I have always enjoyed the prequel fights but I also hated them because they look like choreography. I do not think the characters look like they’re actually trying to kill each other. They look like they are taking turns banging their lightsabers together.

The Kenobi Series was a whole different thing!!!! Especially that last duel. Obi-Wan and Vader look like they are seriously trying to kill each other. And Obi-Wan uses particular cut patterns and postures that prove this show’s choreographers understood real sword fighting. It was so goddamn refreshing I could sob.

I'm not normal about the fact that Ewan can't say "master Qui-Gon" in the Kenobi series without sounding twenty years younger. I don't know if it's a deliberate acting choice or a happy accident, but it's there.

He's all gravely hermit voice except when he says "master" or "Qui-Gon" or both and I have feelings😩

GOD i’m never gonna be able to watch the clone wars again am I. seeing obi wan a depressed, painfully mortal and completely alone man is going to forever haunt me when I think of the clone wars.

Every time i see obi wan make a witty quip or smoothly talk his way out of a situation i’m going to remember the same obi wan making the most rookie mistake twelve years later. Every time his hand immediately goes to his lightsaber for safety and protection, and then watching him wield it like the master of soresu he is, i’m going to remember his hand first going to his blaster and the way vader beat him easily. this show, man.

I watched Star Wars: Obi Wan, and I really enjoyed the juxtaposition between Luke and Leia's foster families and how Obi Wan treats them. Owen and Beru blame Obi Wan for what happened to Anakin and want nothing to do with him, and especially don't want Luke to get involved with him. The Organas, on the other hand, don't blame Obi Wan for what happened and are more than willing to call on him to help get their daughter back. Obi Wan, meanwhile, is keeping a very close eye on Luke while not paying much attention to Leia. It's a fascinating study in contrasts.

I am delighted that the first couple episodes of Obi Wan Kenobi follow one of my favorite tropes: jaded retired hero gets pulled back into one more adventure by a child in need. Especially because the hero in this case is sad, disillusioned Obi Wan and the child is his small and incredibly sassy niece

okay but Sidious' face while Vader is ranting to him like the kriffing teenaged soul drama queen he is not that deep down, the mild amusement mixed with a hint of concern and a pinch of "the fuck should I say to that", followed with the equivalent of "you seem a tad bit antsy bestie" is peak comedy and you can't change my mind.
