Personality and Traits
Damien comes across as a very laidback and open guy, very easy to approach and talk to. He is a pretty big jokester, likes to crack a few jokes here and there to make people laugh or lighten the mood.
Though in the heat of battle, he has known to be brutal towards his enemies, sparing no mercy and absolutely no time - getting a job done quickly and efficiently. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind when needed, even if it may be more emotionally driven.
Nevertheless, towards those he likes, he is a very caring and loyal person. Ride or die buddy. It’s pretty damn obvious too, he’ll never stop bugging someone he cares for no matter where they are in the world. He can read their emotions like a book too; he can tell when someone’s feeling down and will try his best to cheer them up.
ESFP-T (MBTI)
Damien’s also the sort of guy to take care of others but not himself. Truthfully, after he lost Daniel, he found it very hard to cope. Thus, he took on Daniel’s role of looking after others.
Damien is also really good with any sort of trade work which he learned whilst growing up on his family farm. You need an electrician, mechanic, or welder? He’s your guy.

Biography
Coming from a family of farmers, Damien spent most of his childhood living and working out on his family farm in rural New South Wales. Throughout his younger years, he was constantly harassed/bullied by his drug addicted older brother, Thomas. Young Damien was no match for him but luckily enough, his older sister had his back at all times. Thomas would eventually runaway and was never seen again – presumed dead.
As he grew up, Damien attended an all-boys boarding school in Sydney where he met Daniel Greenhill – his best friend for many years to come. He never really excelled at any subjects other than wood/metalwork and P.E., so when it came down to his final ATAR exams he absolutely flunked them. Not wanting to continue studying or returning to farm life, Damien worked the odd job here and there to make ends meet.
Whilst working one of his jobs alongside his buddy, Daniel had dropped that he had met a special forces operator by the name of Jackson Wyatt and suggested that he should meet with him.
After hearing all about Wyatt’s career as a Commando, Damien was sold on the idea; so much so that at the age of 19, he enlisted into the Australian Army after being trained by Wyatt himself much to his parent's disapproval. He served two years as an infantryman within 3RAR before completing the Commando selection course and earning his green beret, where he was placed in Lachlan’s B Company. Turns out he had a real knack for this sort of thing as he continued to undergo a range of further Commando specialist courses after initial Commando training.
 Since then, he’s done multiple tours to Urzikstan, Afghanistan and Iraq where he was introduced to Captain Price (via Lachlan) and Benjamin “Otter” Lee (via Wyatt).
Damien has since then worked alongside Captain Price closely thanks to Lachlan’s close connection to him, particularly in Urzikstan, but isn’t opposed to flying out to lend a hand wherever.
Modern Warfare I
During 2019, Damien is first seen in the UK on a training exercise with the SAS before he is swiftly sent to London’s Piccadilly Circus to assist against AQ’s terrorist attack, alongside Gaz. Afterwards, he joins the SAS Anti-terror wing along with Price and Gaz to clear a house in Camden, full of AQ affiliates in search of any information related to the Piccadilly attack and The Wolf.
Damien returns to Urzikstan alongside 2CDO REGT, where not long after he is called to assist Captain Price, Gaz and the others at the US Embassy, also aiding to save the Ambassador’s Assistant, Stacy. Following this, he follows the rest of the team back to the ambassador’s residence only to find the Wolf had been extracted by AQ forces already. Furthermore, he is seen briefly helping SAS and CIA on the night raid to locate The Wolf at his compound.
2020/2021
After the events of MW19, Damien spent this time on rotation in TAG-E, though was later sent back to Urzikstan on an emergency deployment to help aid in the assassination of an AQ leader. This proved to be a struggle. They were given little to no information and thus were subsequently ambushed, leading to the death of best friend, Daniel Greenhill, who tried to pull an injured Damien out of enemy fire.
After the funeral, Damien spent his time spiralling down. He became depressed, not leaving his Sydney apartment for days at a time and ultimately almost being discharged from his duties. Though thanks to his Captain and two close friends - Lachlan, Sparrow and Aly - they helped him find the means to work towards getting better and soon enough, he was ready enough to go back to his duties.
Modern Warfare II
In 2022, Damien is first seen undercover at Café Gracht alongside Captain Price where they wait for representatives from both AQ and Las Almas Cartel to show up. After seeing Gaz tranquillise the cartel member, they all move to enter Laswell’s vehicle and leave the area swiftly.
Later on he returns to Urzikstan, where he is again enlisted for help by Price to rescue Laswell from AQ along with ULF fighters.
Modern Warfare III
Damien spends this time going home to Australia for a little while before being sent on another tour around the Middle East. It is in Urzikstan that he (and 2CDO REGT) work alongside Phillip Graves and his Shadow Company, unaware of the events in Las Almas concerning Los Vaqueros and TF141. He is only made aware when seeing his friend Sparrow again, where she rips the SC patch off of him and promptly has a go at Damien for wearing that thing around them, explaining the full story.
Trivia
EDM and rock/metal music is what he listens to most.
He is a Mclaren F1 fan, as well as being a big fan of the AFL team: Collingwood Football Club (Magpies).
Absolute gym junkie. Has an extensive collection of pre-workout, protein powder and creatine stored in his apartment (and snuck onto base). If he wasn’t a Commando, he’d probably be a bodybuilder or athlete of some sort.
Damien keeps a scrapbook that he fills with stickers, trinkets, thoughts or drawings from various places he has visited.
During his downtime in Sydney, he likes to go café-hopping! He’s a big foodie. Also likes to take long walks during the night, overlooking the Harbour Bridge and generally just taking in the city lights. It's one of his favourite things to do to ease his mind.
Thanks to Daniel, Damien is pretty good at speaking Indonesian and really enjoys Indonesian food! His favourites are nasi campur and soda gembira. He’d mix Indonesian and English together to gossip about something to Daniel. After they both graduated high school, Daniel took Damien to visit Jakarta for the first time and he loved it! Also owns a couple batik shirts.
Drives a 79 series Landcruiser. His number plate is “WHITLOCK”.
Does jiu-jitsu and is currently at a purple belt.
Frequently visits Daniel’s grave when he has the time. He sits there for hours just catching him up on every little event or thought that has happened, as if he were there to listen like the old times. Frequently catches up with Daniel's family too, they've taken him in like he's their son.
In the past, Damien has never had a good relationship - they’ve all either cheated on him or ghosted him. He gave up looking for a partner even though he longed to have a family of his own.

HI ID LOVE TO HEAR ABT YOUR SONIC FORCES AU HEHE..... love those redesigns
hii !!!! i'm glad ur interested in my au, atm i don't have stuff writen abt it, as i mentioned once in a few tags, all my ideas sort of, just, live in my head, but i'll do my best to organize them here for u !!
the main characters of this au are sonic and shadow. both of them start working together after shadow finds and rescues sonic from a sandstorm in the dessert. he initially only intends to bring sonic back to the resistance, but first, both of them have to prove sonic's identity in order for him to join in, since he has been lost for so long, and also because of infinite's illusions taking sonic's form causing trouble and confusion to the resistance. in the end, shadow joins as well to create a plan in order to defeat infinite.
tails is also a prominent part of this au. he is, for the most part of the story, helping the resistance from the shadows before joining them. he's got his own squad even! omega, and an illussion of classic sonic created by a phantom ruby prototype tails carries with him. this sonic follows him around and responds to any given command.
as for the leaders of the resistance, amy is in charge of logistics and strategy, meanwhile knuckles is actively fighting in the battlefield and is training new recruits.
and finally, infinite. he's a soldier himself, and the general of eggman's forces. not many actually know his name, so, the general public usually refers to him as "the scarlet soldier". he didn't have any special abilities before obtaining the ruby besides his tactical knowledge.
i planned to give the other characters their own cool names. i already have amy's code name decided, she'll be "oracle". as for sonic, i'll just call him nick. it's simple, and it's cute. hehe...sonick.....

Hi! Thank you so much for this question! I'll be happy to answer💕
Each clone is unique and many of them have a special place in my heart, but there is one that is especially close to me. I was looking for a character that would fit me the most for a long time. First Obi-Wan, then Rex and Tech, but in the end Echo took first place. I feel connected with him the most. I could write an entire essay on why Echo is my favorite clone- I'm sorry if I write a bit too much- I think I won't be able to include all aspects anyway. Echo is just perfect in his imperfections❤️
I can mostly identify with Echo's personality and personal change due to the events he's been through. Fortunately, not with his medical trauma.
Echo used to follow every order and tried to be the perfect soldier. He constantly tried to deepen his knowledge, to be as effective as possible. Even his own brothers were laughing at him, when he concentrated on reading reg manuals. He also had some problems with adapting to new situations, which did not fit in the number of things he had learned so far. He needed experience, which he gained quickly after completing cadet training and joining the army. He wasn't a shiny anymore.
Thanks to his will to fight for what is right and his skills, Echo became an ARC trooper, side-by-side with soldiers of one of the most effective Legions. He learned how to improvise in the middle of fight and gained experience alongside one of the best captains, who also became his close friend and role model. They trusted each other and, thanks to their tactical instinct, created special plans together that were used in battles even long after the Citadel. After this mission, everything changed. This rule-following soldier didn't hesitate for a second on the battlefield. He had to act quickly. He was ready to give his life and he was given a second chance.
Echo always had a brother by his side- a soul mate who always supported him. Fives... They were the last two domino, and they were still standing despite all terrors they had to experience. No matter what happened, they always had each other. They complemented each other like the sun and the moon - one could not shine without the other. Echo - always organized, calm, quiet and a bit introverted. Fives - a bit crazy, cheerful, open and rather extroverted. It's a very similar type of dynamism between me and my sister. (but, as time goes by, I see my sister becoming a bit more like Tech, which makes my heart go even closer to Echo.)
Due to this traumatic event in his life, Echo has changed a lot. After rescuing him from Skako Minor, he had much to do to restore both his physical and mental health. He had to get used to the overwhelming amount of changes that had taken place in his body and around him. After all, he now lived in a world without his twin... he had become the last piece of domino.
Despite his own problems and difficulties, he put on a brave face and did his best to compensate for the losses he had unwillingly caused. Thanks to him, the scales of victory shifted for the Republic.
However, Echo had changed so much that he no longer found himself as a member of 501st. Legion. With the support of Rex and his new squad, he decided to join the Bad Batch. He went from being a rule follower, to a Rebel who didn't follow the rules at all. Even though he had a new family, he never forgot about his closest brother, and always tried to be where he was needed the most.
Not only did his physical appearance change, but so did his personality. He is more mature and assertive than his past self. He fits perfectly into being a "mom", he is caring, observant and ready to make any sacrifices for his family. Sometimes all it takes is one look to understand that something is wrong. He may seem a bit cold and distant at first, but inside he hides a lot of good, not just bad experiences. He needs some time to adapt to the changes, but when someone gets to know him better, he becomes more open and trusting. He also tries to be close to Omega, who, like him, shares similar trauma of being a "lab rat". He is looking for someone who will understand and accept him for who he is.
Echo wants to be useful and is afraid of being left without the ability to do something, to defend himself. He's also afraid of being lonely. Despite all the hell he went through, he can still be gentle, tender and compassionate. Despite his own doubts, he is able to silence emotions at a critical moment and control the situation. He is the most experienced in Bad Batch and knows how to make the best of it. He has lost many brothers and you can tell he is used to constant grief, but each loss hurts just as much.
I think the main reason why I love Echo so much is that I can relate to his changes at some personal point. There was also a "breaking point" in my life. I lost a person who was very close to me, my role model, the person who introduced me to the Star Wars Universe, someone I could always count on, who always stood by my side, someone who was like Rex to Echo... my dad... It was unexpected, quick and forced our family to make changes that I really don't like and find it hard to get used to. As an older sister, I try to fill the gap that is left. I try to make everyone happy, often ignoring my own feelings.
I used to be very quiet, extremely introverted, struggling with anxieties and problems related to relationships with other people. As a child, I was not liked that much and I was a loner. I preferred to lock myself in my room with music on and read books or simply study alone. However, life forced me to change. I try to be more open and overcome my own weaknesses. I've also learned not to shut down my emotions, which has been a great relief. Sometimes it's worth talking to someone and that's why I'm so grateful that I have my sister - my Fives and my Tech❤️ Life goes on and you have to deal with it. Now I am stronger and try to be the best version of myself. I try to stay positive and share a smile with others.
Echo is a person who deserves to be happy. If I had one last hug, I would give it to him without hesitation.

DING DONG - NEW SQUAD JUST DROPPED Soma Squad is a Shadow Trooper Special Forces Squad for the GAR Sergeant Krayt (CT-0331) leads them. She's tied oldest with her pod brother Aiwha. She got her name when she had to rescue Aiwha when he got swallowed by a Krayt by getting swallowed too, then killing it from the inside out. - She's a stoic, surly, rarely smiling, grizzled soldier, but a deeply loyal and loving leader, all her brothers respect and love her back. She could kill you :3 Corporal Ruby (CT-3080) became second-in-command after the loss of Soma. His quick-wittedness and creative out-of-the-box thinking makes him invaluable when plans go awry. Though it can sometimes lead to weird stories. "Remember that time I convinced a clanker to take me to dinner?" "I...I remember..." Scomp (CT-5125)- the sweetest, most polite guy who just so happens to be a master pranker (also the youngest of SS). It doesn't help that he is masterful in his technician skills, particularly his ability to hack. People would often call him a scomp on legs. Hence the name. Rounds (CT-8494) is like a feral dog that bonded with a random human it met who fed it once. He's deeply loyal, with a fiery passion in his heart. Cross his squad or other loved ones and he will eat your face. He also loves a good time- like partying. Don't leave your drinks unattended or ask him to get the rounds, he will drink them, and there will be no drinks for you. Rounds Thief. (Also he will remove his black top whenever he gets the chance.) Fizz (CT-4177) is the honorary medic, it is his speciality, even before he joined Soma Squad. He's like a permanently exhausted mum, constantly trying to make sure the group is ok. He has a lot of energy, which as a shiny was brimming and excitable, and along with his hair colour it earned him the name Fizz, though with the years involved in the war, it's more of an anxious energy these days. He is at constant odds with Rounds who is regularly getting in to the most harms way- Fizz has 99 problems and 98 of them are Rounds. Tooka (CT-2139)- typically on sniper and lookout duty and he'd prefer to keep it that way. He can handle all the gross fieldwork, but that doesn't mean he likes it. Being up high and dry is much nicer than wading through a swamp just to spy on an encampment of clankers. Why Tooka though? He sleeps like a Tooka, weird fuckin' positions, even in a tight ball. Aiwha (CT-0332) is tied oldest with his pod sister Krayt. An equally experienced and brilliant solider, though his combat execution is significantly more quiet and calculated than Krayt's down to business, matter-of-fact tactics. He got the name Aiwha when the aiwha mounts on Kamino seemed to take an irregular interest in him whenever he's around them. Aiwha with aiwhas ends up with aiwha nuzzling. He can't help it, they love him. Soma (CT-7772), oh Soma. No longer around. He was the previous second-in-command. And greatly deserved, his loyality to his squad was unparalleled, and exceptionally charismatic, some say he could've been called Silver Tongue, but that was too long. However, he had an unfortunate knack for getting into pickles, a sort of accidentally situationally clumsy. A living Sod's Law. He really should be more careful when he says "What could possibly go wrong!" - After the loss of Soma, the group decided to name themselves after him.

ParaChess
ParaChess is a unique variation of the classic game of chess, specifically designed and played by paramedics within the Rescue Corps community. Developed as a recreational activity to foster camaraderie, strategic thinking, and teamwork among paramedics, ParaChess has gained popularity as a beloved pastime within the corps.

Game Setup and Pieces
The game is played on a chessboard of 7x7, with a distinct set of pieces that reflect the roles and hierarchy within the Rescue Corps. There are for types of pieces, each representing a specific role within the paramedic community:
The Supervisor: This piece, analogous to the King in traditional chess, represents the commanding officer or the supervisor within a squad. The objective of the game is to protect the Supervisor at all costs, simulating the priority of safeguarding leadership in real-life emergency situations.
The Paramedic: Similar to the Queen in conventional chess, the Paramedic holds a central role in the game. With the ability to move strategically across the board, the Paramedic symbolizes the versatility and importance of the paramedic's role in the Rescue Corps.
The Tactical Paramedic: Resembling the Rook in traditional chess, the Tactical Paramedic piece signifies the paramedic's ability to handle high-pressure situations and support field operations. This piece moves horizontally and vertically, embodying the tactical skills required during emergencies.
The Cadet: Representing the Pawn, the Cadet piece symbolizes the newer members of the paramedic community. As Cadets progress across the board, they reflect the development and training journey of a paramedic, learning valuable skills and gaining experience.
Gameplay and Objectives
ParaChess maintains the essential rules of chess, including the movement and capture mechanics of the pieces. The ultimate objective of the game is to capture the opposing side's Supervisor while simultaneously protecting one's own. This reflects the core principles of teamwork and leadership within the Rescue Corps.
Unconventional Challenges
Incorporating the fast-paced nature of emergency situations, ParaChess is often played against the clock. Each player must make their move within a specified time limit, simulating the urgency paramedics face in the field. As if that weren't enough, additional auditory and visual stimuli or distractions are introduced during the game, forcing players to maintain their composure and concentration amid chaos, just as they do during real-life crises.
Armored Chessmanship
Some paramedics take ParaChess to the next level by donning their full Mark IV Armour Suits during gameplay. The iconic suits, known for their cutting-edge features, add a tactile dimension to the game. Wearing the suit amplifies the challenge, requiring players to think and strategize while adapting to the armor's interface, including the visor's HUD display and noise-canceling features. This unique twist enhances the immersive experience and deepens the connection between the game and their paramedic roles.
Symbolism and Unity
Beyond its recreational aspects, ParaChess serves as a symbolic representation of the paramedic community's unity, collaboration, and commitment. The game provides a platform for paramedics of different ranks and roles to engage, strategize, and bond outside of their usual operational contexts.
ParaChess tournaments, often held during downtime or as team-building events, foster an environment of friendly competition and shared enjoyment. The game's strategy, much like the decision-making processes in real emergencies, encourages critical thinking, adaptability, and effective communication.
In conclusion, ParaChess stands as a testament to the ingenuity and unity of the Rescue Corps paramedics. Through this specialized chess variant, they not only engage in a recreational pursuit but also reinforce the values and principles that define their vital service to the community.

starting off with winter bruno he wants to be a far save armor which is a highly competitive role. i don't recommend taking him into aether raids but he's very usable in arena.
armored floe provides a res based damage increase and the crucial unpiercable damage reduction.
kestrel stance 3 provides the -1 special cd per attack on enemy per hit effect. if you have guard support you can also run atk/spd unity which turns stat debuffs into buffs.
savvy fighter 4 provides the full null follow up effect assuming he wins a speed check (i believe it's if his speed is greater than foes speed -10) and also provides damage reduction. he does not want to run any other fighter skill because the effects of something like special fighter already exist on arcane caliburnus.

you can inherit savvy fighter 4 and kestrel stance 3 from fallen anakos at the same time by getting savvy fighter 3 from the valentines lucina combat manual in the divine codes 4.
atk/spd far save helps him further speed stack while he far saves. atk/spd far save and armored floe can be inherited at the same time from brave corrin.
the squad ace BS seal (acquired from doing squad assaults) grants a visible +3 atk/spd but also +5 hp which increases his bulk. he isn't tied to this deal though and can run atk/spd form or mystic boost 3.
this build only requires two units to be foddered (and a combat manual) making it very efficient.
as for spring bruno ...

i had a Hard time finding something for him to do. he has an extremely awkward stat spread with a very high defense stat and nothing to do with it. as a staff unit it's not like he can deal damage with bonfire and with dazzling staff 3 in base kit it's not like he's taking hits very often.
this build is a more supportive role and tries to get him to speed stack since there isn't any point in stacking other stats.
first is seaside parasol+ which is available on summer l'arachel who is currently running on the 7th anniversary special focus 1 banner. this is the best inheritable staff as there isn't any sort of arcane staff and should be refined with the wrathful staff effect. it inflicts the guard status on nearest enemies within 5 spaces, grants atk/spd +5 in combat, and debuffs foe's res in combat based on four times the amount of visible debuffs on the foe.
return+ is the preferred staff assist due to its ability to act like reposition which is generally the most versatile movement assist. you can also use ascended elincia's rescue+ instead since this build requires you to fodder an ascended elincia anyways.

return+ can be inherited from a sara combat manual from divine codes 3
lights restraint is arguably the best offensive staff special and it provides more guard support by inflicting the guard status on foe and foes within 2 spaces after combat. it's also only 2 cd.
C duel cavalry allows spring bruno to score /okay/ in arena. not great by any means but if you want to use ur faves in arena... even if you're not using him in arena +5 hp and +2 to all stats is still pretty nice. unfortunately C duel cavalry is only available on groom saul who is not in the standard pool of units. another option for an a slot skill since groom saul is limited is atk/spd catch 4 which is inheritable from quite a few units in the divine codes

dazzling shift would be better as dazzling far trace however that is only available on halloween flayn and almost feels like a waste... dazzling shift can be inherited from ascended elincia at the same time as lights restraint and the pre requisite fodder is already in his kit. it is simply a tier 4 version of dazzling staff in tier 4 skills are required to score in arena.
inf. speed tactic allowed spring bruno to be even more supportive to his allies beyond inflicting guard. inf. speed tactic provides both spd+6 and full null follow up to infantry allies (assuming the amount of infantry allies on the team is 2 or less). other options for c slot skills include any joint drive skill (preferably joint drive speed)

ive been really wanting to get into metal gear lately and i noticed you draw art for it, do you know where i should start??
HIIII 💙 YES . this is the playlist but Ok so I know it may seem intimidating at first, I thought it was too when I started watching it a few months ago, but it was so easy to get rlly into that It stopped feeling so massive! I watched the first two games (“metal gear” 1 & 2 (not to be confused with metal gear *solid* 1 & 2)) but I don’t think they are a great place to start watching for attention span’s sake. Especially bc everything in them is retconned later on, but the summery IS still important so I’ll put like that for you before you start getting to the starting point under the cut:
MG1: The first Metal Gear game follows Solid Snake, a rookie of the FOXHOUND special operations unit. He is sent by his superior Big Boss to the fortress in South Africa known as Outer Heaven, with the goal of finding the missing squad member Gray Fox and investigating a weapon known as Metal Gear. Big boss was secretly the leader of a terrorist nation state. Big boss was holding nuclear weapons/robots ready to threaten the world with, he wanted to make an independent military nation for soldiers to be free. Snake defeats Big Boss in the last battle and escapes the Outer Heaven compound as it crumbles in flames behind him. After the end credits, a message from Big Boss is displayed saying that he will meet Solid Snake again. (You may think this is confusing since he died in the fires, but it’ll make sense way later LOL)
MG2: Set in 1999, a few years after the events of the original game. Solid Snake must infiltrate a heavily defended territory known as Zanzibar Land to rescue a kidnapped scientist and destroy the revised "Metal Gear D". Snake faces off against Gray Fox in Metal Gear D and eventually destroys the mech. Both men later fight hand-to-hand in a minefield, and Snake finishes him off. (because greyfox had remained loyal to Big Boss.) also Kaz Miller, FOXHOUND’s survival consultant also sided against Big Boss during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance, in favor of Solid Snake (this is just letting u know solid snake and miller were familiar and mutually respecting since he is in mgs1) As you can imagine this entire “i was tricked into helping a nuclear development and had to kill my bro” bummed solid snake out. So by MGS1 (METAL GEAR *SOLID* 1) he is a legendary solider who repeatedly has tried to retire.
Congrats! Now you can start watching, if you’d like to play them most of the games are accessible on the xbox and such but I watched most of them on YouTube. Skip metal gear 1 & 2 (THE FIRST TWO THT DONT HAVE “SOLID” IN THE TITLE) and start from this sequence onward (its already in order on the playlist dw i just wanna diagram it:
Metal Gear Solid -> Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty -> Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (this is a Big Boss centered prequel very important) -> Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (ends Solid Snake’s Story timeline) -> Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (continues the prequel story that continues onward from this point) Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes (this is a short game demo that sets up the main setting of Phantom Pain. also TW on this one for very detailed torture tactics..) -> METAL Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain (end of series)
they made another game but kojima left the making of MGS Rising which is pretty irrelevant (2 me) but takes place during the Solid snake and co.’s timeline. but I haven’t played it yet/ it’s spotty in canon-ness
i sooo so recommend mgs, it helps if u know whats happening in its real world counterpart (our real world rn) because its a rlly fun game thats all abt how war is a terrible thing in many ways. but its also a game tht doesnt take itself too seriously and thats why i love it sm too, it keeps you smiling and laughing at how crazy all the characters act and how silly some of the situations are. most ppl hate mgs for that reason but i think its such a specific brand of goofy that it makes it an unforgettable experience. for example: solid snake has a rant where he explains bisexual men dont rlly care what a homophobe would think of them. kojima is canon god. big boss believes in santa clause. people are named stuff like deep throat. its insane.

So I get why Casey couldn't come back to truck easily, but what about Squad? Say that Taylor's exit is permanent and Jesse Spencer wanted to come back, couldn't they make Casey Squad Captain?
If the stars do align like that BTS, Yes and No.
Let's explain the No first. It doesn't immediately come to mind as an option because Squad requires specialized training, like scuba certification, ice rescue and tactical rope. These are just a few and they stack up. These courses take time and they're not cheap. Some firefighters will go out and get one or two over the course of their careers, but you need more than that for rescue squads. And never in all his seasons on the show have they ever given any indication that Casey has any of these additional qualifications, let alone all that he would need to serve on not to mention lead Squad 3.
Now onto the Yes. Just because they've never said that Casey has these required qualifications. Just because we've never seen it in the past. None of that means he doesn't have them. They could easily write him as having always had them them or having gotten them. Would it be a little retcon? Sure. Especially given the Truck v Squad tensions they played up in the earlier seasons. But that doesn't make it impossible. Especially since Cruz is only an acting LT and while he's doing a good job, finding his footing, idk if it's really his thing. At least not now, not when his kids are still as young as they are.

Latvia will host the third sequence of the live flight exercise of the Ramstein Alloy 2022 Allies/Partners. Search and rescue scenarios, approximate air support and air-to-air refueling. A special focus will be on the integration of a Spanish Ground-Based Air Defense Task Force into the activities. NASAMS' Spanish air defense systems will simulate the defense of Lielvarde Air Base in Latvia against air strikes - a set of skills that fighter pilots need to practice the establishment of air superiority during defensive operations, for example. in a situation of Article 5 of NATO.

LA SWAT
The Leader
The group's official leader, will need extensive tactical training with some (to extensive) military experience, and to have been with the team for years. Someone warm but tough, who views this team as their second family and helps to hold them all together; supporting and guiding them all. POC FC highly preferred!!
The Mechanic
The 2nd longest standing member, would prefer if they were generational SWAT (their father & grand-father were also); their primary role is driver, but they can fix, break into and jerry-rig anything on the fly. Very mechanically & technology gifted.
The Vice Connect
A former officer with the LAPD Vice Squad, this one will be the 3rd longest standing members, they'll have cartel links and a handful of people undercover they can reach out to for information on anything drug, or smuggling related.
The K-9 Medic - Reserved
One of the newer members, they'll have been a former K-9 specialist, encompassing search & rescue as well as drug/bomb identification, with an extensive background in front-lines wound patching and tactical medical training. Whether they have a dog or not, is up to you (can always borrow one from the force), but will be a plus! The dog won't accompany them always, but will be brought in as needed~
The Hotshot Sniper
Joined a month prior to Helena, this char is the youngest of the group, having been brought on for their potential as a sniper and to see them straightened out under the strict tutelage of their peers. They're cocky although they have less training than the rest, they're street smart and quick to think on their feet, though they tend to be brash and work out of turn - often defying orders and needing to be wrangled back in.
The Military - Taken by Sarah
Helena has an extensive military background, working with both special ops and a private security company, while also serving multiple tours in active duty in the middle east where she saw years of combat. Before the US military Hel served within the fae army (Dawn), growing up within their ranks, so she's known very little but strict training and routine throughout her life. She serves as the brute force and scaled shield of the group, and while she's one of the newer members her training and experience often sets her as the second-in-command; leading 2 others of the group when flanking is needed.

The Los Angeles S.W.A.T. teams are highly skilled teams of 5-6 that function as one, living, breathing, tactical unit. Tasked with taking on some of the most stressful and dangerous jobs in the city, they typically respond to, alongside to other groups, bomb threats, heavy gang activity, stash house raids, stand-offs, bank robberies, cartel raids or infiltrations, etc. SWAT teams are highly regarded among the force - respected by police (most of their members being former officers) - and military alike. All members of SWAT will need to have special skills that bring something unique to the table along with extensive training.
All background can be expanded upon and given more training and encompass other areas (can have more than one skillset!!), this is just a jumping off point for the group~
Training:
Minimum of 5y within the regular police force.
Advanced weapons training.
Extensive training in combat techniques and self-defense.
Specialized vehicle operations (like armored trucks).
Extensive tactical - war-like - training.
Undercover training.
All members will need to pass the SWAT exam (which is physical and grueling, has a pass-rate of less than 5%), and cover most if not all of the above areas. Actual military experience isn't required but is highly sought after!

I very rarely suffer from motion sickness in video games, but Aero Fighters Assault was so nauseating that I got a pretty bad headache as a result. The game has a very choppy framerate and the levels are so bland that they’re extremely disorientating. These are things that you need to take care of in an aircraft fighting game like this.

While this is the first jet game on the N64, it’s important to note that the PlayStation had received two Ace Combat games to set an example of what this genre should be offering, with some solid campaigns. Aero Fighters Assault has an extremely bare bones plot that doesn’t give you much of a clue of what is going on, even with the manual. Phutta Morgana (not sure if it’s a person or organisation) has melted the ice caps and flooded most of the world and has “totally immobilized the world’s ground units”. With the navy focused on rescuing people, it’s up to a squad of four pilots to save the world (even though it seems like the world has already lost).

There are seven main levels to play through (plus a couple of bonus ones). In most of them you have to destroy a massive boss vehicle. The biggest challenge is finding it due to the game’s terrible radar, but you can ignore other enemy craft for the most part – they present more danger to your teammates and you’ll miss out on a bonus star if they’re shot down (although good luck finding them when they’re in trouble, they don’t appear on the radar). One level has you defending a space shuttle from ground units and one you have to kill all enemy aircraft. There’s no actual dogfighting manoeuvres, so if an enemy gets behind you, your only real tactic is to just fly as far away and hope they give up.

The final mission gives you the intel “Lar has been sent to Earth to destroy all humanity”. After flying through an ice cave, you enter a spaceship and destroy an alien eye. Was this eye leading the organisation? It’s never explained, but with how awful the game is to actually control, the lack of actual story is probably the most entertaining part of the game. There’s also not much excuse for such a dreadful feeling flight game as the developers worked on Pilotwings 64. Another thing that I noticed was the poor hit detection for collisions – many crashes seemed like I missed the object I blew up on.

Aero Fighters Assault is a bare-bones game and didn’t do anything special when it came out – other games in the genre had already set much higher standards. Time has also done the game no favours and it comes across even worse now than it probably originally did. For me, it was an utterly horrible experience, and that isn’t even counting how it made me feel physically ill.
You’re only allowed to be shot down once before you have to restart the level. Other than that, though, you can crash your aircraft as many times as you like, so boss disposal is simply a matter of firing as many missiles as you can, then crashing into the side of the lumpy metallic beast before you take too much damage. You then reappear next to where you ‘died’, and can repeat the process until the boss explodes. In fact, crashing as soon as you take a hit is the best method of survival.

The earlier games in the series had a good reception, so having a collection would be quite nice, with this included just for the sake of preservation. The third game is currently available on Switch.

Xcom2 - Review
With the release of the Nintendo Switch a lot of companies decided to release ports of their games on it. The latest to join this trend was 2K with their collections, namely for the Bioshock, Borderlands and XCOM2 series. Today we’ll review the XCOM2 collection, the oddball of the bunch, which includes XCOM2 and its DLC.

Story
Set twenty years after the first game, XCOM2shows a future were XCOM was incapable of repelling the invasion. After a war with heavy casualties, the aliens set the ADVENT coalition, formed by humans originally interested in negotiation with the invaders, as puppet government.
At the start of the game, an XCOM assault team is diving into an ADVENT facility to rescue the Commander, the character from whose point of view the players interact with the game. After succeeding in their mission Dr Richard Tygan, XCOM’s resident scientist, starts a procedure on the Commander in order to remove a chip implanted in their skull.
After analyzing the chip, it turns out to be a connection to the whole ADVENT network, through which they were using the Commander to analyze and provide tactical information on their campaigns.

With the Commander now freed, XCOM is back into the playing field. After raiding several of ADVENT’s secret facilities, XCOM discovers the Avatar Project, which they will have to stop.
As part of the War of the Chosen expansion, three new factions are introduced into the game, with extra bits of story for each of them. An example of this is the conflict between the Reapers and Skirmishers, which is ended by a truce against their common enemy, the aliens.
The expansion also adds three special enemies known as the Chosen, each of them having a special relationship with one of the new factions. They also have some backstory which can be found and read in the archive, adding some amount of flavor to their characters.

Graphics
While the graphics in XCOM2 Collection are as good as expected, they are definitely downgraded from the other versions. Sometimes the image will look muddy or somewhat lacking in details. This is not a stylistic choice since the blur happens to go into whatever is being shown, but taking into account the lesser power of the Switch it was most likely necessary.
Even if player controlled characters are not the most unique, players can fiddle around with them. All allied soldiers can be customized with a decent amount of options, allowing for a slew of different designs. It is worth mentioning that while this is a nice touch, it could’ve been somewhat more polished since a few of the options are somewhat lackluster.
Enemies are a whole world, with each of them including very unique designs which allow players to know at a glance what to expect. The only possible complain would be with the standard soldiers, which from a top-down perspective can sometimes be confused. This first part also applies to boss enemies, which boast special looks to match their abilities.
There are a few graphic mess-ups in the game, such as enemies going through walls due to their size, soldiers putting their arm through walls to shoot, etc. Another one would be how the camera is handled at times, making weird moves that don’t show anything and being generally awkward.

Sound
XCOM2’s sound is pretty good; the voice acting, soundtrack and SFX all have high production value and effort put into them. That said, the soundtrack can get somewhat repetitive after a while, with most songs being pretty similar.
It is also a very nice touch how allied soldiers have accents matching their nationality (if the option is enabled), though same as with the soundtrack, after a while of hearing the same catchphrases it ends up becoming repetitive.
Gameplay
Both mainline XCOM games play as turn based tactics games. In them, the player controls a squad of soldiers which start being the same but obtain different classes after downing some enemies. These classes obtain more skills as the soldiers defeat more enemies and continue improving. Soldiers belonging to the factions added by War of the Chosen evolve somewhat differently, having several skills to choose from without special training instead of the standard two.
Missions feature varied objectives, from hacking into ADVENT terminals to rescuing civilians. A few of these missions offer the option to evacuate without defeating all the enemies, but most of them don’t. As the player progresses through the game, more missions with more types of enemies start appearing.
As previously mentioned, War of the Chosen adds the three Chosen enemies. The way they work is that any operation conducted in there are has a chance for them to appear. If the player manages to defeat them, some extra skill points will be received. The Chosen cannot be killed until several “covert operations” are launched and their hideout is discovered. Once this happens, an assault can be launched to kill them for good.

A great part of XCOM2 is the base and map management, with several locations which can be analyzed to receive bonuses. Inside the base itself, the players can choose researches for Dr Tygan, unlocking improvements, new items, etc. They can also build new facilities, craft items, visit the archive etc.
All of the research and construction takes in-game time, which passes as the player scans the aforementioned locations. At the end of every in-game month, supplies are received from other resistance cells. These supplies act as money of sorts, being required for most improvements or items. There is also another currency known as Intel which can be used at the black market and some other places.
Overall, it is very arguable that the base management is as important as the operations themselves if not more. This management is also a hard part of the game which may get overwhelming at times due to a lot of events happening very close to each other, but as they improve, the players will get used to it.

Now that everything about the game itself has been talked about, there are is pair things to mention about the port, which is less than perfect.
A big issue is the abhorrent loading times; going for up till a pair of minutes at times. It is safe saying a player would have more than enough time to get fully dressed or take a bathroom break while the game loads. This is especially true for any save reloads, which are even longer than other load times. Similar to this, crashes can occur, which force to reload the game from the last save.
Directly related to this, during some of the loading screens voiced dialogues may start, but due to the game being stuck in said screen no subtitles will pop up for those playing without volume.
Lastly, it is important to mention that the game will drain the Switch’s battery in about 3 hours while undocked. Besides this, it will make it get hotter and the game itself will start getting choppier/slower the longer it’s played for, up till the point where inputs may take several seconds to register.

Conclusion
XCOM2 is a really good game on the hard side of general difficulties. While accessible to everyone, it is hard to master and requires either time or being familiar with the genre as a whole. If the player can get past the issues of the port, which don’t affect gameplay itself, it is a more than recommendable game.
Personal Opinion
“XCOM2 is very fun, I had a really entertaining time with it, thought the loading times annoyed me to no end. It definitely is a great tactics game and a worth purchase, though I’d personally recommend getting it on any of the other platforms over Switch. This recommendation is due to a pair of factors, but mainly because the other versions don’t have the issues intrinsic to the port (though allegedly the loading times are still sketchy) and are more likely to get sales anytime soon.”
