It's his day to join the Hades AU! Happy Cody Day!!
""This weapon is your life" is what my general often said to lecture his old padawan during the war, and yet he constantly lost his. The lightsaber and his cloak... The things might be cursed. Not as much as yours, though."
"Please keep that thing far away from my kid."
Rex from down the hall: "Stop trolling the shiny as a way to cope, Cody!"
Cody: "I have nothing to cope with, this is just for fun. The Darksaber is definitely cursed and you know it."
Rex: "Oh yeah, it definitely is. Sorry kid."
Din is still trying to figure out how he counts as a "shiny" here
Backgrounds, as per usual, are screenshots from my latest attempts at a run in the Hades game. All I can do is add more pocket characters, I'm not gonna redraw the whole set TT^TT (but look, Din is holding a handful of green and brown pixels now!)

the codywan dynamic is so weird cat and random guy who the universe was like 'woe! cat be upon ye!' coded
Obi-Wan: looks very dignified but alas he is orange boy cat, constantly tries to get into things, he is gripped by the need to investigate, 5 more braincells than average but he uses all of them for crimes
Cody: did not want a cat, has never in his life asked for a cat, he just found obi-wan in his room one day. the bastard will not leave. when asked, he says he'd sell the bastard to Satan for a single corn chip but Gregor has pics of them cuddling. he is told one can not train a cat like a dog. a coward's opinion. Obi-Wan can do so many tricks now.

the littlest Corrie
Corrie Guard CT-9832, “Ace”, reported for duty for the very first time at 0700 in Commander Fox’s office.
The commander had clearly been working through the night — either that or he was partial to three ration tins, a whole pot of caf, and meditating face-down on his desk first thing in the morning.
Fives— no, Ace— knocked on the doorframe. Loudly.
Fox jerked upright, eyes crossed, drool drying in his stubble. When he finally focused on Ace, he stopped looking baffled and became disgustingly smug.
“Ace. How does the kit fit?” He rasped.
Ace took off his bucket so he could scowl more effectively. “Bit on the nose, calling me that.”
Fox’s self-satisfied smirk turned nasty, but no less pompous. “My apologies. Would you have preferred ‘Baby Blue’?”
Ace sat down at the commander’s desk without waiting for permission, propping his boots on the dusk with pointedly heavy thunks.
“Better’n ‘Dead Man’.” He said.

love that nobody can function without echo in the empire era. the batch keeps losing the ship, barely manage to finish their missions, and entirely forgo strategy. and then on the other hand, rex pre-echo-joining-the-rebellion was living in an abandoned garage with one singular tiny ship. then shortly after echo joins they have a whole base with like twenty troopers and real doors and actual food and a ship actually designed for long distance travel.

YO.
I’m watching Sabine’s Mandalore arc in Rebels season 3 and there’s some CRAZY foreshadowing here for her in Ahsoka.
I’m at the scene where Ursa betrays Sabine and hands over Kanan, Ezra, and the Darksaber to Gar Saxon on the promise that he not harm her daughter.
And Gar Saxon - voiced by RAY STEVENSON who played Baylon Skoll in Ahsoka - drops this line to Sabine.
“Your mother betrayed everything you believe in to save you.”
Maybe foreshadowing isn’t quite the right word (since Filoni hadn’t even written Ahsoka yet) here, but what Ursa did basically being the template for Sabine’s actions to save Ezra ten plus years later is BONKERS.
Sabine’s actions echo her mother’s in such an uncanny way. It has to be a coincidence since this was written way before Ahsoka but, damn, what a striking parallel.
Ursa practically handed Mandalore and two of the last living Jedi over to the Empire’s rule. And Sabine gave Thrawn the key to his return and the potential resurgence of the Empire.
They both made the same choice: exchanging innocent lives for a loved one’s safety (albeit Sabine’s choice was on a galactic scale).
You could literally use that same line Gar Saxon delivers with one minor change - this time to a devastated Ezra.
“Sabine betrayed everything you believe in to save you.”
Like mother, like daughter.
I’m losing my marbles over this. It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
