onsole Strategy Tactics Games of 1993 - Super Godzilla
Super Godzilla, known as s for its Japanese release, is a strategy tactical fighting game developed by the soon-to-be-defunct Advance Communication Company and published by Toho for the SNES. Super Godzilla was first released in Japan in 1993, with a US and Canadian release following in 1994.
The gameplay of Super Godzilla is divided into two parts. Firstly, there's movement, where the player controls Godzilla navigating a small map at the bottom of the screen.
The objective is to avoid buildings that slow down Godzilla while also targeting specific buildings for destruction, as well as encountering enemies, both human and non-human, and collecting pickups scattered around the map. The results of these actions are shown in the upper part of the screen.
During combat against other Kaiju, the player can utilize punches, tail whips, and Godzilla's famous fire breath. The effectiveness of these attacks is situation-dependent, so choosing the right move at the right time is crucial. Making incorrect choices can result in Godzilla losing energy and becoming more susceptible to enemy attacks.

Console Strategy Tactics Games of 1993 - Super Battleship The Classic Na...
Released on both the SNES and Genesis in 1993, Super Battleship The Classic Naval Combat Game is a video game adaption of the classic board game Battleship as well as a new take on the board game Super Battleship.
Developed by Synergistic Software and published by Mindscape and Playtronic Industrial, Super Battleship is one of many video games adaptions of this classic board game. Classic Battleship is one most of you will know, a square 10x10 grid where you place your ships and choose a square where you think an enemy ship is located until either your own or your opponents fleet is destroyed.
Super Battleship features 8 different levels with a total of 16 missions, each varying from sinking enemy ships in a certain number of turns, escort missions, destroying enemy bases and defending certain locations from enemy ships.
The gameplay of Super Battleship is the same as regular Battleship, with the game playing out turn based with players able to move their ships around the map from a top-down perspective. When in range of an enemy ship a small mini-game takes place where the player and enemy ships trade broadsides until one is either sunk or retreats from the fight.

Console Strategy Tactics Games of 1993 - Ogre Battle
Ogre Battle also known as Ogre Battle The March of the Black Queen is the first entry in the Ogre Battle series of strategy tactical RPGs, which includes 1995's Tactics Ogre.
Ogre Battle was released in 1993 for the SNES and remained exclusive to that console for three years until being ported to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1996.
Ogre Battle combines elements of both real-time strategy and tactical RPGs. Players control large armies that are moved around a world map; this constitutes the tactical side of the game. Each army can be composed of a variety of classes, including mythological creatures such as dragons, vampires, and other fantasy beings.
Battles are fought out like a turn-based RPG, with commands being given to army units. The game features a tarot system that can be used to unleash special abilities and powerful attacks. The player moves troops in real-time on the tactical map.
When combat is initiated either by an army attacking a town or two armies get too close to each other on the tactical map the game switches to a turn-based RPG style battle system. The player does not have direct control in these battles; instead, they can select general commands for the battle and use powerful tarot cards for special techniques.

Console Strategy Tactics Games of 1993 - Metal Marines
Developed and published by Namco for the SNES, Metal Marines is a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, isometric strategy game where players take on the role of one side of an island-based conflict.
Players must place three command centres on their island and then build up their forces, both defensive and offensive. The game features a diverse array of buildings to construct, including Energy Plants, Factories, Economic Centres, Radar systems, Anti-Aircraft missiles, fake buildings, and fake HQ bases. Additional construction options include minefields, gun pods, and missile launchers, all while managing resources and finances.
After Metal Marines' release for the SNES in 1993, the game was ported to Windows 3.x in 1994 in Europe and the US. It was also re-released for the Wii in 2007 and the Wii U in 2015 on the Nintendo eShop.
The Windows 3.x release received a re-release in 1996, titled Metal Marines Master Edition. The gameplay is almost identical to the 1993 version, but this master edition removes the game's story mode, instead offering a straight-into-action version with various scenarios against different generals available.
