Type-Moon fans unfamiliar with Koei Tecmo reading interviews about Samurai Remnant might have the wrong idea about Shibusawa Kou. You might possibly be thinking he's one of Nasu and Takeuchi's peers, a 40-50 something year old man with 25+ years of experience in his belt.

That's wrong. The man is 73 years old. The very first game he made, Nobunaga's Ambition (a series still going on today!) was published in 1983, 40 years ago.

When Nasu called him a "legendary game developer" he wasn't hyping up a fellow peer, Shibusawa Kou is one of the few still active game developers from when video games were a new concept entirely.

Imagine opening your door to a senior citizen whose experience in your industry is almost as long as you've been alive, only for them to say they really liked reading about your big titty samurai and they have with them a proposal for a fully staffed video game production ready to go.

That's how wild Samurai Remnant's creation was

So when Harrow has a very bad time while traveling trough the River for the first time in Harrow the Ninth and sees the dead children of the Ninth House, including a baby Gideon with face-paint, the intensity of the moment was kind of dampened by the mental image that popped in my head.

The most impressive part of the cultist simulator/book of hours universe is the amount of insane theological discourse all these different groups were having, genuinely fascinating to read about the different ways the Hours were worshipped. It's also impressive because this has meta-game consequences to where I will see an in game piece of lore and go "ah no i disagree with that interpretation of the solar hours I don't think the Door-In-The-Eye can be counted among them" and I'll realize I've fallen for the trap.
