I took this pic for my mother. It's all the threads I cut for the most recent row of my hardanger project, which I've been plugging away at for the last few days since I've been sick again. ^^ If I calculate correctly, I had to cut a little more than 700 pairs of threads for this round. I'll stick a pic of the project in progress under the cut.

Unironed and unadjusted, which is why it's a bit warped-looking here! But I'm getting ever closer to the point where I can tug all my dove's eyes to even sizes, cut the whole thing out, wash out the starch, and iron it flat. today i was listening to seether by veruca salt and reflecting on how funny it is that the person that introduced me to 'angry teen girl’ rock was my father--and how grateful I am for that. I was very much a daddy's girl and our 'thing' for a while was trips up to north florida to watch drag races about two to three times a year. every time we went he would make me a new mix tape of songs he thought i would like and every one absolutely blew my 12 year old miiiiiiiiiind. I used to BEG him to replay just a girl and seether and cornflake girl over and over and over. I think that was my first experience really feeling 'seen,' that he saw the kind of anger and internal rebellion i was dealing with as a weird, obviously queer, gnc kid (who was getting bullied for these things), even if he didn't 'get' it.

#i've never actually came out to him and we've never talked about me being gay other than like. me bringing home girlfriends lol #but now as an adult i can look back and see all these moments where he clearly had an inkling #and did his best to connect me with others like me
