spider!reader running into headquarters and giving miguel the biggest hug ever because she had a dream where something bad happened to him and he’s like ?????
thank you for the requesting!! this is cute ngl :(
༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺
the header quarters was vast—enormous was probably an understatement to say the least. your heart thumped against your rib cage vicariously as you hung upside down on the elevator that was taking you up a few stories high as you were left emotionally scarred from the nightmare you had where miguel tragically died…he was shot in your dream. adrenaline was coursing through your veins as you felt your stomach churn and your heart felt heavy because you couldn’t live with yourself if something bad had happened to miguel. ‘god please be okay.’ none but miguel knew you had an ability such as clairvoyance. no other spider-person but you possess that ability. miguel always needed you because of that ability of yours and it worked wonders when you could seek out into the future and avoid negative outcomes.
but the vivid nightmare plagued your mind by images of miguel in a bloodied bath laid lifeless on an alleyway. the fear lingered, refusing to let you go until you knew for sure he was safe.
spotting miguel across the room, you sprinted towards him, disregarding any concerns of decorum. when you reached him, you didn't hesitate, throwing your arms around him in a tight embrace. the urgency and intensity of your hug conveyed the depth of your concern, your need to ensure that he was alright.
“miguel," you gasped, your voice barely above a whisper, as tears welled up in your eyes. "i had a dream... a terrible dream. i couldn't bear the thought of something happening to you. you were dead…shot to death.”
miguel, caught off guard by your sudden embrace, wrapped his arms around you in return, holding you close. he was confused about the nightmare that you said that he was shot to death. he couldn’t be shot to death, he was spider-man 2099. he could feel the genuine worry in your touch, your affection and care radiating from your very being. his heart swelled with gratitude and a renewed understanding of your guys connection.
“i’m here, i’m okay," he murmured reassuringly, his voice filled with sincerity. "you don't need to worry. i’m safe, and i’m not going anywhere."
you let out a shaky breath, gripping him tighter as your absorbed his words. there, in that moment, you found solace. your racing heart began to calm, your fears dissipating in the face of his presence. miguel’s embrace grounded you, providing the comfort you desperately needed.
you both stood there, locked in each other’s embrace, surrounded by your fellow Spider-People who understood the unbreakable bond you both shared. it was a moment of profound connection, a testament to your friendship and the unwavering support you had for one another.
with miguel’s presence and reassurance, you knew that the nightmare that had plagued your sleep was just that—a dream. or so you thought it was a dream when months later you found out that his variant was shot to death and for a time he had gone off to live in his variant’s life for him. he indeed left you. alone. it wasn’t a dream—it was reality. he was no longer the miguel that you knew. he wasn’t your miguel. not by a long shot.
