The fact there's some people who seriously think Movie!Adrien sucks because "he's not nice anymore" is so wild to me.
Did we watch the same movie? Yeah, he's mopey, but that doesn't equate to him being mean. The only time he lashes out is towards Gabriel, and that's entirely fucking deserved, at that point in the story he's still being a shitty, emotionally absent father to Adrien.
A character doesn't need to be a perfectly demure and subservient doll to be nice, least of all one that is supposed to be a minor in an emotionally abusive household.

(Miraculous Ladybug.) Adrian's Restraining Order
Realizing his “friend,” Marinette, is a stalker, Adrian decides to file for a restraining order.
“See?” Chloe told her oldest friend as she crossed her arms onto her chest, “I told you she was obsessed with you.”
As the news sank in, Adrian couldn’t help but feel a sense of disbelief and confusion. Marinette, his kind and sweet friend, being labeled as a stalker seemed unimaginable to him. However, he couldn’t ignore the mounting evidence presented to him.
Feeling a mix of apprehension and concern, Adrian went to the police station to inquire about the process of filing a restraining order. This was a challenging decision for him, especially considering the deep bond he shared with Marinette. But if it was true that she had crossed boundaries and was causing harm, he needed to prioritize his own well-being.
With a heavy heart, he entered the police station and was directed to the appropriate department. Adrian spoke to an officer, explaining the situation while providing any evidence he had on hand. He disclosed instances of Marinette’s behavior that had raised concerns, such as constantly following him or showing up uninvited to his private events.
The officer listened attentively, taking notes and asking clarifying questions. They assured Adrian that his concerns were valid and that they would do their best to handle the situation with sensitivity and discretion. The officer explained that they would need to gather more information and evidence before proceeding with the restraining order.
Adrian agreed to cooperate fully, realizing the importance of establishing boundaries to ensure his safety and mental well-being. He provided the officer with screenshots of text messages and emails from Marinette that displayed her persistent and intrusive behavior.
“Adrian, I want you to understand that Marinette isn’t a friend; it’s a form of a toxic relationship that could lead to potential harm,” the officer said empathetically. “We will do everything in our power to protect you and resolve this situation.”
Adrian nodded, his heart heavy, realizing that his once cherished friendship could have taken such a dark turn. He couldn’t help but wonder what had caused Marinette to become so obsessed with him. Had he unknowingly done something to encourage her behavior, or was it solely her own issues?
As the days went by, Adrian continued to provide the police with any additional evidence they requested. He discovered that Marinette had kept a detailed journal of his daily activities, noting every little detail. The police assured him that they would handle the situation in a manner that prioritized his safety and privacy.
He was also disturbed that Marinette had presents that would last to his 50th birthday, that she’d followed him to China, and had multiple pictures of himself pinned to a corkboard next to where she slept.
The poor blonde hair boy even felt uncomfortable that Marinette’s friends, including Alya, supported her. Adrien held his head in his hands, remembering seeing the signs before, but being the naïve kind soul he is, he was totally blindsided.
As the investigation progressed, Adrian started to understand the gravity of the situation. The evidence of Marinette’s obsession with him was undeniable, and it became increasingly clear that he had made the right decision to file for a restraining order. He couldn’t continue to have her invade his privacy and undermine his sense of security.
Over time, Marinette was expelled from school and had to transfer to another one across Paris.
Her parents, Tom and Sabine, were very disappointed in their daughter’s actions and wished they stopped the obsession sooner.
Meanwhile, Adrian focused on rebuilding his life and surrounding himself with supportive friends.
He couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief after taking the necessary steps to protect himself. He knew he deserved to feel safe and secure, and he wouldn’t let Marinette’s actions continue to hold power over him.
With the restraining order, Adrian could move forward without fearing Marinette’s presence. He found solace in his true friends, who stood by him throughout the ordeal, offering their unwavering support and understanding. It was through their encouragement that Adrian began to heal and regain his trust in others.
Though the experience had been challenging, it taught Adrian the importance of recognizing toxic relationships and setting healthy boundaries. He became more mindful of those around him, ensuring his interactions were based on mutual respect and consent. Adrian also took the time to educate himself on mental health and the signs of unhealthy obsession, vowing to be vigilant and empathetic towards others who may be going through similar situations.
After-school one day: Adrian’s best friend, Nino, approaches him and places his hand on Adrian’s white jacket shoulder.
“Hey, dude, I just wanna apologize for not seeing the signs sooner,” Nino apologizes softly, his brown eyes filled with genuine remorse. Adrian looked at him, appreciating the sincerity in his friend’s voice.
“It’s okay, Nino. I didn’t see the signs either,” Adrian replied, his voice tinged with sadness. “But we can’t blame ourselves for not knowing. It’s not our fault.”
Nino nodded, accepting Adrian’s words.
“I know, but still, I wish I could have done something to help you. I’m here for you now, though, and I won’t let anything like this happen again.” Nino spoke.
Adrian smiled, grateful for Nino’s support. “Thank you, Nino. Truly, I’m lucky to have you as a friend. And please, don’t blame yourself. We’re all still learning.”
Nino nodded again, a determined look in his eyes. “You’re right, Adrian. We’ll learn from this and be there for each other. That’s what friends do.”
As they walked down the school hallway together, Adrian couldn’t help but feel a newfound strength and appreciation for the true friends in his life. While the experience with Marinette had been difficult, it also showed him the importance of surrounding himself with people who genuinely cared for his well-being.
With Nino and his other friends by his side, Adrian felt confident that he could move forward, leaving the pain of the past behind. They would create new memories, support each other, and build a future free from unhealthy obsessions.
And at that moment, as they walked side by side, Adrian couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope, knowing that brighter days were ahead.
Outside the school:
“Hey, Adrian!’ Chloe called, rushing up to Adrian before he climbed into the back of his limo, with Sabrina trying to keep up to Chloe’s side.
“What’s up, Chloe?” Adrian asked softly.
“Just wanted to say that I’m really sorry about everything that happened. I didn’t realize how much Marinette was hurting you, and I feel awful for not being there for you,” Chloe said, her voice filled with sincerity.
Adrian looked at Chloe, appreciating her genuine apology. “Thank you, Chloe. I know you didn’t mean for things to turn out this way. I’m glad we can move past it and focus on being friends.”
Chloe nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Definitely. And if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m here for you.”
Adrian smiled back at her, grateful for her support. “Thank you, Chloe. I truly appreciate it.”
As Adrian got into the back of his limo, he couldn’t help but reflect on how far he had come. From feeling trapped and unsafe to finding strength in his friends, he knew that he had the power to create a positive future for himself. With his friends by his side, he felt hopeful for the coming days and excited for the opportunities that awaited him. And as the limo pulled away, Adrian looked forward to the journey ahead, ready to face whatever challenges and joys lay in store.
The End.

It's Over
Adrien learns an unsavory truth about Marinette. He struggles to come to terms with it.
cw: victim blaming, possible panic attack (akumatisation process)
preview under the cut.
The first tear that fell was a surprise to both of them. He stared down at the darkening spot the liquid had made on his couch and sniffed as more and more drops appeared.
“Oh please don’t cry,” Alix tried, her hand rubbing up and down his back. “I’m not really good with tearful emotions.”
Adrien just looked up at her, face blank as more tears fell. It was all he could do to keep from breaking and letting out all he was feeling. He was betrayed, sad, scared, disgusted, and still… still he wanted nothing more than to spill all of this into Marinette’s warm embrace and have her hold him while he cried.
But that Marinette he knew and fell in love with didn’t exist anymore. She never did.
Suddenly he was angry. Not at Marinette, no he was too busy cursing himself for ignoring the signs. Assuming it was Ladybug who had replied to his Valentine’s letter and not wondering how it was found to begin with, never noticing how Marinette always knew where his latest shoot was despite the details being private, not investigating when Chloe had called Marinette a stalker in front of the class.
How stupid could he possibly be ? It was all right there and he willfully ignored it, why? Because it was convenient? Because she appeared harmless? Because she was a friend?
He of all people should’ve known that people like her came in all forms; strangers, teachers, friends. He should’ve known. He should’ve known. He should’ve known.
“– Rien! Adrien, please!” Alix’s voice floated into his cramped mind, her tone sharp and panicked. Why?
He tried to look around for her, his surroundings having gone dark sometime while he was lost in thought, but he couldn’t see anything but the endless void he was drowning in. He knew something was wrong, but he couldn’t figure it out. He was just so angry, so tired of being taken as a fool because of his own inadequacy.
He was warned, by his father of all people. His father, the King of refusing to see past his own two feet, had seen what Adrien had missed.
He couldn’t move, couldn’t see, couldn’t feel anything other than self-loathing so strong it almost choked him. He wanted nothing more than to curl into a ball and he couldn’t even do that. He couldn’t do anything worthwhile, anything he wanted. He couldn’t even get a girlfriend he could safely love.

The more that I think about the fact that Marinette was a bullying victim, the more it makes sense why she fell in love with Adrien.
Imagine being a victim of bullying and instantly distrusting anyone that treats you horribly, until for once you meet a person who treats you with kindness and friendliness. I can't blame her for falling for him.

Yandere Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Adrien Agreste Headcanons (Poly!Romantic)
❝🐞 — lady l: hi!! I finally wrote this and it's set in an au where they eventually discover each other's identities to make more sense. I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, stalking, polyamorous and unhealthy relationships.
❝🐞pairing: yandere!adrinette/ladynoir x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything was always very complicated between them. Marinette in love with Adrien and Adrien in love with Ladybug, both unaware of each other's identities and feelings.
Marinette always remained hiding her feelings for Adrien, too embarrassed to say anything and Adrien continued to yearn for Ladybug. This continued for a long time, until your arrival in their lives.
You were a new student and felt out of place after leaving your old school and your friends. You hoped to make friends at this new school, but you were afraid you wouldn't be able to do so. But luckily, or unluckily, you met Marinette first and she introduced you to her friends, who immediately liked you.
Marinette liked you, at first sight, you were so kind and sweet. She almost fell right there and it confused her, but she couldn't help but admire you.
Adrien became interested in you after a few conversations, and you caught his interest and attraction. He had something about you that made him attracted, and curious, an unknown feeling that he wanted to feel more of.
It wasn't difficult to notice their interest in you, Marinette constantly stuttering and blushing when you were around and Adrien, although shy, loved flirting with you and seeing you blush.
It wasn't easy to admit their interest in you, Marinette was still in love with Adrien but she really was in love with you, therefore, she didn't know what to do. Adrien was more resolute and acted in the way he knew how wanting to declare himself because he could no longer keep his feelings to himself.
Adrien was the one who first noticed Marinette's interest in you and he was surprised to notice that he didn't have a problem with it. If it were anyone else, he would have, but not with her. Because Marinette had a habit of stalking you incessantly, it didn't take long for her to realize that Adrien liked you. She was curious and excited, not jealous like she thought she would be.
They talked and decided to act quickly, both confessing to you. You were surprised and flattered and accepted, and finally, a romance happening.
Marinette is very jealous and overprotective, always wanting to know where you are and she will be very worried if she doesn't know. She will go so far as to use her Miraculous to look for you, even knowing the consequences.
Adrien is possessive, getting jealous very easily, and doesn't react well to it. He doesn't like it when you're with someone other than him and Marinette and will use intimidation to make someone stay away from you, whether with money or even his Miraculous.
They have always been very protective of you and at any sign of danger you will be quickly hidden and protected. They already talked about giving you a Miraculous, but Adrien considered it too dangerous. There was always a chance you could get hurt and he wasn't going to allow it.
You are spoiled intensely, clothes made by Marinette and bought by Adrien, jewelry, food, expensive and extravagant gifts to the simplest ones, like roses. You will never lack for anything as long as they are by your side.
They want to see you happy more than anything and will do everything to make that happen. They can't even think about the idea of you being akumatized, the idea alone sends them into a frenzy at the thought of it happening to you. No, they have to be sure that this will never happen.
Marinette is very kind and soft, a mask of her true stalker and extremely jealous side. Adrien is kind and calm, always with a smile on his face and ready to make you smile, but he acts very strangely when you don't do what he asks.
They know they shouldn't use Miraculous for selfish reasons but when it comes to you, they won't care. Marinette doesn't care about ruining herself for you and Adrien has been ruined for a long time.
You are theirs and anyone who tries to get in the way will suffer the consequences. After all, you didn't just belong to Marinette and Adrien, but also to Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Re the stalking thing and the anon wanting to hear from people who have been stalked: Hi, that's me and a loved one who also watched this show!
For the most part, Marinette is not written like a stalker. She's written like an obsessed fangirl. She doesn't really follow Adrien around outside of school, she only shows up to public events/appearances, and all of the pictures on her walls are professional photos, not things that she took in secret. Her chest of gifts is all things for future birthdays, not things that she's bombarding him with constantly to make him feel unsafe.
I'm not saying that her behavior is healthy, it's one of my least favorite elements of the show and I can see why it would be triggering if you've been stalked. But in terms of what she actually does vs the behaviors associated with stalkers, she's either not one at all or in the very most proto stages of becoming one.
I don't think her actions are funny or even appropriate for a kids show (call me old fashioned, but I think main characters who are meant to win kids hearts should portray healthy behavior or have their unhealthy behavior addressed and corrected) I think they leaned way too hard into the fangirl thing, ignoring how differently that plays if you actually know the person that you're a fan of.
Her worst behaviors are also clearly exaggerated to absurdity. Like knowing his schedule for the next three years? No one knows their schedule for the next three years! This is clearly absurdist humor. The toned down, realistic version of this joke is that she knows when his weekly activities take place because of course she does. They're classmates and that stuff repeats every week. I knew my high school crushes schedule, too. I didn't actively seek it out. I just saw it repeat enough times to know it by heart.
