Did you know that there was a rarely used, second riddle of the sphinx? I didn’t until I was looking into sphinxes more, but I like to think this sphinx likes to tell this riddle to visitors. Yah know, to throw them off their rhythm.

Anywho; so in August I made a post about a Greek goddess OC I had come up with. The gist is that she’s a minor chthonic goddess of secrecy (among other things) and the producer of ambrosia/nectar. I was trying to think of something to put on this plaque and I thought “why not give the goddess of secrets a sphinx to protect her secret enchanted garden”, and so I did! I have a second plaque that has a sphinx with a similar hair style, I like to think it’s the same sphinx.

This piece uses the same terra sig as my last post which is why the colour is off.

I also have to give artistfuly on insta another shout out for her amazing Greek headdress designs! They totally save me the struggle of finding hairstyles for some of the characters!

the sphinxes were so fun i had to draw them again!! i'm floating the names Summer and Chaka... i don't think they're very good at this whole riddle thing. Summer doesn't give a flying fuck who does or doesn't pass by them, and Chaka has stage fright :(

"I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallowed ground..." Secret santa number two, this time for my personal DND group, featuring my friend's pc Nehesi. This piece got real ambitious real quickly so imma treat yall to some detail shots, as well as a flat colour version because I spent AGES detailing those feathers only to shade them into oblivion lmao [image description: a digital illustration depicting Nehesi, a large, powerful sphynx, prowling through an Ancient Greek temple. Her head to turned to look directly towards the viewer, her golden eyes glowing brightly in the dim candlelight. Blood is smeared down her chin and neck, dripping from her teeth as she snarls. Her forelegs are also drenched in blood, and she leaves dark smears on the floor as she drags her claws across it. Behind her stands a marble and gold statue, depicting a goddess holding a book and quill. Her face is in shadow, darkening her expression.
