I briefly return to this blog because the new Zelda game got me motivated to finally finish this old comic I sketched two years ago!

Spirit Tracks is the first Zelda game I played and I freakin love how cute they are in that game! Blushing, being a cool duo, motivating each other, hugging and holding hands at the end?! I may absolutely love BotW/TotK Zelink and Skyward Sword Zelink... but damn it, Spirit Tracks finally lets her be more involved in the adventure and I LOVE IT!!!

Spirit Tracks ZeLink hcs please?

Late night post eheh

First of all, thank you for requesting some headcanons!! As you know my knowledge of Spirit Tracks is not exactly the best, BUT I still have some headcanons about these two babies because I fucking love them

Let's get started:

- I am fully convinced that Link brought Zelda on a train on their first date, even though he wanted to bring her somewhere else special at first. He spent days thinking of a cool place but then went for the train because c'mon, is there something more romantic and special than a train date? Probably, but in Link's mind the concept worked;

- Once they actually got together they kept having train dates for their anniversaries because of nostalgia, even as adults;

- They totally had the "ME OR THE TRAINS" fight at least once;

- They're that kind of couple that gets completely lost in those small, cute moments and gestures they have;

- Like imagine they're doing something really important but casually do eye contact. Boom. They could spend whole hours staring into each other's eyes and completely forget about the rest;

- They almost had a train collide with another once because of this;

- Link is the only one able to deal with Zelda's hysterical moments;

- They're inseparable, expect to see them together at basically every hour of the day;

- Even just trying to have them in two separate places is a waste of time;

- In case this attempt magically works though, things won't be easy at all: Link will probably be grumpy af all day long and Zelda will be straight up uncooperative;

- Zelda is still used to not being taken into consideration that much like when she was a ghost, and sometimes makes rude comments on others because she thinks no one outside Link can actually see her or hear her. And about that, the Tetra genes are really strong when making insults and she does NOT go light on people lol. So Link is constantly there to remind her people can see and hear her and to prevent her from making shitty figures in front of everyone;

- Sometimes he doesn't warn her in time and has to justify her for what she said, and takes all the blame;

- (small angst headcanon ehe) Link is sometimes quite reluctant when holding hands with Zelda, he is terrified of feeling his fingers slip through hers just like when she was a ghost;

- However, when he finally decides to take her hand and actually feels her skin over his, my boy has to try and stop himself from starting to sob and refuses to let go for the following hour </3

Aaand here are my headcanons! They're not many but I put all my effort into them, I hope you liked them!! <3

CONGRATULATIONS! Always awesome to see people rise! Would you possibly up for a post-Spirit Tracks story where Link is personally invited by Zelda to a castle ball or function, and despite his apprehensions (feels he doesn’t belong, feels judged, etc.), he goes because he can never say no to her (he might have a crush 😉). Zelda needs him for moral support (diplomacy/the aristocracy can be rough), and they are both equally surprised at how well they look in formal attire 🙂. Hijinks ensue!

So sorry it took me this long but I hope you enjoy!

Link waited, hands fidgeting with his tie and pacing across the carpet, for Zelda to meet him. “Should I even be doing this? What if I mess things up?!” he thought aloud. Just a few weeks ago, his friend (and crush though he would never openly admit it) invited him to the annual celebration of the kingdom’s foundation.

“It would feel a lot less lonely if you were there,” she had told him, hands clasped in his. “Please Link?” He had agreed immediately, feeling that it would be impossible for him to even say no.

Gonzo was thrilled to hear about the news, and had ensured to make Link look as presentable as possible. “There’s going to be a lot of nobility there so remember your manners,” he reminded him as he helped put on his tie. The young hero wore a forest green tailcoat with matching pants and tie, his boots and gloves were as dark as the coals he worked with on the daily, while his dress shirt was a navy blue that reminded him of the night sky. His untamable hair had been brushed back, and he hoped it would stay that way for most of the night (it wouldn’t).

But that had been the least of his worries. Link didn’t feel worthy of going to the ball that was filled with high society, much less accompany the princess. He was a simple train engineer! Sure he had saved the kingdom with Zelda from Cole as well as restored the Spirit Tracks, but he was still just an engineer.

“There you are!” came an angelic voice behind him that he recognized. Turning to look, his jaw dropped and his face flushed red. She wore an ocean blue sleeveless dress with matching gloves that seemed to shimmer as she walked, her hair pinned back into a bun.

Beautiful.

Zelda blushed, “thank you.” Wait, had he said that aloud?! “You look rather dashing yourself.” She stepped closer, he could smell the perfume she wore; something of jasmine. Her hands reached his tie, that was now a mess from him meddling with it, and fixed it.

He fought to not combust right then and there.

“Ready to go?”
