went and bought a paperback copy of the raven boys today to annotate, which means i now own five (5) copies of just the first book, not including the e-book
#i didn't want to annotate any of the other copies bc one is a first edition hardcover one is the fairyloot edition one is a signed hardcover#and the other is the very first copy i ever bought and read of trb and it holds too much sentimental value to me to write in it#plus i had trade credit at the bookstore so i only paid $6 for the paperback#i might also get the other books in paperback to annotate as well but that'll be later down the road#i only own 2 copies each of the other books lol#i have regular signed hardcovers and then the rest of the fairyloot set#well... i own books 2 and 3 in ebooks too so there's that#this series 🤝 autism special interest#text post

hater moment but i can’t stand it when people on booktok proudly showcase their 200+ physical tbr plus all the ten different versions of a random book they bought just because it looks pretty
#something something consumerism#like idk i’m not even totally exempt from this because i also have a bunch of unread books#but idk just buying literally every book you come across is kinda excessive#watching them do a unhaul of all the books they never bothered to read and it’s hardcovers!! how do you just buy a hardcover on a whim#and when they have all these special editions with sprayed edges#this is evolving into just my pet peeves now but why do they put them on the bookshelf just to show the edges. like what book even is it#i sure can’t tell#while i’m at it#when someone is showing their bookshelf and over half the books on it are unread?? why#ha ha anyways everyone can do what they want with their money <3
