice field, right?”
Betty nodded, her own smile more restrained than Martha’s, but no less glad to see Veronica. “Yup. How have you been? We haven’t seen you in a while.”
Veronica frowned. “You uh, remember that thing I had with Courtney?”
“Yeah?” Martha’s brow furrowed in confusion. “What about it?”
“I may  have entered a similar arrangement with someone I actually have feelings for, and it may or may not have been a bad idea,” Veronica admitted.
Betty huffed. “Honestly, if they can’t appreciate you, then none of the Heathers deserve to be with you.”
Veronica chuckled. “It wouldn’t be so bad if I just could stop having feelings for her.”
“That’s how it is sometimes,” Betty shrugged.
Veronica nodded. “I just needed to tell someone, and I know you won’t judge me for being an idiot.”
Betty laughed. “That’s because we expect it at this point.”
Veronica stuck out her tongue at Betty. “Whatever. I’ll talk to you two later. Heather’s gonna want to yell at me for riding my bike here instead of letting her show off how generous she is for picking me up.”
Betty scoffed. “What do you see in her, anyways?”
Veronica sighed wistfully. “Something that might not even be there anymore.”
Veronica groaned as she got off her bike and went inside the house.
Heather hadn’t yelled, strangely enough. Rather, she’d just looked at her with an expression Veronica couldn’t read and told her to do whatever she liked.
Veronica thought she knew how to deal with this. She thought she could be okay with what she had.
A knock sounded from the front door, and Veronica huffed, before opening it to reveal-
“Heather,” Veronica said, “I wasn’t expecting company.”
Heather frowned. “What’s up with you lately?”
Veronica shrugged. “Just haven’t been feeling well. It’s nothing.”
Heather scoffed. “Don’t lie to me. You’ve been avoiding me.”
Veronica wasn’t honestly expecting her to catch on so quickly.
“Yeah, I was,” she sighed.
“Why?”
Veronica didn’t have time to answer before her dad’s voice piped up behind her.
“Veronica! Feel like helping your dear old dad with the plants?”
Veronica sighed with relief, turning to answer. “I’ll be there in a second!” She turned back to Heather, her expression neutral. “You want to come in?”
Heather frowned, but didn’t refuse. Veronica shrugged, before turning to walk out towards the back yard. Heather followed until they reached the back porch.
The garden took up most of the yard, with plants of nearly every type scattered about. They were all very obviously well cared for, and as Heather watched Veronica pick up a set of work gloves, she realized there was still so much to learn about Veronica.
“Ah, Heather! Good to see you again!” Veronica’s dad beamed.
Heather blinked. “Nice to see you again too, Mr. Sawyer.”
He sent Veronica an amused look, before turning back to the garden.
“We need to get everything ready before winter.”
Veronica nodded, and the two were soon engrossed in making sure the garden would be ready for them to start planting once spring arrived.
Veronica and her dad returned to the kitchen a few hours later, joking and laughing and looking thoroughly exhausted.
Veronica grinned at her mom, who was standing over the stove, cooking. “What’s cooking mom?”
“Spaghetti, your favorite,” She said, smiling at Veronica.
“Is it okay if Heather stays for dinner?”
Veronica’s mom nodded after a moment. “Absolutely! Now, you and your father should go wash up, and then I expect you both to help set the table.”
Veronica nodded and raced up the stairs. All in all, today wasn’t so bad.
Heather sat awkwardly at the dinner table, making polite, if awkward, conversation with Veronica’s dad.
“I have to say,” Mrs. Sawyer said, “It’s good to see you girls are talking again. When Veronica told us the two of you had had a falling out, we were worried she might not bounce back.”
“What do you mean?” Heather asked.
“Well, the two of you were just about inseparable until third grade,” Mr. Sawyer said, “You were the only  person she’d talk to. She’s always been such an anxious girl. She only used sign language for a long time.”
Mrs. Sawyer laughed. “I remember the two of you would spend hours just learning how to sign with each other. You’re probably the best friend she ever had.”
Veronica had gone silent. She stared down at her food, not touching it despite being almost ravenous just a minute ago.
“I… hadn’t realized we used to be friends,” Heather admitted. “I thought we’d only just met this year.”
Mrs. Sawyer frowned. “That’s odd. You used to spend so much time here, one might think we had two kids instead of one.”
Heather looked over at Veronica, whose gaze hadn’t lifted.
“May I be excused?” Veronica asked. “I’m not feeling too well.”
“Of course,” Mrs. Sawyer said, “Go on up to your room and rest. We’ll take care of the dishes.”
“Thanks,” Veronica said, pushing her chair in and retreating to the kitchen.
Veronica was expecting her parents to just send Heather off with an extra serving of food and that would be the end of it.
She was surprised to instead see Heather Chandler bursting into her room a few minutes later.
“You never told me we used to be friends.”
Veronica shrugged. “You never asked. I figured it was best forgotten.”
Heather frowned. “What’s going on with you? First you’re avoiding me, then this? What’s going on, Ronnie?”
“Don’t,” Veronica growled. “Do not call me that.”
Scary as Veronica’s anger was, Heather didn’t back down. “Tell me what’s going on.”
Veronica groaned. “I can’t do this anymore! When you said you just wanted a casual relationship like what I had with Courtney, I thought I could handle it! I thought it could be enough! But I’m still too in love with you to so much as look at you without it hurting!”
Heather’s eyes widened. “You-”
“And it’s awful because I want so much more than to just be your casual makeout buddy! I want to take you on dates, and hold your hand, and all that mushy, stupid crap! But more than any of that, I want my friend back, but it’s like the Heather Chandler I fell in love with doesn’t even exist!” Veronica sighed, pressing her hands to her face. “Just go.” Her tone was weak, defeated, yet it allowed no room for argument.
Heather reached out, her hand holding tight to the arm of Veronica’s sweatshirt. “I-”
“Go!” Veronica shouted. “Forget I said anything! Forget me too, while you’re at it! You’re good at that.”
“I love you,” Heather whispered pleadingly.
Veronica stiffened. “It’s too little too late, Heather. Just leave.”
Heather stared for a moment, before sighing and walking out of Veronica’s bedroom, closing the door softly behind her.
Veronica collapsed back into her desk chair and let out a heavy sigh. She’d finally done it. She broke off her arrangement with Heather.
Somehow, it didn’t feel as freeing as she’d expected.

Helloooo! I've recently got back into the phandom and have been desperately looking for some true to life? Non au? Or like normal au? Idk how to phrase it but i had no idea who to ask and ive been stalking your blog for the last 3 hours on your fic tag as i couldnt sleep so pllsssss he l p m e i l y
hi welcome back i’m not sure what a ‘normal’ au is :0 like do you want alternative reality/alternative canon fic? or are highschool au’s normal? i mean a highschool au is pretty generic/common to me so… anyway i went through my ao3 bookmarks and listed some fics that i haven’t reblogged before (and aren’t like pwp lol):
reality/alternative reality:
a natural progression - Phil is always surprising Martyn.
Here’s To The Fools Who Dream - As they leave the cinema, the velvety piano that had played throughout the film swirls around Phil’s brain and carries him onto the street. Music doesn’t really make sense to him the way it does to Dan, but the soundtrack had been beautiful and it fills his heart with melancholy and nostalgia and serenity all rolled into one.(Or, the one where it’s snowing and Dan and Phil go to the cinema.)
Saying Goodbye - TRIGGER WARNINGS: PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL ABUSE.Like every relationship, platonic or not, there’s going to be bumps in the road. Dan and Phil’s life together was perfect, so when Dan changed drastically Phil wasn’t expecting it. Phil never bargained for anything Dan threw his way, but he had to keep the promise he’d made. Will Dan push Phil too far? Or, the one where Dan is kind of abusive, and Phil is losing his grip on the real Dan.Warning: This will be sad. Like most of my fics. I would say I’m sorry, but I’m not. Enjoy!!
Prestige - Just some classic 2012 angst for you, because I’m just that original.
Read It and Weep - Dan’s feelings toward Phil are nothing but platonic, or so he thinks before stumbling upon some actually decent phanfiction and falling face-first into the abyss.
untitled.01 - TRIGGER WARNINGS: EATING DISORDER MENTION, SELF HARM MENTION, SELF HATE MENTION, IMPLIED/REFERENCED CHARACTER DEATH.Or the one where dan //doesn’t// have an eating disorder.
all was golden in the sky - Sequel to link it to yourself. Phil takes a trip back to 2009, and has a talk with himself from 6 years ago.
Your Everything - Dan had never thought that he was particularly good-looking. He knew that other people found him attractive though. Most importantly, he knew that Phil found him attractive.
#IPreferDan - He never planned on keeping the pill a secret from Phil because he never planned on Phil and him living together so comfortably for over 3 years. He’d banked on a year maybe a year and a half before they went their separate ways. He’d only banked on 2 months max before Phil found out what the pills were for. Dan couldn’t believe it was 2015 and Phil didn’t know yet.Or the one where Dan was born female and refuses to tell anyone.
Bells For Becca - Phil’s long-term girlfriend mysteriously vanishes without a trace. With her history of suicide attempts her family fears the worst. He, however, does not lose hope. He spends 5 years desperately searching for her. Just when he thinks of giving up he receives new information on her possible whereabouts… One thing is for sure: a person can change a lot in 5 years.
Phan: The Classic Method - Well, it always works, according to the experts.
Phan: Casual Domesticity - It’s not ever for naught. Ever.
Fanboy - Dan could only be happy when he watched Amazingphil’s videos.
au that i think is pretty normal (like at least they’re both human??):
Blue Tweets - Prompt: At Dan and Phil’s high school, Dan is a talkative, popular teen actor, and Phil is a quiet daydreamer. Dan thinks Phil’s cute and constantly talks about him on his Twitter, danisnotonfire (no duh). What he doesn’t know is that Phil follows him, and starts to connect the dots. (High school au.)
Trouble Maker - In which Dan gets into a fight and has to serve two weeks detention, where he meets his shy and usually quiet classmate Phil.
Come What May - Phil Lester usualy wasn’t one to go to strip clubs. But after being coaxed into it by a couple of his friends he meets the ever hypnotizing Greyson Bear(Dan Howell). Easily falling in love with him Phil works to save Dan from the underworld of prostitution.
Everyone Has Secrets - Phil Lester is a nerdy guy that no one really pays attention to. Dan Howell is an intimidating badass who becomes more of an enigma as you get to know him, although people rarely do. They might not have much in common, but it soon becomes apparent that everyone has secrets.
also this one is set in the dapc universe and i think it’s a canon au(?????):
Hell’s Waiting Room - Based on the 1733rd danandphilCRAFTS video.
i didn’t went through my wattpad account but this is what i’m (slowly) currently reading and this is a highschool au:
I Need You To Hate Me (Phan AU) - Friendships are simple. Sometimes, love is simple. But honesty? No one  ever thinks about what telling the blatant truth will do, do they? Maybe they should. Maybe that’s what Dan should have done… but instead he sets a path of cruel endeavours to make his best friend hate him. There are only two ways this can work out…

Last week I released my list of goals for 2019, but before I can truly dive into those new ones, let’s see how I did on my goals for 2018.
.
1) Do a handstand
COMPLETED
While I can’t say I can walk to work in full handstand while carrying my purse with my feet, I have come SO FAR from the beginning of the year.
.
2) Take a kickboxing class
COMPLETED
Guys. Seriously, take a kickboxing class. I mean, I figured I’d like it. Love it, even. But I didn’t realize it would be therapeutic. I genuinely worked through some things while I was punching and kicking that damn bag. So it’s safe to say that I will definitely make my way back to some classes in 2019.
.
3) Visit (at least) 20 museums in Los Angeles
WILL CONTINUE IN 2019
I only ended up making it to 8 museums this year, which is a bummer, but not that surprising when I look back at how busy my 2018 was. Instead of just letting it go however, I decided to make finishing this goal one of my goals for 2019. Hopefully this year I’ll find some more spare weekends to get out and see some ‘seums.
.
4) Get CPR certified
COMPLETED
That’s right, folks! According to the certificate that was emailed to me by the Red Cross, I am officially CPR and First Aid certified! I can officially save your life (if you’re having a minor crisis that was covered by the training)!!
If you’re interested in getting certified, you can find more information here.
.
5) Shoot (at least) 1 roll of film per month
(ESSENTIALLY) COMPLETED
I fell off a little at the end, but I shot 13 total rolls of film this year so I’m calling it good. I absolutely love that I set this goal and the pictures turned out SO COOL. Here are a few of my favorites:
.
6) Complete the 104 things to Photograph book
NOT QUITE
Yeahhhhhh. I just didn’t get around to this one, to be honest. I thought it would tie in really well with my film goal, but I just didn’t put in the effort to take pictures that corresponded to the prompts in the book. As of now, I could probably fill half of it, and while I will continue to fill it, I just couldn’t do it in one year.
.
7) Visit the sea glass beach in Fort Bragg, CA
FULLY PLANNED
I have worked out all the details needed to take this trip, and my roommates and I have thrown out potential dates. So while we didn’t take this trip in 2018, I think we will definitely make time for it in 2019.
.
8) Go to the dentist
COMPLETED
Yes, I went to the dentist. No, it was not fun.
.
9) Watch 20 documentaries
COMPLETED
This was another goal that I loved more than I thought I would. There are SO MANY documentaries out there that cover SO MANY different topics. And since I’m already someone that loves dropping fun facts, watching these documentaries this year gave me more material than I knew what to do with!
If you’re interested, these are the ones that I watched. I put my favorites in bold!
Happy (Netflix)
The Mortified Guide (Netflix)
The Mortified Sessions (Netflix)
Minimalism (Netflix)
Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (Amazon)
Three Identical Strangers (Amazon)
Amanda Knox (Netflix)
Icarus (Netflix)
Evil Genius (Netflix)
The White Helmets (Netflix)
Tiny Shoulders (Hulu)
Conor McGregor: Notorious (Netflix)
The Mind of Jake Paul (YouTube)
Zion (Netflix)
Seeing Allred (Netflix)
Ballet Now (Hulu)
Becoming Bond (Hulu)
The Barkley Marathons (Amazon)
Blue Planet 2 (Netflix)
Batman & Bill (Hulu)
.
10) Perfect an omelet
DIDN’T REALLY WANT TO ANYMORE?
Yeah, I don’t really know what to say about this one. I mean, I had every intention of learning to make an omelette and I constantly mentioned buying a new pan that would help me do so, but then I just kind of…didn’t want an omelet? I don’t know. I guess I was really craving them in 2017, craving them enough to make perfecting them a goal for 2018, but here in 2019, I just want hard boiled eggs in my lunch box and fried eggs on my burgers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
.
11) See (at least) one movie in theaters per month
ONLY MISSED DECEMBER
Similar to the film goal, I did fall short at the end on this one, but I think I more than made up for it the rest of the year.
Here are all the movies I saw in theaters this year. And again, my favorites are in bold! 🙂
I, Tonya
Call Me By Your Name
Maze Runner: The Death Cure
50 Shades Freed
Red Sparrow
I Can Only Imagine
A Quiet Place
Book Club
Incredibles 2
Won’t You Be My Neighbor
Three Identical Strangers
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again
Eighth Grade
Skate Kitchen
Crazy Rich Asians
A Star is Born
Bohemian Rhapsody
.
12) Read 20 books off the Time’s 100 List
COMPLETED
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it one thousand times: AUDIOBOOKS. They are the only reason I made it through this goal, and since finishing Time’s list is on my 30 Before 30 list, I’m sure they’ll be the driving force behind completing that as well. #teamaudiobooks
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Dear God, it’s Me Margaret
On the Road
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
Lord of the Flies
To the Lighthouse
The Day of the Locust
The Great Gatsby
To Kill a Mockingbird
Never Let Me Go
Revolutionary Road
The Painted Bird
Red Harvest
The Big Sleep
Mrs. Dalloway
The Moviegoer
Housekeeping
A Clockwork Orange
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
1984
.
13) Pay off credit card
MAKING PROGRESS
About halfway through the year I had to pull the plug on this one because I just didn’t have the resources to continue, but I’ve since got back on track and am making progress slowly but surely!
.
14) See 3 WRLA’s
COMPLETED
While on a trip to Seattle and Canada in March, I was able to complete this goal, seeing the World’s Largest Cowboy Hat & Boots in Seattle, WA, the World’s Largest Paper Airplane in Mukilteo, WA, and the World’s Largest Tin Solider in New Westminster, BC, Canada!
.
15) Volunteer (at least) 5 times
COMPLETED
After what seemed like a promising start, I once again found myself scrambling a little bit at the end. I did get my five slots in, but it wasn’t without a little sweat and frantic planning. The main charities I volunteered for this year were Food Forward and Children’s Hunger Fund. Check them out!
.
16) Donate Blood
COMPLETED
Yes, I did it! Was it my favorite thing ever? No. But will I do it again because it’s an easy way to help out? Definitely!
Find out more about donating blood here.
.
17) Do the 1 second/day video challenge
COMPLETED!
This was probably the most stressful goal for me because I was constantly having to remember to film a second for each day, but I genuinely love how it turned out. Shout out to everyone in the video! You are all reasons why this video/year turned out great because you were part of some of my favorite moments of 2018 🙂
youtube
.
Overall, I’d say this was a very successful year! It was a little crazy, a little blurry, and a little bit overwhelming, but I’m very thankful for all that it had to offer.
Now we’re off into the mysterious world of 2019!
I hope it treats you well and that you feel inspired to go for it! Whatever it may be for you. ❤
.
